  • Spent a lovely 4 nights at Holly Berry, the space has been very well thought out and though I was initially worried when booking about how small it was these worries were unfounded and we never felt as though we didn't have enough room. Lovely touches such as chocolate and milk in the fridge on arrival and there was also coffee/tea/sugar :) Jenny & Martin were on the way to their own holidays when we arrived but made sure we knew where everything was and gave us some tips re the surrounding area. All in all a lovely place to stay :)

  • Lovely self-contained "house" which will be very cosy in the winter with the fire. Great location.

  • Perfect location (especially if you're into cycling as Sherwood pines is a 20 minute car journey) lovely owners who were extremely welcoming and recommended so many places to visit! If you are visiting the area for business or pleasure I highly recommend this perfect holiday get away!

  • Amazing use of space and perfectly presented. Jenny and her husband were on hand for any problems or questions. Could not recommend enough.

    Rachel2017-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • The space was comfy, super clean and had all that I required for my stay. The accommodation was warm and cosy during my stay in October. I didn't use the wood burner, but it was all ready to light which was nice. I didn't meet Jenny, but e-mails and enquiries were answered quickly. All in all a no fuss and very enjoyable stay, thank you Jenny!

  • Had a really lovely time in the Woodcutters lodge. The cottage is really cosy, bed nice and comfy, and hot tub set up for arrival. There are such thoughtful touches like champagne and chocs. The location is private and has everything you need for two people. Would love to stay again.

  • It would a slight trouble to get here but once we arrived we were blown away by all of it. There was no hassle with keys, reception or neighbours which made us feel more trustworthy and respected. Everything was super clean, and we loved the theme inside, finding more surprises as we looked around. Initially due to the weather, we thought we would be cold but there was heating available in every room, and blankets galore. Such a fantastic little cabin to escape for a few days. Highly recommended :-)

  • The woodcutters cabin is a beautiful little home in a perfect location! It surpassed our expectations and I urge anyone viewing this to book it because you will not be disappointed. The whole cabin was beautifully decorated and made to feel very homely. The location is isolated and has some amazing views. The hot tub was perfect and makes the stay even better. The hosts provided us with a lovely set up of Prosecco and a birthday cake which made the entrance to the cabin even more personalised and special. The woodcutters cabin is amazing and I will most definitely be returning to it!

  • We had such a lovely stay at the Lodge. Everything was very clean and well presented. When we arrived, the heating was on which made the lodge feel super welcoming and cosy- the bottle of prosecco and chocolates was such a thoughtful special touch! Would highly recommend and definitely return!

  • We stayed here for 2 nights on a sunny September weekend. It was really well presented, very clean and had everything we needed for a lovely weekend. The property is private and the location is great for exploring Derbyshire by foot. The hot tub was great after our 12 mile Saturday walk, and on arrival to the property a chilled bottle of Fizz was waiting - thank you !!!!

    Stephen2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • I took my boyfriend here for his 21st birthday and omg it was amazing! Nicola had left us a birthday cake, cava, balloons and a 21st banner which was a lovely touch! It was so cute and cosy and very secluded which is so great, the hot tub was really nice! We had everything we need, I couldn’t have ask for anything better! Thankyou so much Nicola! Xx

    Corrie2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at the Lodge! Arrived late on Friday evening and had a smile put on my face by the thoughtful banner and card that was left! After a quick unpack we were in the hot tube for the evening, lovely and private area that isn’t overlooked but anything else in the area. Kitchen facilities are great for cooking and preparation of meals. Would recommend and stay again!

