• A beautiful cottage, both in design and it’s location at the top of a valley overlooking Glendale and the sea. The cottage was very warm, clean and comfortable. Debbie was a great host and gave some fantastic recommendations in the area - particularly recommended are The Three Chimneys and also The Inn (by Talisker Distillery) to eat, Neist Point for a local walk or Old Man Storr for the hikers. Great place if you want to switch off in luxe surroundings.

• Absolutely loved the place, the view and the area of Skye. The landscape is purely for looking at it and Debbies house incorporated this perfectly in the design. We spend the best of time with our little toddler and Debbie made sure, we had everything we needed. This is definitely a place we would return to, when on Skye!

• Warm cosy cottage with magnificent views. Although our weather wasn’t great it didn’t matter as we felt great getting back to the cottage

• Great location with spectacular views. The cottage itself is fantastic. Modern, clean and toasty warm. The host communicated quickly and all instructions were easy to follow and on point. Would highly recommend

• Debbie is an absolutely fantastic host, she gave us plenty of information, check in instructions were perfect and was always very quick with her replies! As for the cottage, it was absolutely beautiful, it was spotless, plenty of information about the things to see and do and the views, wow! We will be back, thank you very much Debbie! Nicola and Kev

• Fantastic house, loved the rural location. Very relaxing to sit and enjoy the view. House has everything you would need, would definitely stay again!

• This cottage could be described by one word „amazing“. It is cozy and very lovely decorated, but modern equipped and spacious at the same time. Everything was perfectly clean and we felt super comfortable while „living“ there. Higlights are definitely the panorama windows and the fireplace. Glendale itself is an estate consisting of small townships with just a few houses. This is something that you must be aware of (no or only small grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants nearby etc) but was EXACTLY what we were looking for. The solitary location of the cottage in the northern part of Skye and the view through the windows was simply stunning. So we can highly recommend Debbie‘s place as we just loved it there!

The apartment is large and well equipped for a self catering holiday. It is light, airy and warm with beautiful views to the Outer Hebrides across Loch Pooltiel and The Minch. There's a large garden which you can share, books, maps and local information.
Your host is near by to make sure the apartment is ready for your stay.
• This was a lovely and well-appointed apartment. If you are staying for a long time, the kitchen is well-appointed and you could easily cook a full meal there. It is far away from the “major” town of Portree, but we still loved the location. There is not much to see in Portree and didn’t seem worth the hassle to us of staying there. If you have a car, you will be driving around anyway, which meant for us it was nice to come home to a more peaceful location.

The Garden Bothy is a light and airy Shepherds Hut nestled in our established and leafy garden within the thriving crofting community of Glendale which is famous for its dark starry night skies, Northern Lights and stunning sunsets over the sea to the Outer Isles beyond. We are just 7 miles from Dunvegan and an excellent base from which to explore this wild and unspoilt corner of Skye. We aim to make this a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
Your Shepherd Hut is 16ft long so plenty of space for a comfy and cosy double bed plus Shower Room with shower cubicle, wash hand basin and W.C. There's a range of kitchen units incorporating fridge, 2 ring electric ceramic hob, sink unit and work surface together with microwave, kettle, toaster and table and chairs. A television is provided but only for viewing DVDs and connection to laptops and there is a c.d. player/radio. We also provide a hairdryer and toiletries so all you need to bring are your PJ.s ! We want you to be able to unwind during your stay so tea , coffee and sugar are all included together with a self catering BREAKFAST HAMPER including cereals, porridge oats, small loaf, free range eggs from our hens, jams, butter, milk, fruit juice and fresh fruit ( please let us know if you are GLUTEN FREE as we can cater accordingly !) The Garden Bothy is quite self contained and is located adjacent to our own property. As our guests you will have access to most of the garden but please remember this is also home to our animals, hens, 2 dogs, a very spoilt cat and a friendly goose - if she likes you enough she may decide to have a cuddle on your lap : this is why we cannot accomodate guests with their own pets and why we ask you to always close the gates.
Glendale is a small but thriving crofting community and is an excellent base from which to explore this wild and untamed corner of Skye - Neist Point Lighthouse, The Coral Beaches , Macleod Tables and Dunvegan Castle are all within reach together with a well stocked Post Office/ |General Store and Lephin Cafe for a light bite or the world famous Three Chimneys for a special treat. There is an abundance of wildlife and as you explore you may be lucky enough to spot Sea Eagles, Seals, Dolphin and Whales - maybe even Otters or Deer in the quieter parts of the day.
• A fantastic stop for my partner and I in the middle of our two week roadtrip. This place had everything we needed: a warm bed, a fabulous shower, a fully functioning kitchen (minus an oven which we didn’t need), parking just outside our door and a fantastic view! Hilary and Andy are both very friendly and we really appreciated their thoughtful touches around the place - fruit, breakfast, eggs, milk, local recommendations! I would highly recommend driving in during daylight because the drive out this way had us in awe, absolutely stunning!

Anahera2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
• We stayed at this lovely little place for two nights and had a great time. The interior is super cute and everything you need is there. Hilary and her brother in law Andy are super nice people who welcomed us very warmly. We also had the chance to meet the goose Phoebe and some chickens :) all together we can totally recommend to stay here and enjoy a special stay in mid of a beautiful landscape <3

• Diana & Alex provided us the absolute best experience staying at Rockbank! We honestly couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful stay. They were super easy to communicate with and very flexible with our schedule and what time we could arrive. As for the location, Glendale was magical and their place was absolutely perfect. The decor and feel of it was so thoughtfully done and beautiful. We loved finding out about all of the local touches that were in our space. They served us the most amazing full breakfast every morning (which we both eagerly looked forward to due to the best home cooking, Diana’s incredible baking and homemade jams). One of them always seemed to be there upon our return from our daily sightseeing to ask how our day was and to offer us a fresh pot of tea. They gave us awesome advice on places to visit and where we could go to look for souvenirs, etc. Just the most absolutely sweet couple and the most charming home. You will not be disappointed one bit in your stay with them, you’ll be blown away by their hospitality and kindness. Thank you to the moon and back for the lovely stay Diana and Alex! I’ll email you a picture of my first attempt at baking your bread :)

• What can we say. The house is in a quiet area. It is beautifully presented. Breakfasts were fantastic. Alex was very obliging and we could certainly recommend a stay there.

