Enjoy a stay on a working cattle ranch in a actual barn in the bunkhouse. A great place for a romantic getaway or to get away from fast city life. You can enjoy the morning having a cup of coffee while enjoying the views of Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park while visiting with the livestock .Only 30 minutes from the entrance of the park ! You can go fishing in 2 fully stocked ponds, hiking around the 100 acre ranch ,beautiful sunsets, millions of stars, and watch a branding if we are doing so
You have access to only the second story of the barn , and the bbq, and picnic table which is all included with your stay, along with the rest of the ranch to hike, fish and explore around. We also provide complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate and popcorn !! The bunkhouse is approximately 350 square feet. The bunkhouse is all newly furnished and jus completed , it’s all bran new as of May 2019 , with western decor You may watch if we happen to be branding and working cattle, horse shoeing , or if you wish to join in with us as we fish and bbq at the pond . We do live 50 miles from the closest city in the mountains, which is an hour drive , but there is a local small store and gas station 20 minutes from the ranch.
This is a very peaceful and relaxing surroundings, with amazing sunsets and you can see the most stars you have ever seen. The bunkhouse is great place for a romantic getaway or just to get out of the city and enjoy ranch life .
  • Close to sequoia national park, about 45 min drive to general grant tree. Place is nice with outdoor bbq. The pillow is a little on the thick side, other than that we had a great time there.

  • We highly recommend The Bunkhouse! In every way, this place exceeded our expectations. The location in proximity to the Sequoia Nat'l Park is perfect, and the sprawling property and access to the animals is so special! It really made for an unforgettable, and one of a kind experience. Jennifer was very quick to respond to our questions, and answered our call right away when we had a question. Everything was very easy and made our quick trip very relaxing and enjoyable. We will definitely be recommending your AirBnB to our family and friends, and we'll be going back!

  • At Paula, we liked everything. Very good location: 15 km from the house, the entrance immediately to 2 parks - Kings Canyon and Seqoia park. From this point you can drive and see the whole Seqoia park and leave it through Three Rivers. A very picturesque view from the house, and in the courtyard in front of the house you can have breakfast with the painting birds of the hummingbird, which Paula is caring for. In this place you feel alone with nature, a real American outback. At the same time, very good living conditions and the generous hospitality of Paula. We highly recommend it, but ourselves, if we are in these parts, we will stop only at Paula.

    Natalia2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Warm and cozy ranch less than an hour from Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Loved the banana bread she had waiting for us! We hope Paula's place is available next time we head to those parks.

  • What you see and read on airbnb about paula’s place makes you think “hmm sounds good”.... the reality is even better / more surprising ! Perfect after a long day hiking in the nearby park(s) 👍

We are thrilled to share Serenity with you in the rolling foothills of the Sierra Nevada, just 35 minutes from the gate to Giant Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Please make yourself at home away from home on thirteen acres untouched nature. This home is for those that love the natural environment, plants, animals, and everything that comes with it. We are a National Wildlife Federation Certified Wildlife Habitat and work hard to comply with the NWF standards.
Serenity is at the end of a Cul de sac and offers complete privacy on 13 acres. The view from the deck and front of the house overlooks a lovely meadow and the seasonal Mill Creek just beyond. The house comfortably sleeps 8-10 persons on a Master bedroom king, an adjacent loft with two twin size and two full size beds and a family room queen sofa sleeper. Enjoy the view from the upstairs deck or downstairs patio. The home has a fully stocked kitchen, washer, dryer, and two bathrooms. There is plenty of space for parking, to spread out, and to make yourself at home. We don't charge a deposit and there are no minimum stays. We want you to enjoy Serenity, even if for just one night, without breaking the bank. Please inquire about special pricing if you would like to hold your special event at Serenity.
Dunlap is nestled along Highway 180 in Squaw Valley; 35 minutes from Giant Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. There are gas stations and restaurants in Dunlap and Squaw Valley. The house is located at the end of a Cul De Sac and down your own private drive. Serenity Rustic Retreat is possibly the most private home in Squaw Valley.
  • Beautiful home with a beautiful view. It’s not called serenity ranch for nothing. It was quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. There were also a lot of beautiful animals around the property such as peacocks and wild horses that would come and drink from the creek. Definitely would recommend staying here if you’re looking to get away from city life.

    Monica2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our time here. The property is vast and the house has everything you need—plus a DVD/tape collection. Though it’s remote and rural, we had no trouble accessing the property.

    Dean2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in a peaceful, quiet area. Make sure to follow the listing’s directions (and not Google Maps) when getting to the house. Sandra was very responsive in helping us navigate to the house.

  • Great place for a get away. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Thank you : )

    Nhia2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place if you want to be alone! There is no cell service on the property. So no annoying texts. We had cows roaming the yard just as we were leaving. About 1/2 dozen calf's. Suggestion for anyone staying here. -Pick up food before you arrive. It's a 10 minute drive to get to the main road. -if you want to watch movies, they provide a bunch of DVD's and VHS. If you want to watch your own stuff, download movies, bring a HDMI cable and a laptop. There is no service to stream movies. -the water does have a sulfur smell. It's not a big deal. A bit annoying, but 100% safe. -if you are staying in the winter time like we did, make sure to keep everything closed up. It takes awhile to warm the place up even with the heater and fire going -the Pizza Place near by is great. They even had GF crust so we both could eat there. -the store nearby has fire logs for sale. I'd recommend buying them outside of the area. The only have the small 1.5hr ones and they are a bit pricy. It's a simple place in a beautiful setting. Watch for the peacocks, mules, cows, horses and other barnuard animals along your drive!

    Erik2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I had a great stay and would stay again anytime. The water had a slight smell, but nothing too bad. Sandra was able to work with us on a misunderstanding on my part which was great.

  • Amazing yard by a creek. You can bring pets so that’s awesome.

    Kenneth2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place was beyond expectation, Pictures just do not do the place any justice. we had an amazing time bbqN on propane grill provided, along with a beautiful bon Fire in the evening . Our dog loved taking walks along the creek that is breathtaking and relaxing. We had dinner right in front of the wood burning fire nice and cozy and romantic. Coffee in morning on the awesome balcony right out of the master bedroom doors was heavenly, we did not want to leave !.. book your stay don’t hesitate, we will definitely be visiting again. Thanks Sandra & Daniel

Brand new Kodiak Grizzly tent cabin located under a beautiful set of shady oak trees ... use of Eco friendly vegetarian kitchen in the lodge .... No grills, stoves or fires allowed. 2 air mattresses... Queen and Twin.
Under some beautiful shady oak trees !!!
1.5 miles from the Sequoia National Forest and 11.2 miles from Kings Canyon National Park entrance ....
  • Thanks so much to sweet Ronald for sharing his home with us! The air mattresses came with super warm blankets, and with those plus the blankets we brought, we were actually warm in November for the two nights we camped there. He surprised us and made us breakfast. Even though I’m not a dog person, I loved Luna who protected us so sweetly. Definitely recommend to others visiting Sequoia & Kings Canyon.

