Places to stay in Tejakula
Fall asleep to the gentle sound of the waves. Take a shower in the open air and feel like you're in paradise. Quiet, sunny location. The garden is full of flowers, butterflies and coconut palms, bordering the sea. Yoga & Meditation - ideal for diving (equipment available) & snorkeling in intact coral reef directly in front. Close to a Hindu Balinese fishing village. Own restaurant with Balinese dishes, also for vegetarians & vegans. Delicious and inexpensive! Free wifi everywhere!
Look forward to a 10sqm room with a comfortable bed, including breakfast, air conditioning, desk, chair and closet and private open air bath with hot shower, towel, soap, shampoo. Your room guarantees privacy and comfort.
Les is located in the middle of the north coast of Bali and it is a good base from which to explore many of Bali's most famous dive sites. There is the wreckage of Tulamben 45 minutes east. The coral reefs of Amed are an hour away. Candidasa is an hour and a half drive. Padang Bai is 2 hours drive away. Driving west from Les brings you within an hour to Lovina, within 2 hours to Pemuteran with the Biorock Coral Project, and within 3 hours to West Bali National Park and its famous Menjangan Island diving and snorkeling spots. There are mini markets nearby - 7-11 as well as small shops - which are open all day. Shopping centers are located in Singaraja City, 45 minutes by car or motorcycle.
  • Nice quiet little community of homestays. Nice small room with a beautiful outside shower with hot water. Restaurant is mostly vegan, very good cooks and cheap. Great place to escape from all the turrisum madness.

  • I throughly enjoyed my stay at Segara Lestari (Here's place). We planned to only stay one night as we were traveling late and needed a quick stop over..... we stayed for 4 days! It's a gorgeous hidden gem in a lesser known part of Bali! It has a private beach on your doorstep, beautiful gardens with beds and hammocks dotted among the trees and flowers for the ultimate relaxation spot metres from the ocean. The rooms are perfect they have everything you need and more, the outdoor shower is magical and with hot water a real rarity here! THE RESTAURANT- Has some of the best food I've eaten in Indonesia, we tried nearly every menu item and we we were never disappointed, worth stopping here for the food alone! Great quality at fair prices! Lastly the people working here are all so nice and welcoming; they are all eager to help and chat out of friendliness and curiosity, not asking for anything but friendship and curiosity in return!! Really my favourite stay out of 6 weeks in Indonesia, I couldn't fault anything and I was continually being impressed! Thank you for the perfect stay, Gede!!

    Diarmuid And Becca2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Gede’s place was very relaxed! It was my first stop on Bali and my plan was to read some books, do a little snorkling, have great food, a massage and maybe do some yoga. Well that succeeded. If you’re looking for a place to just enjoy some time off and waking up next to the sea, this is a really nice place.

    Iris2018-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Segara Lestari is heaven on earth. It is the perfect place for you if you are looking for a beautiful, serene and peaceful location to relax, if you love the ocean (it's on the water and the snorkeling is comparable to Amed), if you want to eat healthy organic food, and if you enjoy energy healing, meditation and yoga. Not to mention the sunrises and sunsets are magical and both can be seen daily. Do yourself a favor and spend a week or two here. And when you do make sure to hike up to Les Waterfall to be reborn in its waters.

  • Thank you for providing a nice backup place here.I'm the first time a visit there, where the good scenery continues near the beach. if we want to go to the beach only 10 seconds from the villa. there are nearby restaurants for guests and so on. later if there is time I will visit again there. thanks.

    Kawakami2018-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • A little corner of paradise. The rooms are clean and comfortable with sea views. The jarfin is beautiful. The staff is adorable at pampering for its guests. The food is excellent with a wide choice for vegetarians. It feels like family! Many activities nearby like snokerling (a protected coral reef in this area), jungle waterfall, Balinese massages, yoga, cooking classes, we can go see the dolphins by boat at sunrise with all over Bali. .. magnificent ! In short everything is perfect, I had a great stay at this hotel at the end of the world <3

    Esther2018-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful time I had here. Gede and his wife Made gave me all the opportunities for a good start into my 4 weeks vacation on Bali. There is a wonderful Waterfall close by (one hour walk), the ocean only a 30 seconds walk from my room. What else can I wish for? Yes, Made’s good cooking. For dinner I did not go anywhere else! I am spoiled I think and here the food was really special to me :-) Thank you so much!

Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers looking for peace and serenity within a close-knit community. Immerse yourself in the local Balinese culture or wind down listening to the waves breaking on shore.
You will have a seafront single detached villa unit. The sea is less than twenty steps away. It has two single beds that can be joined for a king-sized bed. Your veranda overlooks your own private garden with a hammock and sunbed for your own use. Behind your villa units are the family houses of our extended family. Many of us work as fishermen. Come and have a taste of a fisherman's life! Plus you could scuba dive and snorkel and free dive right in your seafront. You could trek around the village, its orchards, its temples and its famed Yeh Mempeh Waterfalls. Learn about Balinese dance and gamelan and weaving of traditional basket offerings. And more!
  • Fantastic hosts, a great stay!!!

    Dan2020-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • I was sad to have to cut my stay short and want to go back someday... You will find this place by finding Segara Lestari on the map and then walk a short ways to his place. When facing the water turn left and then you will find the “fisherman Homestay”’sign.

    Nolita2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • I've been in Bali 2 months and thus was a highlight. Gombal and Made are lovely hosts. I went with Gombal on the sunrise boat trip and we saw so many dolphins it was amazing! Made is a phenomenal cook, I ate there the whole time. Highly recommend will be back! Xx

    Jane2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great secluded location on the shore. Warung and massage available nearby.

    Kirill2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place facing the sea. Lovely area to relax and create, it feels like its just you and the waves. And the occasional fisherman and his family passing by. Made cooks lovely food, and there is also a great restaurant next door. Its the ideal writers cave, or a romantic getaway. Les waterfalls nearby are stunning.

    Ida2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fisherman homestay was definitely the highlight of our trip. This place is far from the business of other spots in Bali. The villa is right on the water and the facilities are very good. Made and gombal were such gracious hosts. I can’t wait to come back here soon!

    Claudia2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • If your are looking for comfort, tranquility and a place to rest Gombal's and Made little bungalow is just what you need. The ocean is in front of your door, just a few rocks away. Sunrise and sunset are part of the deal. You can either just stay there to meditate, read, swim, eat (Made's cooking) or take a walk along the beach to the next door warung, salt fields and village (Les). Some activities are also offered as mentionned in other reviews. If you are around this area please check availability, it really is worth it!

    Veronique2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • A little bit off the main road, you will enjoy a stunning ocean view with both sunrise and sunset viewable from the shoreline. Enjoy snorkeling with a variety of fish and marine life or relax with in the shade on the lounge chairs with a local vibe.

Live in the quiet un-touristed fishing village of Les in Tejakula, North Bali. Enjoy privacy in the comfort of your own villa set in a Balinese garden. Swim, snorkel, dive, fish in the sea, only 5 minutes walk away. Bathe at Les waterfalls.
It's called Java because it has traditional terra cotta flooring, bamboo ceiling, and antique lamps from Java. It's a private space with air condition, ensuite bathroom with hot shower. It is an ideal retreat place for recuperating and getting away from it all. Or immersing and losing yourself in a Balinese fishing village when you step out of the gate. Or for writing and finding one's self in your own private space. A separate small villa house has an in-house library where you can browse and borrow books. The compound has a beautiful kitchen and dining hall where you can cook and eat meals. Its set on a small but beautifully maintained Balinese garden where you can walk back and forth to get things easy within yourself.
Les Village in which La Kubu is located is special -- it offers the sea, the hillsides spring and waterfalls, and mountain forest and caves. Its local Hindu culture is strong and the ebb and flow of life here is governed by the tides, the moon, and ever-recurring Hindu ceremonies. La Kubu is only 200 meters away from the sea where you can have a leisurely walk or jog on the elevated and tiled seafront promenade. You can swim with the local villagers and snorkel the fringing reefs a few meters away from the coast. Link up with Sea Communities eco-tourism program and you can scuba dive, plant corals and do coral reef rebuilding, teach English to village kids, go pelagic fishing at night and ornamental fishing in the morning. Walk around the village and experience its many temples, its public bath, morning wet market. It's hillsides is a veritable orchard -- rambutans, coconuts, cloves, mangoes interspersed with the fragrant and beautiful frangipanis. The village pride, Yeh Mempeh Waterfalls, set in a caldera-like forested enclosure, is 20-30 minutes walk away from La Kubu (or 10 minutes if you motorbike part of the way). Here you can have a torrential bathe and pounding water massage. The villagers are friendly. They will smile and greet you on the road. No one would follow you selling T-shirts or pester you with souvenirs and shades for sale. There are professional masseuse in the village and they can do villa service upon request.
  • La Kubu is a lovely, peaceful homestay. The garden is absolutely beautiful and well maintained, hosts are lovely and room comfortable. It’s a lovely little spot, well located to reach the waterfall at Les or stroll along the beach. I’d definitely stay again. ✨

  • 5 star staying place, recommended!!