This cabin has been built mainly from reclaimed/upcycled materials. It overlooks the River Wreake, where there is a canoe that you are welcome to use during your stay. ASK about our bespoke practical and theoretical courses for all ages. We run canoe building holidays here, and between us can offer a wide range of environmental, wood related and literary courses to suit your interests.
Ideal for a family looking for a totally unique break. 90% of the cabin is recycled/upcycled/reclaimed materials. There is a sitting area with wood burning stove and kitchen area downstairs, ( we have just added a home made double bed downstairs, which has bedding provided), and a sleeping loft upstairs, supplied with a variety of mattresses and pillows which you can move around to suit your family. Bedding is NOT normally provided ( except for the downstairs double bed) so bring your own sleeping bags. There is electricity to the cabin, but the toilet is "off grid". ( composting toilet plus camper-van style cassette toilet). For less hardy souls, there is a warm toilet and shower room available 2 minutes walk from the cabin. Basic cooking facilities: fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, bread maker and Halogen oven. Baby High Chair available. Child safety gate on the stairs ( which are rather steep). Use of the birchcanoes canoe on the river here Fishing from the landing stage Laundry room ( £1 per load for washing, same for drying) Camp fire spot near the cabin Learn to milk a goat ( free, in season) You might want to learn to make a paddle using traditional methods and tools ( extra charge applies) You might even want to build a birchcanoes canoe with us ( in which case, your accommodation fees will be refunded, as that is included in the cost of canoe building) There is a pool table, darts board and workshop space on site We live on site, but can leave you entirely to your own devices, you can come and go as you please. If you need anything, do come and ask us. Pretty river valley dotted with lovely old villages. Lovely thatched pub serving great meals just 1 mile down the lane in the village of Hoby. We are situated right in the countryside, with no neighbours, nice and secluded. We have a field where you can play Badminton etc, and goats who will appreciate any crusts, there are kingfishers and otters in the garden. The 5a bus runs between Melton Mowbray and Leicester every 20 minutes throughout the day and early evening. The bus stop is 500 metres away. We run birchcanoes canoe building holidays here, you are welcome to see the process and try our canoes on the river here. The cabin has a large sleeping platform with mattresses (bring your own sleeping bags) and a single bed downstairs, for which bedding is provided. So plenty of space to sleep.
There is a nice thatched pub which serves meals until 9pm, a mile down the road ( The Blue Bell, at Hoby). The valley here is very pretty, with little villages, grassy fields and hedges and occasional woodlands. One of the National Cycle Ways runs right by our gate. In Thrussington, ( about 1.5 miles away) there is a lovely delicatessen/cafe which you will enjoy.
  • John was lovely, he came out to meet us when he arrived and gave us a tour of the immediate area. The place was accurately described, and very cost. He supplied plenty of wood for the fire, which helped as the weather got very cold outside. The area is full of lovely country side with a great pub less than a mile walk away. Would happily stay again.

    Marcus2016-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is in a fantastic location and is just what we wanted. Secluded and cosy. John is a fantastic host. He is welcoming and friendly and sorted out a minor problem immediately and with no issues. The cabin was surprisingly warm (the the stove on) and kept a lot of heat through the night. This could also be to do with the extremely cosy and warm duvet. The cabin has plenty of room as a base. But full with 6 people I would say to go in summer where you can take advantage of the outside space. There are some lovely walls nearby and we would recommend the village shop in Thrussington for coffee and cake and cheese!!

    Carly2017-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • John is a great host. He was very welcoming when we arrived and has made our stayed very pleasant. He showed us around and made us feel home. He was really helpful and friendly. It has been a great escape from the city for us and we have enjoyed the Log Cabin very much. We will definitely be back there soon! Thanks John. It was pleasure meeting you and staying at your cabin.

  • I have used airbnb many times. So far John has been our best host so far! We also loved the area, with wonderful walks from village to village across fields. I would definitely recommend it!

  • If you want to experience something a little different, this is the place for you. It's a wonderful location, the river and the greenery make it so. It is a small hut, so don't expect oodles of space, but that adds to the experience. Laying in bed with the rain and the wind, children all quietly chatting away in their sleeping bags up in the eaves, it was good for the soul. The compostable toilet was possibly a highlight for all, funny how quickly children can take to something simple. We loved the fire and the fact that they could sleep however they wished upstairs. The electric blankets were a super touch, and overall we stayed warm and comfortable!

    Chloe2018-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time in the river cabin! John was so lovely and easy going and the cabin was more than comfortable. thanks and we will be back kez

  • This is a lovely, unique place with lots of love put in to it. The beds were comfy and clean. There were some great books and games to use. We were made to feel welcome and look forward to coming back in the spring. Our daughter loved it!

