You'll never want to leave The Shoreline Cottage, a charming North Hero vacation rental, at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, packed with a wood-burning stove, charcoal grill, and direct access to regal Lake Champlain. Plan out your day while relaxing on the Adirondack chairs on the property's lawn, which is just 20 feet from the lake's shore. Spend your day wandering the shore in search of fossils. You can walk or drive about three miles to the west side of Isle La Motte to Saint Anne's Shrine for quiet reflection or a fulfilling brunch. In town is Hero's Welcome for Vermont-based gifts and goods. Just nine miles away is North Hero State Park where you may spot white-tail deer and ruffled grouse. Staying lakeside at the cottage may be your cup of tea, however. Made for the laid-back traveler, this home provides plenty of quiet nooks to unwind with loved ones. Play Scrabble or Trivial Pursuit at the expandable card table in the sunroom – until the sun sets when you'll want to watch the sky shift shades from the ample lake-facing windows. On chilly fall evenings, head into the living room for apple cider toddies. If you never get a chance to lounge in front of the TV at home, feel free to do so here with the cable-equipped flatscreen. New England summers are divine for fixing sweet corn and clams over the smoky charcoal grill. Behind the gorgeous cabinetry of the fully stocked kitchen are all the tools and dining ware needed. This single-level home has two bedrooms that will accommodates four adults and two additional children. The master bedroom features a cozy queen-size bed in which guests can go from their pillows right out to the lake through a sliding glass door! The second room has two twin beds, and there's a pull-out sofa in the living room. A maximum of six guests are welcome here! Up to two family dogs are also welcome here for a small nightly fee. Other amenities include a full bathroom, outdoor shower for a post-swim rinse, and WiFi. This is a great rental for avid bikers who enjoy rides filled with incredible views. In addition to Isle La Motte attractions, you'll find even more with a 45-mile drive from the cottage. If you love a good scenic drive, take a 24-mile trip down to South Hero or 45 miles into mainland to Burlington. This Lake Champlain vacation cottage will invoke serenity and good memories for years to come. Book soon! Meals & Room Tax License #MRT-10082226
  • What a gem. Nice and quiet dead end road. We saw only a handful of vehicles the entire time. The place is rustic, and they emphasize that in the description. They do clean the place very well. This is a camp and you are going to see a spider or two, but that comes with the territory of a camp on the water. I prepared myself for a musty smell -- but I was wrong and glad I was, no musty at all. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen is perfect. One of the days we stayed, the wind was at a constant 20mph, up to 45mph and you would have never known -- this place is not drafty at all and we stayed comfy with the efficient and easy-to-use woodstove. If you like to take walks with your pup, the road to the right and left are nice and flat, especially if you have an older dog. We brought all our food with us and cooked every meal. We learned later of a local store that carries a full butcher shop and really great food. Next time we will just shop there on the way to camp -- we definitely plan on going back for a week or so and explore more of the State Parks. Thank you for opening your camp and trusting us with your property.

  • Great place! Super relaxing and refreshing.

  • This cottage is quiet, cozy, and a perfect summer retreat! Great views looking out onto Lake Champlain from almost every room in the house. Charcoal pit outside is perfect for grilling. And it’s just steps away from the water to enjoy a swim!

  • This cottage was the perfect getaway to unplug and unwind! We enjoyed sunrises over the lake and cooking all dinners on the outdoor grill. Opening the windows and French doors with provides screens created the perfect breeze. Not too hot at all! When I did have a question about parking the host was responsive right away!

  • This is a great find! We are totally going to be going back to this place!

  • A beautiful spot off the beaten track. So quiet! The sound of the lake lulls you to sleep.

  • Great place to stay when you're visiting the island. Convenient when you're venturing off, too. Right on the water, beautiful sunrises.

I have a cozy, quaint, country chic home that I take great pride in. It's a 7 minute walk to Lake Champlain, the new marina, Bayside Pavillion Restaurant and bar, a fishing pier as well as a local park with farmers markets and running paths. A 5 minute drive brings you to the heart of St. Albans town. Surrounded by another park, breweries, shops and restaurants. I live on a very quiet street. 40 minutes to Jay Peak and Smugglers Notch.
I am very accommodating and want my home to feel like yours. I have full screened in porch, grill, fire pit, garden and fenced in yard. I have a cozy living room with an electric fireplace that gives off a nice ambiance. I have a fully functioning kitchen that I am happy to share! I do live in my home with my two dogs Wesson & Tucker, a boxer mix and a lab that only bark when you come to the door!
I live in a very sweet, safe area down near the lake! I’m located on a quiet residential side street! When you are relaxing in my backyard or screened in porch, you will think you are in you’re own little private world!
  • Tamara is a wonderful host! She truly makes her home feel like yours while you are her guest. Her home is beautiful and the bedroom for Airbnb is very nice with a comfortable bed. She added many thoughtful touches to the space as well, such as snacks and toiletries. If I am ever in the area in the future I would absolutely stay here again!

  • Very homey and welcoming. Price was great. Great place for relaxation and solitude. Close to everything.

