Places to stay in Natures Valley

Places to stay in Natures Valley
Natures Valley offers the best of both worlds - peaceful and unspoilt and yet within a stones throw of the vibrant Garden route towns of Plettenberg Bay (30km) & Knysna (60km). The village itself comprises of just 300 houses, a shop and a restaurant. It is unique in that it is completely surrounded by the Tsitsikama National park. Aside from the stunning beach there is a large lagoon, which makes it ideal for all ages.
The flat or tree house sleeps 2 people in one bedroom with a queen bed, the bathroom has a shower but not a bath. The open plan living area leads out onto a veranda with a table and chairs and a BBQ. There is a washing machine in the shed at the bottom of the garden, plus a clothes line that can be used, please note that the laundry is also used by anyone staying in the cottage. The flat is semi detached to the main house and so you may hear everyday noises from the house but we are not noisy and the flat is totally self contained and private.
Natures Valley is a small village of just 300 houses, with a pristine white sand beach on one side and the Titsikama forest on the other. There is a small convinience shop and restaurant in the village itself and a 5 minute drive will take you to a beautiful farm shop full of local produce. The Crags is a 10 minutes drive away and has wine estates, a lovely cafe with homemade food and numerous animal sanctuaries and experiences as well as kloofing. Plettenberg bay is a 30 minute scenic drive away and is full of boutiques, good restaurants and cafes, as well as being the hub for activities such as sea kayaking, surfing and dolphin and whale watching cruises. There is a lovely farmers markets on a Saturday where you can mingle with the locals and buy fresh produce and crafts. Knysna is less than an hour away and is a vibrant quayside town. Home to many artists. Storms River is 45 minutes away and is another stunning place to visit for the day. If you are after adrenalin activities, it is here you can do black water tubing, canopy tours, skegway tours and bungy jumping.
  • Very nice accommodation in the middle (literally) of trees. Very quiet area with 5 minutes walk to the fantastic beach. We recommend!

  • The Treehaus is a super-equipped, separate living unit with its own access and great roof terrace for lingering and barbecuing. Sally is very accommodating and nice and we felt very comfortable here. Unfortunately we were only here for one night - the next time we would like to stay longer.

    Katharina2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Super nice accommodation, very nice host and a good starting point for some hiking routes.

    Patrick2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really nice stay at Sally's guest house. The place is very clean and had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend.

    Sophie2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic spot. We loved sitting on the deck under the trees, and really appreciated the king sized bed! Close to the beach and the lagoon, and overall perfect for a couple. Sally even left some of thoughtful touches to help with load shedding. Highly recommend.

  • You will thoroughly enjoy staying in this lovely treehouse apartment in the charming village of Nature’s Valley. Well laid out and a very well equipped kitchen for self catering and doing a braii. We enjoyed a morning coffee and evening sundowners on the ‘deck in the trees’. Sally is a charming, helpful and interesting host who will answer any queries you might have. If you have an interest in mobile Botswana safaris, she will be glad to help you out as well.

    Graham2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • It was the second time we stayed at Sally's place and we loved it. We enjoyed sitting in the treetops on the wooden terrace and listening to the birds and the sounds of the forest. It is close to both beach and hiking trails.

    Anne2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay with Sally very much. The tree house is cosy and equioed with everything you need. Sally is friendly and very supportive. I could easily stay here indefinitely.

  • The best Airbnb you can find. We had an amazing time! Location is great, equipment very good, lovely terace and details. We loved our time in this special getaway! Communication and checken was very easy! We would love to come back!

    Lukas2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • I would not no where to start, other then, make sure you book a few nights!! You will not want to leave after 'just 2'. This place is everything the pictures and reviews tell you AND more!! Showering outside, surrounded by the songs of the birds, enjoying coffee with a view on the deck, cooling down in the little boatpool or just get lost in allll the details Keegan put in this place. From the books, to the posters, to all the solar lighting and more, you won't be disappointed. Keegan is a great host, easy to communicate with, check-in and out was very hassle free and layed back. We had an awesome stay and would recommend to everyone!

    Esther2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is absolutely the best accomodation I found in South Africa. The location was really cool in the middle of the nature, inside a private reserve and really close to some animals sanctuaries. Keegan is extremely friendly and he helped us immediately when we had issues (for example when we couldn't find the accomodation as it's a bit hidden). That's the perfect place to relax a bit in the nature, it's really comfortable and cozy, it has everything you need for a pleasant stay and I loved the natural products that were there (like the body wash, body lotion etc.). Unfortunately we only stayed there one night, but I wish we could have stayed longer. Next time I would choose it again for sure

    Elisabetta2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible experience! Beautifully designed, comfortable and in the middle of nature! We loved it!!! Keenan also took us on a great walk along the beaches, and we spent a super nice day! We can only recommend this place!!! We hope we can come back soon.

    Kath2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Overall an amazing experience in this totally unique, carefully designed place that really makes you relax in the middle of nature. Check in and out very easy, and the way to the place was not too difficult due to the detailed info provided. The best recommendation we could give is: spend more than one night there!

