Your host is a well-traveled who love to meet new people and Grace is an amazing cook if you want to eat well. If you like swimming, the new Richmond Aquatic center (indoor) is just a block away and the El Cerrito pool (outdoor) is just a few miles a way. Nice bike trail in the parkway under BART. Richmond is an up and coming area, with a diverse population. Our neighborhood is very family-oriented with many parks and access to the Bay. El Cerrito Plaza, a large shopping area, is five minutes away by car.
  • Brian and Grace were wonderful hosts! We had many great conversations over meals but they let me have my personal time in my room as well. The house was very clean. I will definitely stay with them if I ever return to the Oakland area. I recommend them 100%.

  • Grace was a great hostess! Check in was super easy, we used her kitchen without issues, she gave us space in her fridge for us to keep our food! The house is super clean. The room is very sunny in the mornings because there are 2 large skylights in the ceiling. The walk to Bart is less than a mile! It's a great place and would totally stay there again! Thanks Grace

  • Grace is a talented hostess, friendly and easy to be with. We slept comfortably and quietly and had everything we needed; my daughter’s wheel chair needed a different room to accommodate her needs. Grace immediate attended to her needs. I plan to stay again, in the near future. Grace is a gracious host and makes you feel very welcome. The house is beautiful and orderly.

  • Grace was a gracious host, and a very good chef. I had the opportunity to join her supper club group for a meal, and it was great, as was the company! House was as advertised and I walked to the BART each day. Didn't have to drive at all while I was there. All in all a very comfortable stay. Thanks Grace!

Come stay in our beautiful house in a charming, calm, quintessential SF neighborhood. We have prepared a private suite with 1 bedroom + 1 large additional room, with your own bathroom and private entrance. The suite is at the garage level, below our family with 2, sporadically noisy, small children. We have some of the best street parking in SF, usually right in front of our house. There is a kitchenette, but, no kitchen! Several public transport options nearby. Permit: STR-OOOO655
Your own private space- like a large studio apartment (400 sf), with your own separate entrance (through the side of the house) into your large 2-room suite (1 bedroom + 1 large additional room), and a private bathroom. No kitchen. - Up to 2 large beds: a queen bed, a self adjustable portable queen air mattress. -Netflix & WII -Bottle of wine, coffee/ tea -Baby friendly. -Trampoline and chairs out back In the "bedroom", there is: a closet, a writing/work table with chair, 2 small portable heaters and your own private bathroom located adjacent. In the additional room: There is: a table w/ 4 chairs, a sofa, a fridge, microwave, a coffee pot, an electric kettle, toaster and basic porcelain dishes - but no kitchen (no stove or kitchen sink is there). There's also a large flatscreen TV with Netflix (movies on demand=no cable or tv) and Wii. Some guests put the air mattress in the additional room, and move the table into the bedroom.
The Neighborhood, Westwood Park: We are in a safe & quiet residential neighborhood, with hills and amazing views. Our area retains a charming old San Francisco feeling. We are blessed with some of the best free and often easy street parking in SF (street parking is generally tough in SF). There is close access to many vibrant areas in SF, such as: the Haight, the Mission (sadly less safe), Glen Park, The Castro, Union Square, SF zoo, Ocean beach, Ocean Avenue, etc. We are near Safeway on Monterey, Big Joe's diner, Wholefoods on Ocean Ave., Ocean Ale house, a taco truck & K's kitchen!
  • A lovely and private place to stay. The apartment was clean and spacious and Jeremy was very hospitable. I'd recommend this as a great place in SF if you have a car!

  • Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay in your place. The room was very clean and cozy with enough space for the three of us. You're quick response to messages made all the difference.

  • This was our first AirBNB trip and we have nothing but good things to say about Jeremy and Laura. They were accommodating and had a great place to stay. We stayed for over 5 nights and had a comfortable experience during our trip here in San Francisco. Highly recommend this place to stay if you are in the area looking for a safe, respectable, and comfortable location to stay.

  • A lovely home with lovely hosts! This cute apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood yet central to various shops, restaurants, public transportation, and the heart of the city. With only one night to spend, I didn't get the chance to personally interact with Laura & Jeremy other than a quick "Hello" but they were very accommodating and polite in preparation for my arrival. My only wish is that I could've stayed longer! Any guest would be happy to stay here :)

    Dara2013-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jeremy and Laura were amazing hosts! the location was perfect, away from the hustle and bustle. their house is right in between the airport and downtown. only a 15 minutes drive from both. parking is super easy, there is always a spot nearby. the neighborhood is very safe and clean, we took walks late at night after dinner. will definitely stay again!

    Aaron2013-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is in a perfect location was very clean and a perfect size for what we were looking for. Had everything we needed! The only thing that we didn’t understand was that on here it is describe as a separate unit, but it is actually not because it is connected to there house and the only thing blocking you from upstairs are 2 curtains. We felt a little weird knowing they could just walk down into our place when we were gone. Also whoever was running around upstairs and moving furniture woke us up two mornings in a row by 7:30am.

The Parkside neighborhood is a safe, quiet, suburb-like neighborhood near Ocean Beach and Lake Merced.

  • My stay at Philip's place was wonderful! Philip has a very nice, comfortable and clean house. Wonderful hosts who are willing to give good tips and are just really nice people in general! The place is a short drive away from everything good in San Francisco and you can walk up to the L metro which goes 24 hours a day. Definitely stay here if you have the chance!

Your own private room and bathroom just for your group. House is on a hill with a great view. Plenty of unlimited time free parking in front. Free maps, breakfast food and advice about what to do in San Francisco. See my reviews in chronological order at https://www.airbnb.com/users/show/4921. This is the best view because you can see how many guests I host from non English speaking countries.
This room can fit six people. Nobody else will be in your room other than people in your group. The bunk bed sleeps two, and the two full size beds sleep four. There is a private bath with shower stall in your room. If you book for seven people, that person will have a twin size mattress on the floor. This detached house was built in 1958 and has five bedrooms and is located on a huge hill near Twin Peaks and Golden Gate Park. I offer multiple bedrooms simultaneously on Airbnb so there will be other guests here during your stay, possible a dozen or more. There is plenty of free unlimited time parking in front of my house on the street, but not inside the house as the check box I checked suggests. If you book more than two months in advance, you must set the guest count to a minimum of four people. You are welcome to make use of the kitchen. There is a large living room with a large dining room table you can eat or work at. There is a deck out back that has a fabulous view of wooded hills. The nearest house out back is a block away, so you feel like you are living in a forest. Our young border collie dog Angel poops and pees on this deck, so please watch your step. Angel will bark a lot and be very excited to see you, so please don’t stay here if you or anyone in your group is scared of dogs. My wife and I have a toddler, so I have disabled the front stove burners, leaving just three working burners for all to share. I don't want my daughter reaching up and grabbing a hot pan that could kill or maim her, so that's why the burners are out of service until perhaps 2020. You get your own bedroom with a bunk bed and two full size beds. I also provide towels, sheets and blankets. There are two five-foot-wide closets, one with hangers. If you want to cook while you're here, you can store food in the mini fridge dedicated to your room. You may not store food or eat in your room. Please drink only water in your room. The closest underground Municipal Railway (MUNI) station is Forest Hill. You can walk there in 15 minutes. The 36 MUNI bus stops there and will take you to and from the house. The bus stop is right in front of the house. This bus is lightly used and only comes every 30 minutes, so many prefer to walk to the station. Uber and Lyft are affordable in San Francisco, and many of my guests bypass public transit entirely in favor of ride sharing services. The house is centrally located near the geographic center of San Francisco, but it is not close to bars, shops, tourist spots, nightlife or anything other than private residences. That means this location is unusually quiet and even peaceful for a busy city like San Francisco. I provide extensive breakfast ingredients, so you can cook breakfast free of charge, which can save you a lot of money versus eating out. You can make yourself a second or third breakfast for lunch or dinner, but that costs extra. Quiet hours are between 22:00 and 7:00. I ask that you whisper quietly after 22:00, and not watch any movies without earphones. Please don’t move around much or pack your bags during quiet time. You should also not plan to sleep soundly past 7:00 if you stay here. When a dozen or more people start walking around, cooking breakfast, showering and talking with each other, the house is full of energy and can be noisy. I provide earplugs to help you sleep even if others are snoring. If you book more than two months in advance, you must set the guest count to a minimum of four people, even if your party is smaller. If you forget to do this and Instant Book, you will have to Alter your reservation to increase the guest count to four, or you will be obligated to cancel your reservation within 47 hours of booking. The floors squeak, the plumbing groans, the walls are scuffed, the kitchen is 60 years old... in other words, the house is old and tired. Don't stay here if you want to feel like you are staying at a five star hotel. Yes, my listings has five stars, but that's more about my hospitality and enthusiasm for meeting people than the physical surroundings. I charge a cleaning fee of only $10, so don't expect five star hotel levels of cleanliness. I am booked nearly every night in every room, so there is rarely time for a deep cleaning. The public areas are less likely to be clean than your room and bathroom because my wife and I are raising a toddler, so expect the clutter, dust and chaos that comes with raising a daughter while also hosting over 1,000 Airbnb guests a year. If you expect or desire true cleanliness, I respectfully invite and encourage you to stay somewhere else. Please read my house rules before you book, as there are extra charges for not adhering to some of the rules.
  • Kevin has a great location, near Muni and Golden Gate Park. We enjoyed interacting with the other guests as well as Kevin. The amenities are just as listed and Kevin has this dialed in. The kitchen was wonderful for preparing breakfast and a choice of Apple and Orange juice was nice. The view off the back deck is very nice and we would love to stay there again.

