  • This is simply the best secret on the island. It’s a magical, romantic fusion of indoor and outdoor space where jungle sounds and ocean waves give you space to contemplate life over champagne under the bamboo covered porch. It has bonus kitties, and little surprises everywhere. You’re lucky if you can find an open week here. They seriously don’t charge enough.

  • Charming cottage that is in a great location with just a short walk to Manini beach! My wife and I enjoyed our stay. Ron and Karen are very careful to respect your privacy, but are around if you have questions or want a brief chat. They have many very good recommendations for things to do on the island that helped to make our stay special. There are numerous details in this cottage that have history and meaning. Ask Ron about some of the components, they come with a good story!

  • The cottage is so cute and charming to stay in. Karen and her husband were amazing hosts. As we got in, Karen showed us around to the beach and gave us insights of the area. Snorkeling at the beach was amazing. Lots of bright-colored fish by the reef. We had a very relaxing stay and enjoyed the decor of the cottage.

    Samantha2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, great cottage, great hosts. A real gem. Ideal for snorkelling, kayaking, enjoying the sea shore and beautiful sunsets. Encounter with dolphins almost guaranteed.

    Felix2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Bali Cottage is a rustic, comfy space and hosts Karen and Ron are exceptional. They will bend over backwards to make sure guests are comfortable; the location is awesome, shady, and a 5 minute walk to Manini Beach. Everything you need is available in the cottage: coolers, beach towels, boogie boards, and toiletries just in case you forget yours! Go to sleep with the gentle sound of the surf... and wake up with the sun shining in your outdoor shower!

    Robin2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Stay here! It’s definitely more of a “glamping” vibe but so amazing! We loved waking up to the sounds of the ocean and wildlife. Very friendly hosts! The snorkel gear was awesome to have when we hiked to Captain Cook!

    Amanda2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • One of the most unique and memorable places I’ve ever stayed. Karen and Ron were very friendly hosts, who made sure we felt right at home.

    Bob2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • There are not enough words to say how wonderful the Bali Cottage and Karen are. The space is AMAZING, the only negative thing I can think of is now all other Airbnb’s or even hotels or even my own home will all fall short of the magic that is the Bali Cottage. Karen is super communicative and welcoming and even walked me down to the beach when I got there, which btw is also amazing and charming. Literally could write a book on how much I loved my stay. Thank you again Karen for sharing your space with the world!

  • You cannot find a better stay with incredible host and incredible views! This part of our 2 week trip was the best! We had outstanding sunset views every night to where anywhere else you would pay heavy. This condo is perfectly described, it's cute and comfortable like home away from home with access to everything Kona. The beach is your backyard! Alice and Jerry could not be nicer and were such gracious host. During some crazy times of travel and many questions I had they were quick to always respond and helped me time after time to make sure my family and I were taken care of weren't without a place to stay while we waited for ever changing flight updates. Alice was ready to even bring any extra supplies we needed before we left. The condo was exactly like mentioned and matched the photos. We loved waking up and seeing dolphins and the amazing fish. Perfectly spaced for myself husband and 17year old daughter. We had everything in the condo from essentials to beach fun items so we were covered fully. I can't wait to start planning a return Hawaii trip and I can 100% say we will be reaching out to Alice and Jerry again for a second stay! No other rental place or owner will show you such care and thoughtfulness and take care of your condo needs then from Alice and Jerry's place.

    Kristin2020-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • It would be easier to say what I didn’t love about this place, which is nothing! It was truly amazing. The photos do not do the view justice. The beach is truly right downstairs with an amazing restaurant in the condo building right on the beach! The condo had everything we needed for a great stay. Lots of dishes and cookware and even beach supplies! The beach chairs were an amazing touch. Jerry and Alice were very responsive and always a joy to speak with. Their guest book had fantastic recommendations, we tried several including Magic Sands Beach Grill (numerous times if I’m being honest) and Jackie Reys (I think that is the name). Both were amazing.

    Taylor2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • The location was amazing. We woke to the sound of the waves every morning and watched the stars every night.

    Lilly2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful guest experience at Jerry and Alice's Kona Magic Sands place...we did not want our stay to end! Everything you need for a wonderful vacation is included - from a comfortable bed, all kitchen utensils and appliances, very nice linens and towels and anything you would need for a day at the beach. It is hard to describe the views and sounds of the ocean...there were days we just opened the lanai and spent most of the day enjoying the scenery (and serenity). And after a day of touring, it was so nice to come back and just enjoy the ocean, pool and making dinner in their well-equipped kitchen. We would actually look forward to returning each afternoon/evening to enjoy their place and the atmosphere. Jerry and Alice are such sincere and caring hosts... they truly want guests to enjoy their experience. There were tropical fresh flowers waiting for us as well as bananas from their own tree! We were sad when our stay ended and hope to be guests again! A wonderful, fabulous experience! Mahalo Jerry and Alice for sharing your paradise with us!

    Shannon2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing views and place. We saw whales, dolphins, fish, and turtles all from our condo! Jerry and Alice were some of the nicest people Ive ever met, very accomodating and definitely went above and beyond. We are definitely hoping to come back and stay here again.

    Kelsey2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was very relaxing to hear the constant splashing of the waves, which sent us to sleep immediately! The Magic Sands restaurant was excellent, convenient and fun. Great to have an allocated parking space.

    Sharon2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jerry & Alice are the kind of hosts that you remember for years, their kindness and warm communication, they feel like friends rather than hosts. We will never forget the roar of the waves, the breath taking sunsets and the whales and dolphins daily transiting out front. 🐳🌊 🌅

    Darrell2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Jerry and Alice's condo. The views were magnificent - a perfect place to take in an ocean sunset. Was nice to be able to lie in bed and hear the sound of the waves. The location was great too, right next to a nice beach and an easy drive to any other Kona destination. Jerry and Alice were great hosts and provided all the info we needed for our trip along with plenty of suggestions for places to eat and things to do. We would love to stay at their place again.

We are a nicely appointed condo in the heart of Old Kona Town. We are across from the Hulie'e Palace and only a couple of hundred feet from the ocean. There are restaurants, galleries, Kona coffee houses and exotic shopping right out our doors. Tax #: W70176163-01 Price includes state taxes.
This beautiful condo was just fully and expertly remodeled and furnished. It is new inside with sophisticated Polynesian accents. We are in the heart of downtown Kona on the island of Hawaii or "The Big Island". We overlook the oldest church in Hawaii, Mokuaikaua Church, and the Hulihee Royal Palace in downtown Kona. We are steps away from the pier, restaurants and special activities. This is the heart of the old village of Kona, literally in the back yard of the Hulihee Palace. We have one bedroom one bath with large lanai and a new kitchen, fully stocked with all the necessary dishes. Although we are in the core and center of the town, we are quiet because of the church as our closest neighbor. We are on the quiet side of our building orientated toward the church grounds. We have covered and secured parking in a garage and elevators from the parking area. Cable, high-speed internet and a new washer/dryer is included. This is truly a wonderful property unique because of its setting. Our building includes a wonderful pool and barbecue decks which overlook the busy Ali'i Drive and the Pacific Ocean. Step out of the parking garage and you are in the middle of our restaurant and shopping area. Prices include Hawaii tax of 13.42%! This is important when comparing prices because many people add it onto the posted price. WE ARE NON-SMOKING!
I just love living in downtown Kona. We are on the quiet end of the "strip" here along the oceanfront at Kailua Bay. It is quiet in our neighborhood soon after dark. Just a few blocks down along the waterfront are our nightclubs and late-night restaurants with daily live music. It really is a special place, very calm with many shopping, dining and night club options.
  • The apartment is very well equipped. It has everything for short and long term stays. The location is perfect, very close to the shore. Edward has been very available and responsive from the beginning.

    Arnaud2020-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • This unit has everything. Clean and well looked after. It’s in the heart of downtown Kona. Easy to walk the street for local shopping and restaurants. Ed went out of his way to get us special beach chairs that we asked for. We would come back to this unit.

