New 520 sf 'not too tiny' house on 20 wilderness acres. Year 'round hot tub. Dog friendly. RV & EV plug. Firepit. Your Snowshoe Creek and Little Wood Lake trails. Free canoe, kayak, paddleboat. $25/day mini-pontoon boat. Fishing. Internet. WiFi. AC. Gas Fireplace. Sleep by Number. New gas stove. Ice maker. 2 TVs. ATV & snowmobile trails. 3 towns + Burnett Dairy/Bistro, 4 golf courses, DQ to fine dining, mini-golf, antiquing, multi-theater, Siren beach & 'Music in Park'. Wildlife! You'll return.
This is like nothing else you'll see or visit on this entire site. Experience the art of living more fully by cutting off commonality and grow emotionally by getting back in touch with unfettered nature. Sit and lean up against a huge tree just feet from the spring-fed creek and watch it flow over the sandy bottom even in the snow of winter. 'Now you're talking' - without saying a word. Be quiet enough to hear the owl or loon sing right into your soul.
We live across the creek and upstream yet far from you. Why after traveling the world did we end up here? Handy to the grandkids in White Bear Lake, yet a rare and raw piece of wilderness. For you? Close enough to get here quickly. Yet, an environmental 180 that is needed to put life back in balance. Hopefully, you'll find it hard to leave and easy to come back for another recharge.
  • This is BEST place I’ve ever stayed at. Even better than the pics. Dave is extremely polite and helpful. It was the most peaceful place. Can not wait to go back, never wanted to leave. 😍

  • If you want privacy this is the place. Use of the property grounds and trails. The tiny house is super with all the homey touches. Your host is great and alot of knowledge of surrounding area.

  • I took my girlfriend here for a little getaway before we both start working heavily. We absolutely loved the location and the tiny cozy cabin feel. Dave gave us some great recommendations on where to eat and where to hike. We will definitely be visiting again.

  • This was my third time back, and my favorite retreat to escape life for a few days. I could never get sick of the beauty, the tranquility, and the experiences of being out at Dave’s place. Exceptional in every sense!

  • The cabin is lovely! The hot tub and gas fireplace make the space cozy and comfortable even on the coldest nights. We loved hiking around the property and the proximity to the Burnett Dairy Co-op, Brickfield Brewing and other hiking opportunities. Dave, Kathy and Cooper were welcoming hosts. Can't wait for our next visit!

  • Lovely place to relax and unwind or go out and explore depending on your mood. Was great for a girls trip!

    Michelle2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This house was awesome! Very relaxing and just what we needed. We will definitely be back and hopefully for a longer trip!

    Kristy2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Upon arrival we stopped at t dawgs for lunch then picked up a frozen homemade pizza from the Burnett dairy store along with some cheese and meat sticks made locally as well. Dave welcomed us on arrival and gave us many tips and trick of the area. Provided us with a useful map of the land. Place even came with coffee for the morning! We enjoyed our little weekday getaway here with ice fishing on little wood lake with our dog and a relaxing hot tub to end the night. We woke up had coffee and went to this cute little cafe for breakfast called country cafe in town. Hope to plan another trip soon! Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing get away in the woods even the dog loved it!