  • Kevin embodies the ideal AirBnB experience. He has been a host since the beginning, and his (long) list of rules is not meant to detract from the experience, but to make it the absolute most hospitable and welcoming environment for every one of his hundreds of guests. His communication is unparalleled, expectations were clear, orientation upon arrival is thoughtful, and recommendations undoubtedly helpful. His neighborhood in San Francisco is clean and serene. I cannot recommend Kevin’s place enough. His unique hospitality epitomizes the value of an AirBnB experience. I leave my best wishes for Kevin, his partner, and their newborn daughter. I will certainly stay again should my travels bring me back to San Francisco.

  • Kevin's house is very comfortable and safe. A great stay is a reasonably priced guarantee at this cozy little San Francisco residence. Rooms are well suited to larger groups (5-6 persons).

  • We stayed one night at Kevin's place. It was great. Kevin was a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome. The room was nice, bed was comfy, had a great night sleep after an awesome night out in San Fran. The house was in a nice quiet area, which was a very cheap uber ride from most of the areas we were visiting. Highly recommend!

  • Room as described, really convenient location to ANYWHERE if you are looking for a stay while visiting SF. Kevin, the host, lives on site and is really attentive to details, making sure everything is alright. Strongly recommend to those travel in a group of 2-4.

  • Kevin's home was everything I could have asked for during my too-short visit to San Fransisco. It was quiet, had a spectacular view from its back porch, and above all Kevin was very accommodating and quick to answer any questions I had. I hadn't stayed at an airbnb that served multiple guests at a time before, and truth be told I never have because I've been a little apprehensive. However, to a family from China to visitors from Spain and Iran, all the people I met during my stay were interesting and a pleasure to talk to, which certainly added to my good experience.

    Bradley2016-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Kevin's place for 5 nights. We came in around 8 p.m. on a Friday evening, and Kevin was kind enough to pick us up from the airport, so we wouldn't have to lug our suitcases up the San Francisco hills at night. The neighborhood was quiet which was a nice getaway from our busy days visiting different areas of the city. Since it is geographically central in the city it was easy to take public transportation in most directions - we were able to go towards the ocean, SFSU, downtown, the bridge, Golden Gate Park, Castro , ect. all in two or less modes of public transportation. Kevin provides ear plugs for light sleepers since you are typically sharing the home with other guests. You can meet people from all over the world with incredible stories at Kevin's. Also, waking up to orange juice and a quick breakfast is always wonderful! This was my first aribnb experience and it went very smoothly. Kevin made everything as simple as possible and staying with him was a great deal in a fascinating city!

Our large guest bedroom in a tranquil neighborhood is available in a cool, modern house with hardwood floors, high ceilings, and views of San Francisco.
Your room is a well-appointed bedroom with two closets, a nice bed, a desk, a chair, TV with Netflix, hardwood floors, and 13' ceilings. Our home has a view of SF, nestled on a hilltop with a park behind us. We love the house and are excited to share it with you :-)
A good burrito (and Huevos Rancheros in the morning) can be found at Taqueria Dona Maria, 3550 San Pablo Dam Road El Sobrante, CA The closest grocery store is Raleys, also on San Pablo Dam Road. There is a Trader Joe's in Pinole about 10 minutes away. There is a small park directly behind our house which can be accessed from the stairs at the end of our street which is perfect for running, or just a look around. For hiking, we love Wildcat Canyon and Point Pinole. Of course, you're a short drive from one of the greatest cities in the world!
  • This was our first time doing a room in a house on Airbnb rather than a whole apartment. It was an amazing experience. Josh and Emily are wonderful hosts. They are welcoming and helpful without being overbearing. Chelsea and Frankie are THE BEST DOGS. We love them so much. The neighborhood is a suburb, so it's a bit of a trek to San Francisco but the transportation options are plenty and very easy. We had no problems going into the city and coming back at night. The room is spacious and has everything you could need. There is a ton of closet space and the bed is super comfortable. The private bathroom is great, updated, and they provide basic necessities. If you want a local experience in a real home and you love dogs, this room is definitely for you. I would stay here again.

  • Had a great 4 day stay, fast wifi, beautiful furniture & 2 friendly dogs. Bed was very comfortable, nice clean shower & quiet neighborhood with plenty of parking. Highly recommend!

  • Joshua's place was ideal for my needs for the week I stayed there. He and Emily are fantastic hosts and I enjoyed Chelsea and Frankie, too!

  • This was my first AirBNB. The hosts made our stay super easy. The location was close to the freeway with a view of the city. There was plenty of street parking. The house was quiet, and we had a great run-down of the house the moment we arrived. The hosts had an instruction page with wifi password and other handy tips. Even the pets were friendly. Great value! We would definitely stay again.

    Troy2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Location was a bit inconvenient for San Fran activities but beautiful home and accommodating hosts!

    Anna2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Joshua and Emily were very welcoming and gracious hosts who we thoroughly enjoyed meeting. Communication was easy. It was nice to have shared space in the refrigerator and access to the kitchen for our breakfasts. The listing was accurate, the room a good size and the home very pleasant, open and airy. It might be noted that the bathroom is off the main living space and not really 'private', although that did not pose a problem for us. This is a good neighborhood for a value accommodation if you have a car, as parking was easy and access to the highway convenient to get where we wanted to go. We did not spend time in the neighborhood other than to sleep but felt safe. Highly recommend!

