  • Sally and John have built the most wonderful home. Our every need was catered for; from lovely soft towels, shower gel, hairdryer, welcome wine , to the outstanding private spa and hot tub, robes and slippers. We enjoyed a film in the Cinema room, with a lovely log burner and reclining sofas ! Nothing was too much trouble! Breakfast, provided by Sally, was fabulous , and enjoyed in the stunning kitchen and dining area! We went for a 24 hour relaxing break, and could have stayed quite happily for a month!!! We will most certainly return to this wonderful place with such warm, welcoming hosts!

  • Me and a couple of my friends were looking to get away for a night of relaxation and luxury and Sally’s home ticked all our boxes. Very easy to organise our trip and communicate with Sally and the home itself was incredible! She was such an accommodating host and made sure we had a wonderful night. We particularly loved the spa and cinema room! Would definitely return for another stay.

  • Orchid House is just stunning. Sally and her family have created wonderful airbnb accommodation, with many lovely touches and beautifully decorated throughout. My daughter and I stayed for one night during a bit of quality time away together. The facilities on offer - the cinema room in particular, were just what we needed to enjoy some time out and relaxation. Sally recommended The Courthouse in Kinross and we had a lovely evening meal there. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

    Tina2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • I've stayed in several AirBnB's as I travel a lot with my work and can honestly say this has been the best one ever. If you find yourself in Scotland and can travel from the Carnbo area then this a must stay. Sally and John are just the most wonderful hosts and so friendly - nothing is too much trouble. The accommodation is just beautiful and it's a no brainer in my opinion, so stay here if you can!

Beautifully decorated, clean, included towels, hand soap etc (which is always a pain to pack when youve an already full car) and Kim had left such lovely welcome goodies too. • That’s a very nice view I like the place and I really dad a good time with my girlfriend we enjoy it , and I really want to thank you!!

    Daniel2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for going out of your way to make way for us ( literally) . Our 10 year old car made it to the top. The place was amazing. Unlimited view of beautiful grounds and mountains covered with snow, unlimited view of the sky filled with stars and awe inspiring moonrise. You could have cancelled our reservation as it will too much of a hassle to prepare the place because of the snow. Thank you very much.

    Bethany2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a relaxing night away from the noise of life in this lovely accommodation. It really is off the grid with little to no signal which was exactly what we were after! The storm added to the get away, hearing the rain on the roof and watching it cross the valley in the morning was so beautiful. The cabin itself is really cosy and has everything you need. Only an hour or so from home, we definitely will be back to escape again soon! We had a nosey at the new hut with the bunk bed room too which is perfect if you want to take the kids!

    Jodie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s shepherds hut is just brilliant. So calm and quiet with the best views! Absolutely everything we needed for our country get away, the place is spotless and very chic. Would absolutely recommend a visit and we will be back!

    Gillian2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful. We stayed 17th to the 19th January so it was rather cold but that’s what we wanted. The log burner is the perfect touch, not only romantic but quickly warms the hut and just makes the experience lovely. The views are wonderful, beautiful sun rises and full view of the night sky, what more could you possibly ask for. The place was absolutely spotless! I was worried about showering due it being cold but the shower facilities are perfect! Warm bathroom with full power shower rather than just an electric one. I honestly can’t rave about this place enough. It’s gorgeous and the perfect escape from the city. We will definitely be returning again, spring, summer and winter.

The place was extremely beautiful, clean, cosy and very warm and welcoming. I was in awe of the beauty of the place and the surroundings. The stay was well equipped with all luxuries and essentials. • Sally and John are amazing hosts with great wealth of information about the local area and things to do..Great value for money and the house was exceptionally clean and the spa is amazing with a jacuzzi and sauna. A great time; I would definitely recommend this if you want to stay close to the countryside but not too far away from the capital, Edinburgh. Already planning my next trip back!!!

  • Me and my partner are just back from a 2 night stay and we couldnt have been more pleased ! Sally and john were so welcoming and made us feel at home right away. The house is absolutly beautiful throughout and our room was lovely and cosey. We came for a relaxing time over new year to get away from normal life for a few days and it done exactly that we loved using the spa facilitys and the cinema room. Sally and john opened up the bar and it was a great way to welcome in the new year! We were also spoiled by a great breakfast both monrings aswell we honestly couldnt have asked for more thanks again for a fantastic stay ☺

