Lisa was an excellent host - so welcoming and accommodating! She even cooked us an amazing dinner one night. Her house is right on a beautiful beach - we went for a run on it every morning! You will definitely need a rental car if you stay there as it is a bit out of town and there is no public transportation on Eleuthera. Lisa helped us arrange a rental car and even dropped it off and picked it up for us free of charge. If/when we head back to Eleuthera will definitely stay with her again!

Lisa's place on Double Bay was perfect for our short island getaway. Beautiful, quiet secluded beach on the Atlantic side, with a nearby beautiful beach on the Caribbean side when the Atlantic was too rough. Close to Palmetto Point, Governor's Harbour and Island Farms (fresh bread on Tues and Fridays to die for!) She arranged a rental jeep and transportation to and from the airport which was very convenient for our first visit. Spacious and comfortable room. Very interesting home: architecture, art, furnishings, wall murals, etc. Hosts were very warm and welcoming.

I had a wonderful stay at Lisa's beautiful home. She is a great host and doesn't mind going the extra mile. Lisa and her son Chris showed me around and were very helpful throughout my stay. I can highly recommend staying with Lisa! And I'd love to visit again.

We love Eleuthra and this was the perfect place to stay. If you love peace and quiet on a private beach this should be your choice. Our host, Lisa, was warm and welcoming, treating us like old friends. The room is spacious with its own entrance and bath. It is attached to a beautiful house on the beach. You can use the a/c or open the windows for a wonderful sea breeze. The room is complete with a refrigerator, microwave and beach towels. There is a large patio where you can see the water and relax with a glass of wine. You will need to rent a car as her home is located several miles outside of town. It is very secluded but Lisa met us and showed us the way. She is familiar with a the restaurants in town and was able to get us into the most popular spot in town although they were already booked for Christmas Eve dinner. We will definitely stay here when we return. Thank you, Lisa, for being such a wonderful host!

This was our first visit to Eleuthera and we really enjoyed staying at The View. The location was close to town yet secluded enough to be very quiet too. Great people, beaches, and sights and our host Franco was very helpful and provided excellent advice. Looking forward to returning some time.

This house is amazing! If you're looking to get away from it all, this is your place! The view from the deck is amazing and it's the perfect little spot to unwind, with the beach just a short walk away. It's also very conveniently located on Eleuthera for you to easily get to Harbour Island and Spanish Wells for day trips. Eric was great in answering any questions I had prior to arriving and Franco was super helpful and friendly with checkin/checkout and provided great information on where to pick up groceries, who to rent a car from, and things to do/places to go. I highly recommend this place!

Excellent central location for a vacation on a budget. The VIEW is well equipped with all the thrifty vacationers needs - kitchen equip, cooler, bedding and all very clean. It's a perfect balance of comfort and rustic. We totally enjoyed the outdoor living on the deck with that spectacular VIEW. We'll be back!

Great place to stay, don't think twice

This place was absolutely amazing! Eric's place offered us everything we were looking for. A clean, basic home with a spectacular view of the Atlantic. Franco, the care taker, was incredibly kind and helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay easy and pleasant. The walk to the beach is a short limestone jaunt away. Town is about 2 miles away. Gregory town is full of kind people always greeting you will a hello and a smile. Don't hesitate to accept a ride from the many people who will offer you one as you're walking into town, hitchhiking is the way to get around! It's an incredibly safe area and you will not regret your stay at surfers beach. If you don't feel like walking/riding into town there's a great local restaurant about a five minute walk away. Definitely plan on coming back.