    Melissa2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is the best place I'm gone since I use RB&B (few years)... The place is great, clean, comfortable and Tamara had so many way to make us at ease... Thanks a lot for every things... Tamara, Wesson and Tucker 💕

    Catherine2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • I don't know where to begin with my praise for Tamara's outstanding hospitality, her attentiveness and eye for detail! Having been her first guest, I for sure was treated like a princess! In fact, the room is so cozy and just perfect for one person. I could even get some work done at the desk by the window (I just loooove the view!). The skylight added to the snugness, especially when it rained or hailed. There are even little snacks and toiletries provided for free. Everything was easy, practical and clean: sharing one bathroom, cooking in the oh-so-well-equipped kitchen or chilling in the spacious living room. A perfect place for dog lovers as Wesson and Tucker love to be around people and indeed want to be petted all day long! :)

  • Kathy’s space on Isle La Motte is a peaceful, private and beautiful getaway. Kathy has a great gift of hospitality and extends the warmest welcome to guests. We felt immediately at home and comfortable like visiting a long time friend! Highly recommend this place on the most amazing island in Vermont!

  • We loved our stay at the meadow house... Such a mellow place! Kathy and Mark were super friendly . I would recommend this place all around

  • Kath’s Place was wonderful with a serine view of grassy field, exactly how it’s been described. We had everything we needed for a weekend stay. We loved it and plan to visit again.

  • This stay was the best of our entire 30 days of travelling. It was surprisingly and pleasantly quiet. The check in process was convenient. We were amazed that the fridge was stocked with water, beverages and all the ingredients for a home cooked breakfast. The space was clean, bright and very private. It is close to Ruthcliffe Lodge and Restaurant, where we were able to dine and entertain family. We wish that we had been able to stay longer! Location is perfect for doing anything in the Champlain Islands.

  • Kathy was a wonderful host! She was very accommodating and gave me some great tips on what to do around the island! We loved the location and it was definitely secluded enough where you felt like you were on the island by yourself! Would highly recommend to anyone looking to unplug for a weekend getaway!

Watch the sun set over the water at this gorgeous lakefront home in the beautiful town of Alburg! • This house is amazing. So much so, we will probably schedule future vacations back to the US from overseas just so we can stay at this beautiful home again! The kitchen was well-apportioned, to include food staples, but also had plenty of cabinet space to personalize your grocery purchases. The jetted tub was delightful, the bathroom was clean and had an abundance of towels, as well as laundry supplies. Also, there was a nicely stocked medicine cabinet with first-aid supplies. There were dressers in every bedroom room and a wardrobe in one room for any hanging clothes. In addition, there was a long row of coat hooks in the entry to accommodate your coats without taking up precious closet space. The giant kitchen table was great for our large family, and the two bar counters were perfect for working puzzles without having to take up table space. We also enjoyed having the shelf-space in the kitchen hutch for our homeschooling supplies, as we spent about three-weeks here while homeschooling 4 of our children. I cannot express how beautiful the sunsets are. We spent so much time outside, playing near the water (it was frigid in March and early April). We enjoyed the fire pit near the lake and didn’t need to worry about our young children playing near the lake, as the water is very shallow at this location. We will return. We are already dreaming about it!!!!

  • We had a wonderful stay! It was relaxing. Beautiful view of the lake, an hour from Montreal and Burlington which we visited. It was off season so we had the entire area to ourselves!

  • The location close to the Canadian border was great as it was a short trip to the cottage. Beautiful location on Lake Champlain and gorgeous sunsets over the water. The drives to both Stowe and Burlington were not far (1.5 and 1 hr respectively) and very gorgeous in October. The mountain pass to Stowe was stunning. The cottage is amazing inside and very comfortable. Waking up to a lake view can't be beat.

Beach shoes recommended. Docks not in yet due to unusually high water. Swimming off of boat ramp, great for canoes, kayaks! Bon Fires on the beach.
Lovely historical area. 60 miles to Montreal, excellent restaurants, great shopping. 50 miles to Lake Placid.
  • Victoria was one of the most caring and accommodating people I have ever met! She was extremely thoughtful when it came to having everything I needed to be comfortable. The view of the lake was gorgeous and I enjoyed the comfort and styling of the home. Next time I'm in the area I know where I will be staying!

Beautiful and historic Fisk Farm on Isle La Motte, Vermont overlooks Lake Champlain. Your stay in one of our two picturesque cottages helps to support our work of historic preservation, land conservation, and community well being. In May, June, and September we offer minimum two night stays in our charming Shore Cottage overlooking the lake are $125 per nite. In July and August the minimum stay is a week from Saturday to Saturday at $850 per night.
Though Fisk Farm is a great place for families with kids, the Shore Cottage described here hosts only two people. For a larger group consider the Stone Cottage, our other listing. Fisk Farm is a heritage site that was once the home of the prominent Fisk family, who on past occasions hosted receptions for noted politicians such as President McKinley and Vice President Theodore Roosevelt. The once beautiful stone house, built in 1803, was ravaged by fire in 1923. Today the stone ruins offer reminders of an historic past. The renovated Horse and Carriage Barn with its two grand pianos, hosts concerts and art and craft shows. Cultural heritage events are presented by the Isle La Motte Preservation Trust (ILMPT), a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the natural and cultural heritage of the area. Fisk Farm also hosts Cultural Heritage Programs which are sponsored by the Isle La Motte Preservation Trust. For a listing of arts and musical events view the summer arts schedule on our website.
We are on a quiet country road which wends its way along Lake Champlain. Walking, bicycling, and swimming (in summer) are favorite pastimes. One guest just wrote, "There are few places which have had such a profound effect on my spirit in all my years of travel. Kyoto is one. Shojoji Temple in Futsukaihi is another and now I can add Isle La Motte to this list. A wonderful place. We will return and look forward to it."
  • Linda cabin offers an amazing view of Lake Champlain unfortunately for us the weather for the days we stayed we not very friendly for beautiful sunsets but non the less the location is beautiful! Only draw back was the location for parking was a bit of a walk to the cabin not much of a deal for me but if you have trouble walking just a little heads up for you. I would definitely chose to stay with Linda at the Fisk farm again if I am ever back up that way! Great amount of history and the walk though the quarry was like walking back in time.