    Brianna2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I are exchange students in California this year. We have been traveling all over trying to soak it all in! This stay was our favorite so far! It was so nice to be secluded in the mountains with gorgeous views and best of all, THE SWEETEST DOG! Luna, the owner's pup, was the best part! She greeted us right when we arrived and kept us safe during the night! The stay itself was lovely. The porch outside of the tent was the perfect spot for us to enjoy our sunset meal we packed and then play cards, listen to music and just hang out. I had full phone reception as a Verizon user, but my boyfriend who has T-mobile didn't have much luck. But, there was wifi if this is your case! It was easy to find and a beautiful drive up! Tips: It gets COLD during the night! Extra blankets/sleeping bags are necessary. Also there is no city nearby so be ready to escape society and bring games/activities to keep yourself entertained! Overall great stay! We hope to visit again one day! Thanks Ronald!!

  • This place is a nature shrine, it is beautifully decorated by Ronald and you feel so much in contact with nature that it is just amazing. We could have a camping experience with the benefits of a great shower, food and wifi. Because of the location, it has the most astonishing view of the clear sky that I have ever seen, I will gladly stay there again only for this view! Stargazers, this is your place! Thanks for the hospitality, Ronald!

  • If you want to get away from for some real peace and quiet this is the place to be. Luna gave us a wonderful welcome when we arrived and she is such a sweet dog. We stayed in the Cedar Room (trailer) which is very luxurious and private. Great location and easy reach from Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. Ronald's blueberry pancakes are absolutely delicious.

    John2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Ronald was kind enough to welcome us personally when we got there even though we arrived past check in time. Luna, his cute dog was the first to greet us and she was super cute and friendly. Great host as well. We were there for a short period of time and sadly we missed out on the pancake breakfast Ronald hosts in the mornings as we’ve read (bed was comfortable and we slept in too much). Definitely a super nice, private and quiet stay if you’re looking for somewhere to get away. We visited Sequoia and Ronald’s place was easy to find and to get there. Roads can be tricky up there for those not used to mountain driving but it was an enjoyable drive for us . Would love to come back again!!

    Indra2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Ronald was AMAZING ! My friends and I stayed in the trailer and it was by far one of the best experiences ! It was roomy and cozy and Ronald was so attentive, he made us some delicious blueberry banana pancakes that I can’t wait to try again ! His dog Luna is very playful and lovable ! Can’t wait to visit again , I highly recommend, gracias Ronald !

    Allin2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Ronald's camper was a great base for my visit to Kings Canyon & Sequoia. The camper provided a nice private space with all the basic amenities. The heat & the hot water worked great which was imperative in the winter weather. I was able to get to the place with a small FWD car without a problem. I did not experience any movement of the camper as one previous reviewer had noted. Ronald was very hospitable making pancakes, hash browns, and coffee every morning for guests. He was also very accessible to problemsolve or troubleshoot any issues that came up. I'd recommend staying at his camper without hesitation!

    Hassan2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Ronald was a great host and very responsive. We wanted to try the camper out and got to experience it - would try to avoid next time. Stay was fine and expected, only thing was camper shakes quite a bit for us even when no one moving. Probably due to water pump or something. Bed was comfy, a sleep number I found out afterwards.

    Howard2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Ronald was extremely friendly. He responded very quickly and was super helpful. I would definitely stay again.

    Danielle2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great value

    Junior2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We highly recommend a stay with Ronald in his fabulous RV. The RV is spacious , with super comfortable bed and arm chairs a great kitchen with everything you need to rustle up a meal. Everything is spotlessly clean and also a powerful hot shower, we loved it ! We arrived in the dark so did not really know where we were till I swung open the door in the morning to the most spectacular view, breathtaking. Ronald is a charming, friendly and helpful host and we thoroughly enjoyed his delicious pancakes for breakfast and getting to know him over coffee, and last but not least must mention the gorgeous Luna the big friendly German Shepherd who welcomed us enthusiastically on our arrival. A five star experience !!!!

  • Loved my stay at Bradfords place. He was incredible hospitable, gave lots of tips, even looked after my dog while I went out to dinner. Room was nice and clean as well with everything I needed. Quick drive to Sequoia from his place.

    Shane2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Brad’s ranch was the perfect location to explore Kings Canyon National Park when it was a bit too cold to camp. He had great tips about hikes in the area. The space was rustic and contained everything we needed, a bed, bathroom and coffee maker. We had a wonderful stay!

    Jennifer2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Brad's apartment is situated in a rural area of California. However, it is a very good starting point for visits to the Kings & Sequoia National Parks. Since the property is in a very dry and dusty area, it is not perfectly clean. But we found there everything we needed: a quiet place and a comfortable bed. And Brad is a really sympathetic and sociable host. We recommend staying at Brad's apartment especially to outdoor people.

    Mirjam2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Brad was by far one of the best hosts we have had on air BnB. He had a lot of local knowledge helped us plan our trip not only in Sequoia/Kings Canyon but beyond. It's the perfect place for those seeking a quiet secluded setting conveniently located close to the national parks.

    Will2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Bradford's house is rustic and very convenient if your visiting Sequoia or Kings's canyon. It was clean and had good privacy. Would definitely recommend it!

    Uthkarsh2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Brad warned me that I might sleep through my alarm at his place, and he was right! I had a wonderful quiet nights’ sleep here. Bed was comfy and had just what I was looking for. No microwave, but there was a toaster and mini fridge for use. Great jumping off point for Kings Canyon. Brad is super friendly too. Definitely recommend.

    Philip2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a great value. Great for those going into the Park or Forest.

    Oluwatosin2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Everything as described. We did a late check in and left early in the morning, so we didn’t meet Bradford, but he was always reachable on Airbnb messenger and left everything ready for us. I wouldn’t recommend checking in wen ya pitch black cause it can be a bit too dark, but we found our way without much problem. Such a great peaceful place and amazing bed! So close to sequoia national park!

  • Jennifer was a fantastic host and the cabin was lovely! Really glad to have found this place for our weekend stay.

