  • Astonishing place, near the city but entirely in the middle of the nature, amazing landscapes, very private, clean, graceful place, a true space of peace and tranquility

  • A fantastic stay for those looking to disconnect from the modern world. This space is humble, yet beautiful. Carolyn was a great host and provided many great local tips. You'll enjoy waking up to wild turkey calls and walking around the property, exploring the waterfall and star gazing hut.

  • Carolyn and Gary have a beautiful property that allows you to escape and relax in peace. A hot tub overlooking the mountains, a bridge through the woods to a stargazing spot, a cozy cottage with a wood burning stove...we couldn’t have asked for more. Carolyn and Gary were quick to respond to any question we had and were absolutely fantastic hosts. Hope to stay again soon!

    Sarah2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! Falling asleep under the stars and listening to the rain in Carolyn’s place was magical. It was the perfect escape for a couple. There is so much exploring to do on their property alone that I’ll definitely be back.

  • The Tree House experience exceeded our expectations. The hosts were amazing as was the Star House and the tension bridge we crossed to get it. We were there during the Sonoma fires and our hosts kept us updated throughout. We will definitely be back..

Enjoy the beautiful wooded area and our family owned historic cabin. Our gas fireplace, hot spa, fine bedding, and high speed wi-fi await. We're 10 min from wineries/dining in Kenwood and Glen Ellen in the heart of Sonoma Valley, adjacent to Napa Valley, with fantastic wineries, restaurants, breweries and 4 state parks with a free pass! We have ample elec. outlets, condiments, bottled water, hot beverage options, maps/guidebooks and more. We welcome friendly people of all backgrounds.
Our place is not a luxury property as some others are, rather, it's a relaxing "old time" camp feeling. Our family has cherished this property since before the turn of the century. The cabin is located in our backyard, 30 feet from our house, separated by a courtyard which is shared. You may see us in the backyard, gardening, dining, etc, but in our space or the shared area. ....You'll have a keyless code, tons of elec. outlets, Wi-fi, Roku for Netflix etc, Bose bluetooth/wired player for music. ....Phone service: ATT cell service works (other providers will have a weaker signal here) but we are out in the (Wine) country so make sure to check in our wi-fi for your texting, etc. ....Kitchen: It's a small but complete with: range, full size fridge, microwave, pots and pans, bake ware, blender, popcorn popper, knives, peelers, spices, condiments, napkins, paper towels, even "to go" coffee cups and bottled water. Lots of silverware and plates/bowls/glasses. Gas grill on deck is ready for your exclusive use. ....Spa: It's clean and hot and has instructions attached. ....Beds: a queen mattress, high count cotton sheets. 2nd bed is a (click-clack type) double futon sleeper sofa in the same room that can accommodate 2 more small or medium sized adults or children. If you have booked 3 or more people, I will have the sleeper sofa made up for sleeping when you arrive. If you have just 2 people and need both beds made up, please tell me in advance, otherwise I will assume you are sharing the bed and would like to retain the use of the couch as a couch. ....Heat and cooling: Gas free standing fireplace and a ceiling fan warm and cool you in our wine country climate. ....Bathroom: The outdoor (only) shower is 100% private, closed in, and accessed through the bathroom (not the yard). Its warm while you are showering. The original "bathroom" sink is located in the bedroom, as was common a hundred years ago. Luggage rack/freestanding closet with hangers is provided. ....Dining: Eat outside at the patio table on your deck or there is a small table inside the unit for dining inside. ....Outdoor Seating: There is the old fashioned padded swing seat adjacent to the spa, the outdoor dining table and chairs, and you may sit at our covered outdoor couch area if you feel like socializing as this is a shared area. ....Going hiking? We've got the maps and books to guide you! Free parking and tons of hiking at all state parks in the area with our parking pass plus borrow our backpack style picnic "basket". We've pre-loaded it with plates, napkins, small knife, cutting board, etc, everything you need to make a picnic out of yummy local food finds. We'd love to give you tips about where to go and trail maps/book are in the cabin. ....Night time: Our yard is well lit for night time enjoyment. Ping-pong table in shared portion of the back yard. Main overhead outdoor light switch is to the left of the cabin door cabin door. ....Summer only: Morton's Warm Springs is a pool and picnic grounds next door to us. You may hear a few swimmers and their picnicking during the day. Visit Mortons to cool off or just stroll the grounds along the creek, all with our included cabin pass at no charge. Hours: May and Sept: open weekends and holidays, June, July, August open Tuesday thru Sunday. 10 am to 6 pm.
We are located in the beautiful rural premium wine growing area of Sonoma Valley and are close to 4 state parks that are great for hikes and walks and we have a free parking pass for you: Jack London, Sugarloaf, Annadel and Armstrong Redwoods State Nature Preserve. We live in a wooded area near a creek on a country road that is popular for cycling and walks. Beautiful woods and wildlife are abundant. Deer, turkeys, hawks, squirrel, and more might be seen daily. In your room you will find a short list of great restaurants and wineries and breweries nearby. We have lived here for 30 years and are happy to give more suggestions too!
  • A necessary reprieve during a difficult time. Diana and Charle's place is semi-secluded and cozy and you can check in without contact. They are quick to respond via the Airbnb app. Given the fact that I couldn't go out to eat anywhere, their kitchen was a wonderful place to cook meals with pretty much anything you could need available (pots, pans, utensils, oil, spices, etc.) The bed and heater were very cozy and comfortable. The outdoor shower isn't cold, you're warm enough with the steam, but I imagine it's really magical in the warmer months. I did not use the hot tub, but I imagine that's quite lovely as well. Very cozy stay for one person, but I would also recommend for a couple as well. Would definitely stay here again.