  • Made and his family are unbelievable dear people, hospitality and cordiality is very important here! The property is beautiful and well maintained and a small oasis of peace, the bungalow is great. Balinese breakfast, fruits in the garden and a hammock, to love people around - that's luck. Les is a place for people who want to get to know Bali and its friendly inhabitants! Thanks for all the great impressions and experiences!

    Claudia2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We put 10/10 to our stay! 🔥 It’s a house with big space, clean bathroom, hot shower, kitchen and fast Internet. Beautiful garden with flowers and turtles. 5-7 minutes walk distance to the sea and restaurants. The host was incredibly kind to us and helped with all questions! Highly recommend this place to all!

    Paul2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Made's homestay. The garden is absolutely beautiful and perfect for relaxing. Made and his entire family are awesome hosts, speak good English, and Made even took us to a ceremony at his temple for Galungan, including givjng us traditional Balinese clothing for the event. The village Les is great to relax, but still offers tasty restauarants closeby to La Kubu, directly at the beach. Would definitely recommend!

  • This villa is a very special place to stay! The area is so lovely, such a great place to experience real (and rural) Bali. Tejakula and surroundings are full of warm, friendly, and mostly local people. The villa was spotless and so relaxing, and the care from Wayan and team was completely more than I expected. Also, the Bakso that Gede brought us (twice!) was unreal - everyone should try this (:

  • Anne's Home from Home felt like home to me. The lush green garden and the patio to sit out on and relax was wonderful. Anne was extremely prompt in replying to my messages and responded immediately to my very last minute booking. All was taken care of easily. Directions on finding the place were well described and I had no problem locating the house. Just around the corner just a few metres away is a wonderful little place to eat, catering for westerners with vegan, vegetarian and normal dishes. So no worries for those with such dietry needs. Gede, the caretaker is a gem and looked after everything for me. I can only say that I will be back again.

  • The house is located near the beach in a quiet area. You can find beautiful black beaches

    Julien2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house! Very clean and nicely furnitured- a relaxing place. It even has a drinking water tank which is very convenient. Also: warung seni is hands down THE BEST place to get food (not only in tejakula but compared anywhere to Bali ;-) ). It's right next to Anne's house and a cool place to hang out at any time of the day.

    Anna2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place in a safe quiet family friendly development within an easy walk to two spas and the Gaia Oasis Pantai - a yoga resort on the beach - offering breakfast, lunch and dinner for a reasonable price which can be enjoyed seated comfortably by the ocean. Anne is a lovely kindhearted hostess who is quick to respond to messages and Adi the caretaker of the villa is caring as well. This Villa is Highly Recommended with Great Pleasure.

  • What a lovely find this was! A beautifully maintained, clean, comfortable and charming accommodation. We had the whole place to ourselves as nobody was staying in the main house. With a front gate that could be locked and a really comfortable and cosy seating area outside - we were in seventh heaven! Getting here I must warn you - do not click on the maps link from inside airbnb - it will get you to the area, but completely in the wrong part (even on the wrong side of the road) Anne sent us the hotel this is close to but be warned, there are two hotels under this name. One is close to where google will send you (up the hill) and the correct one is on the beach. I have copied the google plus code for the correct location here - 6P3QV9F2+5G. I think you copy and paste this into google maps and it will take you to the correct place. There is a fair bit of animal noise - a loud bull frog at night, a very hard working rooster and a few nervous dogs, but this is to be expected in a lovely jungle spot and I would be concerned if there was no noise! Hand on heart, we absolutely loved staying here and this will go on my list of must return to holiday houses.

We really recommend this place where we could chat with our host and learn more about Balinese culture. In addition, Made provides healing classes, we would have liked more remains to learn more by his side. Nothing to add except that they are exceptional people in an exceptional place.

    Very good place for relaxing
  • This place is one of the hidden gems in Bali and a must for everyone who wants to experience something different on the island. Great location on the beach, amazing design and a surreal experience. A magic place and I can highly recommend!!

