  • We were delighted to discover Sian and Will's pretty apartment for our visit to Whitstable. The facilities are great and the location is perfect: right opposite the beach and very near the shops and restaurants. Will was on hand with lots of helpful local information and the whole place had a lovely positive vibe. We felt very at home there and will be back!

    Lawrence2015-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful. Perfect Whitstable experience. Right on top of everything, lovely accommodation and perfectly romantic. Loved the little extras, like having the pastries for breakfast too, top notch.

    Adam2016-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Sian's apartment - it was so cosy and homely and had everything we needed to make us feel at home. We had a great time and would definitely recommend! Thank you!

    Rachel2016-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful apartment, spotlessly clean and tidy. Was the prefect location, a stones throw from the harbour. Although I never actually met Sian (the host) she was polite and quick to respond in messages. Would stay again for sure.

    Rowena2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place - cosy, well sized and fantastically located. Very kind to welcome us with a breakfast basket, and really made us feel at home for a wonderful little weekend away. Highly recommended, and thanks again Sian!

  • Sian was very accommodating when I thought I might have to cancel my booking. Thankfully we didn't have to in the end. And her husband was very accommodating in letting us check in early. The apartment was just as lovely in the pics. Really cosy and calming. It was clean and we were welcomed with a tub of cookies and milk in the fridge; lovely. The location is fantastic in terms of being just a minute or two's walk from the high street. A great range of DVDs, and a spacious flat that has been decorated with real care. We visited with a 10-month-old, which I probably wouldn't advise (Sian would agree - she doesn't advertise the flat as being child-friendly). The stairs are steep and many. Plus there are lots of gorgeous breakables at feet-level (which we moved to keep out of the hands of our son!) I'm just sorry we didn't get a chance to move them back! This lovely flat is much more suited to a couple as the listing clearly states. Just one down point. The bedroom is on the main harbour road and the window frame is slightly warped, which means that you can hear the traffic etc from outside. We had ear plugs with us and used them. It would be great if the rather ineffectual windows in that room and the bedroom could be replaced as they both sit on the main road.

    Ellie2015-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for the use of your flat. V nice inside and lots of space. Plus was in a v handy location for both the centre of town and for the train station. I would recommend it

    Rob2016-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely gorgeous flat, even better than in the photos. Bigger than expected and really great location. The bed was comfy and shower was good. Will Deffo come again. Sian was an easy going host and I especially enjoyed the photos of holidays in the hall way!

My small cosy one bedroom flat comfortably sleeps two sharing. It is located on a quiet residential street, has a private internal courtyard parking space and is a short walk from the city centre. It's location has fantastic transport links to London and mainland Europe.
With my carpentry skills I have created a space that has a strong theme based around reclaimed wood. It has a cosy living space of about 18sqm with a small dining table and sofa bed. In one corner of the room there is custom built staircase leading to a converted loft space. The bed space has a cosy and unique feel to it, having designed and built the bed myself. The kitchen is small but has everything you should require for your stay.
As well as great local connections, the is an extensive variety of places to eat locally in Canterbury. If you would like to eat in, or simply buy some supplies, there is also huge supermarket about a 3 minute walk away. At the end of my road there is a recently converted pub that is now a very reasonably priced breakfast/brunch cafe. If you fancy an alternative stroll into the city centre, you can join the 'Great Stour Way' (4 min walk away) which is a newly intoduced walk/cycle route following the Stour River. Opened in 2011 for Canterbury as a gateway to the Stour Valley and to the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
  • Just finished two days' stay in Jame's flat. It is a very lovely and cosy flat just as is shown in the pics. David and Wendy are thoughtful and nice. They've got everything very well prepared. It was my first time to book airbnb and it makes an encouraging start. The flat is not exactly at the centre of the town but it is very near to the centre. Very wonderful experience!

    Neil2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • The house is really nice with a great open layout, fresh decor, good amenities, and a stone's throw from the beautiful coastal path and quaint streets of Whitstable. We rely on public transport and it was an easy walk from the train station. Only slight downside is that the toilet is downstairs, but having a beautiful deep, luxurious bath in your ensuite more than made up for it.

    Eilidh2018-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Joni we had a great time

    Laura2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Pros: Jonis place is lovely, very well decorated and the location is perfect, a stones throw from the centre of whitstable, shops and harbour. It was lovely for my husband and I celebrating his 40th as it was super easy to explore all the lovely Whitstable bars and restaurants - of which there are many excellent options. Cons: I would say its only really suitable for a couple, as it's all open plan. The toilet is downstairs off the living room so if anyone was sleeping downstairs you'd disturb them going to the loo in the middle of the night. The bed is ok, it's a spring bed and every time you move it squeaks.

    Amy2018-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Just a few minutes walk from the sea front and the town centre but still quiet and peaceful surroundings. A lovely little flat with lots of nice touches and space for up to 5 guests. Joni was really helpful and provided everything we needed for our stay including bedding, towels and coffee etc. Would definitely visit again - excellent value for money!

    Grace2018-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Joni's place. Whitstable is a great & the accommodation is ideally placed to explore.

    Sarah2018-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Joni was very accommodating and welcoming when we arrived, and showed us around thoroughly. Everything was exactly as listed and we were delighted by the loveliness of the apartment. Would definitely recommend staying here, great location and beautifully decorated.

    Lynn2015-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Joni communicated excellently prior to our stay in her lovely apartment. The location was excellent and the decor and quality throughout we're was fresh and well maintained. We will definitely return for another mini break.

  • Brilliant cottage, great town and lovely stay. Pamela and Robin were very accommodating for us with a little one. Thanks so much guys hope to come back one day.

    Tom2016-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely outstanding. We loved every minute of our stay. We were met by Robin as arranged by Pamela at the agreed time. Robin took the time to show us around the cottage and gave a thorough explanation of the layout and how each appliance worked. This cottage is perfect in every way. Very clean, tidy and well maintained. Two really good sized bedrooms, one en-suite; a second bathroom downstairs with an excellent washer/dryer; a well equipped kitchen and good sized lounge. Sky TV and good wifi. In an excellent location close to the harbour and town centre. It also has the added advantage of off-street parking, a much needed asset in the tiny compact streets of the town. If you book this cottage you will not be disappointed in any way.

  • Absolutely gorgeous cottage kitted out with everything you need for a break in Whitstable (including an oyster knife!!). Elegantly furnished and exceedingly comfortable, only a stone's throw from the buzzing high street and harbour. Cannot recommend highly enough! The house itself is on a quiet side street off the main run (perfect for a little tranquility after exploring the shops) and is kept immaculately clean. We loved the box of DVDs too, which added to the relaxing feel of both the place and our weekend.

  • Fantastic cottage in the perfect location in Whistable! Would happily recommend to people.

    Rebecca2015-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend at the cottage due to its great location, homely interior, fully equipped kitchen and cute garden. Being only a short stroll to the harbour and town made it very easy to soak up the atmosphere and access all the wonderful restaurants, bars and walks of Whitstable. We wish we had known about Whitstable and this cottage sooner. We will be back!

  • Lovely stay at this little hideaway. Sally was brilliantly helpful.

    Emma2016-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really lovely couple of nights in Sally's lodge. It's a really unique place which is great fun but also comfortable and convenient for Canterbury. Having the bikes available to borrow was great for exploring nearby as there's some really nice pubs a few miles away. The outdoor loo and shower takes a bit of getting used to but isn't a problem at all and all part of the excitement! Although you should be prepared to share your shower with the odd creepy crawly!

    Emily2016-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Sally's studio is the perfect place for a quiet getaway in the countryside. Sally is very friendly and welcoming and went out of her way to make sure we had a great stay. The breakfast provided was very generous and the studio was beautiful and well set out. We had a great stay and will come again!

