    Self-contained, air-conditioned guest suite with private entry and ensuite. Host family lives upstairs, you stay downstairs. You have your own space with a modern private ensuite and private keyed entry. A kitchen is also available for your use between the hours of 7am and 10am each morning (for breakfast) and between 5pm and 9pm each evening (for dinner) - see pics!. Free use of bicycles (2) included; easy access to CBD & Southbank via designated bikeway (no sharing road with cars!).
    Small modern self-contained air-conditioned suite. You have your own private entrance and key to come and go as you please from your own private space. The room has its own modern private ensuite (not shared) . You also have sole/exclusive use of a modern kitchen (not shared) for limited hours each day. This guest suite is located downstairs underneath a high-set classic Queenslander style house only 3 km from the Brisbane CBD. We live upstairs and will offer you assistance and hospitality if that is what you want, or total privacy if that is what you prefer. You can freely come and go as you please with your own key to your own private and self-contained accommodation. Our house is a "dual occupancy" house. The downstairs area can be rented as a 2 bedroom/ 2 bathroom house with kitchen and living room (sleeping up to six people). More often we rent it as two self-contained "guest suites". BE aware that if you are choosing to rent this room as a "guest suite" that there may be another airbnb guest staying in our other room downstairs. Your stay will be like staying in a house divided in two. You have secure accommodation with your own private keyed entry and your own bathroom/ensuite (not shared) and your own kitchen facilities (not shared) . However, you might sometimes hear some background noise because of other guests living on the other side of an internal (not sound-proof) wall. We ask guests to be aware of this and show consideration by trying to be reasonably quiet guests especially during typical sleeping hours and also when you are aware that other guests are home. You do not need to share facilities, but you do need to willing to be considerate of others especially in relation to noise. The local area is well-served by public transport (bus and train). An Uber into the CBD or The Valley (Brisbane's nightclub and live music precinct) will cost you only $10 unless you are travelling during peak hour traffic. The Brisbane airtrain travelling to the Gold Coast from Brisbane airport provides you with a direct link to our place. You get off at Park Road Railway station which is a 10 minute walk from our place (note - it takes longer if you are dragging luggage behind you!). Picking you up from the local train station with your baggage might be possible if your arrival in Brisbane is at a convenient time to us. We would need to discuss this with you via airbnb message service a day or two prior to your arrival to confirm that we can help you out. We will make every effort to allow for 24 hour check in (e.g. during the day when we are both at work, or even in the middle of the night) by making arrangements that enable you to collect your key and let yourself into your room without needing our assistance. However, due to past experience (our dog escaping when guests left gate open costing us $208 to retrieve him from the dog pound!), we require clear communication between you and us via airbnb messaging before we confirm any arrangements for you to check in without us being here!!) The room has two single folding Ikea sofa beds, which can also be configured into a queen size bed fitted with Queen sheets if you are travelling as a couple. You will need to tell us before your arrival if you want the beds made up as two single beds rather than a double bed. Otherwise, the room will have a double bed set up when you check in, There is a mini flat screen TV with built in DVD player in your room. WiFi internet will work easily in your room, even though modem is upstairs in our house. No off street parking available. If you have a car, we can provide you with a resident's guest parking permit to be displayed on the dashboard of your car which will prevent you from getting a parking ticket if your car is parked in our street for more than 2 hours between the hours of 9 am and 5pm Monday to Friday. But you must let us know that you will need this before you arrive. There will be a $20 security deposit required for the parking permit which will be returned when you give the permit back on your day of departure. We offer bicycles (2) free of charge with a bicycle lock also supplied - if you would like to explore inner Brisbane in this way. There are scenic bike rides along the nearby Brisbane River and Kangaroo Point cliffs which you can access using the bikeway system (no on road riding needed). We can give you information about the Brisbane bikeway system - maps etc - if this is your interest. We also have an e-bike as well as regular bicycles. Please ask in advance if you want to use the bikes. We actually live in a great spot for cycling enthusiasts who might be interested in exploring inner Brisbane via bicycle. If you think you might want to use the bicycles at night, please bring your own bike lights to attach to the bicycles. We will provide bicycle helmets and bike locks. You're welcome to use our laundry (front-loading washing machine) to catch up with laundry while here. Just let us know so we don't end up needing to both do laundry at the same time! Laundry liquid provided. No clothes dryer available, but you are welcome to dry your clothes on the clothes line in our back yard. This accommodation is quite small but it is modern, private, and separate/self-contained from our family's living space upstairs. It is therefore especially suited for people who might prefer the feeling of privacy provided by self-contained accommodation rather than having to share a bathroom or living space with others, but who might also travelling on a tight budget making a normal studio apartment too expensive. The cleaning fee of $20 includes your fresh linen and towels,and basic first morning breakfast supplies (milk, breakfast cereal, tea and coffee) if you are going to be checking in late - please just let us know, "Can we have complimentary breakfast supplies please!!) Ask us if you would like to borrow umbrellas from us . . . hopefully not required! In the past, we have had home stay students from overseas stay with us. Persons from overseas countries, with English as a second language or from different cultural backgrounds especially welcomed. We have hosted people immigrating to Australia who have used our airbnb as their first base as they find their way and settle in to a new country. We enjoy cultural exchange and learning. We seek to offer a special type of true hospitality to those who specifically ask for it. [Matthew 25:35-40] The option of joining us for dinner on our "deck" - Australian for "outdoor living room" - is available. This would need to be by discussion - depends on your dietary requirements and whether we can easily cater for them (We are not vegetarians - but eat vegetarian food at least twice per week and vegetarians can be easily catered for).     Close to the city and CBD, with a good variety of cheap places to eat out if you have the information you need to find them, an area which is now suddenly experiencing urban renewal/gentrification in a big way. Look up our guide book for shopping and dining information. An Uber ride into the CBD is typically only $10, to the Southbank tourist precinct maybe even less than $10. Get the Uber app on your phone!!
  • I had a lovely stay with Duncan and family. Duncan was generous and very helpful. He lent me a bike and i rode to the uni everyday- it was wonderful. Room was compact and had all that I needed. Sorry about garage door. I noticed a few times when I put remote in my bag and jumped on the bike, the pressure pushed it open. This may have happened without me knowing as I thought i was onto it.   • My first AirBnB stay, although I have travelled extensively. This is a fantastic location. Great room with lovely ensuite. Duncan was very helpful. Appreciated some milk, cereal and yoghurt provided to lick off the first morning. There are two fantastic breakfast locations nearby, European Cafe (not open Sundays) food starts at 6:00am and Marmalade Cafe ( food starts at 7:00am, coffee earlier) 15 minute walk to Stones Corner, nice area. Ask Duncan for a map of how to walk to his place from the Park Street station. It is not a difficult walk, but can be longish with your gear if you take the wrong turn. There is a major highway between the train station and Duncan's place. The train trip from the airport to Park street station is very convenient, takes about 20 minutes. Wifi worked well in room. Bed was comfortable, but I can sleep anywhere. Room has a small fridge and writing table. As you can tell I was wrapped. Some people I know in Brisbane said I should have stayed with them, but I preferred the liberty of being able to rise at 6:00am, go for a walk and then breakfast without disturbing anyone. My experience two nights.

