  • Stunning view and amazing place. Kids and i had a blast

    Nathan2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is a great weekend get away. The cabin has everything you need. Fully stocked kitchen, grills, fire pit, dock on the lake with an armada of water transportation options, horseshoe pits, etc. We stayed with 6 adults very comfortably. Great location right on the lake and only 20 min from grocery store, etc. The cabin was clean and both the management company and the property owners were very communicative and welcoming. Check in was very easy. We'll be back!

  • This is an amazing lake house and we loved our stay here. Plenty of water toys for the lake. Some board games for the family to play and well decorated. Definitely would come again.

  • This was a beautiful private stay. Everything was perfect just what I expected

    Ashley2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • A rustic and private spot that was great for a weekend of quiet relaxation. The pond is really beautiful and just a few minutes through beautiful woods. Especially enjoyed the woodstove and recliners.

  • Craig’s cabin is an excellent space to go for unplugging and relaxing in simplistic serenity. I found the whole place warm and inviting, and the private location was so far removed from light pollution that the sky truly popped. I was happily surprised to find firewood supplied to add to the warmth and character of the rest of the space. Craig was very responsive and communicative, and went out of his way to make sure I had realistic expectations. I would absolutely stay again

Welcome to our guest space: a daylight basement, with parking next to your own entry, and bathroom with shower. Upon arrival, you'll enter your own door and survey your space: a queen bed with memory foam, table, coffee pot, mini fridge, closet, and bathroom. The far "wall" is a locked privacy panel. Our family area is upstairs so you won't be disturbed. We spend lots of time enjoying the wonderful Maine summer outdoors. We happily welcome you to our little corner of Maine!
NOTE: As home to 5 children, we do our best to keep them quiet, but they are typically awake around 7-7:30. To muffle any noise you may hear, we encourage you to run the bathroom vent fan as that softens the upstairs sounds. (Also, since this is their home, they will run, sing, laugh, and act like kids all day until their 8 PM bedtime.)
Waterboro is a wonderful little town with small local businesses and community events. We love to visit the many lakes and parks in our community. The ocean beaches are less than an hour away, and one of our favorites, Wells Beach is only about 45 minutes from us. For the avid nature fan, walker, biker, runner, or bird watcher, we recommend the trails close to us, but also the Rail Trails in Sanford, about 10 miles away.
  • Becky is a great host. She is helpful and always approachable. I would book the accommodation with her again at any time.

    Daniela2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay! Becky was a great host; very clean; lots of extras to make us feel at home.

    Myrna2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Becky’s space is like Pinterest come to life! There are so many thoughtful touches and amenities. It was relaxing, clean, and a joy to stay in! Would 100% stay again!

    Megan2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • As mentioned in the description, the children around the house are a bit loud (running through the house, etc) throughout the day, if you are staying in your room in the afternoon, but it starts to die down around night time. If you need to rest up for the whole afternoon after a long day of traveling and are a light sleeper, I do not recommend this place due to the noise. Overall, the area was pretty quiet and relaxing, and the room was cozy. There were snacks waiting for us when we arrived, which was a nice touch after a long drive.

    Chris2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very nice and comforting. Becky was also one of the nicest hosts I have met

    Morgan2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Becky is a great host. The place is spotless. Yes, like she says, it could be a little noisy in the morning but it did not bother us at all. Would not hesitate to stay at her place again.

    Francois2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Price is great for this private room with your own entrance & bathroom. It has a mini fridge which Becky had stocked with water bottles & milk for cereal & muffins made by her daughter! It was a joy to stay here.

    Martha2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Becky is one of the nicest Airbnb hosts we have ever met! She created a really comfortable and cozy space with many extra touches provided for her guests such as toothbrushes, little chocolate treats and bottled water in the fridge. And when the weather turned cooler, she left an extra blanket for us with a sweet note:) The room is even better than the description and Becky is quick to respond to any questions and helpful in every way. Even though Waterboro is about 40 min from Portland, it was a pleasant drive through the countryside. For the mornings, Becky also provides a coffee maker, breakfast cereals and Becky’s daughter bakes delicious treats! We really enjoyed our stay with this family and we would definitely return again if we are in the area!

    Arun2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • It is clean and comfortable. The bed is extremely soft. If you need a soft bed, this will be perfect for you. They had freshly made banana bread out on the counter which was lovely.

  • Quaint cute space, perfect for a weekend reunion for best friends! Peter and Mim very very responsive and the space was super clean!

    Meaghan2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Peter & Mim’s place was great. It has a very cozy feel and was located among trees. There were fresh breakfast items left for us, which was a nice gesture. I would stay there again.

    Kamelianna12019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Immaculate, spacious and comfortable. Peter and Mim are responsive and kind. There was milk and eggs in the fridge and homemade spice cake. Sebago Lake, biking, walking trails, you name it and it is close by. Only 30 minutes to Portland. Don't hesitate!

    Naomi2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, right on the nature reserve, with a full kitchen, living area, & deck, in an attached guest wing of the main house. Perfect for those looking to disconnect and spend some time in nature. Wish we'd had more time to explore. Even their neighbors were nice; we stumbled onto someone's land while trying to find a way out of the reserve (tbf we were slightly off-trail). The lady out in the garden was nothing but kind, even mildly amused, to see two random people sheepishly emerging from the woods onto her property. I'm sure there are actual trails you can walk on, we just walked straight into the woods from our hosts' backyard and found our way around the marshes & into the reserve. Found some weird quarry-looking place that has clearly been dug up, weren't sure what that was about, but we had to leave for a wedding before we could explore further. Saw some awesome bird action; wild turkeys, vultures, jays. Do a tick check after you leave though, we had a ton of them on us. Thanks to Peter & Mim for being such gracious hosts. Also, Mim is an incredible baker, if you get a chance to try some of her baked goods, DO IT <3

  • Marta and Erwin’s place was great! My girlfriend and I had spent two weeks in quarantine, and we wanted a pretty place outside of the city where we could continue our social distancing :) It ended up being absolutely perfect for that. It’s out in the woods and pretty isolated, and an awesome place to go for a walk. Our dog really enjoyed it! It was sparkling clean and there were so many little touches that made it a perfect place to hang out indoors. Would absolutely recommend!

    Stacy2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was excellent. It was spacious and well lit. The kitchen was well stocked, the living room was comfortable, the entire space was wonderful to hang out in. Would absolutely go back again.

    Brian2020-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was clean and spacious. The host had puzzles and games for guest to use as well as a a binder with menus of local eateries. Was a pleasure to stay and will definitely return and recommend others to visit.

    Maggie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Marta and Erwin are simply awesome! One of the best stays we’ve ever had so far! They’re super responsive and were providing a lot of options to overcome some unexpected weather related hiccups which they of course didn’t have any control on! Everything worked out perfectly and they truly made us felt at home, and our dog simple loved them! Hats off to them for being such outstanding hosts! Thanks soo much guys!