    Oliver2015-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sally was a great host, we arrived early then the arranged time yet she still picked us up from the station, she also allowed us to store our bags past check out time so that we could go for a walk before catching our train home. The property itself was perfect, very comfortable with its own private entrance. You can really sense all the love and hard work that went into creating it. It was a lovely weekend, highly recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet getaway!

  • Our recent stay in this lovely cottage was fantastic. We were made to feel very welcome by Nicky and her husband, who rectified any issues we had immediately.Would certainly love to come back and stay here again.

    Michael2016-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great little cottage, charmingly decorated and well appointed with everything a guest could need. Nicky was ultra helpful with leaving us a travel cot and high chair for our baby; and recommended excellent places for food and coffee. A previous reviewer had mentioned noise sensitivity, but being hardened East Londoners we thought we were fairly street- and neighbour-noise resistant. However, we were surprised at how much you could hear through the walls, and people talking on the street outside sounded as though they were in the room with us! This isn't the host's fault of course, just a consequence of the property being an old cottage, but it's worth bearing in mind if that sort of thing would bother you. Overall, we had a lovely weekend, and especially appreciated Nicky's lovely homemade lemon drizzle cake that awaited us upon arrival! We look forward to visiting Whitstable again in the summer.

    Laura2017-03-05T00:00:00Z

  • We were looking for a peaceful get-away by the sea, far away from the grey and grime of London, luckily we came to the perfect spot! Teresa's flat is charming, cosy and comfy, but best of all, because the building is raised from the road level, the view is of an unadulterated seascape. Wonderful! We spent most of the time snoozing in the bath-seat gazing out to sea.... The bathroom is huge and luxurious, and the kitchen has everything needed. In the morning we were greeted by the morning light over the sea, what a view without even having to leave the bedroom! When we did actually manage to leave the flat there was the best fish and chips we'd had in years from a chippy round the corner, and some fun little shops to potter about in around town. Whitstable is also just down the road where we headed for a wander and more fantastic seafood. All in, we had a gorgeous break, thank you Teresa for making us so comfortable and welcome.

    Dan & Vicky2015-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • I found Teresa’s home while searching for a space to do some work & design. Although I didn’t have a chance to see much of the Bay, the house was perfect for what I needed. Calm, bright and open. The view is so amazing & hearing the sea from inside is incredibly relaxing. The apartment has so many sweet touches and Teresa was lovely. Can’t wait to stay here again soon!

    Kelly2018-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful apartment with stunning views, the reality is even better than the photos! Teresa was very helpful in arranging our arrival and always on hand to answer any questions

    Caroline2016-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Teresa's place is great. The view is wonderful - I love to be near the sea and the luxury of seeing it whilst still in bed is brilliant. The flat is laid out really cleverly and is beautifully arranged and decorated. Teresa's recommendations are absolutely terrific - we enjoyed gorgeous walks and food thanks to her. Made us even more relaxed to have all that info at our fingertips. Thanks!

    James2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely bank holiday at Teresa's beautiful apartment in Herne Bay. The apartment is perfectly located, within close proximity to the town and the train station and with stunning walks along the coast. The apartment itself is charming and very comfortable, boasting the most beautiful view. Teresa was extemely helpful and efficient in her communication and prior to our arrival shared lots of tips for the area - Shakey Shakey fish & chips were some of the best we've had! Thanks again Teresa, I'm sure we will be back!

    Anna2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Teresa's place is a lovely home-from-home. It is cosy, stylish and has a truly amazing view of the sea. It is very close to good shops and restaurants and highly recommended.

  • We had a wonderful time staying at Stephen's home! The flat is gorgeous, rustic, and very cosy. There were so many small things that improved our stay so much -- the little details other hosts may not think about. We were extremely comfortable; he even left milk and a few things in the fridge for us. He even left a book of Victorian ghost stories by the bed. We felt so at home there; it was everything we needed, and seriously, Stephen couldn't be a friendlier dude. The flat itself was in a perfect location -- right next to the seaside and near all of the shops/restaurants. We went for a lovely run along the esplanade and had dinner at a fabulous new Turkish restaurant (Stephen's recommendation, of course!). I can't speak highly enough about how much of a great stay we had at this place and how excellent the place itself is. Five solid stars.

  • Charming place, amazing location, very friendly host. We wish we could have had a few more days to enjoy Herne Bay! Thank you for everything Stephen :)

    Camille2015-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen gave us a quick 'tour' in the appartment. Everything you need is there, location is nice, very close to the beach and lovely pub with great food just around the corner oposite of the beach. Appartment is fine but in the basement so there is no view on beach, street or garden.

    Mireille2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Basement flat built in 1800s, close to sea and amenities but quiet. Spacious inside, comfortable bed needs some updating.

    Daphne2017-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen is a great host, response to messages quickly. the place is exactly what we need, less than a minute to the seaside and close to local highstreet.

    Gary2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Located within a stone's throw of the sea and the High Street, Stephen's apartment is full of character and quirky details. He went out of his way to provide us with everything we might need for our short stay - including a bottle of wine!

    Keith2018-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • A very big thank you to Stephen for being such a fantastic host! On arrival he showed us around the flat and made us feel at home. He had left some nice complimentary goodies for us in the fridge such as milk, biscuits, crumpets, juice, oh and wine and lager and had provided tea, coffee and sugar as well. The flat itself has a rustic feel to it with lots of knick knacks dotted around and the bed was very comfortable. The TV was playing up when we got there - we don't watch much TV but thought we'd mention it to Stephen anyway. He was on to it straight away and had it sorted in no time at all. And if you've brought your ipad, laptop etc. along, wi-fi is available at no charge and was pretty fast. The weather was fantastic when we were there and Herne Bay seems a good place to be based for exploring that area of coastline. The flat is indeed 17 seconds from the beach and we saw 1 or 2 lovely sunsets. The Ship Inn is a friendly pub on the corner serving reasonably priced food. I can recommend a restaurant called A Casa mia if you like pizza - one of the best I've tasted outside Italy. There's also an interesting real ale micropub called The Bouncing Barrel for those who like real ale. And a 5 minute stroll along the seafront in the morning takes you to Makcari's who do a reasonable cup of coffee, pastries, bacon and eggs etc. Good ice-cream too! We felt very relaxed after our break. It was lovely to meet Stephen who is so helpful and has a delightful personality. We wish him well with his plans for 'the big house', a grade 2 listed building which I am sure is full of history. Thank you for having us!

  • Great location, very friendly and welcoming approach of the host. The only downside was that the flat is in basement, which was quite noisy and also smelt of mould.

  • Such a lovely place with amazing hosts! Really clean, down a quiet road so no traffic noises at night which made it very relaxing. Close to the town centre and beach, coffee machine in the room and breakfast offered at no extra cost! Communication was great from the start and I will definitely be staying again. Completely perfect!!

  • Neil & Emma we’re wonderful hosts. They gave me an exceptionally warm welcome and were terribly accommodating. The room and bathroom were very clean and there were some thoughtful touches. Breakfast was delicious, and was enjoyed in their lovely garden. I would recommend staying here for such a great price!

    Esa2018-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic hosts! Fantastic self contained annex which was sparkling clean. Hosts were on hand if you needed anything and were most helpful with local tourist tips. Location is perfect for Canterbury, Herne Bay, and the southern most areas of Kent such as Ramsgate, Margate etc all within a short drive. I would recommend anyone to book this annex as you won't be disappointed.

    Christine2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great value for money, about a mile from the sea, but there is a good bus service.

