"The Hive" is a two level octagon shape Eco retreat cottage set on a beautifully landscaped 2 Acre Semi-Rural property in the prestigious bay side suburb of Gumdale. Contemporary interiors provides all the comforts of a luxury hotel suite. Sit on the porch and enjoy your breakfast watching beautiful birds or take a bush walk soaking the best of nature. "The Hive" is a perfect surprise for celebrating the special occasions and creating memories for lifetime.
Very private eco-cottage set away from the main residence. The octagon shape of the house allows maximum light through its glass windows giving that perfect ambiance of a nature retreat. Fully air conditioned, although being nested in the tree setting keeps it naturally cool and ventilated. The lounge area has a modern comfy sofa bed for relaxing. Kitchen is fully functional with Induction cooktop, Oven/Microwave, Fridge, Kettle, Toaster and basic utensils for cooking and serving meals. Narrow stairs lead you to the first level which has a Queen size bed. Lie down and watch Smart TV (BYO Netflix login, YouTube sync) or open the curtains to enjoy the full views of the garden. There is a walk-in-wardrobe to store your luggage and sort your personal gear. Bathroom has both hot and cold water and is fitted with modern vanity and toilet. The front porch is shaded for the daylight and well lit in the night to enjoy the fresh evening breeze. Children Special : There is a trampoline for kids under 10 to jump and play. Visitors can park there vehicles in open space at the property.

  • Brad's place is excellent. It's clean, comfortable and so very affordable. I was pleasantly surprised by the amenities, it's very well appointed with all you could need. My stay was last minute and short, however Brad was extremely fast in response time and very accommodating. The beds are very comfortable and just what we needed after a long day. I'd would recommend Brad's place as a great option.

    The perfect escape from the fast-paced city, yet close enough to enjoy it! Overlooking the swimming pool and garden, your beautifully appointed private suite is connected to our home by the alfresco patio that we welcome you to share with us. Bright and exquisitely decorated, we know you will enjoy your stay with us. Tadpoles' is always a popular choice amongst Sleeman Centre competitors, and we love having them back time and time again.
    Best suited to a couple although two children could easily sleep on the double sofa-bed. Car necessary - as public transport is not very regular, particularly weekends. We have plenty of off-street parking for your vehicle. Access to and from the airport is very direct along the freeway, avoiding all suburban areas. It takes only 20 minutes to drive there from our home. Linking to the freeway to make daily trips to the Sunshine Coast (1 hour 20) or Gold Coast (50 mins) is very simple and very quick - 3 minutes and you're on the freeway north and south! Guests prefer to staying longer with us and taking themselves on relaxed daily excursions, knowing their luggage and personal possessions are safely locked away with us. We are very close to direct link roads in to Brisbane City and certain times of the day can only take 20 minutes. Effective air conditioning ensures your comfort throughout our balmy summer months and cooler winter evenings. A centrally positioned ceiling fan gives you the other option of a more soothing breeze. Tadpoles' is perfectly positioned for those attending events at either the Sleeman Sports' Complex (2 minutes drive away) or the three Belmont Shooting ranges (3 mins drive away). Both complexes host events throughout every year. International, national and regional swimming/sports competitions are held at these venues. We will provide you with delicious and healthy breakfast food left in your suite, so you can help yourself at a time that best suits you. The kitchenette allows you to make tea/coffee and there is also a sandwich maker, toaster, microwave and bar fridge that is stocked with our home-made preserves. PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO OTHER COOKING ALLOWED - a deliberate choice with it being a studio apartment. You will wake most mornings to the beautiful sounds of the native birds, the kookaburras start around 5am - their laugh is truly infectious. We have quite a flock of birds who think our place is their place, impatiently waiting each morning for their breakfast. We now have a beautiful rainbow lorikeet named Diane who crashed in to our window over two years ago - is absolutely adorable and now part of our family. We've occasionally had 'Kenny' the Koala arrive up a tree, but it's not often. One minute drive you will find the Gumdale shopping centre showcasing different cafes/restaurants as well as the local pub which serves up great food. There should be a store there that will meet all your needs (pharmacy, post office, grocery, wine store). As we live in the main house you will always see us pottering. The property is on 2.5 acres with huge protected gum trees. You will see us enjoying, working and relaxing around the area most days (unless John's surfing). We will always respect your privacy, but if you feel like a chat over a cuppa/wine with us, we always enjoy swapping travel stories. I pride myself in being a Super Host and encourage any guests to please let me know if there is something they are not happy with. I always strive to provide a clean, welcoming environment for you, and will do my utmost to ensure you will come back in the future, or recommend Tadpoles' Retreat to fellow travellers. To date the mix of guests that have made Tadpoles' Retreat their home away from home has been truly amazing: 30% are attending either the internationally acclaimed Sleeman Sports Complex or one of the three shooting venues at Belmont. One of our sporting families had one of their 4 sons represent Australia at the Rio Paralympics! To date in one year they have stayed with us seven times. We indeed feel very special. 30% of guests are from countries far and wide. We always try and invite our guests for a dinner (time permitted). We are continually learning about others' cultures and totally enjoy our get togethers. The other 30% of our guests are people often flying/driving interstate for business and/or pleasure. Tadpoles' Retreat seems perfectly located from the airport with no negotiating through built up areas.

