  • Gustavo and Lila’s place was sparkling clean and well maintained and Gustavo was very friendly and helpful. Everything was as advertised. The location gives a nice view across the valley and was convenient to Pinnacles national park where we did some great hikes. We would definitely stay here again.

  • This was a surprisingly comfortable and well-appointed space with an awesome location close to some excellent hiking in the National Park. I would highly recommend staying here!

  • Beautiful and Romantic. Very clean, spacious, private and quiet.

    Lisa2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time! The location is perfect (15 minutes from the Pinnacles NP), the room was clean and our host was very helpful. The entrance was as advertised separate from there house, and the check-in was very easy. The room has a bathtub with whirlpool function, which was very nice, there was a telescope in the room we where allowed to use – we could see the moon as there was a clear night during our stay – and there is a fridge, a coffee machine and small table, which allowed us to have a quick breakfast before hiking in the morning. All in all it was the perfect place for us and we would go back in a heartbeat.

    Victoria2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at Gustavo and Lila's for a couple nights while visiting Pinnacles National Park — great accessibility to the west entrance of park (~15 min drive). The room was very neat, and the fresh-brewed coffee was much appreciated. The view from the porch was gorgeous, and the bathroom and overall amenities made relaxing after a day of hiking really enjoyable. Gustavo was quick to respond when we contacted him. Overall, a wonderful stay!

    Kanaad2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really beautiful space, both inside the room/apartment and outside in a beautiful setting. Gustavo was an outstanding host, always available and solicitous.

  • Theresa was an excellent host! Easy instructions to get to the house, greeted me warmly when I arrived and everything was perfect - a very comfortable room and bed, a private bathroom, and fresh coffee in the morning. Unfortunately I had to cut my stay short to get back home for a work emergency, but I would definitely stay with Theresa again when I'm in the area!

The ranch is close to Monterey Bay Aquarium, California Rodeo Salinas, Pinnacles National Monument, John Steinbeck's Museum and Victorian House, and the Laguna Seca Raceway. The ranch studio apartment includes two twin beds, a full bath, and half kitchen. Guests also have access to our outdoor kitchen. Pets are welcome upon pre-approval from the on-site manager. • My friend and I enjoyed our time in Margaret’s studio. The place is located in a farm, it is very clean with a bathroom and 2 twin beds.

    Hamed2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great if you are looking to go to Pinnacles National Park or Monterey/ Carmel. Be mindful not to use two heaters at once. I had too much plugged in (room heater, bathroom heater, hair dryer) and the lights/heat went out. But Margaret and Kaleb were suuuper helpful, communicative and friendly. I was traveling solo and felt very safe in their home, even at dark. Their dog was so friendly too!

    Diana2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The local area was quite beautiful. A few cows & a horse or two can be seen on site.

    Fernando2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the studio for three nights during our road trip. It's a convenient place to stay if you would like to explore the Big Sur area, but a car is necessary for travel. Victoria, our co-host, was always available for any queries. We were also provided member passes to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which not only grants you entry but also discounts at coffee and gift shops within the aquarium. On the morning of check out, the water supply to the studio stopped. Victoria was quick to assess the situation and even offered us an alternative to have a shower before check out. We really appreciate the gesture shown by the hosts.

  • Great place to stay.

    Gustavo2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • A bit far from monterey but a unique and picturesque place! You stay in an American ranch that changes! A real experience! A little rustic but we win in authenticity!

    Cecilie2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • For people who want some rest, it is the perfect place. A beautiful farm with great views and a lot of atmosphere. Salinas and Monterey are easily reached by car. In 25-40 minutes. We felt very comfortable.

    Melanie2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was great, exactly as it was described! A great value. A bit of a drive, but still convenient to the 101, Carmel and Monterey. Quiet, private and peaceful. Highly recommend.

Hablamos Español. 日本語も大丈夫です。 You will be greeted by my co-host, Jaime, who is my dad. Located in Gonzales. Separate room detached from the main house. Quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to several parks. 35 minute drive to Monterey, Pacific Grove, and Carmel by-the-Sea. 45 minute drive to Santa Cruz. 30 minute drive to Pinnacles National Park West Entrance. Great home base for touring many Wineries in South Monterey County. There are also some old historical missions worth visiting
We are in the older part of Gonzales and one block from the police department, the fire department , city hall, and the main park. The neighborhood is quite and the people are very friendly. You can take walks late in the evenings and feel safe . There are several Mexican restaurants close by that you can walk to . There is also an Italian restaurant 2 blocks away and a steak house 3 blocks away , there is also a Mexican bakery that is open from 5:00am till 8:00 pm and they have wonderful Mexican pastries and full meals .
  • Outstanding hospitality! Jaime is a very outgoing and friendly person. Excellent communication with Jacob. Thank you both!

    Jonathon2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jaime (Jacob's father) welcomed me and he's such a nice person, very helpful! Room is isolated from the house itself, cozy. Would definitely come back when I'm around

    Lorris2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice peoples. I recomande this place. Denis

    Denis2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jaime and Jacob were great along every step of the way. Their place is one block from downtown Gonzales and quick access from Hwy 101. There are some thoughtful little touches - the key fob is a flood light, there are lots of outlets in the room, the space heater works excellently, and the freezer compartment of the minifridge actually freezes things! Jaime's response time is the fastest I have ever experienced on Airbnb. I would happily stay here again.

    Toni2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Jaime and Jacob's for the second time last night. The room is a converted shed you get thru using the side gate. The bathroom is separate in the house which is no biggie at all. It's very quiet the bed is very comfy. Their home is lived in and I am not rating their personal living space. The bathroom and room are kept neat and tidy. It feels like you're bunking at a friend's place. I feel safe here as well.

    Trish2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication. Ive stayed at Jacob’s place several times. Every time I leave with a great experience. Jaime, Jacob’s father is very friendly and helpful.

  • Much bigger than I expected . Beautifully decorated rooms. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and cozy. I loved that you had extra blankets in the unit. Check in was super easy. Had a very beautiful back patio area and front patio area to have a nice breakfast/lunch looking out to the beautiful wilderness.

  • Great place!! Sooo private!! Loved having WiFi cause no phone signal. The movies that were left were things we’ve never see before which was a treat! Sooo off the beaten path it’s incredible! The drive there was magnificent!! I agree with the others commenting about “get there in the daylight” cause u will miss the turn! 😋 I can not recommend this place enough! The bedding was also super comfy and the heater kept us nice and toasty all night! Wish we could have stayed longer 😁

    Taylor2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The place was nice and clean. Would come back again.

  • Great place to get out of the city for a couple nights. Quite a curved and fun drive to get there. Follow his directions and you’ll have no problem finding the place.

    Darin2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful stay, very clean and secluded like we wanted. Me and my husband enjoyed the location as well as the store market close by! Kind of hard to find but we found pretty quick as soon as you pass houses on the left with a high light brown fence get ready to look for mailboxes to the left and there’s an address of 7000 something to the right, make a quick left turn down and it’s to the right! Will definitely be back again!

    Lauren2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • It took us a bit to find the house... definitely download the map before you go because it is quite easy to get lost. Also, listen to Daniel’s instructions. There isn’t lights on the road so make sure you get there before sunset or you’ll be driving in pitch black darkness. The house was cute and cozy. Secluded and very very quite. It has everything you need for a good comfy stay.

  • Such a beautiful and peaceful property! Amy is amazing to work with, my family and I really enjoyed our stay. And, the bed is super comfy!