Our social and vibrant hostel in downtown SF is the place to stay! Each dorm room has 4-8 single beds. We focus on creating a community vibe that encourages guests to gather together, share a meal and exchange travel stories!
We invite travelers and adventurers of all ages, from all corners of the globe, to rest their heads at this historic hostel in the heart of San Francisco. We pride ourselves on creating a community vibe and a space that encourages guests to gather together, exchange travel stories, and get to know one another. Each room has 4-8 single beds, bunk bed style. We provide a complimentary hair dryer and $1 towel rental from the front desk. There are five bathrooms on each floor, each with complimentary Essential Oil organic lavender shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. We also have a free sauna on the top floor and massage chairs in the lobby for your every relaxation need. Our Grand Ballroom is the heart of the hostel where people play music, make friends and unforgettable memories, fall in love with the city and each other, and raise glasses in celebration. The ballroom, where musicians are always invited to play, has a pool table, foosball table, books, games, and complimentary coffee and tea throughout the day. We provide free wi-fi throughout the hostel and also free computer use in our internet lounge. Just off of the ballroom we have a fully equipped kitchen that is open 24 hours a day for you to use. We provide a guest fridge for you store food, liquor, whatever you want! Every morning we offer a free breakfast that consists of bagels, fresh fruit, organic oatmeal, eggs, OJ, coffee and tea. We have free dinners every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We invite guests to help cook, but of course you don’t have to cook to eat! We are an incredibly social hostel. We have 24-hour front desk staff that is always happy to help with directions, recommendations or even just to exchange travel stories! Our hostel is located in the culturally rich neighborhood of North Beach (SF’s Little Italy) and borders America’s largest Chinatown. We have great food and great fun on all sides! The rhythm of the Beat poets flow in the streets outside their regular hangouts, like Vesuvio, and City Lights Bookstore, just a couple of blocks away. We are surrounded by numerous MUNI bus and train lines. The Bart train is about a 15 minute walk and we are only a 20 minute walk from the famous Fisherman’s Wharf. One thing to be aware of is that we are known as a very social hostel--it isn't unheard of for our guests to have loud parties in our ballroom. We would love to have you stay here, but we also understand that that environment isn't right for everyone. This is your home away from home, the perfect spot to leave your worries behind while you explore the many sights of the City by the Bay!
  • Happy people, happy place! Loved the free breakfast and dinners, and thought every staff member was great. We had some flight issues, and because we cancelled and then in-cancelled in the same day, were put up in a private room. Much appreciated. Comfortable and clean, too. I would stay here again in a heart beat. Thanks for being a part of a truly awesome SF experience.

West Portal is a San Francisco neighborhood that is charming, safe and centrally located. Convenient to Downtown, the Golden Gate Bridge and Golden Gate Park by public transportation. Our place is completely remodeled and tastefully decorated with good sunlight and a view of the garden. Our place is good for couples, business travelers, and families (with kids).
This is a private one bedroom suite that is on the lower level of our home with a private entrance. There is a full size refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave and coffee maker but no stove/cook-top or kitchen sink.
West Portal is a charming, safe and centrally located neighborhood in San Francisco. Within a 5-minute walk, there are many restaurants, coffee shops, a movie theater and ice-cream parlor.
  • Bassel's apartment is bright, clean and in a very nice and comfortable part of the city. Just down the hill are great shops and restaurants and it is ideally located to go all around the city or take day trips on either side of the Bay. Bassel is an excellent communicator and responded to any questions we had quickly.

    Matt2018-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely Fabulous! My son and I stayed in Bassel's apartment for a couple of days earlier this month, before flying home to the UK The apartment couldn't have been better, and was ideally placed to make use of the City's public transport system, with a MUNI Station being only a seven minute walk away. The fact that there wasn't on-street parking immediately available in the road outside wasn't an issue in practice, as I had thought it might be. There were streets no more than a five minute walk away where there was unrestricted parking, and I was able to park my hire car there (Website hidden by Airbnb) problem. Also the lack of a kitchen sink was not an issue at (Website hidden by Airbnb) son and I were out exploring the City most of the time, which included eating out. There was also a Starbucks on the way to the MUNI Station, which was ideal for our breakfast needs. Last but not least, Bassel himself could t have been more helpful...both over my initial booking and run-up to coming to stay in the apartment, and when my son and I were staying in the apartment...nothing was too much trouble for him, and this made all the difference to my first stay using AirBnB. Next time I'm back in SFO needing accommodation, Bassel will be the first person I contact!

    Alan2018-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Bassel was a great hosted, My stay in the airbnb was great!, the airbnb was really comfortable, it's too close to restaurants and public transport, also the neighborhood was awesome. I really recommend this place.

    Josué2018-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, we had a nice stay but there were 2 major inconveniences which we had not expected: 1) No kitchen!! The description lists a kitchen, so I went and purchased 2 big bag of groceries so that I could cook. Only to discover that the unit had a small microwave and a small toaster oven, one that resets every 5min so if you wanted to cook something substantial, you would have to reset every 5min. This was quite a frustrating discovery, particularly as I had brought groceries but also, a general inconvenience as I had small kids and really needed a working kitchen. 2) Parking. The property is surrounded by 2hr parking restrictions so if you have a car (like I did), this was a major inconvenience as I had to park blocks away. If you can cope with these 2 inconveniences, then the unit itself is well decorated and modern and Bassel and his wife are very nice.

    Theresa2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay, really central in West Portal. You are close to the muni and to all the shops. Bassel is a great host and was very responsive and helpful during our stay. I cannot say enough great things about the experience!

    Tiago2017-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great value for money in a nice neighborhood walking distance to West Portal. Lovely space and very private.

    Vivian2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely space close to public transport links and many restaurants.

    Ian2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very stylish accommodation- as seen on airbnb platform. Instructions were very clear for check in. Did not see the host in person but they were reachable when needed.

Our clean and simple 1-bedroom, 1-bath comfortably accommodates up to 2 adults and is centrally located within the Glenview, near small shops and restaurants. Come enjoy this beautiful space and friendly neighborhood!
Hi There! The Glenview is one of Oakland's friendliest and most beautiful neighborhoods! This home is only a few blocks from great restaurants, a small grocery shop, an incredible park, and close to public transportation that will take you to San Francisco (trip from our door to downtown SF via public is ~45 min, shorter (~30 min) if you are traveling during the morning work commute). This neighborhood has wonderful neighbors that surround for blocks! Two blocks away, there are mid- to upscale Sushi, South American, Italian/Pizza, Thai, and California/American restaurants. There is a wine bar, yoga studio, coffee shop and breakfast eateries too! A large and wonderful Oakland park is also around the corner. Your Bedroom: This bedroom, bathroom and small lounging area are part of a larger home but on a level all on its own and with a private entrance. Staying here is a mostly-private experience....What exactly does that mean? The bedroom is on ground level and accessed from the backyard (which we use as a family and you are welcome to also enjoy). The three areas shown in the pics are sectioned off from the rest of the lower level of the home via wall and sliding door (seen behind the couch). We occasionally visit the other side of that wall/door to do laundry and access our garage - and you may here some minimal sound through that wall on those occasions though we try to be respectful and quiet when doing so. We definitely want to be transparent that you will be sharing walls with a family with 2 young kids and although they are wonderful kids, they are not always conscientious of being quiet! The bed itself is a QUEEN bed. Early on in this rental we received a review that it was not very comfortable -- it is a firm mattress and I'm guessing that wasn't his preference. In response to that comment, we added a highly reviewed mattress topper (we absolutely want you to be comfortable!). Should you prefer the firmer mattress, we will work with you to remove the mattress topper and store it out of your space. WiFi internet access is free but there is no TV. The space is simple and uncluttered, great for singles, couples, or possibly a couple with a baby. Also Included in Rental: ~Fresh linens, clean blankets, towels, soap/shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer, iron. ~Morning coffee and tea. ~Parking is easily available on the street at no fee. PLEASE NOTE: There is a small coffee/tea bar stocked with some good coffee/tea options, a very mini-fridge with cream, but NO access to a kitchen with this rental. Pets: Our pets.... we have a chicken coop in our backyard with 4 lovely hens. The coop is approximately 20 meters from the house. The girls do cluck a little bit throughout the day. We also have a very sweet black lab mix named Mojo. He is never allowed downstairs on the same level as the rental space, but uses the backyard when we are out there. Your pets....we have enough pets. Sorry, your pets are not allowed. About us: We are a family of four -- two 8-yr old boys and two moms (an environmental scientist and educational consultant). The home is actually a duplex and we used to rent out the other unit on AirBnB but now to long term tenants. LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING YOU!!
  • This space was absolutely perfect for us! Alicia was so welcoming & accommodating. We were able to come & go as we pleased which was very nice.