We ate from the veggie garden and loved swimming in the huge pool that had a gorgeous backdrop of a green valley and tall trees. I highly recommend this accommodation and would gladly come again.

    We are on a large block with the guest house meters from our private residence. Open plan family room has the kitchen with a breakfast bar and lounge area to relax in. Use of the pool is available on notices. Air conditioning is a ducted system which can provide warmth or cool temps as required. We are only 15min from the airport and 15 min from the city. And 45 min to the Gold. Chandler Sports complex is only 500mts away which is where public transport is available.
    We have a strip of shops only 1km away including doctors chemists coffee shops restaurant and a supermarket in 8min you can be shopping at one of the largest shopping centre in the region Carindale
  • Highly recommend you guys live here! I'm lucky to meet a landlord like Tony, and our family thinks he's fine. He was very hospitable, took our family to travel around, and took us to movie world at our request. Tony's family has two very cute dogs and feels that they are well-educated. When we cook here, they all run to the door of the house to see hahaha! The house is in very good condition, it looks new, the decoration is high, and the furniture is practical. After we arrived, we found that some items were missing, and Tony even bought them for us, thank you very much! There is a bus stop about 12 minutes walk from the house, and 4 stops to the shopping center. Have the opportunity to come to Brisbane and stay here again!

    Brand new town house, with a short walk to public transport, and bike ride to the waterfront. The area is great for casual fishing and boating. Shops and restaurants located close by and the airport is only a 15 minute drive away. The rooms are spacious, with built in wardrobes and are air conditioned. A continental breakfast will be provided for all guests. We both work in hospitality and love to meet new people and share life experiences whilst respecting your privacy.
    Guests have full access to kitchen, living and dining rooms as well as out door entertaining area with a bbq.
    Our house sits in between the beautiful Morton Bay and a 5 minute drive will take you to the restaurants and bars along the marina. The city is a short 25 minute drive and the Gold Coast is just under an hour south.

    Located 5mins drive to the Anna Meares Velodrome and the GC2018 Belmont Shooting Range. Private & self contained, with open plan living & kitchen areas, and french doors that lead to a beautiful sunny covered deck.
    A quiet, semi rural location yet only 18 km (20min drive) to Brisbane CBD and 20min to the airport. Close to the bayside and easy access to the gateway motorway. We are also only an hours drive south to the Gold Coast and north to the Sunshine Coast. We are a few minutes drive to the Anna Meares Velodrome, Sleeman sports centre at Chandler and the GC2018 Belmont shooting range. Plenty of space for parking and camper vans welcome. There is no public transport nearby so having your own vehicle is a necessity. The granny flat can accommodate 2 adults and 2 small children with 2 guests in the bedroom and 2 children on the double sofa bed in the living room. The sofa bed is only suitable for 1 adult. Nightly price is for Maximum 2 adults allowed. Any extra persons will be charged at a nightly rate of $30 per person. There are 2.5 acres of gardens with abundant local wildlife such as possums, kookaburras and cockatoos. We live in the main house within the property so we are on site most of the time. We are happy to give as much help and advice as you require but equally happy to leave you in peace. Gumdale is a semi rural suburb. It's very quiet and peaceful, with lots of wildlife, yet so close to the CBD. We are 5 mins drive from neighborhood shops which include an IGA minimart, pharmacy, bottle shop, subway and many cafes and restaurants. There are stairs up to the deck and apartment level. The apartment is situated below our garage. There may be occasional noise from the roller door opening and closing however we try to keep this disruption to a minimum.
    Gumdale is a semi rural suburb. It's very quiet and peaceful, with lots of wildlife, yet so close to the CBD. We are 5 mins drive from neighborhood shops which include an IGA minimart, pharmacy, bottle shop, subway and many cafes and restaurants. We are ideally situated 5 minutes drive from the Sleeman Sports Centre at Chandler and Belmont Shooting Range.