    Sarah2020-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is really cute and cozy, with lots of thoughtful touches and one of the most well-equipped kitchens I’ve seen at a rental home. The patio area is also lovely and relaxing, and the owners are super friendly and welcoming. It was a perfect place for a long weekend getaway.

    Taylor2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time at the wine country cabin! Even though it was amid the COVID-19 shelter in place, it was so nice to be secluded in a beautiful place. Diana and Charles were extra accommodating during this time and checked in frequently to be sure we had all we needed. We took full advantage of the park pass and found so many fun hikes in the area and really enjoyed our time social distancing outdoors. We hope to be back in the future when wineries are open again so we can enjoy them too!

    Chelsea2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, clean cabin overlooking the woods with great amenities. Diana makes the experience very personalized and has all the great local tips. Highly recommend!

    Tabish2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place is magical! From the minute you enter the space, you can definitely feel how much work went into making the whole place unique and cozy. The cabin is well-stocked, the amenities are perfect, and the hosts go out of their way to make sure your stay is special. Would love to stay here again.

    Alexander2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Diana and Charles's cabin went above and beyond our expectations. The hosts were incredibly friendly and easy to reach, and the space was adorable! Lots of little touches made the stay extra special. We definitely plan to come back!

    Bailey2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect stay! Such a peaceful airbnb and the perfect distance to every winery/good food. Diana was an incredible host!! So friendly and helpful. Would love to come back! PS. the kitchen has everything you’d ever need and the outdoor shower is amazing.

    Christiana2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I were seeking a few days of quiet outside of the City and Diana and Charles's spot exceeded those needs. Fresh air, a beautiful creekside setting and all the comforts we needed to recharge our batteries. The family takes pride in their property and strive to make their guests feel comfortable. The cabin and hot tub were clean and the outdoor shower a nice tough to revive after a soak. We were new to exploring the area and appreciated the use of the park pass to visit Jack London park as well as Diana's guide to local shops and restaurants. We'd certainly recommend for anyone else looking for a quiet, relaxing recharge just a short drive from San Francisco.

  • I enjoyed delightful conversations with other guests, a fantastically comfortable bed, great accommodations for my weird schedule, a great bathroom-sharing system, a dark and cool bedroom, lots of good breakfast options, plus outstanding hospitality from the host/family--they even helped carry my heavy luggage in and out!! Charles gave great suggestions about free things to do in the area (including champagne-tasting!) I highly recommend this place; I'd book it again in a heartbeat.

This studio “tiny house” has one queen bed and a double convertible sofa. THe sofa is fine for children, but not very comfortable for an adult. Prefer 1-2 guests, but will consider 3 with discussion. Close to shopping, restaurants, theaters, parks, short drive to downtown. 30 minutes to the beach. 12% tourism and city taxes included in price, so you only pay the price you see!
This is a brand new 200 square foot "tiny house" and I am so excited about it! The queen bed is very comfortable and the sofa converts to a double bed. If 2 adults want to sleep separately in the house, please let me know. The conversion process is a little tricky - I will leave out the directions and also make the extra linens available. I would charge an extra $5 for use of the second bed - to help cover cost of laundry. This little house feels very light, airy, spacious, and also quiet and private. It sits across the yard from my house - it is near the chicken run and I would be remiss if I didn't tell you that the chickens do get up with the sun! I try to get out and give them their morning treat the minute I hear them. I hope you will enjoy their company as much as I do. PLEASE NOTE - THE PRICE QUOTED ON AIR BNB INCLUDES THE 12% TOURISM AND CITY TAX, SO YOU ONLY PAY THE PRICE YOU SEE!
The best thing about my neighborhood is that we are 1 block from Montgomery Village which has some great shopping and dining - various bands provide music in the mall all summer long. There are several really good dining places as well as causal restaurants and places to get "goodies" Even though we are close to all this, the neighborhood is very quiet. Parks, theaters, downtown restaurants and activities are a short car ride away and the little house is in the middle of wine country.
  • Easy well lit dedicated access to your own private space. Beautiful yard. Walking distance from great stores and boutiques. Bike ride to some nice parks. Perfect short stay it a stunning part of California