  • Amazing space for the price. Was perfect for a quick stay in SF for the weekend, street parking was easy and is within a short drive of the BART station. Loved the neighborhood and the cute shops down the street, would definitely stay at this place again. Hosts provided everything you could possibly need!

    Jessica2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • One of the most stylish and most comfortable spaces I have ever stayed. Top notch and affordable. The area is great! It's close to everything Oakland and San Fransisco has to offer. Not only were the hosts amazing and the location was perfect. In addition, there were all the necessities you would need as if you were in a hotel including tooth brushes. I will definitely be coming back to Oakland to stay here all the time if I could

    Andrews2018-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Alicia's place was easy to access and just as described. We really liked the neighborhood. The bed was very comfortable and the place was really clean. It would have been nice to have a microwave available but this was disclosed in the description. I would definitely stay again.

  • Hong's place is really nice. It is very clean and has literally all the amenities imaginable from shampoo to lint rollers. Hong also pays a lot of attention to detail and her place is well decorated. It is also very close to the freeway. I would definitely recommend Hong's place to anyone visiting the Bay Area.

    Keyur2018-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Hong is a fantastic host who went out of her way to welcome us going above and beyond the call of duty. Hong’s place is quirky accommodation in a quiet area. The accommodation is immaculate with everything you could hope for and more. Hong’s communication and provision of local knowledge were excellent and she couldn’t have been a better host. Highly recommend

  • Barbara was a great host and was quick to respond to any questions I had. I only stayed for a short time but would definitely stay here again!

    Steven2018-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent value, Barbara was very thoughtful and super communicative. She also left us snacks, tea, coffee and suggestions for what to do in the area that were much appreciated. I was worried the bed would be uncomfortable but it wasn't at all. The listing mentions this but be aware the bathroom is basically the same room as the bedroom! If you don't mind that this place is a great home base to Oakland and San Francisco.

    Katya2018-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my stay in this airbnb. Barbara was a great host. She was very sweet and greeted us when we checked in. Everything was just as I expected it to be. The sunlight in the roof was a great feature and helped me wake up happy and refreshed in the morning. The location is great just minutes from the city. I would definitely stay again.

    Jacinda2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was very lovely and was in a good neighborhood. Barbara is very nice and gave us great hospitality!

    Karla2018-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • I totally recommend Barbara's little cottage, it's super comfortable and cozy. It was just what we were looking for.

    Abigail2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • We were satisfied, everything as described, photos correspond to reality. Sleeping was good, thank you Barbara.

    Marek2018-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • The bed is a futon that can fold to create more floor space if needed. I didn't attempt this, so I don't know how easy or difficult that is to do. The space is perfect for a person who doesn't need much more than a bed and a shower/toilet. I think it's an old carriage house or shed converted to a studio unit. The futon is very large. I'm well over 6 feet tall and could fit comfortably on it. The neighborhood is pretty cool and quiet on Barbara's street. I would stay here again when visiting the Bay Area.

    Matt2018-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara & Ellie were the kindest & most hospitable hosts one could ask for. The room was perfect for privacy & also included many generous amenities. The room was very tidy & clean & felt much like staying in a very small apartment. This is a great cozy spot for anyone looking to explore the East Bay. 10/10!

  • The room was great! The shower pressure was a little weak but we had some forewarning. There was a little dog in the house which we never saw who liked to bark at everything but we didn't spend much time on that floor. We never actually saw the host(ess) but she was readily available and quite responsive to texts. Overall, the spot served our needs.

We are blessed to live in one of the most amazing places on earth. Come join in our cozy downstairs efficiency apartment. Whether you want to just get away, break a sweat in our home gym, or lounge in our backyard; we'd be glad to host you. If you are looking for accommodations for a third person please let us know. We can add a twin size mattress for an additional fee.
Please be aware that this is a basement unit and the ceilings are a little low. The clearance in the overall space is 7' and the shower is 6'3". Our place is lovely and cozy, however if you are Shaquille O'Neal, this is not the ideal spot for you.
The neighborhood is quiet, safe , and culturally diverse. You will easily find street parking near the house. This is a phenomenal town that has over 20 parks, shopping, restaurants, museums and a beautifully maintained Beach that goes on for miles and miles. We moved here years ago and to this day we continue to be amazed at all that we have in this small 6 mile long island. Whether you're a foodie, an athlete, or someone who just wants to enjoy Alameda beach, we have everything you need.
  • When we arrived, Gabriella was very kind and met us outside, she gave us a tour of the place and had sweet touches like water and snacks available. There were some construction pieces out back and she explained all of it as soon as we got there. She was readily available and helped With recccomendatuons on how to navigate through Alameda and San Francisco. She was very kind and super transparent. I would recommend this location to others.

There was only st parking but it honestly was super easy to find. The home is central to Oakland and SF, easy to get to in Alameda and easy to get around. I would be back to stay here and would recommend for others to stay as well!

  • The room was comfortable, efficient and cozy. It was what was described and expected. The private bathroom and shower remodel was nice. Plenty of hot water for a nice wind down shower in the evening. Towels and bed linens were hotel quality, nice and plush. The fuzzy blanket was a bonus. The Brita filtered water was nice, for someone who likes to refill her water bottle often and easy to grab cereal bars were appreciated. Gabrielle was very accommodating and so gracious. She even offered me a scarf for the ferry ride over to SF & it was much needed! Overall great experience and value!

  • The place was cosy and clean. It’s a little far out from the city, so having a car is recommended. Lovely little touches throughout the apartment and Gabriella was helpful and clear in her messages. Thank you!

Awesome location in the heart of the artsy Mission neighborhood. Just steps away from Philz Coffee, Sidewalk Juice, El Nuevo Frutilandia, Percita Eyes, Wise Son's, The Pizza Shop and many more. This cozy studio cottage with an integrated bathroom is complete with twin bed/loft, mini fridge, k-cup coffee maker, light snacks/beverages and tv (local channels, Netflix). Hand soap, shampoo/conditioner, and shower gel available.
    Access to tropical backyard
The Mission has incredible weather for SF. Neighborhood is saturated with Latin flare, bakeries, restaurants, bars, and grocery stores. Brightly colored murals you'll find throughout this neighborhood of mixed use of residential and commercial space.
  • Super friendly hosts!! The spot is really cute and has everything you need. Perfect for one person who needs a very affordable place to stay in San Fran! Will definitely stay again.

  • The cottage is definitely small, however, it was in the best location, it was adorable, and Tyrisha and Rafael were absoluately amazing! We stayed in the Wharf after staying here and it was riddled with tourists and everything was much more expensive. After only a few hours we wished were back in the heart of Mission. We also went to their restaurant, which was super fresh and authentic, highly recommend checking that out! One night after dinner we ran into Rafael in the front of the house and we LOVE dogs and had yet to see this little harmless Jackson running around. Rafael did not hesitate and called for him to come down. He is beyond hilarious and him and Tryisha chatted with us about Mission's gems for quite some time while we got to pet little Jackson! Overall, what amazing hosts and experience, we will definitely venture back to this cute cottage!