    Dan2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • I chose to stay here for a few days to get away from the city and detox - and I’m glad I chose Neil & Emma’s place. The annex is totally private, clean, and homely. It has basics like a kettle, coffee machine etc which is really valuable. The garden you share with the hosts is fab, really peaceful and tranquil - I spent a few good hours reading books there. The hosts are friendly, happy to chat and recommend places nearby (and if they don’t know something, they’ll find out and get back to you ASAP). I found some great spots to visit or places to eat at, all thanks to the hosts. It’s about a 10 minute drive or a 25-30 min walk to the beach - I personally didn’t mind walking and enjoyed the walk. It’s close enough to get to nearby cities and towns such as Margate, Whitstable etc. The East Blean woods nearby was also fantastic and a short 10 min drive. Highly recommend the place!

Beautifully clean & private separate apartment, located in an extremely peaceful private estate; has self contained kitchen, bathroom & lounge/bedroom, own private parking & entrance. Approx 7 minutes walk from seafront and is walking distance to either Herne Bay or Whitstable. Fully equipped & close to amenities. The address is Herne Bay The host has a warm & hospitable nature. Please read the house rules there aren't many but they are important to me. Thank you
The Garden Apartment is a detached dwelling with its own entrance and parking space. I do allow and love dogs, there will be no sneaking past without a welcome cuddle, for the dog! There are 2 sets of gates between the apartment and the road .. there are no sneaky holes for determined dogs to get out of... to date..! There is an outside area with a table an chairs for your use. It catches the sun throughout the day. With fields behind this is a quiet area.
The Garden Apartment is situated on a Private estate in Herne Bay, which is very quiet. There is a 20 mile speed limit throughout the estate. I do not live directly on the seafront but it is only a 7 minute walk through the private estate full of individual bungalows... there are no houses on Studd Hill... all the roads are named after cars ... and no one really knows why!
  • Lisa's cottage is tucked away privately behind her home is the perfect getaway for two on the Kent coast. Immaculately clean, super comfortable and a short walk away from the beach, you couldn't really ask for more! Lisa is a perfect host- great at communication, friendly and warm but allows you your personal space. She even treated us to some ice cold beers and g&t's in our fridge. Thanks again for having us Lisa. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back again one day soon. Emma

  • Charming apartment that has everything you need whether you’re staying for a week or a weekend. It has its own private entrance as well as a little outside area to sit. Great location with Whistable and Herne Bay pier easily walkable. We also headed to Margate one evening which is only a 15 minute train ride. Lisa is a superb host - very welcoming and kindly gave us a lift from the station when we arrived after having trouble booking a cab! We had a brilliant weekend made all the more enjoyable by meeting Lisa’s gorgeous recuse sausage dogs. Would definitely recommend to a friend!

Located in the conservation area of Herne Bay : ‘The Nook’, an original fisherman’s cottage dating from the late 1700s. It is a two minute walk to the seafront at the end of the street, and very close to many restaurants and cafes. The cottage has been recently refurbished to a high standard. Access is via the main house. There is a private patio with a bistro table and chairs. A breakfast welcome basket is supplied. A two friendly, well behaved dogs and a shy cat also live in the main house.
The Nook is charming and quirky, offering a mixture of romance, history and comfort. A lot of consideration and thought to guest's needs have gone into it. A complimentary bottle of wine is offered to guests staying more than one night.
The Nook is located in the conservation area of Herne Bay, a few hundred yards from the seafront. Lovely cliff-top walks to be had visiting Reculver Towers. There are many restaurants, cafes and pubs within walking distance, there is a list of ones I recommend in the cottage. Easy access to Whitstable, Canterbury and Margate by public transport or driving. Beautiful sunsets!
  • Eve made every effort to make my stay as excellent as possible. The care and attention to detail was superb. She even remembered that I was vegan and replaced the milk for cows' babies for hemp milk. Thank you :)

  • We had a nice couple of days in Herne Bay at Eve's. It's incredibly close to the beach, pubs and places to eat which we all really enjoyed. We also really enjoyed the little breakfast basket and bottle of wine provided by Eve. If you are particularly tall or don't like big dogs, this place isn't for you however!

  • This is a lovely cosy little place right next to the beach in the middle of town. Stephen was an excellent, friendly host and frankly we couldn't have asked for more. Herne Bay, by the way, is heartily recommended. Some great restaurants and pubs... and fabulous coastal walks, which we enjoyed almost as much as our dog, Chasbo.

Lovely en-suite double room in airy Victorian apartment by the sea. Tiny sea views from the balcony and living room bay window. DIY breakfast items provided and use of guest fridge. The beach and high street are minutes away. I don’t charge a cleaning fee. Enquiries about renting the family beach-hut in Whitstable also welcome.
My guest room is bright and comfortable, with its own shower room ensuite, so you have lots of privacy. Feel free to use the kitchen and living room, which has sea views from the balcony and living room bay window.
My place is very close to the seafront and high street and local bars and restaurants, and a short walk to the Pier and the station.
  • Holly was very welcoming, we really enjoyed our time in Herne Bay. Location is just perfect, very close to the seaside and also less than 20-30 minutes drive to amazing places as Whistable, Broadstairs and Canterbury. We went with our little daughter who is nearly 2 and Holly even had toys for her! :) she prepared a cot bed and also a mattress for our little one, very kind. Holly wasaways very approachable and easy to communicate with. Clear instructions for check-in. Lovely cosy vintage place! Definitely recommended.

    Andreina2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Centrally located within a very short distance of restaurants and shops. Excellent value room with a comfortable bed, television and private shower room and toilet. The kitchen sitting room shared with Holly was well equipped and even had a guest fridge for our use where we stored our quiches in as we had come to Herne Bay for a friends birthday party This also allowed us to refreeze our cool packs. We were able to come and go as we pleased and even had a parking place. It was very close to bus stops which ran frequently and was a few hundred yards from the seafront with its pleasant walks and sunsets. Holly goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and knows a lot about the local area. Although it was by a set of traffic lights at the end of the High Street and on a busy road this did not cause any discomfort. Holly pointed us to two superb restaurants where we had two excellent well above average meals at reasonable prices

  • Lovely flat made to feel welcome very relaxed nice location would visit again

    John2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • My experience at Holly's was everything that I had hoped it would be. The room was delightful and perfectly maintained, the location was excellent for arriving by car and exploring the town on foot, and the breakfast was a wonderful touch. It was exactly what I would have prepared for myself but I didn't have to worry about the shopping or the leftovers after a short stay. The best part, however, was Holly's hospitality. She was very available, very responsive to messages, and personally interested in my stay. I booked my trip with little planning and relied almost entirely on Holly's suggestions for my weekend and I had a positively great time dinning and walking around Herne Bay, as well as the neighboring town of Whitstable. I recommend this lodging as highly as possible for both the quality of the room, and the quality of the experience. Enjoy your visit!

A log burning stove has recently been installed. Please note that the property does not have wifi or a TV.
The village of Preston is located in the Kent countryside about 10 miles from the historic city of Canterbury with its world famous cathedral, universities and shops and restaurants. The Granary is a self-contained open plan living area with kitchen facilities and separate shower room. In addition to the main living areas on the ground floor, there are steps to a mezzanine balcony which can be used as a sleeping area for a third guest. Outside is a large decked area and guests have use of the garden. There is a double bed and an air bed can be provided to accommodate a third person.

  • We love it. If you are considering it, make yourself a favour and go beyond the main pic, it just doesn't make justice to the place. Also ask jennie before your trip for directions because the post code cover a wider area, and the Granery, is in the back side of the property, so you won't see it from the street, although there is a pic of how the front looks like, and thats how we found the place. The studio has all you need for your stay and the views from there are great. Thanks Jennie for your help.