    Tiffany2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful location for a small or large group, very close to Sequoias, and significantly off the beaten path. Jenny is spot-on on communication. The place itself is kind of a very large cabin/house cross with all the amenities you'd expect. A few rough edges shouldn't detract from the awesomeness of the location. Plan to bring everything you want to eat including spices, staples, etc as these are sparse, save ample coffee and marshmallows! We would definitely stay here again.

    Mark2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing house, Jennifer is offering her guests. Had a great stay there.

    Florian2020-02-12T00:00:00Z

  • Adorable, huge rustic cabin in a great location with the most hospitable hosts you’ll ever find! The very first thing I noticed when walking in the door was how CLEAN it was, we have a crawling baby and the huge (clean) carpeted living room was perfect! We will definitely return!

Quiet, cozy, inspiring, art-filled: Fivespot is a relaxing destination for a week or weekend. Perfect for couples or small families, you'll enjoy the sauna and outdoor shower, claw-foot bathtub, and fireplace. Just light a match and enjoy!
Fivespot is just 15 minutes to Kings Canyon - Sequoia National Park in California's spectacular Sierra Nevada. Giant sequoia trees, jaw-dropping Kings Canyon, High Sierra hikes: all yours without the crowds you'd find in Yosemite. The cabin: cute, homey, comfortable, wi-fi, classic book collection, fireplace, sauna, artful tilework, outdoor shower, covered patio, hummingbird feeders, fresh flowers, a quirky, international knick-knack collection, full kitchen, BBQ, laundry. Built in the 1940s, it was completely renovated in 2008. Although Fivespot is most definitely a mountain retreat - it's one hour to the nearest grocery store, one-half hour to the nearest gas station - you won't be alone. We live in the house next door (although your privacy is assured) and can give advice on the best Park trails and experiences. We lived in New York City for many years and know how valuable it is to tap into local expertise, so you can get the most out of your vacation. And you won't be roughing it at Fivespot. It's a clean, comfortable, delightful place that induces a calm and quiet state in almost every guest!
Fivespot is located in Pinehurst, what I would call a settlement more than a town. Mostly there are cabins tucked in and around the slopes and forest. But just down the road from Fivespot is "downtown" Pinehurst: five little cabins right next to each other, and across from the social nexus of the neighborhood, the Pinehurst Lodge. It's fun to walk down the "the Lodge" or "the Pinehurst" (as the locals say), have a beer, eat dinner, watch whatever's on the TV, play tunes on the jukebox (or on the ancient piano), or play pool. There's a deck in the back, a giant fireplace, and an old bar. This building started out as a sawmill in the early 20th century, but has been a restaurant or bar for decades.

  • Really well done peaceful and restful secluded location. Highly recommended for everything.

    Charmaine2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was a magical stay for our family of four. Kids loved the fairytale forest-like bunk bed and the mantle reminded us of the I Spy books, like little worlds of their own. This space feels like a personal reflection of the owners...only the best Airbnbs are authentic in this way. Old books, back issues of The New Yorker, board games, an enormous, old-fashioned fireplace, lots of cozy chairs and pillows, good lighting. Comfortable: a stylish couch, a good mattress and bedding. Also, the spacious, heated bathroom with clawfoot bathtub, bookshelves, skylight, and custom tilework felt luxurious. Very quiet, peaceful setting. Easy 14 minutes drive to the Big Stump entrance to Kings Canyon/Sequoia. We were there specifically to play in the snow, and were happy to find several snow play parks easily accessible--Grant Grove, Big Stump, Quail Flat, and, best and furthest away, Big Meadow.

  • The cabin is really cozy and clean. Everyone of our family loves this place. The highlights are fireplace and bunk bed. The location is convenient to the park. We got everything and any information we need, just like stay at home.We had a wonderful stay. We will come back again.

  • A beautiful artistic clean cabin full of amazing art. The sauna is a fun way to relax or start a fire in the fire place. They provide everything you may need from food spices to fire wood to shampoo. Less than 30 minutes to the park entrance!

  • A cool little place. Big fireplace.

  • Mahalia was a wonderful host. She welcomed us when we got there and showed us everything we needed to know. She gave us a lot of useful tips about the area. The location was excellent for going to the national parks as it was only a short drive from King's Canyon NP, and from there you can easily drive to Sequoia NP. The cottage was very cozy and clean, it had a lot of little detailed touches that made us feel at home. The place was remarkably clean. The sauna was amazing, especially after a full day hike through the parks. Just as Mahalia advised us, we got all the groceries in Visalia before driving into the mountains. If you are not in the mood for cooking, there is a great local pub just down the road from Mahalia's house. They make excellent burgers and onion rings. Definitely make sure you have a full tank of gas before you get off the main roads! We learned that our tiny economy car was using way more gas driving up the mountain than it did on the highway. We were absolutely in love with the place and would definitely stay here again!

This 1950 cabin is in a secluded location in the town of Pinehurst, Ca. and is decorated in a mid-century style. It is rustic, but comfortable, and a great place to disconnect from the regular day to day. The Pinehurst Lodge, five minutes away, is open daily, with full restaurant and bar. Twenty minutes away by car is entrance to Kings Canyon National Park, gateway to Grant's Tree, Cedar Grove, and the Giant Sequoia Forest.
The master bedroom is downstairs, and has a 1965 Broyhill bedroom set with a full size bed. The bathroom, with the original clawfoot tub is off the bedroom. There are 2 rooms upstairs with peaked 8 foot ceilings, one is another bedroom with two antique twin beds. The large fireplace is located in the center of the main room, and is the main source of heat in the cabin. The kitchen is fully functional, with an adjacent dining area and small pantry. There is a large outside deck with a charcoal barbecue for outdoor eating.
The Pinehurst Lodge is a one hundred year old restaurant and bar open seven days a week, and is a great place for folks who enjoy eating out. You are also close to Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks, both of which have some world famous sights, as well as all sorts of outdoor activities.
  • We loved staying at Tim's cabin. It was exactly what we were looking for, a private cabin out in the woods nearby the national parks. We arrived at night and were so excited the next morning to see the beautiful location of the cabin! And it's far enough from the cities that you can see the stars perfectly at night. The cabin was so cozy, kept warm by the buck stove, clean, and had all needed amenities. And Tim was a great host, so accommodating and caring; he was very communicative, making sure we knew how to get to the cabin and that our check-in and check-out went smoothly. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a great weekend, Tim!

    Burcu2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you! Thank you! Everything was perfect. Tim’s communication was excellent. The locals were wonderful and we definitely want to return for more adventures in California and hope we can use Tim’s cabin again!