Extremely private wooded getaway nestled deep in the woods overlooking the Wood River, about an hours drive from the Twin Cities & 1.5 miles from the St Croix River. With many modern touches, it's still very much a cabin. Relax outside on the wood deck on top of the ravine or in the large screen porch. Get cozy by the wood-stove or by the fire-pit. Enjoy total seclusion or visit the many local restaurants & outdoor spots with great hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, birding, and skiing nearby.
UPDATE: We are paying extra attention to cleaning and sanitizing this space. Our housekeeper Joann takes great pride in making sure every surface is sanitized for your safety. We have also reduced the price to help those in need of a place to self-quarantine. This is the perfect getaway, remote yet accessible, to get out of harms way and stay safe for a few relaxing days! A long winding driveway leads to a wonderfully secluded hidden get-away in 16.5 acres of woods. This modern, two bedroom cabin has a clean and relaxing feel and a quiet sense of peacefulness coming from the surrounding woods and sound of the Wood River. It has a fully equipped kitchen and full bath, an open dining and living room with a wood burning stove, a large 4K UHD TV including Netflix and an eclectic collection of DVDs. You'll enjoy a high quality stereo system with an iPhone input and a wide assortment of CDs. The cabin can be a great place to get some work done too, with high-speed wireless throughout and brand new central AC and gas heat system. The large master bedroom has a luxurious queen bed prepared with organic linens, an adjustable ceiling fan, storage for personal items and clothing, and an HDTV with DVD player. The second bedroom includes 2 comfortable beds, (a twin and full) made with organic linens, an adjustable ceiling fan, and storage for personal items and clothing. The large screen porch has a breakfast table and quiet lounge area perfect for watching the sun come up. There's also a gas grill conveniently located just off the kitchen and under cover making it easy to use in all kinds of weather. The outdoor wooden deck has comfy Adirondack chairs, a teak dining table with chairs and a beaurtiful view of the steep ravine down to the pristine Wood River. There is ample parking, enough for severals cars and even trailers. New forced-air gas heat and central air-conditioning throughout provides year round comfort no matter what the temperature outside. You can also fire up the indoor wood stove for the warmth and romance of a cozy fire! “Sometimes you just gotta open the door, get out, embrace the cold and take note of your surroundings.” - Mary Oliver
While being on a lake can be like being in a goldfish bowl with no privacy, our river setting has total privacy and has no other homes within sight. The cabin sits atop a beautiful ravine along the Wood River. There is a nice wide path along the top of the ravine that leads to a steep rope-lined incline down to the river, get for the adventurous to explore! The cabin is approximately 1.5 miles from the St Croix River, a Nationally designated Wild & Scenic River. Canoe and kayak rental services are available only one mile away on Hwy 70. The nearby area includes many excellent hiking, biking, and ski trails accessible to all ages. Brandt Pines is a favorite location and is just a couple miles north. Grocery stores and restaurants in Grantsburg are just a mile or two east. Crex Meadows Wildlife Sanctuary draws people from all over the country for spectacular bird watching and is just on the other side of Grantsburg. However, just staying home at the cabin around a coxy fire and chilling out or adventuring down the ravine to the river is also a great option.
  • I'm so happy that I chose this cabin for my retreat from the 'real' world. The Wood River Retreat is restful and spiritual, from the moment you turn down the drive. I can't wait to get back again!

    Nick2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • It was such an amazing getaway! My husband and I enjoyed the peace and quiet and our dog loved the endless walking trails! The wood burning stove was the perfect touch to the cabin feel. We have already talked about renting it again!

  • We loved our weekend getaway at this cabin! The fireplace was wonderful and Douglas provided detailed instructions on how to use it. The cabin was immaculate and lovely. The appliances were up-to-date and worked very well! Douglas also gave us detailed tips on the location which were much appreciated!

    Carrie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Everything is great. My wife and I loved the space. Doug is a photographer and his photos are hung in the space and beautiful. The decor is minimalist but stylish and comfortable and fills all the needs. The kitchen is great with great equipment and staples, and the view on top of the bluff is beautiful. We'll very likely be back.

Renovated to resemble the original build over 100 years ago. Relax near the wood burning stove in the structure of shaved timbers. Hike around the creek bed on the 20 acre parcel or for the more adventurous the adjoining 50,000 acres of DNR land.
Many photo opportunities around rustic barn. Great for evening bonfire. Shooting Range for long guns or pistols. This abandoned farm is an excellent property for hunting. Please note this is a cabin, there is heated running water, but no refrigerator. Plan on bringing a cooler to keep food and beverage cold. Kuerig coffee maker is ready to go so bring your pods. There is no conventional oven, we use an electric griddle, hot plate or crockpot for cooking. These are at the property for you. There is unlimited space for setting up tents or other camping structures.
    Rural and secluded.
  • Great rustic location!

