Welcome to your (earthen) home away from home! This earthen home was constructed by Mr. Bill Adams, a direct descendent of Pres. John Adams and a veteran who served in the Allied occupation of Japan following WWII. Going further back, this was one of the first areas to be settled. It was part of the "Sims Settlement" and was defended during the War of 1812 by James and William Slaughter. Settlers farmed the fertile land near Indian Creek, now called the Indian Creek Greenway - 4 mins away.

Our second home is a mix of mid-century modern and "cabin in the woods." It sits on 2 heavily wooded acres and backs up to a mountainside with rock outcroppings. The main living area (living room, dining area, and kitchen) is raised about 4 steps, and the bedroom and bath areas are on the main level. There is one large bathroom with a shower. There is an electric fireplace surrounded by ledge stone in front of the u-shaped built-in sofa. There is abundant reading material & 2 TV's.

If you are looking for a place to find rest and relaxation this is it! Our cottage offers peace and quiet with gorgeous views of the property. Located off the beaten path away from the hustle and bustle, we are only 10 min off of Interstate 65. Drive time to Madison 25 min. Drive time to Huntsville 30 min. Drive time to Decatur 15 min. **we are updating the bathroom in January 2022. There will be a tile shower, but no tub anymore **