• Lovely, perfect B and B. Wonderful family and delicious food!

Cassandra2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
• We had a great time at Diana&Alex‘s place! It is nicely designed with lots of lovely details and it was sparkling clean. The bathroom and the room itself are spacious and we absolutely loved the breakfast that Alex made for us. We had a menu of things to choose from - we took cereal with yoghurt and fresh fruit on both mornings. On one morning we also had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on homemade bread - the other morning we had avocado and poached egg on homemade bread - both were excellent!! One small disadvantage - the place is a bit clairaudient (coming from the upper floor), which might trouble you if you are a sensitive person. Apart from that we loved our stay and would come definitely recommend the place!

A luxurious, traditional crofter's cottage in an idyllic location. In the centre of a beautiful township but lying on unspoilt croftland with the nearest house 0.5km away. The local shop, a rugged beach and local eating places are within 1km.
This is a luxurious restored croft house with two en-suite bedrooms and a downstairs shower-room. It has a lovely open fire in the lounge and a multi-fuel stove in the kitchen/dining room. Fuel for the fires is provided. It is extremely cosy with under-floor heating in the tiled downstairs areas. There are wonderful views from the south facing front porch where you can enjoy a sunny breakfast or watch the beautiful evening sunsets.

We visited the Quiraing, Storr, Coral beaches, Fairy glen, Fairy pools, Staffin dinosaur footprints, Duntulm dinosaur footprints, climbed Macleods tables and had an amazing meal at the Michelin starred Loch Bay restaurant. A bit of history: In 1595, the then MacLeod of Dunvegan (Ruaraidh Mhor) and Sir Iain MacCrimmon signed the Deed of Friendship and it was during Ruaraidh Mhor's lifetime that the MacCrimmons became hereditary pipers to the Chiefs of the Clan MacLeod. In return the MacCrimmons were given land at Borreraig. The building was constructed in 1881 in a traditional stone manner under a slated roof by Dr. Alexander Ross of Inverness (1834 - 1925), a prominent Victorian architect who built a number of notable buildings throughout the Highlands (e.g. St Andrew's Cathedral and The Bishop's Palace and also Ardross, Duncraig and Skibo Castles). Situated in the crofting township of Borreraig, this former school and schoolhouse was previously used as the MacCrimmon Piping Heritage Centre.
• We stayed in Elke's place for a week to celebrate my 30th birthday and first time in Scotland and I wouldn't have spent it anywhere else! The house is lovely and felt like home, they had everything we could possibly need and extras too! The surrounding areas and views from the house are superb and you don't have to travel to find beautiful places to walk. We visited Borreig Bay, the manor stone and the areas surrounding the house but also enjoyed day visits to Talisker Distillery, Portree, The fairy pools and Neist point (for sun rise and sunset--I could not recommend this more!) we also had a birthday meal at the Edinbane Inn and listened to live folk music being played (on a Sunday) the food and atmosphere were amazing! Elke's hospitality can not be faulted, a slow cooker was provided and was ideal to use when we were out walking for the day and could return to a cooked meal! The key holder also popped round to say hello and she was very welcoming! You are definitely getting what you pay for and more here! In all, Elke's place made for an idyllic base for our Scottish adventure and will remain as part of our memories if a wonderful holiday!

• Elkes place is something special. If you like us , love the countryside this place will take you there. The place was very clean and Elke was very helpfull with tips on what to see on Sky. We would love to come back to this place.

• We had a great family week at Elke's. The house is very nice, quiet and comfortable and there is nothing missing. The scenery is beautiful and we have discovered many beautiful places on the island. An excellent address!

• If you really want to get away from it, then it's the best place. Everything is done to welcome you. The house is beautiful and the landscapes extraordinary. One expects at any time to see elves, fairies or leprechauns emerge from an undergrowth or a hedge. You will certainly find a sheep but it is still possible to dream. Another big thank you.

Allt Mor is a romantic, Grade B Listed, traditional Highland crofting cottage within its original 6 acre croft land. Although over 200 years old, the cottage has been sensitively modernised, combining all the charm of these beautiful old buildings with the comfort of a modern home. Located in Upper Milovaig, at the North-Western tip of the stunning Isle of Skye, it offers luxury accommodation in a wonderfully secluded location, with access to all the Islands stunning attractions.
The original stone-built cottage is one of the oldest buildings in the glen and has been extended at the rear to replicate the traditional relationship between a cottage and its associated weaving shed. The extension is barely visible from the road, thereby retaining the original character of the main building. The result is a building which combines the cosiness and charm of a traditional old Highland crofting cottage with a snug lounge with wood-burning stove and a large kitchen/dining area together with a modern large bedroom and bathroom with walk-in shower. The building has an exceptional degree of historic charm combined with the benefit of a centrally-heated and functional living space. The cottage is set well back from the road, is largely screened from public view by trees and shrubs and is secluded from traffic and other houses. It is set within its own cottage garden which provides a private, well maintained and tranquil sitting out area enclosed by dry-stone walls. Guests are able to take advantage of the associated croft land. There is a mown walk around the land and a bench at the rear of the cottage which provides extensive views across The Minch to the Outer Hebrides on the horizon – a superb place to sit with a drink to watch the sunset and enjoy the legendary landscape of the Isle of Skye. The centrally heated luxury accommodation comprises: Hallway / boot room with plenty of space for outdoor footwear and outdoor clothing; Cosy sitting room with a wood burning stove and a TV/DVD player; Fully fitted kitchen / dining area with a hob, oven, washing machine, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with a freezer compartment, toaster, kettle etc.; Double bedroom has a king-size bed with a large roof-light through which the starry skies can be viewed; Bathroom has a walk-in shower, washbasin and WC. Outside there is a private walled garden, a large parking area, buildings where you can store bicycles and access to over 6 acres of the original croft land. The price for your stay includes: Fuel (wood and coal) for the stove; Electricity and Gas; Bedding; Towels (kitchen and bathroom); Basic kitchen supplies.
The Isle of Skye is located off the north-west coast of Scotland, and is the largest of the group of islands known as the Inner Hebrides. Though Scotland has around 800 islands, Skye is one of its largest and most famous. Its mixture of legend, history, culture, food, stunning landscapes and wildlife make it a memorable place to visit no matter what your interests are. Allt Mor is located in the township of Upper Milovaig, part of the community-owned estate of Glendale on the Duirinish peninsular, at the north-western tip of the island. Milovaig overlooks Loch Pooltiel with its small harbour and black sand beach and has spectacular views across the Minch to the Outer Isles and to Dunvegan Head. The location is wonderfully secluded but, nonetheless, there is easy access to local amenities including a post office/shop, cafes and craft outlets and all of Skye’s major attractions. Dunvegan, with its castle, shops and eating places, is approximately 8 miles away. The largest town on the island, Portree is about 32 miles away. The cottage is located about 2 miles from Neist Point with its famous sea views, cliff top walks and iconic lighthouse - an excellent spot for bird and whale watching Visitors come here for many reasons, but whether it’s photography, climbing, walking, cycling, kayaking, bird and whale watching, or dining on its world famous seafood, the Isle of Skye leaves a lasting impression on everyone who stays, especially if you give yourself time to soak it up.
• Excellent wee cottage. Excellent host. Saved my life with a spare toothbrush and some delicious fresh baked bread and jam. The bed is amazing, the views are stunning and it's about the best air bnb we've had. Very cosy, very well equipped and just the right amount of remote. Loved it. Will be back without a doubt.