  • This place is amazing, right from the start Fulvio (host) was very helpful and quick to reply, absolute beach front location (literally 10 paces) with crystal clear water straight up to the sand with nice corals, you could not keep us out of the water! The place is so much bigger in person and the Joglos (Javanese style antique buildings) are beautiful, there was only 3 of us renting the Villa but you could comfortably fit 12 with plenty of room on the property. We have been visiting Bali for over 10 years and this is by far our new favourite AirBnB of all time, perfect lawns with an abundance of coconut trees make for amazing sunsets over the pool and ocean. We didn't try the wifi as we had our own Indonesian SIM cards for our phones and the 4G reception was good, streaming movies and uploading media was no problem. The staff live behind the property seperated by a fence, a lovely local family that are super friendly and helped us with anything we needed. Can't wait to go back!

  • This place was a real treat for the 10 days we stayed. Fulvio and Mr Carlo we’re very accommodating and they have staff that live on-premise doing grounds keeping and helping us with any issues we encountered. My only complaint is the quality of WiFi (there is none and the cellular modem-based they had was dicey. We even bought our own but regardless of carrier it’s just not really usable). If you are reliant upon having good WiFi to work this place is not for you. But other than that it was a dream accommodation and great value.

  • Rustic and beautiful location. The space is great for large families or groups of friends. The owner was very responsive when we messaged him. We hope to come back one day!

Jomaro is a traditional house from the island of Java and has rustic feel about it. We welcome those with a sense of adventure and curiosity. Life here is simple and traditional values are alive and well here.
A piece of history, Jomaro Beach House is a traditional teak house from the island of Java and this particular one dates back to 1965. The property has a bit of the pirate feel to it and there is plenty of bounty to be had! It is ideal for families as it is for couples, newly weds or a group of close friends. Jomaro is located in NE Bali and lies in a secluded spot jostled between coconut trees, jungle and the ocean right at your front door! The surrounding area is a quite peaceful fishing village and the locals are delightful, kind and helpful. This part of Bali is home to some of the oldest Bali Aga villages, settlements that were not influenced by the customs brought to Bali from the Javanese courts. Some of these settlements were originally ancient trading posts with India, China, and beyond as long ago as the first century A.D. DINING: You may ask the housekeeper's mother to cook your meals of traditional Balinese food. There are daily catches of fresh fish or you may wish to dine next door at the healing centre which has a reasonably priced menu. Home cooked meals are by request so please check as the family also have their temple obligations and cannot always prepare meals for guests. SWIMMING: Right in front of your door is the Indian Ocean. SUNRISE: Every morning (obviously) in front of your balcony at around 5.30 – 6:pm and it’s a great way to welcome the day. FULL MOON: This is especially lovely at the Jomaro as the moon rises over the ocean, making the full moon especially romantic for those on honeymoons. DOLPHIN SPOTTING: Can be arranged the cost is around RP 300.000 around US 30.00 for a 2 hour trip. Pak Mega and his son Putu are the family fishermen and you can buy tuna or other fish from them in season. LES SACRED WATERFALL: The sacred waterfall is around 15min away and is a must see site. DIVING: There are various dive sites in the area. CEREMONIES: This is the Island of the Gods so many ceremonies throughout the year. The staff can let you know what's going on. MIND - BODY - SOUL: There are regular yoga and meditation in the surround area as well spa treatments with one of our staff. WINDSURFING: If you have your own gear you can windsurf in this area. SNORKELING: You can snorkel right in front of the property and we usually have snorkel gear but sometimes they go missing and takes a while to reorder but equipment can be rented from the resort next door. HAND PHONES: You can bring your phones as you can purchase SIM cards and get a local number for around $3 dollars including credit. DIVING: Coral rehabilitation and other sustainable marine conservation area. LOCAL BATHING POOL: In Tejakula’s main village there is a public bathing/washing pool, the water comes directly from the mountain so is constantly running. Male and female sections, no mixed bathing. CHILDREN: If you have come as family and want a bit of time just the two of you, our house keeper can look after your children and teach them how to make temple offerings out of coconut leaves. CAR RENTAL: If you want to get around the island a car can be arranged for hire with or without a driver. Sound like home?....we thought not. NB: There is internet via a modem and up to 6 guests can use it. You can buy credits on a SIM card to access the internet and the staff will be more than happy to supply those for you. Please be aware that during rainy season the internet may temporarily be unavailable or connection low. NB: Strictly No Pets
There is a holistic center very close and you can dine there and participate in yoga classes. The swimming pool is strictly for their own guests. On rare occasions the holistic resort is off limits due to a group booking the whole resort for a private holistic retreat. During these times our staff our happy to order from the many restaurants in the area and bring directly to you or our family can cook meals for you. There are many walks and wildlife is abundant.
  • Great place. We stay here often. Go out on a boat for a sunset cruise with Pak Mega the land owner and see the amazing coast and fishing life. If you don't catch any fish his wife can cook or order food delivery from Warung Sukun. Their fish is so fresh and the packet is affordable but spicy unless you ask for mild. Warung Seni just up the path also delivers amazing pizza and all sorts of healthy food. They are both hygienic places to eat from. Ibu from Abian Spa near by can come to villa give you a great massage or ask them to send someone. This beach house has recently been updated with new amenities so it is even better than before. Suksma.

