Places to stay in L'Anse
Beautiful year round beach house. This tiny house is located on Second Sand Beach. Guests will enjoy an all sand beach on Lake Superior. It is 8 miles from the town of L’Anse, and a 40 minute drive to Houghton. Cross country ski trails, snowmobile trails, hiking trails, and ORV trails are minutes away. Participate in the many summer and winter fishing tournaments in the area or relax and unwind on the private beach. A boat launch area is a short walk down the beach.
  • Loved our stay here! The beach house was very clean, and had beautiful views!!! The house had everything we needed for our weekend stay, Gloria responded very quickly with every question we had and was so helpful! The house was pretty easy to find thanks to Gloria’s directions and we absolutely loved their dogs ❤️ The bathroom and heated floors were amazing. Will defiantly be back in the future!

  • The tiny beach house was a perfect little get away! Such an amazing view!

  • Very clean and cozy. The views are lovely. The description and photos are accurate. It served our purposes well. You’re in a very historic area and it was fun to explore♥️

  • Loved our stay at the tiny house! It has everything you could need for a getaway. We had a fire on the beach, the sunrise was amazing, the fall colors were breathtaking. Had some great margaritas at Skippers (local bar in L’Anse) and took a day drive up to Copper harbor - HIGHLY recommend going to Fitzgerald’s in Eagle River - might have been the best meal I’ve ever had (probably want to make a reservation though). Their puppers were funny and entertaining. Our stay was absolutely magical. This space and location was perfect for us and I can’t wait to visit again!

  • We had no idea going in, what to expect out of our week spent at the tiny house. Even with that said, it far surpassed anything we could have imagined. It was an amazing week. The weather wasn't the best, but that's Lake Superior in mid-October for you. We greatly overpacked, as the tiny house had most everything you could possibly need. The sunrises in the morning were spectacular. The waves at night with the windows open, lulled us to sleep. We had a couple great nights by our fire on the beach and watching the moon come up. Such a very special week, surrounded by the beautiful Lake. Gloria and Gary were amazing hosts. Very quick responses to any and all questions. Even though their house is right behind the tiny house, it felt totally private. We got to meet and pet their dogs, which helped us get our animal fix in for the week, as we missed ours. Gloria worked with us on a little later checkout as we didn't want to leave, we loved it so much! A word to future guests, that the pictures are accurate. It is a tiny house. Approximately 10' x 20' You will be cozy, but for a couple looking to spend some quality time it was perfect. We can't thank Gloria and Gary enough, and will come back anytime as long as they will have us.

  • Very cute, clean, and cozy. Has everything you might need for your stay.

    Lori2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Beach House was exactly what we were hoping for!!! It was quiet and secluded with a beautiful view of Lake Superior. The house is very well appointed with cooking utensils, pots and pans, wine glasses, beer glasses, water glasses- you name it. Yes, it’s a small space, but for two people who wanted to spend a cozy week together, it was just perfect, and the space is well used so everything is functional- I just adored the bathroom! Cannot say enough nice things about this place, or about Gloria and Gary, the hosts, both of whom were terrific. If you’re a dog person, ask to meet their dogs- they are fun and sweet as can be!

  • Our stay here was great! It was a perfect getaway and being able to have a campfire on the beach was amazing! We plan on returning in the near future.

  • This is a lovely place to stay! We really enjoyed the porch and yard spaces. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals and it is convenient to the main street and the lake front. I highly recommend.

    Peggy2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house is as described, beautifully furnished with Victorian antiques on the ground floor, a bit more casual on the second. The kitchen was the best-appointed airbnb kitchen we have experienced. Therese, the on-site manager, was graciousness itself and provided suggestions for local excursions--and cookies! While not close to any, we used L'Anse as a jumping-off site for day trips to Picture Rocks, Copper Harbor, and the Porcupine Mountains.

  • Lynn's home is well-appointed and nestled outside of town. She was very accommodating with my schedule. Even though this is her home, I had lots of privacy.

    Michelle2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and beautiful views and amazing little town!!

    Lena2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place to rest your head. We were only there long enough to sleep. Bed was a little noisy but comfortable. Loved the old furniture.

    Evelyn2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We were upgraded and the place we stayed was absolutely charming. It had a cottage feel and was decorated super cute!. Very clean, new shower, comfy bed!

    Lesley2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • I would recommend Lynna's Lodging. Beautiful surroundings, very comfortable, clean rooms.