    Mike And Laura2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying in Tim's cabin! Communication with him was great, he was very helpful with directions and check in. The cabin is very cosy and we liked the seclusion and quietness. The location of the cabin is great for exploring the National Parks.

    Lena2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Tim was great about communicating with us and walking us through the check in process. The location of the cabin was gorgeous.

    Casey2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • If ten stars were an option, they would be given to Tim's cabin! Nearly all odds seemed to want to make our trip difficult, namely the two feet of snow that fell over the area our first night. Every step of the way - making sure we had firewood, clear communication when PG&E temporarily cut off power, checking in to see if we were comfortable and warm - Tim was there! So were some folks up at the Pinehurst Lodge who helped us get our car onto the (surprisingly well kept!) roads. The solemnity of the place...truly unmatched. What a unique place!

    Mickey2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Time cabin is the perfect cabin in the woods for getting away from it all. Very close to all state parks which makes it super convenient.

    Kimberly2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • This cute cabin had everything you need for the weekend. We cooked all our meals at home and went out to explore the outdoors in the day time. Super close to the 2 parks. Tim had wood for us for the fire place cut and ready to go. Time should us the place so that we would know e in and out of the house without any issues. The house was very cozy. We will come visit again!

    Danny2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Tim takes great pride in his cabin and makes sure you are well received. We enjoyed his artwork and furniture as an unexpected bonus. All was sparkling clean and well stocked, including firewood. Being close to the Pinehurst Lodge was an added bonus. Somehow Tim arranged for about 6 deer to visit us at the cabin on our last morning...Thanks Tim!

    Kenneth2018-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Bryon upgraded my boyfriend and I to one of the houses on the resort which was totally awesome!! The suite wouldn’t have been as private as the house we stayed in. We stayed in house 2, a studio. Super modern and comfortable. It had everything we needed! The area is very outdoor/camp like, however you cannot just let your dog chill outside which was a bit unfortunate since we had to have him inside the whole time (thank goodness we were upgraded to house 2, I don’t think the suite would’ve been as comfortable for our dog, house 2 had a front yard & balcony in the back). If you choose this place, DO NOT forget to pack anything! We forgot toothpaste & there’s nothing around, we had to drive down to lemon grove where the last gas station is at. Other than nothing being around, it was an awesome stay. Very quiet, calm, private and a close to nature vibe.

  • The suite is located on a very quiet, peaceful lot about 30-45 minutes away from the King's Canyon NP entrance. The suite is very cozy and perfect for a couples getaway. There were a few bugs, but that's expected from where the suite is located. Bryon was very quick with replying to my questions and was very helpful. My girlfriend and I look forward to coming back here soon.

Ronald was an extraordinary host, friendly, helpful, caring and a pleasant company, plus great pancakes. I would reccomend this Air bnb for everyone and would give six stars if I could.

  • Half by mistake, we got to be the first Airbnb guests hosted by “Shreddy” the ex-pro hockey player and skateboarder in his hidden house in squaw valley. What luck! Getting there was a little strenuous after a long windy drive in the dark but we were immediately blown away when we were welcomed by a star littered sky, a happy fire pit, and shreddy himself who’s as happy to see us as we were relieved to find him. We marveled at his Hollywood and family stories by the fire and under the stars. From him we also got a sense of a strong small town community. We went to a nearby restaurant for dinner at shreddy’s recommendation but was told the kitchen was already closed. Seeing us two out of towners cold and starving somehow the kitchen changed their mind and miraculously whipped up the best pork chops I have had in a while. Life savers. What’s the chance your Airbnb host is also the first person to teach you skateboard? I hope we have made a lasting friend that we could count on returning to.

  • A neat place to stay on the way up to the park! Brad was an excellent host. If we are in the area, we will definitely stay there again and take the trail through his lovely property. *Bonus: Very cute dogs!

  • I had a great stay at Brad’s place. The location was great and he even took me in a hike one day out to a place that I wouldn’t have normally gone on my own. It was very laid back and relaxing and he didn’t mind my dog running around in his property. I would definitely recommend his place. Also of note, the area was very safe for a solo female traveler.

This property was recently remodeled and is located close to the Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park entrance. • A sweet little cabin that was the perfect little get away for our family. We are Thankful we found it! Cheyenne is an Exceptional Host!!

    Amber2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic spot with everything you need for your stay. The lights inside were a bit too bright, but otherwise it was a really nice cozy cabin. My family and I loved it.

    Lily2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Cheyenne’s cabin was immaculately cleaned and newly renovated with nice furnishings and brand new carpets. It is definitely located off the beaten path a bit and feels nice and secluded but still in a neighborhood with surrounding neighbors. I loved how close it was to the entrance to King’s National Park, which was the reason for our visit. Super cozy cuddling up by the wood stove after a long day exploring the park. We will definitely return next time we plan on visiting the parks!

    Kristen2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • This newly renovated cute cabin is conveniently located near (20 minutes) the entrance of Kings Canyon National Park. It was perfect for our family of four. It has everything you need for home style cooking. Cheyenne keeps it spotlessly clean and that gave a peace of mind while staying. The deck and the large yard provided some spaces for the kids to explore. Despite the narrow drive way I was able to park our mini van right in front of the house. We enjoy our stay very much and recommend it to any family of four.

  • Cheyenne was a great host and the cabin is very well equipped with all the necessary kitchen equipment. The night before our stay, it snowed over two feet. Cheyenne has a path cleared for us in the snow and left shovel and firewood for us to use. The fireplace and the kitchen came in handy for us to spend the following day indoors. It was a beautiful stay!

  • Perfect place to stay if you're planning a visit in Kings Canyon, whether you're a couple or a family with both big and little ones. The owner has thought of everything. The kitchen was equipped with all the tools we needed to make nightly meals, the bedrooms had plenty of pillows and blankets. There is a washer and dryer which was very helpful too. We came in the winter so nights got really cold, but there is a wood burning fireplace that once you get going warms the house up pretty well. There are also warming blankets in each bed. The property is fun to explore and there are some very lovely neighbors. We have Tmobile so there was no cell service, but there was wi-fi so we still had access to the internet to plan our hikes, get info and download all our maps. There were many books, games and movies to keep us more than occupied in addition to cable TV when we were not out adventuring. This is a great place and we hope to come back again!

  • Wonderful, clean, cozy house convenient to King’s canyon/sequoia parks. Beds are very comfortable. Fireplace and well stocked woodpile easily keep the cabin warm ... even with the fire out, bed linens were thoughtfully layered for warmth. We had everything we needed for cooking meals, including a few available condiments and other basics that are easy to forget. We enjoyed it so much that we requested to stay an extra night and Janie was flexible and responsive throughout our communication. I would return as well as recommend. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!