    Elestren2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was everything we hoped for and more. I took my three granddaughters and they loved the unexpected tree house and the freedom that the cabin offered. We had great fun in the canoes and we can’t wait to stay again! John is the perfect host and he couldn’t do enough to make us welcome and our stay memorable.

  • Such an amazing place, the cabin was far better then what the pictures show! It's cozy and warm, great facilities even a slow cooker if you decided to bring a roast :) the people are friendly always saying hello and up for a chat about anything while exploring the great views and walks. Can't wait to book again (if I could I'd love to live in the cabin) :) just a shame the weekend went so quick :(

  • We arrived fine via train, bus, and walk through the college campus. The owner was not there but his older son was a fine host while the younger only stayed up to about 10:30 drinking with friends. The cabin is rustic and the grounds were unkept. Random caravans gave it a Breaking Bad meth lab feel. It would not meet your expectations if you were expecting a basic state park cabin in the U.S. This cabin is $20 per night cabin in the U.S. Canoes were available to use on the "river" which is no wider than a narrow canal. The owners house is a former train station, but the train line is still very active throughout the night. Larger trains shake the entire cabin. Nice footpaths to Thrussington and Hoby villages. Star pub in Thrussington is very nice.

    Jay2014-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • A gorgeous location with a super-friendly host and different interesting cabins as well as canoes to play with. Thanks again John for another lovely stay.

    Arwen2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and that for this weekend we would be home from home. The site lived up beyond our expectation and we came straight home to check availability for our next visit! We have also heartily recommended both the site and air B and B solely on our one use! I think this will be a big part of all our holidays to come, and for local stays we won't go further than our wood cabin. Thanks so much John for sharing your cabin and the use of your canoes!

    Kath2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is awesome, the area is fantastic and John is a great host. Each year six friends from uni get together to have some beers and catch up on our lives. The cabin was perfect for us. The cabin could sleep 7 easily and it has everything you need. Comfy beds and a nice solar shower. We're good makes and didn't find it cramped at all. The pub is 10 mins away and as we are sporty types, had great fun with the darts, skittles and bowls. Food and beer is wonderful too. There are really nice walks, that have pubs along the way. We'll be going back for sure.

    Sam2015-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had the most fantastic weekend at John's little cabin! Very relaxing and you really feel a sense of escapism from the world! John is the most wonderful host, even collecting us and dropping us at the train station! He goes above and beyond for his guests and it was a privilege to be hosted by him! We would highly recommend and would love to return with more guests to share this little treasure!

Communication was quick and easy, check in went without a hitch. The hot tub was private and great fun for all the family. A fabulous little retreat for a few relaxing days away. Thank you Hannah, we will definately come again if staying in the area. Kiz

  • Myself and 3 school friends stayed in Willow Lodge for a weekend for a long overdue catch up and it was perfect! Hannah was brilliant in the run-up, answering any questions really quickly and giving us lots of great suggestions for pub lunches and local walks. The lodge itself was clean, bright and cosy, and just as the pictures show. The hot tub was definitely a highlight and we felt like we the countryside all to ourselves sitting out enjoying the lovely bottle of prosecco Hannah had very kindly left for us!! Would definitely recommend this to a group of friends like us wanting a lovely getaway in the countryside for a weekend!

    Kate2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect lodge for a relaxed getaway. Hannah was an excellent host. The lodge was beautiful and the thoughful finishing touches made our stay even more special. We can't wait to book again!

    Nina2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful for a chilled time. Its very peaceful and tranquil, I even saw a little family of ducks waddling around. Its all gated so if you were to bring a pet its totally safe. The hot tub is lovely and secluded. Its fairly small inside but cosy. The stairs to the eve are exceptionally steep and I would not recommend if you have small children. Hannah, is the best host, is at the end of the phone for anything you need at any time but does not interfere and is very flexible with requirements. Taxis can be expensive, if you are venturing out so speak to Hannah if you have this problem. We had a night out in Lecister at a bar called The Terrace and we had a really fun evening. Market Harborough is lovely for lunch and a bit of shopping. There were 4 of us in our 30's.