    Caroline2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The access was simple, Edward always responded to texts and questions fast, and the area is right by the beach and a bunch of shops! Such a cool area with lots to do, right on the ocean. Will definitely be coming back!

    Gabrielle2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • This unit is great...an ideal price in an ideal location. It was convenient to get to places, a wonderful unit layout, and an important aspect of our two weeks on the Big Island.

    Jill2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Edward was such a great host for us! We only stayed with him one night. Our flight got in late, but he was still responsive when we messaged him. He was even willing to work with us on our check out time so we could enjoy our day in Kona without having to lug our bags around with us. The place was stylishly decorated, comfortable, impeccably clean and easy to access. Thank you Edward for a wonderful stay!

    Diana2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This clean unit is in a quiet location that it very close to the waterfront as well as many shops and stores. It was comfortably furnished inside as well as on the lanai. Edward has stocked his place with many thoughtful items and was quick to respond to our questions. The underground garage parking was very convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Aloha and Mahalo for visiting my listing. DUE TO THE PANDEMIC I DON'T ACCEPT ANY RESERVATION UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE! "Pl.note that I don't have included the Transient /Ge tax ( 14.50%) in my price since it would reflect in the fee you pay to airbnb. I will collect it upon arrival." This place is nesteld on the slope of Hualalei mountain inmidst of coffee farms, from this cooler elevation (1200ft.) it is only 15 min./7 miles to Kailua -Kona, the nearest Beaches and Supermarket.
This downstair apartment is fully private with private entrance, bedroom has a queen bed, bathroom with bathtub/shower, walk-in closet. Lanai ( Porch) with view. Kitchenette has a fridge, microwave, toaster oven, electric skillet and electric pot, toaster, coffee maker, electric water kettle, rice cocker and a blender. Linen, towels and beach towels are provided. Free wireless internet, use of BBQ, car port. At 1200 elevation it is nice to come home from a day of activities at the beach to a cooler climate and quiet neighborhood to relax and watch the sunset from the lanai with view.
It is located in the midst of the famous Kona Coffee region, just 1 min. north from old charming Holualoa town with many Art Gallerys, a grocerie store, post office, coffee shop, and a wonderful outdoor restaurante (slow food). In just 12 min. ( or 7miles) you are in Kailua Kona town or at the nearest beaches.
  • The apartment is perfect! It is very well equipped, clean and offers a very nice view to watch sunsets. We enjoyed the stay very much and can just recommend it!

    Melina2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • A quiet space a little away from Holualoa Town, a large site with lots of fruit trees and trees. There is a two-story house in that space. The second floor is the host house and the first floor is the guest house. There are many similar homes around the property, in a quiet, relaxed and lovely area away from the hustle and bustle. Located at the foot of Mount Faralai and away from the sea, it is not too hot and cool. It's a bit cool in the morning and evening, so it's a good idea to have long sleeves. Rooms are clean and well cleaned. Cooking utensils are available, and there are rice cookers, microwave ovens, ovens, electric pots, hot plates, toasters, coffee makers, etc., so you can cook yourself without any problems. Since there is also a coffee mill, you can grind the purchased Kona coffee beans and drink it immediately. There is also a cartridge type water purifier, so there is no need to buy water. In addition, there are a lot of beach gear, and beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler boxes, snorkels, cool bottles, etc. were handy. The view from Lanai is a lot of trees underneath, the town of Kailua-Kona and the vast sea far away. Every day I spent watching beautiful sunsets. The lanai is large, so you can eat at the table or relax on the sofa. Rent-a-car is essential, but it is about 15 to 20 minutes drive to Kailua Kona, Keauhou shopping center and beach. Every day I went to KTA, Safeway, Target, Walmart and Kahaluu Beach. Check-in and check-out were easy, and the host lived on the second floor, so there was no need to receive or hand over the keys, just putting the keys on the table. The host woman is very kind and will answer me politely if I have anything, and I'm on the second floor so I can go to listen immediately. It keeps your private well, so you will rarely meet and help you only when you need it. I think it is the best location to spend your time on the Big Island slowly and comfortably, but I think it is a good distance for those who are actively moving to Hilo, Volcano, Mauna Kea, North Kona and many beaches, I went many times during my stay. Especially in the middle of the Kona coffee cultivation area, you can easily go around the coffee plantation everywhere. I stayed for about 3 weeks, but anyway, I found the location, environment, room and host to be satisfactory.

    Hiroshi2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Karoline and her dog Hano are lovely hosts and her place was just perfect for our stay on the big island! Karoline has a beautiful house and guest apartment. Everything was sparkling clean and decorated in a cozy hawaiian style. We cooked a lot and were genuinely surprised by how good the kitchen devices (mixer, pans etc.) are! The whole apartment is very well thought through and Karoline goes above and beyond to ensure that her guests enjoy their stay. She even provided us with fresh fruits from her own garden! She also makes her own soapes and pays special attention to the environment and holding a sustainable houshold. Hano is the cutest, a very friendly, goofy and even a little shy doggo that one cannot help but love. We also loved the view from the apartment. One can see the ocean and watch the most amazing sunsets whilest sipping on a cold Big Wave or Longboard. So, if you get the chance stay here and enjoy this beautiful island from the very best airbnb.

  • Spectacularly natural, lush surroundings.. beautiful garden, flowers fruit and coffee. A delightful place to stay where everything is thoughtfully provided for you.

    Mark2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Karoline’s place was warm and cozy as described. It has a neat view of the ocean, and the property itself is surrounded by lush trees. The house was stocked with amazing coffee beans, which my husband really enjoyed having. Karoline’s dog, Hano, was a cool hang out in the mornings. The place is conveniently located to Kona and other beaches (about 15-20mins drive). Highly recommend it.

    Rasika2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Karolines house is very charming and well kept in every detail, and with a beautiful view over the garden and to the ocean. Peaceful area and close to a nice little village.

  • If you are going to the big island, want a spectacular view, comfortable stay, and a wonderful host than we recommend this cozy magnificent spot overlooking Kona. We will never forget our trip and appreciated every second of our time here. Thank you Karoline 🌺

JUST 2 MILES FROM THE KONA AIRPORT! YOU CAN ARRIVE AS LATE AS YOU NEED TO! The health and safety of our guests, and my family is our top priority. Due to the evolving COVID-19 situation, we are practicing social distancing per the CDC. Our home is in the Kona Palisades Subdivision, directly above the Kona airport. For less than $35 per person (double occupancy) sleeps up to 4 guests comfortably, it is less expensive then staying at “most hostels” here on the Big Island and much cleaner too!
Comfortable, Spacious and Clean, "Private Room" with a shared bathroom. This private room could be shared with friends, and or family members.
Kona Palisades Subdivision is safe and centrally located to most places. Just 2 miles from the Kona International Airport, 3 miles to the closest Surf spot (Kohanaiki), Pine Tree café, Kona Mountain Coffee and Costco. The town of Kailua-Kona, restaurant, shopping and groceries, is just 7 miles away.

  • The beauty of the room and the entire estate is just like other evaluations. It is very beautiful and unimaginable. I hope that I can have such a home in the urban jungle. I think the owner is a very easy-going lady who is very considerate, but unfortunately my English is so bad that I ca n’t talk too much with her. I have to mention her baking skills here, and I will definitely not lose the other chef masters. Every morning, I eat the owner's cakes, cookies, and coffee, and with the excellent manor landscape, it really makes people reluctant to leave! !! !! Unfortunately, we were too focused on other attractions in those days. Quietly lying on the couch in the manor, listening to the songbirds and watching the sunset, maybe it will make people who come on vacation more relaxed. By the way, I would like to especially thank the roosters in the manor, and thank them for waking me up on time one hour or two hours before the alarm clock, and never let me oversleep. I think if there is grilled chicken, then there will be more than 5 stars Haha

  • I booked a room w/ a shared bath at Rhonda's place, and it was the perfect place to relax and get good sleep in the first days of my vacation. Besides the many amenities like a pool and beach gear, I appreciated the level of cleanliness and fresh towels. Rhonda also offered a guidebook library for guests, as well as daily treats. It was very easy to find, and a very comfortable place to stay on the Big Island.