    Rob2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! The cabin was super cute and cozy. Perfect weekend away!

    Laria2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin provides the perfect getaway to reset and enjoy sometime unplugged. It is a beautiful 100 year old charming cabin set on what used to be a farm. We spent time snowshoeing around the property and at Crex State Wildlife Area, stopped at the brewery in Grantsburg and did lots of reading by the fire at the cabin.

    Kari2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cozy cabin, perfect for a little getaway. The craftsmanship is wonderful, made feel a bit like you had gone back in time but with modern creature comforts. We will stay again!

    Katie2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • It was nice that the place was warmed up when we got there with a fire going and plenty of dry firewood available. Very comfortable and relaxing cabin.

    Travis2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cabin. We had an incredibly relaxing time. It was so spacious yet cozy, there was plenty of wood, and the property was serene. Thanks Ron, for a lovely place.

    Lindsay2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time. It was still tough to keep it warm in the winter but there was plenty of fire wood provided

    Miles2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great! My wife, dog, and I had an excellent stay. The wood burning stove kept us toast and we had a lovely hike nearby. I'd highly recommend it.

Remote, tranquil, quiet and exceedingly private getaway right on the banks of a protected river, only 1.5 hours from the Twin Cities! Even the beautiful drive there is relaxing. Enter a world of peace and calm deep in the woods. Make delicious meals in a well stocked high-end modern kitchen, play in the river, relax in the sauna or enjoy a bonfire. This is not your typical cabin but a spiritual eco-oasis with a unique eclectic blend of modern, rustic, Native American and Japanese aesthetic.
UPDATE: We are paying extra attention to cleaning and sanitizing this space. Our housekeeper Joann takes great pride in making sure every surface is sanitized for your safety. I have also reduced the price to help those in need of a place to self-quarantine. This is the perfect getaway, remote yet accessible, to get out of harms way and stay safe for a few relaxing days! Modern yet rustic, but not at all primitive, the cabin was built not only for maximum energy-efficiency, but with much care in providing a safe, non-toxic, all-natural environment. Comfortable sleeping spaces are provided with several options including a small private bedroom, a large futon in the living room under the skylights by the wood stove, or a small futon on the screen porch by the banks of the river. An easy scenic drive from the Twin Cities and its extremely tranquil and private setting, this is the perfect location for personal retreats for artists, writers, yoga practitioners, people in the healing arts or anyone in need of personal, spiritual or artistic creative rejuvenation. This is ideally suited to singles and couples looking a quiet getaway or personal retreat. Perfect for a romantic getaway! The long winding driveway leads to secluded, heavily wooded grounds that have many Japanese garden touches but are kept in a mostly natural state. Facilities include a large well-stocked modern kitchen with 6 burner professional stove, full bathroom with hot and cold running water and claw-foot tub (there is enough hot water for a shower but not enough to fill the tub unless heated supplementally on gas stove), gas heat, electricity, phone, wireless high-speed internet, modern wood-burning stove, 7 skylights, wood-fired sauna, screen porch on the river bank, an attached wooden deck with gas grill along the river, a gazebo (great for yoga), hammock (great for reading/napping), a large fire-pit with lots of wood provided, photo library and a high-resolution audio system with a great CD collection and wireless music streaming capabilities. This forest oasis alongside a protected trout stream is surrounded by hundreds of heavily wooded acres. Enjoy the rarity of total privacy- no one else is within sight or sound. The Trade River is very clean with a nice shallow, sand bottom is perfect for swimming, wading or frolicking. Or just sunbathe on the dock, clothing optional! • All electricity is produced by solar farms and bought from our local electric co-op. • All cleaning supplies are natural, non-toxic, chemical and dye free. • All new linens and towels are organic cotton (some old ones still in use while we phase in) It is built to accommodate more than 2 people but I like to keep it available for solo retreats and couples rather than larger groups. There is also a separate hand-built log cabin on the premises. The log cabin will not be occupied during your stay but can be rented additionally at https://airbnb.com/h/authenticlogcabin. To maintain a retreat-like atmosphere we only allow one or two guests at a time. Also, due to past guest abuse, we no longer allow pets. If you are traveling with pets or have more than two guests please check out my other nearby Airbnb cabin: the Wood River Retreat https://airbnb.com/h/woodriverretreat "Retreat to move forward" -Pico Iyer
Located far off the road at the end of a long winding driveway. While lake cabins can be like being in a goldfish bowl with no privacy; we have total seclusion on the river with no neighbors within sight or sound. We are surrounded by hundreds of acres of forest filled with many deer, fox, owl, wild turkeys, coyotes, otters, beaver, the occasional bear and much other wildlife.
  • What a beautiful place to relax and grow! Waking up to rain on the skylights, deer drinking from the river, or wild turkeys walking across the lawn, each morning brought a new connection to nature. Truly a fantastic experience!