    Olivia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to escape the busy city life! Amy’s place had 4 roaming cats and 2 super friendly dogs that love to say hello, surrounded by a huge vineyard with a beautiful sunrise view from the front deck. There was no pool, it was taken out, but the deep bathtub was heavenly. Amazing vibes, was a great place to relax, have a smoke outside, and enjoy company :)

    Liam2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Amy’s place was beautiful. Waking up to the view of the vineyard from the foothills of the Santa Lucias is a memory I won’t soon forget. Our stay was peaceful and enjoyable. Amy added plenty of personal touches (including farm fresh eggs) that made our stay extra special and responded to all of our messages very quickly. We really enjoyed our stay! We highly recommend staying at Amy’s place.

    Emma2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amy's place is super beautiful and peaceful. The yurt is amazing and also has nice a kitchen and cookware. The bathroom is separate but is right outside the door and is nice as well. Loved having a firepit around and the view for the sunrise and sunset is fantastic! Plus the host was super hospitable and we were even able to cook some eggs fresh from the ranch, and pick a garden vegetable or two to add to our dinner for the night! Would recommend Amy's place to any friends looking to stay in the area.

    Erich2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was wonderful and one of our favorite places we have stayed while traveling. The yurt is located on a working farm and the drive is through a vineyard which was beautiful. We spent time at some of the local tasting rooms and everyone was extremely friendly with some amazing wines all within 20 minutes. The kitchen has everything you need to cook with and would reccomend bringing some groceries for cooking becuase 1) the place is beautiful 2) there is not much close (closest food we found was in Gonzales or Salinas). Our stay was everything we needed and hope we can find our way back sometime soon.

    Ross2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Everyone should experience this Yurt life at least once. This is great for couples! Amy lives nearby and she was more than welcoming and hospitable when my fiancée arrived before me. Be prepared to go off-roading as the Yurt is located towards the back of the vineyards. I would also recommend future travelers to bring groceries, make use of all the great amenities that Amy offers in the Yurt. There’s a tv but bring a laptop or something to cast from. Would love to stay here again

  • Such a wonderful space for a respite from the everyday!! There seemed to be wonderful surprises around most corners. From the morning fog to the hummingbirds to the inquisitive fluffy white dog it was full of joyful experiences. We even saw a majestic rainbow which seemed to sprout up from the valley below. It was all such a treat!

  • Jen and Rob’s little oasis was the perfect place to unwind. Jen and Robs hospitality was the most memorial part of our stay. They made sure to have the perfect little touches (extra toiletries, different types of milk, some fruit, and even some eggs!) We loved getting to meet their sweet animal buddies, spending time on the patio sipping coffee and playing cards, and walking the trail around the property. Also, they gave us some honey that Rob made himself! I highly recommend this beautiful homey stay.

    Michaela2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great get-away from the hustle and bustle of Monterey or Carmel, but allows you to take advantage of the Coastal cities of Monterey, Carmel and Big Sur. Highly recommended.

  • Wonderful. Exceeded all expectations. A fantastic, well designed home overlooking an incredible landscape. Jen and Rob are as welcoming and kind as one could ever hope to find in people.

  • Magical. Incredible. Rejuvenating. Peaceful. Wow.

    Jameson2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Jen & Rob's getaway cabin was an absolute delight! Everything was better than expected from the communication to the cabin itself. We wish we could have stayed longer!

    Chelsea2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place was incredible!! My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful getaway trip. The location was INCREDIBLE- the views on the balcony was breath taking. The drive up to the place is very very windy so I would recommend an SUV. I can’t thank Jen and rob enough. They even gave us honey on our way out! We can’t wait to come back

    Delaney2020-02-24T00:00:00Z

Float down the lazy river or in the private pool and stay in a beautifully built cabin and pool house situated on the Arroyo Seco river. The river is approximately 100 yards beyond the pool. Follow the path through the river rock to the sandy beach of the river. The beautiful Arroyo Seco river sits beneath a breath-taking cliff and curves down to the Salinas river. This is a beautiful retreat for all ages with plenty to do and see.
The main house is 2 bedroom and 1.5 bathrooms with a pull out couch in the second bedroom/office and large sectional couch in the living room. There is a large covered patio off of the main house with seating for a large group. The pool house is a large 2 room open floor plan with 1 bathroom. Mountain setting in a snug cabin with beautiful views, great hiking.
The house was my sculpting studio for years, and before that, a hay barn. It's now a snug cabin with lofty views of the wild Los Padres National Forest. The surrounding vineyards and hiking areas make this a perfect getaway for artists, writers or anyone wishing to escape the hustle of city life. This is a ranch setting, a scenic 45 minute drive from downtown Carmel. Excellent hiking trails are accessible from the ranch into the Los Padres National Forest. Enjoy views of several vineyards surrounding the property, each with wine tasting rooms in Carmel Valley village, 20 minutes from the ranch. This unique and beautiful area on the central coast of California is far enough inland from the coast to enjoy distinct seasons. Summer can be hot in our mountain valley, ranging from the sweltering 90s to perfect 70s, depending on coastal fog and temperature fluctuations. Spring is gorgeous, always, with a field of wildflowers in front of the cabin through May. Fall and Winter are beautiful, green and bright, but the nights are chilly. Once in a great while- not often enough these years- it will rain! Come prepared for the season. Hikes and walks through the surrounding vineyards, around the mountain behind the house, or into the nearby wilderness area. Trek up to Tassajara Hot Springs, or visit the MIRA Observatory on the remote end of our valley, or visit Carmel, Pacific Grove and Monterey for numerous cultural and tourist attractions, including the famed Monterey Bay Aquarium. Whale Watching excursions from Monterey's Fisherman's Wharf provide amazing and up close encounters with migrating whales and other marine life.
The stars at night, the birds, peacocks, deer and other wildlife, the walk behind the house up to the vineyard and the mountaintop yoga platform, the view of the Los Padres National Forest, and the hike behind Los Padres Dam are attractions in the immediate area.
  • Decided to take a trip here with my girls friend for my birthday. It was even better than expected. Kris’ directions were spot on and very detailed and we found the place even in the dark (although she does recommend you drive up there while the suns out since there are minimal lights around the area). The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need. Definitely felt like home. Cozy cabin vibe and you have a large part of the land outside to yourself. We’ve already recommended this place to a couple of our friends! Highly recommend!

  • Amazing place to stay. Me and my wife stayed here on our honeymoon and we loved it.

    Christian2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what a wonderful place to stay. I am sad we couldn't stay longer. The house was super cozy with plenty of charm, a rustic setting, and so many amenities. Do your grocery shopping for your stay beforehand because you don't want to make the mountain trek too often. Once you get there, settle in, hike the grounds, watch the horses graze, and enjoy the incredible peace and quiet of the area. An amazing place to get out of the hustle and bustle to recharge your batteries.

    Grant2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome stay! Kris is so attentive and really made sure we were comfortable in the space! Such a great experience!

    Cristian2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Kris' place was absolutely fantastic. Would recommend and certainly plan on going again!

    Naomi2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Kris' cabin was incredible in so many ways. The views are spectacular, hiking right out the back door and Kris was an amazing host. Highly recommend.

    Neil2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • I had a so lovely experience in Kris’s house. It’s like my dream house. The house is so delicate—with beautiful paintings, carvings, fabrics, and even interesting tiny musical instruments. Kris is also a considerate host, and her house has almost everything I need. Maps, guides, kitchenware, and even her cute handwritings about the surroundings. I had an unforgettable time playing guitar on her roof, and cooking for my love in her sunny kitchen. These memories will never fade away:)

    Windy2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • I was looking for a quiet, somewhat remote place to stay and unplug while I was in the area for work. Kris' place has all the rustic charm I was looking for and Kris is sweet as pie. Her directions to find the place were super helpful as I ended up arriving in the dark. She was always quick to communicate, offer local suggestions, or even just let me be as needed.

