Places to stay in Kihei
This B&B is in a quiet, safe, residential neighborhood in Kihei where average rainfall is 12-1/2 inches per year, and the closest beach--Keawakapu Beach--is a 5-min drive away. The Niu Studio has 2 twin beds that can make a king-size bed. This studio can only accommodate 2 people.
  • Expect to never want to leave! As if beautiful Maui wasn’t spectacular enough, Chuck and Susan will make you feel right at home! Our room was spotlessly clean. The accommodations were comfortable and stylish. I really appreciated the spare toiletries in the bathroom for the few things I forgot, and having access to a washer/dryer and detergent was very convenient. They provided everything we needed for beach time including, chairs, towels, coolers and snorkel gear. Chuck was a wealth of knowledge about the island, and we had access to a plethora of guides and info about activities on the island. Susan’s daily baked goods in the morning are absolutely delicious. The location is perfect. Close to everything in Kihei and the Wailea-Makena area, the house is in a quiet, secluded neighborhood. Between the incredible location, generous hospitality of the hosts, and practical amenities, this place can’t be beat. I may have cried when it was time to go. Don’t pass this place up. Oh, and say hi to Mike the cat for me!

  • We had the most wonderful stay at Susan and Chuck’s clean and cozy home. Chuck greeted us warmly when we arrived and gave us a nice tour of the place. He showed us his fruit trees out front and some equipment (ie, coolers, snorkeling gear, etc) in the back that was available for anyone to use. He also recommended many local food places for us to try. One of the highlights of staying here was the delicious surprise breakfast every morning... We always had the best start to our day!

    Cynthia2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay! The fruit and pastries at breakfast were delightful, fresh and varied each day. Watching all the birds at the feeders in the morning was also great entertainment! The fans were perfectly placed throughout the space and it was always the perfect temp inside. It was blissfully quiet at night which made for getting a great night’s sleep after the day’s adventures, too. And we can’t forget Mr. Mike, the awesome senior orange kitty that owns the place! Loved his little check-ins, such a good host. We had our own parking spot the whole time and borrowed the available beach equipment a few times (so convenient!) and even the binoculars once for some whale watching on the beach! Having a fridge was great to have as well to house our restaurant leftovers and a few groceries. And we can’t leave out the awesome parting gift of chocolate covered Mac nuts (YUM!) with a sweet note handwritten in Hawaiian - the perfect keepsake for an unforgettable Maui getaway!

  • Susie and Chuck are wonderful hosts. We felt immediately at home when we get to their place. The neighborhood is quiet, safe, colorful and residential. The garden is its own oasis. We woke up each morning with birds singing and breakfast waiting for us. We will come again and because we found our home in Maui. I recommend the ones who appreciate tranquil, peace with authentic local vibe instead of some tourist traps to this great home. I will be very reluctant to go back to Lahaina (awful art galleries!) after visiting the authentic side of Maui. Cheers!

  • The Niu Studio was our home away from home for eight wonderful nights. This was a belated honeymoon for my husband and I, and his first trip to Hawaii but my fourth. This was also our first time using Airbnb. We booked in early December for our late February vacation. Susan replied promptly to our questions and assisted us in making our reservation, which was helpful since we had never done this before. In the weeks between making the reservation and our vacation, Susan provided us with additional information pertinent to our interests, including Haleakala reservation information and dinner recommendations. Our flights from the Midwestern US were complicated and we nearly got stranded in Los Angeles on our way here, and I let Susan know that we may not arrive that night after all. She was understanding and accommodating and made sure that we were still able to access the studio when we did arrive quite a bit later in the day than we had expected. We met Chuck on our first morning for breakfast. Chuck was friendly and gave us great advice through the week on what to do or where to go. The fresh baked goods for breakfast were great and we liked having the assorted fresh fruit as well. We had a wonderful time staying here and would love to do so again. The neighborhood is quiet and full of beautiful trees and flowers, and the property itself is beautiful as well.

  • A great place to stay. It was wonderful waking up to breakfast every morning served by the family from their garden. The birds were a beautiful sound, and it was really centrally located 5 minutes away from some great beaches.

    David2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and quiet place located close to shopping, food and beaches. This place is nice with very comfortable beds. Susan’s provides you with all beach gears you need. Snorkeling, towels, chairs etc. I highly recommend this play. I would stay here again without any question...

Located just a short 5 minute walk to "Sugar Beach" one of the longest walking beaches in the world. Our home is approved and licensed as B&B. This requires us to collect the Hawaii Occupancy Tax of 14.42% separately on check-in. We are working "business hours" away from the home, so we need to plan ahead to be able to meet you when you arrive, please give us an arrival window of an hour we will do our best to accommodate you.
We live in a very quiet and residential neighborhood in North Kihei which is very close to the famous "Sugar Beach Bakery" (famous lilikoi key lime pie and fine croissants) and to the Kihei Canoe Club. The center of town is a short drive. You will be staying in a private room with a queen size bed and your own private bathroom. Towels and toiletries will be provided. You will have a small fridge in your room to keep some snacks and drinks cool. North Kihei, centrally located on the island, is a about 15-20 minute drive from the airport, 20 minutes to Paia and about 25 minutes to Lahaina. All the best beaches are here on the South side of the island and you will have access to all of them within minutes. We also have our "Guest Suite" listed on Air BNB - so you are welcome to check out this listing. If you inquire please let us know - we will be able to adjust the price for the "Guest Suite Apartment" if the room is already rented.
Very safe and quiet residential neighborhood, easy access to pretty much everything: towns, beaches, and only seven minutes to the Aquarium. We are located in NORTH Kihei, which is the residential part of town, so "NO" we are NOT directly in the Resort area. It is about a 10 minute drive to the touristic part of South Kihei and Wailea - where the resorts are. Just so you won't be disappointed in terms of location. Also Kihei is a long stretched out town and even though you can walk -there are stretches without side walks and often times a short drive is easier.
  • Where do I even start? This places is a gem! Its location is perfect! It is clean and very comfortable. Maxi and Woody are the best hosts! They provided so many things to make our stay comfortable. The room is packed with all the necessary things for a perfect vacation! They also provide delicious breakfast. What more can you ask for? We had an amazing time in Maui and a big part was because of this place. My cousin and I hope to come back really soon! Mahalo Maxi & Woody!!!

    Mariana2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem! The hosts were so welcoming and wonderful. Their home is gorgeous and North Kihei is such a great location. The room we stayed in was lovely, very comfortable, and sparkling clean. We really enjoyed our breakfast out on the patio surrounded by tropical plants and mountain views. We also appreciated the advice our hosts had for local dining and activities. Would definitely stay here again.

    Siobhan2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Maxi and Woody were amazing hosts! Their home had so many personal touches such as makeup remover and aloe, which is always good to have. They were extremely friendly and hospitable and had great suggestions for food. They even put together a bag of banana bread and other snacks for our 3am drive to Haleakala from their home, which we greatly appreciated. The pictures of their home do not do it justice whatsoever, it has an extremely well-decorated and gorgeous interior. Would definitely recommend their place!

    Cody2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent hosts and location! Breakfast on the lanai was perfect. Thanks!