Beautiful lakefront cabin with access to fishing rods, kayaks, canoe, and small motorboat. Inside there is two bedrooms, a fully functioning kitchen, a full bathroom and shower. Come relax by the lake and enjoy our home. The cottage is pet friendly. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions :) Thanks! IMPORTANT: NO WIFI OR CABLE TV AT COTTAGE
Note: Cell phone service is spotty at best at the cottage. If you drive about 5min down the road there is a little convenience store (Boonies) where there is better cell reception.
The lake and surrounding neighborhood was created as part of Hargraves Woolen Mill which as established in 1844 by John Hargraves. The mill produced blue cashmere blouses and union solider uniforms during the Civil War. Just up the road on Main Street is an old school house and post office. The cottage was the built as the general store for the town. The mill was closed in 1924 and today the small community is made up nice and wonderful people always willing to lend a hand. There are three apple orchards within ten minutes of the cottage (Kelly's, Smiths, and Romac) and a local maple sugarhouse (Thurston and Peter's) which has local 100% real maple syrup and maple soft serve ice cream.
  • Highly recommend! Right on the lake, the boats were great, fire pit awesome, peaceful and wonderful! Hiked Abbott mnt went 🍎 and 🍑 picking at Kelly's, sampled fresh maple syrup at thurstons with a scoop of of ice cream. Enjoyed the hammock. Too much to list!! Absolutely amazing

    Lenor2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house was awesome. The pictures look exactly like the way it is. The lake is absolutely amazing, we had a great time using the boats. We met some friendly neighbors, we had a great time getting to know them. The house isn't very big though, but we were 5 guys and we all fit just fine. The house comes with all sorts of amenities, even things you wouldn't think about like coal etc. And just a side note, the house comes with books for us to read and one of the guys liked his book so much, he messaged John to ask if he would be willing to sell it to him. He replied take it free of charge! also shout out to don amazing neighbor!!!

    Joseph2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • John and Rachel are great hosts with very responsive and timely communication. Their home was stocked with too many accommodations to list that helped make our stay smooth and special. Our family enjoyed percolating coffee, boating on the pond, chatting with neighbors, and sight seeing at recommended places. Peaceful and perfect for an unique Maine experience.

    Amy2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a historic and nostalgic lakeside cabin that is homey and comfortable. My favorite part was being able to take the kayak out on the lake which was completely free of any other people. I chose the perfect place to go to recharge and relax.

    Debra2019-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here is like staying in a Bob Ross painting - the view is so picturesque and gorgeous, so many happy little trees. This is the perfect place to kick back, unplug, and relax with friends and family.

    Olivia2018-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time. The cottage has everything you will need. It is beautiful, quiet, and restful place. The water was refreshing. We brought our own kayaks and went as far as we could up Little Ossipee River. Awesome. John was very responsive to our questions and the checkin/checkout process was very easy. We plan to return.

    Tina2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in the place. The spot is amazing and I felt happiness there. The lake in front of the house gave me peaceful and unforgetable moments. We,d like to come back one day from Spain. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

  • A hidden gem! This cabin on Shapleigh Pond has something for anyone looking to escape the rat race. Great space for families. The neighbors were friendly and enjoyed chatting. The Loons and their babies come visit the yard. There is no fire pit, so be prepared to be inside at night.

  • Meg's place is a cozy apartment with tasteful furnishings and filled with unique and interesting photos and antiques. The location is quiet and the surroundings are picturesque Maine countryside. Meg herself was a wonderful host - very helpful, personable and extremely responsive. She has thought about all the little touches that make her place feel warm and welcoming. If you are in southern Maine and looking for a relaxing place to stay, my wife and I can highly recommend Meg's place!

  • Cozy little apartment, comfortable and clean. Two well behaved small dogs and one extremely friendly and loving cat. A few chickens that just avoided us. Check in was super easy and Meg gave us multiple good restaurants to try, along with a binder full of more restaurants and local activity’s to do. around

    Jacob2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was so nice to stay in and was an easy drive in and out of Portland, with much to do around the area as well. The apartment was extremely clean and had so many amenities, like breakfast and a huge assortment of DVD movies to watch at night. We had such a lovely stay and would definitely go back if in Maine again.

    Alyssa2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little hide-away 30mins or so from Portland. Was a PERFECT location for us, just down the road from small music festival at a friend's farm. Meg was gracious and welcoming -- waiting up on the porch to greet her slightly delayed arrivals with no complaint and giving us a quick tour to settle us in. The space is very tidy and very homey. It's like, part of the basement of the main house, but it's almost like being on a quaint little movie-set house in the middle of the larger unfurnished space. There's a minifridge and some essentials right outside the main door, the netflix works nicely, the bed's on the soft side, but comfy. Really pretty back yard and patio area if you get a chance to just chill out. All in all a great spot.

  • Clean, cozy and not too far from cool places like Portland and the White Mountains. It was a pleasure to stay at Meg's apartment.

    Jordan2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Meg’s place was a nice stay for us. It was myself, husband, and one year old daughter. She has a big backyard with a garden and chickens that my daughter loved to go look at. Plenty of kids books and games as well which is such a nice touch. She has a great book that tells you local recommendations and places to eat if need be. We were there for one night, just passing through. In the description and book a continental breakfast is advertised but there was nothing left out for us, other then that, everything else was nice.

A nice step up from outdoor camping. A rustic hillside camp with an amazing water view for your vacation. Lakeside cottage with use of boats included. A hammock for relaxing, grill, picnic tables and a small fire pit. Both an upper and lower patio.
Your accommodations include a 1 queen-sized bed, 1 full-sized futon and 2 bunk beds. With cable TV, wireless internet, and a small kitchen, a full EXTERIOR bathroom with running toilet, sink, shower and running hot & cold water. There are a couple of space heaters used in the fall for chilly mornings so dress accordingly. Our camp is in the lakes region of Southern Maine 30 mins. from the ocean as well as the White Mountains. Use of rowboat and paddle boat included. This summer cabin is a place to kick back and relax and leave your worries behind. The location being lakeside, the generous patio and picnic area are what many guests come here for. The cabin has a full, working kitchen (though very small and not much counter space). It has an apartment sized fridge and stove. Pots and pans and always supplied with cooking utensils, plastic eating utensils, paper towels, paper plates and paper cups for easy clean-up. :) There is also a brand new Brinkman grill to cook with on the patio. Also, we have a small tabletop charcoal grill. It has a breath taking view of the lake and when the moon is full the nights are breath taking as well. We have a small stereo, a VHS/DVD player and an extensive movie collection for night time or any rainy weather. Guaranteed to be the rustic and relaxing stay you're looking for. Fishing licenses can be purchased at Sanford Maine City Hall. Cost of nonresident licenses are: 1-day ($12), 3-day ($24), 7-day ($44), 15-day ($48) and season ($66).
Lakeside. Surrounded by trees. On a well maintained dirt road. There are eight camps on my road but the neighboring cottages aren't too close. I've seen many lakeside cabins where the neighbors are 20 feet apart. Ours are a couple hundred feet apart. The neighbor on one side is never there and there other side is year round but just one person lives there. Portland and Portsmouth are both one hour away. Boston is two hours away. The White Mountains, Kennebunkport and Wells are about thirty minutes away. You are directly on the lake with a private swimming area. It's not a sandy beach but there is a public beach and also a private sandy beach very close by, use of the boats are included. It's also a great fishing spot. There is a small fire pit for cooking s'mores. Plenty of parking available.
  • Cute and rustic with a fantastic lake view.

