Wow what an amazing stay. Can absolutely not flaw any part of the stay. Sarah is an incredible host, the location is in an amazing area with beautiful nature. It's clean, homely and I can't wait to recommend it to all my friends. Perfect for a couple or girlfriend trip wanting to enjoy the Canberra wine district.

A nice and quiet place for a retreat, and only 30 minutes drive from Canberra! The hosts are welcoming, and the wines are great. Definitely go for the tour and wine tasting if you can. The kitchen is also well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay although it was rainy.

We had a lovely time staying at Sarah's vineyard, accompanied by delicious wine taste testing and cheese platers. It is the perfect weekend away for a couple looking to experience the local wine region (a meere 20 minutes from Canberra cbd). 10/10 :)

Great little place to stay, warm and cosy, sunrise over the vines, ducks on the pond, wine and cheese platter - it was just lovely. Also fantastic coffee, service and breakfast at Cafe Wood Works in Bungendore (Sarah's recommendation).

I was not entirely comfortable arriving late to the homestay in the dark on a relatively remote country road . However, Arianna made us feel at ease and welcom e(upon her return an hour or so after we arrived). The key was where it was supposed to be and the house spotlessly clean. After we lit the fire and had a cup of tea all my trepidations melted away . I enjoyed the house and hospitality of Arianna and also very cute dogs:-)

We have had a lovely stay at Arianna and Adrian's house. They welcomed us with open arms, and happily showed us around their property. They also accommodated for our 4 month old puppy, who quickly bonded with one of their dogs. The view from their house really is spectacular, with plenty of kangaroos grazing in nearby fields. I had the best nights sleep I have had in a long time as the bed was so comfy and the sheets so luxurious. The breakfast was delicious, and healthy. Arianna and Adrian are a really lovely, interesting, and personable couple! Really I cannot fault our stay in anyway, all I can do is agree with all of the other reviewers! Six stars out of five! A quiet place to recharge

Arianna and Adrian were fantastic hosts. Very accommodating, full of local knowledge and provided a great place to stay and enjoy the local surrounds. Our stay felt like we were catching up with life long friends; very genuine and great company. Their two dogs also provided us with our puppy fix. Very comfy bed.

My partner and our little dog stayed with Arianna and Adrian and their two dogs for one night in January on our way back from the Central Coast of NSW to Melbourne. Arianna's home sits atop a hill overlooking a valley between the townships of Collector (the nearest town) and Gundaroo. Their relatively modern though modest home is somewhat isolated and on an unpaved road. The outlook is delightful, matched only by Arianna's and Adrian's hospitality. We were welcomed like friends and beforehand Arianna was excellent in staying in touch about our arrival. Overnight we had our own quarters in the house, well separated from the living area other sleeping areas. After a restful night we were fed a hearty cooked breakfast over a lovely chat about and farewelled with a suggestion we stay again. We'd recommend Arianna's place to anyone keen to get off the beaten track, a getaway from Canberra, or seeking a peaceful stop between Sydney and Melbourne.

We stayed with Arianna and Adrian for just a single night on our way to Canberra, but we wish we could have stayed longer! The view from their ridge-top home is amazing, the room is very clean and comfortable, and the hosts are very friendly (and cook a great breakfast). We did not get time to explore the property, but maybe next time! Although (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps directed us to a place about a kilometre closer to Canberra, we were easily able to find the house due to their instructions.

Arianna and Adrian were amazing hosts. What a friendly stay we had, we arrived late and got a bit lost, we called for help, drove back for a few minutes and Adrian was waiting for us at the gate. The house was warm, and we felt welcomed straight away. The room was very comfortable, and what a beautiful view at sunrise. Adrian joined me for a run and took me over the hill so that I could enjoy the view over Lake George that happen to be full of water right now...., and then, they both had a yoga class in their living room with my partner who happen to be an yoga teacher. I would greatly recommend to anyone to stay with them at anytime. This is what Airbnb is about... Looking forward to visit again during summer and have a swim in the dam. PS: oh, and Arianna made us a very yummy breakfast in the morning.

The property was fantastic. I highly recommend arriving for the sunset if you can, as the view is incredible! Bed was very comfortable, they were flexible with arrival times and more than hospitable in the morning until I left.

