  • Pat&Paul’s cabin was beyond perfect ! There were three of us and the space was a great size,as well as very clean and well-kept. Pat and Paul anticipated all off our needs and then some. They have everything you need for an off the grid weekend up north. And the view of the river and the woods was incredible. I would recommend this place to anyone ! We plan to return one day. ( Muffins were delicious.) THANK YOU...

  • We had a great time staying at Pat and Paul’s cabin. It was very quiet and cozy, even in the middle of a snowstorm. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and we loved the welcome muffins and note. We definitely want to come back and experience this place in the summer.

  • You would think after 5 stays at this cabin, I would be running out of things to say but...there's ALWAYS going to be something nice to say about Pat, Paul, and their cabin in the woods!!! If you are looking for a place to feel like you are at a home-away-from-home, you have found it here! Do yourself a favor, stop looking, and click "reserve!!" The warmth in the cabin during the winter months is not just from the heat, fireplace, blankets, etc..it is from the hearts of Pat and Paul and everything they have done to make the cabin PERFECT!!

  • If you love the outdoors, this is the perfect place. Very close to two ski resorts, and near several great Michigan trout streams. That’s what brought my boy and me there. Great fishing over the weekend on the local streams, and a relaxing atmosphere at the end of the day for the two of us. I recommend and would book again. Thanks for sharing, David!

    Denee2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing. It was a perfect little place for my fiancé and I to get away for a weekend. It was only 15 minutes away from Crystal Mountain too which is where we went during our stay. The oasis was so nice for our stay. David left some nice snacks for us to enjoy which ended up coming in handy for our ski trip. The oasis was a perfect size for us to and it was so cozy with the fireplace and comfy blankets.

Cute and quaint, our chalet is located in a beautiful area across from lake Mitchell in a friendly neighborhood. Nearby attractions include golfing, boating, swimming, skiing, delicious food and so much more.

  • Cute comfortable and cozy! Brenda even let us check in early to enjoy the area longer! Definitely will be back during the summer months :)

    Bee2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • From the great communication with the host Brenda to the perfect location of the A-Frame, our trip was just great. The cabin is located right off the lake near multiple hiking trails and eating locations. The downtown area is a quick drive and any last minute needs can be found at the gas station a short walk away. Would highly recommend this place for any couple trying to slow down and getaway.

    Thomas2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect quaint Chalet! Very clean and a stones throw from Lake Emmit(maybe a hundred feet away and you can see it beautifully. Did fall color sightseeing, pumpkin patch, and local eateries, but chalet comes with all the amenities. Dishes, stove, refrigerator, dryer, coffee pot, utensils, towels, soap etc. Only thing I would like to see different is maybe a 3 panel privacy fence to block off backyard on the side that faces the road where gas station is. Just to have more privacy for sitting around firepit it in back. Otherwise perfect place!

    Michele2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda was a great host! We had a lovely weekend during this fall season. Great location and beautiful space! Highly recommend!