  • We absolutely loved our stay at the beach house. We got lost in the mountains at night riding our motorbikes over the ridge (as Dewi had warned) when our GPSs started giving wonky directions and arrived somewhat late at night. The family greeted us with open arms without being upset at our lateness. The house is super nice, huge spacious living room, comfortable beds all around, can sleep a large amount of guests comfortably. The outdoor bathrooms were awesome, especially taking a shower under the stars! We spent a lot of time hanging out with the family and getting to know them. Mega was super welcoming and even shared some of their fresh fish catch that they grilled up on the beach. Putu took us out on the ocean on the boat that he built to give us a tour of the local fishing areas. Mega also showed us the reef that he and his fisherman club friends are growing themselves offshore near the beach that the house is on, and gave us fresh mangos to eat from their tree. We really enjoyed the house, and even more getting to know the family and seeing their property. Our goal was to stay away from tourists and spend time with Bali locals on our trip. Our last night we all hung out on the beach together drinking bintangs and sharing stories. I would absolutely stay here again if I were up in North Bali. They treated us as their own family and it really left a great impression of Bali for me. Thank you Dewi!

    Jacob2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you to the family for assisting during our stay to help us source food and other things we needed. The house is amazing. So open, clean, welcoming and warm. It’s great to be right at sea to hear the sound of the rolling waves and watch the sunrise over the volcanic islands surrounding. We were looking for a place that was quiet and secluded and at sea to rest heal and prepare for a new chapter in life. This house allowed us to reflect and rejuvenate for the step forward in life. While not as quiet and private as we thought before arriving...the family and neighbors we shared the beach and property with are friendly and sweet. So if you do need to share space it’s good to share with happy people!!! Thank you for everything we hope to return again some day, stay longer, prepare meals in the nice open kitchen, and do some snorkeling and explore the beautiful village here nestled between mountains and sea. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾Grateful there was a cancellation that allowed our requests to be received. Thank you!

If you want to stay away from the city with family and friends, give children a lot of exercise space, and want to be close to nature, this is the perfect choice! Micheal is a responsible host and always responds to my emails the first time. Dewi is very enthusiastic and kind. I feel warm and happy with you. • There are a lot of interesting places in this world. One of these places is located here on the island of Bali Tadjukula village. I came here with my family and spent 10 wonderful days here. We had everything: the sun, the ocean, the rocky shore, very warm weather and friendly Indonesian people. We met the sun in the morning. We saw wild dolphins. Were at the Waterfall. Thank you very much Lucy and Davie, they did everything to make the rest more beautiful. And many thanks to Michael to the one who organized the rest in the villa UMA SUKSMA. I advise everyone who hears me to visit here. Best regards, Mr. Rafil and his family.

  • It is a dream house. in real it looks even better, than in the photos. a house for those who are looking for tranquility. away from the tourists and the noise. the house has a giant swimming pool, 7x13 m large. a huge garden with direct access to the beach. (The beach is not made of sand, but of stones). In this place are practically only locals who are very friendly and helpful. Dewi and Lucy are responsible for the house. They and the staff were very friendly and always there for us. we had booked the dinner. The two cooks have always cooked us really delicious meal. from there you can make various excursions. just ask Dewi or Lucy. they take care of everything. The house is really recommended!

  • Michael’s property is nothing short of magical. The pictures do it justice. Tejakula, the village in which it’s located, is off the beaten path, so if you’re looking for seclusion, this is the place. There’s a nearby waterfall to see, bathe or hike. The property’s staff is so warm and welcoming. We couldn’t have had a better experience. Bring earplugs for the morning roosters! Pro-tip: Wake up for the sunrise.

  • We decided to celebrate our wedding with the magical and positive Balinese energy. We were choosing the beautiful villa of Michael for the celebration and with the incredible help of him and his staff Dewi and Lusi we experienced beautiful, unforgettable moments in one of the most beautiful places in Bali. Thank you very much again Michael !