The Crags, Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape, South Africa

The beautiful log house is ideally positioned in the heart of the Garden Route and Tsitsikama Nature Reserve and forest. 50 meters away from the beach and lagoon. It is well equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, 2 braai facilities, large outside deck and all usual appliances. The house accommodates up to 6 guests. The indigenous garden is enclosed.
There are no supermarkets in Natures Valley itself and so stock up with food en-route or in Plettenberg bay, before arriving and don't forget wood / charcoal and firelighters if you want to braai (BBQ). For a top up shop there is a farm stall 5km's away and a filling station and shop 10 Kms away in the Crags.
Natures Valley is a small village of just 300 houses, with a pristine blue flag white sandy beach on one side and the Titsikama forest on the other. There is a small convenience shop and restaurant in the village itself and a 5 minute drive will take you to a beautiful farm shop full of local produce (Natues way farmstall). Famous hiking trails start and end here, like the Otter and Tsitsikama trails. Experience beauty and nature in its fullest, with sights like the Knysna Loerie (indigenous bird) on your front porch, the breathtaking Salt river mouth a mere 2 km hike from the shop and the Groot river mouth and lagoon as your view, to name but a few! The Crags is a 10 minutes drive away and has wine estates, a lovely cafe with homemade food and numerous animal sanctuaries, like Monkey land, Birds of Eden, Elephant Park; and experiences like kloofing, hiking, treetop canopy tours and more. The beautiful Storms river mouth is a scenic 30 minute drive. For adventures like white river rafting, black water tubing, canopy tours, sea canoeing, bungy jumping and walking on the famous Storms river swing bridge. • Great spot close to the river and lagoon. Lovely view from the top deck. Easy access.

    Barry2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time staying here - the house is spacious and a great base from which to explore the stunning Nature’s Valley. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the views of the lagoon from the deck. Hope to be back soon!

    Sam2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying here! Everything was clean, and the house had everything we needed. Communication with the host Mariaan was quick and easy as well. And Nature's is just one of my favourite places.

    Clayton2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • A very comfortable house in a stunning location. Good beds, functioning showers, clean, very spacious- good value for the price. This is a great choice for family with children- lots of space to play in and outdoor. Nature’s Valley is strict on light pollution, so better make sure you don’t arrive after dark. Otherwise self check in was smooth and communication with Marian was very good. I recommend this house to anyone wishing to spend quiet time in nature- we enjoyed our stay there very much and wish it could’ve been longer.

Nature's Valley, Western Cape, South Africa

This charming, well appointed double story duplex unit provides accommodation for 6 persons in 3 upstairs bedrooms. Its' downstairs living/dining room and kitchen flow onto a north facing deck and garden. This accommodation consists of a duplex complex of two interlinked, but separate town houses, close to the lagoon and the exquisite Natures Valley beach. An ideal place to holiday on your own, or have your friends or relatives next door! Welcome to paradise!
This is a well equipped and delightful townhouse unit, supplied with crockery, glasses and pots and a gas cooker, electric oven, dishwasher and washing machine. Eclectic antique furniture give it a lived in but elegant feel. The main ensuite bedroom has a very comfortable queen size bed (with lovely white linen) and the upstairs veranda, accessible from the two double bed bedrooms, is a wonderful retreat, with views of the Tzitzikamma mountains.
Natures Valley consists of 100 local residents, but expands to accommodate 5000 holiday makers in the summer festive season! Just out of high season is perhaps the best time to visit, which in summer is wind-free and balmy, although the cooler months have their own charms. The best place to buy bread, cakes, cheese, coffee is the amazing Natures Way, a coffee shop on a farm just up the pass on the way to Plettenberg Bay. For the adventurous further along is a snake park, a bird sanctuary, forest canopy walking and even game viewing!
  • Lola's house is lovely. Comfortable, well-equipped, thoughtful decor, and spacious. The beds and bedding are great and the house was spotlessly clean. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking in and the Nature Valley cafe is also a good option. We enjoyed lounging in the outdoor spaces - deck and patio - watching the Knysna Turacos fly among in the trees. The house is a quick, easy walk to the gorgeous beach and hiking trails around Nature's Valley. Highly recommend Lola's house and Nature's Valley. Side tip - do yourself a delicious kindness and make a stop at Nature's Way Farm Stall on the R102 as you are driving into Nature's Valley.

    Lisa2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Nature's Valley. Great accommodation in a wonderful setting. We look forward to returning in future.

  • Lovely place to have a relaxing holiday, close to the beach and lagoon. Lots of birds & deer visited the garden. We used the weber regularly. Never met Dawn (local manager), but it was easy to collect and drop off the keys. Very enjoyable stay.

  • We had a lovely time in this beautiful piece of paradise!

    Jannie2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Natures Valley is such an amazing place! This perfect little villa is located close to the beach - which is perfect if you want to walk around and explore. The house had very good quality cutlery and crockery. The space was clean and the wildlife in the area makes every moment special. We enjoyed our stay!

    Marlee2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely stay in this beautiful space (and its garden, where we were even visited by a deer.) Highly recommended for nature-lovers for its quiet and peaceful surroundings, but it's just as nice to be inside the house as outside.