  • So many things to like about this wee flat. All Irene’s thoughtful touches and considerate communications really made this the complete package. We did a few winter hill walks from the door (above Dollar Glen) and drove to Glensherup for the Ben Shee Loop Walk. Dollar has an excellent range of food/snack shops and cafes. We particularly enjoyed Bridge Street Kitchen for posh nosh and Cafe des Fleurs for scones with jam & clotted cream. Stirling isn’t far away for our favourite curry house: Nawab. The Netflix package was a real bonus on the long winter nights. Don’t be put off by the high street location, it’s quiet at night and the sound levels don’t pick up until gone 8am. But it’s great to pop over the road to Dollar Deli for morning croissants :)

    Jo2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great little flat for a getaway from the city. The space is so clean, stylish and the hosts were always quick to answer. There are local pastry shops around and a co-op right underneath! My partner is very tall and the sofa might have been a little small considering we spent 90% of the trip in the flat. But the Netflix and hot chocolate made up for it☺️ many thanks again!

    Nora2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really cosy little flat in the heart of Dollar. Lovely to have a view of the hills from the bedroom window, and it felt very quiet and peaceful despite being on the high street. The whole place was sparkling clean and done up to a very high standard. Lots of nice extra touches; spare toothbrushes, deodorant and cotton wool in the bathroom, drinking chocolate and coffee in the kitchen, made for a very welcoming stay. Thanks Alistair, we’d definitely come back!

    Ellen2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptional flat in an ideal location in the beautiful village of Dollar. Modern appliances, very comfortable bed, premium linens, stylish, with many thoughtful touches. Steps away from the supermarket, shops, cafes and restaurants. Castle Campbell and Dollar Glen are must-sees situated very close by. Short drive to Gleneagles. Alistair and Irene were very friendly and helpful hosts. Highly recommended.

Relaxing, rural retreat with a 2-room suite that sleeps 2-4. This suite is part of the steading that includes 'Swallows' Nest'. 'Robin's Nest' is accessed by a private stairway. The bedroom has 2 single beds and an en-suite shower room; the sitting room has a single bed and sofa bed, and delightful garden views. Breakfast is served in a shared area. Surrounded by peaceful woodland, you'll feel 'away from it all' but still conveniently close to main roads with easy access to the cities.
This is a newly listed holiday let on AirBnB. This Suite is part of a steading known as the Old Coach House, which includes 'Swallows' Nest', also listed on AirBnB. 'Robins' Nest' is made up of: one room with two single beds, en suite; the second room has a bed, sofa bed, armchairs and TV. Continental breakfast is provided (cereal, breads, fruit, tea and coffee). Breakfast is made available in the Library Room of the complex, for you to help yourself as required. This Library space would also be available as a work space for the rest of the day, if needed.
There are plenty of excellent places nearby for meals/snacks. The garden is shared with the hosts and is wildlife friendly - red squirrels, hares, deer, pheasants, rabbits, plus woodland and garden birds. The property is in the curtillage of Lendrick Muir which is an outdoor activity centre run by Scripture Union - apart from a small area around the buildings, the grounds are open to the public providing excellent walks, views and some mountain bicycle tracks. Nearby Rumbling Bridge gorge is worth a ramble. There are many areas of interest nearby (for example: Dollar museum, Castle Campbell, Muckhart Golf Course and Cowden Japanese Gardens). The Ochil Hills are a few minutes drive away, as is Gleneagles Golf Course, Auchterarder Town with its specialist shops, and Kinross with the attractions around Loch Leven.
  • The place is just great. Everything neat, clean and tidy. The rooms provide everything you need. The location quiet and well located to discover the Kingdom of Five. The hosts are very nice and open for chats and talks and helpful with what ever might come up. I enjoyed it there very much and highly recommend this place.

    Patricia2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice hosts and a very nice quiet location that's within a short drive from both Perth and Edinburgh. We stayed there for the solheim cup and it was perfect for access to gleneagles. Breakfast was offered every day and was always an impressive spread. Will definitely be recommending this to friends and family.

  • Jerome’s airbnb is the best airbnb i’ve ever visited! I could not fault anything and Jerome and Tracey were both fantastic hosts who really went the extra mile. The property was spotless and had everything you could need, it was a shame we could only stay over for one night as a week there would be absolute bliss.

    Katie2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my Dad stayed here for almost a week and really enjoyed it. The location and facilities are excellent, and having breakfast provided was even better. Great hosts, would stay here again.

    Andy2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jerome & Tracey are incredibly welcoming, helpful and lovely people! The property is beautifully decorated to a high spec and located in the most beautiful countryside, we highly recommend a walk along Rumbling Bridge Gorge to The Crook of Devon for a lovely pub lunch.....look out for the Deer along the way! Jerome & Tracey are great for tips on places to visit & have a helpful information pack of what is around the area. We based ourselves here for a week exploring Scotland the central location was perfect; Inverness 2hrs 30mins, Edinburgh 1hr, Sterling 40mins, Loch Lomand 1hr 30mins and Carnoustie 1hr 10mins (amazing beach!) We will definitely be staying here next time we come north of the border.