  • Awesome location - only 35 minutes to the valley. Great communication and really fast - everything i asked was answered immediately. And we really loved the place - great atmosphere, had everything you need and even more! Toys for kids, water bottles and fireplace that we used to heat the house. Thank you, will definitely return on next occasion!

Two bedrooms, one bath. And a tiny bedroom for fun. Full kitchen, cozy living room. Laundry. BBQ. Garden patio. Only 20 minutes to Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park. Or stick close to the cabin all day and have a real vacation. Find your here here.
Do you like to read real books? How about play a real piano? Jenga, puzzles, Monopoly? Cook lunch and wash up, just like the old days? That's Merrynook - old fashioned yet relaxing. But don't worry, we've got Wi-Fi too.
Merrynook is located in Pinehurst, what I would call a settlement more than a town. Mostly there are cabins tucked in and around the slopes and forest. But just down the road from Merrynook is "downtown" Pinehurst: five little cabins right next to each other, and across from the social nexus of the neighborhood, the Pinehurst Lodge.
  • Mahalia's place is a true treasure. It is a warm and comfortable cabin filled with character, soul, and special touches, including a wood burning stove, clawfoot tub, and full kitchen complete with hot chocolate mix. Located in the foothills of the Sierras, numerous outdoor recreational opportunities are moments away. Mahalia is very kind and responsive, making communication and coordination easy. I highly recommend enjoying a stay at Merrynook!

  • What a great place to stay! Quaint, comfortable and lovingly furnished. Pure relaxation and relaxation. We really enjoyed the stay!

  • This a great little mountain house with lots of person touches. We enjoyed just looking around at all the fine touches that have gone into this home. The porch is fantastic, and we enjoyed the hummingbirds with our morning coffee. Very cozy, and we would definitely stay here again.

  • We have been 3 days in this nice house. The house is furnished with so much love and charm. Maybe the only flaw is that it is very ringhörig. The owner is a very nice warmhearted and helpful woman. She helped us in a very difficult situation, for which we are very grateful! Also 2 cats come regularly visit. The location of the house is great, with quick access to kings canyon and sequoia. We can only recommend the house and would definitely come back.

  • This vacation home is easy to find and it has a lot of flat areas for the kinds to run around. The check-in instructions were clear and simple and we had no problem letting ourselves in when we arrived at night. It has pretty much everything we need in the kitchen to cook some simple home style meals. And, the central forced air heater is definitely a big plus in the chilling night in February.

  • Thelma’s home is super cozy and we had an amazing stay! Make sure to check the local routes as google maps wasn’t right when we tried to get to the national parks but the home is a nice 30-40 mins away from the entrance to Kings Canyon. Definitely would visit again!

  • Very nice and clean

    Giora2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, super quiet and peaceful. Thelma was very accommodating on short notice. Good getaway place for a weekend that is pretty close to the nearby National Parks. I would definitely recommend staying here.

  • Here is nature world. I watched wild fox, cats etc.. good house, good host!

  • Nice spot close to Kings Canyon and Sequoia. We enjoyed all the local fauna- lots of wild turkeys! Highly recommend hanging out in the lookout spot behind the house. There are great views during the day and of the sky at night! (You won't be able to see the stars otherwise because of the security lights. But venture just beyond them and it's great!)

    Kara2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice clean and quiet house

    Yang2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Thelma's place was a nice proximity between Yosemite and Kings Canyon/Sequoia. There were some nice amenities available and plenty of items to cook with. The kitchen could use a spritzing but guests should have about everything they need. The mattresses were a bit squeaky but sleepable and the shower head height will be uncomfortably low for anyone over 5'6". The location is cozy in the woodland uphills and the proximity to Kings Canyon highlights the value. Directions/entry instructions were straight forward and clear. Thank you!

We built Sweet Oaks to be a special place in the mountains for our family. The house is handcrafted for comfort and built with huge beams and wood harvested from the property. Every window frames a unique foothills scene, without roads or neighbors. Kids will enjoy exploring the outdoors or playing with the toys and books indoors. You may choose to visit the National Parks - but if you’re on vacation, you’ll want to take at least a day with no driving or crowds and relax here.
Sweet Oaks is arranged for family life: kids at one end of the house, grownups at the other, and spacious kitchen, living room, and playroom in between. When you arrive, the kitchen is ready for cooking, and the kids can be turned loose indoors or out. Privacy and security are ensured by a locked gate and a 3/4 mile long forest road for a driveway (suggested to drive carefully, but we do fine in a Civic). You can go weeks without seeing another person or motor vehicle. Electricity comes from solar and wind power, Heat and cooling are from a wood stove and passive solar design. Big Ponderosa Pine, Incense Cedar, and many kinds of oak provide shade and interesting outdoor spaces. A grape arbor, porches, and lawns provide a mix of sun and shade during the day, and an outdoor campfire ring is available at night for roasting hot dogs or marshmallows. Three fenced acres around the house hold young fruit trees, grapevines, a chicken coop for fresh eggs, and wild blackberries. During spring and early summer there is a kid-friendly wading hole in the creek that runs through the property. There’s a piano and ukulele if you’re interested in making music. Several desks and tables provide space for other creative activities. Some of our favorite books are on the shelves. Whether Native Americans camping here, Hudson Barton homesteading here in the 1860’s, or railway outlaws Sontag and Evans hiding in Fort Defiance nearby, Sweet Oaks has been loved by many for a long time. Come find out why!
Catie And David’s home is located in Badger, California, United States. Hartland and Badger are both about 5 miles away; Pinehurst is about 10 miles.
  • This place is amazing. We loved our stay and the hosts were very friendly, super responsive, and helpful with suggestions and advice for activities in Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. The place is clean as a whistle and off the grid. A very nice place to get away for a while. We would definitely like to return sometime.

  • Charming and a great place to disconnect from the hectic life. Fresh fruit and eggs!

    Sara2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Catie and David might be the best Airbnb hosts we've ever had. Everything was crystal clear and the house was perfect. We drove into King's Canyon twice during our three day stay and had a ton of fun at home, too. HIGHLY recommended!

    Derek2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay, communication with the owners was quick and helpful. Enjoyed sitting out under the stars on the patio with just nature around us and kids enjoyed exploring and picking some fruit that was in season and collecting a few eggs from the chickens!