    Andrew2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Hosts with the most in their fabulous comfortable home. Maxi and Woody have thought about everything from any bathroom amenity you may need to breakfast on the lanai with fresh fruits, delicious scones and homemade banana bread , yogurt, jams and jellies!! Walking distance to a great beach for long walks and whales in season. Perfect relaxing place to stay. Convenient to restaurants too. Enjoy!

    Madi2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Super host, should we be on Maui again, we will live with Maxi.

    Frauke2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome hosts sharing their house with us, still leaving privacy. Nice details and environmental friendly, we really appreciate this place!

    Malin2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time in a “private room” as opposed to a place to myself, and couldn’t have had a better experience! My favorite thing about our stay was all the little details in our room and private bathroom- plenty of towels, they provided toiletries (even Q-tips, mouthwash, toothbrushes, razors) and also protein bars and water in our mini fridge. They even supplied us with snorkeling gear and a beach chair! The house is a quick drive from the beautiful Wailea Beach and Maui Brewing Company! Although we didn’t spend much time in the Airbnb, Woody and Maxi were always there to great us when we got home. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

We are a permitted B and B on Maui’s North Shore near the road to Hana but not close enough that you can hear traffic. The property is on three acres in an agricultural zone where we grow bananas and citrus. Room 2 has its own entrance to the lanai with an ensuite bathroom. It also has ac, mine fridge, satellite tv and a queen size bed. Permit number SUP 2 2015/0002, BBPH 2015/0009. Transient registration TA-128-712-2944-02
Open quiet space that takes advantage of the trade winds. Ocean views and close to great windsurfing and the road to Hana. Wonderful place just to relax at or use as a base for exploring. We also provide a breakfast of bagels, eggs, yogurt, waffles, oatmeal, bananas, coffee and tea. Its self serve.
We are in a rural area close to hiking, surfing and beaches. Baldwin beach is 15 minutes. Hookipa beach is 10 minutes . Paia is about 15 minutes. There is a small grocery about 5 minutes away.
  • The layout is ideal with a terrific living space to cook, dine and relax. This gorgeous property is perfectly located to explore the north shore waterfalls and beaches.

    Anton2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! Close to road to Hana and close to the famous surfing spots at the north shore. An absolutely calm place to relax after a long day and peacefull at night. The shared kitchen and living room offer more space than expected. I would love to come here again!

  • Shared living area, with guests in other rooms of private locked duplex. Felt very safe and secure

    Tamara2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. This place is truly beautiful. It is off the beaten path away from the crowds, has a lovely porch for viewing the sunrise, and the kitchen had all the amenities we needed to cook a lovely meal. Plus, Howard was so communicative and made sure we had all the information we needed prior to check-in. I highly recommend staying here. You won't regret it! Thanks Howard! Elizabeth and Vaughn

    Elizabeth2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful view from the balcony and wonderful place to stay after our adventures. We only stayed one night, but it was relaxing and conveniently located right off the Road to Hana. Howard provided detailed instructions before check in and we had no problem finding the place. The place is very quiet and so we had a good night's sleep. It was nice to be able to cook a quick breakfast provided before we went back on the road. The only thing I would say is the internet was not working, but it was not too much of a problem for us as we stayed only one night. It was a clean and beautiful home. We would stay here again.

    Aimee2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • On our first visit to Maui, we needed a place to stay the night before we took the Road to Hana. The location was ideal and the accommodations were exactly as described. Very quiet and lovely setting and the shared porch was a nice amenity. We had Room 2 just off the kitchen and that gave direct access to the porch. Would definitely recommend this for a no-frills but good value stay. Ideal for a larger family to take multiple rooms as the common area would be a very nice gathering area.

    John2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • House was lovely. Clean, great view, welcoming, and there is space between the rooms you never feel overcrowded. Breakfast and coffee were delicious! Parking was great as well. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Maui.

    Daniel2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is gorgeous, we were in room 3 and had a fantastic view over the ocean! The room is spacious and so clean, and the sharing kitchen and balcony is so stylish. We'll be back!

Located on the mid-slopes of Maui’s Haleakala volcano, Makawao has one foot in its plantation past and another in its thriving arts community. This charming town was once named one of the top 25 arts destinations in the United States. Makawao is the biggest little town in the region locally known as Upcountry Maui and is famous for its Hawaiian cowboys, or paniolo. Since the late 19th century, horseback-riding paniolo have wrangled cattle in Maui’s wide-open upland fields. The Makawao Rodeo, held yearly on the Fourth of July, is Hawaii's largest paniolo competition and has been an Upcountry tradition for more than 50 years. The weekend events include a parade and traditional rodeo competitions such as barrel racing, calf roping and bareback bronco riding, all with a few Hawaiian twists. For a snack, follow the locals to get a famous cream puff from T. Komoda Store. Established in 1916 by Takezo Komoda, a Japanese plantation worker, this little store and bakery does big business. Lines can be long in the morning when everything’s fresh, so come early. The bakery is closed on Wednesdays and Sundays. You can also spend the afternoon meandering through the eclectic shops, boutiques and art galleries. It’s a town of working artists, where you can watch glassblowers, wood sculptors and painters as they fulfill your order.  Makawao is also home to theHui Noeau Visual Arts Center, where visitors can take classes and explore free gallery exhibits. The combination of its paniolo heritage and its lively artistic community make Makawao a unique stop on your visit to Maui.
  • This place is amazing! The location is a bit removed but I think that just adds to the charm. So relaxing and beautiful and a great starting point for heading all over the island. The hosts were so friendly and helpful and made our stay great!

    Kirsten2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Close to upcountry and all the best off-the-beaten-path things in Maui. This rental is a respite and one we will return to, most definitely.

    Lori2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful view! Josh and Shannan have a great setting and so many fine details that made it truly a great place to stay! I recently stayed 6 nights and have plans to return. It’s a very quiet setting with views of the north shore that you can enjoy while eating breakfast on the balcony by the pool. They offer great choices for breakfast, including making smoothies if you request. They are so friendly and likable that you just can’t help but to enjoy your stay. It’s close to the cute towns of Paia and Makawao where you can go to many fine restaurants for dinner or they even have a grill that you can cook your own food. Love this place!

    Michelle2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about the Maui Northshore Lookout was phenomenal. To list everything we loved would exhaust my character count in this review. To start: Upcountry in general and this B&B specifically are absolutely gorgeous. We made it a point each day to get back early in order to watch the sunsets each evening... with some Champagne or IPA in hand and from the lava-rock pool/hot tub, of course. It cools down each night, which makes waking up each morning with a fresh cup of coffee truly refreshing. The attention to detail Shannan, Josh, and Erin put into the place is amazing. I was already in awe while checking in, but when I opened the closet and saw a cursive "aloha" brushed/written on the extra blanket, I couldn't stop smiling. Everything about the place is spectacular: again, the pool!, adirondack chairs, a telescope, take one/leave one beer and wine area, chairs & snorkel gear in the closet, the sand/rock garden, the firepits, the amazing bed and pillows, the welcome bag, etc, etc, etc, etc. Staying here was such a wonderful difference from the over-priced and touristy resort areas we had previously stayed at. We won't want to stay anywhere else on Maui ever again. Last but not least, Mimi was a wonderful sunny late-afternoon and evening outdoor companion. Filled our fur-baby needs perfectly!

    Ryan2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Shannon and Josh’s place was a delight. It was the perfect start to our honeymoon - secluded, peaceful, great amenities and access to lots of fun close by activities! We will be back!