    Misty2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This b&b is heavenly, a haven of peace in the middle of nature. The breakfast is extravantly generous and so were our hosts. The place is huge and yet spotless, the photos really don't do justice to the property. The rooms and the bathroom are spacious and faultless in every detail. The atmosphere is cosy and homely, we definitely didn't want to leave, as we felt at home at once. We're looking for a way to go back as we're writing this comment :)

    Nathalie2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Wow!! This place exceeded our expectations! When we drove up and into the courtyard we felt as if we were entering a fairytale. It is an amazing place to stay and to get a feel for living in Scotland. It is set in a beautiful area with trees and moss and a garden area. It was in a good central location for us to travel north to the highlands or south to Edinburgh. Jerome and Tracy were both there to greet us when we arrived and showed us to our rooms which are in a separate wing of the house. There is a separate sitting room to watch some television as well as a private bath and a bedroom with 2 twin beds. We slept wonderfully all of the three nights we spent there. Tracy and Jerome are friendly and soon made us feel at home, sharing tea and inviting us to socialize with their friends who came to visit. It was hard to leave this magical place and we hope to come back again! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

  • Jerome and Tracey are extremely hospitable, available and kind. We were able to stay longer for the baby nap because the accommodation was available and we thank them for it. We highly recommend this address. Having our own house wing is also very nice.

  • We had a very pleasant stay at Sycamore Cottage, nice little outbuilding, tastefully decorated and comfortable. The village of Dollar is very nice, there is a small supermarket nearby and Stirling is not far away by car. There is plenty to see in the area, and we had a great time late August! We particularly enjoyed the small patio and outdoor lounge in the cottage courtyard!

It was well equipped, the bed was very comfortable and it was nice to have an outdoor space to sit with a glass of wine in the sunshine. • We spent a night at Jill & Alex's farmhouse while we were up walking and exploring in the Ochiles. Even before we arrived, Jill was very helpful and quick to respond with logistical details. And we had a very comfortable stay, such a luxury to have access to a guest sitting room with a TV downstairs, as well as our own 'wing' of the house with two bedrooms, a landing with sofas, and access to two bathrooms, both with bath and shower. We were also terribly spoilt by the more-than-full breakfast we were served the next morning! Only wish we could have stayed longer.

  • A delightful place to spend the night. David and Karen were wonderful hosts with a warm welcome from both of them. Great comfortable bed and a sensational shower, roasting hot and powerful! The room was spotlessly clean and tastfully decorated, as is their whole beautiful home. Fast wifi was available for me to work in both my room and the residents lounge. It genuinly felt like I was friend in their house and not as a paying guest. Popping their head into the lounge whilst I worked to offer a tea / coffee was just a nice touch. I had the honour of being their first paying guest and if I am back in the area, I will definely be back. If you decide to stay at Powmill, you won't regret.

  • Lovely rural retreat with a fabulous outdoor space and homely yet stylish interior. Once I’d worked out the heating it was toasty warm and the wood burner was lovely. Amenities in the kitchen were good and satellite TV was a great addition especially since we were there over Christmas. Lots of gorgeous walks nearby.

  • Wow! What an amazing place. We spent almost the whole stay at the chalet, with just a visit along the walk way at Rumbling Bridge. The views are great, the space around the chalet is ideal for families, the chalet is large, and comfortable. We are already thinking about booking for next summer.

There will be a £300 cleaning charge applied to anyone breaking this condition.
  • Such a beautiful place to stay! Its a beautiful house. I could reccomend enough! And the couple are so nice, well respected. The view is amazing! Exceptionally when sitting in the hot tub!

    Sarah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous place, Alex and Kathleen were very welcoming hosts. Really recommend this place highly if you are looking for a peaceful location with some luxury touches and a hot tub. The bothy feels even cosier inside than it looks in the photos. The log burner is a great touch, especially for a weekend in February! Kitchen is kitted out with everything you need if you want to stay in for dinner. Very comfy bed and a big shower. The hot tub just tops it off, it's covered so keeps the Scottish weather at bay while you chill in the bubbles looking out at a awesome view of the surrounding countryside. Think this is a place we'll be coming back to.

    Andrew2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for facilitating a great weekend with your lovely accommodation. From the communication of directions before arrival, tips on where to go whilst we were there, a show around the property & amazing hot tub, to knowing you'd be on hand for anything we needed - this was everything we could have wished for. The property has lots of nice little touches that just made our visit even more special, and we couldn't fault a thing.