    Pam2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, cozy & comfortable bedding and amenities. Lynn was very welcoming and loved the balcony!

  • Great experience.

    Bill2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We were traveling through l'Anse and needed only a place to stay for the night. We got much more. Not only was the house and our room immaculate, Lynn upgraded us to the Paris room. The four poster king was comfortable and a real treat. The rest of the decoration for our room was perfect - everything we needed. And still, that was not everything. Walking into the mansion, we encountered the unexpected. The house is filled with the most amazing furniture - Asian and Western - most eclectic - pretty much a museum experience! Our only regret was that we arrived late and left early and did not have a chance to meet Lynn in person. Nonetheless, thanks Lynn for a great night and an experience we will remember for a long time.

A Fun Finnish Farm that has been here since 1895 that started with the sauna...that is still standing and working! With many renovations and upgrades the property has grown over the years to what you will see when you get here!
Authentic Finnish Sauna, Pond, Barn, Gazebo, Chicken Coop, Woodshed, and Field.
The area I live in is unique because of the wildlife, open fields, and welcoming people.
  • Edsel is a sweet and hospitable host. He stayed late in the night just to welcome me. The location gets pitch dark at night and might be scary if you drive down in the night like I did😬 so get there early. All in all it was lovely staying with him. He made some lovely Finnish breakfast in the morning :)

    Maneesha2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Edsel is a wonderful host, waking us on our first morning with a wonderful Finnish breakfast. Truly a delight to speak with. We will be back :)

    Kieran2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The location is away from all the stress. Edsel was a good host and he can make great breakfast.

    Yaswanth2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • I strongly recommend if you enjoy being in nature. The place is isolated, away from city life. In the morning the absolute silence was amazing. The host loves to do farming, so if you love being in nature, this is the place for you. Edsel was a great host.

    Bikramaditya2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to visit for a quiet time in the country with wonderful amenities; home cooked meals, farm animals and a traditional Finnish Sauna.

    Susan2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Edsel was the most hospitable and welcoming host I have seen yet!! His accommodations were warm and welcoming and we really appreciated the use of the sauna after a long day on the road. 🙂. He made us two terrific meals and even took time in the morning to give a cooking lesson of a traditional Finnish breakfast. We will definitely be back to visit again!!

    Alan2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic Finnish experience in the UP. Thoughtfully planned out. Be sure to make use of the sauna while there. And get a view of the replica Model A before taking off. 20X better than getting a hotel room at the least.

    Quinn2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a home away from home! Hospitality Plus home Comforts Plus meals including supper and a superb Finnish breakfast! So worth the effort of going a little bit off the beaten path. A good old-fashioned home fired sauna was such a treat at the end of a long ride.

Quiet attic space with bedroom and private living room/office area- like a tiny apartment- in a historic home with original details. Use the sauna after skiing at Bohemia all day, have a beer at Keweenaw Brewing Company, and easily visit your friends at Michigan Tech! **COVID-19 precautions: Because we have a large college, a VA clinic, and a regional hospital in the area, I have decided to remain open while taking some precautions. Details are elsewhere in this listing.**
COVID-19 precautions: Because we have a large college, a VA clinic, and a regional hospital in the area, I have decided to remain open while taking some precautions: -There are no shared spaces for this listing. In the past, this listing offered access to my kitchen and living room, but I have suspended that for now. -I am using a four day buffer between guests -All linens are bleached, not just laundered -All surfaces will be wiped down with paper towels and a spray cleaner that effective against viruses (a towel and cleaning spray in the room for the use of guests, should they want to wipe down any surface) -I am supplying large garbage bags and asking all guests to bag their bed linens and towels for me when they leave. (Thanks for your cooperation.)
The neighborhood is in the "sweet spot"- a 5-min walk from Michigan Tech, 5-min the other way to a local cafe, less than a minute to the local grocery store! We're a 10 minute walk to our beautiful downtown, with local breweries, shops, and restaurants. You can see the local ski hill from my driveway! A 10 minute drive to Mount Bohemia and the Houghton Airport.
  • Great little spot. Lots of light in the bedroom and sitting area. Very close to downtown and lakeshore. We didn’t use the fireplace in the back but it looks lovely!