  • This was perfect for my 1 person trip to SF! Walkable to lots of great stuff like the alamo drafthouse and many restaurants. The garden is beautiful and the little house so cozy!! My hosts were amazingly friendly and readily available.

  • This was a great place to stay for a few nights in San Francisco. It was an amazing location and a lovely little space, esp. for a lone traveller. Tyrisha was a very helpful host and replied to messages very promptly. The space could get a little cold at night and the wifi was a bit patchy but other than that a good base from which to explore the city.

Very large upstairs room (172 sq. ft.) for two in a private home. A stone's throw from public transportation (L Line, 18 or 29 Bus), Ocean Beach, the San Francisco Zoo, and Lake Merced. Free street parking always available!
We like to keep a friendly, homey atmosphere for the benefit of all. You will generally be greeted by smiling people and tail-wagging dogs. Fresh coffee every morning :)
We are located in the Sunset or Lakeside district of San Francisco. A few blocks away are grocery stores, shops, restaurants, and cafes, as well as the aforementioned lake (with trails, boating and fishing), the zoo, and Ocean Beach.
  • Large house, great location, very helpful hosts.

    Chen2018-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Philip's place is a relaxing spot in the sunset with large rooms and a very chill vibe. There are friendly neighborhood bars on the walk home from the muni, and watching the sun set from the dunes above the beach should not be missed while staying there.

    Andrew2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very pleasant stay, Philip was very helpful with the tips for both the city and the rest of my trip. Conveniently located just by the end stop of the L-streetcar.

    Filip2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Perfectly uneventful. Exactly what I wanted :)

    Ted2016-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • I had such a great time being a guest of Philip, Pam and Rupert! The room was as pictured, the bed was very comfortable but most importantly, they were such nice people. I had so many lovely chats with Pam, she's very charming and has lots to tell. Philip was very friendly and accommodating, he helped me bringing my suitcase up the stairs (it's a pretty big suitcase, Pam even joked about how I could fit a body in there!) and let me keep it in their house on my departure day until I had to go in the late afternoon. There was also freshly made coffee every morning which really helped me starting the day. The house is right next to the zoo and close to the beach, which was great for me, I loved walking to the beach! I wish I had more time to go and visit the zoo because I surely would have loved to. The L line stops nearby to take you downtown or to connect you with other stations. There were also a lot of buses, only a few minutes away. Last but not least, Rupert was such a sweet little guard dog, I just wanted to pet him all the time. I am already looking forward to my next visit to San Francisco and will gladly stay here again. Thanks for the great experience! I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to go to San Francisco.

    Minke2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great little spot. Room was very clean with everything as described. Thanks Pam/Philip/Rupert!

    Tim2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • I spent 2 days and it was super easy, Philip helped and answered all my questions. The place was perfect for me, next to the beach, close to a great yoga class and in a quiet neighbourhood. Great place to stay !

    Thomas2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was fantastic! Philip and Pam (and Rupert) made me and my brother feel right at home. They are very friendly and helped with orientating ourselves around the local area and pointed out some good sight seeing spots. The location is great; its very close to the sea, the zoo, a shopping centre and is well connected by buses. The room is very spacious and exactly what we needed. We had space for a few groceries in the kitchen and fridge, which was an added bonus. The coffee made fresh every morning was a great way to start the day. Five stars all round!

The Treat Street Clubhouse is a home you'll never forget. It's more than an Airbnb -- it's a collective of adventurers and unique individuals. We're creating a place that you can't wait to come back to. PS: if the dates you're looking for are unavailable or if you'd like to stay longer, shoot us a message with a little info about you! We save some beds for stragglers.
You'll have your own bunk bed in a shared room. This is a friendly atmosphere with many people and privacy will be a little sparse. With so many people, it may get rowdy at times.
We're in the best part of the Mission with a rock climbing gym, incredible food, and the best coffee, all under a 5 minute walk. We're happy to show you the best local hangouts, bars, etc.
  • Highly recomend. Good place, great innkeepers, fun crowd.

  • I loved staying here, very friendly, positive environment. Zain and Duncan are great hosts, they answered all my questions and gave me tons of suggestions about places and things to do in the city. I also loved the space in the house, it felt like a home w a big friendly family in it! The mission is a cool neighborhood with a lot of great murals, cafes, restaurants, and centrally located. This is a great place to stay for an excellent price!

    Cizan2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • The place was clean. Quick communication. Not a long drive from downtown. Just a few things were subpar. The water pressure in the shower was low and the bedding was ripped and stained. But overall good for the price.

  • Had a very good week long stay. The place was private and comfortable with a private entrance.

  • Herbert (Hub) was a wonderful host. Really communicative, flexible with our check in time, and had the room set up with all the amenities. The only thing that was a bit troublesome was that the internet connection would go out sometimes. Otherwise, a lovely room, great bathroom, and super affordable price with a great location and lots of on-street parking. Highly recommend!

    Karen2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Communication with Herbert was great. The place is convenient and instruction is clear.

    Terrence2016-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Herbert's room in San Fransisco is in a quiet residential neighborhood with parking relatively easy to find. It was a nice place to stay for a night or two, but was very basic (as advertised). WiFi and shower pressure left a little to be desired but on the whole, staying here was a very good experience and Herbert was helpful and attentive along the way.

    Meagan2018-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • It’s close to stuff to do. Parking at Herbert’s is all on the street. Secure and private area. The shower pressure isn’t great and the mattress was very firm and uncomfortable and new pillows would be nice. Herbert is extremely friendly and knows all the best places to go!

    Meghan2018-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • For our trip, it was absolutly usefull. Simple room, with air mattress and separate wc/douche. Herbert let us know all the needed information in front of our stay. Thank you Herbert for your hospitality

We had a lot of conversations and Will answered any questions before and during my stay, which made me feel very welcomed. He is literally a SUPER host! They let me use kitchen and washer and dryer, which was really helpful too. Thanks for everything. I will see you again.

We had a car, so I cannot comment on the use of public transport from Will's place, but we were never more than 20-30mins drive from all the spots we wanted to check out. Walking distance to many unique shops and restaurants. The village of Glen Park is a thriving neighborhood, with great neighborhood restaurants like NYTimes reviewed Gialina pizzeria, Manzoni (Italian), Le P'tit Laurent (French Bistro w/3 course neighborhood menu), La Corneta taqueria, Chenery Park fine dining, Higher Grounds creperie, and Tyger's neighborhood coffee shop. The Cheese Boutique, Destination Bakery, and Canyon Market have all your other food needs covered! Bird'n'Beckett bookstore carries new and used titles and has live jazz/folk on weekends. • My roommate and I stayed in Leslie and Gio's place for almost three months this summer. They are great hosts! The room is clean and cozy, neighborhood quiet and safe. The location is superb whether or not you have a car: 10 min walk to BART, 5 min drive to Safeway. I'd recommend it whether you are in SF for a short or long visit.

    Wendy Wenjie2015-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous, comfortable bedroom & bathroom in a great location. Admittedly, I didn't get to interact with Leslie & Gio much, since I was out and about most of the time I was in SF - but from the little interaction I had, they were very kind. To repeat what a couple of others have said, though, the baby noise was pretty intense (sustained high-pitched screaming) much of the time I was in the house. I totally get that that can be impossible to control, but it should definitely be mentioned in the listing. I recommend bringing earplugs or noise-canceling headphones to wear at night.

    Caitlin2016-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie + Gio are very nice and the room was very big, comfortable, with a private bathroom. The apartment is a bit out of the city center, but it was easy to go in by bus or Bart. Based on the price/quality ratio, I'd highly recommend for someone who is familiar with San Francisco and not looking to go to fisherman wharf, etc.