  • As a family with 3 little kids we had a great experience in one of the best villa in the area. Beautiful design using local traditional craftmanship in building it, professional service and care given to the guests from the villa manager and his staff, we loved the meals, best we had during our stay in the island and we love the massages too. Very confy and open space place with great ocean view where kids can play all day between the spacius garden, the pool and the sea. Great chance to discover local villages, people and culture and away from the touristic spots of the island. There are nice spot to visit nearby: fishing village, salt farm, local market, a bit further within 30^40min drive waterfall, hikes, snorkeling and diving sites. Couples, families with kids and however need quite, relax and hassle free experience will love this place.

We invite you into a tropical paradise, located directly at the quiet northern Balinese beach. Experience the original feeling of living in Bali in our house built with traditional materials, surrounded by a beautiful garden with ocean view pool. Would you like to see Villa Mimpi from the air? Please go to https://youtu.be/j7iqL8oQCBs
Come and enjoy the sunrise from the master bedroom, the seaview from the terrace, garden and balinese pavillon, or the quietness of the interior garden. On the spacious wooden terrace you have your meals, prepared by either our chefs (highly recommended!) or yourselves. Up to four people can take joy in the interior of our house with high ceilings made from bamboo, wood and alang-alang, with a fresh sea breeze floating through the rooms. Sleep well in the two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, enjoying the sound of the sea. The master bedroom is equipped with aircon. For groups of more than four persons there is an additional small guesthouse „MIMPI BIRU“ in the front garden . There the guests are provided with a double-bed, bathroom, and a nice terrace. For our little guests we provide a baby-chair, -cot, -bathtub and a car seat. From the sea garden, a small staircase leads you to the black pebble and sand beach and the Bali sea. Just in front of Villa MIMPI is a beautiful small coral reef, perfect for snorkeling.
Villa Mimpi is situated in a quiet, typical balinese neighbourhood at the end of a small street leading to the center of Tejakula (1 km). There you find a morning market, some local shops, warungs (small restaurants) and an ATM.
  • Villa Mimpi was exquisite and really a relaxing setting in such a beautiful place. We felt right at home here and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a secluded spot in a very Balinese village away from the rush.

  • Well-kept and very, very nice villa with pool and fine music system to relax. The villa in live looks even better than in the pictures. Really a nice place to relax and unwind. For me one of the best locations away from the hustle and bustle of the island and who wants to be alone. However, there is also a beach club nearby if you want to go out with people.

  • Villa Mimpi was incredible, honestly the pictures don’t do it justice. It was absolutely beautiful and having your own private villa and pool looking out over the ocean was an amazing experience. The chefs were great and served us dinner right on the porch looking out over the pool and ocean. The ocean was very clear and we loved swimming in it (just bring water shoes for the rocks). The staff is so wonderful and helped us with any questions we had. Don’t hesitate to book this place, it was definitely the best place we’ve stayed in Bali!!

Although Tejakula is known for its black sand and pebbled beach, our Tropical Beach Lounge was built on a platform of white sand with a salt-water infinity pool. Along this north coast, you will find the Java Sea with traditional fishing boats and coral reef, making it safe and calm and great for swimming, snorkelling and diving. It is worlds apart from the chaotic and touristic south of Bali.

Enjoy the beauty of “Pantai” which stretches for approximately one hectare along the Pacific Ocean. Each of our eleven uniquely designed Balinese-style bungalows is located right on the seafront, providing quick access to swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing. The bungalows are constructed out of bamboo, natural stone and wood; some are covered by traditional Alang-Alang grass roofs. To reduce our carbon footprint, bungalows are designed to maximize airflow and use natural ventilation instead of AC.
Our rooms have open-air bathrooms, hot water, fully-equipped kitchens, mosquito nets, closets, towels, linen, and a day-bed.
Gaia is located in Tejakula, in the northern part of Bali, off the beaten track of mainstream tourism. We are in a small traditional hamlet where people are quiet and peaceful. Gaia Pantai is the perfect location for those wanting to be nestled in a green sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist belt, but still desiring to be within distance of many interesting sights in Bali. We are within 20 minutes of Ponjok Batu temple, one of Bali’s most important sea temples, where guests may go for a 'melukat' cleansing ceremony. Within 45 minutes' drive are many other temples, mentioned in every travel guide. For those who wish to climb a volcano, Mt Batur is within a 1 hour drive, and we have several waterfalls within 15 - 60 minutes drive considered the finest in Bali. Tejakula is home to Wayang Wong, a UNESCO world heritage listed semi-sacred dance form with stories from the Ramayana epic. We have 2 maestros of dance and wayang who are "Living Treasures of Bali", and our Gamelan troup has performed in Sweden, Japan and Europe. Another good feature of Tejakula is its drier climate. Whilst most of central Bali experiences long and almost daily rainfalls between December and March, Tejakula has shorter showers and the sun will be shining on most days.