  • Jennifer’s place was like a paradise after a day’s worth of traveling and some unforeseen changes in our original travel plan. We were able to get in touch with her almost immediately to confirm a last minute booking, which was amazing! Jennifer and her cat, Abby, are incredibly hospitable. The room was clean and cozy, and had all of the amenities we needed. We throughly enjoyed our stay!

High-end glamping in the Keweenaw Peninsula. This tiny house/cabin features two lofts with queen-sized beds, a wood burning fireplace, dock with paddle boat on two acre pond, access to the Pike River and 20 acres of land for hiking and recreation. Cook in the kitchen or over the outdoor fire pit. Enjoy a wood-fired sauna and cool off with a dip in the pond. Bring a fishing rod and catch dinner out of the pond or the river! No running water but indoor composting toilet and a rain barrel/sink.
There is no running water at the camp. There is a rain barrel and outdoor sink for dishes, hand washing, and rinsing off. There is a composting toilet in the cabin with specific directions for use.
The camp seems off-the-grid, but it is located just 12 minutes driving from Michigan Tech University, the town of Houghton, abundant restaurants, shopping, and things to do -- but most importantly, the gateway to the Keweenaw!
  • Had an amazing time at little cabin. Luke is really super host! We did so much in 3 full days. Best hiking trails and gorges Lake Superior. Cabin is very tiny but has everything you need. Hope to come back soon.

    Audra2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place and location! The host, Luke, was very easy to communicate with. Being minutes from town but still having the peace and seclusion of the outdoors was perfect. Our dog loved the pond and the path back to the river. Will be booking next time we head up this way.

  • Super lovely! Perfect for a couples getaway

    Nolan2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful tiny home by a beautiful pond on a beautiful piece of property. Luke had the woodpile stocked for us and the house had plenty of amenities for cooking and comfort. Highly recommended!

    Ben2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We found Luke’s place when all the hotels were booked up in Houghton. We were nervous about staying in a place with a compost toilet and no running water, but thought we’d be adventurous and give it a try. So glad we did! The place is so cool from it's unique design and high-quality construction to the beautiful pond and property. We quickly acclimated to the compost toilet which was easy to use. Same with the wood burning stove/heater which quickly warmed up the place. As for showering, I ended up getting a day pass to work out at the MTU Student Development Center so problem solved! Luke was an EXCELLENT host who checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed. Really appreciated that the place was heated and the lights were on when we first arrived in the late evening. Luke also made sure to install a part to the sauna before our stay which we unfortunately didn’t end up using (next time!). He had great suggestions for what to do and even connected us with his friend at the A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum at MTU (a must see!) when we asked about agate hunting tips. We would happily glamp again at this cute, clean, and cozy place!

  • Luke's Airbnb is one of the most unique and cool places I've ever gotten to stay. The tiny home was really cozy, the outdoor firepit was great, and the paddle boat on the pond was a lot of fun. I highly recommend checking this place out. Looking forward to my next visit.

Great view of Lake Superior's Keweenaw bay
  • Michael and Darlene were excellent hosts. It was my first Airbnb experience so I was kind of nervous not knowing what to expect. I immediately felt comfortable upon arriving. They were very friendly, accommodating, and helpful with tips for things to do while in town. I had plenty of privacy (entire basement to myself) and all of the essentials were provided. The bed is super comfy and I loved seeing the bay from the back door. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a UP getaway!

    Kate2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Michael and Darlene's home was wonderfully comfortable. They truly thought of everything you'd need while away from home! The bed was super cozy and they even set up two (again, super comfortable) cots for my kids to sleep on. I would highly recommend their beautiful home in L'Anse!

  • The most wonderful hosts, in a most wonderful home, in a wonderful location, with a fantastic view and beautiful sunsets. Mike and Darlene thought of everything. We absolutely would stay here again. We were very happy!

  • Perfect spot to stay while we visiting our son at MTU. The cottage has a beautiful interior, comfy beds, and all the kitchen amenities we needed to make breakfast and lunch. Very close to downtown Houghton and the perfect launch point for our Keweenaw adventures.

  • JoLynn's place worked out perfectly for me, my husband and son to say while in town for our youngest sons MTU commencements. We stayed in cabin #2 for 4 nights. I am very picky about places I stay so was relieved to see how clean and cozy the place was. It also has all the amenities you would need. JoLynn was timely with the information required for check in and check out and quickly available for any questions we may have. I would definitely recommend this cabin.