    Rahul2013-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie and Gio are really nice hosts! Their place is spacious and clean with your own private bath :) I had a great stay, thanks Leslie and Gio!

  • Great place to stay for a short or long visit to San Fran! Exceptionally clean and a very comfortable bed and great shower. Leslie and Gio was very easy to communicate with and check-in/check-out couldn't have been easier. That apartment was very quiet. Safe neighborhood with plenty of public transit options. The BART is a 10 mins walk which was super helpful when catching a flight. Thanks so much!

  • Angie was a great host and quick to respond to questions. The space was clean and having a stove/microwave in the unit was a bonus.

    Jodi2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Angie's place is everything that was described in the description and they were extremely fast on all communications front. Would stay at again!

    Ash2018-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • My best weekend in the Bay Area all started in Angie's place in Daly City. My friends and I had such a pleasant stay here. We would always come back from the city to take a break in the airbnb and felt like we were at home. Couldn't ask for a better place to stay.

    Gerardo2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy studio is comfortable, clean, easy to access, and has nice amenities provided. Angie and Jason were very friendly and communicative and have made the check-in process a smooth one. You will hear some noise from the house above, but they have kindly provided earplugs and I slept wonderfully in the very comfortable bed. A great stay!

    Kathryn2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Angie is great, super helpful and quick to respond. The place was as described. Great place if you need an affordable place to stay. Thanks Angie

    Manny2018-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and clean. Well-equipped and comfortable. Free parking was definitely a plus. The only downside was the neighbors who were being loud until 1-2 am. Other than that, great place to stay.

    Celile2018-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place close to everything we needed to be at!

    Kevian2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We choosen the Apartment of Angie and Jason for its immediate proximity to San Francisco. We arrived in the evening and tried to rest for the next day. We woke up in the middle of the night cause of the noise of our neighbours. It was like there is no wall between us and our neighbours. The next day we had other neighbours but the same problem. It was like being under a trotting track. Knocking was not successful. You will loose every sense of time because there is no window to the outside. Nethertheless the apartment is very clean and new. The parking situation at night is difficult. Angie and Jason were good hosts, easy to reach and helpful for personal questions. I would recommend this residence only for 1-2 nights.

The house is in a great part of San Francisco where the bars and restaurants have that local, non "tourist" vibe. The house is located on the corner across from a store and Muni transit (bus) stop. A $2.25 ride can take you to downtown SF. There is free, street parking (watch for street cleaning days on sign posts). The unit has been recently remodeled with a new kitchen and bathroom for your comfort and convenience. USB plugs on premise.
The House is within walking distance to Ocean Beach, SF zoo, and various spots in the neighborhood. There's a local dive bar two blocks away, pizza spot, coffee shop, breakfast dinners and a grow shop. Chinese take out is a phone call away and there's a few corner liquor stores. Muni is the name of our public transportation. The stop across the street can take you anywhere you need to go. There are apps that can help navigate as well.
Sunset district, San Francisco. If you are a surfer than this is a great place to find some waves and chill with the locals. Ocean beach, is huge and open everyday. Lots of iconic spots and legendary starts like the original burning man location.
  • Everything was lovely and clean and the owner of the apartment is responsive, but the voice of the metro is very, very annoying

    Saleh2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • good location in SF and close to public transportation.

    Zhe2018-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Was very convenient for our plans and a fun neighborhood. Easy to get on the Muni. Very close to the ocean.

    Nancy2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great trip the b&b was clean and close too many Chinese restaurants. David is a nice guy. He gave us a lot of good advises . We really appreciate that.

    Xinge2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • David was very attentive and helpful throughout our stay. He was very prompt in responding to our requests. The location was nice if you want to be close to the beach and a short 10 minute drive to Golden Gate Park. The flat was very clean and in order. However, if you're a light sleeper this is not the ideal location. The Muni passes directly in front of the property and it can get a bit loud. On the bright side, the Muni is a great alternative for transportation downtown where parking can get pretty pricey ($25+).

    Hope2016-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place has all the basic essentials one needs. Great place to stay. The blessing and curse is the light rail/train right in front of the house. Quick access to all things in SF but it might wake you up as early as 5am or so. Overall Great! I would totally use this place again. Great rates, comfy bed, spacious shower, etc. David is a very nice guy. For us hot folk I would recommend maybe putting a fan, ceiling or portable is fine. A++++

    Alan2016-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place. Location was great. Would definitely stay here again. Host was very helpful

    Miguel2016-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and modernly designed flat. Cant complain on anything except the train can get very noisy (and it creates an earthquake) at time. We spent some time adapting to the condition. Other than that, decent place to stay, great kitchen with everything.

    Blanka2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very basic. Be aware of cleaning fee as this adds a lot if only staying one night. Good location in what appears to be a safe area. Good access to bus, Uber and Lyft when needed. Alice was cordial and non-intrusive as I rarely saw her. A good host who was responsive to all questions etc.

  • We loved staying at Suren's sweet cozy in-law unit. It's on a safe quiet street, and the room was clean and well decorated. She was an awesome host, leaving us fresh food items (including home made muffins) and Mother's Day card with tulips one day! Bed was comfortable, and we had a good night sleep after the busy days. I highly recommend this sweet home and will definitely return!

    Jennifer2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Suren’s place was very pleasant. Suren was very kind and responded quickly to my messages. Very warm welcoming basket which we loved. The place was impeccable clean, the beds were very comfortable with more than one pillow for guests. There’s no kitchen “per se” but a very complete kitchenette. The refrigerator and cabinets were full of groceries and anything needed to cook. I highly recommend this place and if I return to the area I will definitely stay there again. Thank you very much for your kindness and hospitality, Suren.

Within walking distance of Mills College, The Sanctuary is a private, welcoming, clean and comfortable room in our home, with free parking. We offer an affordable haven on a safe, tree-lined street in a multi-cultural middle-class Oakland neighborhood, and within proximity of major transportation lines. Our family home is full of ...well...family life, with an athletic teen and working parents. If you are comfortable with a diverse, multi-cultural community this is your place!
The quiet, very private room is downstairs, and features a plush double bed, a beautiful large, empty desk, a clothing rack and shelf unit for storage in a roomy, light-filled house. The room is set off from the rest of the house, and is adjacent to a full bathroom, painted a beautiful cherry red, with a shower/bathtub, shared with our 22 year-old son, who is clean, polite, and often out and about. The room has big windows to let in light, and is at back of house opening onto a patio, providing a back entrance to the house for complete privacy of entry and exit. A great space for a traveler, whether weekday business person, or weekend visitors, perfect for short stays especially. Our guests have loved this room! AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT OUR LOCATION: We are located on a very safe street, in a nice family oriented surrounding neighborhood, with friendly neighbors, however it is not in an up-scale part of Oakland. To the east of our immediate neighborhood is a lower-income area. If you are looking for an up-scale neighborhood with cafes and shopping etc within walking distance, this might not be satisfactory for you. However, it's very easy and quick to go to a nearby area for good coffee, and public transportation is plentiful and close at hand. We tend to use services such as Lyft to get around, especially later at night. We feel completely safe to walk the dog at all hours, and we've never had any issues. But it's a question of your personal comfort level with being in the mix of cultures, communities and levels of wealth. We welcome people of all cultures, races, religions and ethnicity, country of origin and gender identity.
We love our street. Sweet neighbors who talk to each other. If you love connecting to diverse communities we are within walking distance of Mills College, and just down the road from Lakeshore Ave, area and the lively, downtown - uptown arts and food scene. Add to that very easy, accessible public transportation to San Francisco and beyond, make this a fantastic place to launch your weekend or work-week.
  • Allison and Amy are both awesome and very accomodating. They made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived and I would be more than happy tonstay with them again. Great hostesses!