Cozy, charming cabin at the edge of a large meadow on 85 acres of rural Monterey county. Perched on the doorstep of Los Padres National Forest, rugged Ventana Wilderness, and Tassajara Zen Center. The 140sq ft cabin features 2 beds, and a separate building with composting toilet and a hot outdoor propane shower. This is a perfect getaway to unplug, retreat, hideout, and reset. *PLEASE READ THE DETAILS IN THE DESCRIPTION BEFORE REQUESTING TO BOOK.* This property is 60 miles from Big Sur.
The cabin is rustic and tiny- but insulated, covered in reclaimed wood siding and repurposed corrugated metal. It overlooks a large meadow and is situated next to an incredible old valley oak tree. There are 2 beds in the cabin - one full bed on a frame, and one queen size futon that folds into a couch. Inside the cabin there is a light and a heater, drinking water, and some spare bedding. A few steps away from the cabin is the bath/outhouse. The outdoor shower is heated by propane, and the outhouse features a composting toilet.
It's real quiet out here. The average parcel size in this area is around 50 acres, and it is just a few short miles to the Los Padres National Forest boundary, and a couple miles beyond that to the Ventana Wilderness. So, to the south, between the Ventana Wilderness and Hunter Liggett, there are several hundred thousand acres of totally empty countryside. Looking up into the night sky, visitors may barely discern the glow of civilization to the northeast, but to the south, it's nothing but bright stars and ink black sky. Our most consistent visitors are wild animals.
  • Kelley and Mike’s place is an absolute gem in the mountains. We stayed here for a weekend night and wish we would’ve stayed longer. The cabin is super cozy, surrounded by beautiful woods, and incredible night skies. It is one of the best romantic getaways my partner and I have had in a long time. Highly recommend it!

    Diego2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. What a gem of a place. Michael and Kelley have built a wonderful hideaway perched on top of a hill with everything you need and nothing you don't. We spent two nights staying here and enjoyed the hiking trails on property, read books under a shaded patio area, cooked delicious food (note, there is no kitchen, sink, or refrigerator, so you need to bring your own camping stove, eating utensils, and cooler to store food), and played games. This was the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. This is PERFECT for anyone looking for a rural getaway with a wonderful outdoor shower and simple living. Wonderful stargazing at night and the three dogs on the property are super sweet and fun (we played frisbee with two of them for over an hour). Michael even let us harvest some tomatoes and peppers from his home garden!

    Jeff2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Peace, quiet, a tranquilty I don't think I've ever experienced. Will definitely return again. The space is beautiful, thoughtful touches. It feels like home. Magical magical place.

    Robert2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Sadly we had to cancel our trip to Kelley’s place, but we were so grateful for her understanding of our situation, as well as her quick communication.

    Aaron2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing remote place to stay! Very cozy and quiet. Just what we were looking for! Would def come back and stay longer next time. Thank you so much for having us!

    Ian2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time. The cabin was comfortable for the two of us for a short stay. The bed was good, the room had extra blankets, and there are lots of essentials in the cupboard. The outdoor bathroom wasn't a problem - I was relieved that the shower was hot and had lots of pressure. Kelley's directions (both in airbnb and printed in the cabin) were helpful and very detailed. The cabin is far enough away from any cities (pay attention to the driving instructions!) that we definitely felt like we got away from stress and were able to relax in the countryside.

    Rich2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny cabin was the perfect place to get away and unplug. The cabin we perfectly stocked with amenities and information for a night in the cabin. The outhouse and shower were easy to use. There was plenty of information about seeing the property. There is also a cute little town with a market fairly close by if you need to pick up any last minute things but there are plenty of personal care items in the cabin. The owners have a dog who visited us in the morning and she is an absolute angel, so friendly! Overall, I can’t recommend this cabin enough if you’re looking for a way to get away from city life for a little while!

    Cassandra2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Kelley's place is a great option to get away from the city. All my pre-trip questions and concerns were answered promptly and clearly. At the cabin, there are detailed and thorough instructions on how everything works. The provided driving directions were very clear and I was able to find the cabin at night without any issue. I highly recommend Kelley's cabin for those looking for a place to unplug.

Studio 50 is a small one room guest house with bath, detached from the main house on a fenced-in property. Very quiet road, no street lights, 5 - 10 walking minutes to the center of CV Village. Kitchenette but NO KITCHEN SINK! There is one in the bathroom, of course....
CV Studio 50 is a very pleasant, bright and colorful room for two with shower and kitchenette with fridge/freeyer, microwave, toaster, espresso maker and water kettle. There are SIGHT blocking curtains, but no DAYLIGHT blocking curtains. Please refer to pictures. We decided to turn the no longer needed den into a cozy guest room. The place is completely renovated and insulated. Carmel Valley Village is the center of wine tasting in beautiful sunny Carmel Valley. Excellent restaurants, cafe/bakery etc. We especially recommend Rustica and Corkscrew, Wild Goose for breakfast... and there are many more, all good. We are located 5 min. walking distance from the center of the Village, where you'll find plenty of opportunities to enjoy yourself. The Holman Ranch (weddings, special events, corporate retreats) is 2 min. from the Studio, the iconic Running Iron Restaurant & Saloon just down the road, over 20 wine tasting places, CV Market, art galleries and shopping. You reach Garland Regional Park (main entrance) in 5 minutes (driving), Carmel by the sea 12 mi., Pebble Beach 14,58mi., Laguna Seca Raceway 8,75 miles, Monterey Bay Aquarium 20 miles, Tassajara Zen Mountain Center 16 miles, Big Sur 43,28miles, Esalen Institute Big Sur 52,28 miles If possible, don't miss Point Lobos, 25 minutes drive from us - a gem! The best bakery of the Peninsula is located at the mouth of the Valley at the Barnyard Shopping Center: Lafayette - everything you can think of a french bakery has to offer, best quality you can get. And there is much more to enjoy, like whale watching, horse back riding golfing etc.... Carmel Valley enjoys at least such as 333 days of sunshine per year!
Carmel Valley attracts people who embrace and enjoy nature, wildlife and tranquility, as well as the art of fine dining and wining, art, long epic walks in Garland park and much more. It's possible that you will be greeted by locals: "Good morning! Another ugly day in Carmel Valley..." - It's the everlasting sunshine that keeps us locals almost always in a good mood! Guests also come to the Valley to visit big events at Laguna Seca, Pebble Beach, The Holman Ranch and more.
  • Excellent classy Airbnb with nice touches in a gorgeous valley with great hiking and wineries nearby! Highly recommend would definitely come back

    Josh2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a great stay at Katia’s place. We hope to be back next time we find ourselves in Carmel Valley.

    Anne2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful little quiet one room cottage. The pictures do not do this place justice. Walking distance from town. Katia is an outstanding host. She made sure we were comfortable with everything before giving us complete privacy. We just loved her little place. She definitely has a gift for hospitality with little niceties everywhere. We have never been in such a well equipped, well thought out Air B&B!

    Peggy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so precious! From Katia’s kindness and welcoming presence to all the cute decor. This was me and my boyfriend’s second stay here and it was just as amazing as before! Definitely recommend for a couple’s getaway in a beautiful area.

    Chrissy2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great location near the village. Comfortable and clean. We will definitely stay here again.

    Christy2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Katia's studio is very comfortable. Love that it comes stocked with complimentary snacks and drinks - dark chocolate KitKats for the win! You're also walking distance from a ton of wine tasting rooms, but you won't hear any traffic noise. Easy access to Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea too. Would definitely stay here again.

    Soraya2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • This sweet little sanctuary is so chic and cozy! Its got unique combination of vintage and modern. It was within a walk to local eateries and has tons of flavor. Our hosts were quite loving and cheery. We will come again.

    Ryann2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is the place for you if you're looking for a quiet, cozy getaway in the hills. Katia was a wonderful host and I would absolutely go back again.