    Krysta2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what a beautiful view!! Perfect rustic maine getaway location. Not a high end hotel feel in the slightest. But if you're coming to Maine and want to experience nature you don't want that anyways! The big bed on the porch gives the most amazing view. Loved waking up to it every morning! Reggie has a large collecting of vcr tapes for any of your tastes. There's a bunk bed in a little room and a futon that pulls out in the living room. There aren't any baking sheets I could find so bring that if you need one but other than that they have everything you could need. They also have replaced their small fridge in the pictures for a large one so that was a nice surprise. It's an older place and with that comes some little quirks that are to be expected. One being when too many things are plugged in the breaker trips but it's in the bunk room and labeled so relatively easy to figure out. Don't go to Ted's clan shack if you go here. Their food is tasteless but Hannaford in Sandford is 12 minutes away so anything you would need is right there or the brew shoppe down the road or the sunoco gas station has a ton of stuff as well and it's two minutes from the cabin. The row boat reggie has is great and was our favorite part. He has a kayak, canoe and paddle boat as well but thankfully we brought our own kayaks because the canoe must have had a hornets nest in it because we couldn't go near it and the paddle boat was filled with mother nature and looked to heavy for us to tackle to clean. Especially next to the hornet nest ha. One thing the pictures doesn't show is also a new deck next to the cabin too. Both of the decks are gorgeous. We even saw an eagle land. I highly recommended this rustic cabin and we will definitely be returning if reggie let's us. It was a little cold while we were there but he had tons of space heaters and messaged me during the trip to warn about weather to make sure we used them.

    Michelle2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome spot! Awesome Rustic Cabin. About as off the grid as you can be, with some basic amenities such as hot water and electricity. The most beautiful view over looking the lake! We cannot wait to come back!

    Tj2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is the most beautiful spot on a beautiful lake in a wonderful town. If you are looking for an old fashioned summer vacation, to feel your blood pressure decreasing, and to catch the odd smallmouth bass, this is the place for you.

    Jarrett2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time fishing and loved that we we're able to indulge in Maine lobster and seafood at some of the local restaurants. Kennebunk and Portland were great day trips. Our first trip to Maine and we will defiantly be back.💕

  • Awesome place and a great location

    John2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had SO MUCH FUN! Our kids want to come back every summer and make it a new family tradition. We have two teenagers and with my husband, the two kids, myself and our 60lb husky the cabin was perfect! It is exactly what you think of when you think of glamping, or cabin stays in Maine. In just four days we created so many memories. The use of the boats made the trip sweeter, but I must say the location is the best part. Because our kids are older they want a little more freedom, like canoeing without mom and dad and this was the perfect place to do it! The cabin is set back in a cove and blocked by a sand bar so not only is it super safe to swim and paddle boat around but, there are also fish that take 'shelter' from the main lake traffic. Personally, I don't fish, but my son and husband do. My husband was able to catch bass right off the dock! Had we have been a little more ambitious we could have had fresh fish for dinner! Even I have to admit that was pretty cool to watch. We also took a look at some of the suggestions Reggie had listed on ABNB. We knew the cabin was 'remote' but was surprised to find that the Shapleigh corner store and Boonie Country store were only a couple of miles away. Two places I must insist you visit if you stay. Shapleigh Corner Store has a restaurant inside that serves such a variety that it satisfied everyone in our family. We were very pleased with the pizza, cheesesteak, and burgers (which were easily a pound of beef) plus they have a wine and beer menu and a bar if you are a childless couple. Boonies has everything you need, or think you need. Fishing equipment (even a fridge full of worms), firewood, gas, beer, groceries, gloves, life jackets, and even office/school supplies! Plus the owner is really sweet and just rescued a 2 yr old black lab named Harley who makes the wait on the credit card machine worth every minute. The bathhouse is disconnected from the cabin BUT there is an outside light and a well-maintaied stone walk. For our 13-year-old girl in the middle of the night, it wasn't an issue at all. We needed some assistance (just with the wifi) while there, and one text to Reggie and our 14-year-old son was happy in minutes. I recommend this place for any family who needs to slow down, and kick back to create some amazing memories together! You can tell this cabin has a charm (and history) you just can't get with any hotel stay, and we are so happy to have found this little slice of peaceful bliss! Thank you Reggie and family - until next time! - The Welch Family

Your bed and bath are on the first floor of our lakefront home on Mousam Lake. An entryway gives you easy access to the deck with relaxing water views and frequent gorgeous sunsets. Shared space includes a den withTV, games, Keurig and futon, as well as well as a laundry room, and a separate room with small refrigerator, microwave and toaster oven. The rooms are largely finished in knotty pine and wallboard. An A/C unit added to the centrally located den.
Two kayaks, a canoe and a paddleboat are available for guest use, along with life vests. Our waterfront is not suitable for swimming, but a good public beach at "the foot of the lake" is at the junction of Routes 109 and 11, which is only two miles from "camp", just across the road from Acton Trading Post. Be careful of in and out traffic in that area. If you are more adventurous, and water levels are at typical summer levels, you may want to take the kayaks out to main lake where you can swim off the sandbar mid-lake outside Hubbard's Cove. Note that there is a window air conditioner centrally located in the den.
13th Street is paved and well maintained. It's a pleasant 1.2 mile walk to the Fairgrounds. The neighborhood is relatively quiet with many year-round residents. Our home surrounded by beautiful tall pine rests on a hillside on a small cove. Hubbards Cove has a short channel leading to Upper Mousam Lake.
  • A beautiful location.

  • A relaxing and scenic location. Beautiful sunsets. Super clean. And lovely hosts!

    David2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This experience was perfect for my partner and me. Carol, Paul, and their beautiful dog, Kenny, are lovely, and their guest apartment is sparkling clean and delightful. The outside decks overlooking Moussam Lake, flowers, grill, and fireplace are all lovely as well. We hope we can return next year!

    Diane2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place to relax and enjoy a fabulous view of the water. The porch is beautiful... in the morning with the breezes off the lake, in the evening with the sunsets and flaming torches (if you wish). Hardly any bugs during out trip. The beds are very comfortable and the place is filled with thoughtful touches. We enjoyed our paddle boat exploration of the peaceful cove and swimming at the uncrowded beach a short drive away with its clear, delightful water. Our hosts were most gracious providing extras like firing up the grill for those of us used to charcoal grills. We plan to return.

    Diana2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • The views cannot be beat. We spent most of the day on the water or by the water. Carol and Paul are very hospitable hosts. We had everything we needed in the kitchenette area and if we needed something, it was readily provided. Will definitely come back.

    Vera2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • A little piece of heaven where you will find everything you need and even more. The hosts are very welcoming and always there for our needs. I highly recommend this place.

  • Carol & Paul are wonderful hosts and really make you feel at home. This is a Beautiful spot directly on a cove on Mousam Lake - ground floor apartment - extremely clean and very comfortable. Great deck with gas grill, kayaks, canoes and tall pines! Kitchen was stocked with plates, bowls and utensils for grilling. Coffee was available, as well as little snacks such as popcorn, kind bars, etc. Highly recommended!!

  • Blueberry Hill was an amazing place! In a very reserved and quiet area, it was the perfect place for my friends and I. About 20-25 minutes to the local food places, we were able to go into the town to grab anything we missed. Tom and Diane’s place was super clean, very cozy and comforting, and they stocked the house with almost every basic necessity. They also stocked it with a bunch of board games and a deck of cards! We were able to use one of the cabins and it was the cutest, little place ever! I would have to say that the only thing that was an issue was the fridge and the freezer—they were not keeping the food cold. But we also didn’t reach out to Tom and Diane because whatever we needed to be cold, we just put it in the freezer which kept it at a pretty good temp. I would say that a group of my friends arrived a little early and I expected when I got there that I would get the tour of the home since I was the one communicating with the host, but Tom gave them the tour instead which bothered me a bit because I wanted to meet him myself. And I really only met Tom for a couple of minutes before he went back home. They also left us blueberry muffins which I thought was super thoughtful! Other than that, the place was a blast! And we look forward to booking Blueberry Hill in the near future.

  • Tom and Diane were perfect hosts. Tom greeted us at check in and was very helpful. They left us homemade muffins and let us remain on the property so we could fish the entire last day. Cool place and perfect for family getaways to enjoy the outdoors.