Bungalow apartment with access to the lake. Swimming, large yard, trampoline, kayaks and basketball hoop available.
  • This is a very clean and tidy house. The owner prepares a lot of coffee and water to provide guests. The 3 beds are very suitable for families. The house is located close to the lake and the living environment is very quiet. If the wifi is smooth, it will be better. The host introduces his own family, introduces the surrounding public areas, a good family, and wishes them a happy family.

    2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We would go there again. Nice.

    Brian2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Truly a GREAT space in a GREAT location!! The fall colors were so beautiful for our stay, which made our time even better. The hospitality of the hosts is top notch and they always made sure we knew they are available to us, should we need anything. Communication prior to and during our stay was exceptional, complete with ideas of what to do and where to go for food. The bungalow is a cute, quaint space that was perfect for our weekend in the UP. The space sleeps six comfortably, but we fit nine in just fine and had a great time. The hosts make you feel so welcome (waters and yogurt in the fridge and granola bars and k-cups for our stay). We loved being able to have access to the yard, waterfront and firepit. This place is really one of the best and we highly recommend!!

    Elizabeth2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our time at Chris's place. Cozy and clean with a beautiful, relaxing location. Simple check in and super friendly hosts. Thank you for a great stay - we'll be back!

    Michael2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Kelly's place was fantastic! The bungalow was cute, cozy, and you could tell how much thought they put into making the space really feel like a home away from home. Their property is incredibly lovely as well, sitting right on the lake in a very quiet neighborhood. Chris and Kelly have lights strung out in the backyard, providing for nice nights out by the lake. So nice that my fiancé and I got engaged right on their property! And their "congratulations" for it was incredibly thoughtful. Chris was also incredibly responsive with any questions that we had, and they even gave some great tips for local places to go! We can't thank Chris and Kelly enough for providing us with the most memorable vacation.

    Brittany2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was way better than expected. The pictures online don't do justice. The bungalow has been freshly painted, has new windows, carpeting and flooring. The place is absolutely spotless, not a single speck of dust present. The hosts are one of the nicest people we have ever met - their attention to details is incomparable - we were provided with tea, coffee, board games to play, books... Unfortunately, due to our schedule, we didn't have time to use the waterfront as we wanted to. We will definitely plan to stay with Chris and his family next time we are in the area. Thank you.

    Grzegorz2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly, Chris' wife greeted us. She was extremely friendly and kind. We could tell that a lot of thought went into creating their Airbnb space and we really appreciated it. We are definitely going to return to their little hide away.

    Ronald2019-08-25T00:00:00Z

A fully equipped ready to live in 1 bedroom apartment, with full kitchen, one block from the snowmobile trail in downtown Hancock - I regularly ride from the house to the miles of trails. It is a 2nd story apartment with a small balcony. One block to the best restaurant/bar in town, Gino's Restaurant, and two and a half blocks the other direction to Portage Lake. The 4 unit building is very quiet, at the end of a dead end street, with a church yard next door. 30 day minimum rental.
My fraternity brother, Jeff, is the on-site manager of the building, and lives downstairs in apt 1. There are serious students and retired folks living in the building, so it is very quiet - no parties - We are walking distance to several bars and restaurants which are all open late.
We are at the west end of Hancock, on block behind the best restaurant in town, Gino's Restaurant, and 2.5 blocks to Portage Lake the other direction. There are a slew of bars and restaurants within walking distance to the house, as we are on the edge of downtown. The downtown portion of the snowmobile trail is one block from the house!