    Gracie2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at North Shore Lookout. Our room and the surrounding of the house could not have been any better. You can start the day with a fabulous freshly made smoothie by Josh, having a stunning view of the ocean and green hills. The location is just perfect as you are almost alone in the nature and different p.o.i., like the airport and the road to Hana, aren’t too far away. We would highly recommend this place and would love to come back one day... Thank you Shannan and Josh for paying attention to each and every detail and for being such nice hosts! You made our stay at Maui unforgettable. Mahalo!

  • We had a great stay at Mike's place. Mike and his wife were incredibly kind and hospitable. The place was very clean and had great amenities like a coffee machine, beach towels, fridge and rainfall shower. Though we were out touring most of the time, we felt like Mike was accessible if we needed anything. Thank you!

  • We stayed at mike‘s and ruby‘s place for 5 nights. It was the best decision to stay at this modern host. Everything was clean and lovely prepared. Everyday we got fresh towels and also towels for the beach. You are able to use the fridge and you can take a bottle of water everyday for free. Mike was really nice and helpful. He gave us really good tips and informations about tours, must see‘s and restaurants. You can come and go whenever you want and if you have any questions mike is always there!

  • Mike’s place was perfect for our last day in Maui. Stocked with everything you need, including a really nice and comfortable shower! Would recommend and stay here again.

    Cindy2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a pleasant stay here. It was a little inconvenient to have to share a bathroom with other guests, however, we already knew about this. Mike and Ruby provide a small refrigerator and microwave in the guest common area. They also put together a list of recommendations on activities and local restaurants, which was a nice touch. WiFi available, and TV w/ Netflix in the bedroom.

    Hien2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived late and had difficulty finding the place in the dark. Mike couldn’t have been more gracious and helpful making sure we made it there. The space was clean, comfortable and welcoming. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a quick stopover, and the location makes me think it would also be great for an extended stay. Thanks to Mike for your exceptional hospitality!

  • We had a wonderful time staying at Eva's B&B! The room was nicer than expected and there is a beautiful view from the breakfast area. Eva was a welcoming host and happy to give advice on things to do and see around Maui. We can't wait to stay here again.

  • The place is what you expect it to be. The room has a comfortable bed and space for your luggage (plus tv and fridge). The bathrooms are shared (so u may have to wait a tiny bit during peak hours). It is right in the middle so easy to get around on the island.

  • Staying here was a spiritual experience. The location makes a perfect resting place after a long day’s adventure. Mika and Tammi are wonderful and gracious people who I had the privilege to get to know a bit while there. They helped me make the very best of a rough start to my vacation. The property is beautiful and relaxing. The avocados are to die for!!! I highly recommend a stay here. I will be back!

  • Really very clean. Everything is properly written. Thanks for the snack's

    Svenja2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Mika & Tammi’s place is in a wonderful location. We arrived from the mainland kind of late and the quick drive to Makawao and a first-night stay at their place was a much better idea than a long drive to our eventual destination in West Maui. We didn’t realize just how nice the location was until the next morning when we looked out our window to see Haleakala in all its majestic glory. I wish we had booked a couple more nights, to take advantage of that view while enjoying the hot tub and sitting area, with chiminea and fire pit, on the back lawn. A clean, comfortable place with a spectacular view!

    Al2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice property "out in the country". Beautiful back yard and sitting area that overlooks Haleakala and the foothills surrounding it. Tons of trees loaded with fresh fruit which we enjoyed. The quarters are basic, but very neat and clean. Towels and linens were very clean and place was well kept and organized. We LOVED the guests who were staying there - and we had some great conversations with them. There is no A/C and our room was pretty hot - unfortunately, the ceiling fan was very weak and did not provide much relief. Would have loved a better fan. There was a nice, cool cross breeze when the door was open - but we did not feel comfortable sleeping with the door open so we ended up rather hot and uncomfortable - otherwise , we loved the place and would stay again - we might bring a small fan though :)

  • Mika and Tammi run an awesome place. It’s a large home with numerous simultaneous stud, but it’s very well managed. There are plenty of bathrooms and intentional interactions. The view is phenomenal. It’s a very welcoming home. They are great hosts to speak with!

The place was sparkling clean and the location was fantastic - just short walking distances from amazing beaches, shops, and restaurants. Would absolutely stay there again.

  • The location is fantastic! Close to beach, surfing, and shops. Couple blocks to downtown Lahaina, and right next to the beach where I took surf lessons - recommended by the owners. The place was clean, and had useful gear like beach chairs, surfboards, and snorkel gear. Everything was clean, and I can tell the owners take good care of the property and guests. Bedroom had an AC unit. And there were always eggs to cook for breakfast, a perfect way to start a day of surfing/snorkeling/swimming!

  • A clean and quiet hostel with great hosts! Extremely close to all of the shops and beach. I would definitely recommend staying here and would come again.

  • This place was great! Right by the beach, quiet, and great hosts! They make you feel like family, they keep food in the fridge for the guests, and are very flexible. The day I was checking out my flight didn't leave until 10pm, so the host even gave me the option of coming over and using his house again free of charge between check out time and the time of my flight in case I needed it for some reason. I ended up not needing it, but it was always nice to know that the options was there. Would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

  • Great location, comfortable space, and friendly hosts. I was only there for a quick overnight so wasn't able to take advantage of all the amenities, but they had everything you need for an enjoyable Maui holiday.

  • The hosts are so awesome. They are kind, helpful and give off positive and relaxing vibes that help make the stay enjoyable. The facility is clean, welcoming, and the location is right on front street in Lahaina. They also have bikes you can use. Biking down the front street on a cruiser bike was the highlight of my day! Thank you!

  • Marianne’s cottage was beyond our expectations. The pictures on the website do not fully capture the warm ness of the cottage and the breathtaking views from the porch. Marianne is a very thoughtful host and when my son forgot his journal after we had left for the airport, she offered to mail it back for us. It was really nice to do all the Maui activities and then come home to relax at Marianne’s peaceful cottage. Thank you Marianne!

    Tina2019-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house and property. Marianne literally thought of EVERYTHING. So well stocked with anything you could want. Fresh eggs from her chickens! The house is perfect, we were pretty blown away when we got there. The view is spectacular and the giant covered deck brings it all to you. Marianne was so nice, great tips on where to go and what to do. 5 stars, would definitely stay here again!

  • Our stay at Kula 4200 was incredible! The location is great and super peaceful, the view is absolutely amazing, and the house is very well-stocked, especially with kitchen supplies. I would stay again in a heartbeat, and would recommend it anyone!

    Helen2018-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful experience at Marianne’s property. Kula has always been one of my favorite places in the world, but the location, the property and her hospitality made it even more special. From the breathtaking views, to the immaculate and modern cottage, to the sweet farm animals in the area, it was exactly what we were looking for and more! Every detail has been thoughtfully taken care of by Marianne, as the property has been equipped with all the necessities (a lot more than i have at my own home!) as well as various luxuries, all in pristine condition. Her hospitality was like a warm secure blanket, as she was there for anything we may have needed. Looking forward to being a guest at this wonderful property again in the future....The ALOHA spirit is truly felt here 🌈☀️

  • From check-in to check-out this was a 5-star accommodation. The host was proactive in giving us an update on the property during hurricane Lane which eased our concern. She also was super helpful in providing tips on local hot spots. And the place was immaculate! The view is even better than the pictures you see on the listing. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a unique Maui experience! Thanks again Marianne, you were an amazing host!