  • Amazing location close to Pinnacles National Park. New calf was born shortly before our arrival, wow! As others have said, pack a cooler and bring food so you don't have to drive to the nearest town to buy groceries. Beautiful scenery, great place to stay, thanks Sonya and Steve!

    Neal2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place on the ranch and about as close as you can get to Pinnacles National Park.

    Chris2019-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Staying on Sonya and Steve’s cattle ranch was a unique experience, quite peaceful. The travel trailer was clean and comfortable, though not fancy. The kitchen is equipped with a small oven/range and microwave for preparing meals, which you will need to do this far away from the nearest town. We had lovely breakfasts and dinners eating on the cafe table under an oak tree looking out at the meadows and hills. Sonya was a great host, easy to communicate with and very helpful. Best of all Sonya’s place was a short drive from the amazing eastern side of Pinnacles National Park - the High Peaks and Balconies Cave & Cliffs trails were fantastic, we even saw a condor from about 15 feet away.

WE ARE NOT IN BIG SUR Located deep in Carmel Valley in rural Cachagua, the studio over-looks the Carmel River and the Ventana Wilderness of Los Padres National Forest. WE ARE NOT IN BIG SUR! This is a remote setting: We are 40 minutes inland from Carmel/Monterey and and 1.5 hours away from Big Sur. The studio is an apartment sharing a common wall with the apartment next door.
We are located deep in Carmel Valley on a very windy, narrow and steep country road--some call it harrowing but worth the drive. The property has a small cluster of mountain cabins built in the 1920s as a summer retreat for a Carmel Highlands family. Nestled under old oaks, the studio apartment is tucked at the back of the main cabin, an overlooks the Carmel River. The main cabin, built in 1929, has two other apartments, all of which have their own entrances. The studio shares one wall with the one bedroom apartment. Included in the studio is a kitchenette stocked with basic utensils for cooking, allowing you to stay in and enjoy the peace and quiet of a retreat atmosphere. NOTE: The oven is on the blink and only heats to 260º. There is the stove top and toaster. The small apartment sized refrigerator is located next to the kitchen in the bathroom. The kitchen is stocked with basic breakfast items (coffee, teas, half and half, sugar, oatmeal) and cooking supplies (olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper). There is one full-size bed and a futon chair that makes into a twin bed. There is room for two adults and one child. The bathroom has a full-size claw foot bathtub, perfect for steamy relaxation. The deck over looks the Carmel River, which runs year-round. CHILDREN: The property is not suited for young children. PETS: Non-shedding, spayed FEMALE dogs are allowed on a case by case basis. No male dogs, no cats and no puppies! Dogs must be over a year old, well behaved, up to date with shots, and have their own bedding and towels (no muddy paws on the white towels, please). NOTE: If you bring your dog, she is to be with you at all times and never left behind. With the exception of state parks, this is a very dog friendly area and you should have no problems taking her anywhere. SUMMER HEAT & BUGS: First, it's usually fairly hot here--the river is the perfect spot to swim or just soak your feet. Second, It would be good to bring Off! or equivalent bug spray for mosquitoes and gnats. Last, if you plan on doing any hiking make certain you bring Technu for poison oak.
The Studio is located in a small cluster of cabins. There are some vegetable gardens and minimal landscaping. For returning visitors: 10/10/16-- General Store, located one mile inland, served it's last Monday night dinner. The closest restaurants are 30 minutes away in the Village.
  • Truly a remarkable experience to stay at this beautiful studio! The nature inside the property is so beautiful that you could definitely get lost in it. Definitely looking forward to coming back soon.

  • I loved it here. Would love to come back!

    Maya2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was just as described and better. Super quiet surrounding with creek right next to cabin, perfect place to unwind. The WiFi only worked very early in the mornings when not too many people were using it. So we recommend you download all the music and Netflix you might need for your stay before you’ll get there :) super comfy bed, big enough for two. We’ll be back!

    Julia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Marcia and Chris’s place was amazing! Super cozy and cute for a little couples getaway. My boyfriend and I came back feeling refreshed and zen. Beautiful mornings with coffee on the balcony. Super friendly hosts! Chris gave my boyfriend some tips for adventuring around the area. We’d love to come back!

    Brittnee2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about our stay at the studio was amazing! Marcia's detailed directions made finding the place very easy. We loved the peaceful patio by the river so much that we completely scrapped our plans to check out the town and just stayed in and relaxed. We cannot wait to return!

    Matt2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Marcia and Chris are such special hosts that it's no wonder their space exudes such magic. If you love the outdoors and are looking for a quaint and cozy space to relax, write or talk to birds this is your spot. The price is unbeatable and it's so serene. Marcia and I had some lovely chats and she told me all about the space, I was lucky to be there during the week as I got THE grand tour. Both Chris and Marcia were so helpful from building me a fire to helping me with the fabulous bathtub they were always close by to make sure I was comfortable. If you choose to stay in this charming spot please make sure to say "hi" to the birds for me :)

    Rachel2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a cozy, serene retreat, then look no further! Marcia’s cabin is the perfect place for a quiet getaway. It is a bit of a drive, but if you don’t mind some windy roads the destination is well worth it. The cabin is very clean, and the amenities are great. We had a wonderful stay!

    Kat2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy and unique studio by the river. Easy to find, and very welcoming host. Especially during winter season I would recommend heating the stove throughout the day for a warm night. Firestarters help a lot. Everything was great, the bed was comfortable, and I enjoyed my day on the deck. The only sad thing was that I didn't have my wife with me - she would have absolutely loved the place.

  • The Vineyard House is truly an awesome place to stay and unwind. We reached there late Friday evening, and were happy to see that the place looked much better than advertised. The house was sparkling clean, and Anna's check in instructions were to the point, and accurate. The house is spacious, and can easily accommodate 6-7 people. The beds/linen/couch/table were clean. The property is located in a quiet neighborhood and is maintained very well. I'd definitely like to come back here again!

  • Stunning location! Great house for our family! Highly recommend for an amazing retreat from the city. Close enough to get to Carmel with a drive through countryside. Loved it here!

    Debbie2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • I got married November 1 at Anna’s winery. We rented the villa, which held the ceremony we also rented the hacienda, which held the reception. I had 14 guests total and everyone had the time of their life! We stayed a few days and made it a retreat. We hired a shuttle that took us to the coast for photos and caterers to come to the hacienda. All vendors were easily able to find the place and loved it as well. Guests enjoyed the pool and hot tub and looking at all the art in the house. It was also an easy, scenic drive into Carmel and Monterey. Anna and her team are on point with everything you could need, and were lightning fast with communication. My wedding was one of the best experiences of my life- and perfect for an intimate gathering! Everything was just beautiful.

    Laura2019-11-03T00:00:00Z

  • This place is absolutely stunning! We are beyond happy to have done our intimate wedding there. It is a place that we will never forget. Photos posted don’t do this place entirely justice. The vineyards are well kept. The pool area is gorgeous. Our guests were also so pleased to stay there. There are plenty of beautiful spots to take photos and our photographers were delighted. Anna was very communicative and kindly answered all our concerns often minutes after sending a message. So thank you! If you are thinking of doing a wedding there, do it!!! You, your family and guests will be very happy you booked this place!