    Marlena2019-10-20T00:00:00Z

Everybody needs a getaway! In the heart of the Manistee National Forest is the perfect quiet "getaway". Whether you are looking for an adventure, family or romantic getaway - this house has everything you need. Come enjoy the peaceful serenity of the forest and Seaton Creek. Close to hiking trails, ski resorts and the lakeshore. Sit in the gazebo and read or rest while listening to the babbling creek next to you. Beautiful space to relax, seek out adventure and enjoy those you love most.
Minimalistic tranquil space designed to help people reconnect with themselves, nature and loved ones. This is a very cozy home with two large bedrooms, full kitchen as well as living and dining space. This home is right on Seaton Creek. The house comes with five acres of land and is connected to both the Northern Michigan Retreat (home right next door to the west on ten acres) and adjoins to thousands of acres of the Manistee National Forest. You can be as unplugged as you wish here. Listen to the creek, go for a long hike, take a nap or enjoy the company of your loved ones. Please make yourself right at home. You will have everything you need. All you have to bring is personal items and food. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers and families. There is no wifi and signal can be slight. A two car garage is available for your use as well. Their are two trail heads within 1.5 miles away. The Manistee River Trail and the North Country trail offer spectacular views. The Manistee National Forests holds thousands of acres of federal land for guests to explore! The Pine River is very close as well as a few golf resorts. Also a great place to snowshoe and cross country ski in the winter! ***The house is thoroughly cleaned after every visit by a wonderful lady from the area. We separate each stay by 2 to 3 days to allow for the house to be thoroughly cleaned and prepared for next guests. Other details: -The wood stove provides ample and cozy heat, but if that's not your thing, we also have auxiliary heating that will keep you toasty -Private deck and gazebo with beautiful view of Seaton Creek -Modern Amenities: electric stove top, fridge, running water, hot shower, indoor toilet, dish washer, washer/dryer -Includes all bedding and towels - bring beach towels if you desire -Hiking/ Biking: access to several trails in the area with nearby access to both the Manistee River Trail and the North Country Trail -Firepit: creek side fire pit with firewood -Charcoal grill available for your use -TV is available in bedroom closet on a roll cart. Bring some of your favorite DVD movies to watch
You are tucked away in the Manistee National Forest yet close enough to M37 for easy routes to hiking trails, ski lodges, Traverse City, Cadillac and the lakeshore. You will not feel completely isolated as their are a few homes in the area.
  • Simply amazing. What a wonderful, calm, holiday getaway! We loved the solitude of the woods, the beauty of the creek, and the comfort of the wood burning stove (wood was available when we were there - weren’t sure before we went so we almost bought some at Meijer but there was no need). We rented an AWD car for the trip because we weren’t sure how our Prius would handle the roads. We now realize it would probably have been totally adequate, BUT we were glad to have it in this case as it snowed 6 inches on our first night. After that, travel to Cadillac (over some gravel roads) would have been much slower and more difficult without the rental. So keep that in mind if you visit during the winter!

    Erik2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect little woodland retreat!Jennifer's place is clean, cozy and just what you'd expect from the pictures. It was nice to walk outside to the noise of the creak running through her back yard. My wife and I enjoyed being unplugging for a bit and warming up next to the wood burning stove after a long day of skiing. Super peaceful.

    Jamie2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This property is stunning. The woods and creek behind the house are absolutely amazing. It’s a quiet, well-maintained home. The house itself was beautifully furnished with extra touches that didn’t go unnoticed. I loved it here and hated to leave. Thank you for such a lovely experience.

  • If you are looking for a serene getaway, look no further! It’s a great place to de-stress and to get off the grid.

    Bobby2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had been looking for an excuse to check out the Manistee River Trail, and Jen’s place was conveniently located close enough to the trail head, and far enough away for us to unplug and unwind after a day of hiking. We were a bit surprised to see all of the trails that connected just behind the house as well, and spent our first night checking out the property and relaxing in the screened in porch. This was a perfect getaway for an unplugged weekend full of exploring, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here!

It was clean, provided a mini-fridge, microwave, sink, dishes/silverware/glasses, and so much more than we had planned! Check-in was quick and easy—even though we didn’t check in until 10pm—and there was a binder of information + local places to visit if we were interested! We were incredibly pleased with our stay!

Cool Creek Cabin is located within the Manistee National Forest, along the bank of cool creek. The property is 10 acres with a nice trail that leads to the creek and a private bridge. The property is heavily wooded with many old growth oaks and poplar trees. There are many outdoor opportunities located near the cabin such as pine lake recreation area, the Big M cross country skiing and hiking trail system and many great trout streams and rivers. Come unplug and relax up north at cool creek cabin
The cabin is a small cozy one bedroom that has recently been updated.
  • Michael and Lindsay were incredible. He gave me tips for local fishing, responding almost immediately to all my questions. The cabin was so clean, he even had a nice note for us and music playing on his vintage player when we arrived! I am a first time air bnb user and I am hooked because of my experience with Michael and Lindsay. Not only did he sent tips but he sent me screen shots and exact locations of where to go, and step by step directions. I so appreciated that because we’re not from the area. The place was immaculate and sparking clean. Nothing out of place, not even one speck of dust. There was a very fun game that the other guests had started where they hid dollar bills around the cabin with clues in the guest book. We loved it!! Overall the trip was so perfect. It was quiet and peaceful and so relaxing. I give this stay and this host and location a 1000/10 rating. Thank you so much Michael and Lindsay!!!

    Kate2020-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Michael was very communicative and his property is incredible. Very secluded and has a large lot in the back that you can hike around and hang out near the creek. The cabin itself was amazing and very clean. Large space so if you have dogs they'll have a blast! Very close to some great hiking and within an hour drive from a ton of great areas in Michigan. We went to Empire and Sleeping Bear, Manistee River trail, among other places. Would definitely recommend! This place was perfect for myself, girlfriend, and our two dogs! Make sure you read the journal and binder for tips and tricks from previous guests.