    Mark2020-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house had a lot to offer! The location was great, the house clean, cute, and inviting. Super peaceful and serene. I loved the sound of running water from the pond, the adorable friendly dogs, and the sounds of clucking from the chickens. Inez is a thoughtful and generous host, definitely a Super Host!

  • Loved loved very clean very nice you will loved

    Martín2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Inez's tiny house was exactly what my girlfriend and I needed for our vacation through Napa. At most an hour away from most wineries, it was in a great location and provided easy access across Napa and Santa Rosa. The house itself is relatively small, but not cramped. Everything was extremely clean and well located. Check-in and check-out were very simple. We would gladly stay here again!

  • Highly recommend. This tiny house is exceptionally clean. Inez goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. Excellent location. Napa and Sonoma Valley's within driving distance. If we return to the area, Inez will be our first choice for lodging.

  • Charles is an amazing host. Super clean. Super helpful on things to do in the area. Charles has a great breakfast selection to get your day started. 10/10 would come back and book with Charles!

  • My wife and I really enjoyed the hospitality at Charles's place in Santa Rosa. Everything from communications to check in and out went very smoothly. The guys at the house (Charles's son and another guy, Tim) were welcoming from the moment we drove up. Sadly due to time we didn't actually meet Charles over our one night stay, but he recommended a great local spot, Armstrong woods, as did Tim, Russian River brewery. The house is very unique with an individual decorating touch, and clean as well. Location is superb too for a quick drive downtown. Breakfast supplies were great, as was eating outside in the backyard.

  • Great place to stay, helpful and accommodating hosts, all the amenities you need

    Felix2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Charles' house is delightfully unique and the hospitality is friendly and genuine. I had a one night stay and I just wish it had been longer. Charles made everything from start to finish really easy with clear directions and pictures, which was a huge help, especially since I arrived at night. One tip, the courtyard bedroom is directly across from the shared bathroom, which is great if you tend to get up in the middle of the night to use it, like me. However, you can hear people coming and going from the bathroom (but not actually using it!), so if you are a light sleeper or plan on sleeping late I'd recommend one of the other rooms. Charles does provide ear plugs though.

  • Loved the stay! Would recommend!

  • Lovely home in a beautiful quiet neighborhood. Comfortable bed and charming host.

    Keri2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • The communication from Charles was great from the start. He provided a photo for parking that was helpful as I arrived after dark. The room was super clean and very neat. The best part was the fan in the closet - an unexpected but so appreciated white noise sound. As I was departing he offered coffee and a yogurt for the road. I'll definitely stay again when I need a place in Santa Rosa. Thanks!

  • Really cute place. Perfect for 2 couples. We grilled dinner both nights. Really cute outdoor area, if it were warmer we would have been out there all night. Delicious bottle of wine waiting for you. We utilized the landmark winery upgraded tasting as well which we enjoyed. Walking distance to multiple wineries and very short cab or drive to others. Greg and Lindsay are so warm, welcoming, and responsive. We were running low on propane for the grill and Greg responded immediately and there was a new one there for dinner. Was truly a perfect place to stay and we will be likely be back and definitely be recommending it to friends and family. You will not be disappointed!

  • Greg and Lindsay were both so pleasant to work with. We had the opportunity to meet them in passing during our stay and they were wonderful people. The place was perfect. We honestly couldn’t have had a better location or all around experience. Being able to walk to surrounding vineyards for the day made for the perfect Sunday of wine tasting. The carriage house had a lot of personal touches and a bottle of wine waiting. We loved playing bocce ball outside one evening and the dining room/living area was perfect for the 4 of us to play card games and enjoy our wine, we would definitely stay again. The beds were also very comfortable. Thanks for being wonderful hosts!

  • Greg and Lindsays place is just how it looks! It’s so cute on a beautiful piece of property and walkable to a few different winery options. They left a lovely bottle of wine for us which was a really sweet touch. We loved our time!

    Mary2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely spot for a group of 4-6 nestled in the heart of Sonoma wine country. Would visit again next time I'm in the area!