  • Duncan and his wife were very accommodating! We found their house fairly easily. When we arrived they had stocked the fridge with a few goodies - milk, yogurt, tea/coffee, sugar, etc. And even though there wasn't a kitchen, they gave us a few supplies to make meals from the kettle and microwave which was very nice. The room was clean and private which was good! They had a shampoo/soap and a few other things for us. Most importantly the shower was hot and the bed was comfortable. One thing to be aware of is the fact that most shopping/dining is a good 15 minute walk away and it's pretty limited. So it was really nice to have bikes to borrow to get to the grocery store. And it was really nice of them to take us to the train station early in the morning to see us off. We were in a bind and they saved us from a taxi ride. Really appreciate it!

This is an open plan space with the option of a king size bed or 2x single beds. With 2x fold out sofa chair beds and a fold out bed are available for extra persons at an extra cost. Please note: this is more suitable for a family with 3 kids or teenagers. As it can become a bit crowded with 5 adults. But if you all are happy to save $$$, this could be an ideal arrangement. There is a restaurant at Lobby level, open only for breakfast and serves continental breakfast during weekdays or there is Cafe 63 down the road (3mins walk). Bathroom - bath and hand towels - shampoo & conditioner - body wash - hairdryer. My Wifi is good enough for checking emails and for quick browsing. If you need a fast and great connection and needing it for work then this listing might not be for you. I have a suction grab bar for you to use to assists your balance while entering or exiting the shower. There are no steps in the apartment. Housekeeping is available at an added cost $25. This can be organised during your stay.

  • We did a fashion showing here - which means we need space to spread out, good light and presentable enough to have clients visit. Flastas place did not disappoint, as well as all this, the linen sheets, chose of pillows, and homely feel made this a home away from home (except alot cleaner than my home lol). The cafe 63 down the road does great coffee and has a huge breakky menu. Walking distance to south bank meant more opportunities to eat out, or you can cook in and enjoy the views from the apartment.   • Peter's place was perfect for us. It is well located with a choice of 3 free city hopper ferry stations nearby. It is close enough to walk into the city in about 20 minutes. There are a couple of city cycle stations nearby as well. We didn't get time to eat at the nearby pub but it looked great. Lots of coffee shops nearby as well. The unit was clean and very comfortable. The blackout curtains real helped me sleep late- something I normally don't do. Perfect for a couple. We hope to stay again.

There are so many things to see and do locally. We are in a beautiful tree lined area of gorgeous houses in a beautiful pocket ('the prestigious' Teneriffe Hill) although so close to everything, it is surprisingly tranquil and quiet. We also have a beautiful fairly private park with city view and bush walks located just around the corner, it's a great place to chill out with free BBQ area and playground overlooking the natural landscape, the bush tracks show you some native Australian fauna and flora. River walks are near by and are a great way to get around as well. There's so much to do within this local vicinity (easy walk away) that you will be spoilt for choice. Set amongst plentiful award winning cafes, bars, markets, restaurants, bakeries, butchers, nightlife, arts centers and a huge selection of many different restaurants, all within an easy walk away. There are seven (large and small) supermarkets within a 15 minute Walking Distance There is plenty to do here, in fact, you can walk to many different local attractions and facilities. At the end of the block is a local market with cafe section which is worth a visit. In fact, walk in any direction and you are bound to stumble upon cafes and shops etc of a high standard. Literally a five minute walk is the City Cat Ferry stop (these are very converted in Brisbane) and are wonderful to take you peacefully into the CBD, while you stand on the back of a high powered Catamaran boat (from 6am til midnight) and take in the sights as you travel the Brisbane River (AKA the River City) There are also lots of other buses that leave from even closer to our location. Next to the City Cat stop are the express buses into the CBD (called 'City Glider') in under ten minutes in peak hour. There are also other buses even closer to our location. If you want to go into the CBD then you can easily get there (to drive in peak hour is 5 minutes) walk in 25 via the river and under the Story Bridge. Or, if you want to enjoy the local attractions, there