    Nicholas2020-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is adorable and has everything you would need. Perfect for a couple and our two dogs absolutely loved walking the trails and splashing in the creek. We will be back!

    Sarah2020-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Don’t hesitate to book here. We really enjoyed our quite weekend in the woods and loved that we could bring our dog without an issue. The space is very clean and cozy. Kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to make meals and the bed was very comfortable. Mike was a great host and returned all my questions timely. Thanks again.

    Melissa2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time at Michael’s cabin, and the experience was just as excellent. Quiet, relaxing and incomparably peaceful, this property feels all too easy to call a home-away-from-home.

    Cade2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cabin in the woods! Many nearby trails. The thoughtful touches in the cabin were greatly appreciated! Perfect location for our outdoor adventures! ( Even though the race at big M was cancelled) we will be excited to stay here again!!

    Andrea2020-03-15T00:00:00Z

  • We really loved our stay at your little blue house -- it was exactly what we needed. The accommodations and special touches you placed throughout the home were so thoughtful, and really made our stay that much more special. It was the perfect mini getaway -- even with disappointing weather, we found ourselves feeling excited to stay in and watch movies. No matter what you're looking for, this place is perfect.

    Brett2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was an amazing host. Everything was carefully though of including snacks in the pantry and orange juice in the fridge. Every little thing was thought of and that made the stay even better. It rained the day before our ski trip and Mary offered is a free night so that we could ski on a nicer day. The location was great with the ski slopes and a distillery down the road. Great value overall. We would for sure return!

    Nicole2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Mary’s place was perfect for our ski trip. The place is perfect for 2 people to stay comfortably. It was amazing for the price. So close to skiing and also a short drive away from a local pizza place. Mary’s place was stocked with water and 2 yogurts when we arrived. This was such a great surprise, as we arrived late at night and did not have time to go to the store before waking up to ski the next day. I really appreciated Mary’s quick responses Iver text during our stay and leading up to arrival. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area and especially those visiting Crystal Mountain. We definitely want to return next year! Thank you Mary!

    Madeline2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Marry was an outstanding host, could count on a response within 5 minutes anytime we needed something. Location was amazing, we went skiing at crystal mountain that was under 5 minutes from our stay. Everything we needed to make dinner was there and could not have asked for a better weekend away!

    Brandon2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Crystal Hideaway! Mary communicated with us ahead of time and let me know that we were her first renters and that’s why there were no other reviews yet. She was able to be flexible with the check in/out time, which made our stay so nice. She met us when we arrived and showed us around the cabin. It was very clean, had a washer and dryer, full kitchen with all of the pans, utensils, and sharp knives needed. There were spices, coffee, condiments, shampoo, body wash, laundry soap, and just about anything you could have needed. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom even had a space heater if you needed it. She recommended a great restaurant and told us places to go in the area. We cross country skied right across the road on the state land that connects to Crystal Mountain. We downhill skied and used day passes to go to the pool/sauna/hot tub at Crystal, which was only a quick mile drive away. It’s a great place for two people and we will definitely be back!

This is a studio cabin in a very secluded setting. The cabin is adjacent to our primary residence. It is located approximately 3.5 miles from Cadillac, MI. This area has year round outdoor activities such as golfing, hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing (downhill and cross-country) and snowmobiling.
The cabin can comfortably fit 2-3 people. It is a studio type setting with a (separate) bathroom, kitchenette, near full-size refrigerator and stove. We do not have good internet so we are unable to offer WiFi. There is a TV and a DVD player in the cabin. The Cadillac area has so many year-round activities. The cabin is 5-10 minutes from two lakes (Lake Mitchell and Lake Cadillac). There are places to hike, bike and run; the cabin is close to a trail head for a paved portion of the White Pine Trail. The cabin is in the perfect location if you want to launch various day trips to Manistee, Traverse City and beyond. In the winter, you are near Caberfae Peaks for downhill skiing, close to lakes for ice-fishing, and close snowshoeing trails. There is plenty of room to bring a snowmobile trailer onto the property and launch snowmobiles from the property. You will be less than a 1/4 mile from snowmobile trail #35.
The property is in a very quiet, wooded area with a feel of being in the middle of nowhere. In reality, we are only about 6 miles from “Cadillac West” where you’ll find a bowling alley / bar, a more up-scale restaurant (Lakeside Charlie’s), McDonalds, coffee shops and gas stations. The property is a couple miles from about 1,000 acres of Federal land and about a mile from a snowmobile trailhead.
  • The place is so wonderful we stayed again to get in another weekend of skiing and snowshoeing. I would recommend to anyone looking for a more private stay in the Cadillac area.