New in Feb. 2020: remodeled two-story attached apartment in a quiet/walk-able neighborhood. Heaps of space. Private entrance. Sauna. One bedroom and one Murphy bed in a common space, both with brand new queen mattresses. Plenty of parking. Current cap at 4 adults, but up to 3 beds for kids available on request. Walking: 5 min to Tech Trails, 15 min to MTU/downtown. Internet TV only. We are just getting started with this, adding pictures and details as we go. Feel free to ask questions!
The apartment is a sectioned off part of a larger house, separated by interior doors on both floors. You park outside and enter via private entrance on the ground floor. There is room outside for bikes and other outdoor gear. Can park 2 cars + a trailer if needed (please let us know in advance if you are towing toys). On the ground floor, there is a large family room with a tv monitor hooked up to air-play for streaming with your Apple product (but no cable or satellite), comfy chairs, and plenty of space for your boots, coats, and other gear. To get downstairs, you will need to use the spiral staircase. On the lower level, you'll find another big common space with a large kitchenette, dining table, a queen murphy bed, and a couch. There is also a large bedroom and a bathroom with a sauna. We remodeled the entire space starting in the fall of 2019. Kitchen has: full sized fridge, microwave, drip coffee maker, toaster oven, electric griddle, plenty of dishes, sharp knives, cutting boards, and more. Easy access to almost everything from tech trails to snowmobile trails to downtown and MTU. We bought this place so we could walk and bike everywhere.
Sitting on the top of the hill, this neighborhood is one of the few flat places in Houghton. It is very quiet and walkable. Most of the houses have an acre of land, so it's really wooded and relaxed. We regularly bike, walk, or run to the tech trails. Even our 5 year old can bike there. We also walk to downtown (takes 15 minutes) to have a beer or dinner, but it's definitely a big hill coming back up.
  • Central location. 5 minutes from campus. 3 minutes to trailhead. Spacious. Comfortable. Sauna. Honored to be their first AirBnb guest.

Please, NO snowmobiles or snowmobile gear on the property. Our cozy oasis is within two miles of Michigan Tech, Downtown Houghton, fabulous biking, hiking and ski trails and within 11 miles of Mt. Ripley, the Quincy Mine, and the Houghton County airport. If the location wasn’t enough, you’ll love our place because it’s super cozy, and you get the whole house - so it’s private, too! We welcome couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families, and friends!
Sleeping: As a 1900s era mining home, the upstairs used to consist of 3 very small bedrooms. The entire upstairs was opened up into a single loft style room featuring a new Restonic (Made in the UP!) Queen size bed and a twin bed. The living room features a pull out couch with an acceptable mattress (better than the floor). Also a brand new smart tv (access to Netflix, YouTube, etc) with DVD player and small collection of movies. Kitchen: Eat-in kitchen with sink, full-size fridge, microwave, small crockpot, coffee maker & full-size stove. The fridge is stocked with basics (ketchup, mustard, etc) and we also provide complimentary coffee and tea. Front Porch: An enclosed front porch is great for enjoying a morning cup of coffee in the summer or storing bikes and skis when not in use. Smoking: Smoking is not allowed in the house or on the property. Child Proof: Two baby gates will be provided upon request at least one day prior to arrival. Yard: A quarter acre lot with plenty of room for the young ones to run around.
Located a short walk from the Michigan Tech Trail's Mill Rd Trailhead. Perfect for mountain bikers and skiers looking for easy access to the trails.
  • Nina’s place is stylish, clean, and retro with plenty of space. We really enjoyed our stay!

  • Cheery little house with great location. Extremely close to Houghton but off the main highway so no traffic noise. Can walk to the trail head and have miles and miles of hiking available. Extremely responsive and friendly hosts. Can't wait to stay again.

  • This is a nice, comfy small home. It was clean and had everything we needed. We especially appreciated staying in an old mining house, given the history of the region. It has been updated, but has nods to its historic past. Although the location has a “woodsy” feel, it is only 5 min from the MTU campus.

  • This is my favorite place to stay in Houghton. The house is a perfect home base, and Nina and Eric are terrific hosts.

  • Great house that’s close to MTU! We absolutely loved our stay here. Hopefully another trip to Houghton is in the cards for the future so we can stay again. Thanks Nina and family !

  • Nina’s house was perfect for our snowboarding trip to Mount Bohemia. The amenities were great. The beds were comfortable with plenty of extra pillows and blankets. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom. The kitchen is big and has anything you might need. The WiFi worked super well. The tv was a smart tv and was nice for relaxing after snowboarding. Nina was very accommodating. We had to change the dates of our trip due to lack of snow. She was prompt with her response and with no questions asked. I would definitely recommend Nina’s house and would stay there again!

  • This house was great for our trip to the area. The host provided everything we needed for a successful stay. It was super clean and they had tons of resources whether it was cookware, cleaning supplies or extra towels. The heat worked great and we were comfortable in the dead of winter. I would stay there again and I think it was valued fairly.

  • Truly a great little cabin. They upgraded the TV to a large flatscreen smart TV which was a nice surprise. WiFi works great! Large floor space upstairs, perfect if you are traveling with a group of friends who each want their own bed (bring air mattresses).