  • This place was a wonderful waterside cottage. Overall, if you are alright with a bit of a more rustic vibe then this place is perfect. Keep in mind to bring some food with you as the Island is not ripe with places you can easily get a snack and the nearest gas station is about 20 mins away. A personal favorite of our stay was the amazing little fire pit beside the water, totally beautiful

    Chris2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at this cottage. It is right on the lake so the views, especially at sunset, are incredible. Highly recommended for a stay as a couple looking to get away from city life for a couple of days.

    Veronica2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to get away from it all this is the place! A beautiful and peaceful place.

    Alan2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • The sound of the lake lapping in the shore and ready access to a swim and picturesque roads for biking —not to mention proximity to sites of geologic significance that the host herself helped to preserve— made our stay just about perfect. We lucked out with the weather; we brought our own food and made do with yogurt, cereal, and sandwiches. You’d be hard-pressed to make a full meal, but for our purposes it was just fine. We’re happy to find our way back.

    Melissa2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Peaceful retreat removed from the hectic hurried outside world. The deck porch offers a view of the opposite shore and you are only steps away from a dip in the lake. There seems to be a constant cooling breeze from the lake and the sound of the water lapping at the stones on the shore is soothing. Very basic kitchen requires some creativity to put a meal together, but the electric skillet and toaster-oven can do the trick. Somewhat dated electrical service is offset by good wifi service. If you like tranquility, you will love it here!

    Beverly2019-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect little place in a beautiful environment. The view is stunning, the place is super cozy, Linda is a great host and super friendly!

    Gabriella2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Linda’s place is really special. A cute cottage with a spectacular sunset view. Lots to do and explore around the islands. One little note. I found the local tap water a bit « soft ». Consider bringing some bottled water if that’s something you care about.

An entire single bedroom suite walking distance from Downtown Plattsburgh. This private apartment is clean and well lit. It also has its own off-street parking to make getting around easy and worry-free.
Our space is unique because of its size, look, and location. Although the apartment only has one bedroom, guests have considered it "comfortable and cozy." Other notable features of the home include the variety of decorations we have added which give it a unique sense of character and a relaxing mood. The location is prime because it is walking distance from downtown Plattsburgh which is known for its restaurants, bars, clubs, and shops.
The suite is located next to Jabuts Deli and Grocery, half a mile from Downtown Plattsburgh (restraunts, bars), half a mile from Plattsburgh State, and about a mile from Lake Champlain. It is also a short driving distance from Adirondak Park (hiking, sight seeing).
  • Cute place, close to everything.

  • Jeffrey’s place was extremely nice! My boyfriend and I went on a spontaneous Plattsburgh trip and thought it would nice to stay over night. After failing to find a decent hotel, we searched for and Airbnb and found Jeffrey’s place. Being a little worried about the night being confirmed, Jeffrey was very kind and quick to let me know that our stay was confirmed. Completely recommend and will want to stay again!

  • This is a great space on Lake Champlain. The house is friendly and has everything you need for a great vacation. The lake is just few steps from the front door. During our stay the lake was very clean and generally clam. We enjoyed time in the water as well as hanging out in the yard with a fire. The fenced in yard was perfect for out two pets, they loved the space as well. We are looking forward to returning to the Cozy Cottage in the future. Five stars from our entire family. • This was truly as advertised. My family of 4 with 2 kids age 10 & 6 had the most amazing vacation. the home was "Cozy" with room for everyone to relax at the end of our adventurous days. Fanny had the most amazing welcome basket with snacks and treats for the whole family. Several welcome touches made us feel at home. The kitchen was fully equipped as was the bathroom. Plenty of towels(bath & beach use) and standard home amenities. loft with twin beds are great for kids giving them their own space. Strong WiFi throughout a plus these days. HOT WATER was ready for everyone to shower. Better than some hotels. Room controlled temp in each room was a big win. The house is so ready for guests it will save me on packing next year. We did make use off all the extras. Fires every night (good dry wood provided-another win). Kayaks, water toys and lake float were added fun. Large fenced in yard was perfect for our small dog. He had plenty of room to roam. Too many extras. Please make use of the amazing location. We rock climbed at Smugglers Notch, Zip Lined in Stowe, canyon climbed and river rafted in Ausable Chasm, Ice Cream from Ben & Jerry's. All of these amazing experiences are about 1 beautiful hour drive away through some of the most majestic sites in our country.

    Deb2018-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy cottage was a big hit with me, my husband and my grandkids. Fanny thought of everything. So much to do and see. We were able to cook and grill our favorite meals since the kitchen was so well equipped. We definately will be back next year.

    Mary Jo2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Fanny’s place was very well maintained, clean, spacious, had plenty of towels and a fully stocked kitchen for all cooking needs. A welcome basket was waiting for us when we arrived which was a nice touch. Check in was super easy. There was a new double kayak for us to use and a floating platform out in the lake. The beach is rocky which was fine for us but if you are looking for a sandy one, Alburgh Dunes state park is just a short drive down the road. The cottage sits on a large piece of property, wooded on both sides so you really cannot see the neighbors. There is a road in between the house and lake. This was not an issue for us but those with small children may want to take note. The sunsets here were spectacular! Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Fanny’s.

