  • This place was outstanding, and amazing hospitality during our stay there!

  • We stayed at the cabin for two nights , it’s a lovely clean comfortable space. Unfortunately we didn’t get chance to use the hot tub due to the weather but think a privacy screen/fence would be useful had we used it though as the main houses window do look over the cabin. The village and area are lovely, welcoming and well worth exploring! We visited a number of local pubs for food and drinks and were pleasantly surprised by them all would definitely visit again!

    Kelly2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, homely and takes you back to nature cabin! The little valentines touch were completely unexpected and delightful! The quality of the bedding, towels and amenities were as good if not better than any good hotel. Even though storm Dennis had different ideas to what we had for the weekend, a great stay!

    Rebekah2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely remote location in a friendly village. The cabin is very clean and very stylish. A perfect couples retreat.

    Katharine2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect little cabin for a weekend’s stay, lovely little extras provided including some lovely bath robes, milk and coffee (and bubbly!) waiting for us upon arrival. We got good use out of the hot tub - and really enjoyed the peaceful setting in a beautiful part of Devon. Would recommend!

    Rachel2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Warm and cosy, sparkly clean and comfortable, Jo and Gary made us so welcome in their fabulous place, just perfect for a weekend away. Many personal touches made a weekend away extra special. Wonderful, thank you Jo and Gary. 🥰

  • We loved the Cosy Cabin, it was perfect for our time away and the village was in an ideal location! The cabin was spotless and as the name stated, lovely and cosy for the evening time, the cabin has everything you will need for a few days. The local pub a short walk away is very friendly, where we enjoyed a few drinks however would have definitely eaten there! We would highly recommend the Cosy Cabin to anyone wanting to visit the area.

    Mike2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to escape it all then this is the place for you! Very clean and tidy with lots of thoughtful extra touches from the hosts. The cabin was nice and cosy and quiet which is exactly what we were looking for. Whilst the cabin is in close proximity to the hosts own home (in their garden) this does not impact on the cabin and it feels very private. Wonderful hosts and would highly recommend.

  • Katy’s place was perfect for a girly weekend away. We spent the majority of the time in the hot tub which was perfect. The pub down the road, Church House Inn was also great - fantastic food, friendly owner & locals who entertained us all evening!

    Georgie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely space, great kitchen and beautiful bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Would definitely return! Free eggs from the chickens on the farm. Perfect for poaching

  • Fantastic little getaway with an amazing hot tub!

    Ruth2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • I booked Katy’s place as a surprise for my sister and her boyfriend and it definitely lived up to expectations! The cottage was extremely clean and a perfect set up for their little weekend away. They certainly made use of the hot tub and said Katy was super friendly and they loved meeting the dog too! They had a lovely walk in South Milton and thoroughly enjoyed their stay. Would definitely recommend and return. Thank you!

  • We had a fantastic stay and couldn't have asked for more! The house had everything we needed for eating, drinking and cooking and stayed really warm the whole time. The hot tub was perfect and made the stay extra special. Information of local things to do and shops close by was really helpful too - thank you for such a great experience!

    Rachel2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here for 2 nights with my partner and we couldn’t fault a thing. We were greeted on arrival and given tips on the best places to visit in the area, they were very friendly and welcoming. Easy to contact also, they even politely gave us some foil that we’d forgot to buy from the shop! (It’s only a 10/15 minute drive to Tesco.) The fire and the heated floor boards made everything so warm and cosy, just wish we’d booked even longer. Thanks again for such great hospitality!

    Helen2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • A peaceful and restful retreat. The local eggs available from the farm made for a tasty breakfast. Katy had left out several informative local brochures for us to taylor our stay at The Dairy, which were extremely helpful. Ending the day relaxing in the hot tub ! We would definitely stay again with Katy.

Now with private hot tub adjacent to The Hut, offering a perfect place to enjoy sunsets or starry skies. The Hut is ideally situated in South Devon and offers a peaceful rural retreat with close proximity to many Devon beaches and towns.
Uniquely situated to visit all the South Hams beaches, towns and villages, private and secluded but not remote. A 10 minute walk from The Hut up the lane will take you to the main road where you can catch a direct bus to Dartmouth along the stunning coast line passing through Slapton, Strete, Stoke Fleming and Blackpool Sands. At the top of this lane also is the Church House inn – a 13th century former monks’ house with a great selection of food and wines. Ample parking [a short walk along a path] is provided as is a useful storage shed next to The Hut to maximise your space inside. The Hut now has it's own hot tub, which is perfectly situated to enjoy a tipple whilst enjoying spectacular views across open countryside to Dartmoor. As well as the hot tub, outside The Hut is plenty of space to unwind with lounger chairs, picnic table and chimenea. There is ample room to pitch a tent for additional guests by [small extra cost by arrangement] but please note there are no other toilet or shower facilities available.
This is a beautiful place to live, a gem we found a few years ago and have gradually been transforming into our forever home. We love the combination of privacy with rural living and proximity to the wonderful South Hams places, events and culture. Waking up to gorgeous views, listening to the birds and countryside noises is bliss.
  • What a fantastic place to stay this was. Lovely little remote location with all the amenities required to enjoy your stay. Hosts are fantastic. Couldn't recommend enough and even thinking about booking again for next year.

    Ricky2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really lovely weekend away here, Alasdair was there to greet us on arrival and show us around the shepherd’s hut. We had a lovely meal at the Church House Inn which was 15 minutes’ walk away with a great atmosphere. The hot tub was the real highlight and really made our trip! We also visited Thurleston Sands which was a great beach nearby and Kingsbridge which was a lovely little town. The Shepherd’s Hut was fantastic and we would definitely stay here again.

    Faye2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic Shepard’s hut with everything you need! Small, Warm and cosy. A stunning peaceful location, outstanding area just 15 minutes to the coast. Siobahn & Alistair were excellent hosts, seeing them at the local pub and even gave us a lift to the bus stop! Loved the Hot Tub.