    Paul2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Alex and Kathleen's bothy is absolutely beautiful and is both comfortable and stylish with lovely thoughtful touches throughout. They were excellent hosts, greeting us and showing us around at the start, then leaving us to it but being available should we need anything. The private hot tub looks out across the rolling countryside and certainly makes the whole stay that much more special. Would highly recommend for a cosy getaway trip.

    Hannah2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place. Fantastic location, beautiful views. Extremely warm and hospitable hosts, who gave us some really useful local information. While you’re there, take the short walk to Castle Campbell and enjoy the views from the window on the 2nd floor.

    Stela2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great place. Nicely decorated, very clean and with a lot of great details. The fireplace was set up, the jacuzzi was perfect and Alex even set up a christmas tree. We had a great stay and can recommend their place to everyone.

    Thijs2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most fantastic stay at Alex and Kathleens! The bothy was beautiful and so clean. Location excellent; we went on a lovely walk and enjoyed the views. The hot tub and the views from the hot tub was the cherry on top of a perfect weekend. Thank you to Alex and Kathleen for being such lovely hosts as well. 10/10!

    Rebecca2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Alex and Kathleen for providing such a beautiful place to stay, so well appointed with stylish thoughtful touches that made it a lovely place to be. The hot tub was out of this world, especially with the views over the hills. Very special.

  • Our stay at Buttercup Bothy in Glendevon was exceptional. On our arrival we received a lovely warm welcome from Isla and were immediately shown to our log cabin. The photographs do not do the cabin justice. It was so comfortable and clean and everything that you could possibly need for your stay had been thought of. I was, along with my husband attending my son’s graduation from Stirling University and the whole family was able to get ready in comfort with everything covered including hair dryer, straighteners and an iron. The beds were wonderful and we all enjoyed a great nights sleep. The view from our cabin was absolutely stunning and once again the photos do not do the view justice. It was absolutely beautiful and it was a pleasure to wake up each morning and be able to have breakfast looking at such spectacular scenery! Thank you so much Isla for making our stay perfect and we will definitely be coming back and telling our friends! Cindy & Lee Barrett, Nathan Barrett and Sara Casali

  • Our experience far exceeded our expectations. The property is beautifully styled, well-equipped, and with abundant hot water and a very efficient heating system. Communication with the hosts was very efficient so we had answers to our questions prior to booking almost instantly. There were lots of added extras that made our stay perfect from the outset and no need to go out shopping for essentials like tea, coffee, milk, washing up liquid, toiletries, toilet paper, etc. We were also left a basket of treats from the local deli. We shall definitely be back!

    Ann2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • A magnificent apartment, very spacious and with all services. We have been very comfortable and we could always park at the door (or almost). It also suited us very well that there was a supermarket open every day a few meters from the door. The only downside is that enough light came through the windows and the dawn woke us up. We liked that in some plugs there were USB sockets to charge the phones, since with the adapters for the plugs we were carrying, we could not plug many things at once. We had to do more car hours than we intended to visit that area of Scotland, but it more than compensated us for the comfort of the apartment. A highly recommended accommodation

Central for everything you need for daily life.....The conversation with Irene and Alistar was quick, very friendly and helpful. When we ever visit Dollar again we definitely will stay there!!! Greetings from Germany

  • What a fantastic place this is , beautifully furnished and finished a joy to stay here whilst working locally . Perfect instructions and contact throughout , it was a pleasure staying here and will certainly be back in the future !

    Ben2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Alistair and Irene were fantastic hosts. Their apartment is beautifully decorated and much thought has gone into what their guests may require. I would strongly recommend this apartment for an extended stay (ours was 4 weeks due to a house flood) or a short break soaking in the stunning scenery of Dollar and the surrounding area. It is much larger than it looks in the photos, comfortably sleeping our family or 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers). Their apartment was very well appointed from gorgeous toiletries to good quality kitchen equipment and was spotlessly clean. I highly recommend a stay at this airbnb.