    Brandon2018-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful location, beautiful home (picture don’t do justice to home or location) and phenomenal host. If you’re considering Maui this is a must!

    Scott2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Marianne's place is amazing!! We stayed here with our 2 kids (2 and 5) and they kept insisting on going "back to our vacation house" rather than explore the island. We did 2 nights at a resort on Kanapaali beach and then 3 nights here and it was such a great balance. We loved the cooler weather and that view can't be beat. Also surprisingly easy to get around, we never felt stuck "on the mountain". Super highly recommend staying here!

    Marieke2018-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Marianne's place is amazing. The photos don't do the view or the home justice. Marianne was incredibly welcoming and kind. We got in at night and it was so wonderful that she stocked the fridge with breakfast for the next day. The home is well furnished and has everything you could imagine you'd need. Deck is great place to just hang out. It is nice retreat from the heat and the people down by the beaches. The house has everything you could want for a comfortable stay in Maui and you get the awesome upcountry experience!

  • This is a lovely place. Sherry is a great host and made wonderful recommendations regarding restaurants and beaches. The room is nicely furnished (pineapples, pineapples, pineapples :) ) and the location was really convenient for us (we stayed for two nights).

  • Lovely place, lovely stay. Rooms were clean and spacious and had AC, which was a huge bonus. The host was wonderful and personable. Would definitely come back. Only minor complaint is that it seemed a little pricey to me, even as a Hawaii resident. Thank you for your hospitality! Would recommend to all.

    Rebecca2019-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • We felt right at home in the accommodation. Sherry welcomed us very friendly. We were shown directly the beach! The walkway is no more than 2 minutes. A few tips with bars and restaurant we very much appreciated. The room was in best condition and sparkling clean. The nice little details with the pineapple were beautiful. The room had the best Hawaiian style. Snorkel gear and brattles for the water were provided, which of course we used the same. The pool was very well maintained and the garden was breathtakingly beautiful in the evening. Unfortunately we could only stay for two nights. Thanks sherry it was beautiful.

  • Great and wonderful does not say enough. Six stars out of five. This is the place to stay on Maui.

    Edward2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I had a great honeymoon/Christmas stay with Tanaz. I have never stayed at an airbnb and didn't know what to expect. The accommodations were amazing. Tanaz even had a congratulatory box of chocolates waiting for us which i thought was a nice touch. Our room, The Coconut Room, had an ocean view and the small private beach was only steps away. This wasn't like staying in or sharing a house with a stranger. There are three secluded downstairs rooms that share a large common area and a common entrance. We never heard our neighbors come in and out of their rooms which was nice. Great coffee and dining are just down the street about five minutes by car and fifteen by foot. If you're looking for a nice, clean, quiet, off-the-beaten-path, place to stay, this is it!

    Clint2018-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Tanaz was fantastic to deal with and answered every question we had very quickly. We really enjoyed our stay here and recommend others to consider this host. If you want a headache-free experience, this is the place to stay on your vacation in Maui. Mahalo Tanaz!

  • Lovely place to spend some days. We saw every day turtles at the beach crossing the street. Responsive time was excellent. Room very clean. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you very much Tanaz!

Self-serve breakfast at your own time on your private lanai with ocean and garden view of God's beautiful creation. Mostly quiet Christian refuge with birds singing, wild chickens crowing (earplugs!), raindrops! No TV or AC. No smoking, drugs,or heavy alcohol. This is a smoke-free property, so absolutely no smokers. Mahalo!
Bamboo Heaven Maui is a permitted bed & breakfast, #BBPH (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN), so you can be assured your room is secure for your reservation. Our rooms are unique and inviting with their high, bamboo-studded ceilings and tropical bamboo woven walls that make you feel like you are truly on a Hawaiian vacation! The 2 private rooms, the Omaomao (Green) Room and the Polu (Blue) Room can be rented together for groups and families, or separately for couples. I also have a fold-out twin bed for an extra guest at an additional $20 a night. Please check for availability on separate listings.
Haiku is the neighborhood I grew up in. I love it! It is a small but growing community with still a lot of the old local families I know, and a lot of new neighbors moving in. We have a variety of restaurants from Japanese and Thai to American, Hawaiian, Vegetarian, Mexican, Chinese, food trucks with Mediterranean and Indian food, and a Kombucha bar with raw foods! There are 2 grocery stores, a post office, hardware store, laundromat, doctor, thrift shop, video store, gift shop, etc. We are the home of Haleakala Bike Company, where you can ride a bike down from Haleakala Crater back to Haiku. Another popular activity here is to watch the sunrise over Haleakala Crater. This is a good location to do that from. It is about a 1 1/2 hr. drive up to the crater, but allow 2 hours for traffic. So you will be setting your alarm to wake up about 3:30 am! A new rule has just been enforced, and you need to make a reservation ahead of time to see the sunrise! Only 150 cars are allowed in each morning, and it is already booked up! Make your reservations now! Haiku is on the tropical side of the island, which means beautiful rainbows, flowers and plants, green grass, fruit trees, and cool tradewinds. It is 5 minutes away from beautiful beaches and surf spots, yet away from the tourist traps on Maui! Don't forget to hang with the 50+ turtles that swim to shore at sunset, 5 min. away! Twin Falls with its beautiful waterfalls and pools is less than 15 min. away, if you like to hike. The famous Jaws where surfers ride 30' waves is just 10 min. away! If you love to shop, Paia & Makawao towns are filled with interesting shops, art galleries, and restaurants, and just minutes away from Haiku. Come stay in Haiku, and be among the locals to experience the real Hawaii!!
  • Great place for low-key Up Country. Short drive to Haiku or Paia or great central location for exploring Haleakala or Road to Hana. Loved it.

    Josh2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Janice’s place is just as described. She was so welcoming to my son and I. She even made some banana bread and leis for us which we were not expecting before we left. She provided many options for us to make our breakfast which I thoroughly enjoyed. The view from her place is amazing although we experienced rain. However, I would not hesitate to stay at Janice’s place again.

    Liz2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • The green room was a nice cozy place to call home after a long day exploring the island. The bed was very comfy we look forward to a return trip!!

    Tanya2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed such warm and generous hospitable at Janice’s place. The room was cozy, beautifully set up and well appointed. We enjoyed lovely breakfasts on the lanai in the mornings, hearing the birds and roosters. The fresh tropical fruit was such a nice treat! It was such a peaceful and restful accommodation, and one where we felt right at home soon as we met Janice who was there to greet us. The location is perfect for those who are considering the Road to Hana or looking for a respite from the busy beach scenes of Maui. Haiku is charming, located in beautiful ‘upcountry’ and close to makoPaia and surf towns. Janice gave us great tips of the local food scene... we found a nice collection of food trucks nearby at Haiku Market. Our favourite was the local ‘All Kine Maui Grindz’. We enjoyed getting to know Janice and are so grateful to have met such a warm and gracious host! We would love to return to Haiku again and stay with Janice. Well worth booking!

  • Janice has a great heart and that shows! I felt so welcome and comfortable in her apartmen! I can highly recommend her place!!!