  • Tom and Diane are excellent hosts, quick response to answer any questions you may have. The space is wonderful! Beds are comfortable, loved having use of a Keurig, very comfortable house and cabins. Loved the blueberry muffins they left for us to enjoy, extra blankets should you need them, overall a very relaxing visit. Hope to be back!

  • Blueberry Hill exceeds expectations and truly makes you feel at home in Maine. This was my group’s first trip to Maine and Tom was so helpful. They have a book stocked with places to go and make themselves available to answer questions and help with anything you may need. We had an amazing time and home we can go back in the near future. None of us wanted to leave!

    Nina2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here. The two lower cabins are really nice, just be prepared to go to the main house for bathroom breaks. In the main house their doing some work in the basement, but it’s very nice. All the basics are there for you! If you’re planning to stay in the loft (two single beds) know that it’s open to the common area of the house. The weather was perfect for us on one of our days and we got out on the canoe and kayaks - beautiful. We would absolutely go back!

Enjoy your tiny home in the trees! Although only 350 square feet, this home has everything you need for a delightful stay. Cook dinner in a full kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, and coffeemaker. You have dinnerware, silverware, water and wine glasses, cookware, and all the essential kitchen accessories. Both the loft and the attached sleeping pod are furnished with queen beds. Enjoy your deck with a grill and a view of the trout pond, and your private hottub.
Waking up in your treehouse, the first thing you feel is peace. No traffic, no sirens, no planes flying overhead. Only birdsong—the cry of a loon, the piping of a chickadee. Through the windows, you see only leaves, like green glass, filtering the early morning light. Below you, on the ground, a doe and her fawn pick their way down to the pond. They do not hurry, for there is nothing here to frighten them. Downstairs in the kitchen, coffee is brewing. Your tablet is charging on the windowsill. You could check your email or social media, but for some reason you don’t want the world to intrude. Out on the deck, a warm mug cradled in your hands, you and your partner plan your morning. Perhaps you’ll paddle the kayak across Littlefield Pond while the mist still lies thick on its smooth surface. Or take a fishing pole down to your private dock to catch brook trout for breakfast. Or maybe just soak in the hot tub and listen to the forest awaken. In the afternoon, you sit by the woodstove, engrossed in that book you’ve always meant to read. Your companions are playing a board game at the table, but mostly laughing and talking—about everything and nothing. You look up from your book and smile. For a moment you think about your life back home and ask yourself, “Why do we own so much stuff? What would our lives be like if we lived more like this, with fewer—but lovelier—things?” It was questions like this that inspired three families—the Avallones from Colorado, the Parekhs from California, and the Valcourts from nearby Portland—to create Littlefield Retreat. More than a vacation experience, Littlefield retreat is an exploration of what sustainable travel—and living in general—might look like. It offers guests an opportunity to live for a few days with a smaller footprint but without sacrificing beauty or comfort. We call it eco-luxury. You can see the exquisite workmanship and attention to detail from the instant you climb the spiral stairs and open the door to your tiny home amidst the trees. The eco-friendly elements are less visible but just as essential to the Littlefield vision: many recycled and reclaimed materials were used in the construction of your treehouse. It is also super-insulated, with ultra-efficient heating and hot water. At present, the energy that powers this tiny home is wind sourced, with plans for summer 2020 to install a 150-panel solar array on the property, making Littlefield retreat’s five boutique tiny homes entirely carbon neutral. Even the carbon from your commute from Portland or Boston has been offset for you. Come experience a wonderful—and sustainable—kind of getaway at Littlefield retreat.

  • We were visiting Maine for a couple of days with our small travel trailer. Eric's place had a huge backyard that had full hookups for an RV, which was perfect for us. Location was central to the places we wanted to visit. Quiet, private area. Great communication. Highly recommend this place!

Sweet Summer Spot located in desirable Carpenter's Cove on Mousam Lake! Incredible waterfront & views! 2 landings, enormous deck, & 2 docks to meet all your boating, fishing, & swimming needs. This is a rustic, cozy cottage with a spacious sleeping loft. Wonderful 3 season porch with rockers. Several steep stairs to water & to loft - may not be appropriate for small children & those not able to climb. Outdoor gas fireplace, kayak, canoe, movies, & board games available for use. The lake awaits!
Our cottage sits on a wonderful part of the lake, called Carpenter's Cove. It is a special and tranquil spot. Enjoy fabulous views of the lake from several of the outdoor areas and from the screened in porch.
Carpenter's cove is a quiet, special place. There is a no wake zone in front of the cottage, so less boat activity than in the larger part of the lake.
  • So nice I had to stay twice!

  • The trip we made to this beautiful cottage was more than we expected. my 3 friends and i spent two lovely nights there, the lights under the dock was an extra touch and made it great for a nice evening swim. it was easy check in & check out, joyce was very helpful with our questions. waking up to that beautiful lake view was to die for! 11/10 recommend!!!

    Maddy2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful spot with an amazing view. The screened in porch was my husband and I's favorite spot. We caught a large mouth bass off the dock and grilled it that night - so bring your poles if you're looking to fish. We loved going out on the lake with the electric motor - very fun. The water is so clear and refreshing. Great spot - would recommend!

    Suzie2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is cozy and laid-back, perfect for a weekend spent enjoying the beautiful view from the screened-in porch and dock. Joyce is a responsive, kind host!