    Molly2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the cabin for a quick ski trip at caberfae peaks and loved it. It’s exactly as pictured. The cabin is cozy and the hosts are very thoughtful. I would recommend.

  • Great space for a weekend getaway! Super clean and comfy and had everything we needed. It feels secluded yet is close to town and nearby activities. Would definitely recommend!

    Kate2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful experience. We prefer a more secluded location when visiting the area and this cabin provides that and much more. It was an easy drive to Caberfae and other Cadillac attractions. There was plenty of space and all the amenities we needed were included. We especially liked the hooks for our gear and other belongings. There was local area information on the table and a trail map on the wall. The hosts were also very quick to respond to any questions. We look forward to more trips up to Tustin!

This is the perfect location for “social distancing”. We are located in a beautiful country setting on eight acres of rolling hills. You will experience beautiful sunrises and amazing sunsets. For star gazers this is the place for you! Our bunkhouse is very uniquely decorated by my husband with many nostalgic interesting things throughout. It has beautiful custom made tables created by him as well; including a television stand, bar/seating area and a bench.
Motorcyclists welcome with garage parking available. Our bunkhouse has a fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator and stove. It has a private bathroom with a walk-in shower.
Our bunkhouse is located just 15 miles South of Traverse City and 5 miles from the Interlochen Arts Academy. Just a short drive to Lake Michigan or the Big Manistee River for hiking, biking, swimming, kayaking and the Sleeping Bear Dunes. There are also many wineries and breweries in the Traverse City and surrounding areas as well as great eating establishments. Also the Grand Traverse Commons is a great place to visit.
  • The place was awesome. The views from the porch should be seen. Everything was as described. Jim and Brenda were friendly and helpful. Plan to stay next year.

    Tina2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda and Jim were amazing hosts! They were so accommodating and would go out of their way to meet your needs! They're truly the most gracious down to earth folks I've met. Highly recommend if you're looking for a nice place to stay in the area.

    Aaron2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda and Jim went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home. They made sure to tell us of the popular places to see and had plenty of brochures and books to inform us of the area. The homemade treats were an added bonus after a long travel day. The bunkhouse is absolutely adorable and both dogs are stunningly gorgeous. We could not have asked for better hosts nor a better experience. Thank you so much Brenda and Jim! You both are a blessing!

    Nicole2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda and her husband were wonderful hosts. They were so warm and inviting and the place was really great. We could not have had a better experience. I would recommend for a couple or a family with two kids.

    Mark2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay and close enough to many places but not in a busy area. I loved the location and hospitality. The bunkhouse was cozy also.

    Tylor2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The Real Deal. We had a fantastic stay at the Bunkhouse while in the area for a Wedding at nearby Cobblestone Farms. Brenda and Jim are great hosts. I knew from a phonecall that: 1. They knew what they were doing. 2. They have thought of everything. 3. These were people that I want get to know. But what I could not have known from the pictures and a phonecall was just how BADASS the Bunkhouse was. I've never been on the open road on a Harley, but the Bunkhouse made me want to hit RT66 on a chopped Hawg and leave it all behind. The Bunkhouse decor is rich with authentic open road art and weathered nostalgia. I got lost while studying all of the souvenirs, photos and art. Many amenities included from firepit to wifi. From home-baked treats to 2 Husky therapy dogs (upon request) lol. So, if you're looking for great rate, an impressive property and meeting salt of the earth people, the Bunkhouse is for you. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Thanks Brenda and Jim for such a special and memorable stay. Until we meet again, may the wind be at your back and the sun upon your face. RIDE ON! Pat and Nancy - Livonia, MI

    Petey2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved staying here. It's a great alternative to paying high prices for a hotel in Traverse City. Brenda was a incredibly welcoming host. Had baked goods waiting for us at check in. Place is in the country but they did a great job mid marking the place. Easy to find if you're coming back at night thanks to the purple reflectors set up at the end of the driveway. Nice touch. If I come back up next year, I'm definitely looking this place up again.