  • It’s hard to even know where to begin, since this was one of my favorite Airbnb stays to date! Doug’s cabin is filled with thoughtful touches that helped us have a very relaxing, restful weekend. We loved cooking meals in the well-stocked kitchen, listening to music on the super high quality sound system, and gazing out at the river while lounging on the cozy futon. The sauna and wood stove are a nice addition. Everything is so well-curated that it feels like home. Thanks, Doug!

    Lauren2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We've been visiting this cabin during the first week of March for 3 years now. Being less than a 1.5 hour drive from the Twin Cities, it's accessible in the winter no matter what the weather has in store. The space feels so cozy and clearly reflects host Doug's artistic and soulful aesthetic. The open floor plan has an oversized professional kitchen / dining room which opens up into a relaxing sitting area. This space has a wood burning stove, stereo and sweeping views of the river, the forest and the sky. This is a rustic retreat. You are going to be conscious of conserving water because of the noisy water pump and various notes reminding you of this endeavor. However, this is all part of the charm of the space. If you consider on-site compost, a wood burning sauna and calming spaces to meditate in as amenities (as we do), you're going to find a vacation spot that you'll want to return to indefinitely.

    Molly2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and rare quiet, truly quiet, setting.

    Laura2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting in the woods on the serpentining Trade River. Cozy and full of spirit. We would love to stay again.

    Lisa2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful get away from the business of life. Such a wonderful space to become one with nature and reconnect with ones self or a partner. The cabin was so unique with art, music and nature brought into to the space to help make one feel grounded & peaceful. I loved the extra’s like the yoga mats!! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for a wonderful get away. Thank you.

    Kellie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • In a word. Perfect! Clean. Quiet. Beautiful. Spacious. Calming and relaxing. We took advantage of the beautiful kitchen. The wood burning stove. The sauna. The stereo system. Just a perfect getaway to relax. Unwind. Unplug. And get engaged. Literally. And figuratively. Thanks Doug. This was a wonderful experience.

