What guests are saying about homes in Knighton

Our stay with Anne was wonderful, we booked our stay for a Hen Do and out requirements were; within a reasonable travelling distance of our homes, enough space for at least 9 to sleep over and 20 to visit during the day. The house is immense and the pictures do not do its size justice. We arrived and Anne our lovely host let us decorate and even roped in her handsome son Ben to help us put up bunting in the garden - the bunting was used at Anne's daughters wedding...so many personal touches that make you feel at home and part of the family. The beautiful sunshine allowed to spend the day in the garden where we had afternoon tea followed by paint your own pottery and our evening activity of life drawing was held in the light filled atmospheric orangery (so our model didn't get too cold!). Our day guests departed after this and we spent the evening in the cinema room where we watched a video of the bride prepared by a Hen, played games and watched a movie until we all crashed in bed. Anne and her family allowed us to use the amazing kitchen (it's a dream kitchen with an Aga the size of a horse! And a dog the size of a small horse!!) we cooked pizza in the Ava and bacon rolls the next morning. During the day Anne really felt like one of us taking part in the activities, she even made and baked us scones and bread to enjoy as part of our afternoon tea - plus we enjoyed fresh honey and honeycomb from the bees at the bottom of the garden. But more importantly Anne is the most incredible host and no request is too big, we just lived the whole experience, the quirkiness of the house, the beautiful gardens, Horatio the most incredible dog and we also were lucky enough to hear Anne's youngest daughter play the harp for the Bridesmaids!! Our sleeping arrangements were spread through the house which actually added to the experience of us all dashing around to each other's rooms and losing each other. All the pottery, the animals and the family make you feel like you maybe are in a Harry Potter film!! We are just trying to find an excuse now to go back! Special Thanks to Anne - we wish we lived closer so we can get together with you and see you again. You are a star.

I stopped at Will's Yurt with my daughter and her friends for her 18th. I must admit I was a little worried as I hadn't admitted that there wasn't any Internet but they loved it! Will had started the fires in the yurt and the shepherds hut and they were lovely and cosy. The girls played games and talked into the night and I got to curl up in the hut and have peace and quiet knowing that the girls weren't getting into trouble or driving anyone mad! You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but it is just on the outskirts of Leicester so there are plenty of places for food.