  • Beautiful place and great house, the only thing is no WiFi

    Jinxin2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful house, lots of special touches. We really enjoyed the solitude. The only negative was that we visited during hunting season, so were not super comfortable about going out on the national forest trail with our dogs. Otherwise, we had a great time and would re-visit without hesitation.

  • Amanda was a great host , everything you need is here, it was peaceful and quiet but not not far from attractions if need be We had family Christmas there and hopefully will be doing it again next year.

    Carmen2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed for two nights and were so sad when we had to leave. It’s cozy, inviting and the location is amazing. We hiked for three hours, enjoyed the spring water, and building a fire. Amanda communicated with us well and the place was so clean. I loved little touches throughout the home such as the compost bucket, the firewood in the garage, and my favorite: the yoga room. This is the place to getaway from it all, to connect with nature, make a meal, and relax in the living room. It’s a gem.

    Nika2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda’s place is absolutely wonderful. We were looking for an escape from the city and a quiet place to enjoy the colors of fall- this is definitely the place for that! The stream in the back was so enjoyable and the local hiking was fantastic. The house was very clean and has an amazing fireplace making it very cozy. There were two of us and there was plenty room for several more. Amanda was responsive and warm. And Our dog loved it just as much as we did! We would love to come back!

    Katie2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect getaway for our honeymoon. A beautiful retreat to recharge and refocus. The fireplace was warm and cozy and we had everything we needed! Love it!

    Kevin2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Place was as described, peaceful, and relaxing. No internet or cell service - had to drive about 5-10 minutes closer to a town to plan our days activities (but this was clear in description). Made breakfast in the full kitchen and had all necessary tools. Being in the woods, it was surprising that there weren’t more bugs in the house.

    Kevin2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I recently had a wonderful stay at Amanda's Airbnb. We wanted to get away from the daily traffic and the noise of everyday life, so we chose her lovely home. What I loved the most was being so close to the river and being able to reconnect with nature. I was able to take some lovely photos of the natural settings surrounding the property. This is truly a place to sit back and relax, but you are also a short drive to towns such as Cadillac city, Frankfort and Beulah, MI for shopping for dining out. I know you'll enjoy your stay.

  • Scott is a great host and a craftsman, his Tiny House is a work of art! The place is super clean with everything you would need. We celebrated our anniversary and had a very relaxing time. We had dinner in the Tiny house both nights as it has everything. I am a big guy and the shower was plenty big enough. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The way he re-used some materials when building the Tiny house was really cool. The heating system worked very well . Bed, bedding, pillows and towels were all first class. Yes the Tiny House is on Scott’s home property but we had total privacy and really never knew he was there. It was a great location for our color tour and Scott really helped with places/routes to go. I would highly recommend Scott’s Tiny House for a single traveler or couple looking for a quite peaceful place in a great central location to get to a lot of cool places!

    Mike2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The "tiny house" exceeded our expectation. What a beautiful place and great location. When in the area again, will definitely stay here again.

  • The tiny house was much more than expected! Would definitely like to stay here again. The pictures are not even close to showing all of the detail in the home. Scott was very welcoming and it was interesting to hear about the history of the tiny house and why he built it. It was nice being able to go to traverse city and downtown Buckley. Would highly recommend this place!

  • What a perfect home for a beautiful stay near Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes! Scott’s tiny home was even more beautiful in person — so comfy and cozy. Very comfortable bed and a nice hot shower..what more could you ask for? Scott was so warm and welcoming when we arrived and gave us a tour. It was awesome to hear how he built the house and the detailed touches he put into the space — you could tell how much of his heart went into building this home just right, and it was an absolute pleasure to stay there. Scott was very quick and responsive in communication leading up to the trip, gave detailed instructions on finding his home, was great with local tips, and left it up to you once you were there on how communicative you wanted to be. It was a great experience from check in to check out and we hope to visit again!