The cabin is located 1 mile south of Danbury, just north of Webster and Siren. The area is full of fun summer activities. The Gandy Dancer bike trail is 3/4 mile from the cabin. The St. Croix Casino is located in Danbury. In the summer there are free music concerts in Siren. We are located on 2 acres of land, most of which is forest with a walking trail in the back. The Timbers movie theater, miniature golf & more is in Siren. Grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations are also nearby.
Come & enjoy the view from the living room or the relaxing screened-in porch in this peaceful, 3 bedroom cabin on Long Lake! Features include a beach and lake toys! Located on a dead end road this cabin is serene and removed from high traffic. Rustic 3 season cabin with knotty pine interior. The cabin features a large screened in porch that overlooks 49 acre Long Lake. It is the perfect place to listen to the loons and watch the moon reflection dance across the lake at night, or enjoy a night by the fire. There are three bedrooms and a small bathroom with a shower stall. The kitchen has cabin sized appliances (fridge & stove/oven), common utensils and cooking equipment including a coffee maker, Keurig, waffle iron, toaster, crock pot & microwave. Coffee and Tea provided, free of charge. There are spices and dishes available for your use as well. The living room is cozy with ample natural lighting. Three large windows look out to the lake. There are electric wall heaters for use on chilly nights in the spring or fall. There is no air conditioner, however the lake breeze and ceiling fans make for comfortable sleeping. Bring your own beach towel; there is a nice beach area (sandy when the lake isn't too high), fire pit and gas grill. Take a paddle boat, kayak or canoe for a ride around the lake and see the wildlife-bald eagles, turtles, geese, loons & more! There is no public access to the lake, so although it's a small lake, you will likely have the entire thing to yourself 90% of the time. The lake is spring fed and is good for swimming, among other activities. Guests have full access to the cabin and everything in it. Guests can use paddle boats, kayaks, canoe, hammock, and water toys. A pump is provided for the inflatable toys but please feel free to bring a backup if you like. You can drive right down to the cabin and park next to it. The cabin is just under 2 hours drive from the Twin Cities. It is an hour drive from Duluth.
We are located on a dead end, sandy gravel road. Most neighbors are here on the weekends only, although we do have year-round neighbors too. There are four cabins on our stretch of road; two of which are ours.
  • Tyanne’s place was very clean and cozy. We had a great time driving around and hiking. St Croix River State Park is about 12 miles away. It’s worth it to go and check it out. The space is perfect for a couple or girls getaway.

  • My girlfriends and I rented this cabin for our first annual man free weekend. We escaped the Cities and left our men at home and this cabin was the most perfect escape. The cabin has literally everything you’d ever need, down to soda pop in the fridge. The whole place is clean, the amenities are high quality, and the setting is as serene as it gets. We simply didn’t want to leave. We can’t wait to return next year!

    Erin2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful getaway. The cabin was well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Very clean. It was so relaxing, the lake was like glass. Very quiet, not a lot of boat traffic. I would highly recommend staying here

    Bonnie2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time. Nice place to take the family.

    Jason2019-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great home that worked well for two couples and one 9 month old! There was a crib and a pack and play to chose from which was so helpful. Also toys, books, and a high chair for baby. Tyanne was very prompt with any questions we had. This is true cabin living with a beautiful view of a lake. There were canoes but we didn’t have time to take them out! Off the beaten path... down a gravel road but does have neighbors close if you’re looking for more of a private experience.

Whether you need relaxing, or relish fishing, hunting, navigating Wisconsin ATV trails, or biking the Gandy Dancer, we hope you will enjoy our family friendly getaway in the North woods. It is a peaceful place away from the city, where you can bask in the beauty and serenity of the outdoors. From cozy fireplace to wrap-around deck, there is an abundance of enjoyable space. Our home is great for couples, families with kids, small groups and retreats—pets are welcome. Get outside & enjoy!
-North Woods Family Getaway is unique because we have benefited from an extended family of gifted builders, designers and restorers, who have contributed their skills to make our place comfortable and homey over the 12 years since we’ve owned it. We enjoy family gatherings when family members can be seen playing a game of bocce ball or croquet in the yard or chatting on the decks. Children have plenty of space to play and are very welcome. -We have a small section of an ATV/Snowmobile trail which runs through our land, a little distance away and out of sight of the house. -The Gandy Dancer Trail for hiking and biking is just 1/3 mile away. From there you can explore 20 miles of trail just in Burnett County. -Lakes and Rivers are nearby with public access points available. -Fox Run Golf Course and Sand Greens Country Club within 5 miles. -We are located close to WI-35, which makes us easy to find, offers convenience and is helpful in the winter because the roads are regularly plowed.
Our house is located at the head of the 8-mile 'Rustic Road', designated as such due to the scenery, which includes lakes, forests, rolling hills and a picturesque farm. It's great for bike rides. Hundreds of miles of Wisconsin DNR designated ATV and Snowmobile trails are available from our property.