    Michelle2018-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Franny and Brian were great hosts: easy to communicate with, a nice welcome basket filled with goodies for the adults and kids, and really nice linens and towels. The house was spacious enough for everyone to have their own space and the kitchen was centrally located and stocked with everything we needed. The beach was great for swimming and we had our paddleboard and kayaks to cruise around on. We had a great trip!

    Abby2018-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Fanny's place is really picture perfect and super clean! Also it was a super hot week when we stayed (6 days at 90+ degrees!) and the AC was great. Awesome lake access right across the street - we took advantage every day. One note for families - the street between the house and lake is a bit busy - and cars take the road a bit fast. So just be aware! We had a great time - would be happy to come back again.

    Matt2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is the third time we have stayed on the islands, but first time staying at Fanny's place. The first reaction of every member of my family was, 'wow!' We opened the door to the perfect lakefront vacation house. It smelled fresh, new, and clean from the moment we walked in, and we found everything we could possibly need or want, and then some, available to us, including a generous gift basket brimming with a delicious assortment of goodies. The location was terrific - great swimming, kayaking, and fishing; beyond amazing sunsets; and excellent proximity to some great (and relatively flat) biking around Isle la Motte. We were able to explore Burlington, Montreal, and the Champlain Islands with ease, had another fabulous dinner at the North Hero House, went horseback riding at Breakaway Farm, went fishing with Capt Mick, hit the farmers markets and stocked up on succulent produce and (of course) maple products, hunted for fossils at Fisk Quarry and along the waterfront in front of the house, spent evenings around the firepit and chiminea, beheld beautiful sunsets sitting on the shore with cocktails in hand, and enjoyed the sights and sounds of a fantastic thunderstorm from the comfort of Fanny's beautiful home. We felt very fortunate to have found Fanny's place, and appreciated every minute of our stay. It was a terrific home base to a memorable and fun-filled family vacation.

This contemporary style chalet on a private road, fireplace, sunroom, TV/DVD, gas BBQ, Hardwood flooring, portable fire pit. NEARBY:sandy beach, golf, bird sanctuary, antiques
Spacious yard for playing sports. This is an a chalet style cottage/cabin that usually brings about all the whims of mother nature. That said this cabin is not free of dust ,dirt and cobwebs even though the chalet is cleaned from top to bottom on any given day. The chalet is located near a bird sanctuary and the surrounding area has more than your fair share of spiders, squirrels, chipmunks and other critters.
  • Great, private location with great views! Very quiet neighborhood. Trevor was very responsive to my questions. The AC in the loft area is a God send as the temperature soared to 90°!

  • This well equipped, cozy chalet is the perfect retreat for a couple, family or group of friends. We enjoyed the easy access to the islands, state parks, and small New England villages. Burlington and Montreal are within an hour for more restaurants and culture. I appreciated the ample kitchen supplies and spices for ease of cooking. Bring firewood for an indoor or outdoor fire :). Only issue I'd share is that if anyone in your party is allergen sensitive, there is a mold smell emanating the house. There are plenty of candles and once you're inside for awhile, you adapt, but those with mold allergies may be affected differently. Otherwise... enjoy!

    Meta2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • The house has all of the basic amenities and is very welcoming. It's nestled in a scenic lakeside community, where any necessities are readily available within a 20 minute car ride. My family and I stayed for five, restful nights and we all enjoyed the serenity of our surroundings. If you feel you miss the "bustle" of a city, Montreal is a little over an hour away. This is the perfect town to be able to access the best of both worlds. The picturesque scenery is truly breathtaking- especially if you decide to watch the sun set over Lake Champlain!

  • My girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed our time at Trevor's place. The house was neat and easy to access. The lake was pretty easy get to, although it was a little unclear where the best place to access it was. We would stay again for sure.

  • This cabin is rustic and peaceful. It's across the road from the lake with some seating on the porch so you can look out and watch the sunset. The loft bedroom was lovely with ample room to walk around the bed on all sides--more room than in the photo. The plumbing is lake water, so you do need to bring your own potable water. It's a perfect location for birdwatching. Super quiet, yet close enough to Swanton to stop in for groceries or a restaurant. From here, you have easy access to the Lake Champlain Islands. We even took an evening jaunt into Quebec for dinner on night.

We call it "The Schoolhouse:" once a one-room schoolhouse and now a VT lake getaway! Private and close to activities: sandy dunes beach (1 mi), golf (1 mi), two vineyards (23 mi), Montreal (~1hr), beautiful biking roads, shared dock, sunset views over the lake, and back yard abuts 20 acres of bird-filled conservation meadows. Good for couples, bikers/boaters, families w/ up to 1 child. 1 bathroom with shower; cozy and bright. Charcoal grill, kitchen, and Adirondack chairs, WiFi, stereo, A/C!
This cozy renovated house is a former one-room schoolhouse that now has separated rooms for kitchen/dining and bed/sitting area, plus a fully enclosed sunporch and wrap around deck. It's outfitted with beautiful shaker furniture handmade by NA Durso Vermont Furniture Makers (Jesse's dad!) and all the utensils to cook delicious meals in the kitchen and grill on the deck just out the kitchen door.
Neighbors Joey and El on the left and Andrea and Donna on the right are sweet as can be, you won't see too much of them but sometimes walkers and bikers take a turn down this relatively quiet road - usually because it's <1 mile to the dunes beach (only sandy beach in the islands, the rest are smooth stone beaches)! Check out the Isle La Motte historical houses, cider tasting and apple picking, north hero boating, and south hero wine making operations. Take a day trip to Burlington or Montreal in ~1 hour.