are certainly plenty of them within a 15 minutes walk. Next to the City Cat stop is Vernon Terrace, which is populated with lots of bars, restaurants, cocktail and beer specialist places, definitely worth a look. At the City Cat stop we then have a River Walk that takes you across the top of the water down to New Farm Park, a beautiful park on the River, home to the fortnightly large Farmers Markets and the PowerHouse which is a funky converted building housing plays, comedy, bands, art, talks and so on. Also, about ten minutes walk from our place we have the brand new Gasworks complex, complete with large Grocery Store, an organic market, chocolate restaurant and great cafes and eateries and worth a mention. The amazing historic Waterloo Hotel has been reopened and is very popular. The bar/restaurant has an Art Deco feel and is great to enjoy. From the house in the other direction, we also have the famous James Street within a five minute walk. It is lined with things to see and do, including palace cinema, pizza place, bars, restaurants, clothes stores, boutiques, farmers markets, cafes. Definitely the place to be seen and get seen, Can get quite busy on the weekend and people from Brisbane flock to this area. Not only that, we also have 'The Emporium' which is close to us and is filled with wonderful restaurants of the highest quality and amazing boutiques and stores. You can also walk to Fortitude Valley, which is the night life and weekend market district, which also has China Town Mall where there is amazing Asian Restaurants at good prices. In Fortitude Valley, there is a pedestrian mall with 24 hour food places and all your usual take away places. There are also some great places to get $8 steaks with all the usual accompaniments so it's worth a look. The weekend markets are fun and there are a few '$2 shops' here as well if you need any basics including discount souvenirs. Brunswick Street, Connects to our street easily and is lined with restaurants, bars, art galleries, take away food, burger joints, IGA, Night Owl Convenience store open 24/7. Next to the intersection with Brunswick Street and Kent Street (Our street) is the outlook of the story bridge where you can enjoy the park and amazing view and also start the *short cut into the CBD* from our location, where you take the footpath direct, which goes under the Story Bridge itself and through to the center of the city via a River Walk (ten minutes from park) You can take the City Cat (five minutes walk from our place) to lots of great locations around Brisbane including the famed South bank which is really wonderful including a huge swimming pool and a man made beach as you look at the city skyline, surrounded by free BBQs, amazing parkland, performance center, art gallery, museum, science center, gallery of modern art and state library, it's easy to catch the city cat back to here and it's open really late. Also, don't forget the FREE inner city Ferry! If you have any need to know a place to eat, just ask us. We also have a huge amount of menus out for your to look at (as well as brouchers of things to do) so be sure to check them out. There are wonderful getaways with an 1 hour or so's drive....and beautiful day trips to think about: options include dolphins, islands, rainforests, beaches, swimming and more. If you would like a lift to the airport it can be arranged for $30. These local places I've mentioned are so close, if you aren't walking there, you are looking at around a $5 - $10 taxi COOKING You get to cook for yourself and enjoy the top of the line kitchen with granite benchtops and everything you will need to cook. Not to mention the BBQ on the large upper deck and the second outdoor garden BBQ equipped with party lights and music facilities and Insect Vac protection. The apartment was immaculate and very comfortable with great views.     The garden is a dominant feature of the space. Both the deck area and the tea house provide views of the garden which is relaxing and private.     The neighbourhood is close to parks. The green space at the back of the house leads to a small park. Accommodation is spacious though bedroom and living area are separated by the deck, though this was not a concern. bed was comfy and the shower hot.   • This is a great place to stay. The guest area is very spacious, very clean, and has everything you would need. The deck is large and surrounded by a beautiful garden, including black bamboo. There's a large easement at the back of Annette's so it makes the big backyard seem even bigger. The bed is super comfortable. Annette was kind enough to welcome us for a month, as we await our permanent rental. It will be difficult to leave, as it is really a very relaxing and well equipped space. She also welcomed our dog, which I really appreciate. I highly recommend Annette's place, you won't be disappointed in any way.