Our home is a lovely colonial built in 1804, nestled in a quiet country setting. It has spacious rooms, many original features and modern amenities. You can enjoy your breakfast and fresh coffee in the common room outside your room or on the comfy sofa in the enclosed porch! When you are ready to go out, we are an easy distance to all that Maine has to offer (20 minutes to beach, 20 mins to Maine Mall area; 30 mins to Portland). We would be so pleased to have you as our guests.
Description: Our Inn offers a rural, peaceful retreat in the small town of Hollis, Maine. However, we are only 20 to 30 minutes away from all of the wonderful options available in the city of Portland. We have owned the home since 2013 and have put a lot of love (and paint) into the home. We are still working on some parts of the home, so not all rooms in the house are accessible to guests. Room: The Gray Room is up one flight of stairs. The room has one queen bed and a cot is available for a third adult upon request. The room is equipped with a mini-fridge for guest use. The main kitchen of the home is not available for guests at this time. The room is equipped with business class WiFi and a smoke detector. We offer laundry services upon request only, for a $5/load fee. The washer and dryer are not located in a public area. There is a spare set of sheets and towels in the room. So as not to disturb our guests, there will not be a daily cleaning of the room, unless an additional cleaning fee ($10) is paid. We do ask that guests not bring visitors into the home without prior approval from the hosts. The maximum occupancy for this room is three adults (two adults and an infant or child = three guests; two adults and a pet = three guests). The room is adjacent to a common area, our library, where there is a Keurig coffeemaker available 24/7. Bathroom: Continuing down the hallway, you will have access to a shared freshly painted and decorated bathroom, which includes double sinks and a shower with a bathtub. There is no fan installed in the bathroom yet due to the age of the home, but it is coming soon. Meanwhile, we have a dehumidifier available. There is a hair dryer for guest use. History: The home is great for fans of history. We have been told that the home was once a safe stop on the Freedom Trail because of the way the chimneys were painted! We even have a photo of the original occupants of the home (see listing pictures). The home is more than 4,000 square feet, so while we are happy to help you while in the area, you will have plenty of privacy. The home sits on one acre of land, surrounded on two sides by woods (the occasional deer or wild turkey comes to visit!) and on a third side by our neighbors' garden and chickens. Nearby: Our home is in an outstanding location in Maine. We live 20 minutes from the Maine Mall area in South Portland. We live 30-35 minutes from downtown Portland/the Old Port area. We love living here because we can drive to the ocean (Pine Point Beach) in 20 minutes, and pay just $10 to park for the day. Old Orchard Beach is 30-35 minutes away from our home also. We are only 15 minutes away from the 95. We are also less than 20 minutes away from Scarborough. We have many conveniences right here in town, including a Hannaford’s (grocery store) within 5 minutes, a Dunkin’ Donuts, a Dollar General, an Aubuchon’s (hardware store), local breakfast spots, a pizzeria, a fresh local produce market, Big Daddy’s ice cream stand, and our personal favorite, A New Leaf Salon & Spa. We also live just one house up from the river, and there is access to a small white sandy island in the middle of the river off of the bridge. We get all the perks of waterfront property, without paying the high summer rates! The Saco River is fantastic. If you go under the bridge, you will eventually end up in a very large lake that is beautiful. Many people float down the river in inner tubes. Above the bridge, there is less traffic, and it is very scenic. We have seen a blue heron, a bald eagle, and even a beaver building a dam! It’s very peaceful and relaxing. Bring your kayak or your inner tube! We are not able to offer canoe rentals at this time for insurance purposes, unfortunately. However, there is also a great kayak rental location in the marshes of Scarborough where you can spend a day. We are right down the street from a newly renovated golf course with a pub opening soon. Arrival: Upon arrival, we are pleased to offer you a welcome with refreshments and treats in your room refrigerator. Breakfast (included): Our breakfast is vegetarian and vegan friendly, and includes fresh locally made baked goods, bagels, fruits, cereal with non-dairy milk options, tea, coffee, and juice. Children: There are no children currently living in the home, so the home has not been properly child-proofed. However, we are happy to welcome them into the home on a case by case basis. Please just contact us for further information. Infants and children do count as guests, and we ask that you kindly include them in your total number of guests. Pets: We love pets, so they are welcome with prior approval, for an additional $10/night fee. We will edit your reservation to include this fee, which you may then accept prior to arrival. If you find it easier, you may choose to count your pet as your third “person” when booking to have the $10/night fee automatically reflected in your total. Pets must be with their parents at all times and remain in specified areas. We ask that pet parents supervise their pets at all times and clean up after their pets in the designated dog walk area. Pets may not be left alone in the home without their parents. We also ask that your pet be leashed at all times when outside of your room, for safety reasons. Out of respect for our neighbors, we ask that dogs who are excessive barkers stay at a nearby pet hotel. We must ask pet owners to take responsibility for any damages caused by pets during their stay with us. We do have two dachshunds on staff named Peanut and Sandy. They are not allowed in guest bedroom/bathroom areas, but currently reside in our daughter's upstairs apartment. You may meet them as you arrive or depart, but they are always under supervision. We also have a cat named Cleo who lives in our apartment and is kept away from any guest areas except the porch, where she can occasionally be found sunbathing. If there is any concern about our pets or their access, please feel free to ask. Safe Zone: We welcome people from all continents, cultures, and lifestyles.
Our Inn offers a rural, peaceful retreat in the small town of Hollis, Maine. However, we are only 20 to 30 minutes away from all of the wonderful options available in the city of Portland. Our home sits between the Saco River to the East, and a golf course (open to the public) to the West, all within a short walk. Although there is some traffic on our road, there are many other trails and roads that will provide a relaxing and scenic walk.
  • Wonderful one night stay. Welcoming host, facilities to make coffee , comfy bed and included delicious breakfast. Couldn't ask for more .

  • Best airbnb I've ever had the pleasure of staying in! Thanks for making our daughter's wedding weekend easier and relaxing by having an awesome place so close to her venue. Keep up the good work.

  • Sandra and Gary’s home is amazing - we couldn’t have asked for anything more and it completely exceeded our expectations, and (unfortunately for future hosts) set the bar really, really high for Airbnb experiences! Sandra and Gary were kind, hospitable and helpful. Their home was clean and well decorated. There is a coffee station easily accessible and complete with everything you could ask for, and snacks and a stocked mini fridge in the bedroom. We were in heaven. They also serve breakfast in the morning. There were more than enough vegan options including dairy-free coffee creamer which left us feeling so spoiled and well taken care of. If you are considering staying here, please do. We will definitely be back!

  • Beautiful home great place to stay and so many wonderful extra touches. Really dog friendly also!!

  • We really enjoyed the wonderful place. The older house is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and there are so many small things to make the stay for the guests nicer. We really enjoyed it.

  • We had a great stay at the River Inn when we attended a wedding, just up the street at the Barn at Flanagan Farm. The River Inn was very clean, conveniently located, a great value, and there were so many thoughtful touches that made our stay extra comfortable, from the sensor lights on the way to the bathroom, to the stocked snack and drink supply in our room.

    Megan2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra and Gary have a huge house, because the other room was vacant that night, we enjoyed the entire second floor alone, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very rich, I don't know how to list them all, thanks to Sandra and Gary for giving us a warm home on our journey.

    Hai2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • The River Inn is a wonderful place to stay! It is well situated for discovering the Portland area, but more importantly, the lovely hosts Sandra and Gary make sure that you'll have not only all you need, but all you could possibly wish for! There even was a delicious breakfast in the morning - a truly perfect stay!

Cozy, peaceful, relaxing and beautiful place to be on the pond.
We have kayaks, paddle board and canoe to tour the pond.
Beautiful downtown Cornish, Seafood restaurant, Bar & Grill & Gourmet. Jewelry store local artist and antique shops.
  • Nice place to get away from it all! Spent a long weekend in winter, and it was awesome. Snowshoeing, XC skiing and plenty of snow on the pond. Very responsive host!

  • This was the most lovely, relaxing vacation we could have hoped for . The space was cozy and had all the touches of a family home that made us feel even more at peace there. We loved waking up and drinking coffee on the porch looking at the pond. Katrina was quick to respond and gave us great recommendations for local places to eat, pick apples, etc. We didn’t realize it was attached to her father’s home but he was very kind and gave us privacy (and also good recs when we did see him). I would be back tomorrow if I could swing it!

  • Katrina is a wonderful host. She very promptly answered all my questions. The house was exactly as described and was very well stocked. Katrina thought of everything! The lake was perfect and my family and I had such a fun time fishing and kayaking. The convenience of the private dock was great! We made lots of wonderful family memories we can look back on for years to come!