    Christine2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in Captain Cook. The pool was perfectly warm so I was able to swim even in the rain. There are a lot of upfront rules which was intimidating but they are really easy to follow if you are courteous and considerate. Would stay again!

  • Rhonda is the best there is for a bnb. Warm, informative, comfortable. unlike some Airbnb listings, her space is NOT oversold. You relax the moment you get there. This is my second time staying with her a year apart and it is just as good. My only regret is not staying longer!

    Theresa2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda's place is a little paradise in paradise (Captain Cook's bay is amazing). We especially appreciated Rhonda's hospitality, the comfort of her house, the view and the pool! We would definitively love to come back if we ever go back to Big Island again.

    Nancy2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Rhonda is a great hostess. Like she mentions it’s close to the main road so you will hear cars and she’s in the country so there will be roosters.

  • Location is great for coffee tastings...there are tons of awesome (many are free) coffee tours within a couple miles of her home. Her home has a beautiful ocean view seen by the huge window in the living room!

This is a very small space that is meant to serve the basic needs of travelers on a budget. Comfortable, clean, detached studio guesthouse conveniently located close to downtown Kailua-Kona yet removed from the hustle and bustle in a residential neighborhood. 20 minutes from the airport.
This is a very small space, approximately 300 sq ft. Perfect for solo or couple travelers on a budget. It will meet your basic needs with a comfortable place to sleep, shower, a microwave, dishes, refrigerator, freezer, coffee maker, and two fans. The room can get hot during the day, especially during hotter times of the year, yet since it is located at a fairly high elevation it cools down nicely at night. Two fans provided. There is no closet or dresser but there are some shelves that can be used for clothing storage. Wifi provided. Conveniently located a mile and a half from Safeway and Walmart and approximately a 10 minute drive from downtown Kailua-Kona. This is a very old Hawaiian neighborhood and the space is an old structure. Although it is clean and comfortable, this is Hawaii, please do not be frightened if you encounter some ants in the unit. The shower is very old and has collected some stains over the years but I assure, it is scrubbed after each guest checks out. Must be okay with animals as there is a cat that lives on the property and hangs out in the carport area nearby the unit and will most likely come to say hello. He does not have access to your unit if you do not want him to. There are also two dogs that live on the property but you will most likely not encounter them as they live in the main house and stick to the backyard. The houses in this neighborhood are close together and windows are left open for a nice island breeze so please expect to hear some level of neighborhood life.
Old residential neighborhood. Home is located on a quiet cul de sac. 1.5 miles from Safeway and Walmart. 10 minute drive to downtown Kona and 20 minutes from the airport.
  • Amazing place!

  • Hannah’s place was perfect for our one night stay after a long flight from NYC. Easy check in, comfy bed and some nice reading material about the big island made for a short lovely stay. Also appreciated the soft fluffy towels to wash the long plane ride off (it’s the little things :) Thanks Hannah!

    Nitasha2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is excellent if you need a spot to stay close to the airport! The bed was super comfortable and the host provided us with two towels! There were two fans to keep you nice and cool. Ideal for a couple or solo traveller. We were only there for one night and was staying at another Airbnb for the week. The only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars was because it wasn’t the most clean.. it smelled a little musty and there were splatters all over the mirror in the bathroom.. it’s super convenient but I probably wouldn’t stay here for more than a night or two..with that being said the host was very quick to respond and overall was a pleasant interaction/experience.

    Sav2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very easy to get to from the airport using google. Great location to downtown Kona (about 8 min drive). Very clean and quite. Exactly like the pictures! Great space for the price.

  • This place was great as a stop over near the airport--had everything you need! Hannah was great, and answered my call when I got lost. A very gracious host! Thank you!

  • Jeff and Marley (Gentle senior black lab) are awesome hosts! Quite an oasis in the hills above Kona! If it’s open... get on it!

    Rich2020-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great little space, centrally located in Kona. Marley is so friendly, and so are Jeff and the rest of his family

    Timothy2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to honeymoon. Jeff even brought us fresh fruit. Marley is also awesome.

    Adam2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • The location of Jeff’s place was perfect for my trip. I enjoyed the cool nights and lovely view. The bed is quite comfortable and being a tall person I really appreciated the high shower head height. The space is clean, parking in a covered garage was a plus, and being greeted by Marley, their dog, in the mornings for belly rubs was sweet. I did not have need to interact with Jeff much but he was always around so I knew if I needed anything I could easily reach him. As a solo traveler I felt safe at Jeff’s place.

    Nicole2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful stay for the price. Every detail was taken care of, and it is clean as can be! Jeff was a perfect host who was very responsive and attentive during our stay! The property is lovely and we slept very well. It’s super nice to stay out of town for a couple reasons: 1. The crowds and extreme congestion don’t exist at Jeff’s place. 2. The cooler temperatures make for very comfortable sleeping. No complaints 👍🏼

    Laurie Medeiros2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff is very kind and generous. The fruits available are seasonal. We were fortunate to have fresh picked papayas, avocados, guavas, dragonfruit, and bananas. As well as fresh eggs from the chickens. We loved his dog Marley and hugged him everyday. The location had an incredible view and wonderful feel. We will definitely return.

    Juancarlos2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. No improvements necessary.

    Sarah2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff’s place was great and he was an awesome host. He shared some “praying hands” bananas and had ample beach supplies on hand. The place is just hit enough for 2 people for a few nights as we explored Kona and the surroundings. We’d definitely stay here again.

This unit is in the heart of Kona in a small, friendly complex. You can enjoy all sorts of shops, activities, the beach, etc without even needing a car.
  • I had a great experience at Laura's place. Lovely lanai overlooking the first Christian church in the Hawaii Islands that celebrated its 200th anniversary while I was staying there. Would be even more comfortable to have a dining table to eat at and work, especially during the lockdown, but I was able to get creative. The unit was stocked with all of the essentials. Beautiful location a short walk away from the beach.

    Ollie2020-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended, super easy and quick to communicate.

    Justin2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's place is great, the location was amazing and for the rate she is offering it was great value for money. The viewings were infrequent and not a problem. The space is small but with the balcony and pool area there is plenty of outdoor option and it is such a short walk to the main street and beach. The place is not overly stocked with household things, but there is enough to make it work, especially if you are spending a lot of time eating out. Would recommend this place to anyone. Laura was also good to communicate with, checking in was easy.

Centrally located between South Kohala's beaches, and the dining and entertainment scene of Kailua-Kona, the Kaloko Coffee Cottage is at a cool elevation making naps after morning/day adventures a...well a dream! Far from any roads, the dominant sounds are the many birds who make their homes in the surrounding trees. This is a thoughtfully furnished home with an open layout, on a Kona coffee farm, just bring your food and clothes for which ever adventure you intend; leave the accommodations and ambiance to us and Hawaii.

  • What an awesome 3 days we had here! Private, quiet, cool and felt so nice! An extremely well stocked vacation rental with a spectacular view of the ocean and sunset. Comfy bed and really comfy couch. You won’t be sorry if you stay here, such a welcome change from the heat & crowds of Kailua Kona. So beautiful!

While there are further houses nearby, the cottage itself is really private and kind of remote. We would stay in the cottage again.

  • A very nice clean small place to stay. Pay attention to description. Not a place to prepare meals, not eat snacks. But very close to many good restaurants. A little street traffic noise with lanai door open. Host very responsive and helpful.

  • Location can't be beat! Parking is the only downfall. All you need or want is a pleasant walk. Many restaurants, shops, bars etc.

    Scott2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great central location, closer to the beach and the lively part of Kona than I expected. It’s right on your doorstep. There is a pool and BBQs you can use in the building too, which is nice. FYI - there is no oven in the kitchen and the bathroom is small and shares the sink with the kitchen. Still very happy with the place, though. Great value, great location, very clean.

  • Very well located unit to base yourself for Kona adventures!

    Kelly2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The location is superb. The place is clean and has the basic amenities. Ideal for people who are out the whole day and need a place to sleep in. It would be nice to have a frying pan or a medium pot to use. We wanted to buy fresh seafood and cook it ourselves.

