  • You will, not regret the stay. Great spot

  • Our only regret about staying with Charmaine was that we didn't stay longer! She was a superb host and made us feel at home. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were crisp, which made getting into bed an almost dream-like experience. The house was easy to find and the location was quiet with beautiful rural scenery. Charmaine's home was spotless. She provided many thoughtful touches, including bottled water, coffee/tea and a lovely continental breakfast. Thanks, Charmaine. We miss you already!

    Carolyn (Carrie)2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Charmaine is the quintessential host. Her home is gorgeous, beautifully positioned on top of a hill overlooking Killarney. Sunset and sunrise is magnificent. Everything was as described even better. Guests have a private section of her home with a very comfortable bed and spotlessly clean bathroom amenities. We took her up on her generous dinner offer which was a two course heartily delicious meal. Her ginger pudding is to die for. Charmaine's conversational skills and geninue warmth are her forte. We felt so at home almost instantaneously. She also made our dog Digger very welcome. We highly recommend a stay at her gorgeous home and hope to visit again.

    Megan2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed with Charmaine for a few days at the suggestion of a work colleague. The stay was sensational, very friendly and supportive of my work demands. I’m staying in Killarney for 6 weeks and I have chosen to stay with Charmaine for all that time. The good old fashioned country hospitality is truely family like.

    Glenn2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful outlook over the town of Killarney and nearby farms. A very peaceful place to stay, with Charmaine being a great host, with a very tasty added extra option of a home cooked meals I can thoroughly recommend!

    Carolyn2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Charmaine is wisest woman I have ever met. Not only does she provide comfortable accommodation for my family, but she also gives me warm suggestions for my life. Be happy is what I have learned from her. Thanks a lot.

  • Rhondda is the most fabulous host! So friendly and accommodating. Her place has so much charm, we loved that it was a historic house, with beautiful gardens, and geese, chooks, sheep, a couple of gorgeous cows and dogs were much adored by our toddler. Highly recommend a weekend stay to enjoy the surrounding area of Killarney.

    Rebecca2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay with Rhondda and Phil. Their house is very nice, well located close to the Main Range National park and its falls in quiet Killarney. Rhondda and Phil are very welcoming and thoughtful, and they love to chat.

  • We had a lovely time staying with Rhondda and Phil who were very welcoming a warm hosts. Our two little boys (2&4) loved the animals and chatting to Rhondda and Phil. A stunning spot on the back deck to have a drink and a chat and watch the sun go down over the hills.

    Amanda2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Rhondda brought out the best in each of my children. Her and Phil were so welcoming and accepting. Breathtaking country side, the kids shared memories the whole way home. We are counting down the days until we can return.

    Kelly2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts R&P are just amazing, gracious, humble humans who made our group feel like part of the family from the moment we arrived. The layout of their beautiful abode allows for privacy should guests wish to have their own sanctuary out by the front wrap around deck and enjoy the views or hang out in the common living areas such as by the fire in the lounge room or the spacious kitchen. It was the perfect stay for young families. Clean fresh country air and adorable geese, chooks, sheep and highland cattle! Not to mention two friendly furpanions - Banjo and Razza. Best of all were the hosts. They’ve redefined country hospitality. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful Whole Farmhouse in the Condamine Gorge near Killarney and Queen Mary Falls. Great place for families to be families without TV and WIFI. Lots of swings in trees, creeks, gentle cows in paddocks, outdoor and indoor fireplaces with spectacular views up and down the gorge. Located in the beautiful Scenic Rim under two hours drive from Brisbane. There is also currently no mobile reception (plus for some, negative for others!), but there is a free landline phone.
The house has four bedrooms with enough beds to sleep 10 people. There is also a large central space with two couches that can sleep another 2 people, and heaps of space for more camping beds etc if you have them. It is a fantastic place for large family get togethers. The linen and towels are all up there with the beds all made up. There is also an outside undercover firepit with cooking plates and camp ovens, a modern BBQ with wokburner and indoor fires. Firewood is included and stacked on the verandah ready to go. Outside is the magnificent Condamine Gorge, and large flat lawn areas for kids to play soccer and cricket. Pets and horses are welcome. The drive from Brisbane is via Boonah and is simply beautiful the whole way, it sets the tone for a wonderfully scenic getaway.