Catch spectacular sunsets over Lake Champlain at this Isle La Motte cabin, a beautiful lakefront escape with an amazing view, private beach, a tree-lined deck, dog-friendly accommodations, and a stunning island location ideal for anglers, swimmers, cyclists, and hikers. This Vermont retreat sits among the treetops on the western shores of Isle La Motte, with 750 feet of lakefront beach on a small, protected peninsula and cove. Here in the tranquil Lake Champlain Islands, you'll be just 46 miles north of downtown Burlington and 60 miles south of beautiful Montreal. Secluded, spacious, and full of sunlight, The Bird's Nest shares its property with an historic farmhouse that dates back to 1835 (but the two do not share any common walls). Inside the open living space, you'll feel right at home under lofty ceilings, on several plush sofas, and beneath large picture windows that frame the lake and the trees. Wake up each morning to sip your coffee in the living room, where you can spread out the newspaper on the coffee table, play a few tunes on the stereo, or use the WiFi to post photos. Grab a book from the shelves, flip through the channels on the flatscreen TV, and enjoy the peace and quiet of island living. Flip pancakes with your loved ones in the full kitchen, where you'll find standard appliances and a dishwasher to take care of the chores. Indulge in some local maple syrup as you eat breakfast in the dining space for six, and throw on your bathing suits and flip-flops for a day of fun on the lake. Soak in the summer sunshine, dip your toes in the cool water, or spend the morning fishing along 750 feet of lakeshore. Return home in the afternoon to fire up the gas grill, set the patio table, and enjoy an al fresco dinner at sunset on the deck. Please note that as this home's water is drawn directly from Lake Champlain, while perfectly fine for bathing, doing dishes, etc., we do recommend bringing your own drinking water. With two bedrooms, a loft, and one full bathroom, this Isle La Motte home will accommodate six guests, and a dog is welcome for a small nightly fee. There are two bedrooms with double beds. There's an additional double bed - which is in a sleeping nook - and a daybed with a trundle in the open loft, as well as a bathtub/shower combination in the full bathroom. Thanks to its remarkable position surrounded on three sides by Lake Champlain, The Bird's Nest is tailor-made for lovers of Vermont's outdoors. Spend your days sailing, fishing, birding, or swimming off the shores of your own private beach, or hop on your bike to tour the island's quiet country roads. Make a tee time at Alburg Golf Links just five miles north, or spend the morning at Alburg Dunes State Park only eight miles east. The Historic Fisk Farm also sits within walking distance one mile down the road, offering concerts, arts and crafts shows, and performances and exhibits each Sunday afternoon in July and August. • The water front location is what makes this place awesome. Beautiful views, lovely yard and access to the beach. Perfect for time with friends and family.

    Aruna2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great. It was charming, secluded, great location with a secluded beach. Even though it shares the property with another house (not sure if it’s a rental or not but no one was there while we were there... we had complete privacy), it still felt very private and was great. At first, I was a bit concerned because there were only space heaters and the fireplace was not able to be used, it turned out to be just fine. I’m not sure if it’s because we were there as the seasons are changing and maybe fireplace is available during the winter. If that’s important to you, I’d reach out to the owner first. Either way, the place stayed cozy and warm w the heaters that were provided. In fact, there were points where we didn’t even need them. The kitchen had everything you might need. A ton of pots, pans, dishes, wine glasses, etc. We did some cooking and it was nice. Waking up in the morning and looking out at the great view of lake Champlain was amazing. The private beach on a peninsula was great for stargazing by the fire pit. There were chairs already on the beach for us. On a clear night, you can clearly see the Milky Way as there is minimal light pollution. The place has plenty of room and could sleep quite a few people. The hot water worked great and there were plenty of towels and blankets. I saw some complaints or concerns about cleanliness of the place and I disagree. You’re staying in an older farm type house.... it’s not going to be perfect. I thought it was very clean and I didn’t see any bugs, gnats or anything like someone mentioned. Maybe it was taken care of but we had no problems. Overall, great stay and I’d highly recommend it if you’re looking for a secluded, charming, waterfront stay that is nice and relaxing. About 20 min to alburgh and hour or so to Burlington. Great scenic drives all over nearby.

  • Great location right on the lake. Rooms are very small and the beds are more of a one-person size but it worked for us. Kids loved the space. But the location is the best thing about this listing. The house had everything we needed too.

  • Best vacation time ever. Magical. Magical. We relaxed. The children relaxed. We enjoyed being with one another as a family. It was a perfect and lovely space. Truly the best rental on the island by far. Private and secluded. The beach was amazing. Kayaking, biking, running, hiking. We played games. Had a treasure hunt.

  • Carrie’s house was warm and cozy, very stylish and homey! She left lots of little extras for us to enjoy! There were plenty of kitchen supplies and extra bedding if needed. Lots of local information and brochures. She was quick to respond with our questions. You can tell she cares for the comfort and enjoyment of her guests. ☺️

  • We loved the house and all of the amenities. It was just so comfortable I didn’t even feel like I was away. Having the dogs with us was also great and there is plenty of space for everyone to be comfortable. I have stayed in many places but yours takes the gold for many reasons, a beautiful view, quiet area, comfortable beds, cozy fireplaces, your timely responses and suggestions really helped! Your attention to detail is well noted and we loved all of the artwork. The whole family enjoyed it and we plan on coming back!!