• Such a beautiful place. Josie and Ron have done an amazing job of making it a wonderful place to stay.

Claire2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
• We had a wonderful stay at Allt Mor. Josie responded promptly to all enquiries prior to our arrival and was there to greet us when we arrived. She gave us all the info we needed to get settled and directed us to the very comprehensive booklet of info about the house and surrounding area which came in handy throughout our stay. The cottage is fairly remote but for us was the perfect location for exploring the north of the island, with access to most of Skye’s main attractions within about 90 mins drive. The house was well equipped, especially the kitchen which had everything we needed and more. The central heating ensured we were warm and in the evenings we added to this with the wood burner in the living room. The bathroom and bedroom are both situated in an extension to the rear of the cottage and are very comfortable and clean, like the rest of the property. The garden is nice and the views around the cottage are beautiful. This is the perfect place to escape and enjoy the peace and quiet that island life has to offer.

Caitlin2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
• I couldn’t recommend this cottage enough! Josie and Ron were fantastic and gave some really helpful local tips. The cottage is perfect, well thought out and well appointed. We loved every minute and will definitely be staying again!

Matthew2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
• The hosts were extremely welcoming, informative, and helpful, but also provided us with privacy throughout our stay. They even provided a very interesting and detailed guidebook to everything you might want to know about the cottage and the surrounding areas. The cottage it self was very cute, homey, and romantic. It was the perfect size to allow for cooking meals comfortably and space to relax by the fire. They kitchen had everything we could need. Jose described the cottage perfectly as, "Although over 200 years old, the cottage has been sensitively modernized, combining all the charm of these beautiful old buildings with the comfort of a modern home." No detail was overlooked in the design, presentation, and comfort of the cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this cottage and it's hosts to anyone looking for a romantic, remote getaway destination.

Bird Song Bothy beautifully complements the spectacular landscape It has an open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room a breakfast bar a leather sofa and two arm chairs The mezzanine sleeping area has 2 beds which can be singles or joined as a double No bathtub but there is a stylish shower. Decor is white and natural wood tones Natural light pours in through large windows that allow full appreciation of the surrounding vistas. The sea view sitting area is a a particular guest favourite .
Here is what Grant said "Superb cottage. Awesome view of the loch you can sit in the living room and just relax for hours. Nice place to get away from city and relax. Inside was stunning, new fixtures and furnishings and a beautiful bathroom. Everything was super clean. Awesome place we had a great time getting away from the city and relaxing. It was great that the pictures in the ad didn’t lie about the view, it was amazing. So many times you rent a place turns out to be not as great as pictures let on, not the case here". Just on of many similar reviews have a look.
The setting is the stunning Isle of Skye. It will take your breath away in the depth of Winter when frost or snow picks out wonderful details or in Spring time when the blackbirds sing and the primroses abound or in Summer when the vivid blue of the loch contrasts the purple heather or in the Autumn when the bracken yields and clothes in hillsides in vibrant orange. The cottage looks east and faces the sun rising over Loch Dunvegan. Within a few minutes drive are the famous coral beaches, the spectacular Neist Point Lighthouse and the enchanting seat of the clan Macleod at Dunvegan Castle. Further afield but within an hour guests will find The Fairy Pools, Quirrang and the Cullin Hills. Eating out places abound but most will require a designated driver. The only exception the world famous Three Chimneys which is a mere five minutes walk. Cyclists will enjoy a number of short or longer haul loops is breathtaking locations. Those that prefer to walk can do so on local roads or on the heather clad moor. Boat trips are available from a number of points on the island including Dunvegan. Groceries can be purchased in Supermarkets in Broadford, Portree or Kyle but guests may prefer to support local grocers in Glendale and Dunvegan. The weather is changeable but never dull and beautifully complements the stunning landscape.
• Bird Song Bothy is a compact and wonderfully-appointed cottage. It's finished to a very high quality, the kitchen has everything you could ever need and the bathroom is exceptional, with a huge walk-in shower. But staying here is really all about the surroundings - there is so much glass in the cottage that you really feel like you are sitting in the spectacular scenery rather than looking at it. Even in bed, the roof window affords a fantastic view of the night sky if you don't shut the blind. The vista across Loch Dunvegan is amazing, and the cottage is handily placed for visiting Neist Point, the Coral Beach and Dunvegan Castle, and it is only a 5 minute walk across the field to the truly wonderful Three Chimneys restaurant. Highly recommended.