    Pete2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Siobahn’s place is in a great location with real privacy. The hut itself is clean and well equipped with everything you could need. The hot tub is to a good standard and has a nice outlook over the neighbouring fields and rolling hills.

    Rebecca2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place for a relaxing couple of days. Not a bad word to say... we'll be back 😊

    Hannah2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most wonderful stay here and I would recommend it to anyone (in fact I will be!). Alistair and Siobahn are such lovely hosts, they really go above and beyond and are so easily contacted when/if needed. The place itself is so cute and has everything you need plus a hot tub!! We came for a long weekend for my boyfriends birthday and it’s a perfect base to explore the local area - it’s only a £20 taxi home from Salcombe if you fancy a few bevs. The pub that’s a ten minute walk is lovely too with great food and friendly staff. Thank you so so much, we loved it ❤️

    Megan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Siobahn’s. The hut was warm, cosy and spacious with everything we needed. The hot tub was a highlight and the views of the fields were amazing. For a breath of fresh air and some down time it was the perfect place for us!

  • The location is fantastic, local beaches nearby recommended by Katy were lovely. Great space, underfloor heating was a welcome addition and the hot tub and balcony area was beautiful to sit and watch the stars. Very clean, would definitely visit again!

  • I had a great time at Katy's farm house, it was clean spacious and cosy. The hot tub was fantastic and we really enjoyed seeing the animals. We watched some or the classic DVDs provided and had a much needed chilled few days.

    Antonia2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely break at the hayloft, relaxing, quiet environment perfect for escaping the real world! Added bonus was the hot tub!

    Jodie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The best part of the trip was waking up to horses outside your bedroom window, plus a couple of ducks and the odd cockerel. Cannot recommend enough!

    Charlie2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Hayloft is a lovely space and we had a lovely weekend. Hoping to be back soon

    Tracy2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing weekend stay here! If you need to leave the house you will probably need to drive as the country lanes are very narrow. Hot tub was so relaxing and the hayloft was really homely. Friendly horses next door. Bring milk if you want a cuppa. Would definitely recommend to a friend! Thank you Katy so responding via message to us and making everything so easy!

    Georgia2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Pretty scenery, lovely hot tub, and friendly and helpful host - Thank You!!

    Brandon2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great 2 night stay at Katy’s place, location is fab if you want something out of the way in the middle of nowhere. The air bnb itself is next to the main house but very private. The hot tub and terrace outside are not overlooked so it felt like we were completely on our own which was lovely. The pictures don't do it justice as there was a lot more space than we were expecting, and the house was super clean and modern. Just a tip if you're a light sleeper you may be woken by the roosters but in general we couldn't hear a thing it was so quiet around. Overall would be very happy to stay again!

This beautiful yurt boasts stunning views over the rolling hills of the South Hams Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with Dartmoor National Park in the distance. This charming space, with double bed, wood burner, solar electricity and indoor kitchen has all you need for a basic yet cosy countryside break. Sleeps 2 comfortably (max 4). For Hot Tub information including price, please see "Other things to note" below. Seen our other listing? airbnb.co.uk/rooms/21144416?s=51
This space is "off-grid". It has a wood burner, solar electricity (240v) and it is beautiful, peaceful and cosy. Drinking water is pumped by hand from our borehole and rainwater harvested for washing up. Full containers are supplied. Bed linen, hand towels, basic kitchen facilities and washing bowl and jug are supplied. A basket load of fuel for the burner is included, further wood can be bought (£10 per wheelbarrow full). Outside there is a charcoal BBQ, a "bucket and winch" shower cubicle, and in the next field are compost toilets (these facilities are shared). A Wood Fired Hot Tub is available on request. (See "Other things to note" below). This is our off-grid lifestyle – simple, satisfying and easy on the earth…
Your accommodation is situated at Landmatters eco-community yet sufficiently removed from other dwellings to allow for peace and privacy. Please respect our neighbours space and their peace and quiet. When driving off site we ask that you turn left out of the gate so as to avoid driving through the hamlet of Allaleigh. If walking the land, make sure you know where the boundaries are and please leave no litter.
  • A superb stay...! It really was magical and the wood burning hot tub down by the river was amazing!! Great spot for being completely away from the mad daily rush!! Highly recommend!

    Nathan2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Marens Yurt is absolutely fantastic. The pictures are lovely but they really don't do it justice, it is so much cosier and beautiful in reality and it really felt like home while we were there. There is everything you need to cook a great meal and settle in for the evening by the wood burner with a glass of wine and fairy lights. We loved exploring the Land Matters site and meeting some of the lovely people who live there. Everyone was so warm and welcoming, in particular, Maren our host. We would definately recommend a stay at the yurt and hope to come back. Thank you Maren :)

    May2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The is a beautiful hidden gem! Wish we had longer there! The fire was lit when we arrived! Was like a home away from home with amazing views! We will definitely be back soon

    Sarah2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • A magical place to stay surrounded by nature. Maren and Brains were both lovely hosts, offering us craft tools and touring us round the wonderful LandMatters site! The Yurt is gorgeous and has everything you need as long as you enjoy an outdoorsey holiday :D

    Isobel2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • It was a magical weekend, our hosts were wonderful, very thoughtful and considerate. They had thought of everything you would need when staying in a yurt. They even offered extra blankets and slower burning wood as they knew a heavy frost was on it’s way. We felt very privileged when we were given a tour of Landmatters site, which is such exciting Permaculture project. We loved the adventure of wandering through the woods down to the hot tub under the winter star lit sky then snuggling up in front of a toasty stove with hot chocolate afterwards was bliss. It was a joy to experience a couple of days away from the pace and demands of modern living and to bathe in the luxury of earthly living and be surrounded in the healing energy of nature.