Nature's Valley, Western Cape, South Africa

Fall asleep with the night sounds and memories of fireflies dancing in the gentle embrace of an ancient African rain forest... The space is likely to leave you with unforgettable memories indelibly etched in your memory.
We have different types of accommodation, so please enquire, even if the calendar appears blocked out. We can accommodate up to 9 guests at a time, depending on availability of course. If you are travelling through Johannesburg/Gauteng area, also please note that I have also recently listed my Johannesburg home on AirBnB. Like my forest home, it is a very cool space and can accommodate between 1 and 7 guests. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10431511 Our home is situated in the middle of the rain forest on an Nature Reserve on the Garden Route, about 25 kilometres from the holiday mecca Plettenberg Bay en route to the exquisite enclave of Nature's Valley. The home was designed (and lived in) by architect Jonathan Weinberg in an unique eclectic style, which can only be described as a fusion of luxurious Zen forest treehouse meets historical forest mining house. The home is built on the side of a forest hill, about 3 kilometres from a particularly unspoilt and wild part of the sea. The hill and forest protects the home from the coastal winds and creates unspoilt views of the rain forest and Tsitsikamma mountains for literally as far as the eye can see. African Rain Forest Experience 1 is an open plan cottage, which is fully equipped for self-catering. It is an open plan space with a double bed, sleeper couch for an extra adult guest or for 2 younger children, kitchenette, its own shower and private toilet, an intimate little garden with a zen sandpit, and it has a viewing deck that appears to flows out over the forest. It has a fridge/freezer, microwave oven, gas stove, cutlery, plates, cooking utensils, etc. It also has a small Weber braai/barbeque for outdoor cooking. A fast hike through the forest, gets you to a mystical beach in a little more than hour, depending of course on how many of the forest sights will gently delay your walk. As also described, all our listings are all fully equipped for self-catering and also have portable braais/barbeques. Please arrange your own charcoal and fire starters? There is dam about 400 meters from my home to cool down in on hot days, and we are only a few hundred meters away from exquisite hiking trails, which are extensions of the famous Otter Trail. You can also book the following other accommodation: 1. The main bottom part of the forest house, which can accommodate 2 up to 6 guests in two sleeping areas each with a double and a single bed (see African Rain Forest Experience 2 at www.airbnb.com/rooms/10110584). It consists of several spaces all on decks like a treehouse, all connected via elevated wooden walkways and patios suspended in the air in the forest. It includes a completely self-contained open plan main living area, with a double bed and single bed, work space, private lounge, large kitchen and dining room area. It has a second master bedroom with a double bed and a single, as well as a separate private Victorian styled bathroom and shower, private toilet and washroom area. The wash room has a washing machine and tumble dryer. 2. The main bottom part of my forest house, plus this cottage, which, altogether, can accommodate up to 9 guests (see African Rain Forest Experience 3 at https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10138192).
We are five kilometres from the N2 national highway. The N2 is one of the four most important road systems in South Africa. It connects Cape Town with Port Elizabeth via the Garden Route where we are and then onwards to Durban. Our neighbourhood is about 15 houses in a 140 hectare Nature Reserve. Only one of the other houses can be seen from our home to the far right hand side almost out of view. You will be surrounded by some of the most exquisite nature and vistas anywhere in the world. Your immediate day light neighbours will be monkeys, Knysna Louries, Sunbirds and others birds, lots of them, 280 species of them. At dusk the fireflies appear and at night the nightjar, an owl or two or a bush pig family will keep you company, together with the Southern Cross, the Milky Way and a billion stars. We are literally only a few 100 meters away from the Tsitsikamma Nature Reserve, with its world famous Otter Hiking Trail. Several day hike and mountain bike extensions of the Otter Trail starts within 5 minutes of our home. We are only about 2 kilometres away from Teniqua, 3 kilometres away from Monkeyland, Birds of Eden and the Elephant sanctuary and Africanyon Adventures. We are about 20/25 minutes away from the pristine beaches of Keurboomstrand and Nature's Valley (A Blue Flag Beach). Along the pass down to Nature's Valley you can see giant Avatar like Yellow Wood trees that are 800 years old. A short distance down Keurboomsstrand is the Matjies River bushman Rock Shelter and Shell Midden, which dates back 11 000 years to the Neolithic Age. We are only 23 kilometres away from the highest commercial bridge bungy jump in the world, where the N2 crosses the Bloukrans River. We are further within 15 - 45 minutes' drive of all the numerous tourist attractions along the Garden Route and about 3 hours' drive from the famous Addo Elephant National Park outside Port Elizabeth.
  • Well worth a visit

  • For everyone who is looking for an adventurous stay in the forest with an amazing view of the mountains should book this accommodation! Kobus gave a lot of tips regarding hikes and restaurants and was always quick in responding.

    Franzisca2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Kobus' accommodation is really nice. Above all, the view from the terrace is unique. Kobus also gave us lots of tips on what to do in the area.

    Pia2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Kobus’s place is really cool! If you enjoy the outdoors, this is a great place to stay. It felt somewhat like a “glamping” experience! Just note that this place is really out in the forest and there aren’t many restaurants or stores nearby. We recommend bringing bug spray. My boyfriend got stung by a wasp several times. Besides that, our stay was really fun and we really enjoyed the adventure activities in the area!!!