    Jeneth2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • If you are a beginner on the Big Island, I highly recommend this. Meals, sightseeing spots and beaches are also available within walking distance of the surrounding area. The host responded smoothly.

My home is minutes from beaches, stores and snorkeling. I would love to suggest activities if you are interested.
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Marisa’s. The place was just as it was described in the overview. What we thought was great were: 1. The location to beaches and great snorkeling. 2. The location to restaurants and shops is a short distance 3. The BED was so comfortable. We slept so well here and had plenty of room to spread out on the king sized bed. 4. There is air conditioning if needed. 5. Easy and private access into the room. We were so thankful to have such a great place to stay for the week and would definitely stay again.

    Rob & Susan2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Marisa's place! It was a perfect cozy amount of space for two. Large bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. The bathroom double sink made it easy for us to use at the same time without getting in each other's way. More than enough bath and beach towels provided. No kitchenette (which we didn't need), so you could tell Marisa put thought into including a nice coffeemaker with pods plus dinnerware and drinkware for two. Location is in a lovely, quiet neighborhood with suburban vibes and a quick drive to restaurants, Costco, and the Kona airport. We were also able to explore northwest and south of the island from the apartment. Private entrance, so we could come and go without worry about disturbing anyone and we enjoyed being able to rest after a day of hiking before heading back out for dinner. Great communication with Marisa when we had questions. Thank you for a great stay, Lana! Would book again if we ever return to Big Island in the future.

    Christina2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Marisa's place is just as advertised. It is perfect for a couple. I particularly enjoyed the thoughtful touches such as a clothes hanger right outside to hang wet towels and swimsuits. There is also a chair and table outside in the garden where I had dinner most evenings; very peaceful and relaxing. The studio is also close to everything (shops, restaurants and attractions on Ali'i Drive) however I recommend getting a rental for convenience. We had Netflix even though we didn't stay inside the apartment during the days because it was too beautiful not to go outside. I felt very secure during my stay with Marisa responding almost immediately to my enquiries. She was very helpful and kind. She even recommended the luau at the Royal Kona resort and I could not have been happier. The neighbourhood is super quiet and that made resting easy.

    Tessenie2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Marisa’s place is beautiful! The bed is incredibly comfortable. Great accommodations! I highly encourage you to stay here!

    Brittainy2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay here. Accommodations were clean. Bed was super comfy. The space was very private (both inside and the outside patio area). Neighborhood was generally quiet except for some barking dogs nearby.

    Renee2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, great space for what we were wanting and in a great location. Marisa was very accommodating and responded to all our enquiries quickly. We loved our stay here and would recommend it!

    Olivia2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Very conviniently located , comfortable place. Marissa is a great host and replied instantly to all my questions.

    Priya2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • The house is as is the photos, cozy, quite clean, near the airport and the city of Kailua. Very cozy, with what is necessary in the kitchen to make breakfast. The clean and large bathroom. It is accessed by the side of the house. We had no contact with Marisa, only the first day we agreed a moment, very nice and friendly. Good quality site price

Aloha! Retreat in a romantically-luxurious and renovated 1 Bedroom apt with a teak canopy CAL KING bed, stainless steel appliances, washer/dryer, a lanai that overlooks the ocean with access into our lush garden with tropical fruit trees, plants many different tropical birds. *Included GET & TAT (State taxes that many other hosts charge in addition to their nightly price) *Included "Welcome Breakfast" with a homemade Island Twist (Macnut Granola, Tropical Jelly and homemade yogurt, etc)
Are you looking for a vacation where you pull into a small residential neighborhood, see how life is lived here at 900 ft elevation just outside of the Kona Village? Then you will love the Harbor View Hale that is nestled in a very tight knit community! It is a private 500 sq ft, 1 Bedroom apartment located in the lower part of our house only shared walls with a laundry room and a mostly unused guest bedroom to our part of the house and its private entrance. We have renovated this one Bedroom with all our love and our utmost priority was to provide you a seamless, worry free vacation with all the luxuries we could fit in. When we picked out materials, appliances, linens and furniture... the priority was always quality, cohesiveness as supposed to what was the cheapest. We are looking for guests who appreciate quality. Well stocked KITCHEN: - Mustard, Ketchup, Mayo, Olive Oil, Vinegar, Himalayan Salt, Black Pepper, Soy Sauce, Hot Sauce, different spices and dried herbs (from Cayenne to Garam Masala), Sugar, Coffee and Tea -Professional non-stick pots -any kitchen tool to cook the usual meal -Storage containers, bags -Cooling elements and bag for your pick nicks -Blender, Water kettle, rice cooker, coffee grinder, coffee machine, microwave, toaster oven, full size fridge with freezer -options to eat on the nice lanai or in the dining area inside
From the Harbor View Hale it is only a 7 minute ride by CAR to Kona town center where you will be able to get groceries, dining, beach activities (SUP, Kayak, Parasail, glass bottom boat, snorkeling, swimming, etc), banks, gas stations, happy hours, pharmacy, parks, tours etc. The closest beach is in town ( Magic Sands, Kona Pier, Old Airport), however our favorite beach "KUA BAY" is just 15 minutes down the "Queen K" highway up north. However the west side of the Big Island is lined with spectacular beaches from 10 minutes away, to all the way up north where you will drive 50 minutes to an hour. The closest and very nice coffee farm is just 5 minutes up on Mamalahoa Hwy. "Hula Daddy" or "UCC Coffee" There is a great beginners snorkel spot in town called Kahalu'u. You can get your first snorkel experience here... if you are more advanced, you can go down south to 2 Step beach, where also in the early morning you may see some dolphins playing in the water. The Airport is 15 minutes away, just far enough that we don't hear or see it. :-) The Kona Marina, you can see from your lanai and is about 5-7 minutes down the hill. This is where many of the dolphin, manta ray, snorkel, deep see fishing trips depart from. To the right of the marina is an old Hawaiian holy ground, where you will often encounter sea turtles. The neighborhood is called Kealakehe or "Harbor View". There is an elementary school about 2 streets away, many families live in this area. We live our daily life here in this house as well, so daily common activities happen. :-)
  • Jaan and Saima's place was very beautiful, with lots of personal touches that made the stay very enchanting- fresh hibiscus flowers, homemade granola, and some fresh local Hawaiian fruits, among other things. And not to mention that Jaan and Saima were themselves very nice and friendly people...I was grateful and thankful to make their acquaintance.

    Justin2020-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home. Amazing touches, especially the spices, fruit basket, and homemade granola. Would love to stay here again.

  • Such a great location! We were only able to stay one night but loved the space. Comfortable bed, incredibly thoughtful amenities, and awesome view. The communication was superb. If we come back to the Big Island we will absolutely stay here again!

  • Great Airbnb if you wanna see a different side to the hawaii life

    Kaylee2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at the Harbor View Hale! While we could tell we were in for a treat from the informative listing, the actual experience surpassed our expectations from the moment we checked in. The Hale is very conveniently located just a few minutes drive from downtown Kailua-Kona. The space is immaculately kept and very comfortable with all the amenities and furnishings you could hope for and then some. Jaan and Saima were very clear and timely with all of their communications and left great information in the Hale about the Big Island and things to do in the local area and elsewhere. Great space, great location, great hosts. We wholeheartedly recommend.

    Nate2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • I wish there were more than 5 stars to give. The entire experience (from booking to checkout) was exceptional. The property was spotless with so many extras, it would take all day to list them. The location was great. The fresh papaya from their tree was incredible. The view was excellent. Can't recommend Jaan and Saima as hosts highly enough.

    Peggy2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jaan and Saima's place was fantastic! You can tell that they care about creating a great experience for guests and have great pride in their rental. Lots of little extras and sweet touches made this place feel more like home, and we would absolutely rent from them again. Mahalo for a fantastic stay!

    Sarah2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jaan and Saima’s place is wonderful! Clean, great location and amazing view. They are very thoughtful hosts and I cannot recommend their place enough if you are staying in the area.