    Elizabeth2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely space! Very clean as well! This is a really unique stay and such a lovely, intimate and cosy place for couples! The burner had been started for our arrival so it was wonderfully warm inside - a lovely touch! We would love to come and stay again!

A luxurious, rustic haven away from it all. The luxury bits: French linen bedding, robes, soft towels & toiletries, woodburner, a good book, no street lights...You'll probably sleep better than you have in years. The rustic bits: There's a simple compost toilet, hot water in a generous sink and flannels, but no shower.
Our guests often say their stay in the cabin felt like a little pause from the real world. A moment to recharge. We've left it as simple as we can, without foregoing any of the little things that make relaxing time out peaceful and happy. The kitchen is properly equipped, including a fridge and little Belling oven, there's fresh ground coffee, tea, herbs teas, sugar, and a selection of board games, books, and off-the-beaten-track magazines. But our wifi doesn't reach the cabin, and we've not made any attempts to change that. If you do need access to the internet, you are welcome to pop into our house and connect to our network, but we also suspect that you'll be quite glad of the excuse to ignore your emails for a brief moment.
Landscove is a pretty and highly sought-after village in the South Hams. A village hall, a fantastic gastro pub, primary school and church are about the only things that interrupt the organically-farmed fields and Devon lanes, and with no street lights in the area the nights are blissful, and the stars shine bright.
  • A lovely escape from every-day modern life. Clean, bright space with a cosy log burner and amazing local pub. Recommend and would happily stay again.

Cosy and spacious rustic cabin conveniently located midway between the stunning beaches on the South Devon Coast and lovely walks on Dartmoor National Park to the north. Set in the gorgeously lush South Devon countryside and great for couples and young families who want to get away from it all and for solo adventurers, walkers and business travellers. Private and tucked away, surrounded by 60 acres yet close to the village with its lovely pub.
The Cabin is recently converted, tastefully decorated, self contained and private. It is approached via a stone track and is detached and cosy with central heating and a basic open plan kitchen with counter top belling style cooker, microwave, fridge, sink and dishwasher. The sitting room has a small table and chairs, sofa, a full drum kit for a little excitement and a pretty storage cupboard. There is a gas bbq and a small private garden with table and chairs and plenty of off road parking with little touches that make your stay comfortable. The double bed has a quality comfortable mattress, cotton sheets and fluffy towels and an en-suite shower room. On arrival we will give you a cake to go with your tea and coffee and breakfast, jam and butter, milk, fresh eggs (usually from our chickens) and flowers.
This is a wonderful unspoilt area of the South Hams yet we are not far Avonwick Village and close to some wonderful beaches in Salcombe and at Mothercombe. There is surfing at Bantham beach and we are a short drive to Dartmoor with its spectacular scenery and walks. Avonwick itself is a lovely village with its pub and small garage, not to mention some other excellent pubs in the area with great food including the Turtley Cornmill, The Anchor and The Ship at Ugborough and to name but a few. Totnes, Kingsbridge, Dartmouth, Salcombe and Exeter and Plymouth are all fairly close thanks to a good road network and the A38 Expressway.
  • Stunning little cabin with lovely views. Well equipped and quaint with extra facilities that weren’t expected, ie heated mattress and drum kit. Would not hesitate to stay here again; Rupert & Lisa thank you for having us!

    Charlie2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely cabin, we ‘hid out’ here during storm Dennis which just made it even more cosy! Lovely attentive hosts who provide all the little extras you might need. Highly recommend to anyone. Thanks again xx

    Sophia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Rupert’s place is simple, honest and perfect. The feeling of isolation is wonderful. Being close to Dartmoor and the coast it’s the perfect place for exploring. I would advise you not to stay here if you want to cook 3 course meals and watch tv all day. This isn’t that place. Think of Rupert’s place as a cosy, welcoming base-camp for your adventures. Rupert is a genuine host - relaxed, helpful, knowledgable, there if you need him and not there if you don’t. We were in the cabin during Storm Ciara which was great fun. Rupert messaged us a couple of times to make sure we were ok. When our car decided to break down it was no trouble at all for us to stay past our check out time until rescue arrived. I thoroughly recommend Rupert’s place!

    John2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful little cabin that was actually not too difficult to find. The communication was easy and we found everything we need, along with a lovely little homemade cake, and fresh ingredients for breakfast. Would definitely come back and highly recommend! Thank you Rupert and Lisa!

  • My boyfriend and I absolutely loved The Cabin. We have never stayed in anything like it before but we will 100% be coming back! The decor inside was so homely and we loved the little touches such as the cake and hamper with bread, eggs, butter and jam inside along with fresh milk and juice. The bedroom was really cosy, with a lovely en-suite. As we got in late, Rupert left the lights on for us which was very kind of him. He was quick to reply if I ever contacted him and even popped up to say hello and to tell us where to go in the local area which was lovely, especially to hear about the history of The Cabin. As this was my first time using Airbnb I was a little anxious about what it would be like in comparison to reviews, pictures etc but it did not disappoint. If anything, the pictures did not do the cabin justice. My boyfriend and I have already said that we have no doubts that we will be coming back. We cannot thank Rupert and Lisa (who unfortunately we did not meet) enough for everything and are already looking forward to our next stay.

  • Lovely place to stay! great communication snd wonderful host.

    Glen2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Rupert's communication was great. Information pre arrival was detailed & helpful in terms of directions etc. & then a text to let us know that he'd put the lights on as it was getting dark. This made the cabin feel even more welcoming & homely. The cake & breakfast provisions were very welcome too. We didnt get round to trying the drums but a detached cabin is the ideal location for the set I'm sure. The bedroom was really cosy . A really private space with everythng we could have needed for our 1 night - wish it could have been longer.

    Louise2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cabin, slightly quirky with the drum kit and dolls house which we loved! Nice touch to provide the milk, juice, bread, eggs and delicious cake. Recommended!