  • The place is located in a safe neighborhood with plenty of parking space. I was able to park my car at the closes possible location that wasn't the driveway. The bedroom is a good size and equipped with a comfortable bed. The place is clean and homey. Would definitely stay here again.

    Diego2018-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the place is quite convenient but it is quite creepy at night. Their pets are super friendly to the guests but they were kind of smelly during our stay. As for the bed, it is very uncomfortable for me and my partner to sleep on and both of us got body ache after our stay. The towel is not really hygiene as my partner got itchy skin after using the towels (he doesn't has any allergy to any food). And the room is quite noisy especially the toilet is seprate from the room with a very thin board kind of thing. We also smell some weird smoke smell (not like cigar smell tho) from outside our room. Overall the host is super friendly but the room condition is not what you expected

    Hui Qian2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • -getting in and out of the house at late hours wasn't a problem for us. - washroom and room were clean. - laundry room were accessible everytime. - nice friendly dog. - general communication with the host was very good and they were very welcoming. Only downside was that the common area was a little messy but it didn't bother us a lot.

This property is the perfect get away especially if you plan to visit San Francisco and you want to avoid being in heavy traffic all day. It takes approximately 15 minutes if your driving in mild traffic and about 20 minutes on public transportation. You can also catch an Uber or Lyft.
Diverse neighborhood with access to public transportation. 5 minutes away from the coliseum. And not far from shopping centers and shops and only 8 minutes away from downtown Oakland and Jack London Square.
  • We had a very good time at Abdullahs Lounge. The place is spacious and clean and he provided extra toiletries which was very nice. The beds are very comfortable however the window screens had holes in them that's why we kept the windows locked. We ended up ubering since the BART station was further away than we expected. Definitely a good place to stay with a bigger group.

This is a cozy private room w/ a full bed (and optional twin air mattress upon request) and flat screen TV w/ free Netflix. You get to use kitchen during your stay (fridge, microwave, stove/oven, dishes, coffee, etc.) and 2 bathrooms (kitchen & bathrooms shared w/ other guests). You'll have free/easy street parking, be a quick 14 min drive from SFO, 3 min walk to T train (which takes you downtown and AT&T Park), and a 13 min drive to downtown and AT&T Park. You'll be in the heart of it all! :)
Please note that while your rooms are 100% private with a lock on it that only you will have, you will be sharing the kitchen and two bathrooms with three other Airbnb rooms. This is part of the fun though as you can meet different people from around the world who are staying here with you. Access to the kitchen and bathrooms is usually fine as most people spend the majority of their time out and about in the city, but sometimes during peak travel times you may feel the house being a little more full. So to be very clear, you will see several other Airbnb guests in the home who are living close to you (the nature of such a dense city as San Francisco) and sharing the kitchen and bathrooms, but as you can see in the reviews that my guests have loved their time here as people are usually very friendly and respectful.
  • This place was perfect for what my partner and I needed! We had privacy, the location was great and it was very clean. We loved it!

    Kaitlyn2018-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Two bathrooms are great when there are multiple guests, I always found one that was available. Sean was very responsive and fast to act when I asked for a new towel an shampoo. I also appreciated the late check-in

    Sarjoun2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sean was a great host. First host that actively checked in with me during my stay, which was much appreciated! The neighborhood is a bit off the beaten path, but that was a total feature for me. Lots of metro that goes directly to downtown, and easy access to Lyft/Uber (of course). Cool local shops that I loved (e.g. Roadhouse Coffee Shop - amazing pastries; Red House Bakery for great Chinese bakery). The room had everything that I needed, and I loved the skylight. The deck was great when the weather was nice, and there are two bathrooms so that access was pretty reasonable. Overall, I had a really nice stay and appreciated the attentiveness and responsiveness!

    Ben2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sean & Selah are such amazing hosts! Their home is very nice, the room itself was very clean, & the amenities were just what we needed. They both made sure we enjoyed our stay (which we did), & I would definitely recommend their place to others!

    Vanessa2018-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Not that happy with this one.. First of all, from the description and pictures the neighborhood seemed quite nice but when we arrived we were a bit shocked. It was a really shady neighborhood especially at night and then we looked it up on the internet - we read that Bayview is one of the most violent neighborhoods in SFO. The next day we wanted to go to Bayview Park but there junkies hanging around the playground. One Uber driver told us he lives in the area and that this is a rough neighborhood. As for the apartment, it was very clean and there was everything we needed. Unfortunately, the room had no window except for the one on the ceiling. The communication was good, fast replies. But we didn’t get to meet you so there was no host present at all times. We wished there was someone there - it was too anonymous.

    Aaron2018-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • It was our first time using Airbnb and I'm glad I did. Sean was very involved and helpful even before we got to the home. We had everything we needed, restrooms were clean and price was good. He was very attentive and we appreciate it that a lot. I liked how we had the train less than two blocks away, the cost is $2.75 and it took us all the way to el Barcadero. Fisherman's wharf was at walking distance and also pier 39. You can find the main stop for the cable cars which is also at a walking distance. It was really convenient. On our way back we used lyft and it was definitely worth it since we didn't have to leave earlier and we enjoyed more around the city. Thank you Sean

    Kattya2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Spent two nights here and it was very nice experience, house is clean and price is good

    Hang2017-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay at Sean's home. Everything was as described and very clean. Sean communicated with me throughout the whole stay and made accomdations to allow me to check in at an odd time. The neighborhood was not the best looking, but I would still rate location at 5 stars as the house was extremely secure and safe, also 20 min from the airport which was a big plus.

Don't find just any room; book one in the heart of SF that you'll enjoy! Your room has three full beds (each with memory foam mattresses), a futon couch, space heater and fan, & large flat screen TV w/ free Netflix. You have total usage of the kitchen (fridge, stove, oven, microwave, etc.) and two full bathrooms (shared w/ other guests). You'll have free/easy street parking, be a quick 14 min drive from SFO & downtown, 3 min walk to T train (which goes directly downtown).

Your large room is a converted living room, so it has a lot of space! As mentioned earlier, all of the full beds have a memory foam mattress on it to make your stay very comfortable. You also have a space heater in your room so that you can control your temperature.
Your stay will be in the Bayview District. It's a historic community with a lot of amazing character and people. You can look up more info online if you'd like to learn more.

  • Sean is the nicest guy :) always there when we needed anything, the room was spacious, I believe it can hold up to 6 people if both the sofas are turn into beds, and Netflix is a big plus too. The bathroom is also very clean and beautiful just as in the pictures. Parking was also a breeze compare to other area in central SF, because there aren't any time limit and the area seem to be pretty safe. We would definitely stay at Sean's again next time we're in SF :)

This was the first time I have taken my daughter's with me Sean's and his family where the best place in the city. We felt just like we were at home grocery store just down the street. Public transportation just down the street many small stores around. There is parking on the street I came and went always found a parking. It is kind of industrious but the a few minutes from Union Square. It's also just off the freeway which is great and minutes from the airport. I absolutely loved his place making plans to book again soon really great place thanks Sean.