Jess and alberts place is a real Bush retreat, off the beaten track and somewhere to enjoy Canberra's mountains and views. Lovely to see the kangaroos, and all the nature provided. The track is a reminder of no tar roads which is great. Jess is always on hand via a text which is helpful. Carry a torch at night especially when it's dark and you come in late. The stars are beautiful and a lovely area. Overall was a great stay and our lovely dog was thought of too. The kids loved it and will be an option again for us. Thank you

All communication was a breeze before, during and after our stay. Awesome property, we loved being in the bush yet only 20 mins from Canberra, you really can have the best of both worlds! For city folk like us, Kangaroos out of the kitchen window is a special treat. This property is excellent for all but excels for children, from the safety features to the toys and books our three year old was in heaven. Albert and Jessica are very thoughtful in this regard. With a trip that included trips to Questacon and The National Dinosaur Museum he declared his favourite part of the trip was the house, high praise indeed!

We loved every minute of our stay! Our hosts were most helpful and answered all our questions before and during our stay. Our mornings and afternoon were filled with birds' songs and we managed to meet some of the native neighbours. Thank you for letting us stay.

We had a great time at Albert and Jessica's. A really well thought out house. The kitchen was well equipped, plenty of room for myself and my 111 and 14 yo daughters, and my 8 yo son. We lived the main table, and the neighboring kangaroos. It's very child friendly. My kids loved the exercise bike. The main leather couch was very comfy on the warm Canberra nights we experienced. And Albert and Jessica were totally helpful when i had trouble working things out. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again and would fully recommends it to anyone else.

A lovely spot to get away for a few days. Kids loved the afternoon visit from the Lizards & Kangaroos! They also loved the range of toys etc available in the house. Albert & Jess made sure we felt at home, right down to leaving a Birthday Cake & matching age candle in the fridge after picking up on why we were visiting - a lovely touch. Great proximity to Canberra where we spent our days sight seeing before retiring to the tranquility of the property in the afternoons.

The kitchen was well equipment and no problems through our stay. The property has lovely bush land and plenty of wild visitors.

Jess and Albert were wonderful. They replied very promptly to our original request about certain conditions, and were very obliging and helpful. Once booked, they made sure everything went well, making sure directions were clear for arrival, etc. I booked this for my father-in-law and friends from overseas, so didn't personally stay at the property, but all who stayed were thrilled with the property. Plenty of 'roos and Australian countryside to see, and they said it felt just like staying at a friends house.

Our only disappointment was we couldn't stay longer! Hosts were generous and efficient, good communication too. The accommodation is fitted out beautifully with everything you need for a cosy night in. We will be coming again, much more enjoyable (and affordable) way to visit Canberra.

This is a top spot and ideal if you want something quiet, friendly and only 20 mins from Canberra. The accomodation is excellent and very comfortable. Our hosts were most welcoming. We all thoroughly enjoyed being there and were sad to leave. We will definitely be back.

The apartment was neat, well furnished, and well presented. The heating was very welcome on the chilly Autumn nights. Our host was friendly and welcoming, and we even had chilled water and free range eggs in the fridge on arrival. A great stay.

This is a great place to go for peace and quiet, to relax and unwind. The cabin is super cute with an incredibly comfortable bed! You can read poems that have been left by other visitors on the wall of the bathroom and leave your own which I thought was a very sweet and creative touch. The hosts were extremely friendly and full of great advice and information about surrounding areas. There is a cute country pub in Collector just down the road that has a kitchen serving all your pub grub, the cafe was closed during our visit but I have been told it supplies beautiful home made food. You can go for a walk to the top of the road and watch a beautiful sunset over the valley whilst kangaroos jump around on either side of you. The hosts are very flexible and were kind enough to allow us a late check-in and check-out at a last minute booking. I highly recommend a visit here for individuals, couples and even families.

Great studio with massive dimensions. Wonderful for dogs the yard is great. Kate is an excellent host very caring. So close to Bungendore too!

Kate's place was so lovely and luxurious! Such a modern space out in the quiet outskirts of Canberra. Kate and Doug, were wonderful hosts and would go above and beyond to cater for my needs even helping me out with the fireplace and technical difficulties. I would highly recommend this place!

Great stay in Bungendore. The host was welcoming and helpful, the accommodation was very clean and tidy, and we enjoyed our quiet time in the Australian country.