  • It is even better than the pictures and description. Just a stunning setting. My husband, 22month old son and I stayed after our 23hour flight from the UK and it was quiet, serene, comfortable, clean and Annette had stocked the fridge with a variety of little things including some slices of home-made quiche which was just delightful! We will definitely stay with Annette again, and thoroughly recommend you do too!

  • I arrived in the morning before the check-in time. There was still another guest. But I was really sleep deprived and Celine was so kind that she pulled out the sofa bed that so that I could take a nap before the previous guest checked out. The location is great. It's very walkable to Queen Street and the Southbank. I spent most of the time walking unless I went out of the city. It's very near the train station as well. It makes arriving from the airport really easy. Celine is such a friendly and easy-going person. On the day that I checked out, it was raining and Celine was again very kind to let me stay in the apartment until the rain stopped. Celine's apartment is simple and clean. I had a very pleasant stay!

  • The apartment is 15-20mins walk from the city centre. We arrived at around 10 p.m. on that night. Greg was not at the apartment. He sent us a detailed check in instruction and information about the apartment one week in advance. He told us what would happening when we arrived...like two lovely dogs would give you a warm welcome to us when you open the front door etc. When we get to our room, we found that the whole room including the bathroom is spotless, tidy with a gorgeous view and large balcony outside which made us excited to stay. You may find many beautiful photos decorated around the house, you would be surprised after you know who take these photos. Unfortunately, during our stay, outside is just raining and windy. The bad weather did not allow us to go out. What fortunate is that Greg & her daughter were at home. We just cant stop chatting. That’s was amazing. Even he made a banana cake, he shared with us. In dinner time, we made some dishes and he made his own. We shared our dishes and have some culture sharing. Staying here was just an amazing experience for us.