    Niki2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • An incredible weekend for my husbands birthday at West View Farm Lodge, Willow. Our original plans south had been ruined by the snow 'beast from the (Website hidden by Airbnb) we looked for something more local, and we tried our look on a last minute whim! Boy were we impressed! Hannah responded within minutes to secure our booking and provided all the information we needed to arrive safely. We, along with our pooch Wesley, arrived with delight, our cosy lodge for the weekend, surrounded by snow...a dream! The lodge itself is equipped with everything you would need for a secluded stay (and more; treats for Wesley...a bottle of prosecco for myself and a bottle of local crafted beer for my husband)! Extremely cosy, clean and finished to a high standard! The hot tub was an added bonus!! We, including Wesley had the best time relaxing in our lodge; a secure fenced, generous garden surrounds the lodge meaning we could let our pooch run and play in the snow worry free! A lovely walk through the fields brings you to a local village and pub, where we enjoyed a few ales! We returned to the lodge to be greeted by the owners, who informed us of their newly born lamb's we were invited to meet! All in all, a 5 star stay...we will be sure to return to! Thank you Hannah X

Based in rural Derbyshire our cabins are hand-crafted to a high standard. Overlooking glorious english countryside. You may have to share the grounds with our resident heavy horses, the rabbits and the badgers to name a few. But if you're OK with that, you have use of your own hot tub to watch them all go about their day. Once you've had your fill of nature from the decking, come inside to a fully kitted kitchen, TV and en-suite bathroom. Not to mention the king size bed.
  • A calm, peaceful, beautiful setting in the countryside. Surrounded by horses, sheep and cattle. Saw lots of wildlife on the local walks. Hut and hot tub were absolutely amazing. Really clean and comfortable. Will definitely be returning. Thank you.

  • Had a lovely weekend staying in Norton and Corinne’s lodge. Everything was brand new and sparkling clean and we had everything we needed plus nice little additional extras such as a bottle of cider, chocolate, bread and milk. We made full use of the hot tub which is an excellent addition and had a really nice explore of the local woodland trails. Perfect location for us as we had a car and was able to explore the National Park easily. Not sure how it would work with public transport. There is a local pub which was recommended but we didn’t get the chance to visit. Corinne was very quick to reply to messages and was a great host all round. Loved waking up to the sound of horses in the fields nearby. We didn’t want to leave! Would 100% recommend this property to friends.

  • We had a fantastic time here. Fantastic host, a warm welcome (lovely touch having chocolates, wine bread, milk etc at arrival) Plenty of lovely views. Great to unwind in the hotub whenever you like. All around an easy, relaxing stay. Highly recommended! If you get the chance go to heights of abraham, 15 minute drive which is an interesting place to visit.

  • What a super space, we loved staying here! There is so much room, everything was there that we needed, and Yvonne, who was representing Samantha, was very welcoming. Thank you both very much. A very dog friendly property with great local walks. We will be back!

  • Great communication and had a lovely stay for 6 days whilst I was on a local course. Nice and comfortable and deceptively spacious, lovely rural location. would recommend.

  • Lovely and peaceful location. A great getaway from it all place!

    Joy2018-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend staying here! Everything was fantastic, really lovely place with everything you could need to feel at home. Location was perfect for me and such peaceful surroundings. I would definitely stay here again

    Jade2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The location was lovely, a beautiful view across the fields with the cute alpacas peering over the fence as a welcoming committee! Samantha's place was nicely decorated and very clean, plus we loved the quirky alpaca touches around the place. The kitchen was modern and had everything we needed. The nearby pub (The Holly Bush) did extremely good food as well. We had a great night's sleep as the area was so peaceful. A much better experience than listening to everybody slamming their doors late at night in a chain hotel. Highly recommended!

  • Great, quiet place. Communication and check in was very easy. Easily the best option in the area. I will be visiting again.

    Tyler2017-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely relaxing weekend away. The roundhouse was tastefully decorated and lovely and warm even in December. The welcoming homemade cookies and bread went down a treat after a long Friday night drive. Great views from the accomodation.