  • Fantastic place to stay to get away from it all! Me and my partner went for our year anniversary and had a lovely relaxing time. We don't drive so we spent time wondering around, sitting out on the decking and playing games. The Local pub is nice with friendly staff and we went for dinner, games of pool and drinks. The garden centre is lovely too. They serve drinks and cake and is really lovely inside and out with nice things to buy. We got a taxi from Adisham station which was £15 and on the way back got one straight to Canterbury for £25. Jen the host, was polite and friendly and offered us advice on taxi companies to use, and had the log burner going for us when we arrived. Great communication without being intruding. The granary itself is gorgeous inside. Really unique and finished to a high standard. The shower room is great too with a good shower. Bed was clean and comfy and the dining area and kitchen was clean with really nice dinner sets. Although it's all open plan it's set up in such a way that feels spacious and separate. We're hoping to come back in summer! Ellie and Aaron.

An opportunity to rent a whole modern town-house that is a fifteen minute walk from Canterbury city centre. There are three large double bedrooms, one with en-suite shower. A separate bathroom, cloakroom, kitchen, lounge and patio area.
  • Kate has been very kind and helpful during our stay. We arrived late and saw that she had left us a complintary bottle of wine because her vacuum cleaner had died. Her house is spacious with 3 real bedrooms. We were 4 and used the top 2 rooms. The beds were absolutely amazing. We slept very well. We are very grateful to Kate for letting us store our luggage in the hallway several hours and for allowing us to change out of our formal attire, into our everyday clothes.

  • What an amazing place to stay! Wonderful house with plenty of room to host our group of 6! Amazing location just on the outskirts of the middle of town with a beautiful walk alone the water to everything you need! Definitely would return on my next trip to Canterbury!

  • Amazing communication and a superbly well kept property. The beds were very comfortable and the whole house was very clean and tidy. Had everything we needed.

  • A good, clean and basic house close to the beautiful center. The beds are good, but the house (and garden!) is not very cosy.

  • Kate's place is a home away from home, it is spotless and we felt very comfortable there. Kate was a very accommodating host- great communication throughout, thoughtful touches in the house. Kate's place is not far from where we wanted to visit, everywhere was just a very short stroll away.

    Bonnie2017-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Kate’s Place is in a great location and a very short walk to a supermarket and the west gate towers. This house has everything you may need for a short family break and has plenty of rooms.

Our little Barn is a modern airy fully self contained beautiful bolt hole just 300 metres from the beach, 8 minute walk from the train station and 10 minute walk to the town centre and harbour. It has outside space for you to relax, Off street parking right outside. Luxury bedding for the beautiful king sized sleigh bed to ensure a good nights sleep. There is so much to do in Whitstable and I am happy to provide information on places to eat and live music which is big here.
  • Clean, stylish and cosy with an unbelievably comfy bed.

    Miriam2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • we stayed at Carol's place for just a couple of days but it was fantastic.. the bed was so comfy, everything was gleaming and organized and the whole stay went like a dream. would return in a heartbeat

    Phil2018-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! Really enjoyed my stay. Carol is a fantastic host and made me feel so welcome. Not only is the studio super stylish but fantastically clean, there are so many nice little touches that make you feel right at home. Loved the coffee machine and the sleigh bed and having a pint of milk, coffee, tea and breakfast catered for when you arrive is such a treat. Carol is a font of knowledge on where to visit in the local area, her advice was always spot on. Whitstable itself is a great place - very chilled out with lots of lovely places to eat along the harbour and the sunset from the hotel Continental is not to be missed. One of the real highlights of my trip was being able to stroll from the studio a few minutes down the road and swim in the sea everyday,, not to be missed at High Tide. Already planning my next visit!

  • Carol is an amazing host who made our stay extra special. The property was exceptionally clean and comfortable. It’s also very well located for a weekend in Whitstable!

    Rachel2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay! Lovely host! Great location close to the town and the beach. Carol was very attentive and welcoming. The barn itself was spotless and there were lots of stylish touches. Thank you!

  • The little barn is a wonderful space with all you need for an enjoyable stay in elegant and thoughtful surroundings. Carol is a wonderful host. Highly recommended. Thank you!

  • Carol’s place is a really lovely find in the sunny seaside town of Whitstable. My husband and I and baby daughter stayed there for 2 nights and were very happy with our choice of accommodation. Carol was kind enough to let us check in an hour early and we were very happy to find a stylish and well thought out little place with all of the essential amenities provided such as tea, coffee, milk, espresso machine, fluffy towels etc. plus some yummy bread and jam for breakfast! We slept well on the very comfy bed and enjoyed the five minute stroll to the seafront each day. We’d definitely recommend this accommodation and would definitely return! Thanks again, Kate, James and Jenny x

    Kate2018-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • A most excellent and stylish self-contained place. It even has a sharp kitchen knife... Carol is an excellent and enthusiastic host and both Whitstable and Tankerton are easily reached by foot. The Krishna Indian restaurant too ;-)

Recently built garden cabin with ensuite toilet and shower 10 min walk from the sea and town centre. Train station also within easy reach (links to Whitstable, Margate, Ramsgate, Faversham). Historic city of Canterbury is 20 min drive away. Suitable for solo travellers, couples and small families (travel cot and air bed available for children) We offer tea and coffee making facilities (Nespresso coffee!) and free Wi-Fi. Mini fridge. Use of wood fired barrel sauna also included in the price!
  • Agnes communication was great, the cabin and sauna were lovely.

  • Really nice cabin, we enjoyed the place. Herne Bay is lovely as well. Really close to the sea, and very friendly hosts.

    Lola2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our visit to the cabin. It was immaculate and the barrel sauna was an added bonus to what was already a beautiful room! We appreciated the thoughtful touches too - such as the welcome guide and lactose-free milk - and Agnes and Raphael were very welcoming and communicated with us well over the weekend. I will certainly be recommending this stay, although part of me wants to keep the secret all to myself! :)

    Sian2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was clean, modern, and it had everything we needed and more. Although it is a garden cabin, it felt really spacious and provided us with a perfect base to explore. This was great for a couple of nights away, but we could have easily stayed longer. It felt private and easy to access - which was great for us as we arrived late at night and did not want to have to bother anyone. The garden was also beautiful which provided a great view. We will definitely be back next time we visit, and would recommend to any couples or solo travellers.

    Holly2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • A really great place, and a great sauna, I couldn't ask for more!

  • It is a brilliant room. The room was very nice and clean. Ankit was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend.

  • This place was perfect as a room to stay for a few nights. I was meeting friends in Canterbury as a University reunion and just needed a bed to sleep in. This place was great to be able to access at any time and going in and out during the day and night was super flexible. The host was really lovely and very good at communicating quickly. We didn't use the shared spaces as we were out and about so much but everything looked really lovely and welcoming and our room was really cosy.

  • Really friendly, very accommodating, and great property! Thanks!

    Steph2018-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Ankit 's home is ideally located for Canterbury city centre, university and the train stations. The description of the apartment is accurate and Ankit provided excellent directions to the apartment. He was also kind enough to allow access to tea and coffee. It's ideal for a for work stay or to visit Canterbury's sites.

    Jacqueline2018-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Ankit is a great host..warm, friendly and welcoming. the apartment is in a great location, close to the high street aswell as both train stations in canterbury. the apartment is clean and warm, with everything you require from a stay. i highly recommend ankit as a host and his accommodation.

    Daryl2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Ankit’s place was located just a short walk from the city. There is a big Aldi just across the way and the parking included was very good as Canterbury can be expensive and/or tricky to find a place to park. Would recommend!

    Jodie2018-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Ankit was an amazing host, my friend and I had a great time. due to the awful weather we stayed in with the host and had a fantastic evening. Ankit's place is really lovely with lovely views from the dinner windows as advertise. It is a short walk from the town centre. Ankit was able to provide great tourist advise on places to see and eat. This stay was in Epitamie of the ethos of Airbnb, not only did we have a great time we had now made a new friend.