  • What a lovely cottage! Though it was spacious, it had a homey, cozy feel. It was also spotlessly clean. The wood-burning fireplace in the Great Room was such a wonderful treat, and it burned beautifully! We so enjoyed the view from the Great Room - windows galore! We show-shoed from the backyard, through the woods, down the road a bit, and onto a small lake. All of the people we encountered were super-friendly - from snowmobile riders, who slowed down and waved when they saw us, to folks driving by, who also waved a friendly "hello," to the women at the Log Cabin Store and Restaurant, who served us with cheerful smiles.

I welcome you to view the wildlife of Northern Wisconsin from this genuine log cabin. There are plenty to see from the many birds i.e. Woodpeckers, Yellow Finch, Bluejays, and Hummingbirds in addition to deer, foxes, and whatever else might call the woods their home.
This is a genuine log cabin, hewn from local timber. All of the outside walls are logs, as well as some inside. Complete with a pine ceiling, it is very warm and cozy. The furniture is a heartfelt mixture of new and antique, each piece lovingly selected for the space. I've included a TV, Roku, and DVD Player (no cable or antenna, however) for rainy days. The large modern kitchen makes cooking big breakfasts easy after a night of grilling and roasting marshmallows just off the back patio. This all melds perfectly into a grand guest experience.
Grantsburg is home to Crex Meadows as well as the 30,000 acre state park across the road with numerous hiking trails. The St. Croix River complete with boat access is just two miles down the road. If that's not enough, there are plenty of antique and gift shops in and on the outskirts of town. For the adventure seekers, you can rent outdoor toys just across the main highway and for the less adventurous, there is a Par 32 golf course in town.
  • Beautiful space. Very cozy!

  • Fabulous cabin in the woods. Great secluded feel, although easy access to road and Crex Meadows. Lots of space but cozy Northwoods feel (we saw two deer in the yard one morning!). Great kitchen amenities. Great outdoor gathering spaces as well. Would def stay here again!

    Jean2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • A fun place to stay! Lots of games and nature to see! We had a bunch of deer walk through the yard. Locals have much to do - tubing and canoeing, ski resort not far away. Even some local breweries with some tasty beer!

Beautiful 3 bedroom guesthouse in the woods only 1.5 miles from Siren. Great location for snowmobiling, atv's, fishing, lake access, local activities, why rent a hotel or two when everyone can stay together in a beautiful place to create some memories. Plenty of space to park trailers for the toys.
Our guest home was built with all the amenities you would want in a primary residence. Two bedrooms feature queen beds while the third has two large bunk beds (twin up top and full underneath). It will sleep 10 people comfortably. Great for a larger family, two families to gather, or just a large group of friends. Knotty pine floors and vaulted ceiling, stone fireplace (gas), full kitchen with sit up bar. It definitely has all the comforts of home but that cabin in the woods feel. Great place to gather and create some memories.
Is a great place to stay and play. Quick access to all the amenities of Siren and Burnett County. As well you have the ability to enjoy the woods, wildlife, and lake right at the property. You can also look on (website hidden) to learn more about our county or (website hidden) to find out about our gem of a town

  • Great find. The layout was perfect for a few families to get together and catch up on memories and life in general! Many amenities were provided so our plans to cook our meals worked out perfectly. Hosts were very fast with their response times. The kids loved the toys, games, and books. The adults loved gathering around the kitchen bar. EVERYONE loved the foosball table! Great meeting location for friends who live in Duluth and Minneapolis. We plan to come back in the summer so we can explore the waterfront and all the activities! Thank you!