Steeped in history, Dollar has all facilities including cafes, restaurants and shopping on your doorstep.
Steeped in history, Dollar has all facilities including cafes, restaurants and shopping on your doorstep, and lies only 13 miles east of the historic city of Stirling. Harviestoun House comfortably sleeps 8 people in four bedrooms. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor. Bedroom one, with en-suite shower room and fitted wardrobe, has the flexibility of being either 2 twin beds or one superking size bed. Bedroom two has a double bed. Upstairs, reached from the galleried landing, bedrooms three and four can be either twin rooms or have superking size beds. Both rooms share a modern bathroom with over-bath shower. Please confirm on booking how you would like the beds to be configured. Downstairs the double height sitting room seats 8 people on two three-seater sofas and one two-seater sofa. There is a log burning stove for you to return to after sightseeing or walking in this beautiful area in the heart of Scotland. The sitting room, like all other rooms, has all new furniture and fittings and gas central heating. As well as being close to Stirling, Dollar is within easy reach of Glasgow and Edinburgh and St Andrews to the east, so you are perfectly situated to take advantage of all Scotland has to offer from this central location. Closer at hand, visit 500 year old Castle Campbell, lowland seat of the Duke of Argyll, where Mary, Queen of Scots once lived in the 16th Century. The walk to the castle is by a spectacular series of paths, bridges and walkways in the deep gorges of the glen and its tributaries. Dollar’s other facilities include a small museum and 18 hole golf course notable for its steep inclines and lack of bunkers.
  • Harviestoun House is warm, comfortable and pleasant to be in. We planned to eat out several nights but ended up dining in most of the time instead! Living room is a little on the echoey side and TV is in an odd location but the woodburner more than makes up for it. Dollar is a lovely little town with all the basics handy at the Co-Op, a great pub, and a fantastic restaurant and cocktail bar should you fancy treating yourself. The local castle and glen was also a wonderful afternoon out walking and you're not too far from basically everything you could want to see in the south of Scotland, it's all in reasonable driving distance. Highly recommended and I suspect we'll be visiting again.

  • Fantastic property in a nice location! Property is very clean and is ideal for a large family. No need to say anything else really.

    Norman2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • A well furnished and well presented house in a nice village with just the right amount of amenities. The rooms are a good size and the conservatory downstairs is a great playroom for kids or place to read. Only issue for me is that it is on a road that is busier than expected and has traffic through the night. It would only detract from the experience of you are a light sleeper or have to keep windows open at night!

    Christopher2019-08-24T00:00:00Z

  • Harviestoun House is a fantastic place to stay. It is very clean and well equipped. There are several skylights which give it a very bright and open feeling. There was plenty of room for our two families- ages 25 to 70. The kitchen (with adjacent sunroom) was the gathering spot for breakfast before heading out on adventures. The location is so convenient for day trips. At the end of the day, we gathered in the living room to play games. Dollar is a great village. Bridge Street Kitchen was our favorite dinner place, but there are many options nearby.

The kitchen has the main door that leads into the garden, with a small lobby area for leaving muddy boots and coats. There is plenty of space for parking just behind the cottage on the farm road, a small gate then leads you into the enclosed garden. On arrival we stock the fridge with fresh milk, butter and a loaf of bread. There are basic ingredients in the kitchen for cooking. The cottage is situated within a 20minute walking distance from Dollar along a beautiful foothill path, local attractions can be found such as Castle Campbell, Dollar glen and Dollar museum and lovely cafes and shops can be accessed with ease. For walkers, the hills await you from your back door! For garden lovers ‘The Japanese Garden’ is just East of Dollar and Stirling castle and the Wallace mounument can be found within 20minutes drive to the West. Gleneagles hotel and golf course are 25mintues drive North. Edinburgh and Glasgow are within 50minutes drive and Edinburgh airport is 45minutes drive. * We do accept dogs, however this is a working farm and horses are often grazing in the fields next to the cottage, therefore it is essential dogs do not chase or worry livestock. An extra charge of £5/day per dog is required on arrival. We kindly ask that dogs are not taken into the bedrooms or upstairs, and that all garden areas are checked for any mess prior to departure. * we also have another cottage on the estate called Deerpark cottage, this sleeps 5people in three rooms. Both cottages are within walking distance to one another if extra space was needed for family gatherings.

  • Angus Cottage is ideally located on the Ochil hills with stunning views both to the front and back of the cottage. We saw amazing wildlife - birds of prey, a red squirrel and horses in the adjacent fields. Dollar is only 15-20 minutes walk from the cottage. The house is spotless and well resourced, there is a large fenced garden and Kate is a fantastic host. We would happily stay again.

  • A lovely home from home, really well appointed house, great hospitality from Kate and some lovely little touches to make your stay more comfortable. Highly recommended.

  • We have just returned home after bringing in the new year in front of the log fire at Kate’s cottage. We wanted somewhere peaceful and the cottage did not disappoint! It was much bigger than I expected, the facilities available were great, it had everything we needed and more. I loved the traditional feel to the place and the Christmas tree in the dining room was a lovely homely touch. The views were stunning. We also enjoyed a walk up to castle Campbell which offers beautiful views too. Thanks again Kate, we would deffo book again.