The Old Wash House is set in the heart of the village of Littlebourne. There is on street parking if you're driving and a frequent bus service which runs into Canterbury and Sandwich every 20 minutes from right outside the property if you're not! You are a 5 minute drive from Canterbury with its rich history, art and culture, great shopping and restaurants and dining. The coast is just a 20 minute drive away too. The Old Wash House is good for couples, solo adventurers and business travellers.
The Old Wash House was built in the 19th century and was the place where the Victorian occupants did their washing! It is now a studio cottage with three rooms: one main living area which doubles up as a sleeping area at night, a small kitchen with hob, microwave and fridge (with ice box) and a bathroom with WC, basin and brand new shower. The Old Wash House was newly decorated in April 2017 with brand new kitchen and bathroom areas.
  • Very friendly hosts. Lovely place to stay very quiet and relaxing. Excellent

  • Kate was an excellent and attentive host. The little cottage is clean and comfortable and not far from Canterbury, an amazing little town. Great value!

  • We were staying for a family event in Canterbury/ Faversham over the weekend. Was a beautiful, quiet, rural feel location but so close and easy to get to main locations. Went to Dover, Whitstable, Faversham and canterbury. Such a beautiful cottage, cosy but such nice little touches. a great night sleep was had and would have happily moved in! Enjoyed eating on the patio in the morning sun. Well-stocked kitchenette and check in was so easy. Overall, highly recommended stay. :)

A simply furnished room with double bed and ample storage space in a large cottage, built 1733. It has not been overly modernised, but has central heating, modern shower/wetroom, and Wifi. Ideal base for exploring East Kent (Canterbury, Dover etc). Due to steps and stairs, not suitable for people with limited mobility.
Spare room in Kentish cottage (built 1733): open fires, beams, etc. Not suitable for people with mobility problems. The room has double bed, is carpeted, has central heating and a walk-in wardrobe. Shared bathroom next to room; also a wetroom downstairs. We have a piano and a big garden, with a drive you can park on. Towels and a hairdryer are provided. Please note both the pillows and duvet are filled with feathers. Breakfast is included: tea, coffee, fruit juice, cereal and / or as much toast as you can eat - though I'll happily provide other things if you give me enough warning :-) We have a Jack Russel...she's very friendly, but this is not a good place for someone who doesn't like dogs! The house is on a street off the main road in a quiet village between Canterbury and Sandwich. At the back of the house there's a field full of rabbits, squirrels and birds. The house is about a mile away from Howletts wild animal park. Good bus service to Sandwich and Canterbury - every 20 minutes through the day (not so good in the evening or on Sundays!) The bus takes about 10 minutes to get from Canterbury to Littlebourne. Half hourly train service from Canterbury to London (St Pancras/Charing Cross or Victoria); the fastest take just under an hour. The coaches (to Victoria) (National Express) are usually much cheaper but take about two hours. Apart from being 4 miles from the world famous tourist destination of Canterbury, the village of Littlebourne is surrounded by beautiful countryside, and the sea is within half an hour to the north, east and south....oysters at Whitstable, glorious sandy beaches of Thanet, Turner at Margate, Dickens at Broadstairs, birdwatching on the sand dunes at Sandwich, a pier and two Tudor castles at Deal, the White Cliffs and Castle at Dover (not to mention frequent ferries to France) - and there's Britain's only official desert at Dungeness, about an hour south west of Canterbury.
It's quiet and rural. Canterbury is a very busy little town and I love it, but it is nice to get back to the peace and quiet of my garden. I think the most important things to see here are Canterbury, and the coast: Dover, Whitstable, Broadstairs, Sandwich - depending on your tastes and amount of time available.
  • Hearher was very welcoming and flexible, when we decided at the ñast minute to change our arrival time. She welcomed us with open arms as if we were family.

    Monika2016-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming and helpful, heather even offered to drive us to the wedding we were going to (because we were running late). It was a lovely, comfortable stay with a friendly, sociable host. Superb value for money.

    Ross2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Heather is a living legend. I had booked only 1 room with Heather, for me and my girlfriend. The rest of my bandmates was supposed to stay at the YHA hostel in Canterbury, but the hostel was closed when we arrived late at night, noone answered the phone and we did not get access to the rooms we had booked and paid for in advance. After a 14 hour drive from the South of Germany, this was a pretty bad situation for us to be in. Heather went out of her way to spontaneously accommodate 5 extra people (and even agreed to helping out all 8 of us if necessary) at her house, when we woke her up at 4.30 AM. She prepared sheets and bedding for my guys on her living room floor, and cooked us tea in the middle of the night. Honestly, who would do that? Who would open up his house to a bunch of strangers, in the middle of the night? I was so impressed that I didn't really know what to say. Long live Heather.

    Robin2014-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Heather is a very nice and talkative host ton discuss all kinds of matters with and who does everything for the guests to feel comfortable and even get an insight into life around the house and the Kent-area. Any time again! Norbert and Ursula

    Marieke2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • If only we had more time. What an amazing time we had even if only for one night. We will definitely be back to spend more time in Canterbury/Kent but also at Heathers place. Her flexibility with our arrival time and her hospitality was fabulous. The entire house is not only full of charm and history, it was impeccable and the bed was so comfy. Heather (and Katie the dog!) went out of her way to make sure we felt welcome and knew where we were going for tea. Her knowledge of the area was so helpful and she gave us great tips for the rest of our road trip. She had breakfast all ready for us and we chatted over coffee like great friends. Would highly recommend.

    Alyssan2015-12-20T00:00:00Z

A quaint, seaside haven directly opposite Whitstable's iconic harbour and beach. Unbeatable location on the doorstep of the town's fashionable restaurants, bars and boutiques.
  • Located opposite the harbour, and 3 minutes walk to the beach. The place is light, pretty, comfortable and clean. It's a cute little corner house with a living room and kitchen downstairs and bedroom and bathroom upstairs. The kitchen is very well equipped and we really appreciated that some basics like real coffee, cereal, milk and bathroom supplies were provided. Our host was very helpful at check-in, giving us information about the town and some excellent pub and restaurant recommendations.

  • Corner cottage was lovely, plenty of tea and proper coffee, very comfy bed. Excellent location, right by the high street full of wonderful independent shops, very short walk to the harbour. Lewis responded very promptly to queries and made some excellent suggestions for places to eat and drink.

  • Our stay couldn't have been better; from booking to check out, Lewis was friendly and helpful, even providing a very handy list of places to eat and drink in Whitstable. The house is perfectly formed for a couple and the location couldn't be better! Highly recommend if visiting Whitstable!