    This private space is the ground floor of our home and has a private entrance. Its open plan and large enough to accommodate 2 people (3 max if you have a small child). We have a diverse demographic of visitors however we do get a lot of sailors staying as our home is 3 blocks from the bayside with all the sailing and boat clubs, restaurants, cafe's etc. We are only a convenient 4 minute walk to train station which has express services into the heart of Brisbane.
    Beautiful walks and cycleways alongside the water just 5 minute walk from our home. Abundant choice of restaurants and cafe's too.

    Unit in great part of Manly close to train, shops, water, Marina and Gateway Motorway. Has been freshly renovated, clean and modern with all the comforts of home that you would need. Enjoy the waterfront 5 minutes walk as well as train station also 5 minutes. Not to mention the local restaraunts and bars!! If you choose to stay in however, you will be very comfortable.
    Comfortable place to stay while in Manly - private, quite and newly renovated so very fresh and inviting. The kitchen has everything you need and of course all linen is supplied. Access to casual sitting area with barbeque.
    Nice quite neighbourhood, train nearby and of course to walk along the waterfront is only 5 minutes down the hill.

    COVID FREE - private sanctuary surrounded by trees, high level of privacy and space, house is very clean and sanitary. Fresh air and own personal area separate from other rooms. The house is both close to the city and very tranquil. People often say that it is like a resort - lots of trees and birds outside. The bus stop from which you can reach the city is just a few minutes away. We have a pet cat Mary who is very friendly. Great house for long and short stays.
    Your bedroom has a double-size bed, a big wardrobe, a desk and a chair. It's got a window, high ceiling, shutters and flyscreens in the windows. It's modern, fresh and cosy.
    One of the nicest neighbourhood in the entire Brisbane - family houses with wonderful views at the city and located on hills.
  • The host Daniel is kind !! It's far from the city, but you can go by bus at once, and if you walk a bit, the supermarket is just a minute away. Well, if you come alone or if you don't know much about Australia, the host will explain it well. It's a cheap hostel, but it's definitely worth it. If you are looking for a place to stay, this is the place. Dani, the host is very kind and nice person and even If you don't know about Brisbane she would tell you every thing.     The house is located on Logan road and is in a fantastic location. You don't need a car! Just cross the road to get to the shops/ restaurants, public transport and facilities. If you do have a car, we have parking space and we are easy access to Brisbane and the Gold Coast!
    The neighbourhood is safe, vibrant, clean and culturally diverse. The place is situated across the road from the marketplace ( which includes Big W, Woolworths, Aldi, Coffee shops) and an array of restaurants, takeaways, bakeries and speciality grocers which offer you a taste of every corner of the world.

    This cosy flat is close to Murarrie train station, the airport and local shops. The flat has amenities for washing clothes and air mattresses should you need an additional quest stay. The access is easy and no stairs inside the unit. The flat is fully self contained and has lots of charm. Guest have access to the backyard, courtyard / barbecue and I am nearby or just a call away if guests need any help 😊.
    There is little garden court yard next to the stairs that is available to quests, a relaxing space to have a coffee and listen to the birds 🐦
    We are very close to public transportation, bus and trains. A convenient 7/11 store is on the same street as well as takeaway shop, coffee shop and local newsagents. Only 2 minutes to cannon hill shopping precinct.

  • Jillian is a great host. Checking in was a breeze. She is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very cozy, and apart from a stove you will find everything you might need. Only if you are a very light sleeper or easily annoyed by noises, you might not like the noises from the wooden ceiling above you. But this is how these houses are built. You can hear people walking upstairs. For me it was no problem, and at night it was quiet. Would like to stay here again.

    We moved into this home in April 2018. We built the kitchenette new for our guests. We have a beautiful pool and entertaining area which you are welcome to use and we have lovely neighbours. Our home is pet-friendly with a fenced back yard and dog-house. We lost both of our dogs this year, so your animals will have free access outside.
    We live in a quiet street and have friendly neighbors. There is a Newsagent, Bakery, Coffee Shop and Service Station within 700 metres and a Spar Express supermarket 1.1km from our place. Shopping Centres, Restaurants and the Esplanade are all 10-15 mins walk or 3-5 mins drive.

    Our Airbnb is a fully self-contained apartment joined to our home however completely private with its own entrance. The apartment is clean, cosy and spacious with a full kitchen. We provide unlimited Wifi and Netflix and a smart TV The Sleeman sports centre at Chandler is a 10 min drive. Wynnum Manly Marina a 2 min drive. We are a 15 min drive to the Port of Brisbane and have recently been hosting guests who are at the Port for work or on courses.
    Guests have commented on how quite it is here.
    We live in a very safe, friendly neighbourhood close to cafe's, weekend markets and restaurants. The apartment location is close to Moreton & Stradbroke Island and even closer to the Manly Boat Harbour where many day trips depart from.