We wish to welcome you to come and stay in our 5 bedrooms large house at the end of a cul-de-sac in a friendly yet quiet neighborhood at a local village uphill. Our home has a vast ocean view and sunset, and a quiet walkway into the woods from our backyard and patio. The high altitude location helps the sea breeze to develop all day and night; yet, less than 10 minutes drives and you will be in Downtown Kona, or the renown Magic Sands Beach, or Kahaluu Beach Park for snorkeling amatuers.
We have two available private rooms with a queen bed each: - Room A: Newly renovated private shower and restroom, accommodate up to 2 guests. - Room B was also newly renovated with a private bathroom which accommodate 2 guests. Please aware that the bathroom is not attached to the bedroom.
We are in a working class neighborhood, where people know the value of hard work. The neighbors leave other people’s things alone. I left expensive tools outside for over a year and nothing happens
  • The view is exquisite!!!! Imagine peaceful mornings on the lanai enjoying freshly picked papaya while overlooking Kona and the Pacific. John and Anne are wonderful hosts. We can't wait to return. Thanks.

    Sue2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • John’s guest room was exactly what our traveling family needed. The room and on suite bathroom was clean and accommodated all of our needs. His home is located close to downtown kona and only a short ride to the airport. The unobstructed view of the sunset was also a plus. If you are looking for an attentive host family, you’ll enjoy your stay at John’s place.

Approved for COVID short term & 14 day quarantine rentals. 400 sq ft condo in the heart of downtown Kona. Hawaiian decor & an eating lanai overlooks the pool. 1 queen bed, sleeps 2. Small complex on Alii Drive has pool, hot tub, cable & wifi in unit. A full sized refrigerator & kitchenette w/ microwave, coffee & basic utensils. Location a "10" just steps to ocean, eats, pubs, stores. FREE parking. Use this link to get $55 off https://www.airbnb.com/c/nday2?currency=USD
Aloha! We are an approved COVID19 Short Term Rental. We are 98 miles from the Volcano on the opposite side of the island with blue skies, ocean breezes, and beaches to explore. If you are looking for a clean contemporary 400 sq ft studio condo in the heart of downtown Kona where a single person can be alone but feel welcome or a couple may want to enjoy each other's company then this AirBnB Slice of Aloha is for you! Our location is a "10" and our price per night is lower than many of the local condos and hotels including the Marriott Courtyard, Sharaton, or Holiday Inn and in an even better prime location. The small condo is a very clean unit with a lot of aloha! The location in the heart of historic downtown Kailua-Kona & you can walk to everything! We are Non- smoking, pet-free, & CLEAN 400 sq ft studio condo. My condo sits off of Alii Drive between Lava Java and Bubba Gumps- again you can WALK TO EVERYTHING in downtown Kona. The property has a pool, jacuzzi, BBQ and beautiful grounds that represent the best of Hawaii with a small sunset beach across the street. Unit has a small kitchenette that includes a full sized new refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, blender, rice maker and microwave and very basic eating utensils- plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, cutlery. ONLY 1 bed, Queen bed sleeps 2. Flat screen HD TV and Air Conditioning too! The small lanai that overlooks the pool and jacuzzi and is a lovely place for some Kona coffee or island drinks. Quiet unit on top 3rd floor/walk up. Internet available in the unit. On-site FREE parking available although space may be limited after 6 PM so grab your spot early- there is overflow parking available too for $5 a day. Public coin operated washer dryer on site $5 for a wash and dry. Restaurants, bars, and small sunset beach just within minutes from your doorstep along with the weekly Farmer's Market. No smoking condo complex is a unique property that really has "old Hawaii" flavor and it is in downtown Kona on Alii Drive. You are right in the downtown area and steps from beautiful water views, sunsets, and nightlife, but my unit is quiet and secluded from any noise. There are 100 individually owned units in the complex in (6) 3-story buildings. Guests, part & full time residents easily mingle in the common areas and many friendships are made. The best part of the property is its grounds- boasting of dozens of native plants and soon to be a very very small botanical garden. My unit is kept clean and updated. All furnishings are Hawaiian contemporary and have much aloha. I live onsite about 4 months a year and I have rented out my condo since 2004 and have enjoyed sharing Kona with many like minded travelers. My friend and fellow owner Ellen cleans and manages my unit when I am offsite and the front desk staff will check you in, get you a key card, and a parking pass. You are in very good hands. At the start of your stay you will be provided with paper towels, a small dish soap, a cleaning sponge and dish towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper, shower soap, clean linens and towels. These amenities are NOT replenished during your stay and the guest will need to buy products beyond the supplied inventory. If 1-2 people staying 2-3 nights, the supply should be adequate. Condo is cleaned ONLY at departure. I bought the studio in 2004 when I was an Ironman athlete and trained 3 months out of the year on the Big Island; I raced several Ironman World Championships in Kona. I later became a USA team cyclist and today I ride for fun. Kona is my home away from home and is a pretty special place for me and it is fantastic to share a part of Hawaii with so many travelers. We provide a nice clean travel option to budget minded travelers. I hope to meet you through Airbnb if you choose my place but either way enjoy Kona and the Big I and its beaches, surf, (URL HIDDEN) is a spectacular island! With much Aloha, Nev
Walking to everything in downtown Kona including coffee, markets, pubs, restaurants, shopping, day spas etc. The Islander has it's own small beach across the street but it is not a great swim beach at all, but you can view sunset and turtles with a keen eye. Best swim beach in walking distance (5 minutes) is at Kona Pier in front of the King Kam (Courtyard) hotel. Paddle board and water sports equipment rentals available there. I go there daily when on island for a refreshing dip. You can also swim the Ironman course from the Kona Pier and many like minded swimmers going out between 6AM and 8 AM. The neighborhood is VERY safe for Hawaii and everybody walks around and feels the aloha spirit in downtown Kona.
  • My wife De & I stayed at Nev's place when we had car troubles on a trip to Kona during the Covid 19 pandemic. She was quick to respond, thoughtful about our situation and communicated all the details of our stay superbly. Self-check in was a breeze and the apartment was super clean, well equipped, and boasted a very comfortable bed, air conditioning, a wonderful lanai with great views of the surrounding property, stocked kitchen, full size refrigerator, and a great cross breeze. The property was safe, secure and in a prime location right on Ali'i drive. We felt lucky to have found Nev's place and would recommend it highly to other guests.

  • Great stay in downtown Kona with walking to restaurants and oceanfront. Host was communicative and did not find anything lacking in the unit. Parking is limited onsite and there's no elevator in the buildings, but not a huge deal.

    Melissa2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nev's place is a very good choice! Very clean and the aircon inside the room helps so much after being outside the whole day, Shops, bars and restaurants are all walking distance from the condo which is really nice. And every time I have to ask something, Nev always replies back and communicate to us instantly, she really know where good places to go! I'm glad I chooses her place for my boyfriend and I vacation in Hawaii!

    Jaztine2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The room is lovely, decorated in Hawaiian style and the grounds are a lush Paradise right in downtown Kona. A gem!

    Kathy Lee2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A fabulous older style apartment in the historic centre of Kona. Ideally located... close to the waterfront, shops, bars and cafes. Had everything we needed for our 3night stay. Nev was really easy to communicate with. Any questions we had were very quickly responded to. Prior to checkin we were given very clear and detailed directions on location, parking and check in, which were extremely helpful given that the location is in a busy part of town. The checkin process itself was extremely easy. The lady on the front desk was absolutely delightful and made everything very simple. Would definitely recommend. Thankyou Nev for a wonderful stay.

  • Jake & Eddie's place is a cute studio that is perfect for a night in Kona. It's only 5-10 minutes walking distance from the pier and local restaurants. All the amenities in the kitchen, living area, or patio that you might need, and check in is easy at the front desk.

    M.2020-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Centrally located! They were able to accommodate an early check in for us too! Definitely would stay again :)

  • Everything you need for your stay in Kailua Kona. Thanks Jake and Eddie.