  • We really loved our long weekend at Dove Cottage! The space is so cosy and the shower is a dream. The village is very sweet - no shops so pick up food in totnes, it’s only about 10 mins drive away - and is the perfect location to explore the Devon countryside from.

  • Fantastic, beautiful presented cottage in lovely little vintage 5 minutes from totness. Graceful hosts , who have thought of every convenience. 700 year old pub around the corner is a timeless inn with great food & vib !! We are visiting from Australia & will stay here again!! Cheers

  • This is just the most gorgeous place and we were desperately sad to leave! The cottage is designed so beautifully with every object carefully collected to make a simple, elegant and cosy space. Hannah and Paul were great hosts, apologising at the end for the terrible weather (a storm hit when we were there!) In fact, we were grateful for the storm as it completely justified us staying in, lighting the fire reading and playing games in our super cosy cottage. We wouldn’t have had it any other way! Bliss! Hope to be back again!

    Phil And Lucy2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely perfect cottage, we had a dreamy time. The cottage has everything you could need and more, and is in a great spot to reach all the best spots in South Devon! Definitely hope to go back soon x

  • Dove Cottage is a very cosy and comfortable place to stay. The decor is stylish and feels very relaxing with interesting features such as atmospheric lighting, contemporary furnishing mixed with some vintage ornaments. The cottage is particularly lovely and cosy when the log burner is lit. The throws and sheepskins also add a touch of luxury. The kitchen is very well equipped and the bathroom has a fantastic walk - in shower with lovely tiles. There are some little extras such as good quality shampoo, conditioner and roomsprays. The location is lovely and quiet with pleasant views of the village.

    Lynne2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Dove Cottage is absolutely beautiful - the interiors are perfect and every touch has clearly been very well thought out. The perfect cottage for a relaxing break. We would not hesitate to recommend to friends and hope to stay again. Thank you!

Enjoy a winter stay in the cosy, stylish, self contained annex. Part of a listed cottage set in the AONB village of Avonwick; on the edge of the South Hams, Totnes, Dartmoor and the South coast beaches. Explore the Totnes and Dartington Christmas markets and winter walks. The Annex has it's own entrance, little galley, desk area, double bedroom and en-suite shower room. Living in the main house are a sociable, young family of three and a puppy! We can organise a cot for 0-2 year olds
The annex is hand built and tastefully decorated, including a number of original artworks which make for a unique space.
Avonwick is a small village in South Hams with two pubs- the Avon Inn (100m away) and The Turtley Corn Mill (a mile away). The larger village of South Brent is only one mile away and a nice cycle / walk for shops, pharmacy, (more pubs!) Being only a mile to the A38, the location provides excellent access to the South Hams, Dartmoor, Exeter and on to Cornwall. Totnes is a wonderful and unique market town and is only 5 miles away. There are numerous rivers, walks, tors and beaches close by and we would be very happy to show you some tips on a map
  • Wonderful location in the heart of stunning area. Hosts suggestions will definitely help to discover many hidden gems. Lovely and warm welcome. Anex is very comfortable and has an amazing charm and character. Fitted with everything you need for shorter and longer stays. We are only sorry that we could not enjoy it longer on this occasion. We will be definitely coming back :) . Highly recommended this place :).

  • Anthony is a wonderful host, very friendly and incredibly hospitable. I gave a knock on the door upon arrival and was greeted with a genuinely warm welcome and made to feel very at home. The Annex was warm, clean and cosy with a comfortable bed and bedding, stylish artwork and decor Many kitchen basics were provided including tea, coffee, bread, butter and milk. There’s also a pamphlet you’ll find on arrival with great local tips and detailed house instructions. I found my stay at the Annex to be great value and would definitely recommend this place! Hope to stay again next time I’m down in the west country! :-)

  • Great little spot for a quiet weekend ( or longer! ) getaway! Perfect location close to Dartmoor and the sea that feels very homely and cosy. Anna and Anthony are super welcoming and have great tips for whatever you’re after! Hope Cove and Haytor were great, so is the pub down the road or the Church House Inn. We came in January and were lucky with the weather but will definitively return in the summer!

  • A simple room but spotlessly clean with comfortable mattress and I had everything I needed, including a choice of breakfast. Very interesting to see Nette making her beeswax food wraps!

    Eleanor2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed staying here - it was VERY clean, cosy, warm, welcoming and a lovely breakfast too! It's really quiet in Week and only a short walk away from the Dartington Estate which is where I was heading each day. The view from my window was lovely including daffodils and snowdrops, and one evening on my walk home an owl was chatting away! There's a great little garage in Dartington where you can get supplies and Totnes only a short drive away too. I didn't meet Nette but her partner Rob and little dog Jack who were super hosts. Would highly recommend this quiet little retreat for your stay in Devon!

This annexe is a self-contained space in the heart of Totnes with views up to Totnes Castle. It's a five minutes walk from Totnes railway station and ten from the river Dart and its path to either the bottom of town or to the beautiful Dartington Estate. We have a south facing garden that guests are welcome to use and private parking. The annexe is five minute's walk from the top of the High Street with of all its amenities. Totnes is renowned for its independent shops, cafés, pubs and history.
Please note that there are two sets of three steps approaching the annexe. Private parking is available at the rear of the property along with the access to our garden. The washing machine is situated in the basement adjacent to the annexe, the annexe itself sits beneath the kitchen of our family home so some general household activity can at times be heard above. The annexe is comfortable and cosy, the house itself is Victorian and has the quirks and charms associated with an older property.
Totnes is situated in South Devon, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Beaches and Dartmoor National Park are easily reachable by car - taking anywhere between 15 and 45 minutes for a selection of beautiful locations. Totnes sits on the main rail network between Plymouth, Exeter and beyond. The River Dart flows through Totnes and lovely walks can be taken in either direction along the river paths. The local ethos encourages independent trade meaning there are plenty of lovely, quirky coffee outlets, pubs and restaurants, as well as other pursuits such as regular markets, live music, cinema and literary events.