    Emily2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of 4 teens and 2 adults had a really great stay! The place was very clean, the kitchen amenities were complete and wifi was very strong. It is a beautiful property and we enjoyed walking through the vineyard in the morning. At night, we would sit on the patio, gaze at the stars and enjoy our wine - super! Recommended for a nice quiet getaway!

    Gary2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Greg and Lindsay were super helpful and responsive, even coming by on Christmas Eve to drop off some olive oil and fix the dishwasher. We really enjoyed their hospitality. The apartment is really cute, exactly as pictured on a vineyard and with amazing views of the mountains. The bathroom doesn’t have a heater so in the winter it was a little cold, but the water was very hot. The kitchen has everything you need for simple meals — basic supplies but not a ton of tools or extra spices, so just take note if you’re planning on cooking elaborate meals! One other note, the second bedroom doesn’t have a heater either and has about a foot long gap between the ceiling / the top of the wall so there’s some noise leakage into that bedroom. Overall had a wonderful stay, would love to come back again. Napa was beautiful, even in mid December!

    Gesang2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Greg & Lindsay’s place was just lovely, exceptionally clean and we had a very enjoyable stay. It had everything we needed for our stay in the Napa, including a cot and high chair for our child. Greg was very friendly and helpful. The location was central and next to some sensational wineries.

    Laura2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space! We were in town to celebrate a 50th birthday 🎂 🎁. The space was exactly what we expected based on the photos and Greg was super prompt in helping us understand the heating. I would definitely recommend them again as hosts. Thanks for sharing with us 😊

We're located in Angwin, in the hills above the famed Napa Valley. We're close to Pacific Union College, St Helena Hospital and "The Valley" attractions. Visit your kids at PUC, attend a meeting at St Helena Hospital or treasure hunt The Valley. This is a good starting point. Great views of the entire Napa Valley as one proceeds down the hill from Angwin. We're small but have Kitchen, Fridge, Microwave, Coffee Maker. Comcast WiFi, Air Cond & lowest priced Airbnb in the area. Come/Enjoy!
Unit Description - This is a studio apartment. That means the living room and bedroom are combined into one. The apartment is small but includes the following features.... + A safe private entrance with reserved, off-street, parking just steps from the front door. + A very safe, quiet neighborhood. + A 20 amp electric outlet for charging electric vehicles (additional charge). + Comfy queen sized bed. + Air Conditioner with remote control + Electronic fireplace + Ceiling fan + Laundry room with washer, dryer, and laundry detergent at no extra cost + Bathroom with shower. + Built-in desk with two office chairs for office or computer work. + Flat screen TV with HDMI input + Comcast high speed Internet and cable. + Fully equipped kitchen + Stove with oven + Microwave + All cooking utensils, dishes, bowls, glasses, silverware, etc. + Coffee maker with coffee, sugar and creamer. + Cold bottled water in the refrigerator + Ironing board and iron + Smoke and Carbon Monoxide detector + Fire extinguisher
Here is a sweet Idea!!! Instead of hanging with the crowds, and the heavy traffic, at the big name brand wineries in the valley, why not do some small boutique winery exploration? There are some great five star wineries nestled in the hills in the Angwin area. Do an Internet search for wineries in and around Angwin: We have not visited the following but are listed as 5 star Neal Family Vineyards - 3 min from your front door Bravante Vineyards - 5 min away Red Cap Vinyards - 5 min away CADE Winery - 6 min away and has some of the best views of the Napa Valley you will find. Be sure to call first to see if you need an appointment. Beware: Of an Internet listing "The Ten Best Wineries near Howell Mtn Rd Angwin" The info there is wildly inaccurate in reference to distances. NOTE: Angwin is at an elevation of 1800 feet where the temps are a little cooler and the growing season a little longer which helps bring out the flavor in the different varieties of grapes thus they are in high demand and have won many awards. As for us, we are located in a quiet, safe residential neighborhood. Angwin is home to Pacific Union College, a Seventh-day Adventist four year liberal arts college. Many residents of Angwin are Seventh-day Adventists. This is a very quiet community with little crime. Angwin has a super market**, ACE hardware, a post office, a bank with ATM, Book store, FedEx and UPS shipping facilities and a Chevron gas station. Interestingly, while the Napa Valley is best known for fine wines, Angwin is non alcoholic. But over the years many wineries have moved in closer and closer to Angwin until now, Angwin is nearly surrounded by vineyards and wineries. **Note: The super market store does not sell tobacco, alcohol or meat products and is closed on Saturdays. For airplane pilots, Angwin has the only airport in the upper Napa Valley. Angwin–Parrett Field covers an area of 60 acres (24 ha) at an elevation of 1,848 feet (563 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 16/34 with an asphalt surface measuring 3,217 by 50 feet (981 x 15 m).[1] For the 12-month period ending November 2004, the airport had 12,000 general aviation aircraft operations, an average of 32 per day. At that time there were 38 aircraft based at this airport: 92% single-engine and 8% multi-engine
  • John was very responsive to specific questions I had before my stay, plus warm and kind! The studio is sweet, and has all the basics. It was just-right for my visit to my partner, who lives nearby. Many thanks to John, and I will be back!