  • Bamboo Heaven was a beautiful stay in the middle of a full week + on Maui. Janice was extremely accommodating. The room was stocked with special touches and local food for our pleasure. She even instructed us in how to prepare a traditional breakfast. Galdwin beach was a lovely place to spend the day, swim and watch the surfers. We were able to view sunrise on Haleakala and Janice provided us with bags full of warm clothes for the experience. We certainly appreciated the gloves and hats in the cold morning! Janice care deeply for her home, property and guests. Mahalo! Chrisi and Michael, Bellevue WA

    Chrisi2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Bamboo Heaven is truly a piece of heaven! From before our arrival Auntie Janice loaded us up with details about her home and also about local sights. Her local tips are spot on and our first morning with Hawaiian breakfast was the best. Throughout our stay she was attentive and helpful with any of our needs or questions. Haiku is a wonderful peaceful respite away from the hustle and bustle of Paia and other tourist locales. We definitely plan to return! Mahalo nui loa!

    Jessica2019-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Bamboo Heaven Green Room was a joy to stay in. Clean, well equipped, safe, comfortable...definitely a good place to stay. Seeing amazing stars and the Milky-way at 3am was a highlight for me. Our host, Janice, taught us some Hula, how to open a coconut, chew some sugar cane, and see a pineapple growing. Just experiencing some of the original Hawaiian culture, from our host Janice, was a treasure for us. This location is very central to both Paia and Hana if someone does the drive to Hana in one day. It’s also an easy drive to the airport. I would definitely stay here again.

For a nice oceanfront dinner there are 4 very popular oceanfront restaurants a short walk from the BNB. With the close proximity to Old Lahaina Town, there is some road noise. This typically isn't noticeable from the rooms however if you are very sensitive to noise, you may notice it. It certainly isn't a deterrent for most guests as the location is fantastic! Moana Lani Bed and Breakfast is a perfect home base to enjoy your Hawaiian vacation.
  • We stayed 3 nights at this charming B&B in March 2020. It is a wonderful location in Lahaina with lots of extras! We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts and used the beach equipment too. Gwen was a lovely host and provided us several recommendations. I would recommend staying here without hesitation.

    Sarah2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful B&B in Lahaina! We loved the town and Gwen and Christian were incredible hosts. We strongly recommend this stay to anyone looking for a comfortable and unique experience on Maui. The breakfast is delicious and they offer all the gear you need to explore the beaches and ocean.

    Justin2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Gwen and Christians Bed and Breakfast was a very nice place. It’s a bit away from the main town so you need a car or use the bikes that are available.

    Jane2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Gwen and Christians place was the perfect place to experience all the best that Maui has to offer. The breakfasts were well balanced to start the day off right and the complimentary Mai Tais were a nice touch to end the day. The rooms were cozy and clean. The bikes and beach equipment came in very handy. Check with them before before hauling a lot of items with you because they may have what you need. There are some stores and restaurants within walking distance but you will definitely want a rental car to get around. There is adequate parking. My wife and I loved the geckos that were attracted to breakfast in order to get something sweet. We were sad that we had to leave this wonderful place.

    Gary2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • I recommend this air B&B. So clean very nice owners and good location.

    Jacqueline2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful place for us to stay in Lahaina and was exactly as advertised. The room is small but very well appointed and clean. With being out all day (Hey,it’s Hawai’i!) a comfy bed was all we needed. The breakfasts were simple but delicious with homemade muffins being a highlight! There were hot items, fresh fruit, and variety each day. Both Christian and Gwen are pleasant and knowledgeable with lots of suggestions for things to see and places to go. I highly recommend!

    Stephen2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Clean with plenty of personal touches. Great breakfast every morning and our hosts gave us insight/tips.

    Ellie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Gwen and Christian were amazing hosts! Their place was warm and inviting, the breakfast was delicious and they had great tips on dinner spots, snorkel trips and beach locations! We definitely would recommend them and can’t wait to come back! Thank you for such a great place to stay! Mahalo!

  • Quiet neighborhood, sunset in front of the house, 1 km from the highway. 10 minutes from the super market. By cons, cramped in the room if you have to eat inside because of the rain.

    Michèle2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Tom & Denise were great hosts - their place was clean, they made check-in easy, and the space was quiet and private. Their breakfast system was nice as well, and the location made it easy to get around Maui. Would definitely recommend!

  • Great stay. Good location-Easily got around using uber.

  • Maui Meadows Bed and Breakfast is a place where “dreams come true”. Tom and Denise are great hosts and have thought of everything to make one’s stay at their beautiful home in Maui delightful and convenient. The location is excellent to getting wherever you may want to venture. They provide a book on exploring Maui, which was very helpful. We used it to plan out our activities each day. The room was clean, comfortable, and very nicely decorated. They have all you need to enjoy a day at the beach - towels, beach chairs and umbrella, cooler, ice packs, snorkel gear, and boogie boards. My husband and I looked forward to our continental breakfast each morning, which we enjoyed on the lanai as we listened to the birds serenading us. We appreciated the special touches that added to our experience, like flowers on the breakfast tray and in the room. We would recommend Maui Meadows Bed and Breakfast and would stay there again if we ever have the opportunity to return to Maui.

    Manna2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • The aloha hospitality here is above and beyond. Tom and Denise are fantastic and added extra touches to give an even greater feeling the aloha. Mahalo for our wonderful stay! Highly recommended!

  • Tom came to greet us upon arrival and gave us a brief tour. The room was very clean and as pictured. We loved the extra things available for our use, like beach chairs and towels, and more. You could tell that Tom and Denise put care and thought into providing various amenities to ensure their guests had a wonderful time. It was perfect for our short time in Maui.

  • Absolutely beautiful space. View from our bedroom balcony was amazing as well as view from the shared kitchen balcony. Breakfast supplies were available, large kitchen. Wasn't sure about the hot water though, maybe it has a cap so you can only have so much Heat? Otherwise this place was perfect. Perfect start for our 2 day road to hana journey. We loved it.

  • What a special place! Shannan and Josh have really outdone themselves. This bed and breakfast is even better in person. They are the perfect hosts and have thought of every detail. Besides what’s not to love about getting a freshly made latte with breakfast ever morning! Perfect location away from all the touristy hubbub. Close to the super cute town of Paia and if you fancy watching the surfers in action don’t miss taking a short drive to Ho’okipa lookout! Trust me you won’t regret staying at this beautiful b&b P.S. looking for cheap but great eats? Go eat at surf club tacos in Pa’ia and don’t miss getting an ice cream cone at Artisan!

    Yolanda2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the Pele suite and we wished we could've stayed here for the entirety of our trip had they not been so booked. Josh, Shannan, and Erin were incredibly friendly, easy going, and had useful tips for exploring the island. Breakfast provided in the morning saved us a lot of time thinking about where to go eat and helped us get our day adventure started. The coffee served here is even better than some we had elsewhere, and the smoothies were a refreshing non-coffee option. We used the softpack insulated cooler and the ice packs provided nearly everyday we were there. We were also able to fill our water bottles with ice and water from the lobby area. Be sure to allow some time to relax on the premise as there's a great lush view and the pool area is quite private given most guests are out and about. After a long day adventure, it was nice to sleep peacefully in their comfy beds. Overall, it was a great location to explore the island and the upcountry area of Maui and a good retreat away from the common resort and condo areas of Maui. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we make another visit to this island.