    Daniel2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! Our reservation was for 2 families with small children, and this place did not disappoint. The kids loved tending to the chickens, playing with the toys, playing with the instruments, and admiring the book and movie collections. David was more than helpful with supplying a suggested itinerary, including different options, and posed some important questions that I did not think of when I was attempting to figure out our to-do list on my own. Catie was gracious enough to check in on us before we checked out, and is very knowledgeable of the area as well. So much love and thoughtfulness was put into making this property as special as it is. We will gladly return to the property again.

  • We had a wonderful time at Sweet Oaks. The location is remote but that is what makes it the perfect serene vacation home!

  • Very well located , very clean and comfortable stay . Right in the middle of forest and close to the park (approx 30-35 min). Only constructive feedback on the kitchen utensils specially the non stick pans that were totally worn out and were not healthy for cooking . Need to be replaced . Everything else perfect

We invite you to stay at our historic Inn located on the edge of Kings Canyon & Sequoia National Park! After a long day of mountain adventuring, what could be better than a good nights rest and a home-cooked meal? Maybe even a cold beer to top it off! Come enjoy the vibe at the world-famous Gena's Sierra Inn with restaurant on site. Room 1: This particular space is perfect for a family or group of travelers, offering a double bed and a set of twin bunks. Cozy, lodge-style furnishings.
This sweet roadside Inn, nestled in the heart of the Sierra foothills, has been "home" to travelers from all over the world. Gena and her crew treat all of our guests like family, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
  • Awesome place. I recommend to anyone visiting the area. Be careful about the maps (google, apple or waze) look for the "Inn" sign and you will not miss.

  • Great place to stay to be near the national parks

    Sergio2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and value for a weekend trip to Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks. It's about 1 hour from Lodgepole Visitor Center (Sequoia) and 30 min from Kings Canyon Visitor Center (Kings Canyon). The room had all the amenities we needed for our short stay and the beds were comfortable (on the firm side). We didn't eat at the restaurant next door but I'm glad we had the option to!

    Queenie2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Gena's Inn is the perfect place to stay if you want to venture into Sequoia and Kings Canyon national parks! We only needed a place to sleep at night, but were pleasantly surprised to be able to eat at her restaurant which serves amazing food! Highly recommend the salmon and the pasta! The check-in process was a breeze, we had designated parking in front and they let us fill our hydration packs at the restaurant. One thing to be aware - google maps is a little inaccurate when you type in the address. Just look for the Inn on the road.

    Subhamoy2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely "quirky", but would recommend! Bathroom is split between a 1/2 bath in one small room, and a shower with changing area on opposite side of the wall. Beds are definitely on the firm side, but for me at least the large bed was still soft enough for me to sleep comfortably on my side. We had some car trouble en route, putting us at the Inn much later than intended, but after a quick message to our host we were given our room door code so we could get right in when we arrived (after check-in hours), which we very much appreciated. We only stayed one night, but it was perfect for what we were looking for, very close to King's Canyon/Sequoia, and much easier on the wallet than any other place nearby. Basic - just a dresser, beds, and I think a small bench, but clean and comfortable. Perfect for we needed. We noticed a small kids play area just outside which we didn't have a chance to utilize but definitely would have had we gotten in on time. We grabbed breakfast burritos on our way out in the morning, which were delicious. Pictures of the room were very accurate - we enjoyed our stay!

    Emily2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay before entering Sequoia Kings Canyon. WIFI is a little challenging at times but overall the place is comfortable, cute and the restaurant is delicious too. Would stay here again!

    Christopher2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, right at the entrance of the park, lovely atmosphere at night having some drinks while seeing sunset from their restaurant. Special thank to Chris, who was lovely and gave us lots of tips for our trip.

    Teresa & William2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We were delightfully surprised by our experience here. Friendly hostess who gave us helpful tips about the area and treated us like friends. The food at the restaurant was superb (breakfast and dinner) and very reasonably priced. Gena is the sole proprietor and does a fantastic job with her business. Highly recommend this little jewel.

Lake Vista, is a cozy cabin nestled in the beautiful forest, just minutes from the Kings-Canyon National Park, entrance. The cabin has a wonderful view of amazing pines, a peak-a-view of Sequoia Lake, and the city lights, from the terrace. Lake Vista is perfect for four people to just get away from it all and enjoy the scenery with a glass of wine at hand and peace at mind. The cabin is also just minutes from great hiking trails and the beautiful Hitchcock Meadow.
The cabin has a kitchenette. There is no stove or oven, however it is equipped with a hot plate, tea kettle, coffee pot, microwaves, and a small fridge. There is also a kitchen sink.
There is a hiking trail right off of the driveway. The trail goes to Hitchcock Meadow and there is so much to see along the way. The most amazing to see are the large stumps left behind by loggers from the 1880s.
  • Great place. Would stay again

  • A great cabin in the woods with extraordinary sunsets from the balcony. It’s really conveniently located 1.5 miles from the Kings Canyon/Sequoia National Park entrance. Jennifer is a wonderful host.

    Neil2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • I was looking for a place to reside as I spent several days exploring the Sequoia/King's Canyon National Parks in the area. Due to the limited options available, I was excited when I found this location and was incredibly happy with my experience. As you can tell from the map of the park, it covers an extremely large area especially from the very North end of the park to the very South end of the park. After planning out my trip, I knew I wanted to be near the middle of the park to limit the amount of driving. This Airbnb is conveniently located within a couple of miles of the Big Stump park entrance and within a few miles of Grant Grove Village. It put most of the sights in the park within a 2 hour drive. In addition, there was a bonus surprise regarding the incredible views from the AirBnb. From the balcony, you have fantastic views overlooking the valley which are spectacular during the sunsets. Lastly, the hosts were incredibly gracious with their attentiveness, communication, and willingness to help. This is truly a gem if you are looking to spend sometime enjoying the parks or looking to get some isolation.