    Erika2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • John's place is as described. Easy communication and check in. Please note that the cell coverage is not that great as you go up the hill from town, so make sure you have the address and directions saved. Nice and has everything you need - we especially enjoyed having a little kitchen.

    Trisha2020-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • It’s clean, the owners were communicative, and best of all the area is quiet. Very beautiful hill in Napa. Please be aware that mostly Verizon works there, but thankfully there is GREAT WiFi!

  • Great location to be close to St Elena and Napa

    Fer2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described: a short distance away from the main wineries and St Helena, but also quite up a hill. Great value for the location.

    Crystal2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • John's place was great for our Napa Valley trip. Very easy to get to from the main valley and towns along the highway. And a great view on the way down!

    Stephen2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy, clean and a great location

    Lynne2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This escape on Howell Mountain is near great wineries and in a hometown community. John’s info helps you very clearly and safely know all you need. Well priced and easy, John even took personal care of me when my trip out had problems, making sure I was on time to my nearby work appointments.

COVID safe! For three years we've had 5 stars for "clean!" The meadow, creek and redwoods are stunning! New plush carpet! Large, flat screen satellite TV and automatic fireplace. Electric gate opens to beautiful acreage. 12 minutes to Calistoga or Santa Rosa. High quality, and comfortable bedding. Sleep to the sound of running water. Watch nature outside your wall of windows. Large space- 900 sq ft with kitchen area, Keurig with K cups or coffee maker, brand new BBQ, and your own washer/dryer.
We'll give you a code to the electric gate and key box. So, you have easy access to come and go. We provide an electronic Guidebook and tons of brochures so you can plan your stay. Enjoy the entire south facing unit which has a wall of windows. All windows have wooden privacy blinds, but don't worry, you can't see any neighbors, only nature! We've seen deer and grey squirrels (daily), rabbits, red tailed foxes, raccoons, and other critters. It's so quiet that you'll sleep like a rock. In the winter the creek creates lively water sounds right outside your windows. But year round we have a waterfall and fountain for pleasing water sounds. We are close to many wedding venues and Uber works here. Free WiFi and Direct TV provide modern convenience in a quiet, natural location.
Wedding Venues nearby: French Oak Ranch 8 minutes, Hans Faden Winery 7 minutes, SSS Ranch 10 minutes. Both Uber and Lift work here! This is Sonoma/Napa Counties! It's a relaxed Wine Country atmosphere. (We are one mile from the Napa county line.) Jeans and boots will take you everywhere in the winter, shorts in the summer. There are many upscale restaurants and you may need nicer clothing for those at night. Just let me know if you have any specific questions.
  • Very nice property nestled in among the forest homes in a very quiet area!

    Robert2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The view, cleanliness and hospitality were fantastic! Our stay was absolutely charming and second to none!

    Don2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful oasis of serenity and rest! The place is really big, ~900 sqf. We loved having the coffee bar and a well stocked mini kitchen and keurig coffee machine. It was great to have a full sized table with a gorgeous view on the lush redwoods and creek and a full sized sofa. A pleasant surprise was the 100+ video's and dvd's. We enjoyed our peaceful stay at Amy & Tom's place and will definitely come back for another dose of R&R. Easy 10 min drive into Calistoga, and even at night no problem finding the location on our way back.

    Stijn2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in Amy and Tom's lovely home. The room is very comfortable, with all the amenities, and the setting is magical. If you're a beer drinker make sure to stop by the family-owned Barrel Brothers Brewery in Windsor, which has delicious beers and friendly hospitality.

    Tom2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The place is beautiful and peaceful. To be in the middle of the redwoods with the winter creek running past our balcony was an amazing scene to come back home to. It's less than a 15 min drive from Calistoga downtown so it's very convenient if exploring the vineyards and attractions in the area. Everything was very clean, with attention to detail and comfort for guests. We look forward to staying there again when we go to visit the area.