    Jackie E.2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little cottage in a very quiet area. You’re all by yourself so please be aware to have food and drinks with you ;) you can see the sun rising from the terrace and at night a pretty impressive sky with a lot of stars. The communication was quite well with a lot of tips. Keep in mind that you are sleeping in a nature cottage so there can be spiders and so on or a monkey in the morning ;) was a perfect stay for a little „me time“ so I can fully recommend when you’re looking for that :)

    Patrizia2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation is located in the middle of the forest: perfect!! We enjoyed it very much. We did not meet the host but he gave us many tips and responded very quickly on our messages. Thanks again!

Nature's Valley is the Garden route's best kept secret. Here, tucked-in between the sea and the forest, you will find this newly renovated and extended beach house. The house is modern, spacious and filled with light. Large windows serve as picture frames, bringing the outside in. The kitchen is open-plan to the dining- and living space with french doors opening out onto the large deck with garden and mountain views. The tranquil lagoon and enticing beach is less than a two minute walk away.
The double volume entrance lobby, lures one up the staircase, along the uniquely curved timber wall, to the heart of the house. There are two bedrooms upstairs, each with its own bathroom and doors leading onto the deck outside. (Sleeping arrangements are somewhat flexible -The main bedroom has an extra single bed, suitable for a child up to 12 years. This bed can also be moved onto the deck and utilized as a day bed or moved to the third bedroom downstairs.) On ground floor level, the entrance lobby leads off to the games room and the spacious, en-suite, third bedroom, with french doors to the private garden. There are also a guest toilet, a laundry room and an outside hot and cold shower for your convenience. In the garden, you will find a rustic braai area under the trees with its own little bit of magic. The property is not fenced-in to allow wildlife to roam freely. Bushbuck are a regular sighting at dawn or dusk and at night, the bushpigs sometimes come to forage for food in the garden. On the deck, the elusive Knysna Loeries often pays a visit in the surrounding tree tops. The house and its magical surroundings, invite you to put your feet up, breathe a little, live a little... Welcome to "Entre Mer et Fôret"!!
  • A stay like in the early days of Airbnb, when places were privately rented instead of solely commercial. Bibis place is a true Family home, filled with everything you could possibly need on your stay from beach umbrella to toys to small plastic bags to store your kid’s takeaway lunch. Thus, the house provides a perfect dosis of comfort in a close to untouched nature environment. If you fancy Cape Town’s fancy restaurants and vineyards or sightseeing venues, please stay there. In Nature’s Valley, there’s just this magnificent beach. Please be kind and don’t tell anyone. 😉

    Hinnerk2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot recommend Bibi's place highly enough - very caring and thoughtful host, excellent communication, beautiful home integrated into the forest, excellent amenities, lovely quiet garden and bird life, in the best part of Nature's Valley, 2 minutes from the beach and lagoon, extremely comfortable and generous spaces, lovely welcome treats that we kept discovering!! Everything that you could want from a holiday in Natures Valley.

  • This apartment is beautifully furnished and I can see all Anita’s personal touches. The beds (high quality)and the bed linen (good percale cotton count) as well as a good shower are the most important things to me. You passed with flying colors. Then the location and the layout of the apartment is priceless...... Two areas 1. patio outside the bedroom and 2. The patio at the BBQ area made for nonstop “kuier”. We had such a good time, thank you...... Being a chef, I am always critical of the kitchen equipment. In your small, compact kitchen I managed to prepare everything I planned. All the essentials are there To prepare a lovely meal. I could easily stay in you apartment for a longer period.

  • If you are looking for fantastic hosts, and a unique and beautiful location this is it. Anita & Hein have a superb home, well thought out facilities with unique touches throughout the apartment. We throughly enjoyed our 4 night stay in Keurbooms, a beautiful location, ideally placed to tour spectacular areas of the Garden route. Locally Keurbooms is a beautiful, unspoilt area, miles of great beaches, superb wildlife and a visit or two to Enricos is a must. We highly recommend "Forest @ Sea" if you are looking for the experience of a lifetime. Many thanks, Jim & Julie. X

  • The location is excellent A beautiful view from the terrace and the garden has a meditative effect. We were very pleased with the birds and the Knysna Lourie, pure nature, you feel like you're in the middle of the forest. Anita and Hein are very attentive and friendly hosts who gave us good tips and were always available with advice and action. We always like to come back

  • As a family with two small children (5 and 2 years old) we had four nice days in the cozy apartment of Anita and Hein. The two are extremely hospitable and take care of the well-being of their guests, so we got good tips for trips to the surrounding area on a rainy day. The location of the apartment is absolutely ideal for child-friendly excursions on the Garden Route. We particularly liked Birds of Eden, the Jukani Wildlife Center, the beach walk to Arch Rock and the breathtaking hike in the Robberg Nature Reserve. Everything can be achieved in a maximum of twenty to thirty minutes. The restaurants and farm stalls for all meals in the area are great and Anita and Hein give you very good tips, especially which places the children will like. The apartment is equipped with everything you need (oven, hob, microwave, fridge, grill) and basic things like salt, pepper, shower gel, etc. are provided. The two bedrooms are next to each other, so that one bedroom is a through room. It's great for families. Not so great for couples traveling together on a multi-day stay. The children had a lot of fun with the beach toys and other toys in the apartment. They found the “banana bird”, which visited us regularly to eat small pieces of banana, particularly funny.