We live in the woods, close to nature. It's dark and quiet at night. You might hear coyotes, frogs, owls, or whippoorwills. The air smells wonderful. We're near lots of outdoor activities and Traverse City is 15 miles away. We're close to US 131: a convenient stop on your way north, or your way south. We can recommend activities, restaurants, and provide support for cycling, paddling & hiking. We heat with wood and a dog and cat live here, so people with asthma or allergies may have problems.
Our house has grown with our family in the 40 years since we started building it. The house is basic. Our guestroom/library contains bookshelves for our always changing collection, and the piano and other musical stuff. The windows face east, so there's often quite a lot of morning sun. There is no grass or pavement, so sometimes the dog and cat track in sand. There is plenty of food for insects, so there are some bugs---and also birds and spiders that eat bugs. Our house isn't large, and for some there may be not enough privacy.
We have a few neighbors, but mostly the houses here are spread out. If you are out taking a walk you may meet them, either on foot or horseback. They're friendly, and enjoy the outdoors.
  • This is my second time staying with Katy and Dennis, and I stayed for three nights in a row. I wanted a peaceful TC vacation and that's exactly what I got! Katy and Dennis are so hospitable and kind, and their pets are amazing and so sweet. My favorite parts of the day were often comign home early (lol like 9pm) and putting on my PJs and fuzzy socks and drinking tea with Katy in the main room while she worked on her things and I wrote in my journal. I loved conversations with Dennis over beer or coffee, and of course their property is amazing. I LOVE staying here and will certainly be back! This is one of my favorite AirBnB spots of all the ones I've ever been at, and Katy and Dennis and Ginny and Lacey are a big part of why that is!

    Huma2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • I really had a great time in the little cabin in the woods. Dennis and Katy are very welcoming and lovely hosts with an adorable house which instantly makes you feel home. I highly recommend this to people who want to come done and relax

They welcomed us into their simple, quiet home on a beautiful property that is thick with nature. • Jeanette and Pete are such great host. They answered any questions we had and the stay was wonderful! Would definitely recommend for anyone to stay here if they’re in the Traverse City area.

  • Jeanette and Pete were amazing! Very thoughtful and welcoming, and the space is wonderful and relaxing! We wish we could have had more time to stay and enjoy their property and the lovely sauna. Lots of good information and recommendations for surrounding areas, as well. Would love to visit again.

  • We were only in the area for one night and felt lucky to have found “Peace of Paradise”! It’s a beautiful, quiet location set next to owners home yet felt very private. Cozy decor and very clean. Thankful for the nice experience! 🙂

  • Pete and Jeanette's guest house was perfect for my wife and I this past weekend. We were looking to enjoy the Traverse City area and tour a bunch of the wineries, and this was in the perfect location outside the city and at a great price! We weren't able to fully take advantage of all the amenities due to our short stay (and the weather on Sunday): pool, sauna, weight room, or even their huge property which would have made for an enjoyable walk, but the time we did have was very enjoyable. Next time we are in the area we will definitely return!

    Drake2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • A nice quaint cabin with perfect ambience. Clean, well kept and full of the necessities. No need for cable or internet. Enjoy the peaceful setting. Close enough to TC and other nice Communities for quick trips or visits. Enjoy!

  • I absolutely loved this cabin! It was only 30 mins from traverse city. It was perfect for a romantic getaway. The cabin had everything except WiFi. Overall it was an awesome stay.

The perfect cozy getaway for two people. This quiet country property is only 15-20 minutes from downtown Traverse City. Explore the miles of nearby trails, spend the day touring wineries and breweries or just relax by the campfire. With easy access to trails and lakes, bring your ATV, UTV, dirt bike or boat. An easy drive to nearby attractions lets you take short day trips to beaches, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes and neighboring towns.
  • This is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for a quite comfortable space to relax. The fall colors were beautiful around us, and there was even a bonfire pit and seating in front of the house, which was a nice touch. Ellen was very kind and helpful, and met us when we arrived to show us the house and let us know where we can find anything. Very quick to respond to text when we had a question, and accommodating to letting us stay a little longer to finish getting ready. Would definitely recommend!

    Joshua2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Ellens place is perfect, little cozy home in the middle of the woods away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Everything you need is in the house. We were very happy with our stay and hope to come back for a longer one!

    Christy2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen's place was clean, cute, and perfect for a quick call getaway. Secluded from the busyness of town but not too far away. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again in the future!

    Emily2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful get away off the beaten path. Host had thought of every detail like extra firewood. We enjoyed a fire both evenings. Had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend!!

  • This tiny house was exactly as described. It came with all bedding and amenities that you need to stay overnight. The host Ellen was very accommodating. We had a great time.