WE ARE NOT IN BIG SUR Travel deep into Carmel Valley and take a step back in time to this rustic, one bedroom apartment. The apartment is a unit in the main cabin, which is part of a small cluster of cabins. This is a remote setting: We are 40 minutes inland from Carmel/Monterey and and two hours away from Big Sur.
The Charles Green apartment is in the main cabin. The main cabin has three units. The Charles Green apartment is a one bedroom suite located between two studio apartments. The living room with an open ceiling, board and bat walls & wood floor, has a cozy couch in front of the stone fireplace & wood stove. There is one queen bed in the bedroom. It has a super firm mattress with a feather bed on top--quite comfy. It's an antique rope bed and very high off the ground. There is a skylight above the over-sized claw-foot bathtub, allowing for great soaks and gazing at the sky and branches of the ancient oak over-head. The kitchen has a vintage gas stove, small refrigerator, and supplies for cooking and baking. The stove is fine for roasting, but very pesky with over heating and not recommended for baking! BUGS & DUST: This is a 90 year old building in the woods. We clean several times a week; we do our best, but it is impossible to keep dust & cob webs 100% out of the space. If you require modern building, dust-free, sealed spaces, then please, please rent some place else.
We are not in Big Sur-- it takes 45 minutes to drive to the coast. The Big Sur coastline begins just south of Carmel. Big Sur proper is another 45 minutes. The Village is twenty miles (35 minute drive) towards the coast. It is only about three or four blocks long, but has at least 20 restaurants, and 15 tasting rooms. For returning visitors: 10/10/16-- General Store served it's last Monday night dinner.
  • Impeccable place to stay. A real gem!

  • We really enjoyed this cabin! It was a bit cold in late feb/march but they provided tons of firewood for the fire-pit and we were able to cozy up on the couch with a fire. The hosts even left us a delicious bottle of red wine! At night there was some creaking noises which kept us up a bit but overall that can be expected in a cabin setting. 3-4 mins away you can walk to the river which was beautiful! We could hear the water gushing in the background every time we stepped outside. It made the cabin area feel very relaxing. Overall we really enjoyed the stay!

  • Marcia was a great host, and we really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was cozy and inviting and a wonderful escape from the busyness of city life. It was so special to shower under the skylight and the kitchen was stocked for the home-cooking we try to do even on vacation. Highly recommend a walk down to the river in the morning or a fire in the fire pit on a chilly evening!

    Jess2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time in Carmel at the cabin! The surroundings were so beautiful & quaint & getting to warm up by the fire & relax and read was exactly what we were looking for. Everything was perfect, extra touches & thoughtful provisions were over the top, I hope to bring my little one with me next time to do more exploring! Thank you so much Marcia!

  • A simply peaceful home on an idyllic California landscape. This was exactly the right place to disconnect and unwind. There’s nothing like being warmed by only the heat of an oak-filled fireplace for days. Surrounded by ancient mossy oaks and the sound of Carmel river, it’s easy to hear your own thoughts and slow down. We had everything we could possibly need to cook full meals and all other comforts. Marcia even brought us fresh baked cookies one afternoon! Really couldn’t ask for a better getaway.

    Lacy2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This rustic cabin can support a peaceful retreat for a few folks!

    Colin2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Marcia's space will take you back in time, to a peaceful place immersed in nature. The cabin is comfortable and clean and there are trails nearby to explore the majestic oak woodlands. The soothing sound of the river is always there to calm you. There are old books and watercolor sets that will allow to to connect with your inner creator. A truly magical place.

    Brad2020-01-26T00:00:00Z

Nurture yourself in nature at this one bedroom suite on private three acres. With a large private deck, under the grand old oaks. You'll feel a sense of peacefulness just stepping foot on this sacred property. Leave your cares behind, recharge. There is WIFI, however, no TV. The kitchenette has a keurig coffee maker, and a toaster oven. There is an outdoor sink with gas BBQ grill. The SEASONAL creek usually runs after the rains and until the hot summer. It varies from year to year.
The property is very serene, and 25 minutes from restaurants, and grocery stores. You are away from the outside world. You can hike to the Los Padres Dam, Carmel River. Feel free to walk about the property. 1 Queen bed in bedroom, sofa/sleeper in living area.
You can hike right out the front door to the Los Padres Dam or Carmel River. The neighborhood is friendly and safe, what more could you ask for?
  • We loved our stay here! Rose and her husband were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. The Bunkhouse is very cozy and a perfect place for one or two people looking for some R&R away from the hustle and bustle of city life. My favorite thing was waking up in the morning and having our coffee on the porch by the creek. So peaceful!

    Heather2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Ever wondered about the hills behind Carmel and Big Sur. You can hike among the live oaks and spanish moss, fish for brookies and rainbow at the head of the Carmel River, or just wander the neighborhood. And despite the very rural nature of Rose's place, it is a convenient and pleasant 30-40 minute drive to Carmel, the mission, and Point Lobos. Rose and her husband will share suggestions, and tell you more too about the area if you wish. And then, the lodging: a tidy and most convenient, if funky (but modernized) 1940s bunkhouse all to yourself. Spacious bedroom and bath, sitting room and kitchen, deck with BBQ grill. We will return--and with pleasure.

    William2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a beautiful, quiet retreat nestled deep in the heart and soul of Carmel Valley. Rose's communication was spot on every step of the way. We saw wild turkeys, quail, cows, horses, a fox, and two chipmunks.

  • Very nice and peaceful retreat in the middle of the woods. The bunkhouse bedroom is really cozy, and we enjoyed the private deck for breakfast in the morning sun. Last but not least, Ruby the dog was a lot of fun!

    Jean-Adrien2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Charming rustic little bunkhouse, which had all the amenities we needed whilst staying in nature. We cooked outside on the bbq for our 2 night stay and it was great to be able to sit outside. Am sure when the stream is flowing, it would be even more magical. The bunkhouse is a 30 min drive to the valley shops etc so do make sure you get your provisions before arriving at Rose and Jeff’s place.

    Lesley2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Rose was a wonderful host and the place was just perfect! Such a beautiful and calming property. I was able to enjoy a great nights rest and start the day with some Yoga on the back patio surrounded by nature. Perfect place for a relaxing getaway!

  • We had a great weekend getaway at David's place. The ranch is very nicely appointed and being so close to Pinnacles National Park was invaluable; the parking inside the park fills up very quickly each day, and so being five minutes from the visitor's center makes it much easier to get a spot each morning.

    Skyler2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic home in the middle of rural California, a stone’s throw from our newest National Park. Modern, well appointed home, perfect for 2-4 folks. Fully equipped kitchen, fabulous outdoor barbeque, fire pit area. Central heat and AC, tons of out door space, warm and inviting.

    Robert2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • David provided us exactly what we were looking for. The house was spacious and the kitchen was well equipped. We didn't see anybody around the house. So quiet! The location was perfect, only 5 min away from the park entrance. David was always quick to respond. We will come back!

  • Very nice place to stay and visit the pinnacles and s t a r g a z e.

    Karinn2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at David’s place as a homebase for our Pinnacles experience. It is very conveniently located just outside the park and we were back-and-forth once or twice a day during our time there. The kitchen is spacious and well appointed for cooking dinners at home. Beds were comfy and David is a great responsive host. Recommended!

    Marcie2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed the stay so much! We cooked, spend a lot time doing the puzzle, hanged out in your gorgeous living room and enjoyed having pinnacles next door.

    Simon2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location for visiting Pinnacles National Park. The living space is much bigger than we expected; the kitchen is spacious and well-supplied. The house is surrounded by miles of beautiful grasslands with spacious outdoor areas (which, alas, we couldn't enjoy because of the rain).

    Rebecca2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This house is awesome if you're looking for some piece and quiet and privacy. Communication with the host was fast and courteous and the remote check-in a breeze. It's just minutes from Pinnacles National Park.

  • Paul and Tina were amazing! Tina was there to help us when we arrived and Paul was very helpful with making sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The place was very comfortable and made us truly feel home away from home. It was the perfect location for us, while visiting family in Marina. We were close to Monterey, and Carmel which we went to during the day. The aquarium passes were so great we went two days and did a tour as well! We will definitely be booking here again for our next family trip! Thank you guys for everything!