  • a fab, quiet and relaxing surrounding. we had an excellent time

    Ed2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It was nothing short of perfect! The Roundhouse was spotless, and we were welcomed with homemade bread and cookies (which were delicious!) Every detail had been thought through and we had such an enjoyable stay. Pam was a friendly and helpful host.

    Clare2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Roundhouse was lovely, just as described in the text. It was very elegant, everything of a high standard. Situated amongst lovely surrounding and close to Ashbourne for any facilities needed. We had a lovely time.

    Dil2017-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at the Roundhouse, and were made to feel very welcome on arrival. The colourful eggs and fresh bread were especially thoughtful. We will be back!

  • Couldn’t have been any happier with our stay at Nether Farm. The place exceeded all the photos on the listing. The house was beautifully furnished and spotlessly tidy, with due credit to the amazing use of space. It had everything we needed (fridge, hob, basic toiletries etc) and more. Pam even pointed us to a jar of home made cookies, fresh bread and eggs all provided by the farm upon our arrival. Pam was wonderful. Made us feel very looked after, but left alone too. She gave us very prompt responses and was very patient with us when we ran behind schedule for check in. It proved to be no issue at all and we was very grateful for this. Perfect host and a perfect place. We had a very comfortable and pleasant stay, we recommend to anyone who just wants to get out of the city like we did, and take in some seriously beautiful views. We would definitely stay again. (6 stars if we could)

    Connor2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a brilliant find - this was an absolutely amazing place to stay, it felt so special and luxurious despite apparently being 'glamping'. Everything felt as though they'd really thought about creating a lovely space, what would work and what guests would like. Perfectly located, being minutes away from the gorgeous town of Ashbourne but out the town enough to feel as though you were in the middle of nowhere. Bonus to arrive to bread, cookies and chocolate, plus milk and butter ready for us in the fridge. Very friendly and helpful hosts, without being over-friendly! The only annoyance was that on our last morning the water stopped working, however I am sure that this is highly unusual and the hosts immediately offered us compensation for this inconvenience. We will definitely be recommending this gem to our family and friends.

  • Amazing place, great for a weekend away. Nice hosts, very helpful. Just beware that there is no telephone signal and WiFi is hard to get in the pods. Would 100% stay again!

  • Had a fab time in the Skylark Pod and would highly recommend it. Everything was so lovely and had all you could need. What a great place to spend a weekend away, we’ll definitely be back.

  • Unique and cosy little pod with stunning views and surroundings. The farm the pod is situated on is lovely and well kept. Hoe grange is a great base to come back too after a days trekking or exploring surrounding areas. Loved being able to use the fire pit and have bbq’s. Would definitely recommend!

    Jess2018-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend staying in the Skylark pod. The views are amazing and the pod is the perfect cosy size with all the the facilities you could need. We enjoyed a little visit to Ashbourne, exploring the area and walking in the sun, rain and even snow! Thank you David for having us and being a great host.

    Louisa2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a gorgeous place to get away and relax. Thank you for a lovely stay. I'd highly recommend it!

    Pip2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay in the skylark pod over a snowy Christmas break! Thoroughly enjoyed the fresh bread, mince pies and mulled wine on arrival! Would definitely love to return in the summer!

    Chloe2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The stay has been just wonderful, very relaxing and peaceful. The Pod is very clean, tidy and it is a good size for two people. There is everything you need. I suggest to bring your own food if you stay more than a couple of days. There is a fridge, microwave, hob and pans. The mobile signal and wifi are quite poor but who cares, once you are there you don't want to check your smartphone, you just want to enjoy what usually don't have: a chance to naturally regenerate yourself. David has been very useful giving instructions and guidance around. There is a trail nearby you can take on foot or by bike. I'm sure I will be back. Thanks!

    Diego2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Spent an incredibly enjoyable two days in the Skylark Cabin, including a great evening in the hot tub. The cabins are decorated amazingly and have some surprisingly high-tech features e.g. the touch-screen mirror control. The price may not scream bargain but David made up for it with his hospitality. The little touches, such as the complementary mince pies on arrival and locally sourced milk, bread and eggs that were also provided, made the weekend for us. Only thing I would say is be aware that phone service is non-existent in the area and the wi-fi is very temperamental. Thank you David for a great weekend!