  • North Shore Lookout is a little slice of heaven on earth! My husband and I stayed here for our 20th wedding anniversary. Shannan and Josh are amazing hosts. As soon as you arrive you will notice all the love and detail they put into this amazing Airbnb!! They are so warm and friendly and have wonderful suggestions on places to visit and yummy restaurants to enjoy. The views from their beautiful backyard are breathtaking. Make sure to enjoy gazing up at the stars in their relaxing jacuzzi. The bed was so incredibly comfortable and the luxurious bathroom was clean, spacious and so beautifully decorated. Every morning you are welcomed to a delicious breakfast with coffee and juice. I Ioved the homemade jams and really appreciated that there was always a protein option to choose from. My husband and I had such an amazing time here and we can't wait to come back and visit!

    Colette2018-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • The North Shore Lookout is beyond magical! We stayed in the Pele suite as a part of our honeymoon and it is a part of our trip that we will never forget! Shannan and Josh really have thought of everything and beyond that are two of the nicest people you could hope to meet. The property and dwelling space were beyond what we could have ever imagined. The breakfasts were fantastic- best smoothie I’ve ever had! The general ambiance of this place is something I will hold onto in my memory forever and there will be many cold days in Ohio that I will close my eyes and go back to the North Shore Lookout! Thank you a million times over for the best experience imaginable Shannan and Josh! You guys are wonderful and are running an amazing bed and breakfast. Top notch!

  • Susan and Chuck provided a very clean and comfortable place for rest and relaxation. The location is very good, close to numerous beaches on the south side of the island, and at the same time in a very quiet location away from the hustle, bustle and noise pollution of the main tourist areas . The studio is fully equipped with everything one might need - dishes, cutlery, all kitchen staples, such as coffee, tea, sugar, etc., towels, beach equipment, maps and guide books. Chuck gave us a lot of local tips on what to see and the best beachs to snorkel. Breakfast was very plentiful with fresh fruit and baked goods every day. The grounds are terrific, with beautiful garden and singing birds. We highly recommend Susan's BnB as a great place to stay.

    Anna2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Hale Huanani really lives up to the name “house of beautiful fruit”. Chuck gave us a tour of his fabulous garden when we arrived and we enjoyed fresh fruit with breakfast every day. The small touches like the snacks and juice and the nightlight in the bathroom made this a great base for our stay on Maui. We made good use of the beach equipment available and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

    Rebecca2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay here. Our favorite part was the fresh local fruit served each morning! The lovely garden and the birds were also a plus. The location is great; it's easy to access most of the island from this spot. It's a very, very clean room and a very comfortable place for two. It's also a great price.

  • My husband and I had such a great stay here! The hosts have provided so many amenities, it feels like a home away from home. The breakfast in the morning was lovely and relaxing. The location was great and close to many great beaches. The host provided chairs, beach towels, coolers and snorkel gear, which was amazing! The place was super comfortable and the ceiling fans cool the place down quick - we usually miss A/C but it wasn’t necessary at all. Terrific value and very thoughtful hosts. Would certainly stay again.

  • This Airbnb was on a half-acre of paradise. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, comfortable, and clean. The hospitality was excellent. We woke up to Susan’s freshly baked goodies and fruit every morning on the lanai. Chuck, Susan’s husband, was a pleasure to talk with. Our hosts provided everything we needed. There was soap, shampoo and conditioner, razors, a hair dryer, and beach/snorkel gear. Very convenient. Also provided were special touches like local coffee and macadamia chocolates. Susan and Chuck went all out to make sure we had a great time. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Maui.

  • Eva’s place was beyond our expectations. The entire property looks much better in person, was well laid out and spectacular. Our suite comes with full kitchen, private bath/bathroom. I love that there was Q-tips and cotton pads for personal hygiene. There was a propane grill on the outdoor patio. The shared area where breakfast was served had a great view. Eva and Jim were so kind and helpful. We will definitely return to this B&B! Mahalo!!

    Tran2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Last-minute circumstances prevented Eva’s room from being available to me. Fortunately, she has a close relationship with her next-door neighbor who also has a BnB, and I was able to stay there. The accommodations exceeded my expectations. The location and neighborhood are fantastic. It is about a 20 minute walk (or 3 minute drive) from a really nice beach. Also in close proximity are some great restaurants in Kihei and Wailea. You are about 30 minutes from the airport and the beginning of the road to Hana. You are about an hour from Lahaina.

    Aaron2019-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Eva. She's such a great host. Nothing was too much trouble. The suite was well appointed and Eva gave us some great advice on where to go and where to eat. Highly recommend.

  • Eva is the perfect host! This is so much more than a B+B. We had a wonderful vacation on Maui thanks to all the great advice Eva gave us. We would love to come back and spend more time in this B+B.

  • We had a great stay at Eva's house in Kihei. Our suite was clean, comfortable and quiet. The location was excellent -- walking distance to the beaches in Kihei and close to the highway to explore the rest of beautiful Maui. Best of all Eva was a great host -- great continental breakfast to start the day and lots of great advice. Thanks Eva for helping to make our trip so enjoyable!

    Eli2016-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Eva and her husband Jim were fantastic hosts. Our stay was one of the highlights of Maui. Such a friendly and helpful couple that went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The place was just like the photos. We were surprised at how much space we had to ourselves. The apartment was huge! Would definitely stay there again.

We are a permitted B and B on Maui’s North shore near the road to Hana but not close enough that you can hear traffic. The property is on three acres in an agricultural zone where we grow bananas and citrus. Room 3 has its own private lanai, an en-suite bathroom with built in slate shower, ac, satellite tv and a queen size bed. Permit number SUP 2015/0002, BBPH 2015/0009. Transient registration TA-128-712-2944-02
The property is on a flag lot with beautiful ocean views. All the properties in our area are on at least 2 acres. Built to take advantage of the Tradewinds the large lanai is a cool and quiet place to have coffee in the morning or to just hang out. We provide a self serve breakfast of bagels, eggs, yogurt, waffles, oatmeal, bananas, coffee and tea. The bathroom, in room 3, is an en-suite bathroom. It doesn’t have a door but has a wall separating it from the room with an opening at the end.
Our place is one mile from the ocean. There are rocky cliffs with nice views. It’s a nice , but steep, walk to the bottom of the road to take in the view.
  • We enjoyed our stay very much, more than met our expectations , very clean and spacious, great views to the ocean and tropical plants . Location is convenient to visit many points on Maui, but also a very quiet setting to relax. This is great place to stay!

  • Howard’s space was beautiful, clean, and had great amenities for a traveller. Check-in was seamless and his communication prior to our visit was very helpful! Highly recommend.

  • Room 3 was a beautifully designed, modern suite with a double shower and partial ocean view. The shared kitchen and living space was very nice and spacious.

    William2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Your house is beautiful Howard, lovely and smartly defined! Nicely appointed with great views and squeaky clean. Perfect way to ease the journey to Hana!

    Christopher2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Howard’s place is wonderful! The room is amazing with an awesome view of the ocean. The kitchen is well-stocked and we enjoyed the fact that we had the opportunity to meet others staying in the other rooms. It was easy to find and a perfect last night in Maui before we headed to the airport. I would absolutely stay here again, and preferably for more than one night!!