  • This is a perfect gathering space for a family or small group who are comfortable sharing one bathroom. Also, a great place if you have a dog because of fenced in outdoor area. We really enjoyed hanging out in the outdoor area playing Jenga! It’s nice to be out in the open space, but close enough and easy to get to Monterey to go for dinner or activities. Even better if you are attending an event at Laguna Seca Raceway, so close! We appreciated the quick responses, flexibility and easy going nature of the hosts.

Just a few miles from the east entrance of Pinnacles National Park. Enjoy the peace and quiet, lack of congestion, beautiful countryside, condors, and amazing star gazing. We have lots of games for friends and families to enjoy inside, plus foosball is located outside. There is one space heater per room. The fridge is completely available and the freezer is partially available.
This house comfortably sleeps 4 couples, with two additional twin beds.
There is no neighborhood, that's what makes us unique. Welcome to the country!
  • Hi, this house was really great for our needs and comfortably suited our group of 4 adults and 5 kids. It is not a new house, but is extremely well maintained. Visitors to Pinnacles NP should know that the East side (which has more hikes) parking lots fill up quickly on weekends and it’s best to get there early (some lots were full by 8:30 during our visit). The house’s location is perfect as it’s only 15 mins away from the trailheads.

  • We had a great time at Rebekah's house. It was well located, just outside of Pinnacles National Park. It had plenty of space for our group, and we were able to cook and eat our meals together. The fireplace was very nice and warmed up the house. Would stay again!

    Xiao2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • beautiful home and exactly what we needed for our festivities at the ranch down the road. we got to meet the owner and got a lot of local history of the area and a warm welcome. i would definitely stay here again.

    Erin2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Easy check-in, host and owner were great and approved of early arrival. Tons of space and kitchen had everything to cook for a huge fam. Mark the owner greeted us and gave us some history. Great isolated area close to Pinnacles. Truly got the job done for a hike and star gazed filled getaway.

    Elias2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We rented this place for several friends to stay during our wedding weekend at Bar SZ Ranch. It was super convenient to have them close by, and yet private enough for them to get some space when needed (for example, one family had a newborn). The house is clean and spacious, and the owners were very attentive as well.

    Anjali2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very close to Pinnacles. Easily sleeps 8, maybe 10 with 2 twins. Cool to hang out outside, there is a grill and a Foosball table.

    Kevin2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful place to stay with convenient access to Pinnacles National Park. Clean, spacious, stocked with the essentials. Contrary to what the listing says, there was no house manual to be found unless you count a few mismatched sheets of paper with duplicate information. We couldn’t figure out how to use some of the house features and had to call a couple of times for help. If you’re okay with taking time to figure things out yourself (and troubleshooting with Mike, the owner), then you’ll absolutely love the space.

    Jenna2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint comfortable ranch perfect for our stay exploring Pinnacles. TV and games for hanging out after a big day hiking. Well equipped kitchen for making meals and comfortable dining room for enjoying them. The house was a little cold but the wood fire and space heaters helped us stay cozy. We enjoyed our time at this serene ranch!

Llama Country Cottage is a quiet cottage on 10 acres. We welcome guests from all walks of life. 1 queen-size bed, 1 bath, full kitchen, decks & gorgeous views. It is off Highway #68 near Weatherteck Raceway, Carmel Valley, Monterey, Pebble Beach, Carmel, Big Sur & Salinas. Quiet & private. We have llamas! And sheep and chickens. And 2 passes to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Llama Country Cottage is a little guest house with 2 spacious rooms in Corral de Tierra. John Steinbeck referred to the area as Pastures of Heaven and wrote a book with the same name. The cottage sits above one of our pastures on 10 acres. The llamas and sheep are rotated between 2 fields and are right out the window. Yes, you can hand feed them if you want. My chickens provide farm fresh eggs and the fruit trees and vegetable garden will provide seasonal produce for your pleasure. It is private, off the main road and warmer than the coast. We have lots of Red-Shouldered Hawks as they nest on our property plus deer, quail, wild turkeys and many kinds of birds and butterflies. The cottage is set up thoughtfully so you will have a pleasant experience. A full kitchen with teas, coffee, snacks, fruit, milk, granola, basic kitchen things, etc. The cottage has a large TV with Comcast and premium channels, high-speed internet, WiFi, Apple TV, games, books, etc. There are thick robes in the closet for your use. It has electric heat and a wood stove and heated throws. You pass our little corner gourmet Corral Market & Deli on the way if you care to pick up lunch, dinner or snacks. We are a little piece of heaven in a busy world. Arrival and Check out times are very flexible so check with me.
This is California country - rolling hills and oak trees with cows and wildlife. It is close to town yet private and quiet. We have gorgeous sunrises and sunsets and usually a sky full of stars. The moon rises over the hill which is your view. Sometimes deer, wild turkeys, and rabbits.
  • Susan’s cottage was gorgeous on the outside and in. The llamas were friendly and allowed us to feed them. Everything we needed was supplied and the privacy of the property allowed us to feel more secure.

    Nickolas2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The location is amazing, the views in the morning along with the peaceful serene environment, the butterflies, birds, the llamas on the farm, everything was perfect for a weekend gateway. Small cozy cottage for two! Susan was an amazing host. The aquarium is a must visit and 2 member passes were provided by her. I will highly recommend this cottage.

    Kushal2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Susan greeted us with a smile upon arrival and gave us a personal tour of the property, introduced us to all her farm animals and gave some great suggestions on things to check out in the area. Susan has fresh eggs, homemade granola, and a slew of other lovely personal touches for our visit along with some guest passes to the Monterey bay aquarium. The property is amazing with beautiful scenery, the farm animals are adorable and friendly and Susan is a very kind and generous woman. I would highly recommend this place, my wife and I will be returning.

    Anthony2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Just imagine waking up, making a cup of coffee (or tea, etc), walking out on a back porch and being able to sit at a lovely wooden table overlooking vast green hills. That was our morning for the past two days and it was everything that we could have wanted! It was so peaceful, charming and the perfect weekend getaway. (And I can’t forget to mention being able to sit around a cozy fireplace stove with a cup of hot chocolate!) We had such a phenomenal time here. So many thoughtful amenities, lovely little touches and getting to meet the llamas and other animals on the property was so fun! Thank you Susan for having us!

    Alexandra2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I spent four magnificent nights here and enjoyed every minute. The cottage was well-stocked with food including farm fresh eggs, homemade granola, french roast coffee and more. Plenty of games, books and llama related items fill the space while multiple outdoor seating areas allow you to enjoy the outdoors. The location was perfect for quiet evenings with the fireplace going, relaxing in whatever way one enjoys. Everything we wanted to experience including great paddle boarding locations and hiking trails were an easy drive and after a long day of exercise the coziness and quiet of the cottage was ideal. I'd highly recommend this tucked away cottage and hope to return again.

    Ken 2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so cute! It’s exactly as pictured, the garden area and outdoor patios are very relaxing. There are tons of birds and your surrounded by nature. The cottage has everything you need.

    Mehnosh2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's place was really fantastic for a long weekend out of town. The location is wonderful for beautiful views of the hills and wildlife, but easy to get into Monterey or Salinas. That was all we were looking for, but on top of that we got homemade granola, fresh eggs from the chickens, an extremely usable kitchen so we cooked our meals every night, a wood burning stove for pleasant evenings in from the cold, passes to the aquarium, a ridiculously comfortable bed, and of course the llamas. Susan is an extremely kind and generous host. I think we'll have to be back next year...

Our four year old daughter loved checking on the horses, pigs, and alpacas every day and the entire staff was extremely friendly and kind. The apartment is lovely with lots of space and the setting is gorgeous. Can’t wait to come back.

  • This property is absolutely astounding. The farm is stunning, with beautiful views and lots of cute animals (including alpacas, pigs, and very cute donkey). The sparkling-clean apartment is situated directly on top of the barn - we loved the fact that you can see horses right outside the kitchen window! It is a wonderful place to stay if you're visiting the Carmel/Monterey area.