  • All the positive comments from previous reviews tell the story. Friendly animals, good comms with host, lots of thoughtful touches such as flowers, wine, chocolates, etc. It was very hot outside when we arrived but house was quite cool. Ceiling fans in all the bedrooms very helpful. I’d suggest that if you go in summer, use the BBQ for meals and plan accordingly. There was a total fire ban this weekend, so no campfire, and the wood stove in kitchen would make the house too hot. (No other oven or hotplates in kitchen). We had delicious meals on the BBQ- roast lamb leg, rosemary potatoes (using rosemary from the garden) and salad. Kitchen is well equipped. Lovely location, perfect for a relaxing weekend.

Restored 90 year old farm building separate from house overlooking the McPherson Ranges and Mount Barney on a 17 acre farm block with animals. Great place to stay if you are walking Mt Barney, Mt May or Mt Maroon - 40 mins drive north. The cottage can accommodate 3 people using a queen bed and a trundle bed (extra $15/night). The cottage runs on solar power (off the grid); gas cooktop; gas hot water; septic toilet; tank water and wood heater. Dean's shed is overflowing with stories and harness.
Our 17 acre block is just a couple of minutes walk from Woodenbong, a small rural village in northern NSW, 2 hrs south of Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Being in the country we don't have access to all of the telecommunication providers that the majority of Australians have in the city and living on the coast. However, we are served by Telstra so if you have a Telstra account you can use your mobile phone, laptop, ipad here. We have access to a wi-fi - ask for the password (charges may apply). Our advice is to disconnect from the city and reconnect with the country.
Woodenbong is a small rural village and it was founded to support the growth of the timber industry and the pastoral industry. In the village there is a hotel, a 24 hour Mobil driveway, a chemist, a newsagency, a hardware store, a grocery shop, a real estate agency, a panel beating service, engineering services, a take away shop and Linda's Pitstop (coffee and food), a bus service to Kyogle, Casino and Lismore, a Pre School and a K-12 Woodenbong Central school. We also have access to a Hospital, doctor's surgery and ambulance service in Urbenville (12kms from Woodenbong).
  • Kim and Dean have done a wonderful job! A gorgeous little self contained cottage with everything you could possibly need. Such great value for money! Thank you for having us!

    Bron2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kim’s place is really magical. Kim gave my kids carrots to feed Ellie the horse. The cabin is lovely and cosy. One has to be prepared for off the grid living which means watching timing of use for toasters, kettles, use of hot water etc. They were accommodating to have a generator running when we needed as an overcast day meant limited solar energy. Kim also gave us a special offer so we could ‘sneak’ out booking in for a brief overnight stay. She has put lots of thought into it. We also enjoyed the board games she provides in the room.

  • Great place, nice and quiet

    Robert2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. Kim and Dean are lovely people and I'd go back anytime.

    Antoine2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a view, what a view, what a view! Sitting out on the verandah immediately outs you in relaxed holiday mode watching the animals and listening to the birds. The cabin has a wonderful aspect over the surrounding hills and catches the local breezes to keep the place cool. What a wonderful little gem, I will stay here next time I am in Woodenbong (I’ll be eagerly trying to think of an excuse to come back soon)

    Heather2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Charming cottage and stunning location

    Haitham2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is a repurposed farm building which has been well decorated with a super comfortable bed, beautiful timber touches and retaining original infrastructure - one of a kind! It is nice and close to town with a beautiful outlook. Woodenbong is close to several national parks including Mount Barney and border ranges so is the perfect place for hikers to stop and explore the area. We really enjoyed watching the local wildlife and visits from Ellie the horse whilst sitting on the back deck.