The house is well located, furnitured and really clean. Comfy bed and strong shower add additional value to it as well. We had a fantastic time in Whitstable! Thank you Lewis for having us! Location, location, location. Right in the middle of Canterbury. This double room is just a few minutes walk from all this wonderful city has to offer including the cathedral & museums. The vibrant High Street is at the end of the road.
PLEASE NOTE - I am carrying out some small renovations on my house during summer 2018, therefore the room is offered at a discounted rate. I'm doing a bit of painting, having the stair carpet replaced & relaying the floor in the lounge. I'm also having the chimney breast repaired in the bedroom as there is a slight leak causing a small damp patch. Until the work is completed my house could be described as clean & comfortable, but a little rough around the edges. I don't anticipate the work being too intrusive, but thought it fair to mention it. Description - This large, bright room in my Georgian cottage is right in the middle of the city. The High Street with its numerous shops & restaurants is at the end of our road, less than 2 minutes walk away. All of Canterbury's museums & Canterbury Cathedral are within a 5 minute walk. Westgate Towers are at the end of the road & the beautiful Westgate Gardens with the river Stour running through are straight accros the road, less than 1 minute away. The riverboat tours operate very close to us. Canterbury West train station for the fast service into London is a 5 minutes walk away. From here you can be in central London within 45-50 minutes. Canterbury West station also serves the Kent coast & Ashford for the high speed service to Paris & Brussels. Canterbury East train station is 10 minutes walk from here & takes you to Dover for the ferries to France & Belgium. Buses for the lovely coastal town Whitstable stop very close-by & the main bus station is a couple of minutes walk. From the house it's easy to explore the whole city without using any pubilc transport. The room has a newly fitted carpet. We have fast wifi & good tv package. You are welcome to help yourself to tea, coffee & cereals etc. You may use the kitchen to cook & keep food if you wish. We only ask that you clean up after yourself. Towels are provided & there's a spare duvet kept in the wardrobe should it be needed. The room has a double mattress, 2 chests of drawers, wardrobe & a full length mirror a small cupboard & a chair. There are no hidden charges or extra charges for cleaning. There isn't parking with the property but there are plenty of car parks nearby & free parking on the road just a little further afield(about7 or 8 minutes walk). You can use the washing machine whenever you want. Being in the centre of the city, the area can occasionally be noisy, it's never bothered me as it's just background noise, mainly traffic, but it's something to bear in mind if your sleep is easily disturbed by noise. The check-in time has been listed as 6pm, but this is worst case scenerio, in reality we should be able to meet you much earlier than this with prior arrangement. If you're thinking of staying here just let me know a few things about yourself & what you are planning to do in Canterbury. No need for an essay, just a few sentences will do. I'm looking forward to meeting lots of new people over the next few months.
  • Steve was a great host! He made us (my mom and I) feel welcome and helped whenever we had a question. He lives so close to the center so it was a breeze going out and coming back in. And the room was so cozy. Looking forward to visiting him again! Cheers, mate. :)

    Violeta2016-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Steve was very nice and accommodating to our schedule as we had to leave our luggage with him before checkin time. We loved being so close to everything. He had great suggestions on where to go and how to save money. We had some great conversations with him and wish we could have stayed longer. We totally recomend Steve and his home.

  • Steve was a great host! The stay was really nice and convienient, everything was close and we had a great time in Canterbury! I really enjoyed to speak with Steve, he is so friendly and easy going! I hope to see you again!

    David2016-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Steve's location is truly amazing only a few blocks from the center of everything. I never felt the need for a car, bus or even a bike during my short stay. Given the central location, folks should be aware that the room overlooks a major street and there is traffic noise through the night. This was not a problem for me or my daughter, but if it could be for you, bring some earplugs. Steve provides use of a resident's card which got us free admission to a museum and a 10% discount at a local Indian restaurant. It no longer works for entry into the Cathedral. In short, this was a great place in an AMAZING location for a couple of days in Canterbury. Steve was a terrific host, and I probably should have used more of his guidance. He reminds me of the origins of AirBnB where friendly people offered up rooms in their houses not just as a way to make a few bucks but as a way to meet new people from all over.

    Eric2013-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Steve was a very nice host who helped us out greatly visiting sights in Canterbury. The house is nearly in the centre of town, right near the river and High street. I would recommend staying with Steve anytime.

A delightful self contained rural holiday chalet situated in the 3.5 acre grounds of our smallholding. We are in a small rural hamlet surrounded by orchards and footpaths with a village pub 4 doors away. Close to sandy beaches at Minnis Bay, Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate's Royal Harbour. Whitstable and the city of Canterbury are close by. We are also only 30 minutes to the eurotunnel and dover port if you fancy a day trip to france. Sandwich Bay and St Georges golf course are a short drive.
The chalet is newly refurbished. It has an open plan lounge, kitchen, diner, shower room, a bedroom with a kingsize bed and walk in wardrobe with plenty of space, a second bedroom with 2 single beds which can be zipped together to make a kingsize bed if requested in advance. Outside there is a covered veranda with chairs to enjoy the evening sun. A picnic bench is outside and parking for 2 cars.
The local pub is 4 doors away which serves food 7 days a week. There are also many good restaurants in nearby villages. There is a butchers and village store in Preston 2 miles away. There are bigger shops nearby in Birchington and Minster or supermarkets at Westwood Cross. The river Stour is a short walk and other good walks through the local orchards are popular.
  • We had a great time, very peaceful and relaxing due to the nice and quiet location of the cottage - full of calm and privacy (need a car to get there). We really enjoyed the quality of the beds, the cleanliness of the place and the nice breakfast provided :)

  • Kyla's shed is the nicest shed I've ever stayed in! We arrived later than planned, after dark, and got completely lost. Kyla was really responsive in our hour of need and waited for us outside to make sure we found it! Lovely touches in the kitchen with home made jam and croissants. Loads of towels, and a great sofa for hangout out while it rains outside!! Lovey stay, great host.

    Stella2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place connected to horse stables and some really sweet horses. Clean and comfortable, 2 houses away from a restaurant and a few blocks away from some really great food. Margaret greeted us (Kyla’s Mum?) and was helpful and gracious. We met Kyla’s Dad later and he was a total character and joy. Kyla was kind and helpful. The place serene yet well situated for travel be it solo or more, business or a romantic getaway. Rural but convenient. Fell in love with Tufty the Shetland pony. Bring mints for the horses, they love them. (But ask first) Very solid AirBnB. Lovely location. Thanks for everything Kyla!

    Danny2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend Kyla's gorgeous hide away. A home from home, with lots of thoughtful touches. We will definitely be back.

    Andrea2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • A brilliant place to stay. Kyla and Perry have thought of everything you need in this cottage.

    Elizabeth2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The shed was really lovely. We loved the details in the house. Everything was perfect. Because the house is just a half houre drive from Dover it is the perfect stop on your way home or on your way to another place in Engeland. It is a very peacefull place.

Passengers little house is a newly renovated perfectly formed little bit of luxury, full of character, where you are welcomed by a double height ceiling, oak floor and luxurious carpet on the mezzanine which over looks the living space. On the outside fronted with black boarding for a Kent barn look. Passenger is an ideal holiday pad with spectacular views of the seafront only a 2 minute walk away .A perfect romantic get away, friends sharing and ideal for the lone traveller as very safe.
Booking is for two nights minimum but do ask if I'm not booked it's possible could do just one. Tankerton is a hidden gem, open and spacious with easy parking and a large green expanse, 'The slopes', where you get the greatest views of the seafront. Jojo's an award winning tapas restaurant is located on the slopes with sea views, a great place for lunch or dinner. Passengers Little House is a one bedroom self contained house located on the side of our own. There is the option of a pull down sofa bed. The living area is a well thought out double height space with hanging pendant lights, comfortable seating and a wall mounted remote controlled T.V with the option of Netflicks. A kitchenette which will meet all your needs, with the very important cafeteria, toaster, good size fridge and freezer, microwave and plug in hob. The bathroom is of a high spec, you are met with a glass and tiled walk in shower a well placed vintage cabinet holding the sink above which you will find a touch free light sensor on the mirror for added luxury. A small flight of stairs leads to the bedroom mezzanine area, this is carpeted for a luxurious and cosy feel, here you will find a king size bed which all praise for being super comfortable, I am always being asked where I brought it from, I take pride and care with ironed bedding and bath and hand towels. This is an uncluttered calm space with a bespoke cloths hanger, I have put some romantic discrete lights for soft lighting. Upstairs as with downstairs you will find usb direct plugins. We are available if you need us or any info about the area we are very happy to help, often tho only see guests arrive or leave, it is easy to find your feet and then make the most of your stay . I have lived here for 8 years, moving from London and have never been disappointed at the view from the slopes all weathers and seasons its a very special arena to see so far out to sea and so much sky above. This is a sea front without crowds often you can spend the day with what seems like your own private piece of beach in-between the groynes that go out to sea at regular intervals. No need to miss out on any of the hustle and bustle of Whitstable life it is a 15 minute walk along the front where the crowds await. Whitstable is packed with amazing restaurants and independent boutiques along side some more obscure spaces and outlets. I own a vintage and retro ladies clothes shop on the beach at Keams yard opening April - September only situated in- between Keams yard Gallery and Kent and London hand made furniture store. A short distance from Pearsons pub and restaurant and the famous Native Oyster Restaurant, where you can buy the world famous whitstable oysters. The night life is great you can choose how much of it you would like to soak up there are always live bands in many of the local pubs, Whitstable is well known and respected for its live music. It's at this point when I am always happy to be living in Tankerton returning to the quite and calmness for sleep. I would post that this destination is a great all rounder there are many other great places to visit with easy access from here by car or train the station is only a short walk away. The house is very well placed for all your needs and great access at the end of the road is Tankerton high street where you will find a mini Tesco's, very handy, many take aways, a micro brewery pub The Tankerton Arms , The Wine shop\bar, restaurants and more. The bus stop is also very conveniently placed at the end of the road you can hop on a bus either to come home or go out for the evening in Whitstable or Canterbury, Whitstable being only 5 minutes away.
Graystone Road is one of the beautiful long wide roads leading directly to the seafront with a traditional wooden seating house at the end on the Slopes over looking the sea perfect for fish and chips dinners.
  • Querky little place to say very clean and modern just a little walk from the seafront would recommend...