    Jessica2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Bonnie's apartment and property were both beautiful. The farm is a magical spot- full of gorgeous views and friendly animals. The apartment was spotless, and we will definitely be back.

    Elizabeth2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Apt above a barn is a little misleading because this place is amazing! There are windows that not only look out to the beautiful property but also 2 large windows that look down onto the horse stables that is immaculate, all you smell is fresh shavings and hay which to me is like parfume.....because, well I love and have horses but not in a beautifully constructed and decorated stable. This is a stable not a barn! It's hard to describe but well worth the trip to see and stay. The apt is huge with high end furniture and fixture, it's all so well done. There are Alpacas, horses, a super cute donkey (alarm clock), pot belly pigs, chickens, dogs, cats, goats....hummmmm I am missing anyone? Julia, the ranch manager is a delight to talk to and Bonnie is welcoming and easy to talk to. This is a beautiful property close to the restaurants and many winery tasting rooms of the Carmel Valley! Forget Carmel by the sea and all the crowds and stay at D'Jango farms! Oh and D'Jango is actually a darling dog on the ranch.

  • Absolutely PERFECT. I wish there were an option to give this Airbnb listing TEN STARS!!!!! It is the most wonderful, beautiful and luxurious accommodation - we did not want to leave. Bonnie and Michael have provided everything you could possibly need, and the space could not be more perfect. Wonderful amenities! Beautiful style, decoration, furniture and comfort. FAST wifi (great for us as we always need wifi for staying in touch with work). Amazingly large living space and luxurious comfort and space to enjoy and relax. Beautiful bedroom and COMFORTABLE bed!! And fantastic bathroom. Just perfect! Bonnie and Michael are FAST to help with anything needed, and always at hand with a smile if needed. (Although we didn't need anything during our stay as everything was there!) The Barn is just magic - and the animals so beautiful to see everyday. The surrounding garden and farm just a joy everyday. Truly - just perfect in every way. We will be back time and time again. Thank you Bonnie and Michael for sharing your slice of heaven with us! Best wishes, Yasmin and Michael

  • Bill and Brenda were amazing hosts. They went out of their way to make my sister and I’s stay enjoyable. Appreciated the local tips and generous hospitality. Breakfast was lovely!

  • If you're looking for a place to call home, with a delicious breakfast spread to match, then stay with Brenda and Bill. They are warm, accommodating and as a bonus, have a beautiful view from "the point" over Carmel Valley. Highly recommend as a jumping off point for exploring the Monterey, Carmel and Big Sur areas!

  • Lovely place in off-the-beaten path location. Great for getaways, relaxing, decompressing and taking in the surrounding nature and stunning views. Brenda and Bill are kind and attentive people. I enjoyed learning more about Carmel while talking with them. They gave us amazing recommendations! The breakfast was great and the homemade cookies were such a nice extra touch!

  • We had an amazing time at Mike & Bonnie's place! It was one of the best Airbnb's we ever stayed at! If you have kids: It's a no-brainer, go there! You wil haven an amazing time! But, without kids it would be amazing as well. The animals, the hospitality, the views, the area... Amazing!

    Gijsbert2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful farm with a wide variety of animals. The hosts were amazing showing us around the property and helping us feed the horses. Guest house was very homie and clean. Thank you!!

    Bryan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect weekend! Bonnie’s place is absolutely beautiful and the best maintained farm we have ever seen. The guest house offered all the comforts of home and the property itself was just stunning. We loved seeing all the animals and and especially enjoyed watching the Alpacas. Thank you for sharing your magical place with us.

    Nikki2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • As always, we enjoy our stay on the farm. The house is clean, the animals are friendly (our kids loved them), and the owners are friendly! Excellent place for families and individuals as well.

    Karina2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing farm with beautiful animals. The pictures don't do the guest house justice. It's super charming and comfy. Special shout out to Jack Anderson (the donkey). Love him! Thanks again

    Paul2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Such a special place! Accommodations are clean, beautiful and welcoming. But the best part is the animals, and the way Bonnie and her family encourage you to spend time with all the animals. My parents loved staying here!

    Cassie2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • You will not be disappointed with your stay at this chic, private farm! It is unlike anything you can imagine and you will not want to leave! By far, one of the best stays we’ve had.

    Taischa2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Bonnie was FANTASTIC!! This Air BnB was the BEST we’ve been to and her hospitality couldn’t have been any better!! The frogs chirping at night were so calming and the energy of the place and the other animals was so very special!! Central Air/Heat made it extra comfortable! We already booked next year! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! This is a MUST!

Unplug, relax and rejeuvenate in our tiny house featuring off-the-grid living with all the modern comforts amongst lavender fields in a mountain setting.
This 'tiny house' is a 400 sf mobile cabin with all the comforts of home on approximately 10 gated private acres with spectacular views, lavender fields, oak woodlands and a seasonal creek. Electricity is provided entirely by the sun from a 2k watt solar array with battery and back-up for nights and cloudy days. Water is provided to the tiny house from a private well. Hot water, the furnace and the stove and oven are supplied by propane. Take the opportunity to unplug from your screens and TV and connect with each other, paint, write, read, relax and explore. No Wi-Fi or TV or Verizon cell service. There is AT&T cell service at the property along with some other smaller carriers. The full kitchen comes complete with stove and oven, a microwave, refrigerator, some basic pots and pans, plates, glasses and flatware. There is a small dining nook for indoor eating, and a deck with table and chairs outside the entrance for outdoor dining along with a hammock for relaxing and reading. The master bedroom has a queen bed, closets, and cabinets. There is an additional sleeping loft with two twin beds. The sleeping loft ceiling is 4 feet high, so you cannot stand up, but it is high enough for comfortable sleeping. All comforters are goose down and the bed linens are organic cotton. Swing on the old fashioned rope swing, picnic under the large oak tree, relax with your sweetie in the hammock or skip stones and/or take a dip in the seasonal stream at the entrance gate.
You will pass through the quaint Carmel Valley Village with fine dining, cafes, award winning wineries, art galleries, shops, gas, groceries, and other services. Continue another 20 minutes along a lovely country winding road to our property. Carmel-by-the-Sea and it's beaches is another 25 minutes away (45 minutes total) and Andrew Molera State Park at the north end of Big Sur is a spectacular one hour and fifteen minute drive away. Continue past our property about 7 miles up Tassajara Road to the China Camp trail head with trails to the Ventana Wilderness that reach all the way to the Big Sur Coast. Continue another 7 miles on the spectacular but very rugged road to the Tassajara Zen Center and Hot Springs where they welcome day guests during the guest season (April - September). Please visit the San Francisco Zen Center website for more information about this resource. Another option is to take a shuttle. We are about one-half mile below the parking area where you can catch a shuttle to the Zen Center and Hot springs.
  • Amazing private wooded adventure with beautiful views of the mountain and relatively close to Monterrey and Route 1!

  • Very nice getaway in a beautiful and quiet environment. The Tiny House is very comfortable and fully equipped. In the morning we were visited by two deer. If we are in the surrounding again, we would definitely come back.

    Karen2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Camas' Tiny House is a special place. It truly feels like a miniature house in the middle of nature, with a beautiful hammock outside, deer right in the woods nearby, and a serene place to get away with a loved one. Yet, it's modern and has all the amenities you are looking for. It's great for a couple or a whole family, and the area surrounding it is beautiful, with hikes, yoga classes, and beautiful vistas on offer. I truly recommend the stay!

  • We had a wonderful, quiet weekend away at the cabin. It's a beautiful location and very peaceful. We'd be happy to stay here again.