  • This was our second time at Angus Cottage, so we've been both in summer and Christmas time now: without doubt this is our ideal family retreat, lovely cottage and wonderful area to explore! Kate is a fantastic host, when we arrived we found a Christmas tree in the lounge ready to decorate with the children and little chocolates on our bed pillows. These are the small touches that make your holiday unique, we can't wait to be back!

  • Good rural get away, lovely secluded cottage with nice traditional living spaces downstairs (separate kitchen, dining and living rooms with fire place for cozy evenings) and doors out to garden with lovely views to front and ochills behind. 2 good bedrooms upstairs. Great for local country walks and village of Dollar just down the road is well worth a visit especially for Castle Campbell. Would defiantly book again.

  • We spent a very relaxing weekend at Kate’s cottage. It is in a quiet idyllic location close to Dollar which makes for great walking opportunities. The cottage was clean and has a wonderful garden which is great to sit out in to enjoy the sun!

Our cute listed cottage sits right at the foothills of the dollar glen with stunning walks and scenery all around. Castle Campbell is a short walk Dollar has many lovely restaurants and shops A perfect escape location
It's a listed cottage with a pantiled roof and a charming atmosphere. The living space is bare stone walls with an open fire with everything you could need in the equipped kitchen Please be aware that as it is an old cottage we have low ceilings in places. Best not to book if you are 6ft6!! We just warn you to mind your head!! There are also about 10 steep steps up to the second bedroom but it all adds to the charm! Enjoy
We love the escapism combined with the convenience of the small town. We sit on the very edge of the beautiful dollar glen with castle Campbell just a short stunning walk away. However stroll past the gorgeous steam down into the village to visit a number of delicious restaurants and most definitely make the trip to our fantastic deli. There's also a terrific farm shop in the neighbouring village which sells lots of fantastic local produce.
  • This is a beautifully presented cottage that is very clean and a joy to tay in. Antonia has taken time to compile a very detailed folder that answers any question you are likely to have. It is equipped with wi-fi and is a traditional Scottish cottage flat with all the mod-cons you would require.

  • Exactly as described, a great cottage in an gorgeous friendly village.

    Helen2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The house of Antonia is very pretty and lovingly decorated and has a great location in town. Everything is very clean with plenty of space and storage space. Everything is in the kitchen, what you need. Dollar is a beautiful place and great starting point for excursions. A few hundred meters away is a small supermarket, open daily until 19 o'clock and has a large assortment. We were in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Sterling, East Neuk. Castle Campbell and the beautiful Orchil Hills on your doorstep. It is not better.

    Anja2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at Antonia's place. Walking on the door step and a great base to drive to other attractions.

  • A charming and beautifully decorated house. House is very clean and fully equipped. Location is perfect for visiting Edingburg and other sights.

    Chantal2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is a typical Scottish old house that has a lot of charm inside. A few years ago it was lovingly renovated and equipped with new kitchen and new bathroom. With Antonia as a super host, who responded to all requests immediately, we felt very well. We can highly recommend the cottage and will definitely be back!

    Carsten2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • This little cottage was perfect for our family of 4! The upstairs is a tight fit for most Americans but perfect for kids!! We could drive to Edinburgh, Stirling, and St Andrew's on day trips and come back to a comfy fire and quiet village to rest!! The Castle Campbell is a beautiful place to hike to and visit right behind the cottage! Antonia and her family have renovated the space stylishly but kept the charm! Had everything we needed, and extra touches like the washer and toiletries under the sink when we arrived with no luggage from BA! Would definitely recommend!!! Wish we could've drove out to meet Antonia and her dogs!!! Maybe next time!!

Set in 3 acres of gardens and with beautiful views of the valley, Shiel House is the perfect retreat. This bespoke house was built by our family to provide an escape from the city and it has been furnished to provide a comfortable home from home. It would suit solo adventurers, couples, families (with kids), and big groups. Only an hour's drive from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and St Andrews, it is also the ideal base for golfers, walkers and visitors to Scotland. www.shielhouse.co.uk
Shiel House sits in three acres of beautifully planted mature gardens, rich with rhododendrons and azaleas. There is a large well maintained lawn perfect for a family game of cricket or croquet, a Japanese inspired pond and a separate walled garden. The extensive gardens are provided with total privacy by the surrounding forest. The house is comfortably furnished as a family home and has a cosy lounge with a wood burning stove, TV and plenty of family board games. The kitchen is modern and well equipped with a range oven and table and chairs and there is a large conservatory with perfect, uninterrupted views down the valley towards Stirling and the Wallace monument.
The river Devon runs along the border of Briglands Farm and is just a short walk from the house. The river walk will take you along the gorge and into the village of Rumbling Bridge, a small friendly community. A short walk in the other direction will take you to the Crook of Devon where there is a pub and a local shop to pick up any essentials. There are many beautiful walks of varying difficulty in the surrounding hills, and there is a wealth of historic homes and castles to visit and plenty of activities ranging from whisky tasting to golf within a 30 mile radius.
  • A fantastic house with lots of communal space to sit around and chat in. Great views of Stirling in the distance and a fantastic wooded area around the house to let the kids explore. Extremely friendly and helpful hosts.