Full 1-bedroom apartment in the sunniest neighborhood in San Francisco. This spacious unit includes kitchenette, living room, bedroom & full bath. The unit opens onto a sunny backyard with BBQ and seating. The unit is located at the back of the house, providing a quiet private space day and night. Large park/playground one block away. Flatscreen TV with Netflix/HBO. Conveniently located 20-minutes from downtown, Mission, Dogpatch, AT&T Park & SFO. Free street parking on the block.
The Bayview is a sunny and up-and-coming (transitional/not fully gentrified) neighborhood that is primarily residential (families with kids). It is only a 20 minute drive to most tourist attractions or a 40 minute direct MUNI (light rail) ride to downtown. Winner of the 2015 SF Curbed Best Neighborhood Award which commended Bayview for its community gardens and growing arts/food/beverage scene. *MULTI-CULTURAL AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC DIVERSITY* Bayview is uniquely diverse in that it is both a multi-cultural and a socio-economically blended area. This is truly one of the only areas in the city where you will find African-American, Latino, Asian, and white families of all different economic classes living next door to each other. Because the neighborhood also has a large immigrant population, you will hear people talking to one another in Spanish, Chinese, and other languages. Neighbors are friendly with one another, so don't be surprised if people wave or say hello or hola. If you are uncomfortable being in a neighborhood that is extremely diverse, the Bayview is not for you. *TRANSITIONAL NEIGHBORHOOD* Known in the past as a rough neighborhood, Bayview has been changing rapidly and is now considered a neighborhood on the rise. With more and more young professionals moving into the area, the Bayview is now the home of an artisanal bakery, a hipster cafe, and a pizza place that has a seasonal, organic menu. However, unlike the gentrified areas of the Mission, Noe Valley, or Russian Hill, you will not (yet) find a trendy coffee shop and posh shop on every corner. If you're looking for a gentrified or traditional touristy neighborhood, another area will be a better fit. What you will find in the Bayview, though, is a very authentic neighborhood that is affordable, quiet, and wonderfully close to the Bay.
  • Great place. It was modern and beautiful. The place was quiet. Scott was a great host. Very accomodating. We would definitely stay again.

    Margarita2018-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Scott and Jennifer were wonderful hosts! Their place is cozy and very private, despite being below them. I read a few reviews about the neighborhood being sketchy, but I myself didn’t find any problems or feel unsafe at any time. I’d be happy to stay here anytime I’m visiting SF. Well worth the price!

    David2017-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing time at Scott’s place. Situated in a unique and diverse neighborhood, it’s far enough from the city for some peace and quiet but close enough that everything is a quick Uber or public transit trip away. Scott also provided some great recommendations for local restaurants and coffee shops that we would have never visited otherwise. Overall, had a great time and would recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a Bay Area vacation.

  • Their place was so nice. Trendy interior and the neighborhood was so quiet. It was easy to contact hosts since their responses were so quick! Getting in and out of their place wasn't much trouble too! They have also provided with many conveient amenities such as towels, hair dryer, shampoo, water and etc. Thank you guys so much for making my mom and auntie's stay in the city so convenient.

  • Cozy apartment with everything you need for a stay in San Francisco. Super comfortable bed from which you do not want to get up.

    Martin2018-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I loved getting very specific instructions on how to get the keys and which door to go into and all of that. My hosts were superb in getting back answers to me. The bed is absolutely wonderful as is their induction stove top if you need to cook a little bit. I needed to be in Hunter's Point so the location was perfect for me.

  • The hostel is very nice and in a very good (and safe) location. I found it extremely clean and the staff is very friendly (really really nice people, you'll feel welcome from the first moment you step in!). The only con is probably that the rooms in one floor are all "connected" that means that if anyone makes noise in any of the rooms you are likely to hear that, so not good for light sleepers (but probably like any other hostel). Having said that, the hostel staff is quite strict with having a silent night late at night, so it's still ok. I would strongly recommend to stay there and I'd be happy to go back there in case I go back to San Francisco!

    Lynn2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time staying in a hostel and I was blown away by the community. The staff is freaking hilarious, intelligent, and all around kind people. They're willing to go to far lengths to help you have the best time possible and treat you like friends instead of guests. Courtney, Ryan, Henry, Louis, Ashley: you all are amazing, talented people — thanks for taking me in like a family and having my first hostel experience be a great one. You guys all rock!

    Andy2012-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • They were very accommodating. I didn't spend too much time at the hostel as I was only there for 3 days and 2 nights. I mainly just used it to sleep, change, wash up as I explored San Francisco. It is nice that they do have daily activities for guests on downtime (they're staffed until midnight). I briefly came by and the staff and guests were cooking. Unfortunately on my part I had an earlier commitment and I couldn't stick around to chat. But the community is nice. I had trouble finding the place when I first got there but it is surprisingly clean and organized. The place is cleaned regularly daily and staff is super nice. I would definitely stay here again.

  • I had a pleasant stay at Darren & Friends 4. I found the host and the employees to be welcoming and helpful with whatever questions travelers might have of the city. During my stay, I encountered guests from all over the world which made my experience more diverse and interesting. The hostel location is very convenient. I would highly recommend staying at Darren & Friend Overby!

Fruitvale is a vibrant, multicultural, urban, commercial district in Oakland. Our home + guest suite are located just off of the main street on a small block where many residents have lived for 30+ years. We are very close to the BART station and have a walk score of 95. There are restaurants, a gas station, grocery stores, and laundry just around the corner. Nyum Bai, one of the best new restaurants in the nation according to Bon Appetit, is a 5 minute walk from our place. We are a short drive to the Oakland hills and the Alameda estuary and shoreline. Because we live in an urban setting, our neighborhood can seem gritty to some people. If you're looking for a more suburban experience, our neighborhood may not be for you. Fruitvale is home to people from all backgrounds - artists, working families, older long-time residents, and people who have migrated this way from San Francisco, other areas of Oakland, and Berkeley due to rising rents. You will see graffiti and some litter on the ground and you will also see families out shopping together, neighbors walking their dogs, commuters walking to and from BART in the morning and evening, and people tending to their flower gardens on our sweet, short block. And you'll be within walking distance to the best tacos and pupusas you'll ever eat.
  • Great use of space and the place was sparkling clean. Shannon has everything you would need here including hair dryer, fridge, cofee and extra hand towels. The bed was very comfortable. The neighborhood had a few markets to visit and a good restaurant called La Mexicana. We had no trouble finding street parking. Shannon had an excellent response time and provided suggestions on to things to do.

  • This is a great stay! If you are looking into this area I highly recommend staying with Shannon! The place was incredibly clean and stylish. I had no trouble whatsoever communicating or finding what I needed. Check-in was easy and we felt just at home while we were there. Thank you Shannon!

  • We were slightly skeptical of staying outside of the city itself, with only 2 days to explore San Fran, but we were so glad we stayed in Oakland and, in particular, at this place. It's incredibly convenient to get in to San Francisco, but also a great little area in its own (Website hidden by Airbnb) feels like a more genuine neighborhood than others we walked around within the city and as such has its own charm with some great restaurants and bars - try the local micro brewery and the Mexican food truck just down the road from it! Shannon was a great host, fantastic communication and very accommodating, with some brilliant local guidance too. The room was spotless and perfectly comfortable. Couldn't recommend more highly!

    Nick2018-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice inside and had everything from cute little wine bottles to even a white out pen. Super thoughtful hosts that give you a huge list of recommendations that helped a lot and was a great overall stay!

  • Shannon’s place is just what you need if you want a place to crash when you are visiting the Bay Area. Bed is fantastic, shower and other amenaties very good. Neighbourhood is authentic, but we felt very safe. Shannon’s suggestions for restaurants were spot on. A 15 minute BART-commute and you are at Embarcadero. Could not wish for more! Thank you, Shannon & Tim!

  • Jimmy is a nice host, the location isn't too bad. The cleanliness isn't good and the hot water in rest room didn't work well.

    Jj2015-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jimmy is a very nice host and has a good place next to the city.

    Raffaele2015-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • You do not need nothing else besides comfortable bed and hot water if you are in tight and packed travelling schedule. Jimmy's private bed room provided those, but with additional perks: amazing ocean view and good wifi connection. On top of that, Jimmy is also a responsive host! I certainly recommend Jimmy's if you need a quick stop to rest from your busy trip in SF.