    Renee2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We so enjoyed our time at Kim’s place. The peace and quiet from a hassle of city life was just what we were after, and we were not disappointed. The bed was extremely comfortable , and every thing you could need was there. Thanks Kim and dean for a great experience

Unfortunately due to COUNCIL restrictions imposed with all Airbnb hosts in the area, I am forced to obtain Rezoning on my property. Prior to August 2019 this was not a requirement with council if you had under 5 guests stay. There is nothing I can do at the present time. They tell me if I book the property with long term tenant they do not require me to rezone the property. As a result I have had to block out availability however, if you are requiring long term rental then please contact me.
Charming old Queenslander, with a newly renovated private flat that adjoins my home (under the same roof). The flat is completely self contained and at the back of the house with private entrance - views of the mountains from kitchen window and lounge overlooks courtyard and more mountain views. It has a living room with a day bed (single bed), double bedroom, built in robe, fully functional kitchen, large amenities room consisting of shower, separate WC, vanity and laundry facilities. Set on half an acre in the township of Killarney just a short 5 minute stroll. No under cover parking but plenty of parking off street. The property is suitable for short to long term rental (3 month rental or more) - ideal for a contractor who is working in the area and requires an alternative to living in a motel or pub. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need to cook your own meals. Large pantry, plenty of cupboard space (linen) and wardrobe.
Enjoy a meal at the local Hotel. Perfect location for exploring Queen Mary Falls only 10 mins drive away, walk to the local township for lunch or dinner at the Killarney Hotel or the local bowls club. Visit 2 Art galleries in town. A 20 minute drive to Warwick and the famous annual "Jumpers & Jazz" festival in July, explore Stanthorpe an easy 45 min drive away. Killarney has so much to explore with its natural beauty and renowned for its bird life. Bushwalking, trail bike riding there is a lot to do here. As my property is in residential Killarney, I would ask for visitors to respect the neighbours and be mindful of noise levels after 10pm. In other words - we dont do loud parties here :) I hope you understand. It is best suited for a couple or single people who simply need a place to relax and sleep at the end of a day exploring.
  • Quirky comfortable outpost. Very different but had everything we needed and more

    Stu2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Eve’s BnB was absolutely amazing. It’s more than we could have hoped for during our stay in Killarney. We had no plans for the stay other then a wedding but ended up visiting a few local tourist spots thanks to the info guide in the flat. I loved the simple things like continental breakfast and picnic basket that most places we have been too haven’t offered. Everything was so clean and new too. Thanks for having us Eve :)

    Alana2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • It's a lovely, little, self contained unit built into the back of Eve's home. It was very comfortable for two, it might be a bit small for any more than that. The weather was very cold, but the unit was cosy and warm, and the bed was very comfortable. It was a great place for us to stay- we could explore the wineries on one day, and then the national parks and waterfalls with a scenic drive the next day. We had a fantastic weekend, and this little unit was a great place to do it from.

  • Great location, walking distance into town whilst being off the main road. Eve's house is in a quiet street, we were there during one of their hottest spells, but there was a cool breeze in the evening. Eve's unit had just finished being renovated with quality fixtures., no skimping on linen and towels, there is even a washing machine in the unit. The kitchen was well stocked with useful implements and appliances. There was heaps to chose from for breakfast, including fresh seasonal fruit. Close to Warwick and Stanthorpe and all that they have to offer whilst enjoying the advantages of a country lifestyle. Eve was a wonderful and friendly host, greeting us when we arrived, she made us feel most welcome. Her home has a lovely feel about it. We will certainly be staying with Eve again next time we are in the area.