    David2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous place with excellent location to visit Stirling or Edinburgh; Rebeca's attention makes you feel at home. Definitely a great holiday choice.

    María Eugenia2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sheil House is in a great location, amazing views towards Stirling from the property, and both short and long walks from the doorstep that show this part of Scotland at it's best. It's only 35 minutes from Edinburgh airport too! The common areas are spacious, cosy and great for family entertaining. Kitchen has everything you need, loads of appliances hidden away (blenders etc). Gardens were a treat, we have a couple of budding photographers, who loved snapping the red squirrels, grouse, robins and hawks on the perimeter. Decor is traditional and main bathroom shower could do with an upgrade, but water pressure fine and plenty hot water for 8 of us each morning. There are a couple do different water/heating systems in the house, all explained in the manual, but can lead to water overheating - not a big deal but may want to resolve in the near future. Great selection of indoor and outdoor games for all ages. All in all, a great find for our family needs, big thanks to Rebecca and Tim.

  • Great space for entertaining with fantastic gardens and views.

  • Shiel House is an amazing place for families to get away for a break. The conservatory is lovely and the grounds are an amazing place to explore with kids. The house is quiet and a great place to relax. The garden at night is a good place to stare up at the stars on a clear night too!

    Chris2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic house. We had a large group of friends staying, cooked a huge meal for a group of 15 and it was perfect. Hot water, heating all worked great and the kitchen was fully kitted out. The living spaces were great for everyone to find a comfortable place to spend time and enjoy games and puzzles in the evenings. The property is beautiful for walks and enjoying nature.

  • We have just stayed for a week at Kathleen’s apartment. The apartment is lovely, immaculately clean. Kathleen was there to greet us, she provided some essentials which was very kind. The apartment was very well equipped with everything you would need. Dollar itself is a lovely town, we ate at the Bridge Street Kitchen, and Cafe des fleur, both highly recommended. Kathleen is a wonderful host, nothing was too much trouble, she is very knowledgeable. We could not have met a nicer person. We would definitely recommend staying in this lovely apartment, and we would love to go back. Five stars all the way⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

  • My daughters and I stayed for 3nights in August at Kathleen’s Garden-Flat, it was truly “home away from home”. Kathleen was very quick at replying to my messages leading up to our stay and was an awesome host. She was so happy to welcome us when we arrived and showed us around the flat. Her flat had everything one could ever ask for from a self-catering Property. It ticked all the boxes for me. My daughters loved it! A well equipped kitchen for those who love to cook. I enjoyed it! You wouldn’t feel that it was lacking any item. Co-op market in walking distance (opening hrs 7am-10pm) FYI. Bedrooms were very comfortable and cozy. Super comfortable beds & pillows. Books and games for all ages. 2 folders full of information regarding places to visit while in Dollar & around Scotland. And nearby restaurants and takeaways. The flat is directly located behind the lovely Dollar Academy so we were lucky to get to listen to their talented Pipers & Drum band every morning at breakfast time. We felt very spoilt. Go ahead and book before you miss out, you will not regret it! We definitely will return! Thank you once again Kathleen

  • Kathleen was an excellent and thoughtful host. The flat was very comfortable for our family of 4. The full kitchen includes all the utensils and cookware I can imagine anyone needing. There is a good-sized, updated bathroom with towels, washcloths, etc. Beds were comfortable and the apartment is quiet. There is very little traffic on the street outside. Parking is on-street, but there was never any lack of spaces and we parked very near the garden gate. Overall, a great experience made even better by the host!

    Chad2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • We chose Dollar mainly for location, and for our purposes of wanting to pop to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling it was ideal. Kathleen was incredibly welcoming, such enthusiasm to meet us and help make our stay comfortable with little extra touches. A host who apologises for the weather is really trying to go that extra mile - we were just concerned that our wet boots and waterproofs weren't going to cause problems. The cosy fire soon helped with that. We made the most of the amenities in Dollar, thanks to the guides thoughtfully provided by Kathleen. We spent most of the stay either planning, or spending time out and about, and for us four adults it met all of our requirements. If we could have ordered more sunshine we would have, but despite that we really enjoyed our stay.