  • Blake's Place right in the heart of the city is absolutely central to restaurants, shopping and public transport. Coffee shop next door to the building had great coffee and opened early, felt safe in the building with only key swipe for elevators and Aircon was great. The apartment was exactly as the photo's show and there were 4 of us. We cooked our own breakfast but also shops all around the Building that had lovely looking breafast. Queen St mall was the next street up and very convenient. Blake was very responsive with messages and checked us into the unit in no time. Excellent Wifi and all that you need for a comfortable stay. Will definetaly be staying again. Pub over the road if you feel like a drink and 7Eleven's all around.

River walks are near by and are a great way to get around as well. There's so much to do within this local vicinity (easy walk away) that you will be spoilt for choice. Set amongst plentiful award winning cafes, bars, markets, restaurants, bakeries, butchers, nightlife, arts centers and a huge selection of many different restaurants, all within an easy walk away. There are seven (large and small) supermarkets within a 15 minute Walking Distance There is plenty to do here, in fact, you can walk to many different local attractions and facilities. At the end of the block is a local market with cafe section which is worth a visit. In fact, walk in any direction and you are bound to stumble upon cafes and shops etc of a high standard. Literally a five minute walk is the City Cat Ferry stop (these are very converted in Brisbane) and are wonderful to take you peacefully into the CBD, while you stand on the back of a high powered Catamaran boat (from 6am til midnight) and take in the sights as you travel the Brisbane River (AKA the River City) There are also lots of other buses that leave from even closer to our location. Next to the City Cat stop are the express buses into the CBD (called 'City Glider') in under ten minutes in peak hour. There are also other buses even closer to our location. If you want to go into the CBD then you can easily get there (to drive in peak hour is 5 minutes) walk in 25 via the river and under the Story Bridge. Or, if you want to enjoy the local attractions, there are certainly plenty of them within a 15 minutes walk. Next to the City Cat stop is Vernon Terrace, which is populated with lots of bars, restaurants, cocktail and beer specialist places, definitely worth a look. At the City Cat stop we then have a River Walk that takes you across the top of the water down to New Farm Park, a beautiful park on the River, home to the fortnightly large Farmers Markets and the PowerHouse which is a funky converted building housing plays, comedy, bands, art, talks and so on. Also, about ten minutes walk from our place we have the brand new Gasworks complex, complete with large Grocery Store, an organic market, chocolate restaurant and great cafes and eateries and worth a mention. The amazing historic Waterloo Hotel has been reopened and is very popular. The bar/restaurant has an Art Deco feel and is great to enjoy. From the house in the other direction, we also have the famous James Street within a five minute walk. It is lined with things to see and do, including palace cinema, pizza place, bars, restaurants, clothes stores, boutiques, farmers markets, cafes. Definitely the place to be seen and get seen, Can get quite busy on the weekend and people from Brisbane flock to this area. Not only that, we also have 'The Emporium' which is close to us and is filled with wonderful restaurants of the highest quality and amazing boutiques and stores. You can also walk to Fortitude Valley, which is the night life and weekend market district, which also has China Town Mall where there is amazing Asian Restaurants at good prices. In Fortitude Valley, there is a pedestrian mall with 24 hour food places and all your usual take away places. There are also some great places to get $8 steaks with all the usual accompaniments so it's worth a look. The weekend markets are fun and there are a few '$2 shops' here as well if you need any basics including discount souvenirs. Brunswick Street, Connects to our street easily and is lined with restaurants, bars, art galleries, take away food, burger joints, IGA, Night Owl Convenience store open 24/7. Next to the intersection with Brunswick Street and Kent Street (Our street) is the outlook of the story bridge where you can