    Nimai2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer was an awesome host. Our stay was pretty cool. The cabin was perfect and the view was spectacular. The sunsets were amazing. It was a beautifully decorated home with all the amenities. The cabin was close to the Sequoia camp grounds and trails and Hume Lake. Jennifer was very prompt in replying to my emails and any questions I had about our stay. She made our little get-away special. We will definitely be coming back. Fondly, Ramona Barron & Family

This bright and airy hideaway is perfect for guests looking to get away from the hustle & bustle of the city and enjoy what the mountains have to offer. This home is child and pet friendly, offering many amenities to keep them all happy. --Playhouse w/lots for kids to do ( --Geocaches all over the property (all ages) --Dog beds --Horse corral --Large yard fully fenced w/no climb fencing --Hiking trails Any issues? No worries, the host lives nextdoor! (as "nextdoor" as 5 acres allows!).
This hideaway is only 10 minutes from Hwy 180 and is kid and pet friendly. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, dishes, herbs and spices to prepare & serve your own meals. The living room features a gas fireplace that turns on with and adjusts with a remote (no need to be a girl scout/boy scout to start this fireplace!) The master has it's own private bathroom with unique rock wall shower and small deck to enjoy the sunrise on. The guest rooms have a shared bathroom with shower-tub combo. The bathrooms are fully stocked with bathroom essentials (towels, makeup remover wipes, toilet paper, shampoo & conditioner, and hand & body soap). We have all the amenities you might need for a trip with kids too! Pack & Play with infant attachments, high chair, "BOB" stroller (single child) with Chico carseat attachment and much more (see photos). As for the property itself, it is quite mountainous. There are great trails to hike all over the property and you will often find all sorts of wildlife! We have year-round wild turkeys that roam the area (don't worry, none are aggressive), and in the warmer months have seen a snake or two, so keep your eyes open and scanning where you are headed when exploring on the property.
We have an amazing little community with a few little gems you won't want to miss! Clingan's Junction coffee shop features delicious coffee and home-baked goodies! Our favorites are the home made cinnamon rolls, scones or avocado sandwich. Seasonally, you can visit the Sierra Peaks Winery to taste their amazing Huitaca wines. From Mouvedre to Carmenere they blazed the trail to make our community our very own wine region (Squaw Valley-Miramonte Viticultural Area). In their off season, you can still buy a bottle of wine from them! They deliver to the house! You also may not want to miss a visit to the Project Survival Cat Haven. It is a quick 15 minute drive away and is home to many large exotic cats.

Peaceful retreat home situated on 10 acres among the black oaks in the Sierra Nevada foothills at 4000 feet elevation. You are renting a vast private outdoor space, not just a suite of rooms. This property has spectacular views of the mountains, near Pinehurst, Badger, and the Grant Grove entrance to Kings Canyon National Park. An ideal stargazing and astronomy rental, bring your own telescope or binoculars. The house is 1100 square feet plus a large covered front deck.
Low enough to be free of snow nearly the entire year, but high enough to be above the haze and smoke of the San Joaquin Valley, guests will enjoy a mild climate and uncrowded surroundings. Functional and spacious but definitely not 'cutesy', with a wood stove, central propane heat, evaporative cooler, full kitchen, laundry room, large covered deck, outdoor patio areas, and plenty of peace and privacy are among the many amenities. This is a house in the mountains that during certain times of the year there are mice inside and outside.
--10 acres adjacent to Giant Sequoia National Monument, native vegetation including 100 foot tall black oaks --A ridgetop site with a sweeping south facing view --Easy access to Forest Service roads for hiking and horseback riding into the Monument --20 minute drive to Grant Grove, Kings Canyon National Park --45 minute drive to Hume Lake or Montecito Sequoia Resort --Paved highway to the property, 500 foot graded driveway, parking for up to 6 vehicles + horse trailers

  • I needed a place to crash before heading into Sequoia and King’s Canyon National Park and Juanita’s place was perfect for that. Juanita was so welcoming and warm, and her space was homey and inviting. It was perfectly situated less than half an hour outside the parks in a wonderfully quiet area that felt very away from everything. It was just what I needed!

  • The house may not be very large, but the love that inhabits it makes you feel like you are staying in a palace. I loved the Prayer Room and Sunshine bends over backwards, in so many ways to make you not only feel welcome, but like an old friend.

    Kristen2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, almost feels like a museum! Well maintained by Juanita and she is an excellent host!

    Abhiram2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Juanita was such a kind and generous host! She made delicious hot breakfasts each morning with smoothies for early 'on the go ' mornings and even pomegranate fresh from her yard! She provided us with maps of the nearby national parks and was very prompt to respond to my questions when I was on the road site seeing. She informed us about local events and we got a taste of the local flavor going to a local festival with food and music. She was a wonderful compassionate host offering good healthy ideas for food and juice when my partner was not feeling well. We would definitely stay with Juanita again and recommend her highly !

  • Juanita's house is a wonderful place to visit. She is kind and welcoming, and provides a unique and pleasant way to visit a lovely part of the Sequoia National Park. If you are interested in staying with a wonderful local resident while experiencing this beautiful region, you should consider staying here.

  • So you’ve already been drawn by the pictures and descriptions, but the true draw is sharing presence and space with Sunshine. She’s so welcoming, warm and sweet. We enjoyed many conversations with her while staying in her home. She generously shared special brews of tea, food and fresh fruits with us. She also gave us a lot of great suggestions on places of interest we had in the park as well. Her home is a 30 minute drive to the entrance of the park. My partner and I don’t eat meat so it was convenient for us to be able to bring some provisions to prepare meals since options are limited in the park. Definitely pick some stuff up on your way there!

  • Was at Rainbow's for a short time. She was very kind to offer food and I had a good sleep. As a solo female traveler I felt safe here.

    Casey2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Juanita's place is awesome and she is a wonderful host. The directions were very helpful to reach the place. She was very kind to offer us food since the closest restaurant was closed. The place is very quiet, we had delightful conversations with Juanita and took quite a few pictures. I would definitely recommend her place to anyone visiting Kings Canyon National Park.

  • Ron is really a nice guy and his place is sweet. In a rustic rural setting in the foothills, his space feels like a little oasis with aviaries, an aquarium, and colorful murals evocative of nature. I enjoyed speaking with Ron and socializing with the other guests as well as the pancake breakfast with yummy peaches from his tree! His friendly dog accompanied us on a local walk running along a creek. Great place to rest up before heading to Sequoia King Canyon. Thanks Ron!

  • As described- easy to stay w great communication. Amazing breakfast nearby at Clinghans!

  • Perfect place on our way to Sequoia National Park! Thank you!

    Simona2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Gena's place is all you need before attacking the day in Sequoia Park and pay your respects to General Sherman. It ain't the Marriott, so hipsters go away. It's an authentic place with character and grit, nonetheless offering all amenities with your own bathroom, ceiling fan, TV, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Loved by the locals, you will certainly meet a handful of them at the bar restaurant when you go there for breakfast pancakes in the morning or a burger and a cold one in the evening. If you stay at Gena's, you'll get a real feel of America 's countryside and it's people's hospitality! If I'm lucky enough to come back to these parts again, I'll get myself a room at Gena's.

Beautiful horse ranch in the small town of Dunlap, near Kings Canyon and the Sequoia National Forest. Come relax in the gorgeous scenery.
  • Thank you so much for sharing your home with us Chelsea! Tina was super responsive and made sure we had a comfortable stay!! Our boys loved watching the farm animals! Great location to visit Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park with a grocery store and restaurant minutes from the home.