  • We had another wonderful stay in Forest@Sea. Hein and Anita are exceptional hosts. Their hospitality and welcome was superb. The place is spacious and very comfortable, with spectacular views from both the veranda and the garden patio. There is so much nature to experience that we stayed in all day on a couple of occasions. It's such a peaceful and restful place that we didn't want to leave. But we will be back again next year.!

    Heather2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Anita and Hein provide the perfect home from home base to explore this wonderful area. The accommodation they offer is comfortable, clean and very well equipped. It offers amazing views and is situated in the middle of the forest.. so if you enjoy peace and quiet and wonderful birdlife on your deck, then this is the place for you. Hein and Anita are warm and welcoming hosts, and I would thoroughly recommend them.

    Sandy2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Truly wonderful tranquil location. Fantastic hosts. Great value

    Brian2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had two very relaxing nights in Anita and Hein's accommodation. The two are great hosts and give valuable tips. The apartment is very spacious and equipped with everything you need. Especially the balcony where you can enjoy the sunset or watch birds is great. The place is a good starting point for activities in the area.

The Cottage is situated 9 km from Nature's Valley on a family-run working dairy farm. It is surrounded by indigenous forest and pastures, with views of the Tsitsikamma mountains. The cottage consists of a basic kitchenette, lounge, bedroom and bathroom, as well as a patio. Activities in the area include hiking and walking trails, birding and beaches, wine tastings, polo fields, animal sanctuaries, farmstalls, canoeing and more!
  • Lovely cottage where freshly picked flowers were waiting for us. Comfortable beds and fully equipped. Unfortunately at one night we heard the continuous sound of raindrops on the aluminium (?) roof while it wasn’t even raining that hard. Earplugs were helpful. The food & service at the farm stall is excellent and we enjoyed the beach of Nature’s Valley, Tsitsikamma national park and a Robberg walk. We would definitely recommend this cottage.

  • Anne is a very kind and helpful host. We had a wonderful stay in her lovely little cottage. Every thing was perfect. The staff at breakfast were very kind and hospitable. Her family too. What a pleasure. The cottage was warm and inviting. The setting beautiful and close to the sea and Nature's Valley. Hope to return in the not too long away future.

  • Lovely cottage on working farm. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen & a shower with a superb view of the garden. The farm stall on the farm has everything one needs.

  • This magical little cottage offers a quiet getaway set on a dairy farm. I have never slept so well. The lowing of the cows, crowing of the rooster and general sense of wellbeing leaves you feeling refreshed. Close to ample mountain biking.

    Alex2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Anne's Farm is perfectly located between Plettenberg and Tsitsikamma National Park. So much for the great location. The rest is even better: the little cottage was a highlight of our trip, it's beautiful and super comfy (it just rained so we spent a lot of time in the cottage) and you feel like you're in a tree house in the middle of the woods his. Anne also greeted us very nice and showed us everything. The breakfast in the farm shop and cafe as well as the lunch snacks and cakes were also amazing. We will definitely stay here again for a next SA holiday. One of the best AirBnb's ever.

    Annika2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a great experience staying in Anne‘s Cottage on their family farm. We loved everything from the warm welcome in the farm store, the great food we bought in the store for dinner all up to watching the fun animals on the farm.

A delightful and rare find, this original wooden cabin is within a popular secure estate 100m walk from the beach! The simple life awaits! Sleeps three happily. Two additional floor mattresses are in the loft (accessed by ladder / suit young kids only). This is a nice little place - not fancy, but it has a great vibe - new kitchen, quality bedding, superb mattress - it's all about priorities, and here the priority is beach living and restful nights. Small is beautiful!
North facing - sunny and bright! All accommodation is upstairs, this house is on stilts. Our cabin is popular with young families as we have swings, a trampoline, and a simple playground in your garden below. It has a double room with a good quality queen mattress, plus a small single bedroom as well as an exciting mezzanine loft, with ladder access to two floor beds. Sleeps 5 in total. Will suit two adults, the other beds will be just fine for kids but not for your mother in law ;) We have a camp cot with cot linen for little ones. We also have a highchair. The brand new kitchen has stone countertops, new gas stove , new oven, microwave, kettle and a large fridge and freezer are provided, as is all linen (quality), bath and pool/beach towels. The simple bathroom has a bath (no shower), toilet and basin. It overlooks an ancient Milkwood forest. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer in the laundry unit below the cabin. Limited Cellphone reception. (this may sound annoying but I promise you this is the only way to actually have a break these days). The most special thing about our cabin is that is has direct walking access to the beach - not often found in our area. This means you can enjoy your morning coffee watching the waves, and enjoy that last sunset swim at 7pm just before dark (in summer :)
Milkwood Glen is a popular choice, it's right on the blue flag Keurbooms beach. You will have neighbours on each side. The back of the cabin is wild - just milkwood trees and bush. There is a pool in the Estate, but the beach is really the place to be. There is a viewing deck on the beach, which is great for a takeaway supper ( Enrico's Pizza on the deck is hard to beat) Runners/ cyclists will enjoy the 10km cycle path along the scenic Keurbooms road.
  • We loved our stay at the beach cabin! It is in a lovely, quiet, very safe neighborhood at 2 minutes from the beach. Ideal for children with toys and a play garden, a high chair, everything available. Fully equipped kitchen, microwave. Good tips for activities. Perfect stay!