  • I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Perfect swimming. Great fishing. The house is adorable. Lots of space and so close to the water, just right across the street and the private dock was perfect. Fires in the fire pit, morning coffee on the outside porch cozy couch area. Just perfect. We are sure to be back and again, I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Wishing you all the best in these remarkable times. We look forward to the time when we can welcome guests again. At this time we will not be taking any reservations till at least September. Camp site! Bring your own tent! Unique, simple, and convenient on the Saco River. The roar of the rapids in the spring and early summer will lull you into a peaceful sleep and the rooster will wake you early! This is close enough to Portland to enjoy quick trips to the city.
This is a simple campsite on the Saco River. The view is lovely. This is a rustic camp not appropriate for elderly or very young. It is a working hobby farm. Our gentle goats had 5 kids this spring! They may come visit you at your campsite! There is a fantastic swimming hole in the summer months! There is a porta potty for your use up by the house and you may use the summer kitchen to heat up soup on those cold rainy days! There is a small fridge in there you may use. There is a fire pit down at the campsite. You can pick up a lot of kindling down around the river and in the woods next to the campsite. Bags of Hardwood campwood are 6 dollars. Please pack out your trash. Leave no trace as best as you can ! https://lnt.org This site is just off Route 25 with easy access to Portland. You can hear traffic from the road when the river is at its summer low. Wifi available. Please bring your own helmets if you wish to ride the bikes. Gear is available for the white water kayaks. Please note that you should be well acquainted with white water paddling to use them at the campsite. If not you will need to bring them to the rest area on route 25 at bottom of the rapids where there is some beautiful flatwater to paddle. Smoke Island Arts Studio holds workshops on premises during the spring summer and fall. Fees for participation in the workshops are found on the website. The studio is available for hourly, daily or weekly rental with separate firing fees for experienced potters. Beginner lessons are also available. I am present in the home. There may be students from wwoofusa org program on the property also. There is easy access from route 25. The Saco river is a fantastic place for whitewater enthusiasts and flat water canoeing or kayaking. Lake Sebago is about 20 min away and boasts a lovely state park, boating fishing and swimming. It is about 45 min to Fort Williams Park, Portland Headlight, Two Lights State Park in Cape Elizabeth and many other Maine coast attractions. A drive of 45 min will bring you to North Conway and the White Mountains. It is 35 min from Shawnee Peak Ski Area in Bridgton Maine and 40 min from King Pine Ski Area in Madison, NH. Check My Guidebook for more info. No public transport in the area. Must have a car. Please remember that this is a working hobby farm. For safety please wear shoes on the property and due to the chickens in the yard please take shoes off before entering the summer kitchen!
A rural area, simple homes. It is off Route 25 so there is traffic noise if the river is low There is a potential of noise from the neighbors across the road.

  • Beautiful Place - Beautiful Host

    April2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Unbelievable views that you can’t get from many tourist campgrounds. If you’re an animal lover like us, there are a few penned goats and chickens on the property and a very friendly cat that hung out with us throughout the day. There is only one spot suitable for a small or medium sized tent, which was fine for us. It was a bit late in the season so the trees didn’t offer as much privacy or noise reduction as they would during the summer, but you still can’t see it well from the road it was much more private than your traditional campground. The distant highway noise and occasional passing car didn’t bother us at all either. We had a very nice time and can’t wait to come back!

    Kurt2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda's campsite in her backyard was incredible!! Her baby goats came right down to say hello to us, it was a wonderful experience. We got up early enough to enjoy the sun rise over the Limington Rapids. The swiming pool on the rapids was wonder to swim in, as well. We wound book again!!

    Amy Beth2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Nice camping spot, exactly as described. Brenda was a clear communicator and check-in was simple. Easy drive into Portland, as well.

  • My stay at Brenda's was great. It's exactly as described, a little place to pitch a tent right next to the river. There's a beautiful little swimming hole to take a dip. Brenda was easy to communicate with and very hospitable.

  • I would give Brenda 6 stars if I could! We will definitely be back, hopefully by this end of the summer! :) Thank you for sharing your beautiful property. Animals lovers must stay here it’s simply a wonderful, unique “camping” experience unlike no other!

Post & Beam Cottage, rustic knotty pine interior. Five miles to Gorham Center close to USM, 20 minutes to St. Josephs College on Sebago Lake, easy 30 minute drive to Portland, 12 miles to the PWM Jetport. Centrally located to many of Maine's finest breweries: Sebago Brewing, Mast Landing, Funky Bow, Nonsuch, Sea Dog, Barrel Souls, Bissell Brothers. Many local hiking trails including trails right here at our farm. Portland boasts of the finest restaurants in the state.
We purchased a special 110 acre parcel of land located in the quaint and quiet town of Buxton, Maine which we make a living on and call home. We have worked very hard to restore the 1815 farmhouse, perennial beds, the growing fields, and the walking path along the Little River. The land has responded back by producing acres of beautiful and bountiful summer cutting flowers, sweet, juicy, and early organic blue berries, and nutritious organic vegetables. The farm has established itself as a frequent stop for travelers near and far so we invite you to share with us this plot of land we call “heaven”
    Quiet village, Rural farm land.
  • Perfect for a long weekend getaway! Nancy and Bruce were quick to offer help when needed (and snow shoes!!) but we felt like we were the only people for miles otherwise. The house itself is tiny which was just right for two people from out of towns. Nancy showed us the greenhouse and chickens in the last day which was such a treat. All in all I would highly recommend.

    Laura2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at the Little River Flower Farm, and we really can’t recommend this place enough. Nancy and Bruce are wonderful hosts, and the cabin itself is cozy and clean. Nancy even lent us her snowshoes so we could explore the property! We will definitely be back.

  • We really enjoyed our stay on the farm. It’s a great little cottage in a nice quiet area. Nancy was really friendly and helpful with local tips!

  • The cabin at the Little River flower farm is a quaint, rustic feeling cabin set in a beautiful working farm! The hosts are terrific and Nancy gave us several great recommendations for the area! We would definitely book the cabin again if we come back to this area!

    Steve2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at the Little River Flower Farm. The hosts Nancy and her husband Bruce were very kind and welcoming and provided us with a great experience from initial communication to welcoming us for check-in, providing us with great local tips and showing us around their beautiful farm. The cottage is absolutely lovely, sparkling clean, beautifully decorated and has everything one could need for a comfortable stay. We loved the personal touches and naturally themed decor. The kitchen is stocked with all the utensils and dishes and anything you might need to cook a great meal including oven, stove and microwave. There is heating and cooling and we loved the shower head with great flow for a nice hot shower. The Airbnb cottage is surrounded by beautiful flowers and an herb garden but is a stand-alone within distance to the farmhouse and grow houses to there's lots of privacy. The location is out in the beautiful countryside with many outdoor activities available and still close enough to Portland for a visit or a night out in town before going back to sleep in the cozy cottage surrounded by serenity. We highly recommend this beautiful Airbnb! Thank you Nancy and Bruce for a great experience!

    Eliane2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage farm stay was everything we wanted! A cute, tiny-house feel on a quiet farm filled with beauty. Free-range Chickens are your neighbors, other livestock to view, tons of nature, flowers, ponds, woods and a gorgeous sunset view all on the property. We loved that we barely heard any cars. The cottage is new, clean and cozy- very well made by Nancy and Bruce, who were also very helpful and friendly hosts. It's a great location to tons of things within 30 minutes drive and the neighborhood is breathtaking (rolling hills!). If you're looking to get away from the city, this is your spot.

    Gina2019-09-30T00:00:00Z

Surround yourself in the comfy confines of two travelers - we like to make sure our place feels like home when we come back so we can settle right in while surrounding ourselves with pictures of our recent adventures. We live simply, but enjoy nice things and coming home to a quiet neighborhood on a large piece of land. Our location is 5 minutes to Sebago Lake, 15 minutes from Windham and 30 minutes from the Old Port.
The home will be stocked with coffee, condiments, soaps, shampoos and fresh towels. You will have access to all cook wear, w/d, wifi, backyard, fire place and kayaks.
Our duplex is 5 minutes away from the popular Sebago Lake, where you can launch the kayaks and enjoy one of Maine's largest lakes. Also down the street is your local grocery market, Two Black Dogs Country Pub, Papa's Ice Cream & Aroma Joe's Coffee.
  • Amato's house was great and cozy. The area is pretty quiet overall (despite some people driving a bit fast and loud on the street from time to time), the view in the backyard is very nice. Big open backyard, with the chicken coop and big trees. The house was filled with pretty much everything. It's well indicated in the description, but there's no microwave, but this is not a dealbreaker. The beds were comfy, our young daughter slept very well. The rooms were quite dark, which is amazing. Amato was really fast to reply to our questions, communication was great. Great instructions, easy check in, quiet neighbour. Truly, we didn't missed anything really. The area is nice, the grocery store is 2 minutes away and driving to Portland, OOB and all is a breeze. Thanks for the time in the area!