  • A charming little apartment located conveniently close to the railway station and the town center. The apartment was very clean and full of beautiful details. There was an extra heater there so the temperature wasn't a problem even in the wintertime. It was great to get oatmeal, crumpets and jam for breakfast! The tea selection was way better than in any other Airbnb I've been to... I got a quick and friendly reply to all my messages. The only minus in the apartment was that as mentioned in the description, at times there can be a lot of sounds from upstairs (steps, talking, music), so this is not for the best place for sound sensitive individuals, at least not without earplugs. There was no noise from outdoors though, since the apartment wasn't on the side of the street.

  • It’s a quirky little hideaway Fiona and Mat are so laid back, great hosts just let’s you find your own feet then leaves you to it after showing you where everything is. I love all the little notes about. Once your upstairs it is so cosy and warm and this was during the night storm Dennis hit. The bed was so comfy. Didn’t sleep much the night of the storm as I was worried about one of our dogs, the following night I slept like a log. We will def be booking in again when we come with the dogs. Thank you so much we loved It.

Located near Totnes, in the heart of a rural Devon Village. Tranquility and comfort combine to make our cosy cottage a perfect getaway. Situated for day trips to Devon beaches with an affordable price it’s a great base for exploring. Includes a private fridge in our kitchen, self serve breakfast (toast, cereal, coffee, tea). A 30” Netflix TV in the room and a comfortable foam orthopedic mattress, with extra pillows. Parking is in the village lanes and can be tricky but our price reflects this.
We are a quiet mature couple who mostly work at home. So interaction is what you make of it, hide away or engage either way we are easy going. We are happy to share all the downstairs areas of our home, and you can smoke in our small courtyard. Or Vape inside. Parking can sometimes be an issue but it’s free and is manageable. Worse case a 5 minute walk from the car to the door. The village is old and quaint because of this it is lacking infrastructure for the modern world of cars. However there is often parking within 1 minute or less depending on the time of day (evenings being busy) it’s also possible to stop outside for a few minutes and drop off your bags or necessities before going to park (we do this ourselves regularly) The village is safe and friendly. The fire is almost always going in the evening, and the perfect place for our guests to sit and relax. Amenities are within walking distance, well behaved dogs are welcome, with plenty of nearby fields and walks for them. The cottage has a cosy yet minimal feel. The kitchen is not perfect but has a farmhouse cottage feeling. The house is kept tidy but as it is a 400 year old cottage it has its quirks. We have been cooking and eating Asian food for over 15 years and offer cooking lessons and meals at additional charges, please ask for info when you book. Our cottage is a small home with unique layout and interesting nooks and crannies. What it lacks in grandeur it makes up for in charm. The fire is on most evenings, and as we don’t have any pets or children so the house is pretty quiet. We generally watch a film in our room between 9pm-11pm leaving the downstairs empty. We have one upstairs full bathroom with shower/bath and one downstairs toilet. We are always happy to help you while you are here, and also happy to sit around the fire in the evening sharing stories or not the choice is yours.
We are 3.5 miles outside Totnes, 12 miles from Dartmouth Close to many beaches. Close to historic landmarks. Close to DartMoor National Park Near Woodlands Leisure Centre 15 miles from Salcombe Beach 12 miles from Bee Sands Beach 11 miles from Blackpool sands Beach 15 miles from Bigbury beach 12 miles from Bantham beach 12 miles to Stoke Gabriel riverside village 13 miles to Buckfast Abbey

    Alex2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • I had a very pleasant stay at Suzanne's. She is a kind host and her house is located away from the business of Totnes town centre so nice and quiet. I had great views from my bedroom and it is a pleasure to bale to use the kitchen and cook my own food. A wonderful place for a retreat if you need one.

  • A lovely, peaceful and large double room a short walk or drive from Totnes town centre. Suzanne was super welcoming and accommodating and despite us missing each other (due to timings) I was able to check in and out without any difficulties.

    Anna2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely clean, quiet room and only 10 minutes walk from Totnes high street, Suzanne was very welcoming and gave us lots of great advice about the local area. The bed is so comfortable, my partner and I both slept so well. We would absolutely stay here again.

    Heidi2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Suzanne is a lovely, warm person, who leaves the whole house to you. You can make use of everything in the house, including the kitchen. She gives you all the privacy you need. We didn’t see her a lot, because we were away all day, but the communication was good and fast. We could keep our bikes safely in her garden and there was a parking space for our car next to the house. It was a great place to stay.

Perfectly placed to explore vibrant Totnes. A good sized bedroom with a comfortable double bed in the heart of the town. Ideally suited for solo travellers, or couples looking for a relaxing, and clean space close to all the independent boutiques, cafes and bars. Breakfast is included, and you can choose from a range of cereals, home baked bread, preserves, fruit and juice (We provide both dairy and non dairy milk.)
A great place to stay whilst attending a course, or as a base to explore Totnes and the surrounding area. Our quirky house is over 250 years old, a Georgian building in a medieval town. We are right in the middle of Totnes, near to the historic Royal Seven Stars Hotel, the Curator Cafe, the Norman castle, the market square and numerous cafes, bars and independent shops. It is very easy to stay here without a car; there are good public transport links including rail and coach. The bus and coach stop is just across the street and the train station is a 10-15 minute walk. The house is light and airy in Summer, but warm and cosy in the Winter months. We are happy for guests to make use of our kitchen and sunny decked terrace. Our house contains hundreds of books you are most welcome to read. In particular we offer: -super fast wi fi access -tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom -an earth friendly, sustainable household -100% cotton bed linen and towels -eco friendly, vegan toiletries: soap, shampoo and conditioner -clothes storage - hair dryer, iron and ironing board are available on request
Totnes is a thriving town with a diverse and independent community. Many of its residents are artists or writers. It has bags of history and character. It has a wide range of coffee shops, restaurants, bars, art galleries, quirky independent shops, live music events and venue spaces. The town has a rich heritage, and thereis much to see and do: a museum, a Norman castle, Ghost walks, Transition Town tours, and colourful markets filled with antiques, artisan food, and bohemian clothing. The location of the town offers easy access to Dartmoor and the South Hams AONB and coastal areas. There are also great walks around the town, offering routes to Sharpham and the Dartington estate.
  • Great place to stay close to all of the all amenities.