  • If you are looking for a great place to relax and unwind, then you should not look any further. This cabin is well positioned close to Plettenberg Bay but far enough to allow you to feel like you are the only ones there. The local restaurants serve great food and the opportunities to explore are almost endless. Make the journey and take the time to soak up the quietness.

    Mark2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was wonderful and Cindy is an absolute great host! The House is really beautiful and perfect with young kids. We didn't manage to see the dolphins but maybe we just didn't get up early enough. Even though, trying to see the dolphins made us having wonderful breakfast at the endless Beach.

    Benjamin2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderfully chilled place by a great beach. It's really well hosted too...great communication and a friendly welcome

    Ian2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Beach Cabin is charming, well thought out and ideal for a family or small group to enjoy Keurboomstrand for a few days. The beach, a short walk away, is a stunner and generally empty. Definitely worth a visit.

The Hideaway at Hillandale is a modern cabin tucked away in the forest with complete privacy and spectacular forest and mountain views! Enjoy amazing birdlife, tranquility and beautiful walks. Feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, but only 5 minutes to stunning beaches, 10 minutes from Plett and 10 minutes from the Crags, Plett Winelands and a host of amazing wildlife places! With so much to keep you busy locally, it is a treat to come back to the Hideaway and feel away from it all!
The Hideaway is a brand new, off the grid build, tucked away out of sight near the bottom of our ridge. It has all facilities for a very comfortable self catering stay. It has a fireplace with endless firewood available as well as a large firepit for those wishing to barbecue and enjoy outside eating. Guests are welcome to explore our land, there is some beautiful hiking and riding all around us!
As much as being here feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, we are extremely conveniently located and have access to a range of top class restaurants and shops! We are within 3km of the amazing Enrico's restaurant on Keurbooms beach and within easy access to all the Plett and Crags eateries too. Moss and Maple Farm stall is within walking distance and Thyme and Again Farm stall only 5 minutes drive. The Plett Winelands, including the amazing Newstead and Bramon vienyards, are only 10 minutes away! We have a wide range of local wildlife experiences, including Monkeyland, Birds of Eden, The Snake park and Jukani, to mention but a few! For horselovers, Hog Hollow is just down the ride and they offer regular guided tours. Kurland hotel is also within 10 minutes and it hosts regular national and international polo tournaments, which are great fun to watch!
  • We agree 100% with our previous. If it were possible, we had given 6 stars. We are still so lucky to have made the decision to go to Hillandale Farm in those crazy times. We as a family (2 children) spent almost 2 weeks there. Cathryn responds very quickly and is an exemplary host with her whole family. The farm is very easy to find. Completely self-sufficient, huge and nevertheless you are at shops, restaurant and sea in max 10 min by car. The accommodation is brand new, totally stylish and there is nothing missing. The view is overwhelming and around the farm or Plett is a lot to explore! What we especially liked: you had your privacy if you wanted it and if you wanted there was always someone to chat with. So if you are just passing through, or want to stay for several weeks, we tell you. Drive to Hillandale Farm

    Martina2020-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately we weren't able to make full use of our booking due to unforeseen circumstances but Cathryn was superb in both the pre-trip booking as well as helping us deal with our urgent change in plans at the last minute. Would certainly recommend to anyone looking for an amazing place to stay on the Garden Route.

  • Thanks again for hosting us! We are already back home, but still thinking back to the great time we had at Hillandale Farm! It was definitely the best accommondation on our trip in ZA! The House looks even better than on the pictures! We loved the view from the Livingroom down to the forest as well as the view from the big window in the bedroom into the pure nature. If we come back to ZA someday, we will definitely stay at Hillandale Farm! Anna & Mathieu

    Anna2020-03-12T00:00:00Z

  • Cathryn's place is possibly the nicest airbnb I've ever stayed in - the location on the hilltop with amazing views, the amenities, beds, bedding, little thoughtful touches made it an extra special stay. We cooked at the place for quite a few nights and it had everything we could possibly need for a good bbq. We will definitely be back.

Bayerley is a horse farm based in The Crags, a growing wine area on the outskirts of Plettenberg Bay. The Crags has become famous for it’s polo, wine and adventure tourism, and Plett of course can boast some of the best beaches in the world. Our barn conversions aim to be simple with a bit of luxury.
The rooms are fully serviced including laundry service. Please feel free to walk around the property (closing gate behind of course!) there are canoes on the dams also.
Polo, wine, adventure!!! We have the very handy Crags Superette at the N2 turn off (about 1km) that you can get all your basics at.
  • It was wonderful! It's a beautiful stay! And the hosts are absolutely great! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • My stay at Alicia's was absolutely perfect. It was perfect getaway I need to get some work done in a quiet, peaceful environment. Definitely take her up on the offer to roam around the farm and go for a swim in the dam. I will definitely stay here when back in the cape!