enjoy the park and amazing view and also start the *short cut into the CBD* from our location, where you take the footpath direct, which goes under the Story Bridge itself and through to the center of the city via a River Walk (ten minutes from park) You can take the City Cat (five minutes walk from our place) to lots of great locations around Brisbane including the famed South bank which is really wonderful including a huge swimming pool and a man made beach as you look at the city skyline, surrounded by free BBQs, amazing parkland, performance center, art gallery, museum, science center, gallery of modern art and state library, it's easy to catch the city cat back to here and it's open really late. Also, don't forget the FREE inner city Ferry! If you have any need to know a place to eat, just ask us. We also have a huge amount of menus out for your to look at (as well as brouchers of things to do) so be sure to check them out. There are wonderful getaways with an 1 hour or so's drive....and beautiful day trips to think about: options include dolphins, islands, rainforests, beaches, swimming and more. If there is something particular you would like to do be sure to mention it to us as we may have some insider info for you. We have lots of information about things to see and do so if you would like some inspiration, let us know what kind of holiday you are looking for and we will make some suggestions and show you some flyers. The easiest train is Brunswick St Station (Fortitude Valley) which is where the night life is, this is one of the central major stops meaning you can go in pretty much any direction from here via train (including the Gold Coast, Roma Street Bus Terminal and The Airports) The train to the airport is a special train and is $16/each. If you would like a lift to the airport it can be arranged for $30. These local places I've mentioned are so close, if you aren't walking there, you are looking at around a $5 - $10 taxi COOKING You get to cook for yourself and enjoy the top of the line kitchen with granite benchtops and everything you will need to cook. Not to mention the BBQ on the large upper deck and the second outdoor garden BBQ equipped with party lights and music facilities and Insect Vac protection. WALKING DISTANCE TO SUPERMARKETS: (Small Organic Market and Deli 5 minutes, Woolworths 10 Mins, IGA open til midnight 10 minutes, ALDI 15 minutes, Coles 15 minutes, Organic Market Gasworks 10 minutes, James St Fine food Market 10 minutes plus 24/7 convenience stores all walking distance. THE HOUSE ITSELF: Upon entering through secure gated entry the house opens to reveal a large entertaining area/lounge/kitchen/dining area, open plan living with polished wooden floors throughout. The lounge has a great leather sofa, TV and foxtel cable television, designer rug, and has a great light and airy feel to the space. The kitchen is fully equipped, the granite benchtops turn the island bench into a breakfast bar complete with seating. Bifold doors open completely which takes you out onto the triple sized deck with views of the mini rainforest like tropical oasis we call the back yard. The deck has two table and chair areas and an umbrella overhead. The design of the BBQ area down the back is perfect for relaxing or entertaining. A hidden paradise to enjoy a great Aussie BBQ. The house has every modern convenience such as super fast wifi access throughout the property, complimentary cable tv, reverse cycle airconditioning, linen and bedding of a top quality and a fully equiped kitchen. THE ROOM The "tropical oasis" room is one of our best, large and spacious, it features a comfortable top quality double bed, timber headboard and clean high thread count linen. He collected us from the airport at a very reasonable rate and then returned us the following day very early in the morning.Despite our early flight time he never once insisted that we book a taxi. His home is immaculate and very (Website hidden by Airbnb) is located in a safe and quiet neighbourhood and is within easy access to downtown Brisbane. We would recommend his home to anyone who has Brisbane on their (Website hidden by Airbnb) was a shame we were only able to spend one night.     We live in a golden triangle of the city, the best part of the city. At our doorstep are the best restaurants, river walk, Queen Street Mall with its shops, Fortitude Valley with its night life, Botanic Garden, ferries to South Bank etc.