  • Mel's place was the respite I badly needed . Her home is at the heart of the town centre and everything is a stone's throw away. Less than a 10 minute walk to the train station. Great transport links, although I walked everywhere. Lots of nice footpaths if you're into walking and hiking. For those with mobility issues, there are some stairs you might need to climb.

  • Apartment in the center of Totnes, easy to find, less than 10 minutes walk from the station. The Schumacher college where I was going is accessible on foot in 30 minutes by a pedestrian path. The bedroom on the 1st floor is right next to the bathroom. Everything is perfectly clean. Mélanie is welcoming and very cheerful. I recommend this accommodation :)

    Frederic2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Melanie's cosy attic room with a glimpses of the hills beyond. We had just the kind of breakfast we like in the kitchen and then explored. We turned right out of the front door to catch buses just 30 seconds walk away for Dartmouth and Brixham, and to start a walk along the river Dart. We turned left out of the front door to find an array of interesting independent shops and cafes all with a friendly chatty atmosphere. We highly recommend the restaurant Gather, and going to the Totnes Cinema, full of easy chairs, sofas and tables to sit at while you sip a glass of wine through the film.

    Paul2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, bright, beautifully restored building, easy access and very central. Plenty of extra info on the town in the room, as well as a selection of teas. No parking on premises but clear directions to nearest places, very helpful and friendly.

Our internal one bedroom guest-suite in Dartington provides independent accommodation comprising a small sitting room with integral kitchen facilities, bedroom with kingsize bed and contemporary shower room. It is completely self-contained on the ground floor within our home. It has its own exterior entrance and guests have access to the gardens and parking on our drive. It is within walking distance of local amenities including shops, Dartington Hall, the Cott Inn and Totnes.
The independent guest accommodation is part of the ground floor of our home situated between Dartmoor and the South Devon coast in the beautiful South Hams. There are lovely local walks and a cycle route into Totnes. Dartington Hall is within walking distance and we are a short stroll to the historic Cott Inn which serves good food, and the village shops and local cafes. Ideal for independent individuals or couples seeking a friendly base from which to explore the local area. We do not provide meals but there are simple kitchen facilities ( 2 burner hob, microwave, sink, fridge, kettle, toaster) and we will provide a welcome-pack of basic provisions to help get you started (you can advise us of any preferences before arrival). Wi-fi is available. This is a no smoking house, but guests are welcome to smoke in the garden. Arrival and departure times are flexible, but if we are expecting new guests on the day of your departure we would ask you to leave by 11.00am. The compact nature of the suite restricts the use of cots, pushchairs etc. So although we are very happy to welcome young babies, you might find the limited space a problem for more than a short stay.
Dartington is ideally situated for access to Torbay, Plymouth, Exeter, the coast and Dartmoor. We are 5 minutes by car into Totnes, or a 20-30 minute walk along our lane, or the riverside path. The nearest beach is 7 miles away and there are numerous wonderful beaches within half an hour's drive.

  • A wonderful air BnB attached to main house but private entrance, very comfortable and within walking distance of Dartington village. Host went out of her way to make sure we had a great stay, would highly recommend.

    Sarah2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • An annex to the hosts own home, but surprisingly private and roomier than you'd think. We loved the bathroom! It was great to find all we needed for breakfasts made available, and you can even make simple evening meals in the little kitchen area, though the Cott Inn is just up the road, and worth a visit. Vivien's place is perfectly located for visits to Totnes, Dartington and the coast and moors in this lovely part of Devon.

Totnes is a small town with its own unique culture. It was one of the first transition towns with a focus on sustainable living and alternative therapies coupled with good shopping and a selection of excellent independent eateries, coffee shops and pubs. We have our own cinema, amazing record shop and plenty of events if you fancy a night out. There are lots of places to visit closeby across the South Hams and South Devon including the river Dart, local walks and bike trails, beautiful beaches, moorland and countryside. There are plenty of historical properties locally and we are close to Plymouth and Exeter. Denys Road is a quiet and friendly street located a short walk to the town centre. • Moya and Matt’s en-suite loft room was lovely; it was warm, clean and cosy and having an HD tv in the room was an added bonus. Communications with Moya were great too. Our dietary requirements were catered for and we were made to feel very welcome. The location is good - a short walk and you’re in the town. Parking is on their driveway. We would highly recommend this place to stay.

  • Muriel’s place is lovely and unique. We have stayed here before and hope to stay again.

  • When I choose a whole house, I hope to find a nest to settle in, especially if it rains, as often in Totnes ... Muriel's cabin is a warm, cozy, pretty, well-equipped, sober, peaceful nest. a nice place to be with yourself while having, right next to what to walk, go eat in a pub .. and like me, go after to Shumacher College. Muriel is very nice. She reacts quickly to any message concerning the cabin. so great. I recommend!!

  • Great little space and near the centre.

  • The Painter’s Cabin is comfortable, cosy and warm. It is an ideal base to explore South Devon and the towns on the River Dart.

  • It was an absolute joy to spend time in Muriel's Painters Cabin. It is close to the centre of Totnes, yet you feel like you're in the countryside, tucked away in her garden. It is very comfortable and well-designed both in terms of functionality (storage, hooks in useful places, a shower cubicle you can move in, good ventilation, a sturdy table that flips out) and how it feels as a space (restful, beautiful, lovingly put together). I had everything I needed for a short stay and Muriel made me feel so welcome, with little touches like fresh-made bread, butter and preserves. I heartily, heartily recommend!