  • If you love older country farmhouse that's on a lake then this place is perfect! Perfect for summer ( not sure if they have a boat dock ) plenty of places to launch your boat! Perfect place for winter sports too! Did have a little glitch, one was mother nature and the other was me I blew a breaker, Jessie the handyman fixed us up in no time! This home isn't fancy but cozy and plenty of room for your family and pets! We've already started discussing next winters ice fishing trip! Carrie thanks for sharing your home! Hope to book next winter!

    Denise2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The space was fabulous, despite Mother Nature dropping over a foot of snow at the beginning of our trip. Any small issues were handled quickly and directly and communication was unmatched. Carrie took the time to research and give feedback on local information as well.

    Sean2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t say enough positive things about Carrie’s home - the location, decor, cleanliness, amenities, the fireplaces, the beds, Carrie’s unparalleled hospitality, and the VIEW are all incredible. My parents stayed for two weeks while visiting NY and had the most amazing stay because of Carrie’s hospitality and her warm and welcoming home. Carrie went above and beyond to make their stay special with lovely amenities, plenty of food, wood for the fire, and prompt and caring communication. I have stayed at dozens of Airbnbs across the world, and I can say with confidence that Carrie’s home is the best. This is truly a gem! Thank your for providing a wonderful home for my parents and I to share plenty of laughs, walks along the lake, sunsets, talks by the fire, and wonderful meals. We will be back soon!

    Kelly2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Carrie is the perfect host! She is quick to reply and very helpful. Her house was very stylish. There are two fireplaces and a bbq outside for which she leaves kindling and wood. Although we had to buy some lighter fluid and coal, there might be leftovers from earlier guests for you. We enjoyed using the fireplaces a lot! However you don't necessarily need the fireplace for heat. The house is warm enough for winter without the fireplace. The lake is also quite beautiful and just around the corner.

  • We loved our stay here. It was so cozy and just a really lovely escape to unplug and relax. It is a little older meaning it is smaller than some modern homes, so with 3 adults and a baby we were comfortable, but I don't think you would want a much bigger group than that. The area is really beautiful. We stopped at the local market for some groceries and the people there were so nice and recommended some nice places to see. We really loved going to an apple orchard nearby, too. The owners were also extremely helpful. Something was missing, and they brought it to us very quickly. We really enjoyed this home!

  • Thank you very much Felix for your hospitality. Your support before and during our stay was very reassuring. You are a remarkable host. When to the property, it is a corner of paradise on Earth. I recommend to all those who seek a refuge from the dynamism of the weeks of work. Enjoy, it's incredibly peaceful and comforting to wake up with the view of the rising sun of the lake ...

  • Lovely view right on the lake. Wonderful view from both inside and out on the deck. Kitchen is very well equipped. Definitely recommend the Paysant Circuit, a visit to Montreal and a dinner in Venise en Quebec at Hotel Cache du Lac or the Marina. Enjoyed cruise on Lac Champlain.

  • This cottage is an amazing place. Fully renovated. The view was wonderful. Lakeside breeze was refreshing. Large living room. It would be better to have more isolation and decoration in the backyard. But, overall, incredible !

  • This place was simple but lovely. There are a few camp sights next to each other and tucked in at the edge of their farm. It was nice to get some quiet from the city, but not feel nervous at being along since your along a road with medium traffic flow

  • The campsite was as described. Marvelous sunrise and had a great experience.

    Tatiana2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Tara’s was a throwback to how traveling was in my youth-strap on a backpack and see the world. We stopped through on a writing assignment and found Tara to be a generous host with a welcoming and kind family. The campsite is what you would expect from a campsite. I think for the young or solo traveler the proximity of civilization to the campsite adds a safety element that is refreshing. The sunsets are indeed, gorgeous. Be sure to take a drive or hike through the surrounding areas and see why they call Vermont the Green Mountain state. If you have your passport, Canada is a mere 5 minute drive and worth it. Kayaking is a must.

  • This charming lakeside summer home sits right on the water. There are spectacular views of the lake, an island off shore and the Green Mountain range to the east. Every sunrise was breathtaking. The house sits 50 feet from the lake and has unobstructed views. There is a nice lakeside lawn, lakeside terrace with fire pit and a nice swim beach. Also a dock to fish of of. Every outdoor space has amble benches, chairs and outdoor tables. Y It was quiet at night. There are few adjoining properties on the private road serving this house and all the neighbors we bumped into were very friendly. We had a great time.

  • The view the view the view was amazing. The place has plenty of space for relaxing and enjoy the lake. We enjoyed our time!

    Anaise2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful location! Thank you for making it dog friendly. We really enjoyed the location, wildlife and quiet. There is an osprey nest on the cell tower visible from the kitchen/sink window. The adults were flying between there and a tall dead tree right on the shoreline and diving for fish. There is also a blue heron that was hanging out in the water behind the garage every day and also flew past us at eye level along the shore. Amazing to see! The house was definitely one of the cleaner rentals that we have stayed in, spacious and kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, etc. ***We didn’t mind having to bring our own drinking/cooking water/water for the dogs but I almost missed that in the description (my fault for not reading fully). I think I saw it mentioned in some reviews so that is why in mentioning it here. If you are looking for quiet and privacy, this is a great place!