• We can’t say enough about this place! The view was incredible, the space was clean/modern/organized, and Angus offered great tips about activities in the local area. We are already talking about future plans to stay here again! You will be missing out if you don’t stay here.

• Super clean place and has everything we need. Very close to Neist Point which make driving on one lane road less stressful. The check-in instructions was on point. The house has sky light for watching the stars, super cool.

• Angus' place is the perfect place to come back to after a long day of discovering the Isle of Skye! It was extremely comfortable, very clean when we arrived, and has lovely views. If I ever get the chance to go back to Skye I will definitely try to stay here again.

Sarah2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
• Simply put, this Angus' place is spectacular. It was the perfect place to unwind, disconnect and enjoy this part of Scotland. The property is clean and modern, with warm touches to remind you you're in Scotland. It's equipped with everything you need and, for us, was the perfect location and resting point for all of our Skye travels. The pictures don't do the view justice. And you really are just 20 minutes from Neist Point, 45 from Storr, Quairaing, fairy pools, and more. It also helped us to tread off the beaten path a bit and discover so much more of what Skye has to offer. Would book again any day.

• Lovely cottage in a perfect location- so quiet, peaceful and beautiful. Everywhere spotless and everything you need. Definately recommended!

• Thank you Wandy and DJ For a very nice stay at Grand Marry is perfect. a beautiful place to stay in a quiet and stunning location. it was tasteful, clean and tidy with all the comforts. the kitchen is very well equipped. Skye is beautiful, the location was perfect for us to go walking .fragments of Skye we especially wanted to discover. Near the sea with a good 5 minutes walk.

Eric2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
• Wendy welcomed us with a welcome package on the kitchen table - wonderful. The cottage is well equipped, nothing is lacking. The location is breathtaking, here you will find absolute silence and darkness. We especially recommend taking a clifftop walk to Neist Point, but you should be good on foot, and accept that you can get wet feet. Back in the car (someone will surely find someone to take you).

Jörg2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
• Granny Mary's Cottage is in a wonderful location, the views from the cottage are breath-taking. We saw a sea eagle and seals from the cottage and also enjoyed rock pooling with the kids on the beach below. There is the friendly presence of the sheep and cows that roam around the village and past the cottage too. There is a lovely fenced garden in front which is a great place to sit and eat or admire the view and felt very safe for the children to play in. The cottage had everything we needed and felt very cosy. The beds are very comfortable allowing for a good night's rest. We visited many of the attractions in the North of Skye, some quite nearby, like Neist Point Lighthouse, Dunvegan Castle and the coral beach. Others were further a field but do-able daytrips like the beaches with dinosaur footprints and the Old Man of Storr in the North East. I think the only tiring part of our holiday was the driving around Skye- the roads with passing places being quite frustrating. However, it was worth all the driving for the amazing places we visited and to stay in such a wonderful location in such a lovely cottage. Wendy is a fantastic host. The cottage was spotless on arrival and Wendy had left a welcoming card and treats- beer, fudge, bookmarks and had left bubble wands for the children. She was always at the end of the phone should we need her.

• Granny Mary's is a cozy and clean house in a beautiful location! One day we saw sheep and rabbits walking around the house, the other day cows were grazing. The sea and Dunvegan Head looked different every day. Great! Everything you need is available in the cottage. There are games for the children and toys for playing outside. The rooms are cozy and immaculate. Watch out for your head because the ceilings on the upper floor are low. There were enough towels. On arrival there was a nice surprise ready. It was easy to communicate with Wendy. We had a very nice stay there!

Grahame2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
• I don’t know where to start to even describe how incredible our stay was at Brigitte’a place. The house and the room are great, as unique as you would imagine from a small house in the middle of nowhere on the Isle of Skye. Then, Brigitte, is an incredible person, very helpful, accommodating, open and with a great mindset. Every single chat with her was a good moment. I’ll finish with the breakfast that was huge, fresh and delicious who kept us in shape for the long days of hiking we had on the island. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay there longer... One of our best Airbnb experience so far, Thanks again!! If you read this because you are hesitating, you have to book now you will not regret this.

• Very comfortable cottage, super equipped, clean and very quite surrounded by a wonderful landscape. We thank Andy and his wife who provided us maps and many detailed information about interesting walks and outdoor activities we could do (as well as the fresh eggs of their hens!). Our stay was too short, that is the only negative point.

Christian2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
• Andy’s Croft is a lovely retreat away from busy life. It has all the amenities that you could need including some lovely fresh produce available to buy from Andy (recommend the eggs, potatoes & salad), a post office shop next door that really is a wee Aladdin’s cave including most things you could ever need and a beautiful cafe across the street that has some lovely lunches and cake. I enjoyed navigating past all the sheep and cows on the single track roads, the beautiful walks with views of the ocean and the craft fair in the village hall on a Tuesday. Away from the village we visited Portree, Dunvegan Castle and had a beautiful dinner at The School House. This really is a lovely place to go and stay.

Lesley2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
• A very clean and well equipped cottage in a beautiful location close to a well stocked shop/post office and near to one of the “must see” places on the island, Neist Point. Andy was a knowledgable and informative host, which was very helpful. Would stay here again.

The kitchens is equipped professionally and we absolutely loved the bread maker! Andy even provide us with some delicious eggs from his chickens! What a treat! Another note, the professionalism of Andy about his notification for the aurora, go and check out his app for all the updates about northern lights in the UK. Will surely book again in the future

No.9 is a traditionally built croft house situated in beautiful Glendale! A perfect base for walking and exploring this very special part of the world. Glendale lies 8 miles , north west , from Dunvegan where there are a couple of restaurants, bakeries, cafes, a petrol station and a very well stocked licensed grocery. Glendale is well served by a Post Office which also supplies all the basics...and much more! Beautiful Neist Point is about 4 miles from Croft No.9.
Glendale has been home for over 40 years and , though I 've seen many changes , the landscape, terrain, views......even the sometimes dreadful weather (!!) can STILL take my breath away! And I often wonder what visitors' first impressions are as they drive into the glen as the sun sets over Pooltiel. There's a lot to love about Glendale and yes...there's no place like home....I just feel fortunate to live somewhere so beautiful and constant......
• Nice house. Great fireplace to sit with a cup of tea. We liked that we had the place to our selves. The walk to neist point was lovely. Mairi was very kind and helpful.