  • Beautiful location, the host was phenomenal, and the Tiny House was absolutely the cutest!! Perfect space with all the right amenities ❤️

    Kayla2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • We love your tiny and cosy house in the forest and the quiet under the tree. The clean and well equipped accommodation is beautiful. And we enjoy the nice fire pit. Thanks.

  • Ellen is a nice hostess. The tiny house was clean and she warmed it up for us since it was a chilly day when we arrived. We appreciated the magazines about the area and the maps. We were able to relax by a fire after spending a full day exploring. The area is peaceful and short drive to Traverse City.

The Pickeral Palace is set on a quiet, peaceful lot on Pickeral Lake. This is a no-motor lake located next to all-sports Fife Lake. The cabin features an older section with a unique cedar-wood kitchen, a more modern living room, 2 bedrooms and a full bath. The living room and master bedroom have sliders to a large deck that has a commanding view of the lake. Modern, fully-equipped kitchen and laundry facilities included. Quiet relaxation awaits.
Rental includes use of rowboat. Lot has a firepit with firewood supplied. Forks for Smores, hotdogs and pies are in the porch. Charcoal grill on the deck. Stereo and DVD player in the living room.
Fife Lake is a small town surrounding very clean Fife Lake. The Loon's Nest is the place for breakfast, featuring their homemade bread. Next door is the Ace Hardware that has everything once could ever need plus they know everyone in town. Fife Lake Inn serves up good pizza, burgers and deep-fried perch. The town also has a great library. This area is close to well-known snowmobile trails and the North County Scenic Trail. Fife Lake is about 45 minutes from Traverse City and Elk Rapids with their exceptional restaurants, wineries, breweries and distilleries.
  • Gordon’s house was everything my family and I wanted and more!! There was a minor issue and Gordon was prompt about fixing it. I have family right down the road so location was perfect. Kids loved the lake, especially since it was frozen when we stayed. Gordon really thought of everything- baby toys, DVDs, games, grill (and charcoal, you’d be surprised how many places don’t include the charcoal), and so so so much more. This will be our first choice anytime we are in town visiting family.

  • Was a beautiful spot on the lake. The view out of the kitchen during my morning coffee was awesome. Definitely going to come back in the summer.

    Louis2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Pickeral Palace was amazing to say the least. Gordon was very communicative and helpful long before we even arrived with directions and tips for the weather and vehicle rental option we might need. The photos don't really do this cabin justice. The space was a perfect mix of cabin and chic and had everything we needed besides food and drinks which we got from the local Fife Lake Village grocery store a little over a mile away! Inside was very tidy and there were plenty of family fun games, puzzles and even a few DVDs and CDs for winding down in the evenings. NO WIFI which was a HUGE plus for our unplugged family vacay. There is a large gas furnace in the kitchen area and floorboard heat and thermostats throughout the rest of the cabin. The kitchen had all of the cooking supplies you would need including pots, pans, cups, plates, cutlery and even a coffee maker, toaster, tupperware and microwave. Outside there is a cozy screened in porch area (and large deck as well) with a stand up propane heater for staying a little warmer while watching the kids play in the snow and a charcoal grill with supplies for use if need be (our steaks were yummy). Overall 10/10 rating, we will be back to enjoy some summer fun!

    Christine2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We went to the cabin to celebrate the new year and our spend time winding down from the holidays. The cabin was lovely, clean, and well appointed. We spent the weekend cooking and Gordon was kind enough to bring us a bundt pan. We loved the location and look forward to going back.

    Celeste2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place to stay right on the water!

    Ryan2019-11-24T00:00:00Z

  • Our group had a great time at Ryan’s cabin. The living room with high ceilings and fireplace helped facilitate great discussion and friendship. There was enough space for everyone and the location was only 20 to Crystal Mtn. Loved it!

    Erik2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • The home was perfect for our group! We loved it. It was sparkling clean and well decorated. The kitchen was well-stocked (lots of bowls/pans/dishes/mixers, etc!) and the beds were super comfy. Ryan was great to work with and was the perfect host. We asked a lot of questions about the local area, and the house, and he was more than willing to answer them. It was nice being only 30 minutes from Traverse City and it was great to have a local market for last-minute items. We all loved it and would go back for sure!

    Kristine2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • The house is exactly what you see in the photos. The house was well stocked and provided everything you need and more. The fire pit was a great amenity. Ryan responds very quickly to any questions. Couldn’t ask for more with plenty of room and nature to take in right in the property.