Welcome to Balcone Sunflower Apartment. We offer a cute and quaint apartment in the Balcone Homestead. You have your own 1 bedroom apartment consisting of 1 Queen size bedroom, lounge room, kitchen, bathroom and separate toilet with towels, shampoo, conditioner for your convenience. The apartment is air-conditioned and we also offer laundry facilities on the property. Private access and will be provided with your own unique access code for your stay. Balcone is also fully self contained.
Established in Allora in 1898 as a one story dwelling by the McKenzie family. Raised and refurbished in 1906 by Mr Munro and used as a boarding house after adding the bottom storey. After Tattersalls Hotel burnt to the ground Balcone was dismantled board by board and re-built in its present location. In the early 19th Century, after the war, during the depression the balconies were filled in to accommodated more guests (unfortunately selling off all the lace balcony charm). Today it's situated close to the centre of Warwick and in easy walking distance to the main street, Palmerin Street, and the city venues. This makes it ideal for your stay.
Warwick is a beautiful country town with so much History. It boast many lovely eateries and venues to dine, offering old country cuisine. There is also many large chain stores (Woolworths, Coles, McDonald's, Big W, Target). There are many festivals and markets, Local art gallery, Historic steam train, Heritage houses and Buildings of our yester year, Quirky speciality shops and shopping all with in walking distance to Balcone.
  • Great cottage close to everything in Warwick. Lovely hosts who made sure we were ok when we arrived home late after a big days hiking. Thankyou :)

    Claire2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • The only hiccup is public transport to Warwick in and out is poor. I had to pay privately for someone to pick me up from Ipswich to Warwick that cost me $150 and a $100 to get back to Brisbane or I would of missed my plane. There is the movies shops and you could walk every where it's a quiet town so you hardly see or hear any one. The stars at night are the prettiest and the air is clean and there is space. The building is old but the unit is spotless with host helping me as much as he could do. If I needed him he was there in a flash. The bed is comfortable and you get in and out using a code. I had towels clean sheets TV and all kitchen utensils so if I wanted to cook I could. You only have to walk into town its not far. What would stop me going backpyblic transport in and out of Warwick is poor if your catching planes but if your driving go see Warwick and chill a great place to unwind if you need a break a cheap alternative to a resort its private quiet and a bit like going back in time .

  • Barry is a warm and generous host and I had an awesome time at his place! I came down for the rodeo but I would have loved to just stay at the farm anyway, it was a relaxing getaway from the city. Barry welcomed me with tea and interesting conversation, cooked dinner and made delicious fry-ups for brekky. He even invited me to come along to see one of his horses race at Toowoomba. I "learned how to lose 5 bucks" haha. Thanks for a great experience!

  • Barry's farm is an authentic Aussie farm stay experience. Barry is a fantastic host and he went out of his way to make sure we were looked after. His house is an old country style house with high ceilings and a traditional style. It's not an ultra modern palace that some people might want.. rather, its a genuine slice of old style aussie heritage and hospitality... Barry is a lovely man a pleasure to have met. We will definitely come back next year! Thanks Barry!

  • I was pleasantly surprised at my stay for the weekend. Everything was really clean and tidy and I had towels and shower gel on my bed waiting for me :) also a large bottle of water and a glass on the bed side table. Bed was super comfortable and shower was great :) plenty of street parking outside for my car and was within walking distance to the Showgrounds for the rodeo. Vicki was really easy to get along with and we had a big chat and she was very quick with online responses before I arrived. Check in and out was easy and I couldn’t have been happier with everything. If I’m ever back in Warwick il definitely be looking for this air bnb again 💕

  • A lovely country gentleman on a property with a spectacular view, very peaceful place to stay.

    Jasmine2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • The hospitality given at this property was nothing less than the reviews I read_awesome. I had high expectations given all the reviews were high and it was definitely met. Unfortunately I only stayed 1 night and we got in quite late after getting lost, but Bruce made us feel at home and I really enjoyed the personal additions he made which I've never had as I have never done air bnb. I thought it would be uncomfortable staying at a random house but this was not how I felt when I was there. I recommend Bruce's residence highly for those wanting more out of their farm experience. The place was well kept and homey.

    Regan2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Bruce is an amazing host - it’s like meeting an old friend. He is warm, friendly and very hospitable and the place just feels like home. We very much enjoyed sitting outside taking in the views with our cheese and wine. A great place to relax and use as a base to explore the other surrounding towns.

    Trish2019-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Bruce is a fantastic host, the facilities and the picturesque location was wonderful.