    Gemma2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful weekend trip here. Nice and easy walk into town and everything you could want for a perfect Devon getaway. Muriel was fantastic and really helpful!

Just inland from some of Devon’s loveliest and most natural beaches lies the village of Tuckenhay set along Bow Creek on the River Dart...." In a setting of stunning natural beauty, Tuckenhay Mill is the centrepiece of a cluster of country homes and cottages with superb leisure facilities including two indoor and one outdoor pools, making it ideal for a family holiday for all ages. The Mill which once produced some of the finest paper in the land, nestles in the green and shady Bow Creek, a languid inlet of the River Dart where private yachts have replaced the old tall-masted ships and barges. Around the mill are all the buildings which once went to make up a small bustling village port. These listed buildings have been sympathetically restored and converted to a delightful range of holiday properties to suit larger family parties. Awards have been won for the conversion of buildings and the conservation of the area. With so much to do, many holidaymakers return year after year. South Devon awaits you Tuckenhay is only a 20-minute drive from the superb award-winning beach at Blackpool Sands and about 30 minutes from a surfing beach at Bantham, as well as some of the best natural beaches to be found anywhere in the UK. There is also extensive access to the coastal footpath for walking and the wilderness that is Dartmoor for walking, climbing and riding. This is a mecca for ramblers, bird-watchers, swimmers, surfers, horse riders, golfers and those interested in fishing, boating, sailing and windsurfing. In addition, there are many historic NT houses to visit including Agatha Christies’s Greenway as well as a local vineyard (with award-winning wines) at Sharpham. Tuckenhay is only 5 miles inland from Dartmouth and 3 from the market town of Totnes. Village shop 3½ miles. Riverside inn and restaurant within walking distance. A superb choice of cottages Each of the cottages has been individually styled to offer comfortable and spacious accommodation. Great care has been taken to retain the feel of the original buildings and extensive use has been made of traditional materials. Most have garden, terrace or patio. Individual cottage details are shown on the following pages. Many cottages have more than one bathroom and some have an en-suite bathroom to every bedroom. Kitchens are comprehensively equipped: most have dishwashers and all have microwave cookers. Couples and honeymooners will feel snug and comfortable in the small cottages: Mill Leat, Mill Stream and Mill Spring. Families can spread out in Papermaker’s or Turbine Cottages, while Mill Lodge, Edgecombe Barn and Tuckenhay Mill House will sleep larger parties in comfort. Of course, combinations of cottages can accommodate bigger gatherings of family or friends."

Once part of an old mews, the house has been converted into a modern and spacious home, with bright, light filled rooms. Guests benefit from their own staircase, leading to a private bathroom and large bedroom. Ideally situated within the Bridgetown area of Totnes, the town - with its wonderful array of independent shops, cafes and restaurants - is a 5 minute walk away.
My house is in a peaceful mews, tucked away in an old part of Bridgetown, on the other side of the river from the main town. There's a parking space available in the courtyard outside.
There''s so much to say about Totnes ! A medieval town with incredible charm, its vibrant culture and independent outlook make this a unique and stimulating place to visit. There's a fabulous cafe just over the bridge, where you can get excellent coffee ; they do great Italian food at lunch-time and in their Osteria restaurant on the first floor
  • Had a great stay, beautiful and interesting house. Really handy to pop into Totnes for a coffee. Would definitely recommend.

  • Laurence is a wonderful host and his home is lovely. Everything is so clean, and the location, with parking, was perfect. We look forward to returning!

  • Lovely stay. Spotlessly clean. Laurence was very friendly. Have already booked again for end of the month.

  • I had a great stay at Laurence's house. It is a lovely, calm space and is a perfect base for exploring Totnes and the surrounding area. Laurence was very welcoming and friendly - he responded to my emails immediately and gave me some very helpful tips on local places to visit.

    Jessie2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Laurence’s space is great! Totnes is a lovely town with lots of quirky shops and cafés and he’s centrally located so everything is walking distance. It’s a little tucked away, so just treat finding it as part of the adventure(!) or ask him for help. His house is made up of two halves, and there are two Air b’n’b rooms that share their own bathroom, stair and lounge space. The room is simple and spotlessly clean and the bathroom is lovely. Laurence provides a nice breakfast and great conversation but also respects your privacy if you wish. I would happily stay there again.

    Eileen2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Laurence’s place is a great find. It was perfect location for us. We could park there and walk to places nearby. It is very central so you can gently stroll to the market, shops and eating places. It was very quiet with no noise to disturb us, just some distant cries of seagulls to remind us of the sea. Our stay was comfortable and easy going. We couldn’t stay for breakfast as we were meeting friends, but it was there for us and we could take some for the road. Laurence was very welcoming, giving us space and privacy, but was around when we needed and gave good tips and advice of the local area. We would stay there again. Thankyou!

  • A beautiful and peaceful home. Laurence was a great host and made me feel very welcome. His home is very stylish and a lovely space to be in. Everything you need is provided and you are just a short walk from Totnes high street with restaurants etc. I thoroughly recommend staying here.