You won't be disappointed if you stay at his place!!!

  • Ryan’s place was amazing. Very clean and lots of amenities and fully equipped kitchen. We were 16 people and still had lot of space in house, so it’s very spacious. The house is beautiful and very clean, comfortable beds. Ryan was great host and very quick in response. Thanks Ryan , would love to stay again at your place.

  • The house was comfortable and homey and suited our needs well for a family skiing trip. It is in a quiet rural area around 20 minutes to Crystal mountain. It's well priced compared to similar options in the area. We appreciated that the kitchen was stocked with some basics for cooking, sugar, salt and a little extra, and the welcome chocolates were a friendly touch. We'd stay here again if visiting the area. Thanks Paula!

  • The Black Bear Inn is a delight! It is charming, small, log and knotty pine lodge set among the trees of the Manistee National Forest. It is cute, clean, and peaceful (road noise was not at all an issue for us, as it was winter during our stay, so no open windows). We loved the Bear Den unit we stayed in, which was tastefully decorated, super clean, and had a comfy sofa and overstuffed recliner, good beds, and an ample kitchenette and living/dining space. It is just a 20-minute drive to Caberfae Peaks and about 30 minutes to Crystal Mountain, so it's an excellent option for skiers, especially those who would like to get a good night's rest after a vigorous day on the slopes, away from the the constant clomp of ski boots and and raucous activity of kids. There's no hot tub to soak in after a day of skiing, but there is plenty of hot water in the shower and a quiet, comfy bed to fall into afterward!

    Nancy2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our room was so warm and cozy - decorated for Christmas even - I almost wanted to cancel our plans and just stay in the “cabin”!

    Gail2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying at The Black Bear Inn! We loved how everything was super clean. The living room/kitchen was decorated beautifully in a holiday theme. It was really a surprise for my daughter that there was a mini Christmas tree! She actually sat on the rug in front of it to write out her Christmas list to Santa. Everything is laid out really well. We were really glad that it felt really homey. We only had one snag where the electronic keypad was not working when we arrived. Alicia was over right away to fix it, just needed new batteries, and we didn't have any further issues during our stay. We will definitely be back in the future. If not to stay in this unit one of Alicia's others for sure!

  • Ellen and Larry are the most wonderful hosts and people. As many said, the photos don’t do this place justice! It’s little bit rural but my wife and I loved that. Every night was complete silence and don’t think I’ve slept better in months. I would stay here all the time if I could.

    Iain2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this place! Super cute and clean. Our dog made great friends with Ellen’s pup, Molly ☺️ the yard is huge and there’s a private(ish) fire pit area outside the Airbnb. I would definitely stay here again!

  • Wonderful and beautiful property to stay at. We only had one day, but would love to spend a week here. Super spacious space, super clean, a little out of the way, but still very close to numerous places to visit. Great communication with Ellen about directions to her place because it was our first time there and Ellen was right there when we arrived to show us around. Thanks!

    Kevin2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Ellen was very helpful and personable. The accommodations are very comfortable and clean. Loved the pool table!

    Steve2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was a perfect space for us to spend the weekend. The pictures don't do it justice. There is so much space with all amenities and we loved playing darts and shooting pool in the evening. My son and I were only in town for the weekend for his soccer tournament so we didn't get enough time to explore Traverse City but Ellen was very knowledgeable about the area and was willing to offer advice. I much prefer the quiet backwoods feel of this location to the hustle and bustle of a tourist hotel. With a deck to relax on or the bonfire pit to sit and share stories and great weather this location has it all. You can't ask for a better host and there was nothing we needed that wasn't available. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the Traverse area and the value can't be beat! 5 stars!

    Sean2019-09-22T00:00:00Z

  • My wife and I had a wonderful stay here while up north for a wedding. We were 4 min away from the venue, which made for a easy trip to and from the venue. Traverse City is also only about 20-25 minutes away. The home was very clean and the hosts were very nice. We were welcomed with fresh baked cookies. You can tell that Jim and Brenda care very much and go the extra mile to make sure your stay is great!

Everything from the scenery to the deck lights to the perfect amenities to the homey decorations to the sweetest dogs, this place was absolutely perfect for the four of us. Tim was so kind and great to talk to. We had a fantastic campfire, grilled hotdogs, and enjoyed the sunset. Only 20 minutes from Traverse City.
