My husband, 2 year old daughter and I loved staying here and it was a great base for exploring Bergen and the fjords. We had a car, so it was very easy to get to Bergen and everywhere else we wanted to go, but there are bus stops close by if you don't have a car. Helga's home is lovely, and the outside garden area is just gorgeous. The view of nearby Salhus and the water is incredible. The downstairs apartment is spacious, the beds are comfy and the little kitchen was great. The shower and sink are inside the little apartment, and your private toilet is just 2 steps down the hall. Also she has great cats to welcome you. :) Loved staying here and would do it again.

Helga is a very caring and joyful person! She has provided us spontaneously, due to a cancellation we had, a very cute little cozy two room studio. Althought we did not have our own shower room and that the toilet was situated outside the studio we spent a very comfortable time at her rental. One big plus is the heater, a chimney which is very nice!!! She also has two cats, one very open and another one very shy. Helga, helped us out with everything she had and could which is very nice of her. The view is really fantastic, as the rental's name already says. It has a big shopping zone (clothes and food) which can be reached by car within 10 minutes. So, to sum up, even though the two rooms are really small and the bathrooms are separated, it is very lovely and good enough for just staying when you travel during the day.

All I can say is WOW. We fell in love with this place, who wouldn't?The house is spectacular and the view?Well it is panoramic and outstanding. We sat outside each night watching the beautiful Norwegian sunset in Helga's beautiful garden. Helga was a first class host, making us feel so at home and helping us with bus timetables etc into Bergen. We did not want to leave this beautiful hidden gem!

Helga was a great host and the place is really beatiful and as described. The parking space is a little inconvenient if you are travelling with big luggage.

Is the most scenic stay in the entire bergen area, it is absolutely breathtaking, and the host is absolutely loving

Very nice and cosy accomodation just outside of Bergen. Helga was very friendly and we have nothing to complain about. Very quite and peaceful. We would definately come back. Perfect spot to explore either Bergen City, or the surrounding area.

Helga is very nice. The appartement is great and the view over the sea is amazing. There is a lovely garden where you can sit and watch out over the water. Too bad we had rain. Definitly a place to stay if you want to visit Bergen, 15 minutes by car. There is also a bus stop directly in front of the house. The 2 persoon bed in the livingroom is small, but good. There is also a single bed in the room with the kitchen. The showen is also very good.

Helga has a lovely property with a nicely manicured outdoor area and a great view. I was grateful she accommodated me the very same day and responded quickly to questions. She even had her brother call me when I had trouble finding the parking spot. The apartment is quaint with tasteful decor, and clean. I must mention I found the ad misleading as listed as entire home/apt. It is actually an apartment built in the basement of a house. You would never even know except the bathroom is down the hall (not shared) and there is a common entry way into the house. There is a lock on the door but I was not given a key. I was totally fine with this and actually never even saw Helga during my stay. Also, it is not a two bedroom. There is a bed in the kitchen. This should be more clear if someone is traveling with more guests. Overall it was a good stay and served my needs.

We loved the fjordside lodge! It was everything we hoped it would be. We loved the rugged hike down to the beach, the slide for our 2-year old, the grass on the roofs, the decks overlooking the fjord. Our room was really nice too and Rita went out of her way to provide baby stuff for us, more than we even asked for, and it made our stay much easier and enjoyable.

Monica's flat was perfect for our stay in Bergen. Monica was a great host and made our stay were enjoyable. I would recommend this flat to anyone visiting the area. It was easy to get around from the flat.

Brand new, very nice, quite big & cosy place. In real life looks better than pics. Great hosts. Realy worth to go there!

The house is really nice, you can see fiord directly by the window. The apartment was clean, beautiful and well equipped. Other advantage is private sauna in the bathroom. The hosts were really helpful and nice. The place is definitely worth choosing!

Communication with Nicolas went really smoothly. Although we didn't met him in person he was really polite and prompt with the questions we had. The place was extremely comfortable and cosy. Nicolas even had a piece of candy prepared on each pillow (very caring :) ) The house itself has a huge terrace with an breathtaking view to the sea. We met with Nicolas mother and brother who were more than helpful and polite. We definitely recomend Nicolas and the place for any travellers in the area.

It's amazing apartment, wonderful panoramic view, very clean, spacious, kitchen fully equipped, safe area, the host was so helpful and friendly and warm welcomes . Highly recommend for all .