  • This comfortable little studio condo was outstanding. The attention to details was incredible both with decor and amenities. We spent 10 days here and it was just perfect! Communication was also wonderful. 👌🏻

  • Jake and Eddie’s place is so sweet. Besides its super uber convenient location, it provides everything you will ever need for a nice relaxing beach day. It goes as big as beach pillow blankets to as small as sunscreens. The entire place is tastefully and culturally decorated. If the beach is not for you, the place also has a pool and a very well maintained jacuzzi. Tho there’s no kitchen, the pool has a bbq grill that is available if u wanna cook ur own food. I mean.... what else do u really need when u are literally in the center of Alii Dr.?! Highly recommend this place!!

    Lauren2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The location is the best! In the middle of everything, just across the road from the water, but like a quiet oasis. The thoughtful amenities were wonderful. We especially loved the great guidebooks (including about flora and fauna), as well as local info. Highly recommended!

    Janet2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great Hosts!! Super-friendly and welcoming-wlling to demonstrating to got he extra mile. The apartment: CLEAN!! and THOUGHTFULLY DECORATED. Everythings work as intended. A lot of beach gear freely available as well as shampoos, gels, lotions. A comfy bed Fluffy towels. A kitchenette with many helpful tools / kitchenware. For us it was kind of home-away-from-home. The staff at the reception and on the premises were extremely friendly, customer- and solution-oriented. The (four) BBQs worked fine, the pool area incl. jacuzzi appeared also in a high state of cleanness. We thank Jake and Eddie for everything and would not hesitate to "knock at their door" the next we'll be in Kona. Down-side: the parking solution is not top-notch. But it's truly not the hosts' failure. There are way too few parking spots compared to the number of apartments in the complex. Fortunately, there are options in the neighbourhood - but that's not the point.

    Roland2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Book this awesome place! You will not regret it! Location is their golden key; walk to top notch restaurants, and view the incredible ocean in 1 minute! Clean and Hawaiian Art-Deco touch! Lots if fluffy immaculate towels and blankets! Simply Styling combined with calm meditation... most important and sign of aloha: no cleaning fee❣🤙. Now, THAT IS RESPECT, TRUST, AND MEANING OF ALOHA♥️. Mahalo nui loa🌸 Jake and Eddie🍍

Our place is within walking distance to the village of Kona. Close to restaurants and dining, the beach, and great views. Our complex is located across the street from Honl's Beach Park. We have a spacious backyard/lanai including a gas barbeque for your use. You’ll love our place because of the open layout of the space. It is good for couples as well as families. .
  • We LOVED staying here! It is equipped with just about everything a person could need for a Hawaii vacation...from beach equipment to nice soft towels! It is quiet, yet close to beaches and downtown area. Definitely will book again!

  • We had 6 fun-filled weeks in this lovely condo. We highly recommend this property and want to share that the owners were a joy to work with too. The location of this property is close to town, making it is easy to walk and explore the many shops, restaurants and local activities. The condo’s amenities are great and the rooms are well situated for entertaining or just relaxing. The master bedroom suite has 2 walk in closets, comfortable queen bed, great accommodations for clothing and storage needs. It also has a bathroom with 2 sinks. The guest bedroom provides ample space for anyone visiting too. The kitchen is nice size and perfect for all types of dining and entertaining needs. The living room accommodations were very comfortable for us (2 people) but might be a little snug when accommodating for 4+ adults. However, we want to share that there are comfortable kitchen chairs and bar stools to provide extra seating if needed. The TV’s and media options provided exceeded our expectations. We were very pleased with the overall decor and comfort found in each respective room. This condo also has a wonderful lanai with outdoor table, chairs and lounges. One of the nicest features is there is also a good size propane BBQ. It was great having a BBQ on the lanai and we used it often. The partial ocean views were seen by looking in between other condo complex buildings but partial views were from the master suite, living room and lanai. We were able to see a wide variety of ocean related sights such as whale sightings, parasailing and various water craft seen out enjoying salt water activities. This condo unit is located on the ground floor. One thing that may be helpful to know is the vehicle parking for this unit is located below the unit (condo complex is built on a hill). You climb a relatively steep set of stairs to reach it. The owners have made temporary parking arrangements to handle your loading/unloading luggage needs during check-in and check-out that doesn’t require you to climb the stairs. We were very grateful they planned for those temporary parking accommodations since we had large suitcases to deal with:) However, activities that require carrying things like water toys or groceries could be a challenge depending on weight and number of items to carry. So, you would need to plan accordingly. The overall Alii Cove complex is a gated community that is well maintained and provides a beautiful pool that has an attached, separate pool for children. The seating/lounges around the pool are numerous and there are several large umbrellas to help for those times when you need additional sun protection. We used the pool often and found it to be a wonderful way to relax and enjoy the sun. There is also a small exercise room located near the pool that provides some equipment and weights. Overall, the accommodations were great, the people we interacted with were pleasant and we loved having the added feeling of security knowing we were staying within a gated community. We can honestly say we enjoyed our stay very much. We would definitely consider renting this property again.

  • Great modern condo with everything you need for your vacation. The beds in this condo are amazing 5* hotel quality so you'll have a relaxing night's sleep. Condo is located in one of the best parts of Kona and within walking distance of Coconut Grove. The pool area is fantastic and we spent many relaxing afternoons there. This is the 6th place we have stayed at in Kona and is easily the best. Will definitely stay here again if we can.

  • Best bed. Best views. Best facilities. And best position

    Trout2018-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Jeanette and Jim’s place for a month, and it felt like our home away from home. Everything you could need, and more is available. The kitchen is better supplied than any other place I’ve ever rented. The beds are very comfortable, and the sheets are soft. WiFi was fast, TV in every room!

    Kathy2018-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanette and Jim’s place is great! My husband and I and two young boys, ages 3 and 4, absolutely loved this condo! Jeanette is great to work with. She responds quickly to emails and makes the whole process effortless. The condo had plenty of space and actually felt bigger in person than what it had looked like in the photos. Both bedrooms have really cozy beds with plenty of linens, a smart TV in each room, and air conditioning. The whole condo has been tastefully designed and is clean. They supplied just what we needed for beach trips, including a beach umbrella, 2 mats, towels, chairs, and 2 different sized coolers. They also have the simple things like baggies and to go containers to make packing a beach lunch really simple. The pool is perfect for families! They have a small 1-2 ft. kid pool along with a full size pool and jacuzzi. We would definitely stay here again!