  • Excellent location on the lake. Easy to get to but very quiet and quite private. Lots of large windows, taking advantage of the gorgeous view of the water. Also a well equipped kitchen.

    Maria2018-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a super cute and big place! Plenty of room for everyone and lots of various places to lounge and spread out. It’s right on the water and there’s a canoe available that you can take out on the lake. My only note is that the water source is a pump directly from the lake, which is safe for everything but cooking and drinking. They do have a water cooler there that you can load up with 5 gal water jugs.

    Brandon2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful views. Very comfortable. Great kitchen. The screened in front porch was a plus!

    Mary2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house itself was excellent. It's a quiet location, right on the water, with an amazing view that changes throughout the day. It's in the heart of the Lake Champlain islands and we were able to easily access norther Vermont, northern New York, and Montreal. Also, Vacasa was an outstanding host -- reaching out to us ahead of our arrival about check in and once we'd checked in making sure we had multiple ways to contact them if any questions arose. It was a great stay.

    Chris2018-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay here with my mom. Location was wonderful and home/property well maintained. Beautiful views and sunrise from the deck is incredible. Plan to bring your own water, as the water sources come from the lake and should not be ingested as drinking water. Overall 5/5 experience here! Highly recommend :)

  • All very well, the apartment is nice and cozy but we were very complicated that the neighbors on both sides had their dogs loose, there was a lot of poop in the road and we could not be calm with our dog since the other dogs barked too much. If it were only the department of Pam is very good, but around it the state and location of the stove that is not like in the photo and we could not use it

  • Found the place last minute for a long fishing weekend as our other accommodations fell through. Really glad we stayed here, apartment is clean and comfortable with plenty of space as well as parking for 2 trucks and a boat in tow. Pam was great as she offered us early check in knowing we were in town early but could not get on the lake to fish. Had one small issue with the TV but Pam took care of it right away so we were able to enjoy watching the Saints beat the Cowboys after a long day of fishing. Would definitely stay here again...

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place is bigger than we expected. 4 bedrooms. 4 double beds and one twin. Plenty of room for an air mattress in rooms if needed. The living room had two couches. The kitchen was spacious. It has two and a half baths. The bathrooms are newly updated. There is a kitchen island with stools and a table with chairs. The backyard has a fire pit. The lake was so beautiful. We had an amazing time here. We were not expecting the place to be as nice as it was. Definitely recommend.

  • Roomy. Nice sunrise over the lake.

  • Incredibly clean, plenty of space, peaceful and the views of Lake Champlain left us all staying here speechless! I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a relaxing stay with the option to pop into Plattsburgh or take ferry to Burlington to do some activities. Apart from that there’s plenty to do outdoors in the region.

  • Beautiful location right on the water. Plenty of space for the whole family. Jeffery was a great host and we will definitely be looking at this for a summer rental

  • Great place

  • This place has one of the nicest views I’ve ever seen! Me and a few coworkers have been staying here during a work trip, and with this house it turned into a mini vacation. Just being able to go relax on the back deck after a long day is just what you need to recharge.

  • We had an amazing time at the lake house - beautiful views, clean and tidy, and an excellent host in Jeffrey! It can easily accommodate 11 adults with lots of room for everyone to sleep, relax and enjoy the beautiful lake. The location is really convenient; 4 mins away from the gas station/dunkin', 5 mins away from the highway, 6 mins away from the local beach, 11 mins away from the mall/shops etc. Everything is nearby, yet when you're at the lake house, you cannot hear any noise! The neighbors are very friendly and respected our privacy. Personally, I would like to see some more furniture which would add to the overall experience. Overall, it is a great place and I would definitely stay again without any hesitation.

Cozy and eminently inviting, this North Hero vacation rental is all about a great location and gorgeous meadow views. A couple seeking a refuge from the everyday will certainly enjoy this lovely retreat. Situated on a private dead-end road, this one-bedroom home is exceptionally quiet. You'll find a public boat launch less than a quarter of a mile away and North Hero State Park is just down the road. Like condos of old, this home is above a garage but is well appointed, with brand new furnishings and a host of amenities. Head up the stairs and into a modern wonderland. The living room is replete with comfortable seating (there is one sofabed), a vaulted ceiling, and windows that let in the bright light on a sunny day. It's the perfect spot for a midday coze or a late-evening glass of wine. The kitchen has all the amenities you could ask for in an intimate abode. A four-burner gas stove means you won't be overcooking your dinner and stainless steel appliances—including a dishwasher—mean you will feel right at home. After carefully crafting your repast, enjoy it on the four-seat dining table, which affords views through myriad windows of the lovely Vermont environs. Enjoy a snack or a cup of joe while swaying to the dulcet sounds of Frank Sinatra on the rocking chair or head out to the charming deck with a powered awning for views of the wooded hills and lawn beyond. One bedroom and one full bath, both modern and inviting, mean up to four people (two adults max) can enjoy their rest here. The bedroom boasts a queen bed, chic wood furniture, bright windows, and high ceilings. The full bath is expansive enough to include a private washer and dryer in addition to the necessary accoutrements. Relax in front of the TV and stream movies with Netflix. Guests have access to free WiFi as well as central AC. Head outside to your own private beach, which is just 200 feet away, down a small private driveway. Here you'll find a fire pit to roast marshmallows and beach chairs to while away the daylight hours during the summer. Don't forget to bring your boat as a small dock and boat launch await nearby (please note that there are no guarantees that the dock will be available to use, as the water level changes seasonally). North Hero is a wonderland for nature lovers. This is the place to go when you truly want to get away from it all. Fishermen head here during the fishing derby to test their pole prowess. North Hero State Park is one of the most scenic and beautiful spots in the state, boasting acres of pristine wilderness. Knight Point State Park and Grand Isle State Park are popular spots for cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. And if you're up for some excitement across the border, bring your passport and head to Montreal just 100 miles north. Relax and unwind with beautiful views and a lakefront location at this Lake Champlain vacation rental. *Please note that because of steep, open stairs, this home may not be suitable for small children under six years old - please call Vacasa for assistance finding a more family-friendly home if you are traveling with small children! Although this home is private, the owner might need access to the garage from time to time. Meals & Room Tax License #MRT-10082226
  • Absolutely loved this place. The interior was unexpected luxury -- comprehensively clean, brand-new new fixtures/amenities, and comprehensive kitchen appointments. The location was superb, very near the water, with easy access to the local thoroughfare. The water access area was not much, but in fairness, we didn't take advantage of some of the equipment the hosts had laid out (fire pit, chairs, etc.), and it was more than compensated by a local public beach area just down the road, complete with kayak rental, cafe, and a lovely bar/restaurant. Highly recommended!