  • Expect a place that is warm, charming, beautiful, peaceful, and all around amazing.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Amato’s place. The house was clean and very comfortable. Amato is a very responsive host.

    Rebecca2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very clean and easy to get into. My friends and I loved seeing the chickens and getting some eggs from them! The location was great, not too far from Portland and in a quiet neighborhood that was perfect for relaxing at night. Overall we had a wonderful stay!

    Sophia2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this house was spectacular! It looked exactly like the pictures. It was very clean and it had just about everything you could imagine. The fresh eggs from the chicken coop were incredibly delicious. What a nice feature for the guests. The only thing that made me laugh a little was the drawer that provided microwave popcorn, but there was no microwave in the house. Haha! But I just dumped the kernels in the stove-top popcorn maker and it turned out beautifully! It was a very comfortable house to stay in and I would most definitely stay in this house again! In fact, I plan to on my next trip to Maine, whenever that may be. Oh! And the kayaks were awesome on Kiwanis Beach! Thanks so much for providing such a lovely home! You get 5 stars from me!

    Megan2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amato’s place is amazing’. Perfect combination of modern and rustic decor! It was great to have the quiet of rural Maine with a short drive to Portland! My granddaughter really enjoyed the chickens and gathering eggs! I highly recommend this as a place to stay and I would definitely stay here again!!

    Bobbi2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying here. Standish is a small town with a lot of character. 30 mins from lots to do! The chicken coop was the highlight of our stay!!

    Emily2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was lovely at Amato's place. The place is a little out of the way but great for escaping the city. We ended up using the fire pit and enjoying the fresh eggs from the chickens right outside. The place is very close to beautiful Sebago Lake and also near a bike trail which we ended up using and enjoying very much. The house is very clean and organized and had everything we needed for our short stay. Thank you!

Both rustic and elegant, the Birch Ledge Guest House offers a cozy place to relax and recharge, whatever the season. The first floor features a spacious living room (with queen sized pull-out-couch), dining area, and small kitchen. The bathroom has a walk-in shower. The second floor is a loft accessible by a spiral staircase and has a comfy queen and two twin sized beds. The guesthouse is surrounded by quiet forest and is an easy 30 minute drive to Portland.
Sari and Saul Lindauer, both retired science teachers, live on the property in a separate home, and have been building and improving upon this guest house for the past 19 years. The Lindauers welcome guests to Birch Ledge as a way to share the beauty of their homestead with others.
Wooded area with friendly and quiet neighbors. We have a 300 foot driveway on a loop road which offers privacy from traffic and out of view from our nearest neighbors. We also have access to miles of hiking and skiing trails which do not allow motorized vehicles.
  • Sari and Saul’s guesthouse was a welcome peaceful oasis! We only wish we could have visited longer.

    Katherine2020-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying at Sari's place. It was very clean and looks much better in person although the pictures were already pretty great themselves. We had a good time getting away from the city, visiting Sari's chickens, and also got to enjoy some fresh sap and maple syrup. Thanks for the great stay!

    Vicky2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Sari's guest house could not have been more magical! Sari was a superb host. She and Saul went above and beyond the call of duty. They were able to accommodate us a day early when a severe weather warning affected our travel plans and communicating and problem solving that could not have been easier. The second we stepped on the property we felt right at home. The guest house is the perfect combination of secluded, so you can really feel like you're escaping, but good wifi and cell service made it easy to feel connected if we needed to. A really well stocked kitchen, plenty of room for hanging out and for sleeping, and tons of privacy made this an ideal retreat for a Wintery getaway. Between our three nights at the guest house we had over a foot of snow, but Saul and Sari were so on top of it, at no point did we feel trapped or snowed in - they were so speedy with communicating with us and making sure our car could get out. The cherry on top of it all, was being invited to take part in their annual evergreen spiral tradition on NYE. Such a lovely surprise and it made our stay all the more special. We hope to be back soon!

  • We loved our quick stay here, and hope to come back again soon.

    Mallory2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding location and quick responses. Incredible time, the hosts were extremely helpful but at the same time we have plenty of privacy! We will definitely be back to enjoy anotherstay

    Nick2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • This getaway spot is a true gem. It is cozy, clean and comfortable in a beautiful setting. The thoughtful touches from the owner/host are what makes this place truly amazing. From the fresh eggs, milk, bread, and handmade lobster chocolates to many other thoughtful touches this is a very special place to stay. Thank you for making our getaway and my sisters birthday truly a special one. We will be back and may just make this our yearly Christmas tradition!!

    Ellen2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place and thoughtful gestures of hospitality.

    Sun2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Sari's place was better than expected. If you're a couple looking for a quiet place to get off the grid then look no further. If you need to get back on the grid, then Portland is only 40 minutes away. Place is beautiful and immaculate. Sari is a tremendous host with prompt communication. I will be back!!!! Thanks again Sari, Steve

Our home is a lovely colonial built in 1804, nestled in a quiet country setting. It has spacious rooms, many original features and modern amenities. You can enjoy your breakfast and coffee in the common area, or in the enclosed porch! When you are ready to go out, we are an easy distance to all that Maine has to offer (20 minutes to a beach, Maine Mall area; Portland--voted 2018 Restaurant City of the Year in Bon Appetit Magazine!). We would be so pleased to share our love for Maine with you.
The Space Description: Our Inn offers a rural, peaceful retreat in the small town of Hollis, Maine. However, we are only 20 to 30 minutes away from all of the wonderful options available in the city of Portland. We have owned the home since 2013 and have put a lot of love (and paint) into the home. We are still working on some parts of the home, so not all rooms in the house are accessible to guests. Room: The Blue Room is up one flight of stairs. The room is down the hall from a common area, where a coffee bar will be available each morning. Bathroom: Continuing down the hallway, you will have access to a shared, freshly painted bathroom, which includes double sinks and a shower with a bathtub. We have many conveniences right here in town, including a Hannaford’s within 5 minutes, a Dunkin’ Donuts, a Dollar General, an Aubuchon’s, local breakfast spots, a pizzeria, a fresh local produce market, Big Daddy’s ice cream stand, and our personal favorite, A New Leaf Salon & Spa. We are right down the street from a newly renovated golf course with a pub open to the public. Arrival: Upon arrival, we are pleased to offer you a quick tour and refreshments in your room. Breakfast (included): Our breakfast is vegetarian and vegan friendly, and includes fresh baked goods, bagels or english muffins, fruit, cereal with non-dairy milk options, tea, coffee, and juice. Please let us know if you have a dietary preference. We have two dachshunds on staff named Peanut and Sandy. They live with our daughter in her upstairs apartment but have no access to any guest rooms or baths. They can occasionally be seen and introduced upon arrival or departure, but are always kept under supervision. We also have a cat named Cleo, who resides in our apartment downstairs. She is not allowed in any guest areas, except the porch occasionally where she loves to sunbathe. If you have any concerns or questions about any of our pets, please let us know. Safe Zone: We welcome people from all continents, cultures, and lifestyles
  • Sandra and Gary’s place is incredibly nice, and very true to Maine character. They are very thoughtful in the touches they added and are very accommodating, not to mention their incredible hospitality. This place won’t dissapoint!

    Casey2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing time! The space is so nice and exceeded all of our expectations. Gary’s recommendations were spot on and we were so comfortable and well looked after. Would absolutely stay again and recommend to anyone within 30 miles of Portland!