• Mairi’s Place is lovey. Lots of room, well stocked kitchen, warm and cosy. A lovely view from the bedroom window. Sitting room is perfect for relaxing after a days walking. The road to the cottage is a single track and approximately 5 miles from the turn off, a pretty tricky road and not recommended for driving after dark. We chose to buy up in Portree Co op and spend our nights in, which was lovely.

• Mairi's cottage in Glendale is very cosy and very well located. The cottage is charming, the beds are very comfortable and the bed linen fresh, white and soft. The cottage was very clean. Communication was clear and easy. It's a great place to stay and I surely recommend.

France2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
• Really great cottage, pretty spacious, extremely clean and has everything you need. It's in a good area to travel around Skye, highly recommend.

• Cosy well equipped house (Croft). Peaceful setting. The bathroom is on the main floor so negotiating a flight of stairs is required for visits if you are in the bedroom area. Road access is by narrow single lane Scottish roads. These are the ones where there are passing points (2 cars don’t fit on them). We would stay here again if we were in the area.

• We loved our stay so much! The location is perfect for a scenic relaxing quiet get away. There’s a fabulous coffee shop and cafe a mile down the road and a post office small grocery that has a surprising good supply of things. I would say though it’s better to bring groceries with you from Kyle of lochalsh as you will get a better value and variety. Bring coffee with you because she has a great coffee maker. Mairi also thoughtfully provided some basics like milk, butter, marmalade, biscuits and juice. For dinner options there are some lovely restaurants about 10 miles away in Dunvegan and an awesome bakery. We previously have stayed in Carbost and Portree but it was lovely to stay in Glendale it’s a magical part of the island and we will definitely come back.

Jasmine2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
• We stayed at Mairi’s Croft for our honeymoon and had a great stay. The house is lovely, clean, in a good location and overall charming. I always struggle sleeping in another bed but the bed was even nicer than my own at home. The kitchen was spacious and we were able to cook our own food easily. Mairi even left us a little something to celebrate our honeymoon with. Overall we had a lovely time and would recommend Mairi’s house to anyone (and would stay again ourselves, if we get back to Skye again). Thank you again Mairi!

• We had a wonderful stay at Caroline's place. The setting couldn't be more beautiful - stunning views just out the living room window. We loved running and walking over the fields and to the ocean. The home was comfortable, clean and well prepared and Caroline was a very helpful and responsive host. We wish we could have stayed longer in this peaceful oasis.

Lele2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
• The house is wonderful We didnt want to leave. It is even better than the photos ( I think they were taken when it was first built) Having said that it is sparkly new and clean and beautifully furnished (The comfiest beds ever!) The location is outstanding and to be honest we didnt really want to go far as the view from the huge picture window was so stunning. I highly recommend the area and the house and Thank you Caroline for being such a great host we will be back!:)

Brenda2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
• Get comfortable on the edge of the world. Caroline’s place has stunning views and the house is built to make use of them. It’s in a great location to do day trips around Skye and has all the necessities to relax after taking on all the beauty of the region. Kick back and watch the sunset with your friendly neighbours - sheep and rabbit.

Jacob2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
• Amazing house with some of the most picturesque views I’ve ever seen.

Matthew2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
• Caroline's place is truly a wonderful space to rent if you are looking for a quiet spot with spectacular views. The house is immaculate, with all the amenities you could need, including washer/dryer and full kitchen. The views outside the large windows had us gazing out at the grazing sheep and cows while catching beautiful sunsets. Perfect replacement for a TV. Caroline was quick to respond to any questions we had and quickly communicated when some maintenance work was to be done the next day, impacting our use of the electricity. We only stayed for three nights but we could have easily stayed four or five. While the lighthouse could be a nice walk, it seemed farther to us and we were nervous about walking the single traffic roads through peak traveling times to the lighthouse. We also had a reservation at Three Chimneys Restaurant, which we also drove too. We loved our time on Skye and staying at Caroline's made our trip even more memorable!

Melanie2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
• The house was absolutely beautiful, and perfectly located for sunset views and delicious dinners! Exceeded our expectations by far! Thank you Caroline!

• Perfect house for a relaxing getaway on Skye. The house has everything you could need and the architecture and views of the sea and wildlife are really special. Would definitely recommend a stay here, we would go back in a heartbeat.

Laura2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
• What a fantastic getaway! We couldn’t recommend this place enough. The house is just beautiful, very well designed, cosy warm, with everything you need. It was spotlessly clean and Alan & Gill were so easy to communicate with. If you want a little time away from it all, in one of the most beautiful places you’ll find then look no further.

Nyenyezi2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
• Great place to stay. Fabulous design throughout. We could of stayed longer! Just beautiful looking out of the windows and watching birds and sheep and fishing boats. The best bed and bathroom which also had underfloor heating. Everything was great! It is comfy, stylish & cosy. We ate at the Three Chimneys which is a must if you stay, wonderful food and we were well looked after there. Thank you for building this amazing place and sharing it x

Leonie & Neil2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
• The house is beautifully designed, it was thought of everything, what you need for a week (kitchen equipment, towels, firewood, ...). You do not miss anything in this wonderful place!

Robert2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
• The Tinhouse is a beautiful modern home in a stunning location. The views are amazing and the accommodation is excellent with everything you need for a perfect stay. The ever changing skyline is captivating and you’ll never tire of just gazing out the window. A truly unique place

Lisa2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
• My wife and I stayed at Tinhouse for the last week of our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect. The home is tucked away along the hillside featuring a spectacular view of the ocean and cliffside across the bay, as well as the surrounding greenery and wildflowers. The house itself is crafted with the surrounding landscape in mind featuring natural elements, bright color pops, and windows running alongside the neighboring views. We found so much peace and refuge within Tinhouse home that it was hard to ever leave, but we also really enjoyed our time exploring the Isle of Skye and it was a great home base to visit some renowned views and hikes on the island. Overall, we had the best stay and cannot thank Alan and Gill enough for their hospitality, great communication, list of recommendations, and for creating such a wonderful home for visitors!