Our Wooden Lodge is in Dimmingsdale forest the surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. There is lots to do like rock climbing the Churnet valley Boulders, Eating and drinking at the 5 pubs of Alton. Walking the staffordshire way or exploring the many forest tracks on your doorstep. You may want a fun packed day at Alton Towers park or spa. Cook on the BBQ, sit on your tree swing or relax in our new Jacuzzi (new for Dec 2018) or toast marshmallows on your fire pit and listen to the owls hoot.
The lodge is luxury glamping and has 1 bedroom and 1 shower room and 1 kitchen lounge area with log burner and DVD player, Books and Games. There is a ladder to the second sleeping area. The Lodge is best suited to 2 adults or 2 adults with their 2 children because the second bed is up the ladder in the eaves and is off the lounge. It is like a large bunk bed, so adults might find it a bit cramped sleeping in the eaves bed. Outside you have a large covered veranda with table and chairs, BBQ, Lounge chairs and a garden area with a fire pit, tree swing and New for December 2018 a large 6 person Jacuzzi.
The farm is situated up a private lane on the Staffordshire way foot path. It is very peaceful and the walking is beautiful. You can save on parking charges and walk the beautiful walk to Alton Towers in 25mins. The area has fantastic mountain biking and rock climbing.
  • My boyfriend, puppy & I had such a great time exploring the beautiful surrounding areas so if you like walking definitely come here. The Ramblers Retreat serves the biggest portions of food so kept us fuelled (20 min walk) The lodge itself was very warm & cosy so great to come home to & relax. It had everything we needed for the 3 nights we were there. Hattie who greeted us was so welcoming & provided us with recommendations on where to eat & directions to different attraction - I'd definitely recommend stopping in at Alton Towers which is 5 minute drive or 40 minute walk.

  • Such a lovely little cabin, just the perfect little capsule getaway for two (or two with a kid as we had!). The peace and quiet is lovely, especially in the mornings, as is the view from the veranda across the field to the woods. So enjoyed sitting in front of the woodburner in the evenings reading and listening to music. I'd highly recommend it for anyone who wants a break from life!

  • What a lovely place to stay! The perfect hidden retreat for a country escape! Sally was a wonderful host and couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. She made sure we had everything we needed and even took us out to the chicken coop so that we could collect some eggs! I only wish we'd stayed longer! Thank you Sally! Amy and Olivia

  • Nice quiet location with a cozy atmosphere. Close to some lovely walking trails. Really enjoyed having a nightcap by the wood stove.

  • We had a lovely weekend at Sally and Andy's retreat, such a cute log cabin with everything you need for a quiet weekend away! Will definitely be returning!

    Camilla2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • For a secluded spot to stay away from the bustle and hustle this has got to be up there. It may not be for some people and may be a bit tough with children in the winter but being able to end the evening looking out the window at the horses grazing whilst led in bed was one of the highlights of our stay. It is a very pleasant location and somewhere we would stay again.

    Dominic2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic little gem! This cabin is so cosy and comfy we didn't want to leave. Me and my girlfriend stayed here as we were going for a weekend away and this property managed to work for both our planned trip to Alton Towers and to be within good distance of the Peak District. We spent our first evening walking around Dimmingsdale and it's famously beautiful walk from the Ramblers Retreat and then we went back to the cabin where we had wine and cheese whilst sitting by the fire. The second day was spent at Alton Towers and if you are planning a day there yourself I cannot recommend this property enough for its close proximity to the park. And for our final day we were close enough to the Peak District for us to have a full day out including Chatsworth House, lunch at Bakewell and finally visiting Poole's cavern in Buxton. Thoroughly amazing weekend and I can't recommend this place enough!

  • Family with two children enjoyed the stay. Very modern and comfortable lodge. Own space parking. We are very satisfied. Our boys love to stay in lodge longer. Has everything we need inside. Bed, bath, shower, wifi and kitchen all good. Plus points for a bottle wine, tea bags and washing detergents. Good location for us to travel to nearby towns and city. Nice marina view from lodge. There is not much to do within the marina. But nice for walks and jogging or boating out.