    Daryn2019-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place to stay. Bruce is friendly and a super host. The stars are amazing. Lovely comfortable beds too

    Liz2019-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • 10/10 recommended! Bruce’s place is the perfect place to stay for a get-away-from-the-city-life trip. It is clean, nice and has everything you need, all amenities, all appliances. Bruce is very friendly, thoughtful and fun. If you want to get the local information, he is the best person to talk to! He will give you the best travel advice. Also, he is full of amazing experience and stories as well as a good company. I had a lovely time staying at Bruce’s. When I looked up to the sky at night, it was a complete open view with the Milky Way. I saw the orange moon raising from the horizon, I saw shooting stars, I saw the beauty of nature. When I woke up in the morning, cool breeze was blowing through even it was hot summer and cattle were wandering around, eating grass. I also had a taste of Aussie farm life. If you are looking for a nice place to stay near Warwick/ Main Range National Park for a relaxing time, look no further. :)

Situated on a small acreage, overlooking farmland on the outskirts of Maryvale, half way between Brisbane and the Stanthorpe Wineries and with sweeping views of the Goonburra Valley, Ombu is the perfect base to explore the Scenic Rim and Southern Downs, or chill and watch the wild life and gaze at the Milky Way. Only 10 minutes from Cunninghams Gap and Main Range National Park walks. A short walk to the historic Crown Hotel.
Open plan Lounge, Dining and Kitchen. Sweeping views through large bi-fold doors, allow easy viewing of birds and wildlife. Nesting boxes for the Rosella's and Red Rumped parrots ensuring regular visits from these delightful birds. A local bird enthusiast tells me he has spotted close to 150 different bird species. There are usually Swamp wallabies on the back lawn in the evenings and early mornings and there is a spotlight provided for nocturnal wildlife spotting. Ombu is also far enough away from the city lights to view the Milky Way clearly. Retro furnishings. Ceiling fans and a pot belly stove.
Maryvale is a small town just over an hour and a half from Brisbane. We have a Pub, The historic Crown Hotel. Just 5 minutes up the road is Bestbrook Mountain Resort with Horse rides, farm tours and a restaurant. Next door to there is Gap Creek Moto where there are a range of motor bike activities for children and adults. Spicers Peak Resort is a 25 minute drive to truly spectacular views, a day spa, five star restaurant and walking trails. Just 10 minutes to Main Range National Park and Scenic Rim Walking trails. 25 minutes to Warwick. If you are bringing food supplies, there is a good fruit and vegetable market, Bakery and butcher on the highway at Aratula (before you cross the range). In the kitchen there is a Bullet, a bench top oven, Espresso Coffee machine, Peculator, stove top Espresso, a milk creamer (for latte), Toaster, Jug, Microwave & Sous Vie, Various pots and pans and serving dishes and implements to orchestrate them with. Otherwise the Crown Hotel does a very reasonable and tasty meal and only a 10 minute walk.
  • We had such a lovely experience for an overnight stay. Eclectic and cozy home with every thing you could want. So peaceful 🌿 and perfect to reflesh the soul. Thanks so much Suzy

  • Big, quiet and quaint, we a very brief stay is this place. From the moment you walk through the door it felt like home. There is lot of interesting item around the house that put that homely touch to the stay. Wish we had more time in our travel to chill out relax and read a book or two.

    Robert2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • At Ombu you will be delighted by the eclectic mix of furnishings and artwork. Suzy’s creative flair and design sensibility are obviously testament to the interior fit out. What a gorgeous welcoming property. Inside and outside had plenty of places to sit and ponder. A really lovely retreat. You will be treated with breakfast ( fresh farm eggs) and bacon and fresh milk... chocolates to spoil as well. Suzys home is sparkling clean and tidy and has everything you would need for a short or long stay. We welcomed the ceiling fans although the breezes sweep through this elevated property as well. The bathroom and toilet facilities are fabulous with plenty of fluffy towels and washers for your use. Ombu: An absolute country gem with character and outstanding amenities!!!

'Sixteen minutes north of Stanthorpe at the beginning of the wine trail, but miles from the hustle and bustle, The Bonsai Cottage is nestled amongst granite boulders and offers the perfect location for a getaway to do as little or as much as you’d like. The Bonsai Cottage is suitable for singles or couples and is set in developing gardens that includes a bonsai collection of more than thirty miniature trees. Please note that we only supply firewood during the winter months.