    Francis2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We were there for an MLK weekend getaway, so we got to see the lovely stream flowing nicely after recent rains, and contributing to a peaceful feeling about the place. Tucked into the woods on the end of the street, it is miles away--physically & psychically--from the town of Calistoga, or for that matter from Santa Rosa. Didn't mean to be rude to our hosts, but everything was self-explanatory and well laid out, so had no problems and no real need to bother them. We came and went a lot, and it was restful and peaceful inside late afternoons and evenings, ensconced on the peaceful wooded hillside. Spent most of our time in Calistoga--felt a little 'Rip Van Winkle', as it had been decades since I'd been there and everything changed from what I remember. Restaurants are more varied and higher quality. There are more spa offerings--we enjoyed a good deal from Calistoga Spa Hot Springs; they let you use the pool all day and can bring in food/drinks, even booze...just keep glass away from pool areas. And...there are more people coming here. Clearly they had the same idea in mind that we did, and did lend to some congestion. Take-home lesson--plan ahead and make reservations early to get better spa or wine tasting appointment times. (It was a 'wine passport' weekend as well, so a number of folks were here for that.) Start early as lots of wineries and parks close early-ish (may be more important in winter, since the sun is gone earlier too.)

  • Amazing place to stay. Very private space. 2 adorable and friendly dogs around. Magical backyard with creek, trees, and a light show at night! Very comfortable, easy to find, friendly, quick responses, a beautiful drive, an oasis not too far outside of town. Lots of gorgeous places to visit within driving distance.

  • This house was perfectly located if you are visiting Sonoma, we were about a 15-20 minute Uber from the vineyards we were scheduled at. The grocery store was right down the street as well. We had three people staying, the bed was very large and clean and the person who stayed on the couch said it was very comfortable as well. It was still a little cold to use the outdoor amenities, but we enjoyed our stay overall.

  • Nicole is charming. Her place is thoughtfully designed (and I'm a hotel designer so I don't say that lightly!). She really made an effort to think of what her guests needed to be comfortable. She even left detergent for the dishwasher and washing machine. She also left a bottle of wine and a great list of suggestions for things to do in the area. Hikes etc. I stayed there during the shelter in place order and the place was sparkling clean and she even disinfected the doorknobs and the keypad again as I checked in and left a bottle of hand sanitizer for me. I have no doubt I will stay here again.

Nestled in the idyllic hamlet of Rutherford in Napa Valley, Rancho Caymus Inn is a historic boutique hotel unlike any other in wine country. Rancho Caymus Inn features large suite style rooms with heritage wood ceilings, fireplaces, living areas and private patios. The inn's classic California style was handcrafted using materials that were carefully dismantled from a 19th century Yorkshire Ohio barn. The exposed mortise and tendon beams, custom doors and walnut counter-tops are second to none.
Enjoy a complimentary breakfast in our guest lounge or in-room, parking, wifi access and more. Weekly wine tastings will feature local vintners.

  • From the gorgeous landscaping in the front of the building and the fireplaces in the common areas, to the fluffy towels poolside, to the sparkling clean room and the bottle of wine that welcomed us, we were impressed by the attention to detail that was apparent in every corner! Not only that, but every staff member that we had contact with was warm and genuinely friendly. We truly felt like guests, not "customers". We look forward to another visit...SOON!

  • Great place just like hotel!!!

    Alex2018-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • We picked Rancho Caymus rather randomly for a short notice trip to wine country and were very happy we ended up there. The location is ideal, just south of St. Helena and an easy pickup point for Uber-ing to wineries. The room we had turned out to be a king suite with a huge living area (including a wine fridge), a very recently renovated bathroom with a massive shower, and modern finishes, and a very comfortable bed with more pillows than we knew what to do with. The property is small, but has several outdoor sitting areas with fire pits and a pool hot tub area too! The free breakfast is no afterthought either. Great charcuterie, fresh fruit, yogurt, and granola, as well as made to order breakfast sandwiches on either rolls or croissants. Yummm! All of that, plus a lovely and helpful staff makes Rancho Caymus super easy to recommend!!