  • A hidden treasure in the heart of the crags. Best accomodation views so far. The serene area is the perfect getaway for relaxation and unwinding in the natural beauty of the area. The roaming horses are a bonus and can be viewed from the veranda at sunset or while you enjoy your morning coffee. I'll go back any day.

  • Beautiful setting on the farm surrounded by amazing views and gorgeous horses. Very peaceful and quiet place to stay and relax. Alicia is a lovely friendly host and would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of staying at the farm for a few days. The flat is maybe a bit basic but don’t let that put you off, the surroundings more than make up for the lack of a TV. Looking forward to staying with Alicia again soon.

  • We would definitely recommend to stay at Collins lovely place. The house is beautiful with the horses in the back and the pool. We did feel really safe and relaxed. When we had bad weather for a day we took a bath in the amazing bathroom with view in the garden. Colleen and Fred has been also super helpful and friendly. For us it was like a stay at the place of our grandparents. Also to get to the national park Tsitsikama or Plettenberg Bay it's perfect.

    Lisa2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Colleen's place was absolutely magical. The location was ideal for all the wedding events we were attending and the unit itself is next door to a wine estate, surrounded by a beautiful garden which we loved to take a stroll in. The cottage is spacious and was filled with thoughtful touches - Colleen made sure we had everything we could possibly need. She is a fantastic host who is incredibly kind and attentive. If you get the opportunity to stay in this lovely airbnb, grab it! Thank you for the wonderful space you have created Colleen!

  • We had the best Airbnb experience with Colleen on our South Africa trip! We loved everything about our stay here. It was so great talking to Fred (Colleen's husband), he made us feel at home! :) The place is a few kilometres away from the main town, but it is totally worth it! The joy of catching the early morning sun and the evening sunset right from the deck is just incredible :) We'd certainly stay here again if we are in Plett.

In the heart of the Garden Route. Newly renovated flat with private entrance. 100 meters away from the beach. Around the corner from shop and restaurant. You will be totally private. We live down stairs and to the back, you upstairs to the front
We are situated near the beach and the bush and the restaurant in the Garden Route.
Nature's Valley is the only settlement inside a National Park.
  • Hands down the best place in Nature’s Valley! Just pack your clothes and go, all the amenities that you need and more. The place is very modern, exceptionally clean and well maintained. Great location close to the beach, shop and restaurant. Second time we’ve stayed with Ilse and it just keeps getting better, you cannot ask for a better and more caring host. No need to look any further than Kamma-Otter if you want to stay in the Valley.

    Hennie2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • A quiet, relaxed retreat, very close to the sea (and the only restaurant in town), with a host who is attentive but not intrusive. Highly recommended.

    Damon2019-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Ilses place lies imbedded in the forest right next to the beach. The house is clean and Ilse was very helpful. We recommend Ilses place to anyone who likes nature and the beach.

  • I can't recommend this spot highly enough! Very peaceful and stunning natural beauty. So much to explore and do in the surrounding area, but her home is also so relaxing and a vacation unto itself! Amazing picturesque beach just a short walk away. We are booking our next South African vacation here for sure!

  • Great location! Perfect for a beach holiday!

    Angela2018-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • When planning a trip to SA nobody recommended Nature's Valley to us or Tsitsikamma but that would be maybe my number one recommendation if I were talking to friends about doing a trip. One of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen with great hiking around in the area. The house was perfect location to experience it all and I hope I can come back and stay there again some day.

    Dan2018-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the best places we have stayed at! Spacious and clean. Close to the beach and restaurant. IIse is a great host. She let us do laundry and borrow a canoe. We had an extremely relaxing 3 days!

The cottage is very well located and you can make great day trips. You have a lot of space and a fireplace, if you like to cook, you can do it in a very well equipped kitchen. It is not far to the beautiful beaches. A paradise for those who love the extraordinary!

    Chantal2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED our time on the farm! We had such a warm welcome and found the cottage to be decorate for our honeymoon. The staff gave us veggies and fresh eggs. The farm is outside of the city but is a nice change of pace with a perfect braii to use in the evenings. The animals are all friendly and will spend time with you if you encourage them! The cottage is huge and well stocked with spices etc for cooking! Thank you to everyone who made our time so special!!

    Conner2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We are very thankful for our great time on your farm. We had many animals around and around, cats and dogs were adopted and very friendly guides on the farm. Everyone was helpful and really made us a great fire. It was a bit cold at the time we were there, but thanks to the possibility to heat the comfy bed we slept almost daily - because it was so cozy. Who loves a Fram and horses and the feeling of freedom is just right! Tip - the care farms of the animals in the area.

The location was really great, super close to the beach and to salt river trails, and the apartment had everything we needed. We didn’t meet Annette but she made sure everything was fine and gave us some good tips for the area. Would definitely recommend this place.

A beautiful, light wooden cottage set on a horse farm. The cottage overlooks a dam and is flanked by majestic mountains and green pastures. The Nature's Valley beach, lagoon and hiking trails are just a 10 minute drive away. The farm itself has many activities available such as stunning walking/cycling trails, river pools for swimming, rock jumping, horseback outrides, polo lessons and more.
We are in an area rich with tourist activities for families (Monkey Land, Bird World, etc) and have some acclaimed wine farms such as Bramon and Newstead.