  • Beautiful, clean and comfortable place to stay !! :)

    Renee2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Geraldeen and David’s Bonsai Cottage has the distinction of being the first AirBNB I have ever gone back to a second time - and with good reason! It’s an excellent place to stay - the cottage is five-star, beautifully appointed and immaculately clean. And the surrounding property and gardens provide a beautiful, relaxed country atmosphere. The kitchen has plenty of space with a proper oven and gas cooktop. And then there’s the local goodie samples, breakfast is included, and even some homemade soup in the freezer. This is definitely one of the nicest (and the best-value!) places to stay in the entire Stanthorpe-Warwick region!

    Rachel2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Bonsai Cottage was amazing it was so beautiful and peaceful and was a wonderful escape for me and my partner. The little personal touches that Geraldeen put in was great the cheese platter, jams, fruit and breakfast goodies was really nice. We will be back again

  • We stayed two nights at Bonsai cottage. The communication prior was faultless and Geraldeen and David gave us a warm welcome on arrival. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay. We appreciated the quiet location and wildlife. With Stanthorpe, wineries and Donnelly’s Castle (rock formations) being just a short drive made this a great location for us.

On the Southern Downs, in the Granite Belt approximately 11km north of Stanthorpe is the small township of 'The Summit". Situated on Valley View Farm, this is your home base to enjoy what this area is famous for.
Room to spread out in this two bedroom cottage. Not a new build but fresh and clean and channeling a vintage vibe. One or two bedrooms available (depending on your booking requirements) and the rest of the space is yours. The cottage has a fully enclosed yard in the front. It also has a front patio and a back outdoor barbecue area for outside relaxing. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, microwave and full size upright stove/oven combo (no dishwasher) and laundry facilities. Outdoors you have a full size tennis court and pavilion as well as the basket ball hoop. This building started life as an office when the property used to be a strawberry farm nearly twenty years ago. Now Valley View is a small working farm 1.33km off the New England Highway, on the Qld/NSW border. There are four houses situated within walking distance of each other. Your accommodation is private, but not secluded as you are likely to see/hear other people during your stay. As this is a farm there are some farm animals about. The cottage is at ground level for the back entrance but has three steps in the front. A large fenced yard is provided for your pet to enjoy. (Approx 15 x 20 m)
The Summit is an area of wineries, cafes and boutique shops. On the South side of Stanthorpe you will find - Summit Estate and Heritage wineries Suttons apple orchard is only 1km away and Castle Glen brewery, Jersey Girls Cheese factory, Granite Belt Maze, Law Dogs Australia, The Truffle Experience, The Christmas Farm, Donaly’s Castle and great fruit shops. Further away, past Stanthorpe, you will find places selling jams, chillies, olives, berries, fudge, chocolates among other things. About a half hour drive will find you near Girraween National Park and Wallangarra on the Qld/NSW border. The information bureau in town on the left after Quart Pot Creek bridge is excellent for information as is the website - southerndownsandgranitebelt followed by the usual.
  • Vicki and Trevors place is spacious and very comfortable, it reminded me of my Grandmother’s home with eclectic collection of well kept “old” furniture . The queen bed was really comfortable with beautiful linens. Well stocked with supplies you need I.E.: condiments , tea , liquid soap and shampoo and even a new toothbrush if you forget your own.Loved the addition of warm dressing gowns to wear with the unexpected cool change. The fireplace was a real bonus also. There are lovely areas to sit outside. The house is situated at northern end of the region with a large fruit shop, the apple juice shed and good wineries nearby. Loved our short visit .

    Dan2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Immaculate inside & out, so very peaceful, beautiful linen, all the comforts & a short drive to Stanthorpe. We took our ‘mature’ Mums & border collie & we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Vicki was quick & easy to communicate with & directions to the property were excellent for weary travellers arriving at night. Well deserving of Superhost status. Thank you Vicki & Trevor.