    Neil2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and well designed space, great for a couple and so close to the sea. We will definitely stay at Amanda’s place again if we come back for another visit.

    Mei2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely spot! From the moment we booked until after we dropped the keys off Amanda was really approachable and friendly with loads of great tips! The apartment was spotless, had everything we needed and it was so close to the beach. There were great restaurants and micro breweries on the doorstep (or a short pleasant walk). I really recommend and we’ll be back!! Xx

  • Great little place, in a fantastic location with friendly and attentive hosts. Top marks! A+

    Rachel2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem we found here. Amanda and Alex were the perfect hosts and we really felt that they would do anything for us. The place itself was so nice that we even considered staying in for the night. They really made you feel welcome and had even left a few bits for breakfast if needed. We usually stay in one of the hotels but will be staying here again next time we come to Whitstable. We love the walk along the beach from Tankerton and it was a perfect location (with the local shops helping out as well) - we could not recommend this place enough!

    Daniel2017-12-06T00:00:00Z

  • Passenger's Little House is a charming, stylish bolthole, perfectly curated with everything you need. Tankerton is a perfect location from which to walk along the seafront or into Whitstable. Tankerton Road has a great parade of charity and independent shops for a good rummage and finding a gem. Amanda was kind and attentive, ankd clearly minds for her guests' happiness. A super-refreshing getaway from London!

Bright Double room with oak flooring. Nice clean open space with a built in wardrobe and a desk/vanity. The people that live here are easy going with a passion for food and travel. We have available fridge, freezer and cupboard space for you, if needed. The property is a 15 min walk to town and is on a bus route. We can't wait to meet You!
  • Gemma’s place is clean and comfortable. Gemma and Harry are super friendly and sure to offer their help when needed. Buses to the City Centre are frequent on weekdays and Saturday so it’s pretty convenient. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely recommend!

  • Amazing stay at Gemmas. Location great and room so nice with super comfy bed. Gemma is the best host and I honestly had one of the best Airbnb experiences staying here! Cannot thank you enough for your hospitality and for a great stay.

    Claire2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • What an awesome experience. Welcoming beyond what we could have hoped. Great tips of where to visit and eat, and a wonderful evening of kitchen conversations with a couple bottles of wine. The room was a great size, tidy and airy and we had a wonderful nights rest. Amazing company and genuine kindness. So thankful we made this our first stop on or tour of Europe!

    Marco2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Both hosts were so lovely. Communication was on point! Quick response which is great service! Very keen to meet us and welcome us. Even offered food and a drink when we arrived! They allowed me to use their own toiletries as i had forgotten to bring my body wash and shampoo which was generous. And were helpful when we needed a ride, letting us know what cab service to call and offering to call and book one for us. Room clean! Bathroom clean! Not a lot of clutter which is good because we had space to put all our stuff (which was a lot). A bonus would of been a hairdryer but to be fair everything else was great value for money. The shower was lovely as well, easy to use and good pressure! Was great to have a mirror in the room, for us ladies to do our make-up and check our outfits in! Wifi and key all ready when we got there. Very efficient! Thank you for everything!

    Caroline2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great for what we needed. Just needed to have a room close-ish to the euro tunnel so we could get the earliest train. Arrived at about 9:30pm and was gone by 5am - Gemma was nice and room was as described. Thanks!

    Joseph2018-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at Gemma's place. The house is really pretty, clean and well equipped. The room was big and the bed very comfortable. Gemma and Harry are the best hosts I've met on AirBnB. They are welcoming, friendly and we spent two amazing nights there. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in Canterbury and if I ever go back there I will go back to their house for sure.

  • The stay at Mark’s and Francis’ is one to remember, in a positive way ;-). After a very smooth check-in and show of the house, we went out for a bit. After returning to Mark’s home we were envited for a glass of wine and had an amazing evening with lots of laughs and good talks. In the morning we were greeted by a delicious breakfast in front of the door of our room, with even better coffee! The room is spotless and looks amazing. Mark and Francis are very friendly, welcoming and we honestly felt home. We really hope to be back in the future!

    Dennis2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Mark is a very kind and obliging host who helped us with our bags and brought up a whole host of wonderful things for breakfast – it was such a shame my friend was taken quite ill and couldn’t manage much at all . The property is in an ideal location where you can reach the sea front in just a few minutes by foot and can then walk along the beach one way or via the harbour into the town . There is no allocated parking at the property but we found a space quite easily just up the road and that was on a busy August weekend . Whitstable has plenty of interesting independent shops , restaurants and bars we particularly liked the continental hotel which is a stones throw from the property . The apartment itself is large and spacious with a great free standing bath. Our only constructive comment was that some of the furnishings felt a little tired and it would improve the comfort experience for guests if these could improved.

Very nice single room for one person in a large, light and spacious Penthouse flat in central Canterbury. The patio has great views and you can see Canterbury Cathedral in one direction and the prestigious Marlowe Theatre in the other. The flat is super convenient for the restaurants, nightlife and parks as well as for the historic sights and the main shopping street. We are only 10 minutes walk to either of the train stations or the bus station. We enjoy having guests and I am sure you will enjoy your time here.

    Lou2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • We would thoroughly recommend staying here. Excellent location, a two minute walk from the main high street of Whitstable and right across the road from the harbour. The flat is so pretty from the moment you walk into the hall with fairy lights and notes from previous guests. The flat itself is shabby chic (with an emphasis on chic!) and very homely with everything you could need, including a very hot shower! Lots of information about the surrounding area. The small touches are what makes Sian's place stand out; a breakfast hamper, sweets, biscuits, milk and butter and movie of the week! Thank you Sian!

    Charlotte2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely apartment in a great location. Beautifully decorated and very welcoming. Perfect location for the beach and town

    Suzanne2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • The flat is very shabby chic and simply beautiful, in a prime location opposite whitstable harbour. There is a bus stop right outside that goes to canterbury should you need it, but the beach and the local shops and restaurants are within a couple of minutes walk. Sian was a great host, check in was very simple and communication was great. There were lovely touches and gestures when we arrived which we really appreciated! Street Parking can be tricky but it is whitstable! However there are many local car parks around if need be! We stayed just the one night for a wedding locally but would definitely recommend and stay again!