    Comfortable open plan space underneath old Queenslander. We have a spare 33 sq metres to offer fellow travelers that makes a great base to explore inner Brisbane. After a hard day exploring you are welcome to chill in our rainforest inspired garden.
    Our space has own street access, is airconditioned, has a double size bed, shower, toilet, fridge, microwave, toaster, tea/coffee facilities, fan, WiFi, comfy lounge and study desk (but No TV). On street parking permit can be arranged. What have other guests enjoyed about our place? Its private access, our garden, Daves hand man furniture, his artwork, the friendly dogs and the location. We are walking distance to just about everything Inner Brisbane has to offer. Kangaroo Point Cliffs are few 100 metres away; we are walking distance to the city; the art galleries at southbank and the night life in the valley. The space is underneath the main house with its own access from the street, so you are free to come and go as you please, but we are always happy to welcome you up to join us on our back deck for a chat. The space has a low ceiling so people over six foot two or two metres tall might find it uncomfortable. Also being an older Queenslander the floor above is wooden so you might hear us moving about upstairs. We do have high speed Wi Fi plus a collection of books on travel and other stuff you might find interesting but we are in a TV dead zone (very poor reception) so we have no TV. If your really hanging out for that special program on the box you might be disappointed. We also have two very friendly Huskies so if you do wish to explore our backyard you will have your own personal guide.
    Kangaroo Point is very close to the city but on the opposite other side of the river. Our space is walking distance to lots of attractions, Kangaroo Point Cliffs are 150 m away with amazing city views, the cafe with the best view of Brisbane, there are electric BBQ's and its a fantastic vantage point for watching Riverfire and NYE fireworks; the CBD is 15 minute stroll (850 m) to Thornton Street Ferry which leaves every 15 minutes during peak times. Gabba Cricket Ground home of the Brisbane Loins ALF club is 900 m down the road; 1 km towards the Valley you will find the Storey Bridge Hotel, one of the hippest pubs in Brisbane; Just across from the Gabba is the fine dining at the Logan Street Restaurants; Coles supermarket is also on the other side of Ipswich Road (1.1 km); South Bank with its dinning, parklands, city beach, GOMA, Museums is a 30 minute walk along the river bank (1.6 km away) and China town and the night life of Fortitude Valley is only 2.2 km away. We enjoy the walks and bike paths along the river and the view from the Cliffs as the sun sets behind the city towers.Sunset iIn summer we have the flying foxs flying overhead as they head into the city to feed on the native figs.

Shower is great too. The garden is lovely for breakfast in the morning and the bed super comfy. Brett and Dave were kind enough to invite me for a drink on their back porch to share travel stories, and also gave excellent local reccommendations. Kangaroo Point was a great area to stay in - taking the ferry or walking into town gave me a great feeling for the city of Brisbane. Will definitely be back if I can!

Offstreet parking for one car is available if needed, (I will put my car out) but there is plenty of free parking in the street outside for car caravan, boat etc. LOCATION Cannon Hill is located approximately 8kms from the CBD or roughly 15 minutes to the city or 15 minutes out to Cleveland and other bayside areas. We are only 20 minutes by car / taxi from the airport. Very handy to access both the Sunshine and Gold Coasts on the Gateway Motorway. There is a car rental office just around the corner! TRANSPORT Train: Cannon Hill Station on the Cleveland Line is 700 metres away. Bus: Route 227 to and from City stops around the corner - 50 metres away- all timetables available. Citycat Ferries: stop at Bulimba where there is a bus (Route 232) that comes to near our home. SEE TRANSPORT DETAILS. Airport or train station pick up can be arranged (small charge) if really needed. Well equipped kitchen and provided Netflix and Foxtel Play really are the cherry on top. If you're a bit of a history buff, take a walk through stunning South Bank to the Maratime Museum and tour the HMAS Diamantina, a truly fantastic experience. I did find it a little difficult finding dining options but that's likely me being fussy. I would definetly stay here again!

  • My stay at Ben's house was incredible, I stayed with my family and had the best time. Ben was a welcoming host and greeted us upon arrival. The place was exactly like the photos, super beautiful, luxurious and clean. The bed was comfortable and towels and snacks were also provided which was a bonus. We decided to check out the roof top during sunrise and sunset. Views were phenomenal and we could get a 360° view of the whole city! Apartment was less than 5 minutes from from King Street eateries and RNA (Ekka) showgrounds. We ended up walking to Emporium, another precinct with wonderful dining options. Queen Street Mall, the main hub of Brisbane city was also one trainstop away. Overall, we loved the place and couldn't recommend any more staying at Ben's airbnb for anyone who wants to experience Brisbane or just wants to have a weekend getaway!