  • The Silky Oak Cottage is beautiful - picture perfect from the outside and cosy inside. It was an excellent base for a relaxed weekend in Stanthorpe. The fire was a lovely amenity on a cold wet evening! The cottage is within an easy walk of the centre of Stanthorpe and is close to the start of the bike trail to Ballandean. Debbie was great to deal with and I would highly recommend.

    Phil2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We would recommend Silky Oak Cottage to any couple looking for a peaceful getaway in a tasteful ambience. Debbie responded promptly to our queries. The cottage is sparkling clean.

    Peter2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend. A beautiful cottage and very thoughtful touches by the host (e.g. even had breakfast items provided like bacon, eggs etc).

    Matthew2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage and surroundings, close to town, can walk anywhere. We had a great time there

    Callum2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • An amazingly cute cottage, inside and out. Perfect for our romantic getaway. We didn't get an opportunity to use the fireplace, but will do so on our next visit to Stanthorpe. Very convenient location, a short walk from an amazing restaurant down the road called Anna's (bookings required). A little further down the road is a creek with lovely pathways for walks in the early morning and late afternoon. Birds, friendly locals walking their dogs, and a cool bridge are things you are likely to encounter/see. Debbie's cottage is in a great location for those wanting the convenience of staying close to town.

    Kelly2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Debbie’s cottage is tastefully designed, spotlessly clean and well appointed for that special weekend away. The cottage is conveniently located with a short walk into Stanthorpe. Debbie responds quickly to emails/texts and makes your stay super easy to organize.

    Claire2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication, Debbie was happy to accommodate our extra requests. The cottage was very cute and had everything you needed. Allowing dogs is a massive win for us! We stayed just after the fires in Stanthrope and Debbie was very helpful leading up to the visit with our concerns. If anyone is having doubts about visiting Stanthrope because of the fires and drought - it is actually the perfect time. The locals need your support and everything is still open and operating.

    Cassie2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem of a place in Stanthorpe! It’s cozy and I wouldn’t attempt the spiral stairs alone after a few glasses of wine, but that would be my only proviso for future guests. It’s beautifully intimate and stunningly presented, with lovely little touches. Being quite a romantic setup - inside and out - I look forward to returning when it’s colder with a plus one and staying for more than one night. Debbie was a dream to deal with. Even though we didn’t meet face to face, she was very responsive before, during, and even after my stay. We really need to support this area. Local businesses are dying with the prolonged drought and now, of course, the fires.

To look out over the fields early morning to the hills is divine and the old schoolhouse itself so homely. Brilliant for three couples or family of six. All the best Dianne.

  • Wonderful relaxing weekend Warm comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen as we cooked the local produce we purchased Garden was great, fully fenced, dog exhausted from exploring. So relaxing watching the autumn leaves falling. Plenty of room for all

  • Dianne’s place is a delight. We felt so privileged to be in a space where one could explore the entire time. It is a step back in time with comfy beds, old fashioned roses, a fragrant herb garden, fully gauzed verandahs to sit in a wicker chair and flip through the many beautiful books while sipping tea from a china pot, (complete with chook tea cosy)! We even had a yarn with the neighbour over the back fence about his farm. We loved the modern kitchen that looked retro and also the clean and stylish bathrooms. Beneath the nostalgia and country charm was good internet, heating, a dishwasher and a large tv though- so everyone could stay in touch with work and school in comfort. If you’re searching for a sleek, smicko- minimalist house to spend the weekend, don’t pick this one. She is a grand dame with lots of love and a peek into the past.

  • Jodie and her Dad were amazing hosts. We had to cancel a day due to personal circumstances but Jodie did not mind at all. Check in was easy and the place was much more than we thought it would be. Perfectly clean and so comfortable. We hope to come back to Stanthorpe and spend longer there and will look no further than this air bnb.

  • The place is very neat and clean. The inside of the cottage looks fairly new renovated, complete with gas stove & oven, electric kettle & microwave and air-conditioning in the bedroom. Due to our time constraint we stayed there for one night only. Great stay, better than I expected.