Greetings! Mid August of 2018, the Kilauea volcano stopped pouring hot molten lava over the Puna district and into the ocean. Spectacular couple months. It has been more than 25 years since Kona has been without volcanic smog or "vog." Blue skies and spectacular sunsets have returned to our little fishing village of Kailua Kona. E Komo Mai ~ Come See Us Aloha nui, Trish
***Welcome to Hale Ho'okipa (House of Rest and Refreshment)!*** The unit is attached to the main house, yet fully private with its own entrance. It consists of one bedroom and one bathroom with shower. The bedroom and bathroom are on the same level and are kept cool with an air conditioning unit. The AC is adequate for use in the bedroom and bathroom. Just down stairs from the air conditioned bedroom is the living room area with pull out sofa bed, (linen on hand for sofa bed when needed) fully equipped kitchenette to include full size refrigerator, induction hot plate, microwave ~ and Kona coffee on hand. We suggest a stop at KTA or SACK AND SAVE for a few groceries and bottled drinking water before heading up Hualalai slopes to the house.*** The apartment, garden, and front lawn are all private for your use only. Grocery stores, restaurants, internet cafes, churches, open markets - 10 to 15 minutes away. Our easy blowing trade winds often bring the windward Hilo side (East Hawaii) more clouds and rain, where our leeward Kona side (West Hawaii) of the Big Island is much dryer and tends to be sunnier and warm. (hot in the summer) We have eight micro-climates here on Hawai'i Island, ranging from desert-like areas to tropical rain forest, and even occasional snow at the tops of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. Hawai'i Island, Moku o Keawe (affectionately known as the Big Island), is the largest and youngest in the chain of 8 inhabited Hawaiian Islands. The apartment is located only 3 hours from Kilauea Volcano National Park. Spend a day exploring the park, an easy day trip from the house! Mauna Kea kuahiwi kuhao ika malie ~ Mauna Kea is the astonishing mountain that stands in the calm ~ Majestic 14,000 plus foot Mauna Kea ~ White Mountain ~ is only an hour and a half away ~ where sunsets are spectacular and viewing the heavens from the 9,000 ft Visitors Center telescopes is unforgettable! {{{ AS OF THIS WRITING NOVEMBER 12, 2019, THERE IS NO ACCESS TO THE SUMMIT OR INFORMATION CENTER. Snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, deep sea fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and night time manta ray viewing are a few pacific activities we enjoy. A few hours away - Akaka Falls and Waipio Valley. *Kona is home to the IronMan Triathlon World Championships. The event takes place every 2nd Saturday in October. This ultimate endurance event - a 2.4 mile swim, 112-mile bike and a 26.2 mile run - attracts over 2,000 tri-athletes every year. Thousands of volunteers from around the world help make it a success. We host many other music and food festivals annually. Please take a look online at the Kona Web calendar of events!*** *Also nearby - Hulihe'e Palace, Moku'aikaua Church, ancient Petroglyph carvings, City of Refuge and other important Hawaiian historical sights. *Please be respectful of the land and it's people. We are located in a safe residential neighborhood. There is some road noise, though the large front lawn is normally a good buffer. Other sounds are the occasional rogue rooster, wild birds - cardinal, myna, and papaya. We are 5 to 10 minutes from favorite restaurants like: Splashers, Huggos on the Rocks, Big Island Grill, TK Noodle House, Umeke's, Fumi's Kitchen, Bongo Ben's, Lava Java, and charter fishing hole in the wall, Bite Me. Also a number of awesome wifi cafe's like: Daylight Mind, Kona Coffee and Tea, and Kona Haven. We are 10 minutes from the King Kamehameha Hotel where the best Luau (Hawaiian Feast) and Polynesian Review is held every week. This landmark hotel is also host to the annual Kona IronMan Triathlon World Championships, with several historical sights on the property.
  • You will love Trish, I'm not very experienced with Airbnb, but one thing I know for sure. Trish is the best host every. First of all she is very hostpitable and very easy to talk to. We were staying during covid 19 restrictions and werecso thankful to have her on our side. She helped us so much! The guesthouse is very hawaiian, meaning that you feel home and also the history as the family live here through generations. Thank you so much for everything and just being the lovely person you are.

  • Trish’s place was everything we needed for our stay. Quite, clean, we had an amazing time. It was great after a long day to come back to Trish’s place knowing that we would be comfortable and feeling right at home. • Federico was awesome! I lucked out and had the experience to myself, which gave me such a great personalized time. He knows so much about Milan, architecture, and the influences of history on architecture. As someone who loves learning and building on knowledge, this was super fascinating to me. He was patient with teaching me about perspective points and how to draw confidently in an architectural style. I can't recommend this enough.

    Mayeesha2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Trish was an amazing host! She was very responsive, gave us plenty of local tips and made sure we were comfortable. This is a great accommodation that has all the amenities you will need. During our stay, there was a power outage in the area and within an hour, here came Trish with a lantern for us and texting us updates.. That is such a thoughtful action to take and it was greatly appreciated. Amazing hosts like this make this Air bnb community amazing! Thank you Trish, we hope that next time we visit the island we can once again stay here.

    Shannon2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Juliana and Federico are great hosts and you’ll learn a lot about Milan (as well as practise your drawing skills ) in an innovative and interesting way! They also gave me excellent recommendations for what to do next which were excellent tips! This tour was very fun! Recommended!!!

Stay in the heart of Kona when you book this cozy renovated condo. It has everything needed for a great vacation: a condo pool & grills, a hot tub, a beach within 1/2mi, and less than 2 min walk to all the restaurants. In this condo you can wake up watching the sunrise over the condo's pool. You'll be in the center of it all and yet have your peace in this condo.
This private apartment with bath is newly renovated and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is ideally located within 2 min walk from all the restaurants in Kona. The condo is a 10 min walk from Kamakahonu beach, where you can often swim with dolphins, or the Kona pier where the Ironman World Championship starts. It has a window wall with a partial pool view. Yet this complex is in a quiet and secluded area away from all the noise coming from Ali'i drive. We offer free parking and will provide a parking pass for our guests. The parking in the complex is on a first come first serve basis. There is plenty of parking on Kuakini Hwy by the entrance to the complex as well. We provide beach gear for our guests which includes: 2 beach towels, 2 beach chairs, 2 boogie boards, 2 snorkel gear sets, 1 beach umbrella and 1 cooler.
Our favorite coffee shop is Lava Java which is within a block of the condo. It usually has a musician playing in the morning, and a beautiful lanai. We like to enjoy our Kona Coffee with delicious macadamia nut pancakes while watching whales or dolphins in the bay. Our favorite restaurant for lunch or dinner is Foster's Kitchen. We usually go on their amazing lanai to watch the sunset while enjoying a delicious cocktail!

    Samantha2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • The space was amazing! It was more spacious than I thought it was going to be from the pictures. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals, the bathroom was well stocked, and everything was super clean. Laundry was an added bonus! Although we never got to take advantage of it, the outdoor seating looked very inviting. We would definitely stay again.

  • What a beautiful location for an Airbnb! High in the hills above Kailua with 180 degree views of the Kona coast and the vast Pacific. We were pleased that Kaia's studio was more spacios than we expected, with plenty of space for the bed, kitchen, and sitting area in the "great room" plus an in unit washer/dryer and a large bathroom. The apartment was sparkling clean, check in instructions were clear and communcation with Kaia was easy. A great place to stay!

  • Clean and quaint space with views that make it easy to wake up after a long flight.

    Carr2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We could have stayed forever, that says it all! The apartment is nice, neat and large. Has everything you need for a longer stay and is very tastefully decorated. We found the indicated frog noises to be very pleasant and soothing to listen to nature. The view of the sea is beautiful as is the entire property and the area. We felt very comfortable and were welcomed with open arms. I can only recommend this accommodation and I am sure that we will come back one day;) Mahalo

  • LeeAnne was a gracious host and very easy to communicate, she even checked in to see if we had everything we needed. Great location, close to town but far enough out that it is peaceful and quiet.

    Crissy2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Located in the midst of a jungle, LeeAnne’s place is a special one. Comfortably equipped and furnished, our stay in this peaceful environment was a great one. She was a great host who checked on us and made sure we were taken care of. As indicated in her listing, at night, there is the slight issue of noise from the surrounding wildlife, but nothing that is insurmountable through the closing of windows and barely the need for earplugs.

    Oliver2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely great stay, the location is beyond beautiful and the accommodation had everything we needed. LeeAnne responded very fast to any questions we had. We recommend this listing to anyone wanting a great spot near the best beaches of the Big Island!

  • I loved staying here! It’s clean, well supplied, and a great location. I could easily get to the harbor for my early morning boat trips and the health food store where I picked up lunch daily. LeeAnne stopped by to say hello. She made me feel extremely welcomed. I would stay here again!

    Emily2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nice apartment style stay that is private and clean. It’s a great location and close to town (Kailua-Kona) and the coffee farms. It is on a beautiful property. LeeAnne was extremely kind and accommodating. We had a great stay.

  • This was a perfect spot for us to come back to after the day’s adventures. LeeAnne’s place is quiet and comfortable, and had everything we needed for a great stay. Wish it could have been longer. Mahalo, LeeAnne!

    Sherene2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at this beautiful spot for 11 nights while we explored the island and were in awe every time we pulled in to park! LeeAnne was very friendly, accommodating and easy to communicate with. The place had all the amenities we needed to assist in preparation for our daily adventures and provided a welcomed respite when we arrived back after a long day of exploring. The location of the rental felt very private and was exactly as described. If you read LeeAnne’s through description, there will be zero surprises- we loved it there more than we anticipated. In summation, it’s a perfect little spot, nestled away on the “hillside”, to enjoy a slice of tropical paradise. Fully recommend!