We thought that the space here feels a bit like the best bits from a homestay (warm welcome from members of the family), hostel (interaction with other guests) and boutique hotel (high end, quality finish to everything). Claire is an incredibly welcoming, warm and helpful host. She introduced us to the house, gave us tips on where to go and offered us the use of bikes. The room itself was impeccably clean and the kitchen / lounge area is of a really high standard. We enjoyed cooking a meal and chilling out with Dean who was also staying. The area is fantastic - loads of great bars and restaurants a stone's throw away. Can't recommend this Airbnb enough, thanks again Claire.

  • Clare's place is fantastic in every way we can think of. My girlfriend and I stayed here for 6 nights and didn't want to leave (and not just because we loved Brisbane)! The set up that Clare has arranged is brilliant as you are downstairs in the seemingly Air BnB purpose built extension on the ground floor at the back of the property. This is separate from Clare and her family's living space which is great for privacy but also means guests have their own shower/bathroom and kitchen. Clare is always around to talk to and if you need anything you only have to ask. As there are 4 bedrooms in the Air BnB area of the house, you'll almost always have other guests staying with you, which allows for a great opportunity to meet and get to know some other people. The West End is also a great location, Aldi supermarket is only a 2 minute walk from Clare's front door and restaurants and bars not much further in terms of distance. We could easily walk to South Bank and City centre in 25 minutes and 30 minutes respectively. We always saw Clare doing some sort of cleaning pretty much every day and she is lovely to talk to and can give you great recommendations for where to go, what to eat etc. Will definitely be back as we loved Clare's home and Brisbane!

  • Clare is such a warm and wonderful person. She welcomed us with open arms, is very accomodating and helpful. Claire is always up for a chat and gives many useful advices if needed. The room itself is lovely decorated and the whole flat including kitchen is pretty well equipped. Unfortunately, the house is not soundproof. So it might get a bit noisy from time to time which might be an issue if you are a light sleeper. But despite of that we really enjoyed our stay at Claire's and would definitely recommend to stay there.

    Hi guys,this is a nice cottage located in a high end suburb just a stones throw away from the city and all amenities.You wont find a cheaper room this close to the city as a result we are listed as "budget accommodation" .we think the place is lovely. WE HAVE A LUXURY SEDAN AVAILABLE AT COST PRICE FOR CUSTOMERS STAYING WITH US. CHEAPER THAN BUS OR TRAIN ACTUALLY. See "getting around" section.prices listed.
    You have your own large private room. The pool,gym,bbq areas are at your disposal. The kitchen and all utensils are available also
    This is a very and friendly neighborhood.
  • Dave is super welcoming and his house is a little art museum. The room is spacious and it's walkable to the city centre. We had a great day and good talks with Dave and his roommate. Much better price performance than a hostel dorm. Dave's dog is adorable and we would recommend to stay here!

  • A Great and really cheap place to stay! It’s really close to the central of Brisbane- with the bus it takes only 10 minutes and by walking around 40 minutes. The owner is very friendly and we had some really interesting talks with him!We also used the whirlpool which was amazing and definitely to recommended!

  • The bed was an air bed with no proper sheets or duvets - this is not stated on the listing and it is sold as a bed. Kitchen was dirty, so was the bathroom. Flies everywhere - this is not the norm for Brisbane. Highly recommend putting an actual bed in or detailing on the listing that it is an air bed. Was very disappointed as has potential if cleaning was done and there was a bed. Wifi was good.

  • Dave’s place is an amazing value and a great location. The other rooms are rented out to other guests so common spaces are shared. The bedroom was nice and big! It could have been cleaner but for the price I really can’t complain.

  • Lacking with communication on what else could be needed during my stay. I easily ran out of frequently used cleaning items like dishwashing liquid, tissues, and front loader detergent. I'm not sure if they're supposed to be free. I just opted to buy additional supplies to help myself for 3 weeks.

  • Belinda's place was fantastic. Location is very central right in the heart of the CBD, close to the Botanical Gardens. I appreciated the easy communication with Belinda about moving back my check in time since I had some issues in my arrival time and had to push back check in. Excellent value for your money! The only thing is given the location there is not any natural light that gets into the apartment. Not a deal breaker by any means in my opinion. Would 100% stay again. Thanks Belinda!