    Lauren2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • From the forest hut on Hana Road, you can see the sea. Our three-story room has a separate bathroom, cloakroom and balcony, and it's a big place. The check-in was smooth and the host prepared breakfast attentively, except for the small flying insects (but not the mosquitoes), which were all good. We also met a very friendly old Japanese couple who came to Maui for a vacation and taught us how to use the oven and coffee machine. Although we only stayed for one night, we were very satisfied.

  • Such an amazing location! Exceeded all our expectations.

  • We had an absolutely amazing stay at Shannan‘s and Josh‘s place. The premise is very beautiful and well maintained. The room was squeaky clean and equipped with everything we needed and lots of thoughtful little things. Josh and Shannan are super friendly and easy going and provided us with many helpful tips throughout our stay. The view from the main house is gorgeous and the breakfast was delicious. Mahalo for having us! We can absolutely recommend this place.

    Marius2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Dear future guests of North Shore Lookout, look no further! Shannan & Josh have done an exceptional job at creating a beautiful retreat. They have outfitted the suites with thoughtful touches, & everything you’d need: beach chairs, umbrella, snorkeling gear, premium bedding, towels, dishes etc... it was the perfect launching place to go & explore during the day & a quiet, upcountry resting place at the night. The views are unmatched as well as the hospitality! We really appreciated the carefully curated breakfasts with fresh local fruits & smoked salmon. And we loved having a chance to talk with Erin as well as Josh & Shannan for recommendations each day. My husband & I explored quite a bit of the island during our 10 day stay (we did the full road to Hana TWICE!) & whenever we spoke about the location & amenities here at North Shore we were assured that we had been lucky to such a place here in Maui! We really hated to leave & are confident that you will love it here as well! Mahalo Josh & Shannan for having us & we look forward to our return!

  • The area, cottages, breakfast, pool, EVERYTHING was just perfect & cosy ! We recommend this address without hesitation.

  • Excellent place to stay. Super clean, spacious, private and public spaces are great. Breakfast is wonderful. We greatly enjoyed the hot tub and pool. Our hosts were attentive and available. We hope to stay there again.

  • My partner and I just had the good fortune to stay at Shannan's place and we fell in love with it. The whole home including our self contained suite was spotless, the attention to all details extraordinary, the breakfast's were delicious and Shannan and Josh were attentive hosts who had many excellent suggestions for outings in the area. It is away from the main resort towns (about 10 minutes to Makawao and 20 to Paia) and we felt like we were truly enjoying the essence of Hawaii. We are planning on going back next year and will tell al our friends ! It was a little cooler so take a light sweater for evenings.

    Joan2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • STAY HERE! This place was amazing. The room was very comfortable, spacious and clean. The private outdoor areas were perfect to have a romantic evening looking at the stars. The shared spaces were very welcoming and the complimentary breakfasts were a perfect way to start our morning! The hot tub was a wonderful way for us to wind down from a long day of running around. Shannan and Josh were always available and helpful when we needed anything, which wasn't often because the closet was packed full of gear to prepare a person for anything that they would want to do on the island. They truly thought of everything. We are already talking to friends about returning for a group vacation. Thank you so much!

  • I can’t say even good things about this place. Location is wonderful and Eva was super kind and hospitable. Really loved the space. Super clean and great amenities.

    Tatiana2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Eva’s place is a tropical paradise! Location is close to lovely beaches for snorkeling and sunsets, and great food trucks and restaurants nearby. I’m a returning kama’aina and wanted to share some true Aloha with my niece. Eva’s place was perfect for this! Thanks!

    Lori2018-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Eva had some signage out for us to easily find and get into the suite when we arrived. Once inside, we were so pleased to find an immaculate and very comfy suite! Eva had laid out all the info we would need to get settled in. Wonderful location, warm hostess and quite a lovely place to stay - highly recommended!

    Nicole2015-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Eva was a great host. She made sure that we enjoyed the first days of our honeymoon. We got the key to the room even after a late arrival (had delays in our flight) and were free to come and go as we pleased. We got a different room from that which we booked. She said it was a upgrade. Can't tell if thats actually the case. It still was a very nice and big suite! The neighbourhood seemed super safe and nice. We had a parking lot just for us, really convenient. Eva is a very kind and hearty person. We enjoyed talking to her whilst enjoying a very good breakfast. Plenty of bread, croissants, fruit, cereals - really left no wishes unfulfilled. We couldn't attend the breakfast each day (what a shame!) because of our time schedule on Maui. Eva was helping where she could with infos on where to dine and comforting us all the way. She even let us do a late checkout, because we had a flight quite late that day. The suite is located in a fair distance to some grocery stores, diners, etc. Since the parking lot was provided it was very ease to reach our destinations from there. We enjoyed full privacy and freedom and had a pleasant start into our marriage - thank you for that!

    Christian2015-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • The room was comfy and as beautiful as advertised. Clean, quiet and had ample privacy. Pricing and location are good. Eva is a wonderful host and worked patiently with us when trying to book a room with extra guests. Stay here!

  • The Mango Suite was GREAT!!!!! Very clean, spacious and perfect location! Eva was the BEST hostess! She was very responsive and quick to get back to me with any questions I had. She even called me before my arrival to make sure I was all set. Ipoh arrival I was greeted by welcome signs that lead me to where my suite was. Waters & snacks were there for me, too!

  • This B&B was everything and more! What a wonderful place for quieting ones heart, connecting with one another and nature. I loved my mornings sitting in the gardens and my husband enjoyed hiking in the nature preserve. So easy to get to all the activities and yet you feel like you are in a beautiful hideaway. Loved the morning breakfasts on the deck looking over the gardens and out to the ocean. Great place! We highly recommend the North Shores Lookout for your Maui vacation.

  • Shannan and Josh are incredible hosts and the Paniolo Suite is a gorgeous place to stay. We stayed here for our honeymoon and have already recommended it to all of our friends and family. Breakfast each morning is delicious and Shannan and Josh give great recommendations on where to go while staying in Maui.

    Anete2019-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • North Shore Lookout is beautiful! The views and central location were perfect so we could get around the entire island, which we definitely did. The rooms were amazing - clean and spacious. The amenities were great, and the pool/hot tub were fabulous. Breakfast (and coffee and smoothies) were delicious. Josh and Shannan gave great advice on where to go, what to see, and how to get there (and who to use, if that applied as well.) We had an amazing vacation, and hope to come back again soon.

    Barbara2019-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for magic this is the place. The pics are incredible but it’s even more magical when you lay your own eyes on this property. We were in awe. Then we walked into our room. We stayed in the paniolo suite. We were in awe again of how big it was. Sitting area in the Dining area with a kitchenette, large bathroom , very large bedroom with sitting area. The bed was really cozy too:). They had chairs for the beach a little cooler and snorkel gear to use. Our welcome bag had beach towels and chocolates. Sweet touch. Glass where for indoor drinks. I love the idea of removing shoes before entering the indoors. The place was so clean! Now let’s get to the breakfast. We walked up every morn around 7:30 for a feast. Breakfast is 7:30- 9:30. We had no idea it was going to be so well thought of and prepared for us. All the island fruits and more. Salmon and other meats on different days. Bagels, croissants, muffins. All kinds of jams and spreads. Oatmeal, cereal with a variety of milks. Coffee, teas, juices. One morning Josh even whipped us up a wellness shot. One morn I saw him whip up a smoothie for a guest. They peeped their heads out every morn to make sure we were all ok and if we had questions about the island . We didn’t get a chance to go in the pool or jacuzzi or sit out by the fire but we will next time for sure. We can’t wait to stay here again. The price is great as well. We had a most memorable time staying with them. I highly highly recommend this place. I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed. Aloha:)

    Matthew2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, 5 minutes away from the main resorts, eateries and the best shaved ice in Maui. Tanaz was a great host as this was our first stay in Maui, and as newlyweds, left us a great treat for our sweet tooth! This spot is cozy and great for couples and families. There’s also a cute little spot across the street, a hideaway to relax on the Pacific Ocean. You must check out this spot for your next vacation.