    Murali2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for privacy and a fully contained home, this is it - close to Sequoia National Forrest, quiet and a must to try the restaurant/grill a short mile away for a delicious and wholesome meal. Unless you want to enjoy the convenience of the well appointed kitchen. Three king size beds are just what a tired body needs after an enjoyable day in the forest.

    Pierre2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The ranch house is an awesome place to get in touch with friendly animals and also a great place just to hang out!

  • Chelsea’s ranch was amazingly immaculate with the great finishing touches she has decorated her beautiful ranch with. Not only was the home “Very Welcoming” but the ranch itself outside was huge - with all the different friendly farm animals. Chelsea was even generous enough to leave us some “farm fresh eggs” upon our arrival in the fridge, which we had for breakfast. Communication with Tina was quick in response throughout my stay. Thank you so much Chelsea/Tina for being such an awesome & super host during our stay - hope to return again soon!!

You are in serenity to settle your breath and your heart. Ten minutes away is a fork into Sequoia or Kings Canyon (must see) National Park. Both provide the Giant Trees, caves, varieties of hikes and fishing locations. Or simply a walk from the cabin
As given by guests, a five star property for a good reason and a great place to stay. The cabin is as described, and the bonus is an amazing western view from the mountains. Sitting comfortably on the deck provides a beautiful arrangement of colors in the setting sun. Set on a mountain slope, the cabin at 4200 ft looking out into the westward terrain. You want peace and quiet: a road less traveled passes the cabin and for the early riser, get a cup of coffee and enjoy yourself on the deck or take a nice walk on a road less traveled (Hogback Rd.) for a scenic view. Fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. When you arrive late and hungry and tired, there is a Belgium waffle maker on the kitchen counter. In the pantry under the stairway, there is waffle mix [THERE IS OIL BUT NEED EGGS] and syrup. In the refrigerator, there are sticks of butter and various condiments. Mixing bowls, spatulas, utensils, and plates are provided in the kitchen drawers and cupboards. And of course the necessary can opener and a crockpot. In addition, on the back porch, is a three burner propane barbecue. I sear various red meat, turning both sides at least twice to get grill marks. Then I put the meat on a cookie sheet over a low fire above the middle burner. The outer burners produce the high indirect heat. Helps to clean for the next Grill Master. [Costco has great tri tip roast. Remember to marinate the roast and other meats over night. Yummy] There is no Starbucks. No worries though! There is a Keurig waiting for you who can't survive without coffee. If you desire a cup of coffee, there is a Keurig on the counter with coffee pods and creamers in the drawer below. Those of you who brought your favorite coffee beans, just look in the cupboard to the right of the sink. A quick look to find a grinder and a French Press. Also, on the counter, is a electric teapot for the hot water. Let’s not leave out other necessary wishes: WIFI and VCR. There is already a collection of DVDs. This is a cozy cabin, well-equipped and well maintained. It is very private and cozy, so perfect for your vacation. You will enjoy sunset and color changes in the sky so beautiful and the night skies are also amazing. The front yard is big enough to play ball, and you should even bring and set up badminton net and play. The cabin provides comfortable beds with comforters, multiple pillows, nice linen and nice towels after a hot shower or enjoying a bubble bath. There is a laundry hamper in the upstairs bathroom and the downstairs closet across from the pantry. (Please put used linen and towels in the hampers at the end of your visit) If you are looking for additional trash bags, on the dining table side of the stove counter, there is a low level storage door containing trash bags. Outside, inside the fence, are two sanitation containers for trash and recycle. Thank you for using them. We look forward to suggestions that would enhance your experience.
  • The house was great. It’s an upscale cabin with modern amenities (dish washer, ceiling fans, etc.). It was very clean and basic food supplies provided (cooking oil, coffee, etc.). We went in the middle of winter so it was very cold outside and the only method to warm up the house was the wood-burning stove but there was plenty of wood to keep the fire going. If you’re looking to get away from a busy life this is a great place.

    Whitney2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is an impeccably clean and cozy cabin very close to Kings Canyon entrance. Although snow was on the ground when we arrived, no snow fell the 2 days we spent at the cabin. Thus, getting around was easy and safe. However, would definitely bring my snowshoes next winter visit because the snow in the Park was perfect for a trek!

    Jenny2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin and excellent location.

    Teresa2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay if you’re visiting King’s Canyon. Bring chains if it’s snowy. All the previously written reviews were pretty accurate. If you like peace & quiet, comfort, and a place spend “family time”, this is the place for you. Don’t bring board games, Michael provides those too!

    Melvin2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • OMFG Michael is amazing. His tips and knowledge of the area were just so helpful and great, especially given that this area is so secluded. We were first timers and his tips were very helpful. The place is breathtaking. Your view of the area is worth the price alone. The cabin is so precious and feels loved. While it doesn't have the Internet too well, it makes up for with great movies and just the opportunity to bond with the people you travel to this magical place with on your trip. Also, FYI, they have a crock-pot, so perfect. The waffle maker is amazing and there is ready made supplies for you. I cannot express how wonderful this location is for anyone wanting a picturesque "trip to the mountains". 15 minutes from King's Canyon? You betcha! You just cannot beat the pristine perfection that is Michael's place. His hosting is out of this world and worth more than any map or brochure could hope to give you.

    Chris2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice cabin an hour or so from main attractions in park. Michael was an amazing host and accommodated us in every way. We even extended our stay an extra night.

    Dane2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • House was clean and well stocked with anything you could need. Like a home someone lives in. Comfortable beds and commons areas. Both bedrooms are on the second floor and there is a stairway to get to the house from the driveway- something to note it you are traveling with anyone who has trouble with stairs. But other than that the place was very comfortable, great location to Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon. Everything worked in the house, it was a great place that I would visit again. Thanks Michael!

    Rebecca2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our visit to the heavenly retreat. The house has everything you could possibly need for a great vacation and the location near the parks was ideal. The description in the listing is spot on and Michael was quick to answer any questions we had. The whole transaction was super smooth and easy, directions were clear, and everything was ready for us as described. Michael provided us with great suggestions on things to do, where to eat etc., his communications were super. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks!

  • This Badger lodge was very private and clean - check in and check out were both very seamless! The lake behind the house was also beautiful - the patio overlooks the lake and is a great place to dine and unwind. The office conveniently offers water and snacks. Badger is a very convenient location to stay if visiting Sequoia National Park/King’s Canyon. It’s situated right in between Visalia and the Park. Thank you Bryon for accommodating this amazing weekend!