Our host, Belinda was very helpful and we kept in touch by text in the immediate lead up to arrival. we were very tired and pleased with the easy access and no fuss. very clean and cosy space on a very cold day.

Belinda kept in touch with us through Airbnb, and tried to be helpful, suggesting places we could go to and visit. We had no trouble finding the house, and the house was clean and had thoughtful flowers and candles.

The peace, quietness and lovely garden make this a great place to stay for checking out Canberra and surroundings. There are some great walks, beautiful roads and parks to discover. Belinda is a host you wish for:-)

It is a quiet spot in the country but still only 45 minutes from Canberra. We enjoyed the cottage and tripping around looking the local vineyards. Thanks to Kate, we had everything we needed.

Lovely secluded cottage. Perfect for a weekend away. I'd highly recommend! Was nice to hear the rooster in the morning and see little lambs! Clean, comfortable and nice touches like fresh flowers and jam.

A delightful little cottage tucked among the trees on a quiet country road, perfect for a weekend retreat. It has been very carefully renovated, and has a fresh and contemporary interior, much more so than I'd assumed from the photos. Lots of thoughtful touches, including farm fresh eggs, tomatoes and cut herbs, a well stocked pantry, and a good selection of recent fiction (not the decades old paperbacks that make some places feel stale) and other books about the area. Saturday dinner at The Grazing in Gundaroo (25 min), and excellent coffee for breakfast just around the corner (4 min) at the Some Cafe, where we also picked up a few bottles of Collector wines. At 40 min from Canberra, or 2 hrs 20 min from central Sydney, why not?

Kate's Place...what can I say, book in quick, when word get's out about this place, it will be in high demand. Kate's cottage is 40mins from Canberra and less than 5 minutes off the motorway, so idea for those travelling and passing through, and still more than a reasonable commute for those visiting Canberra. You are supplied with breakfast items, including eggs from their own hens - very delicious! However this is also a great local cafe call SOME which is just 2 minutes away, just check the opening hours, as they are not open every day. The cottage is comfortable, cosy, a lovely size for a single person or a couple. Am definitely booking in again!

Kate and James where great hosts and the cottage was nice and unique set on a peacefull farm just outside of town. I would recommend Some Cafe which had great food and service also next door to the Cafe you can try some good local wines at the Cellar Door

James was very welcoming, and provided us with a very detailed explanation of how to reach the property including a video! He came and greeted us upon our arrival and was very friendly without being intrusive.

James was very welcoming and friendly and did everything he could to make the stay warm and enjoyable. One certainly feels like one has escaped the pressures of daily life very quickly in the wonderful rural environment which is off the beaten track and very peaceful.

James made us feel very welcome. We were late arriving and didn't want to disturb them but he came over and made sure everything was ok and we didn't need anything. We had a relaxing evening.

The country setting is simply beautiful and the house is homely and well fitted out.James is a perfect host and gave us great advice as to the best place to eat.We took his advice and took a morning walk to the mountain. It took about 2 hours and we saw wallabies and many wombat holes.James dogs accompanied us on the walk and they are so funny when they chase the cows. I definitely will come back

My review for this stay from two years ago should still be visible in the list of reviews. This long-anticipated stay was just as pleasant as the first. Communication with James was easy and I felt personally welcomed. Milk and other basic consumables were provided in the modern kitchen. All bedding and towels were 100% cotton. The bathroom is showing slight signs of wear following an extended period of full-time tenancy at this property which is much in demand. However all appliances and facilities are in good working order. The gas heater kept the entire living and kitchen area very warm on cold autumn mornings and the large, stand-alone freezer is particularly welcome for travellers with freezer bricks who bring in, and then take home, their own food. I enjoyed burning wood collected on the huge property in the cast-iron fire pit which allowed for a spectacular starlit night around the fire. Highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Gib. The house was very comfortable and cozy. The kitchen is very well equipped with good basic breakfast provisions which is a nice touch if you arrive late the night before. The bed is soft & very comfortable, and the heater warms up the house very quickly. The view from the house was spectacular and tranquil. The walk up the mountain is recommended and one of the friendly dogs will show you the way. Kangaroos and wallabies can be seen in the distance. The photos do not to do the place justice! James is such a delightful host who made sure that our stay was as comfortable as possible while providing much privacy during the entire stay. I would highly recommend this place and will return again!