Cosy country house B&B with 2 luxury en suite bedrooms set in scenic Clackmannanshire (9 miles from Gleneagles), combining sumptious breakfasts, classic aesthetics, modern facilities, views of the stunning Ochil Hills & warm, and personal service.
Baldiesburn blends the traditional character of an 18th century Scottish country house with modern home comforts and amenities, set amidst beautiful hill scenery, but equally well placed to link with the transport network and Central Scotland's many tourist and sporting attractions.
Golf enthusiasts are spoiled for choice when based at Baldiesburn. Gleneagles is 9 miles drive away. The local golf course at Muckhart boasts the rare challenge of no less than 27 holes, while St Andrews at the other end of the price spectrum is under 1 hour's drive. There is no end of good walking, fishing and outdoor activities to be enjoyed in the local area. Glendevon and the Ochil Hills are Baldiesburn's back yard, with views from the peaks stretching across the Forth Valley from the Wallace Monument and the Trossachs in the West to the Forth Bridges and the Bass Rock in the East. Many world-acclaimed castles and historic sites are within easy reach of Baldiesburn including, Castle Campbell (Dollar), Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument (Stirling), Falkland Palace (Fife), Dunfermline Abbey (Fife) and Culross nestling on the Firth of Forth. Enough to whet most appetites! There is a good range of restaurants and eateries in Dollar, Muckhart and scenic Glendevon to match all budgets and tastes, of which the following is a sample we can recommend: The Inn at Muckhart, Pool of Muckhart (huge portions and excellent local beers) The Tormaukin Hotel, Glendevon The Bridge Street Kitchen, Dollar The Court House, Kinross And that's just skimming the surface of this unspoiled, little known enclave of Scotland's 'Wee County', Clackmannanshire.
  • We were welcomed with open arms and home baking. Comfortable and sparkling clean. Beautiful view from the windows. Breakfast was served in a lovely dining room with exceptional home cooking, home baked bread full of healthy grains, breakfast made to order. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

  • I would recommend this as an excellent place to stop. The service is second to none, and we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The cooking is out of this world and we would return without hesitate just for that alone. Full marks Marion.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Muckhart with Marion and Stuart. We were made to feel very welcome straight away, nothing was too much trouble for them. Badgers Den is a hand crafted bespoke Shepherd Hut, gaining its name from the small badger’s sett that lives a short walk away. ‘Badgers’ as we call it, is well insulated and toasty all year round, thanks to its charming log burning stove. With its own parking and a short walk through a pathed wooded area, you will find the perfectly isolated shepherds hut laying on the edge of a picturesque hill. The only neighbours you will have to worry about are the sheep or cattle quietly grazing.
This hand-built Shepherd Hut is the latest addition to Greenhill Farm. There is another two-person hut on the opposite side of the wood (Crofter's View). Badgers Den has its own barbeque complete with seating and utensils. Set on a raised decking and a wooden shelter for protection from the unpredictable Scottish weather, it is perfect for cooking your fry up in the morning while taking in the spectacular year-round view. Having an enclosed private garden is a must, as we can’t have your four-legged friends left behind. Badgers Den was constructed by a local craftsman who set to work on creating a spacious family Shepherds hut, with a double bed and an extra room with a bunk bed. There is also an oak custom-made pull-down dining table. Due to the complete seclusion of the site, there is no running water or electricity, however these can be found at the farmyard with a hot water shower and flushing loo, with an electricity point for charging phones. However, there is a small private hut next to the Badgers Den with rudimentary toilet facilities. Water is supplied to the cabin, suitable for drinking, washing, etc Enjoy the beautiful countryside with the comforts of your own home, with everything you could possibly need for your relaxing stay; our charming wood burning stove (logs and fire lighters included), luxurious double bed, black-out blinds, board games, Bluetooth radio and pull-down breakfast bar. We only allow one dog per stay, (two depending on size.) If you do want to bring your four-legged friend along please contact us to make prior arrangements, there will be a £10 charge.
As our Shepherd hut is totally secluded and off grid, there is no electricity within the hut. Instead there are chargeable bedside lights, torches, and LED candles for the total glamping experience. Located in a central point there is electricity sockets for the convenience of all guests to charge their devices. We offer a dog and child friendly environment by providing a private enclosed garden area. However, as we are a working farm, we do ask that you supervise children and dogs at all times and have dogs on leads when exploring out of the private garden area, for both their safety and that of livestock.