The Calistoga Inn was built in 1887 as a European-style hotel for travelers to Calistoga. Owned by a mother and son duo since 1989, the Inn has undergone a renovation that has brought it into the modern era. The rooms remain "shared-bath" and are simple, clean and quaint, while also maintaining their affordability. Spend time at one of our three bars or dine with us in our newly upgraded dining room or our main patio, which offers the best al fresco dining experience in the Napa Valley.
Conveniently located on Lincoln Avenue, the main street of Calistoga, the Inn has 17 hotel rooms with shared-bath accommodations down the hallway. We also have one private cottage with en suite bath, cable TV and air conditioning, so feel free to inquire about availability.
Calistoga is the crown of Napa Valley. Enjoy a day of wine tasting, then come settle in at one of our bars for a cold beer brewed right here onsite by the Napa Valley Brewing Company. Right down the street is Pioneer Park, and during the summertime, every Thursday evening is 'Concerts in the Park'. Make sure to get there early to drop off your blanket: it fills up fast! And of course, make sure your picnic basket is complete with a bottle of wine from one of our local wineries or a six pack of our hand-crafted beer! About the Owners My mother Rosie (of the famous Rosie's Café in Tahoe City) and I have owned and operated the Calistoga Inn since 1989. We're both active in the community where I've served as the vice-mayor of Calistoga for the last fifteen years and Rosie served as a city council member for five years before me. We are dedicated to elevating the experiences not just of locals, but for the many tourists who make their way to Napa Valley each year. While staying at the Inn, we hope you'll enjoy one of our hand-crafted beers, which are brewed onsite by the Napa Valley Brewing Company. We also have an extensive wine and cocktail list. The Inn offers a variety of venue spaces for you to enjoy throughout the seasons. We have an indoor sports pub, vintage dining room, new inside/outside patio bar, beer garden and the best al fresco patio dining scene in the Napa Valley. -Michael

Individual rooms were also very clean. Loved the wooden floors. Continental breakfast was simple some pastries and cereal. Coffee was very good.

  • We loved out stay at Chelsea's place. It was during Valentine's Day weekend, when many of the other hotels and spas were sold out. We were so glad we ended at Chelsea's! The Garden Room is incredibly private, and we loved waking up to soft birds chirping and a beautiful garden patio with all kinds of flora. The pictures make the walls look a bit yellow, but in fact, they are a soft and pleasing cream color in real life. The bathroom, though not newly renovated, is clean, spacious, and comfortable. The water pressure is fantastic! While the decorations appear somewhat dated in the photo, everything is really cozy and well put together. We were very pleased with the quality of all the bed, pillows, and comforter, etc. I am very picky, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat and rent her other suits for family or friends when coming back to Calistoga in a group. I think Chelsea's place offers a charm that other resorts like Indian Springs Resort or Hilton simply cannot. Plus, you can't beat the location! Thanks again Chelsea!

Our home is in a quiet family neighborhood in Santa Rosa’s semi-rural Rincon Valley, about a mile off State Highway 12. Please note: through May 3, our rooms are available only for those who are either traveling through the area for or staying here and involved in essential work as designated by the Sonoma County Health Officer. (See https://socoemergency.org/order-of-the-health-officer-of-the-county-of-sonoma/). Our West Room is a private bedroom with a queen bed. (Single bed available).
The West Room is right off the main entrance to the home. Access includes our living and dining rooms, as well as our back patio during the warmer seasons — the perfect place to enjoy our rose garden, cool summer breezes and fall foliage changes. We are equidistant from the Bodega Bay beaches, Calistoga and St. Helena (Napa Valley), the historic towns of Sonoma and Healdsburg, as well as the Russian River and our local Redwoods. Walk out into the neighborhood and you’ll find a string of local trails that run by creeks, great for walking, jogging, biking, etc. Within a 5 minute’s drive is Spring Lake Regional Park, offering more hiking areas, boat and kayak rentals, fishing spots, as well as off-road biking trails, camping and RV sites, a swimming lagoon, and an interpretive nature museum. And you’re just 10 minutes from downtown Santa Rosa and to State Highway 101, which takes you to the north to Ukiah and the Mendocino coast. It’s about an hour to the Golden Gate and San Francisco. We can recommend great places to wander through nature, as well as museums and fun local shops and a variety of restaurants. We look forward to your visit. (See also the section entitled “The Neighborhood”)
We are in Northeast Santa Rosa, in the area known as Rincon Valley, an area of beautiful parks, great walking trails that go along several creeks that go through the community and connect to others that lead into the main part of the town. Nearby are local regional and state parks with recreational opportunities. Located less than half an hour from us are a number of tourist destinations in Sonoma and Napa counties. Just around the corner within walking distance of our home, there’s a neighborhood market called Oliver’s. They are a high quality grocery store, with an ample make-your-own salad bar, an excellent prepared meal hot bar, a sushi bar, and a taqueria. They also have an awesome fresh deli for takeout sandwiches. A local laundromat is in the same shopping center. There are also a good variety of places to eat within 15 minutes or less of our home.

  • Luanne's cottage in the woods was perfect for our mini-vacation. It was a hot day and we enjoyed the shady creekside setting that was so private, we felt like we were deep in the woods. The fireplace was perfect for the cool night. In the morning we had breakfast on the sunny patio and listened to song birds all around. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and we look forward to returning for a longer stay!