Got a sightseeing tour of the area and helped book a bus on the way home. Takes about 20 minutes to walk to shops so a car is good to have if you don't mind walking. However, is only a 10 minute walk to the train station. Highly recommend this accommodation.

    We are high on a hill to catch the bay breezes. Parking is on the street out the front, but if walking up the steep slope is an issue, we can make a car space available in our carport on request.   • This lovely cottage at Wellington Point was our home for 2 nights. The location is fantastic and we walked everywhere. The village is just around the corner and the recreation area at the point was a pleasant 25 minute walk. Very private and safe with off street, undercover parking and an electronic gate for extra security. Peaceful and serene and wonderful birdsong in the morning. Lovely hosts who we enjoyed chatting to. Lots of little surprises left for guests and nice herbal teas to choose from. A stylish space has been created and it is nice and light and airy by day and block out curtains for night which helped us sleep in for the first time in ages. We hope to stay again as it was very relaxing and we highly recommend to other travellers.

    My place is a little bit like an oasis away from the hectic City or West End action but yet so close. 10 minute walk and you are on Boundary Street. 5 minutes walk to a Greek and Thai. Of course there is a bottle shop. 5 minutes further you enter the strip of restaurants on Hardgrave Road. There is so much to do and explore around my place. The space is downstairs and you have your own entrance and carport. There is heaps of unlimited parking on the street. There are 2 bedrooms and a kitchen.

    Clean and comfortable, our room is perfect for travellers. The airport is only a 10 -minute drive away (or a $20 Uber ride). We are so close to the city and the airport, nothing is out of reach. We are a 1 minute walk from the supermarket, coffee shops, restaurants and bus stop. Walk 10 minutes and enjoy a City Cat ride along the Brisbane River or the dining options at Portside. Travel 15 minutes by Uber and you are in the City!
    The room has one queen sized bed and will comfortably accommodate two guests. There is only on-street parking available at this property.

    Cool, comfy and close to the CBD. If you're coming to Brisbane to visit the CIty, QPAC or Southbank Parklands, then my place will suit you perfectly. Just 6 km to the city, it is a quick drive or better still, the express bus is at the door and will have you in town in around 10 minutes.
    During your stay, you will have the lower floor to yourself (apart from my office) which includes your bedroom with TV and table , a private bathroom , toilet , and back deck surrounded by native trees.There is basic kitchenette with Microwave , toaster , kettle and fridge with crockery and cutlery, and I am working on improving that as of Xmas 2020. The lower floor is segregated by a locked door , so your privacy is assured and if you wan't to chat or ask a question, I'm just upstairs. Your bedroom was originally my Theatre Room, so it is quiet , has AC, and can be darkened during the day if you need to sleep!
    Holland Park is close to the City and the Freeway is close by , so it is easy to get to the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast.The famous "Gabba" cricket ground is a short drive away and many local Coffee shops are close by. There are shops nearby and a supermarket is a 5 min drive away. There are two coffee shops in walking distance , and the local precinct of "Stones Corner" , with it's cafe's and shops is a short drive

Longstay guests provide their own once welcome pack runs out. Spacious queen size bedroom with queen bed, air conditioning, ensuite bathroom with double vanity and huge shower. The kitchen, lounge dining is fully self contained. An automatic washing machine and detergent provided for two complimentary cycles per week. Additional cycles $2 per go. No smoking, no pets, no parties. Peaceful, quiet, upmarket precinct. *Please note: The $25 cleaning fee includes one hour of cleaning, including fresh bedding and towels, dust and wipe, vacuum, mop, sanitation and bathroom.     Birkdale is a prestigious,leafy Brisbane Bayside suburb with direct train to city and trains to Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, with free parking at park and ride. Part of the Redlands koala precinct and myriad of bird life and other wildlife like the glider, it's a hub for nature lovers. With shopping centres nearby and a myriad of restaurants, fast food outlets and food delivery options like Uber Eats, both entertainment, dining and shopping is on our doorstep. Catch the ferries to Bayside Islands from neighbouring suburbs. Walk to King Island at low tide or enjoy seafood on the beach at Cleveland Point or many other beachside locations. Walk boardwalks through natural wildlife and flora habitats, or jog or cycle along beach side pathways. Opt for a picnic on the water, or enjoy a day at Streets Beach at Southbank, Brisbane city.   • Ray greeted us upon arrival, as I had a little trouble locating the lockbox. (if it was a snake it would have bit me). Very well appointed apartment and the lounge and bed were soo comfortable, what a treat! Nice little touches, well stocked start-up items in pantry and fridge. Lovely bathroom with rain shower-head, which was so nice. We made short trips over to Stradbroke Island, from Cleveland and so the location was ideal for us. Would highly recommend!