  • Treehouse Ohana is fantastic! It’s a great location and has tons of charm. James & Keiko are outstanding hosts. Extremely friendly, easygoing, and just plain fun to be around. They provided us great local suggestions with lots of detail. Highly recommend Treehouse Ohana!

  • Fantastic hosts for this artsy, aloha filled "treehouse." Great location above Kona with terrific ocean views. Watching the full moon from the hot tub was a highlight. Perfect for folks who need 2 bedrooms, just be aware there is sound bleed between the two.

  • What a great place to stay! James and Keiko are gracious hosts who are very helpful and very welcoming! We really enjoyed our stay here; sunsets from bed, James’ delicious coffee and their hot tub beside an incredible rainbow eucalyptus were our personal highlights. Thank you again James and Keiko for a fantastic experience!

  • James and Keiko were by far the best hosts that we have encountered in our Airbnb travels. Treehouse Ohana was a dream! Fresh fruit and coffee always available, a stunning view of the ocean over the rainforest right from the bed, and a friendly little kitty to keep us company. The treehouse is located in a private area, surrounded by nature, that is still a quick drive to amazing restaurants and beaches. Though we were only there for a few nights, we wished it could have been a few weeks. Thank you James and Keiko for giving us a home in Hawaii.

  • Keiko and James are exceptional hosts and great friends at the treehouse. We would definitely come back to their place just to meet and greet them, have a fun conversation and hang out with them. They welcomed us like old friends, and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The house was clean, fancy, and had an atmosphere of a very special place, especially for art lovers.

  • The treehouse was a great place for exploring Kona and the west coast of the island. James and Keiko were great hosts, providing local tips, access to snorkel equipment and full access to their kitchen (including amazing coffee from their coffee farm!). The view was amazing and the hot tub was perfect for the end of each day.

  • The Treehouse Ohana was an unbelievable jungle getaway for our family. Between the delicious coffee from James’ farm each morning to the perfect sunset view with our dinner every night it was idyllic in every way. The kind and peaceful atmosphere invited our 4yr old to bond immediately with James and Keiko as well as sleep soundly each night to the sounds of the jungle. We may be making this amazing spot a yearly event ;)

  • James and Keiko’s treehouse is MAGICAL. Do yourself a favor and stay here. Not only is the room a tropical paradise, the hosts are absolute superstars.

  • Great location in Kona that is about a 10 minute walk from the main area of the town. It’s a comfortable apartment that felt very homey and clean. We loved the spot so much that we asked to stay an extra night, and Jenna made extending our stay a seamless process. Highly recommend this spot!

  • Jenna’s place was perfect for our stay. The apartment is stylish, comfortable and well equipped. The beach equipment is a really nice touch. The shared pool is great with a beautiful view of the sunset. It’s a nice easy way walk into the centre of kona. Would highly recommend.

  • This place is nice and clean one bedroom condominium located at center of Kona. Has nice kitchen and I was able to find anything I want to use. There is only one ac in the room but it was enough to cover hall unit and their ventilation system was good ! I never met the host but she was really kind and provided answers whenever I asked. Overall, it was very safe and sophisticate looking apartment and I totally satisfied my stay.

    Eun2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place right in the heart of Kona

    Dennis2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • A really nice place within walking distance to a few bars and restaurants. The pool by the ocean was great. Nice little lanai to sit out on with our coffees. I’d say we enjoyed ourselves immensely.

  • Jenna was a great host and communication with her was pleasant and quick. She was very kind and let us check in a little early for our stay. The space was clean and beautiful and the pool right here is right on the beach, it was amazing! We loved our time here so much so, we wish we would have booked a few more days here before venturing on to the Hilo side of the island. Would recommend to anyone who is visiting Kona. Would definitely stay here again. Mahalo for your hospitality during our first time visiting the islands!

Located on lower slopes of dormant Mt. Hualalai at an elevation of 1,560'. Comfortable, cool, quiet, affordable Home-Stay. Shared bath, wi-fi, Roadside Parking! Awning shields deck from rain, you can enjoy tropical weather year-‘round. Cast-iron antique Kohler clawfoot tub gives the term “Hot Tub" real meaning! (holds a brim-full, want us to add our portable bubbler? Might make it even better!). Features a view of spiral arms of the Milky Way! Our Coastal view Sun Deck also serves for tanning!
Home-stay Hostel in Kona Coffee Country! Started out as ready-on-demand berths for sailing buddies, but they're "aging-out" of backpack travel. It was pilot-berth futons in the loft, is now 4 bunks in the Sun Room or twin beds (convertible to a King-Size Bed upon request) in our "semi-private" space (Suite Coffee). You all get to share the magic of an imaginatively re-constructed '40's vintage coffee shack! Holualoa Hostel is a Home-Stay located on the Coastview slope of dormant Mt. Hualalai Volcano - 1,560 feet above sea level. Cool, comfortable, quiet, affordable. Cozy rooms that accommodate as many as 4 people (capacity is 6). Shared bath, Wi-Fi included, Roadside Parking Only! Claw-foot (Kohler Antique) has a milky-way view and a bubbler. Fills to the brim giving a true "Hot Tub experience!" More amenities offered at this property. Weekly rate based on double occupancy. Group rates are negotiable.
Holualoa has attracted artisans, artists, musicians, craftspeople and characters, in large part because of fabulous weather, cool, comfortable sleeping conditions, lush vegetation and convenient location with views to the horizon.
  • I had a great time staying in the hostel. It is 20 mins by car from Kona and you don't have tourists there. It's good as a base where you can sleep and make trips during the day 🤙 Mahalo

  • Rik’s Daughter, Maianna now runs the hostel and she is very nice! She’ll pick you up and drop you at the airport for $20/each way which is super nice as the hostel is hidden a bit off the road. The place was super cute; cozy quarters in the shared guest room which featured 4 bunk beds. Ample charging outlets are provided. The place is a true farm stay with great views and various animals making all sorts of noises. Lyft ran me about $13 from the Kona Marriott back up to the hostel; you will need a car to get back and forth to town, though hitchhiking is also common and pretty safe. The makeshift outdoor kitchen features a community fridge and 2 burner hot plate so you can cook, just keep in mind that it is outside. Covered, but still outside. There is a very friendly outdoor kitty, Lola that will keep you company as you cook. Back inside, there are 2 more kitties, Moona and Meena who will also keep you company! Meena is a cuddler! Overall I had to pretty good stay. The only thing I’d comment on is a good deep clean to rid the bedroom of old cobwebs. This place is easily the most affordable in town!

  • I really had a nice time at this place: Think rustic Santa Cruz chic. The hostel has a room with two beds and a room with two sets of bunk beds. I took the latter. There were orchids in just about every room, orchids are my favorite! You'll get a great hot shower if you want one, and there's a tub out on the patio for a bath. There was plenty of drinking water and cups in my space so I didnt need to go hunting for it. There is also a dog at this place, she's quite friendly and loves having her belly rubbed. ^_^ The host was kind enough to make a space out front for my rental car, he even gave me a lift to pick it up! Super nice guy, really responsive if you have questions. Important things to note: It about a $25 Lyft ride from KOA airport. There is no public transportation along this street, so plan accordingly. If you sleep in the room with the bunk beds, there is a small fan in the room. Leave it on while you're out and keep the door closed. It super helped with the humidity and cut down the mosquitoes dramatically. Also about that room: The daytime sounds are the night time sounds....the wildlife noise was constant while I was there. I didn't mind though, I turned on a soundscape to blend with it and it became a nice sleep soundtrack. If you are sensitive to that kind of noise, wear earplugs or maybe opt for the other room if you can. Wifi worked GREAT. The neighborhood itself is pretty quiet. No need for a key, you'll have access to come back and forth whenever you want. There's also a makeshift kitchen on the patio for you to use. I would definitely stay here again!

  • Rik was an amazing host! He was very kind and considerate. My stay at the hostel was so relaxing and the neighborhood was very quiet. I recommend anyone who is traveling alone (which is what I did). Rik always had coffee made, which was a great touch (: I love Kona coffee! Thank you so much Rik!