    Tawanna2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous location, wonderful host, comfortable and clean accommodations, bargain pricing and even a daily breakfast basket. What more could you ask for on Maui? Just steps from a gorgeous little beach, my suite was one of three in the guest quarters. It was sparkling clean and had everything I needed including a refrigerator and microwave. This place easily sleeps 3-4 comfortably. Conveniently located on the lower road between Kahana and Napili. Tanaz is a delightful and extremely accommodating host who made me feel like family. She provides a delightful daily breakfast basket with pastries and fruit, and didn't hesitate to get me lower carb options when I asked. The king size bed is super comfortable, the shower warm and inviting. The WIFI worked great constantly as well, and there's a big TV in the living room if you need. How wonderful is Tanaz? I accidentally left my laptop under the bed (I waited until the last minute in the ocean to pack, so I forgot it) and she ran it to Fed Ex the next day and had it to me overnight. If you want a fancy luxury hotel room or ocean front balcony, go to a resort and pay $800 a night. But for great, comfortable lodging in paradise, you can't do better.

    Josh2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, super location (right across the road from a great beach and a short drive from a range of bars, restaurants and things to see) and great communication with the host. Thoroughly recommended.

  • Gwen and Christian were awesome hosts. We were greeted by Gwen when we arrived and she walked us through the entire property, including the 'perks' that they offer for staying there. The breakfast's were amazing! I'm not a big breakfast guy, but I ate some of everything they prepared, and my plate was sparkling clean when I was done! The room was spacious, clean and just like the photos. The bathroom was big enough for both of us when needed. We spent a lot of time outside on the deck reading and looking at the view. We had a small refrigerator in our room which was great for leftovers and cold drinks. The location is close to town. We walked to dinner one night to one of the 5 restaurants just down the street. We'll certainly stay again with Gwen & Christian. Mahalo!!

  • Our stay was nothing short of spectacular! Gwen and Christian’s place is the perfect little getaway with an amazing location with easy access to beach and downtown.

  • We can only recommend this accommodation to you. Every morning (except Sundays) you are greeted with a delicious, homemade breakfast. And MaiTais await you every evening. Our room was furnished with a lot of love. The accommodation is great and there is free parking right by the house. And if you ever needed a tip or information for the next trip, Gwen and Christian would always be there.

  • Amazing place to stay! Loved the locations and thoughtful touches! Rode the bikes down to old Lahaina each night! Breakfast was delicious! Such a fun place, we stayed several places along our travels and this was by far our favorite!

  • My wife and I had an amazing time staying at Moana Lani! We loved all the amenities and we appreciated the gracious hospitality we were shown. The breakfasts were perfectly cooked and had a great variety. The ocean view suite was cozy, private, and very relaxing. The bed and breakfast is a short walk to some great restaurants and a short drive to old Lahaina town which has shopping and more restaurants. There are also some nice beaches near by too. We would definitely recommend Moana Lani to our friends and family who travel to Maui.

  • Wonderful location. Very clean rooms and comfortable beds. Gwen and Christian are so nice and attentive to your needs. We highly recommend this B&B. They even had Mia Ties for happy hour. Gwen is a wonderful cook. Thank you for a great stay.

  • Great place. Very close to the sea (but not to the beach), with very friendly hosts.

    Marcin2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in Maui. Convenient to the westside activities. Gwen was a great host and had good recommendations for activities and restaurants.

  • This B&B was so lovely, the beds were SO comfortable, the hammock so relaxing, the Mai Tai’s at cocktail hour were delicious (thanks Christian), the breakfast was homemade, warm and fresh (a great start to our days!) and what a great location, lots of things within reasonable walking distance! We can’t say enough about Gwen, thank you for being so inviting and making us feel welcome in your home in paradise. We hope to visit again, and would highly recommend this B&B to anyone staying in the Lahaina area. Mahalo!

  • Gwen and Christian’s home was the perfect place for us to stay in Maui! Their home provided a quiet place to sleep, delicious full breakfast, happy hour, and other amenities. Kaanapali beach access was only a short drive away (free parking), and the experience was markedly more affordable than the adjacent Kaanapali resorts. We also enjoyed the Lahaina restaurants, which were within walking distance (0.5-1.3 miles). We would love to stay here again if we return to Maui.

  • extremely nice & friendly hosts; free bikes & snorkeling equipment rentals onsite; excellent drinks at night; beyond our expectations…

  • Gwen and Christian were really helpful and accomodating during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble, snorkel gear and bikes readily available and just a short ride down to either Lahaina town or Kaanapali Beach. We’d recommend anyone stay with them. Thank you again!

  • We loved our stay here! Breakfast was amazing every morning. The location is great! Parking in Lahaina can be stressful so being able to use the bikes to get downtown was something we definitely took advantage of! We loved being able to use the beach gear offered to guests. We would definitely recommend staying at Gwen and Christian!

  • Great people and great location!

    Matt2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place was such a great find!! Gwen and Christian have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and easy. It's more of a regular BnB with a simple (but great) breakfast served on the porch (accept for Sunday.) Parking is right in front, and they provide all kinds of extras in case you want to use them - bikes (with locks and helmets), coolers, boogie boards, snorkel gear, Tommy Bahama beach chairs, even paddleboards! We felt like there was all kinds of extra value (and convenience) with all of these items available. We had the smallest of the 4 rooms, which was tight but totally fine because there if we were not in bed, we would rather be hanging out outside in on one of the porches with the view comfy chairs, and the fresh air. Gwen was socializing with all of the guests each morning at breakfast as we all exchanged stories about our adventures and asked questions about what to do next. She also gave us great suggestions on restaurants, local beaches, a whale watch, how to navigate/plan all of the things we wanted to do, etc. We look forward to our next visit to Maui and plan to stay here again.

  • My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Airbnb. It's near restaurants and very centrally located but still far enough away from tourists that you can actually relax. The breakfast was delicious every time. Gwen and Christian give advice and make sure everything is taken care of even to the point of lending me a charger when my phone was acting up. I would recommend this place to everyone!

    Irina2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our room was the smallest but was SO cute and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the lanai as well as being in a perfect location. We took their paddle boards out and it was great! The breakfast muffins are yummy. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Maui!! Aloha!

    Rachel2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! Wish we could have spent a few more nights here! Everything you need for the beach and was so nice to relax on the porches! Aloha!

    Julie2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is the best Airbnb I have ever stayed in... truly exceptional. Beds are very comfortable. Linens are of very high quality. Breakfast is amazing!