To relax and unwind simply fantastic, for photo enthusiasts here is every moment to experience such original life, a sensation. Les has a forest sanctuary that leads up the mountain and you can hike to see caves, waterfalls, Hindu temples or birds. Or experience the incredibly beautiful sunrise by the sea, which is as calm as a lake. Go fishing for deep-sea fishing or fishing on the shore. See how salt is traditionally made or how coconuts, mangoes and rambutans are grown. Explore the morning village market. Learn about the medicinal plants that grow here and visit the many beautiful temples. A few miles away is the sunken USS Liberty - a beautiful artificial reef that invites you to dive. Our village "Les" is located in the middle of the north coast of Bali and it is a good base from which to explore many of Bali's most famous dive sites. • This place is amazing. We stayed here twice coming back for third time. Food is really good at the restaurant especially the bali food options. Cant say enough about this paradise place 😀😀😎

  • What a paradise! It was a true treat to wake up right on the water, getting to experience the fishermen coming & going and see the salt farms, being able to take some home with us! Made’s restaurant is so filled with intention! We really appreciated the care & attention to health & wellness that she provides here! Gede was so kind, helping us with first aid supplies that we were searching for & helping us load up our bikes again upon departure. The garden is truly phenomenal, and the community is a joy. We were so bummed not to stay longer, but I can imagine we’ll strive to come back someday! Thank you again for the wonderful (not even) 24 hours!

  • Beautiful quiet bungalows right near the beautiful Bali Sea. Nature at its best. Food at the restaurant Made operates is outstanding and fresh. If you need anything just ask the kitchen staff.

  • Staying at Gede’s place was a highlight of my trip. Gede’s place is a little oasis in Tejakula. The amenities meet your basic needs. The grounds are beautiful, the onsite restaurant is delicious, & most of all, the staff is INCREDIBLE. The women who took care of me at the restaurant, on-site massages (highly recommended both) & with every other need big & small were so sweet & accommodating. Don’t pass this lovely nugget by. ❤️

  • Absolutely loved Segara Lestari. We felt like we were at home, safe and comfortable, and BEAUTIFUL. Right by the ocean, had a beautiful swim, beautiful garden walkways, the kids were safe to run around freely. There are classes available if you are interested, though we had a packed agenda with local ceremony already with family. The restaurant has plenty to choose from for all tastes, though I always prefer the authentic Balinese cuisine. The rooms are clean and beautiful, comfy beds. Little gazebos and hammocks everywhere, and we enjoyed the walk down the beach seeing the salt making process and local fishermen. The road Jalan Segara is a bit narrow but we did fine in the car we rented, parking was fine, and it’s beautiful once you get there. We felt like we were at home the whole time and will DEFINITELY be staying here again. For the price we were able to afford 4 bungalows for the whole family to come stay. Thank you Gede for the beautiful experience.

  • We had two nice relaxing days in Gedes pretty accommodation. We were personally received by Gede. Our room was nicely decorated and very clean, with a great view of the lush garden and sea. The access to the sea is rocky, but you can go a bit further into the bay or drive, there is a piece of pebble beach. But you can from the restaurant, where you can really eat very delicious, the salt miners at their work, which is very interesting.

Lokasi di depan pantai, kebun yang luas, ada tempat pembuatan garam tradisional, matahari terbit sangat indah dan kehidupan tradisional di sekitar desa Tejakula.
  • Friendly hosts and staff. The place is very beautiful, green, right on the ocean, in the pool is body water that is pleasant to the body. The room is average, the repair could have been better, I liked the bathroom. Delicious food (order local, not European (European is not very). We did not find any other normal food in the district. We traveled around the whole district. Very beautiful sunrises. Quiet, but in the morning screaming roosters interfered with sleep (one of the few drawbacks of this villa).

  • Perfect place to escape from the busy Ubud or Canggu Areas. The Resort is beautiful and the staff always friendly and helpful. We had a sunrise tour with a local fishermen and catched a tuna that we had for lunch and dinner afterwards. It was an amazing experience. I can totally recommend to stay a few nights at the Amrita Villas.