Andrew2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
• This is it. I am absolutely in love with the Tinhouse! Everything is exactly as it appears in the photos, the view is even better in person! You really cannot beat this view on Skye and there is some incredible scenery. I would plan my next trip to Skye around the Tinhouse's availability. It is the only place to stay.

Also, to replace any broken appliances, it can take weeks for a delivery to happen. • Great house which is actually more spacious than the pictures show. Excellent location - we woke up to the seals playing in the water just in front of the house each morning. Kitchen is very well stocked. Would definitely book again!

Joyce2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
• Such a lovely house and a great location. Amazing views out onto Loch Dunvegan, well equipped house, lots of good information provided about things to do and see on Skye. Good local restaurants in the village, all in all fantastic!

Daniel2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
• We were all excited about the accommodation. When we arrived we were immediately enthusiastic about the great view. We also liked the binoculars, there are three of them. We could observe the animal world well. Sometimes you could even see seals in close proximity, in the water and on the land exposed by the ebb tide. Each room has a view of the bay of Dunvegan, very beautiful. The kitchen is very large and well equipped. We've never had such a well-equipped kitchen before. There are lots of interesting books on the shelves. All fellow travellers confirmed they haven't slept so well in a long time. Comfortable beds and good sanitary facilities. The communication was also very good, answers always came immediatley. The tip with the app for the northern lights was also very good, but unfortunately we didn't see any. We would have had to drive a bit with the car, but we didn't dare to do that in the night with the minibus. The WLAN was also much better than expected. The place Dunvegan is really only 15 minutes walk away, there is a small grocery shop where you can buy the most necessary things. The bakery and the restaurants are good. Generally I was very surprised about the many nice small cafes and restaurants and shops in Isle of Skye. Much very beautiful and lovingly designed, beautiful websites and good food and drinks. The people were always very friendly. You definitely need a car, though. The distances are not long, but as the roads are narrow and curvy, one needs a very long time for actually short distances. All around we liked it very much. I highly recommend it. We'd come back. Many thanks.

• A beautiful place to stay, the cottage is beautiful and the views from every window are awesome. Thank you to the hosts.

• The Steading is in a beautiful, peaceful location on Skye. When in the house you feel a million miles from anywhere with a stunning view over the Loch. You’re a handy few minutes from The Old Bakery (which we visited several times...), a lovely restaurant, garage and local stores. Highly recommended.

The cabin is so cute and there are so many special touches. Stephanie went above and beyond giving us recommendations and help when we asked. Beautiful traditional stone cottage in the North West of Skye, close to Neist Point, Dunvegan Castle and the world-renowned 3 Chimneys Restaurant with stunning views of Loch Pooltiel and the Outer Isles. This is a cosy retreat (self-catering in the winter months, BnB from April - October), furnished to a high standard. The guest room has an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower and an ultra-comfortable king-size bed which also functions as two singles if required.
The Byre has recently undergone extensive renovations turning it into a cosy space with everything you'd expect in a modern house. From November - March it is available as a self-catering cottage. I live in the property from April - October and serve breakfast which is included in the price. The guest room with spacious en-suite bathroom (bath and shower) has an ultra comfortable, super king-size bed which functions also as two singles if required. All bed linen is 100% cotton for a truly restful sleep. From your bed, you will enjoy beautiful views across Loch Pooltiel and the Outer Isles.
The Byre is located in the township of Fasach in Glendale, a place made famous by the Glendale Martyrs who rose up against the landlords in the late 1880s, and ultimately forced groundbreaking land reform in Scotland. The Byre is on the road to Neist Point, an iconic Stevenson lighthouse and the setting of many a famous film. Dunvegan Castle, ancestral home of the Clan McLeod, with its magnificent gardens is only a few miles away and for the foodies, there can hardly be a better place to sample the best of Skye's local produce than at the world famous Three Chimneys restaurant, a mere 10-minute drive away. For walkers, the possibilities are endless: walk along clifftops, beaches (the Coral Beach is 20 minutes away), hills and glens. McLeod's Tables, two flat-top mountains just behind Glendale, offer amazing 360° views of the North West of Skye.
• Lynn’s en-suite room was spotless, warm and tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable and the views in the morning from it over Glendale were stunning. We were welcomed with a cup of tea and homemade shortbread. The breakfast was lovely . The cottage is pretty remote- you need a car if you want to go out in the evening for dinner. There is a couple of cafes in the village that close around 5 but nowhere you can walk to for dinner or a drink.

• First Airbnb ever and Lynn made the experience comfortable and enjoyable. Home baked bread and jam freshly made. Fabulous eggs! Fantastic location for north of the island, great choice of restaurants nearby. Definitely would return .

Jason2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
• Nothing I can add that hasn't already been said - Lynn's place is so special, you'll want to stay for longer. Although we haven't typically booked private rooms, we felt comfortable and had as much privacy as we wanted. There were even bunny rabbits frolicking in the front garden while we were being served breakfast. Magical

Daniel2019-06-21T00:00:00Z
• Lynn’s place was a wonderful respite during our time in Skye. She was a great host, giving us many suggestions for places to go and restaurants, etc...as well as making us a wonderful breakfast in the morning. Most travellers to Skye may stay in Portree but we preferred the location of the Byre as it was pretty central, with lots of great cafes and restaurants close by and it was very peaceful. Would definitely return to the Byre the next time I travel to Scotland!

Sara2019-06-06T00:00:00Z
• The Byre is a gem! Located in the Skye countryside, it is far enough away from villages to truly feel like a rural retreat, yet only about a 7 mile lamb-lined pleasant drive from the main road. Lynn definitely earns her Super-Host status with her personalized/tailored insider tips, amazing breakfasts and cheerfulness. It is easy to highly recommend The Byre.