This property is great! The view is tremendous, and if you have vehicle, the area is easy to access. The house is clean and as spacious as you could need. There is a grocery store within walking distance. Perhaps it should be noted that you have a portion of a house, not an entire house. They have blocked off the doorway/hallway that connects the two parts, but the walls are thin and you can hear most noises. This means they can hear you on the other side as well. Similarly, the washer/dryer is in the owner's portion of the house. They were extremely accommodating with this.

The apartment is nice and clean. It has a great view of the water. The utilities are all upgraded and it's in a good condition. Everything was clean and ready to go despite the last minute notice. It was my first Airbnb experience and I'm glad I went with this one!

We had a wonderful experience with Øystein. He responded quickly to all communications prior to our visit, and then he met us at the train station to pick us up when we arrived in Bergen-- even though we were an hour late. He even stopped at the grocery store with us on the way to the house so that we would have breakfast in the morning! Over the course of our stay he was available to help us with any issues large or small; he took time out of his evening to walk us down to the bus stop so that we would know the shortcut and was generous with advice about local activities and sights. The house itself is located about a 25-minute bus ride from the city center. It's an easy ride, although you should get tickets beforehand so that you don't pay the extra fee to buy them on the bus. It was immaculate and comfortable. The views of the fjord were gorgeous: two nights we had drinks on the patio, overlooking the water, and one night we watched the sunset (at 9:45pm!) over the mountains. There were four of us, and we had plenty of space. The kitchen is stocked with plates/utensils, etc., but be sure to bring your own food, drinks, coffee, and tea. Overall, I would highly recommend this location!

Øystein's place was one of the best we've ever visited and our stay was perfect. Øystein was a great host and the place was roomy, comfortable, quiet - centrally located near the places and people we visited in Bergen. In short, we couldn't possibly have picked a better place to stay. Very highly recommended.

The location of this house is unique and more then fantastic. It gives a great view over the fijord on both sides. All the rooms are very spacious / friendly and well equipped. An ideal place to relax outside and inside. The owner, Oystein, was more then helpful and ensured that our stay was pleasant. We will definitely return to this family if we are in Bergen area again.

3 days in bergen with two kids on our 6 week scandinavia trip.

I really enjoy ma stay ! The apartment was very confortable and clean, the view from the backyard is amazing, Øystein was very gentle and helpfull with us !!!

This stay was amazing - best place for our small son, (it was very hard for him to leave all that cars and other toys). Apartment has everything we need, it's very spacious and the location with seaview is superb. Øystein is very helpful and friendly host.

Oystein's home is beautiful and he is such a sweet man. He cares so much to help out and make sure your stay is easy. I highly recommend staying here. Thank you so much Dear Oystein for such a wonderful stay!!

Oystein was a great host! He picked us up at the airport and was very gracious. His place was lovely; it had comfy beds, a good sized kitchen, and a nice living room with heated floor and a fireplace, giving it a really cozy feel! The view was the most outstanding part! The bus that runs closest to his house proved to be helpful in getting to the good places. Very enjoyable weekend!

Superb, idyllic location for peace and quiet, whilst at the same time having easy access (by car) to Bergen. Simply beautiful.

Lovely house and garden with stunning view. Perfect base for trips to Bergen and the fjords. Usage of the boat was a nice way to see the coast line from another perspective.

What a beautiful spot! Quiet, wonderful views, garden area and even a Norwegian Forest cat to visit with. Kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. We would definitely come back.

We had phantastic days in a beautiful and peaceful place on Askoy. Ingrid and Per are very friendly and forestalling.

Ingrid and her husband Per were great. Extremely responsive, almost always responded within 1 minute. Per let us use his boat and cruising around the fjord in the boat was an unexpected highlight of our trip.

We had the most wonderful stay at the Ice house. Ingrid & Per we're lovely hosts from start to finish. We hope to return one day!

Our hosts were very trusting with their beautiful house and struck a great balance in being helpful but also not too much. The accommodation was really lovely and as detailed.

We had the most pleasurable stay at this divine cottage! The Icehouse is comfortable, well equipped for cooking, and an overall quaint and relaxing accommodation. Ingrid and Per are fabulous hosts, who will help you with whatever question you may have. Would love to come back here someday!!!