  • LuAnne's place is the perfect getaway! Charming cabin with a working wood stove and cozy kitchen. Great table outdoors to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening or coffee in the morning. Perfectly nestled in the woods and super peaceful. Bed was really comfortable and place was immaculate! Photos don't do it justice. Much better than I expected. I wish I could have stayed longer and will definitely come back again. It is the perfect place to escape the restrictions currently in place because of the virus and you need to just chill out and relax. • Rick's place was stunning. The backyard makes you forget that you're not in Hawaii. The backyard is far larger than pictures can describe. There are ample places to relax, play, and breathe in the beautiful space. There's boccie ball (or maybe 2), an outdoor bar area, a fire-pit, and of course the hot tub. The bedroom is quaint, but spacious enough for two people. The space has all the amenities you need—full kitchen, spices, cooking supplies, and the fresh eggs from his chickens are a sweet touch. Rick gave us ample privacy and space (literally only saw him once), but was very responsive via text. I will definitely be back again soon.

    LiHe2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The hideaway is a great location to jump into a Sonoma county wine country vacation because it is centrally located to wineries, cheese and breweries. This studio guest house was a great spot for me and my husband to retreat to after a long day of driving around. We picnicked in the tiki hut and took a hot tub under the stars each evening. Rick's thoughtful touches of some fresh eggs from his chickens and some English muffins made for an even more pleasant stay. Rick also greeted us when we arrived and gave us some helpful recommendations for places to shop and eat which were great! We'd recommend to you and go back again ourselves!

    DeAnn2020-03-13T00:00:00Z

  • Our stay at Ricks was nothing short of amazing. The space he has created is extremely welcoming, comfortable, and thoughtful. My husband and I were in the area for the weekend and were blown away by the thoughtful touches in Ricks space - from fresh eggs in the fridge from his chicken coop, to the amazing backyard space that he has designed, to the hot tub which was great to be in after a long day - we can’t say enough great things about our stay. Rick also gave great recommendations and was a pleasure to communicate with. Thanks for making our trip so special!

  • Great place! Chelsea was a very attentive host and the home was cozy and comfortable. We had four guests and the pullout bed was plenty comfy. Small, outdated kitchen with limited cooking supplies (small pots/pans) but we made do and enjoyed meals outside under the grape arbor. Will definitely be back!

Our East Room is a private bedroom with a queen bed. (Single bed available).
(See also the section entitled “The Neighborhood”) Our little “oasis” is a family home on a quiet street in Rincon Valley, part of the city of Santa Rosa. Each of our two rooms have queen beds and can accommodate a third guest (see other details under the separate listings). Access includes our living and dining rooms, as well as our back patio, the perfect place to enjoy our rose garden and summer breezes. Walk out into the neighborhood and you’ll find a string of local trails that run by creeks, great for walking, jogging, biking, etc. Within a 5 minute’s drive you’ll discover Spring Lake Regional Park, which offers more hiking areas, boat and kayak rentals, fishing as well as off-road biking trails, camping and RV sites, a swimming lagoon, and an interpretive nature museum. And you’re just 10 minutes from downtown Santa Rosa and to State Highway 101, which takes you to the north to Ukiah and the Mendocino coast. It’s about an hour to the Golden Gate and San Francisco. We can recommend great places to wander through nature, as well as museums and fun local restaurants and shops. We look forward to your visit.
If you are coming from San Francisco, crossing the Golden Gate Bridge leads to you up North on U.S Highway 101. Where it crosses CA Highway 12, take the eastbound exit. Continue following the Highway 12, you will go through the East part of town. You will turn left at Mission Blvd. We located on a short street about a mile down Mission on the right. Best parking is right out front of our house. Please do not block or park in our driveway. Once you have booked, we can also help with specific directions if you like. We have a neighborhood market called Oliver’s, just around the corner. They are a high quality grocery store, with an ample make-your-own salad bar, an excellent prepared meal hot bar, a sushi bar, and a taqueria. They also have an awesome fresh deli for takeout sandwiches. There are also a good variety of places to eat within 15 minutes or less of our home. This is an exclusive Tentrr site. Tentrr partners with farmers, ranchers, and other property owners to offer unique outdoor accommodations on beautiful private land. Each Tentrr Signature site includes a 10'x12' safari-style canvas tent on a raised platform, and you'll find a queen-size single or bunk bed inside. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, and 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs. If you're camping with a larger party, the site also has a 5-person dome tent that you can easily set up for extra sleeping space. The Tentrr Mystic Mountain Camp is up in the hills that rise above Santa Rosa and the Sonoma Valley, a perfect retreat tucked away from the hustle and bustle in the valleys below.
-Michael