Off the beaten-track, Osdale Farmhouse enjoys far-reaching views and a cosy interior. Experience the Highlands close up, surrounded by sheep, cattle and deer.. Ground Floor: Open plan living space: With tiled floor. Living area: With wood burner, 20" Freeview TV, DVD player and CD player. Dining area. Kitchen area: With electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. Bathroom: With bath, shower attachment, toilet, bidet and tiled floor. Separate toilet.. First Floor: Bedroom 1: With double bed and wooden floor. Bedroom 2: With twin beds and wooden floor.. Electric underfloor central heating (ground floor), electric heaters (first floor), gas, electricity, bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and logs for wood burner included. Travel cot, highchair and stairgate available on request.. Large natural garden with sitting-out area, garden furniture and BBQ. Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: The property has a natural water supply from a spring.. Osdale Farmhouse is reached by an unmade road unsuitable for low cars, and nestles beneath the Macleod’s Tables, two flat topped mountains that dominate the north west of Skye. The chief Macleod originally built the stone built farmhouse in 1870s for Donald ’Osdale’ who farmed a huge flock of sheep on the surrounding clan land. It fell into ruin on his death and was only rebuilt in 2006 by the previous owners. It is now a comfortable cottage that retains much of its original character and charm. A great place to sit, unwind and enjoy the far-reaching views or get outside and enjoy the walks from the doorstep. Today Osdale Farmhouse enjoys a modern standard, whilst retaining its highland character and charm. The open plan living areas benefit from underfloor heating and the living room has a large fireplace with a wood burner to relax by when the evenings draw in. The kitchen is a well-equipped, sociable place with a large practical boot room leading off it providing plenty of room for coats, muddy kit and muddy dogs. The farmhouse continues to be surrounded by sheep and cattle and is visited by wildlife that includes red deer and eagles. If you stay at the right time you can help yourself to the wild raspberries that grow on the plot and sit amongst the colourful fuchsias. Your only neighbour is Osdale Byre, which is at the other end of the same generous plot and the owners who live nearby and are happy to help with any queries you may have. Otherwise, the cottage sits on its own amongst the stunning landscape, making it a remarkable spot to enjoy the Highlands. However, it is easy to get to civilisation again and the cottage is close to some of Skye’s best restaurants, Dunvegan is readily accessible where you can explore the castle and visit the local shops and cafés. North west Skye offers plenty of outdoor activities including climbing and coasteering. Beach ¾ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles. Osdale Farmhouse can be booked together with Osdale Byre (UK5851) to accommodate up to 8 guests.

Our beautiful stone croft house has stunning views over Loch Pooltiel and is a great base for exploring Skye. Within a half hour drive are: - Neist Point Lighthouse - a 30 min walk from the house & one of the best places to go rock climbing! - Dunvegan Castle - The coral beaches at Claigan - The Three Chimneys Restaurant for a gourmet feast Walk straight from the doorstep, cosy up in front of the fire and keep an eye out for the magical Aurora at night. No Wi-fi but excellent 4G!
The Old Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage is a lovingly restored croft house with three comfortable bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen (we even have crab forks!), a bathroom with a view and a wonderful claw foot bath and a large sitting room with a multi-fuel stove to keep you cosy. French doors lead out to an outside eating area for a sunny breakfast or a sundowner.
Milovaig is a lovely little crofting village in the north west of the Isle of Skye. You'll see first-hand how friendly the village is and, if you are lucky, you'll come across some of the wonderful wildlife in the area. We have a wonderful colony of seals down in the harbour, a number of resident eagles, passing stags and, of course, more sheep than anyone would know what to do with! We have included a whole host of information in the folders/drawers at the cottage, but a few of our local favourites include: - Neist Point Lighthouse for the sunset - Cafe Lephin in Glendale for a delicious coffee and some yummy cake - The Oyster Shed over in Carbost, we could live off their seafood... - The coral beaches at Claigan for a gentle walk and a swim if it's sunny Find us on Facebook @oldlighthousekeeperscottageskye Find us on Instagram: @lighthousekeeperscottage_skye
• We were a group of four guys. The cottage was perfect for our stay in Sky. The cottage and the area aroud is extremely picturesque. Very comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and sparkling clean. Communication was great and check-in very easy, Emma responded promptly to all our queries. Will definitely visit again.

Michael2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
• We absolutely loved this cottage. It was perfect for what we needed. The views all around Skye are spectacular and you can’t get any more peaceful and relaxing an environment than right up in this quiet corner of Skye. Also, Neist point lighthouse is very nearby for an amazing walk and The Three Chimneys only a 10 minute drive away. The cottage itself is extremely picturesque. Inside, the fire was brilliant and kept us very warm and cosy even in the middle of winter. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen was surprisingly large and easy to cook in for the size of the cottage. We were only staying as a couple but there was plenty of space for a larger family or even two couples to stay. We were extremely sad not to be able to stay for longer and could happily spend a month here if we had the chance. The communication was great and check-in very easy. We can’t wait to come and visit again.

• The Old Lightkeeper's Cottage is a wonderful place to stay. We were there in early January when there were days where the wind was galeforce and the rain horizontal and the cottage was a haven to return to! As a family of 4 with two daughters in their early 20s this cottage was just the right size for us. Cosy and warm all the time downstairs with a lovely light and spacious well equipped kitchen, upstairs was cooler but the heaters were up to the job overnight and the sounds of the weather can be a little intrusive. Wide range of DVDs, board games and books to help while away the long winter evenings. Wooly lawn-mowers appeared most days, even in the worst of the weather so clearly dedicated to their job! We loved Skye and will certainly return. When we make our plans to do so we will definitely look to see if the cottage is available and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Roger2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
• Nice place to stay. We were 6 people. Everything was fine.