  • Great location on a working farm, surrounded by rolling hills and close to High Peak and Tissington Trails, Carsington Water, Ashbourne, Matlock any many other attractions. Very well equipped cabin (we stayed in Pinder), compact but very well thought out, had everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay. Four people in our party and there was plenty of room for our needs. Appreciated the milk, eggs, bread etc that greeted us on our arrival, plus lots of little extras in every room that make all the difference to your stay. Lovely having our own hot tub which we used every day. Phone reception not that good but the wi fi worked well all the time we were there. One thing to note is that there are four cabins and a number of pods all situated in one area of the farm. But we hardly saw or heard anyone else so it almost felt like we were on our own on the site.

  • Short holiday in Pinder Cabin with friends & family. The cabin is situated on owner's own farm - approx 20min from Matlock or nearby towns. The cabin is in immaculate condition with literally anything you need for a super comfort stay. From well equipped kitchen, large comfy double beds to soft toy left on the bed for the kids, owner's attention to detail is reflected everywhere. And not to mention the Hot tub on site is simply the icing on the cake! Would highly recommend. A+

Sycamore cottage is situated in the heart of the Peak District National Park and is a perfect base for walking, sight seeing and visiting two historic houses Chatsworth House and Haddon hall. Parts of the cottage date back to the 1600 but with all modern conveniences.
  • A great room that’s large but feels cosy. There’s space downstairs to relax with a dining / living room shared with the one other B&B room. Excellent breakfast. Pubs on the doorstep, which is handy.

  • Our stay was absolutely amazing! The pod was lovely, spacious and clean and the outdoor area was fantastic. Can not recommend staying here enough!

  • There was amazing attention to detail that made the stay extra special! Beautiful surroundings made the location a perfect countryside break

  • We had a superb stay at the swallow pod. David’s communication was great, he responded immediately to my messages and was there to help when needed. The check in was quick and easy and we didn’t see him again unless we asked for his assistance. The location was secluded which was very relaxing, with beautiful surroundings. We really enjoyed a walk along the high peak trail with our dog which we could access easily from our pod. We did have to be careful with our dog and the loose chickens and the electric fence, but there was a secure metal hoop outside to tie him up if needs be. The pod had everything we needed, was very snug and clean with a lot of thought gone into it. With the cost to stay it would have been nice to have access to the hot tub without the additional £50 charge per night. Thank you so much David, we would totally recommend staying in one of your pods. Melissa, Simon and Frank.

  • Fantastic glamping pods. Ideal for an adults weekend away. Very private and quiet (apart from the cockerel!). Great specification in the pods, just bring a hair dryer everything else is there including some lovely touches like fresh bread and eggs. Thank you David it was wonderful and we will be back.

  • Great stay and lovely hosts. We highly recommended!

    Pagon2018-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say that hasnt been said already, the Pods are very easy to find, incredibly well equipped and very snug and cosy. Set in the rolling Derbyshire countryside on a farm, they have been well appointed with all the items that you need to make your stay feel like a home away from home A beautiful gravel pathway leads to the too an open terrace area with outside seating and a wood fire pit, looking out onto the green and open countryside, with horses in the fields and chickens roaming free. Whilst wifi was included we chose to switch off our phones and get back to nature, relaxing in the peace and tranquility of the site. David was an amazing host and accommodated our needs including our late arrival due to travel delays and when we arrived we had fresh bread, eggs and milk so hot tea and coffee helped us settle into our first night.

    Stuart2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place set in beautiful location

    craig2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Swallow pod completely exceeded our expectations - there is literally everything you'll need for a comfortable stay, right down to the heated bathroom mirror and handmade bath toiletries. There's a hot tub which we didn't use due to having a small baby with us but it sounded fabulous. This was our first trip away with our baby and this lovely comfortable pod made it so easy. There are horses in the field opposite wandering past and chickens come visiting - a little different from our usual suburban scenery! Would recommend to anyone with infants and/or dogs - our Airedale terrier had a great time too.

We loved the little extras of the fresh bread and eggs, the only thing we missed was the oven but when you've got a barbecue that's all you really need! Thanks again so much was a very blissful first wedding anniversary