  • Beautiful farm setting close to many touristy sights. We loved waking up to the bleating of the sheep. We had hoped to do some horseback riding there but they are not currently doing that as Alex has a new baby. The kitchen is well equipped and the hosts brought us some fruit and veggies from their garden and some fresh farm eggs.

The self catering cottage sleeps 4 people in 2 bedrooms- Bed 1 - king bed and Bed 2 - 2 single beds. Ideal for a small family. The cottage is fully equipped including towels, beach towels and all linen. There is a table and chairs on the covered patio plus an open seating area with a BBQ There is a separate laundry with a washing machine and clothes line that can be used, please note that the laundry is also used by anyone staying in the treehouse/flat. The cottage is behind the house, it is a private and semi secluded space of your own, however you will be within sight of the main house and walk past the house to reach it. You might be interested to know we also have a Treehouse/flat which sleeps 2 in 1 bedroom, so depending on your requirements we can sleep 6 people between the 2 units, however this would be at an additional cost, if that is of interest please contact me directly.
If you are after adrenalin activities, it is here you can do black water tubing, canopy tours, skegway tours and bungy jumping.
  • This is a lovely, compact, private cottage with incredibly responsive hosts (Sally's husband helped out quite a bit). One feels as if one is staying in the forest, with vervet monkeys and knysna loeries passing by and occasionally stopping to observe the humans in their environment. We stayed over with our 1-year-old and 3-year-old and they loved the cottage.

Bayerley is a horse farm based in The Crags, the emerging wine area in the outskirts of Plettenberg Bay. The Crags has become famous for it’s polo, wine and adventure tourism, and Plett of course can boast some of the best beaches in the world. Our barn conversions aim to be simple with a bit of luxury.
The rooms are fully serviced including laundry. Please feel free to walk around the property (closing gate behind of course!) there are canoes on the dams also.
Polo, wine, adventure!!! We have the very handy Crags Superette at the N2 turn off (about 1km) that you can get all your basics at.

  • We had such relaxing stay in the Firefly Cabin. It was hard to leave our comfy bed and beautiful view to explore all the amazing trails and nature nearby. The location is perfect if you want to explore Nature's Valley, Stormsrivier or Plettenberg Bay. We absolutely loved it and wish we could have stayed longer.

    Jamie2019-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sue's and Albert's place is simply the greatest and was one of our absolute highlights doing the Garden Route. The hut situated in the South African rainforest is furnished in a very charming and matching way, it is super cozy and has a nice view over the rainforest. There's also a fireplace next to it and a swimming pool in 1 minute distance. What more can you ask for!? Highly recommended!! Thank you for having us and see you again next year hopefully ;)

  • Super great accommodation in an idyllic location. In the morning there are deer that can be fed with apples. By car you are quickly at tourist hotspots. We got a cot for our baby without having previously ordered it. We felt very comfortable!

  • We loved this place in this quirky little town and our hosts were great to chat to. Next time we'll spend more time and hopefully get a chance to explore the beautiful river own at the end of the property.

Rustic accommodation located on the hillside with the most beautiful views of the bay. The uninterrupted sunrises over the ocean are amazing. We’re close to the shops and the beaches and because we have no immediate neighbours it feels kind of rural.
The rustic ground floor apartment offers sea views from your bedroom. The main bedroom is en-suite and second bedroom shares the bathroom. There is a mini-kitchen suitable for preparing light meals. The property is situated on the hillside and surrounded by natural vegetation. The property is a small holding so we have no immediate neighbors and it feels kind of rural. We’re 2 minutes away from the shops and about 5 minutes away from the lagoon and Lookout Beach. (Please note that the property is situated on the main N2 Highway so there is road noise...we hope the view makes up for that)
Plettenberg Bay is a beautiful seaside town located on the Garden Route.
  • The place is nice and cozy, with everything you need for a wonderful stay.

    Sisiphosethu2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place and very nice view. The road noise is not at all disturbing as it is quite far away. The accommodation is spacious with two beautiful bedrooms. Renee was very welcoming and very responsive.

    Manuel2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay, the view was amazing from both rooms! very good location too. We had a nice welcome as well!

    Taoufik2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Top location with great views over the beach. A little louder through the street, but hardly annoying. Would definitely come back. Worthwhile!

    Tim2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Roomy space in great location with two bedrooms! Great view, but be mindful that it’s just of the highway so there is traffic noise. Other than that great value for the price!

    Eelke2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Nice house overlooking the sea. It's a great home for a family of 4 or 2 couples. Both rooms were nice with double beds and the whole room was neat. The only downside is that the house structure is a bit weird. (The toilet is not in a public space, but only one of the two rooms, so I feel like I'm going to the bathroom of another person.)

    Soojung2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place with an amazing view. Renee is very nice and reactive

  • If you are booking this, BEWARE: you‘re living on a farm. But don‘t be afraid. It is very nice on the farm. The Check-in went perfectly. Someone came for us and showed us our room and gave us the keys. The furniture is a little bit old an rusty, but it looks perfectly fine within the atmosphere. We loved the atmosphere and the sounds of the animals while spending time on the farm. It‘s a good place for animal and nature lover, who want another refreshing Airbnb experience. Vanessa gave us really great tips for our trip through South Africa. We would love to come back someday! :-)