  • Great location. Very scenic and very quiet area of northern Vermont. Quite picturesque and lovely during the autumn season.

  • I love everything about the apartment. It is located at the end of a private road. It is on top of a garage on its own lot apart from the main house, so lots of privacy since nobody lives beneath. We had a view of the lake from the front widow (The lake across the street), and trees and greenery in the backyard from the kitchen and the back porch. The apartment is tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable, it quickly felt like home for the four days we were there. It's fully accommodated from the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom, the bedroom to the laundry room. The only thing that we needed and was missing, was a clothes iron and iron board which the owner quickly brought over after our request. The apartment is managed by a rental company and they were very responsive via email with my questions before and throughout our stay. I received an email on the day of check-in from the manager who was covering that day to let me know that he was available should I need any help, and I did and the issue was quickly handled in a very efficient and professional manner. I would for sure return to this apartment and would recommend to anyone I know.

Spend a summer on the shores of Lake Champlain at this three-bedroom North Hero cottage, an updated lakefront escape with a spectacular location, a private deck, and direct access to a sandy beach for swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. Perched on the northern edge of Allens Bay in the tranquil Lake Champlain Islands, this single-level cottage sits four miles north of the town center of North Hero. You'll be mere steps (across a sand and gravel road) from the lakeshore, 38 miles north of downtown Burlington, and 60 miles south of charming Montreal. A masterful blend of modern updates and classic Vermont character, the interior living space is cozy, welcoming, and comfortable for the entire family. Turn on the ceiling fan to circulate the summer breeze, admire the beautiful wood details on the walls and floors, and take a seat in front of the gas-powered fireplace to read a novel, set up a board game, or catch up with your loved ones. Begin each morning in the country kitchen, where you can grind your own coffee beans, mix up some homemade pancake batter, and read the sports section at the two-person breakfast bar. Set out a platter of pancakes, a bowl of fresh fruit, and a bottle of local maple syrup, and sit down for breakfast at the farm table for six. Leave the plates in the dishwasher as you head outside for the day, basking in the sunshine on the private deck. Bring your kayak across the road for a morning paddle in Lake Champlain, take a refreshing dip in the cool lake waters, or watch your kids play tag and splash happily on the sun-splashed beach. Take the setting sun as your cue to light the gas grill, set the patio table, and sit down for an al fresco meal overlooking the lake. Gather around the firepit on the beach for after-dinner s'mores, use the provided WiFi to plan the next day's adventures, and retreat to the plush sofas in the living room for a night of DVDs and cable shows on the large flatscreen TV. With three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, this secluded lakefront cottage will accommodate as many as six guests. Retreat to the master suite each evening to find a queen-size bed, soft carpeting, and a light-filled private bathroom with a luxurious jetted tub with a shower head. The two guest rooms are full of casual charm, each offering a twin-over-full bunk bed. Whether you're a first-time visitor to Vermont or frequent this scenic pocket of New England, you'll fall in love with the charm of North Hero. When you're not swimming, sunbathing, and canoeing just outside your cottage, you can head two miles north to find mallards, chain pickerel, northern pike, nesting map turtles, and a stop on the Lake Champlain Paddlers' Trail at the 399-acre North Hero State Park. You'll be just five miles east of the expansive sand beach at Alburg Dunes State Park, and 16 miles north of the boat ramp, sports courts, nature center, and 4,150-foot shoreline at Grand Isle State Park. You'll even be within a short drive of downtown Burlington and its bustling markets, restaurants, theaters, and gorgeous frontage on Lake Champlain. Come and make the Vermont vacation of your dreams - reserve your stay at this North Hero home today! Meals & Room Tax License #MRT-10082226
  • I absolutely loved this place. The house was very comfortable. The bed slept extremely well. Views were incredible and the neighbors were super friendly. I even ran 3 miles most days I was there.

  • This cabin is a great place to stay. It was clean and well appointed. My wife loved the Jacuzzi tub. The barbecue grill was perfect and the bed was very comfortable. Lots of room and it was very clean. The view of Lake Champlain from the property is awesome. If it wasn't so far from us we would stay there on a regular basis. My only complaint is the lack of access to good restaurants. It's at least a 45 minute drive to go to a nice restaurant. But thankfully we had packed some great food so we made great use of the barbecue grill! Thanks!