  • Fourth time renting. Jon put me on fish on Yellow (typically I pick my spot but deferred this trip). Had a great time catching 10-13 crappies and a few decent pike. Can’t wait to rent again next winter.

    Chris2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Holes drilled, heat on when we arrived. Fish didn't cooperate but we had a great time anyways! We will be back next year!

  • SUPER customer service! VERY, very nice, clean, comfy accommodations! Kept in contact to make sure we were OK, but NOT overbearing! Great suggestions to help make our stay extra good! Check it out! We'll be back!

  • Third time I’ve booked with Jon and Tina. They are great to work with. I’m hopeful I can find another weekend this winter to get up there.

    Chris2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jon and Tina are very hospitable. They put the shack exactly where I wanted which made for a great weekend on Devils Lake. Great price for the shack too! I don’t think you could do better in NW Wisconsin. I’ll be renting again in the future.

    Chris2019-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, warm and ready to go! Will use again thanks for a great weekend!

    Nathan2019-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We were put in a great fishing spot. The hosts gave us tips to enhance our fishing experience. Any issues or questions that we had were addressed promptly and professionally.

    Jamie2019-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jon and Tina were very hospitable. At the time we rented, we weren’t sure there’d be enough ice to put the shack anywhere so Jon and Tina provided a number of options for us. They also provided a number of amenities such as an electric auger and generator. The 16 foot ice castle is perfect for two people who wanna fish 24/7. It was clean and very affordable. You can’t go wrong with this. I highly recommend.

We are a small town, but there are several restaurants and bars nearby, several golf courses, a couple casinos, ATV, hiking, biking, and snowmobile trails. This is a spare room in our house. You are welcome to use kitchen and laundry facilities. We cook quite a bit so you are welcome to either join us or can certainly cook your own meals. We do have WiFi available also.
We are literally right in the middle of the best snowmobile trails., With access just down the road. Great hiking , biking, and ATV trails as well. Many lakes and rivers all around us for activities from fishing to tubing the rivers. Also the St Croix casino is just up the road as well. Many bars and good food as well.

  • Perfectly simple and rustic. The fact that the cabin is one studio space means you and your friends and family get to truly spend your time together. Great use of space with that open layout! The deck offered great views of the yard and beyond and the stars at night were so beautiful out there. Brought the pups too and they just loved this place. We went to Boondoogle Winery and 320 Brewery for some local beer and wine and we found some amazing hiking trails along the river at Governor Knowles State Forest, all 3 of which I would highly recommend visiting. Great place overall!

  • This is a nice cabin with plenty of space leading up to the lake. We had a great time canoeing around the lake, playing with the dog, enjoying some nice quiet time. There are a few other houses nearby and neighbors checked in on us when a big storm came through and toppled some trees and knocked out power. People are really friendly, and the lake is not crowded, even in the middle of the summer on a weekend. The cabin was nice and clean, and Jean was a very responsive and courteous host.

A rustic cabin in a wooded setting on Bass Lake near Danbury. Features include a stone fireplace, wall-to-wall knotty pine, cozy furnishings, charming antiques, updated appliances, a huge deck, and room for 6+.
We can probably allow the pictures to speak for themselves, but our cabin is warm and welcoming. With floor to ceiling pine, large windows to the lake and woods and a fully functional stone fireplace, everything about the space invites you to relax and reconnect (or disconnect, if you prefer).
Don't be surprised if the neighbors wave you over for a chat (and maybe even a beer). They're friendly but non-intrusive. Much the same with their dogs who may stop by for a quick visit as well. There are a few bars and restaurants nearby-- Including the Yellow Lake Golf Course (for something a little nicer), The 10th Hole (fun bar and great greasy-spoon breakfast), Sweeny's Bar (live music!), and the Gandy Dancer Saloon (fun small town bar).