I have a mid twentieth century house with large windows, full of light. It's on the edge of Totnes, with the sound of sheep grazing and with wonderful views over Totnes itself and on to Dartmoor. There are wonderful sunsets to be seen and you can sit on the bench outside to admire them from the garden. I am into healthy nutrition and aim to provide my guests with delicious but healthy food. I'm also able to give plenty of suggestions for places to go and things to do in and around the area.
My house has a warm, welcoming, homely vibe, bringing into focus its architectural origins and making the most of them. It has an airy feel, being near the top of the hill with wonderful wide views of the sky and surrounding area.
Bridgetown is a quiet area and my house is on the edge of it, close to open countryside. Totnes is an amazing and unique town - very pretty and with much to offer being close to both Dartmoor and the sea.
  • Very last minute booking!, Sally was warm and very friendly and helpful and made me feel at home, the room was very clean as was the whole house enjoyed my stay alot and in a ideal location aswell

  • Enjoyed an excellent stay at Sally's place. Very clean, quiet and comfortable space, and a great base for exploring Totnes and South Devon. Sally was friendly and welcoming, and we shared some lovely conversations. Would wholeheartedly recommend!

    Matt2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • As mentioned In Sally’s description, this is on the far edge of town at the top of the hill, but does offer a quiet and safe base to stay with good views of Totnes Castle and church. A good night sleep was had with a comfy bed and a nice touch of fresh lavender placed in the room. Very good value for money, and we left Totnes having made a lovely new friend.

A lovely double room in our family cottage. The room has a 4ft 6" double bed (small) and we can add an extra bed for an extra child/person. We welcome children of any age. We have a dog & a cat, the dog is not allowed upstairs. We are a musical home and can often be heard playing, though not late! We have parking. We provide coffee and tea in the room (or the kitchen!). Our price includes a continental breakfast and we can provide a cooked breakfast for a small additional charge.
Our home is situated on the A381 just 3 miles from the lovely market town of Totnes. There are fields and a babbling brook to the rear of the house. We are also 10 miles from both Kingsbridge and Dartmouth and 9 miles from Torquay. We are ideally placed between the moors and the ocean - with it being just 20 mins drive to many of South Devon's best beaches such as South Milton, Slapton, Bigbury, Bantham and Blackpool Sands
Harbertonford is a lovely village with a great little shop and post office plus a pub. Nearby Tuckenhay and Bow Bridge also have delightful pubs.
  • Thanks Saj and Lawrence! I was in the area for a wedding and needed somewhere to stay for the night that was nearby. Saj was really quick to reply to messages and really flexible fitting around my weird timings. Would definitely recommend if you're in the Totnes area :)

Great chats over breakfast and all in all an ideal Airbnb experience. And Badger the dog is a total sweetheart despite being easily excited 😆 I hope to stay again next time I’m in the area. Thanks again.

  • Saj and Lawrence are warm, friendly, lovely people, and make you feel very welcome in their home. The room was clean and comfortable. One caveat is that the toilet is on the ground floor, and the bedroom is on the first floor; this was not a problem for me, but might be an issue for people with mobility problems who would rather not have to descend stairs in the middle of the night if they need the bathroom!

    Fiona2018-08-25T00:00:00Z

  • Very comfortable, clean maisonette, ideal for 2 people, easy parking, quiet location, short drive from town . It suited our purpose very well. Stairs could be a challenge for older guests! We enjoyed staying there. Thanks to Amy for being a great host

    Kay2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was a 5-star stay for us. The bed was comfortable with thick, soft bedding, the house was spotless and colorful, and the area was extremely peaceful and friendly. We also loved watching all the birds amongst the trees outside the windows. This place felt like an extension of our own home and I didn't want to leave it. We highly recommend a stay here and walks around the neighborhood to see how many animal sculptures you can spot, done by the neighborhood artist who does it purely by donations to recipients' favorite charities.

Marley Head is situated 1.7 miles from South Brent, a small town on the edge of Dartmoor and 6.5 miles from Totnes, famous historical town (Totnes has many attractions including a castle, market and many pubs, cafes and restaurants). There are fabulous pubs nearby serving delicious food. An idyllic rural yet accessible location with Dartmoor and coastal walks, historic towns, a variety of tourist attractions (including zoos, aquarium, farms, adventure activities, National Trust and much more) and also set within easy reach of the cities of Plymouth and Exeter. The sea is just 12 miles away and the stunning South Hams coastal villages, set in an Area of Outstanding Beauty, including Dartmouth and Salcombe, are all within easy reach. Situated very close to the A 38 enabling easy access to all that South Devon and Dartmoor have to offer.
  • Great place for a little break before all the panic and isolation sets in! Perfect for us and excellent hosts

  • We had a great stay in Helen's cabin this weekend which was in an ideal spot to explore Dartmoor and come back to after a day out. The cabin was cosy and clean with a well provisioned kitchen that we were able to cook a decent dinner in, although there were also good local options to eat out at. The location is a minute's drive from the main road but you'd never know as it's enclosed by trees, so you can enjoy the quiet but still be conveniently located to get off to a quick start each day. Helen and her husband gave us a warm welcome and were on hand for any questions and provided us with some great suggestions for the local area, thanks again!

  • Helen and her husband were very friendly and helpful. The cabin was comfy and cosy. We loved the game boards, specially the rush hour. It was so very nice to be waken by the singing of the birds in the morning.

  • We were looking for a stop off on our way back from Cornwall to extend our holiday by a day - we found Helen’s cabin and were not disappointed! In a convenient spot just off the main drag but hidden in a private woodland so you feel a million miles away from civilisation. Helen was kind enough to let us stay even though there are 5 of us - and it wasn’t even a squeeze. We fitted in comfortably with our 3 kids - 2 on the sofa bed and one on a camp bed. Helen was a brilliant host with tips on where to eat (Turtley Corn mill for a lovely pub meal) and where to go crabbing (Dittisham - 114 crabs caught and 3 seals spotted!). The nicest touch was the breakfast spread left for us - makes life so much easier when you’re travelling with ever hungry kids! Thanks Helen - I’m sure we’ll back on our next trip to the South West.

  • We had a really lovely stay at Helen’s cabin which was the perfect place to chill out for a couple of days en route home to Cornwall. Clean, comfy, warm and cosy, and in a handy location just off the Devon Expressway. The breakfast supplies were a really thoughtful touch and much appreciated. Thanks Helen!