  • This is one of my best AirBNB stays I have ever experienced. I stayed for a month & I felt cared for, safe & absolutely Loved the cottage! The entire property was kept in excellent condition & they work hard to keep it that way. They go above & beyond in all areas. If I needed anything, it was handled right away. Kaleb greeted me when I arrived. He was so thoughtful & was always available when I reached out even at early or late hours. I also had an excellent experience with Margaret & Steve. The whole family made sure that my stay was perfect. I enjoyed daily 2 mile walks on the property & it was nice to be offered passes to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. One night there was a power outage at 11:30pm, due to a PG&E issue to 153 homes, and Kaleb offered to bring lighting. Like I mentioned before, always above & beyond in every way. I highly recommend this adorable AirBNB & I plan to stay again in the near future.

  • This is an amazing a place to come visit. Really enjoyed the cottage and property. The cottage was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had all the necessities to cook, like salt, pepper, oil, plates, pots, etc! We enjoyed sitting in the front porch with coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. The bed was SUPER comfortable and the bathroom awesome (huge shower and jacuzzi tub!) The property was also great! We hiked around with cowes and our dog ran around like crazy so happy to be off leash and free for a couple of days from city life. The hosts were amazing: friendly, responsive, and accomodating. I have already recommended to friends and I hope to come back again!

  • This was the perfect place for our crew to spend a few nights. The host was very accommodating!

    Jodie2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is incredible all thanks to a wonderful host. Kaleb is running a great operation and his passion shows through. The location is a beautiful 40 minute drive from Monterey but is well worth it. We loved the complimentary aquarium passes the ranch offers as well. Our family can’t wait to visit again!

  • My family had a wonderful Christmas in the mountains of Carmel. Big beautiful bright house with lots of windows. Plenty of space so people could have privacy or come together as a group. Quiet and relaxing setting. Lots of kitchen supplies to cook with. I I think they use propane so it took a lot longer for the water to boil. Took me a while to figure out there was no garage door, I was trying to find the button to close it LOL. Once we got there we never left for three days. It was a perfect holiday in a beautiful home. He was very quick to respond to my questions while we were there. The Wi-Fi is slow so if you’re watching Netflix the movie takes a while to reload in the middle. It did keep everybody off their phones which was exactly what I was hoping for!

    T2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • amazing house Amazing, if it ’s not because of the road, I will definitely stay a few more nights, it is too beautiful, it is necessary to open the mountain road, there are many sharp bends, it is relatively steep, if it is winter, it will be a bit dangerous, but you see the house and think everything is worth it

    2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • This home is awesome once you get to the house. It is just as spectacular as the pictures show the home to be. The other reviews are accurate in that you need to stop and buy whatever food and drink that you will need, before you head out on Carmel Valley Road. There is a Lucky's just as you turn onto Carmel Valley Road that has everything you need. Don't expect to use GPS to find the home, print out and rely on Daniels 9 page directions that are sent to you. If there is any negative about the home, is that the final 4.3 mile drive once you turn off Carmel Valley Road, is a very winding, switch back road, that is often pretty narrow. It is difficult to see around turns, and there are a number of tree trimming trucks, and neighbors that you will encounter as you drive. The home is great and very peaceful with great views of the valley. But you need to keep in mind, that you probably need to end your day in Monterey by about 4, to get to the house by 5, before it is dark. Daniel is a very good host, and is responsive to your emails. I would encourage renters to buy duraflame logs to start a fire, and hardwood logs to continue the fire, which are available at all the grocery stores in the area. The fireplace is the centerpiece of the living room, and very enjoyable for your evenings to relax in this gorgeous home.

  • Rebecca is a super responsive, helpful, and accommodating hostess. She agreed to prepare the house with very little notice, and we were very grateful. Furthermore, we were thrilled with the space and its excellent location in Monterey County. The home is private with gorgeous outdoor spaces, and of course, the winery is a fun addition!

    Amy2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Cute house right next to the Pessagno Winery. We appreciated the sparkling clean wood floors and full kitchen.

    Clay2020-01-20T00:00:00Z

  • It is a lovely setting very cozy with everything you need for a comfortable stay near to pinnacles. Nice to wake up early to see the sunrise as you walk by the vineyard drinking your coffee. We had a bottle of Pinot Noir waiting for us after a great hike that was nice. There are two ways to get to pinnacles if you listen to Siri she’ll send you through Old Gloria road this is a very long winding dirt road very beautiful scenery but much better to go through king city 101 S take bitter water rd (CR-G13) to 25 to get to east side that’s where the hikes are in my opinion

    Mirna2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying and it was just as great as the first time. It had everything we needed and a great quiet location. The wine is also amazing at this winery! We can’t wait to stay here again!

    Peter2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our mid week stay with our two young children and French bulldog. Place was spotless and so serene. The enclosed outdoor area made us feel comfortable letting them explore on their own a little bit. So nice to get a bottle from the tasting room - it was a true pleasure to stay at Highlands house. Rebecca was fantastic, accommodating and so quick to respond. We will be back!

    Dorothy2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed two nights at Rebecca’s house while visiting Pinnacles NP. The house is adorable and as advertised. Winery setting is lovely. Kitchen is stocked with necessities — we appreciated the Keurig (with plenty of coffee to go with it!). Also enjoyed the complimentary bottle of Pinot from the winery. Just a few minutes from Gonzales where there are groceries and restaurants; we had a great dinner at Luigi’s. We wrapped up our trip with a tasting at the winery — super friendly staff and tasty reds. Note there’s no route through the park so it takes over an hour to drive to the more popular eastern entrance from this home. We took the shorter northern route there and it was not ideal — 10 miles of windy narrow dirt roads. The southern route is 40 miles longer, all highways, and only took 8 additional minutes. 30 minutes to the western entrance (an easy, lovely drive on good roads) which we actually enjoyed more. Saw several condors and the views of the rocks are phenomenal. Both entrances have easy hikes through the caves.

  • Rod’s place is great, tucked pretty far away from the city but that’s what we were looking for. Super quiet, and beautiful views. We arrived late, but Rod stocked the place with food so luckily we had plenty to eat. Comfortable beds, nice amenities and privacy. Rod was very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. We loved it here!

    Rachel2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Rod's place is a super scenic little cabin high in the mountains near Carmel Valley Village. It's a great place to hang on the deck, bbq and star watch, and a good jumping off point for area hikes and sightseeing. Perfect for two couples, a few friends, or a family. Rod is super easy to communicate with and the cabin is well-stocked with food, games, and activities. I would say that you'd be super well advised to check in before sundown. It's a windy mountain road to get up to Rod's place. But we just brought food in to eat; Carmel Valley Village has a number of great places to get carry out and sandwiches if you don't want to deal with cooking. (Grapevine esp). Waking up to those fews and seeing stars without light pollution is well worth it.

    Clara2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The bunkhouse is a little gem. It is secluded and the surrounding scenery is great. It is quaint and has everything needed for a stay. Cooking on the grill on the deck was also special. We used the bunkhouse as a base to visit locations on the coast, and it was great to escape the crowds up into the hills at the end of each day. Rod was a great host, and he communicated quickly and clearly.

    Benjamin2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot, Rod is an excellent host. Lots to do on the farm and it’s absolutely gorgeous.

  • Rod's Airbnb Bunkhouse is a treasure. A little off the beaten path, it's nestled in a vineyard and perfect for a weekend getaway. My friends and I enjoyed having coffee out on the patio, grilling outdoors, and stargazing. The Airbnb was clean, cozy, and had everything you need for a weekend with friends.

    Megan2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience. Good base to explore the region. Heaps to do on the property, walks, BB guns, archery, watching the sunset over the vineyard with a glass of wine etc etc. Accomodation was comfortable and we had everything we could possibly need. Rod was a great host with plenty of local knowledge and handy tips.