  • This accommodation is really a dream! Beautiful if you want to relax for a few days. On our arrival we were warmly welcomed and got a welcome drink. The property is located in the north of Bali and right on the water. In front of the house, by sleeping is directly a giant large pool (4 meters deep), which is perfect for diving and relaxing. The weather was great too. The rooms are really nice and the breakfast is also included, very delicious! Directly in front of the property you can watch local people making salt. Very interesting! The property offers various excursions to do from there. So we saw many dolphins on a trip with a local fisherman and his small boat! You can also get a massage directly in the accommodation. This accommodation is really to be recommended!

  • This place is beautiful, you get up with a splendid view of the pool and the sea of Bali. The accommodation is removed from everything, very quiet and conducive to rest. Excursion possible via a guide, difficult to make the journeys on foot.

Here you can have a torrential bathe and pounding water massage. The villagers are friendly. They will smile and greet you on the road. No one would follow you selling T-shirts or pester you with souvenirs and shades for sale. There are professional masseuse in the village and they can do villa service upon request. Les is a walkable village and we encourage you to experience it on foot. If you must hurry there are ojeks (for rent motorcycles with driver) who can ferry you anywhere in the village for IDR5,000 to IDR10,000. Singaraja, Bali's second largest city and city closest to Les, is 45 minutes away by private car. You can also ride ojeks (motorcycles with drivers) for negotiated rates. Also 45 minutes away is Tulamben, a famous wreck and coral garden dive site. 1 hour away by car are Kintamani, Lovina and Amed. 1.5 to 2 hour away is Ubud. Denpasar/Sanur is 3 hours away. Transportation from the airport or any point in Bali to La Kubu is available upon request. For those who are driving from Denpasar, take the road going to Ubud and up to Kintamani. Where the road branches into two -- one for Kubutambahan and one for Madenan/Tejakula follow the road to Madenan/Tejakula until you reach the coastal road in Bondalem. Take a right turn heading to Amlapura. You will pass the village of Tejakula. Les comes next. The bridge separating it from Tejakula has road signs "DESA LES" and 'WATERFALLS". Take a left turn on the 3rd street to your left from the bridge. The corner of this street has a large red signboard with "SEA COMMUNITIES" and several arrows. Follow this local road until you see a small store to the left. La Kubu is beside this small store. You can reach us by mobile phone for further directions.

  • The main thing about le Kubu is the hospitality. Made was a perfect host, very proud of his island and it's customs and willing to take any amount of time to explain them to us when we had questions. His mother, who lives nearby takes care of the place and brought us a Balinese breakfast, including more fruit than we could eat, each morning. We extended our stay to take in the Galungan festivities and ended up staying more than a week with Made and his mother and it will be one of our most lasting memories of Bali. We walked everywhere which worked fine except that the the two warungs on the beach got a little boring for a long stay. There are better ones in the village but the walk back in the dark was a bit intimidating because of the busy street. I imagine most people would rent a motor bike to make things more accessible but we were there to unwind after a hectic month and Made was happy to provid transportation to the places too far to walk. All said la Kubu was exactly what we wanted.

  • Our stay at La Kubu was so beautiful! Made and his mother were so incredibly gracious, Made actually brought us to his cousin's wedding which was an amazing experience! He was present enough to support us in exploring what we wanted in the area but wasn't forceful about any of it, just meeting us with what we wanted. His mother made us breakfast every morning which was so sweet and in the afternoons brought us cut up fresh fruit. Such a great, peaceful space that feels well integrated into the surrounding community.

  • The homestay was really nice! Quiet clean and very close to the beach! We really enjoyed our stay and recommend it! Thank you!

  • We couldn't have been given a warmer welcome. Made and his mother made us feel like part of the family -- we were so sad to leave. We learned a lot about life in Les and Balinese culture. The garden is beautiful, and the sea is just a few minutes walk away. There is a small pebble beach and some reefs that are being restored just off the shore. Everyone in the village is very friendly and there are plenty of places around where you can grab a bite to eat.

  • The villa is a very nice one in a well maintained garden. The mother of the owner is a very nice host despite see don't speak much English, but Google translate make that problem not to big. The traditional breakfast is nice and tasteful. Also is the tranquillity a nice experience. We will certainly book again when we are in Bali next time.

    Jacques2019-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, lovely people, and a true Balinese experience. I would recommend Made's place to anyone visiting the area.

  • We had a lovely one-night stay in one of the La Kubu bungalows. The grounds are beautiful, the room very comfortable, and it was great to have access to the kitchen. It was also nice to explore the local area a little, and there seem to be a couple of nice restaurants on the seafront (very nearby). Hospitality was great, too, and visiting the Yeh Mempeh Waterfall, in the area is highly recommended.