Patrick2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
• The cottage completely exceeded our expectations it was warm, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our four night stay in Skye. The Log fire was fantastic as was the roll top bath with a view. Fantastic directions and instructions meant even on a pitch black stormy evening we were able to find the cottage. Milovaig is a fantastic location to explore the island from. We loved Stein Inn for log fires, drinks and food, Fairy pools, Coral beaches and the old man of Storr all worth a visit. We would thoroughly recommend a visit to the cottage and would love to return in the future.

The place is close to Dunvegan on the Isle Of Skye. You’ll love the place because of the views, the outdoors space, and the ambiance. The place is good for couples and solo adventurers. Its a small but cosy little self catering chalet in a wonderful out of the way location.
Its a small but comfortable 2 bedroom Chalet. Situated under the north Macleod's table, the setting is quiet and private.
Its quiet, private and peaceful. Definitely off the beaten track and ideal if you want a nice quiet time away. Its situated in a small township 2 miles from Dunvegan, towards Glendale. The Three Chimneys Restaurant is only a mile and a half away. You can also look behind you and think about climbing the Macleod's table behind you, its not a taxing climb and offers great views of the surrounding area on a clear day. Check for the history of the mountain and why it's called Macleod's Table!
• Great host and a very nice place to stay! Thanks Iain :)

Kathrin2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
• We got exactly what we expected - a cozy place to stay on Skye. Everything that we needed was there and Iain was a great host. As a bonus, there's almost no light sources near chalets, making for a perfect spot to look at the night sky. One minor note: last hundred meters of public road is not in the best of condition, so in case you are renting a car you might want to avoid saloon cars with almost no ground clearance. You won't have a problem with regular cars (or even SUVs), but we've been rented a Mercedes A class, which was really not suitable.

Simon2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
• The chalets are in a remote location at the foot of Mcleods Table. The road in is a bit challenging in the dark. They chalets are in a group of three and you can see the sea from the front windows. A brook runs behind and there is the gentle sound of running water. Ian is a great host. He was around when we arrived and had put heaters on to make the chalet really cosy. Just what we needed after an epic drive up from England. The accommodation is simple but comfortable with a full kitchen and bathroom. Shower was hot and although the electricity is on a meter there was plenty of credit and the cost was minimal. There is no live tv but access to You Tube, Netflix and movies. The wifi was spot on. There is a shop in Dunvegan but also a big Coop in Broadford which you pass quite soon after arriving on the island. I would recommend stopping on your way in or bringing supplies with you otherwise it's a bit of a drive if you want a choice. However we loved exploring the island which was majestic.

Sue2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
• We loved our stay in Iain's Chalet, it was for sure one of the highlights of our stay in Scotland. The area is amazing, very secluded, quiet and the scenery beautiful. The Chalet is much larger than it looks and very cosy and comfortable. Iain is a superb host, helpful, kind, fun and giving space at the same time. We cannot recommend this place enough and hope to be back soon.

Norman2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
• The chalet was great! We spent two nights here and loved the area. We were so grateful to be able to use Iain's washer & dryer as we had been here for almost a week.

Ashley2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
• The little cottage has met our expectations. The location is wonderful and we felt very comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped with only oil to bring. We'll be back!

• It was fantastic that we could see the seals from our kitchen window and from the bedrooms every day! What an experience! The location is good because you can really explore the island. Recommended.

• Great location for day trips on Skye. Loved watching the seals each day from the back garden

• Barbara’s house was the perfect location for our trip to Skye. My husband and I travelled with our 5 month old son and our terrier. The house was spotlessly clean and comfortable and had everything we all needed for the week. We particularly appreciated all the information and tips on things to do in the area. We loved the view from the kitchen and bedroom and enjoyed watching the seals in the bay. Dunvegan is well placed for exploring Skye and we would recommend Barbara’s place as a base!

Frances2019-06-08T00:00:00Z
• This is our second time staying at Barbara's house in Dunvegan. Big enough to comfortably accommodate myself, my husband and 3 teenagers. Very clean and well equipped. The best thing has to be the views from the house of Loch Dunvegan, they are stunning. There's a few good restaurants within walking distance and a well stocked shop and bakery too. Great Base for exploring Skye. Thanks again Barbara.

Liz2019-04-06T00:00:00Z
• We will gladly return to this charming house

Marjorie2018-10-30T00:00:00Z
• Barbara’s house was lovely with a beautiful view over the loch. The local wildlife was great, especially the seals! Barbara has made the house homely and even left milk, eggs, whisky and a bottle of wine for us. It has everything you need. Thanks for a great stay!

Amy2018-10-23T00:00:00Z
• Barbara was always available and replying to our texts prior to our arrival and during the stay. The house is really nice and cozy, with a lot of details (thank you for the wine, Barbara!) that made us feel like home. The location of the house is fantastic and allowed us to move by car and arrive at the diferent locations within 30-40 min. The landscape from the backyard is fantastic! The weaterh didn't allow us to completely enjoy the trip, so when we come back, we will check the availability of the house! Totally recommended!

Looking for a clean and cosy bed in a house where you will be encouraged to make yourself feel at home, relax and put your feet up then this might be for you.
Dunvegan is a nice friendly small village. It is beside the loch so ideal place to watch the wildlife. Dunvegan castle is a short walk and we have a few cafes, bakery, grocery shop, fruit & nut shop and popular local restaurant not forgetting the local pub. The oldest inn in skye is 15 mins drive and edinbane inn owned by musicians with regular traditional music sessions is also a short drive away. Both serve good pub food too. Fancy some fine dining then loch bay and three chimney are a 10-15 min drive. Booking recommended as the restaurants during the summer can get very busy.
• Very quiet, clean and warm place. Views from the shared living room are stunning. Mayanne is a great host, very friendly and considerate. 100% recommended.

• I stayed here for 1 night during my road trip on the Isle of Skye and the place itself was perfect for a nice shower and a warm comfy bed to sleep on. The host was amazing too. Her and her friend actually were kind enough to give us a lift to a local restaurant where my friend and i had dinner with them. The breakfast the next morning was also delicious. I have stayed in dozens of Airbnb’s but I must say that this is the best one I have ever stayed in hands down!