Located on Portage Lake in Chassell, MI, near Houghton with quick access to Michigan Tech University, this rustic family cabin is a great place for either an overnight stay or a longer getaway. It provides a great home base for travel in the Keweenaw peninsula! As a 1930s cabin with a sauna on the lake along with a great view, the focus is on the experience! We find guests who truly enjoy our place are flexible with rustic conditions (not looking for Holiday Inn Express) and young at heart!
Along with the house of the owner, this is the only cabin on this property. Guests have access to the sauna on the lake and the shower in the owner's house in order to bathe. The cabin which has only cold water includes a kitchen (with a refrigerator, cooking surface, convection oven, microwave oven, griddle, coffee and hot pot) as well as a toilet.
The cabin is located on Portage Lake in a quiet neighborhood with a rails-to-trails path right across the road that is great for walking, running or biking. A township park is located on the lake 3/4 of a mile to the south. The Michigan Technological University campus is located 6 miles to the north and west on US 41. Downtown Houghton (where the dock for the Ranger to Isle Royale is located) is one mile farther where you will find numerous dining options and an outstanding brewery.
  • Keith and Julie were very friendly, gave us some great local tips on the best nearby places to visit, and were very attentive whenever we would need anything. The sauna right on the docks was also great! Beautiful sunrises and stargazing!

  • Gorgeous view! A dip in the lake and then a sauna is a must.

    Tara2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • I'm not sure anyone could be finer hosts than Keith and Julie. We experienced a truly outstanding UP trip and staying at this place was a highlight. Watched the World Series Game One with Keith. Got the sauna up to 185 degrees. Chicken soup was perfect. Onya Keith and Julie!

  • Keith and Julie were around to help out with anything that was needed, always there for a helping hand :) beautiful little yard with a beautiful view of the stars at night and sunrise in the morning. Thanks guys!

  • Great house! We spent a wonderful night in Keith & Julie house. The house is located just beside a beautiful lake where you can appreciate the sunrise and sunset. The house is very clean and warm, we all have a good sleep. What's more, I really impressed by Keith & Julie's hospitality, we had a great talk which allows me to learn more about the north michigan. Extremely Recommended!

  • Keith and Julie are amazing hosts and their cabin was perfect for our stay. We had a long drive up from Chicago and arrived quite late. Keith and Julie were very understanding, and even had the sauna heated for us upon arrival. The sunrise from the deck the next morning was absolutely breathtaking. We had planned to continue up to Copper Harbor, and Keith and Julie shared their favorite spots to stop along the way and gave us a map. We couldn't have asked for a better way to start our first trip visiting the UP!

    Amanda2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Julie and Keith are fantastic hosts with very warm and friendly hospitality. The setting was amazing, a quaint and rustic cabin on the lake. Although there is no bathroom in the cabin, they were very inviting about using the guest bathroom in the main house. We wish we could have taken advantage of both the vintage, wood-fired sauna and the incredible hiking trails near by, but it just will encourage us to come back and visit sometime. We loved our stay!

Historic feeling company house in Painesdale! This place has a full kitchen with laundry closet, dining room, living room with wood piers, 2 bedrooms with closets and more importantly queen beds, and a full bathroom! The driveway has parking for large vehicles/trailers. Approximately 8 miles from the City of Houghton and just off of M26. The Bill Nichols Snowmobile/ATV trail is right across the street! This is the perfect place for your Copper Country/Keweenaw getaway!
Tons of character and just the right amount of space for a comfortable stay.
Snowmobile/ATV trail is across the street! 8 miles from Houghton/Hancock where there are awesome restaurants, Michigan Tech, and the Michigan Tech Ski/Recreation Trails. 47 miles to Mount Bohemia, and 54 miles to Copper Harbor.

  • David’s place was awesome! Super clean, super homey, and really easy to get to. The location was great for access to Houghton or even Mt Bohemia. David was great with communicating and super easy to work with! They had all kinds of recommendations in a binder in their house, and had all kinds of amenities (great shampoo, oils, etc). If you’re looking for a place to stay, don’t look any further than David’s place!

  • Awesome place to stay. The walls are a bit thin but will defiantly stay again.

  • Vintage place. Very clean. A bit noisy from vintage wood flooring and downtown traffic, but bearable. Shared showers. Definitely take a early shower or a late shower. My stay was nonetheless really good. Although my stay started the Saturday before when other individuals came for Winter Carnival on Thursday through Sunday.
