“A really neat place to ride mountain bikes and access the infamous Dixon Trail. I helped build the Dixon Trail in the fall of 2018. It takes an average person about 5-6 hours (round-trip) to hike. Similar to to the Manitou Incline, this is a pretty tough hike, so you will need to plan ahead before attempting. Some interesting history: On Oct. 12, 1957, a T-33 training plane attempting an instrument landing at Peterson Airfield slammed into the southern shoulder of Cheyenne Mountain. Ruins of the plane are are still present...unfortunately the two pilots did not survive. ”