    Ruby2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We were very impressed with all the effort the host had gone to in order for our stay to be comfortable, e.g. Books, tea, biscuits, croissants, etc. The place is spotless and an amazing place to stay.

  • Nikki was a fantastic host and has such a lovely home. The place is immaculate and the photos don't quite do it justice. We were at a wedding in preston which is a 5 minute drive away from the venue so its an ideal place to stay saving a fortune in taxis etc. Perfect home for a country escape away from the city!

    Dominic2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Divine. So peaceful, relaxing and utter bliss. The jacuzzi is lovely and private, the home is comfortable, warm and easy to make yourself at home. Nikki was the perfect host, keeping distance to give us privacy but always available and friendly when we had questions. She also suggested a Sunday pub lunch which was delicious. We had a wonderful stay and left feeling very relaxed. Perfect for a getaway.

    Megan2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Nikki's place is a beautiful little house out in the countryside near Canterbury, which was perfect for a couple's break. All the amenities were provided and the hot tub was a great addition to the weekend (note: this was paid for in addition to the normal price of the booking). We were gutted to leave and I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested.

    Nathan2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What an amazing place made so perfect by Nikki. Would recommend to any couple looking for a little get away. Enjoyed every moment and upon request Nikki helped us out with some items while there. Thank you again for a wonderful stay! :)

  • Just arrived back from two nights at the coach house for our anniversary and would highly recommend it! The location is so peaceful, amazing grounds, easy reach of Canterbury / Whitstable and the hot tub was a brilliant bonus!

  • We stayed at Nikki’s place at the beginning of the month ( August 2018). We’d rate it 10/10 - the pictures don’t do it any justice. The bedroom was plush and well decorated. Everything was clean and in perfect order. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. Definitely recommend. Can’t wait to stay again.

  • Wonderful space, great host. Really recommend staying here.

  • Nikki’s place is lovey - very cosy and spacious just as in the photos. I would recommend hiring a car to visit as taxis are expensive and a car would give you more options for walks and visits in the local area. The hot tub was a great way to unwind and the tips from other travellers to bring flip flops and an extra towel was very helpful for the hot tub. Check in was so easy with the key safe, especially as we arrived quite late. We were glad we brought some food supplies for breakfast and snacks as we were a while away from any shops, although Nikki did kindly provide bread, butter, milk and tea and coffee. We took the train to Canterbury to explore after we left which was lovely. We would love to visit again for either a lazy relaxing weekend or for a base to explore the surrounding area by car more. Thank you Nikki!

In the heart of the Canterbury pedestrianized high street area, is a one bedroom attic apartment in a property over 500 years old. It has a single bedroom with a double bed, living room, kitchen and bathroom, free private parking and wifi. Professionally managed.
Attic apartment in a building over 500 years old. Quirky, romantic, interesting, cute and different. Managed by professional property/hospitality team.
Vibrant small city atmosphere and no traffic!
  • This is a lovely quirky flat in the attic of an old timber framed building, with all the implications on low ceilings, un-flat floors, low doors etc. We loved it! It is very spacious for a couple, with the lounge and dining areas set up for four people. Everything is very comfortable, although my wife found the bed too soft (I thought it was fine). The flat is above a shop and is located on the main shopping street in Canterbury. It's great for people-watching as everyone walks past. There is some noise from the pub close by, especially if you have the window in the dining area open in the evening, but it is not too loud or rowdy, just what you would expect. But you get no noise at all in the bedroom as that is at the back of the flat. Overall the flat was well equipped with everything you would expect (and more in some cases). Richard met us to give us the key and made us very welcome on our arrival, even though we gave him much less than the requested 30 minutes notice (to give him time to drive over to the flat). He answered our pre-arrival questions very promptly.

  • Richard met us at the station which was very welcome and showed us through the flat. Everything about the flat was excellent- very clean, well equipped and most of all in our opinion lots of quirky corners, ancient beams and sloping floors. It could not be better situated for exploring Canterbury- the Cathedral, theatre , museums and shops are a minutes walk from the door. Many restaurants also - spoilt for choice.

  • The apartment was really special, right in the heart of the city such a beautiful building. Richard couldn't have been more accommodating, personally greeting us from the station and making us feel at home. The apartment had everything you need and more for a pleasant stay and was very comfortable and relaxing.

  • Wonderful experience in this cosy and charming flat right on Canterbury high street - it was exactly as described and just what we needed for our stay. Richard even went out of his way to pick us up from the train station and showed us around the flat himself. Comfy beds, hot showers, fully kitted kitchen, wifi and lots of thoughtful touches. Would recommend any time. Thanks Richard for a great experience!

  • A brilliant location right in the heart of Canterbury - perfect if you want to visit the local sights, do some shopping, get a train, or go out in the evening. The flat is very quirky - beautifully clean, lovely additional touches, and has everything you could need. I would recommend!! Richard is a great host

  • This is the perfect place for me to stay - so central, close to the train station, and it takes me no time to get to uni on the bus. It's lovely being in the hub of things but still feeling tucked away. Always sparklingly clean, with all the things you might need - including a bowl of chocolates!! I would highly recommend

  • Very central and a great location, with a quirky layout reflecting its 500 years of age. Enjoyed our stay very much. Richard was very attentive and easily contactable.

  • Richard was a very accommodating and flexible host - and so was the flat. Richard's tour included the history of the building and all its quirks. It's a brilliant location with everything in easy walking distance, so you can leave the car safely tucked up in the flat's space.

The rooms I've had on Airbnb have proved very popular, with many good reviews. My daughter's now at university, so I'm adding her "homework room" to the site. Same hospitality and breakfast, nice garden, cute dog! Ideal base to explore East Kent. Due to steps and stairs, not suitable for people with limited mobility.
A relatively large, simply furnished room with single bed in a large cottage, built 1733. Please note there is no wardrobe in this room, but it does have a nice big desk with a comfortable chair! There is a rail where you can hang things up. The house has not been overly modernised, but has central heating, modern shower/wetroom, and Wifi. Ideal base for exploring East Kent (Canterbury, Dover etc). Some guests find the staircase rather steep - this house is not suitable for people with mobility problems.
East Kent is stuffed full of history! From the Romans and Vikings, through the Normans and Tudors, to the Napoleonic and World Wars, this corner of England has always been of huge importance. The most important thing to see is of course Canterbury Cathedral, but then there's the White Cliffs of Dover, Whitstable, Broadstairs, Sandwich, Faversham, and dozens of pretty villages with picturesque pubs with good local beer and food! There are also dozens of castles and gardens which are open to the public. Kent is "The Garden of England"; there's very little industry, and it's mainly agricultural. Canterbury, however, has an extremely high student population, and is a very busy, vibrant city, still retaining some of its medieval streets. There is also a large modern shopping centre. The coast is within a half hour drive of Littlebourne to the north, east and south. All the seaside areas and towns around the coast are very different; there are vast sandy beaches, massive chalk cliffs, fishing towns, acres of sand dunes and mudflats, and Victorian seaside resorts with the original piers.
  • This is a friendly and convenient location. It was ideal for my business trip and I was made very welcome. Highly Recommended.

  • very deailed description. Heather is very kind ad helpful. She will help you so heartedly that I doubt how she can make money from doing airbnb. It's 11 minutes' bus ride from Canterbury. Her house is the real British one. Every corner has its style. Besides her and her house, I love her dog who is active and friendly. Her daughter sings well.

  • Quiet room not overlooking the road. Friendly and welcoming and always lovely to be met by Katie the dog. Added bonus breakfast made for me in the morning. Hot water and a choice of bath and shower. Interesting period house with original features.

  • Quiet Comfortable and Relaxing Just what I needed Only 10/14 min on bus from Canterbury bus Station