  • Wonderful stay! One of best Air Bnbs we have stayed at. Thoughtful touches. 30 mins from Portland. Gary was lovely!

    Melissa2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We were in Maine to attend a wedding and rather fortuitously chanced upon Sandra and Gary's place. Sandra and Gary are great hosts and run an impeccable operation in their beautiful farmhouse. We were traveling with an infant and they went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable.

    Abhilash2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Simply one of the best Airbnb we have been able to do so far. Sandra and Gary are lovely people. The house is a cozy nest. In short ... We recommend without a doubt!

  • A wonderful find, and a great deal! An overnight stay to visit friends turned into a mini vacation by Sandra and Gary's warm hospitality and many thoughtful touches in the room. Would definitely stay here again!

    Gary2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful time at Sandra and Gary's! My stay with them reminded me why I use Airbnb instead of hotels. Their house is lovely and they thought of all the little details. I had a great time chatting with them, and they made me feel at home. I'd definitely recommend staying here!

    Rachel2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED our stay here! So so friendly and warm ! We even got a sweet little welcome gift and the bedroom was so cozy and even has an AC which came in handy in the heat! The bathroom was shared but very spacious and had soaps and towels at the ready! Breakfast was a nice touch too. Gary even got up early with us to get us sorted with breakfast before we left. Will stay again and HIGHLY recommend!!

Modern and spacious home located in a rural area of southern Maine. With a private deck and hot tub, short walk to a waterfront with canoes/kayaks/fishing in the summer, and xc skiing/snowshoeing/ and snowmobiling right from the front door in the winter, this is a great year round destination! With a modern. fully equipped kitchen connecting to an open floor plan living and dining room, lots of windows to the wooded outside it's a relaxing and easy place to spend time!
The house is located 1/2 mile down a well maintained dirt road on a wooded lot with very few neighbors. Less than a five minute walk leads to a waterfront lot shared with several other neighbors. Canoes, kaykaks paddle boats and dockage are available in the summer. Long Pond is also well known for bass fishing in the summer as well as being stocked with trout. In the winter you'll see ice fisherman in the pond. Also located nearby is a sandy public beach perfect for children! The hot tub on the deck is open year round (nothing is better than a day of skiing then a private hot tub on the deck in the snow after!) In the summer, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing and hiking are the name of the game. In the winter skiing, snowmobile trails, and snowshoeing are all readily accessible!
Parsonsfield Maine is a rural town located just a few minutes from the New Hampshire border. hiking, fishing, down hill and XC skiing, snowmobiling and fishing are all nearby. Being only an hour form the Portland Maine, or an hour to Conway New Hampshire you can take day trips to both the mountains and the shore!
  • My five star rating Is for more reasons than I can say so I’ll name quite a few... Eric is an extremely thoughtful and attentive host. You could see this first hand at his thoughtfully stocked and decorated rental or secondhand through direct communications with him. The house had everything you could possibly need including an awesome hot tub with strong jets. We did a lot of grilling there on his brand new grill and highly appreciated a full spacious kitchen with more than enough options for pans, cups, plates, utensils. This rental had every small appliance we could’ve asked for (we put the waffle maker and blender to good use!). I’m in love with the house. The layout was beautifully designed as an open concept two story wood frame with 3 bathrooms, 2 of which each have a full shower with a total of 4 toilets combined which can all be used at once potentially, huge props on the architect/contractor who did the upstairs bathroom. Upstairs has spotless white carpeting. This house is filled with solid finish work and thoughtful design. The downstairs common area/living room has a wall sized bay window across from a four door/French door deck entrance to the jacuzzi boasting loads of natural light and Beautiful partially obstructed lake views. The lake is a decent walk down the hill and worth cruising over to, I was dying to kayak the lake but I came during the wrong season as it was still mostly frozen. The house has more beds and places to sleep than you would probably ever need. Huge driveway with endless parking/ full clean garage loaded with summer toys for the lake! The best part about this rental is the peace and quiet. The neighborhood is loosely populated with a private road, having gone in Late March, it felt like we were the only people in the state. The nighttime hot tub soaks under the stars with pina coladas didn’t get old and I already miss it. The value was extraordinary for the time we spent there and I don’t have a single thing I’d improve from the booking to locking the place up when We left. Thanks for an awesome stay Eric! Hope this review helps someone jump on this place when they have a chance to!

  • Very nice place to get away and enjoy. Very clean . Awesome communication!

    Kat2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had an awesome time at Eric's place! House is super clean, huge, comfortable, fully equipped kitchen, and the hot tub was amazing. Eric was very helpful throughout the process and the house instructions were perfect. Fantastic getaway!

    Len2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very spacious and extremely clean. The notes Eric provided both up front and in home were so detailed. There were lots of suggestions of local restaurants and things to do! The house was beautiful and quite large (multiple bathrooms). The hot tub is definitely an added bonus! Due to the snow we didn’t explore as much as we wanted but we would definitely come again in nicer weather to explore everything the area has to offer. We had a great lunch at Krista’s (Eric’s suggestion). It was the perfect winter getaway! Eric was wonderful to work with. He was extremely responsive and attentive! He made check in and out so easy!

    Marybeth2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Eric’s place was amazing! The photos do not do the beauty of rural Maine and Eric place justice, especially in the middle of winter. Walking on frozen lakes was a new novelty for us! All amenities were amazing and the house and directions were very easy to follow. Eric was very fast to respond and was very helpful with any issues that arouse. I would highly recommend Eric’s place for both a quiet getaway and a family vacation.

    Kellie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay very secluded but well worth it! Highly recommend this place for any that want a good getaway!

    Shamus2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • The place is clean, neat, there us everything for relaxation, all details are provided. Highly recommend this wonderful place!

    Pavel2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Eric was a fantastic host and we had a great time in his home. The place was exactly what we were looking for; a nice, quiet secluded home by the lake. He was extremely responsive to all of our messages, and we would happily come back again in the future.

Just a few steps from the charming village of Cornish, this newly remodeled 1800's home is comfortable, clean and welcoming. I live here with my small dogs and we love to have company come and stay! We are right on the Ossipee River and if you love to kayak, tube or just frolick in the water, this house is perfect! Our village offers exceptional antiques stores, a fantastic toy store and Krista's, the best restaurant for miles!!
The space is comfortable, clean and friendly, I love hosting and spoiling my guests. I will provide lite snacks, European style breakfast consisting of fresh baked goods, fruit and other yummy bits. Please let me know if you have any specific needs, happy to provide if I can.
Quaint village with great shops and restaurants totally walkable from my home. Friendly people and close to Portland, North Conway, skiing, lakes and more!!
  • Karen’s place was quiet cool, cozy and comfortable. All the 3 puppies are quiet friendly. House is walkable to nearby restaurants like Krista’s etc. Google maps doesn’t direct anyone to the desired address. Try to use Apple Maps which will direct directly to Karen’s beautiful abode. Breakfast was good with enough selections.

    Sunny2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • At Karen's house, you will be warmly welcomed into a marvelously renovated house. The bedroom is comfortable and the bathroom is quite remarkable! And breakfast, unusual for an Airbnb, will be delicious. Karen is an outstanding host.

    Katharine2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location, walking distance to downtown Cornish shops and restaurants! The house is warm, comfortable, quiet and beautifully renovated while keeping the historic charm. Karen's dogs were cute and friendly and made me feel very welcome. The bathroom was super clean and I enjoyed a relaxing bath in the clawfoot tub. Plenty of soft pillows, a cozy comforter, and a white noise machine made for a great night's sleep. Karen herself was warm and welcoming and so accomodating. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