Had a wonderfully quiet night on this amazing property. James was very welcoming and showed me around the cottage I was staying in. It has anything you would want in a country retreat - great kitchen, awesome view over the property, cattle in the front yard. Had an awesome night in the pub down the road too. This is a perfect place to stay. It's clean, well-appointed and extremely well-equipped. The hosts are kind, attentive and generous and it is located in a very pretty part of the country. Canberra and surrounds are easily accessible by car; there is native fauna everywhere.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Cottage. Ross was there to welcome us, and showed us around. We had enough space for 3 adults, a toddler and our dog. Loved the tranquility of the location. We were even able to spot kangaroos and parrots. Our toddler loved the little lake nearby and our dog went nuts running around in the fields. Breakfast was provided (croissants, eggs, butter, jams, oats and muesli). A very lovely cupple, who clearly put a lot of effort and love into this place.

Had a great stay on the property. Saw some beautiful kangaroos as we drove in. Unfortunately only there one night and we were off early the next morning so missed seeing the whole place. Looked beautiful with the frost in the morning though. Cottage is very modern and has everything you need. I'm sure we'll be back!

A beautifully styled home that is spacious and serene. Creature comforts are supplied and hosts were quick to repsond. We wish we had more time to enjoy ourselves in such a wonderful space and would not hesitate to recommend to family and friends!

The cottage is extremely well kept and while modern it has a homely character that made the stay comfortable. Ross was a very respectful host and apart from initial pleasantries gave us total privacy in our sweet cottage away from it all.

Charming cottage on the fringe of Canberra. Welcoming hosts. Spotlessly clean with comfortable bed and modern amenities. Fully self contained. Breakfast provisions were an unexpected gesture and much appreciated. You won't be disappointed if you stay here and you may get to see some kangaroos.

It was an amazing experience. The cottage is even more beautiful than in the photos. Modern, clean, specious, warm and cosy. Ross had kindly left us croissants, jam, eggs, milk and some other yummy stuff which made it as warm as your own home. The cottage gives you a country experience but it is still very close to the city. Kangaroos are roaming around and our labrador loveeeeeed walking around watching them. We definitely go back ,hopefully this time in Summer where we could enjoy the bbq outside. Thanks Ross.

Booked the place for my father, he had a job in Canberra for the week. Penny was very helpful during the stay, the house is comfortable and clean. He would stay there again for the next work trip to Canberra, he says its more relaxing than a hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at Butmaroo Station! Our young children loved running around and seeing the sheep, cows, horses, chickens, and all the other animals. The farmhouse was very comfortable and clean, and there is a great large deck to relax on, eat some dinner, and watch the sun set. Penny was a fabulous host making sure that we had everything we needed without being intrusive. We appreciated the extra efforts she made to make us feel welcome and at home. This is great stay, relaxing and comfortable. Take you bikes as there are great tracks through the farm. Waking every morning to the sound of birds was a great change to city traffic. The house has everything you could possibly need, Kids love feeding and patting the cows nearby, overall is was great stay...we will be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Easter long weekend spent here! The views from the deck are second to none - so relaxing!! Our kids (ages 2-10) had an absolute ball exploring the yard and the paddocks. We loved walking through the different paddocks and soaking up the views and the fresh air and talking to the animals. The house is huge - plenty of space even for our large group of 10 (5 adults, 5 kids). The kitchen/dining area is so friendly and a lovely place to spend hours chatting and snacking and relaxing. I highly recommend this for a relaxing getaway! We would love to visit again. Thanks Penny for an amazing long weekend! We honestly had a great time.

I was very happy with my stay at Tanya's place. The accomodation was spacious and clean. It is in a very pleasant rural setting with plenty of local wildlife. It was working in Canberra and the morning commute was very easy. I thought the bed was a highlight - very comfortable.

We had a wonderful time at Susanne's place. She is a great host and we were very well looked after. The accomodation was very comfortable and had lovely views. For anyone visiting I would strongly recommend keeping some time aside to explore Susanne's property.

After a very long 14 hour drive it was a welcoming site. Kangaroos at the front door. The cottage was lovely and clean and had everything we required for our short stay. Tim was a lovely host. Would highly recommend this place.