My girlfriend and I stayed there for 4 nights, it was a great stay. The place is spotless and very cozy. We had a little miscommunication with the property manager, Franco, about a couple things, like pick up times and whatnot, but nothing major at all. We were also under the impression that the check out time is flexible as it is listed as such on AirBnB. But that wasn't the case as we needed to check out by 11 am which was a little inconvenient because we had a 5 pm flight. So we needed to rent a car for an extra day to kill time or take Francos offer to drive us to the airport for 30$ at 11 am and wait there for approximately 6 hours. Also our WiFi was incredibly slow, we ended up just keeping our data on as it was far more reliable. We had to get an international data plan while we were there, which we hadn't planned for. But aside from those little things, the place itself is fantastic. Location is great, although you'll want to rent a car for your stay. The beach near the cabin is lovely and only a 10 minute walk. Many gorgeous beaches are a 10-15 minute drive away. There's a couple caves near by that were fun to explore. We had eaten at Francos nearby restaurant in Gregory Town which was excellent. Overall we enjoyed are stay very much and would recommend.

We just had a splendid time at Andrea's. The very beautiful house and the garden are even bigger than we thought and the beaches around amazing. it's very cool that Andrea even provides snorkelling equipment. The kitchen is fully équipes so that you can do nice dinners. We recommand to every one to join Andrea's place you will have a wonderful time!

Thanks to Andrea we had an amazing stay! The house is really nice and charming with all you need inside. To visit south Eleuthera it is the perfect place, calm and quiet but also close to everything by car. It is really clean and you have a big fridge if you want to shop all you groceries in once. The environment is quite wild, with no much people, but a very nice restaurant about 2 minutes drive where you can eat fresh fish, ask for advices, they are super helpful. We strongly recommand to rent an SUV car, because in the Bahamas there are many durt roads and you will be safer, especially if you want to go to the lighthouse beach (which is absolutely a must-see, best beach ever at least!!). Andrea could arrange this rent for us as well as a day trip to the Exumas, where you can swim with the pigs, snorkell at the Thunderball grotto, and chill at the Staniel Cay Yatch Club. Julie&Bruno

Catherine's house is terrific. It has everything you need for a perfect visit to the island and Catherine insured that all of the details were handled. We enjoyed playing pool while taking a break from the sun and there was snorkeling gear and chairs to insure a great trip to the pink beaches. Found the heated pool a great relief after a day and night of sumptuous meals and drinks. Can't think of an amenity that wasn't provided. Think her description of her place is understated. Location was perfect, just far enough from the active center of town. Look forward to a followup trip.

Houses are really super-praise! Two! There are board games billiard computer! ! There are many details really praise! ! Really superb! In addition to the salty water is nothing really satisfied with it! Did so only because the holiday is more expensive to rent for one night, next time to rent is really not just one night, one night too wasted! ! Really good!

Catherine was a fantastic host. Harrison and Thomassa were great as was the golf cart rental organized through them. The house is located in a great spot. A short walk to the beach and a short ride to town. Beds were so comfortable and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need to enjoy meals at home. Pool area and porch were relaxing. Can't wait to return!

Just back in the UK today after a fabulous week in Harbour Island. The house 'The Hideaway' was perfect for our needs. Clean, homely, clean towels everyday, beds changed during the week. All home comforts and amenities, we wanted for nothing. Location perfect as away from the noisier parts of the island, ie harbour front, bars, etc but close enough to walk or use the golf buggies we hired. Service from the hire company was superb. Thomassa cleaned through every day and although we didn't use her cooking services, we saw from the Guest Book that she comes highly recommended. Would definitely book this house again if we get the chance to return to Harbour Island which is idyllic. Not sure it would be suitable with small children as lots of stairs (inside and out) and only two bathrooms but that didn't affect us! Locals all very friendly and happy which can sometimes not be the case in parts of the Caribbean! Harbour Island is a very special place and we would all love to go back for longer to explore more of that part of the Bahamas. However, with that BEAUTIFUL beach on the doorstep, why go anywhere else??!! The owner was efficient in answering any queries and the issues we had (our stupidity!) was resolved immediately. Highly recommended!!!

Clean, bright, breezy, spacious, comfortable, peaceful, perfect. Lucia is very thoughtful, providing everything we needed, lots of homey touches and more. Well equipped kitchen, drinking water supply, even a loaf of homemade bread waiting for us in the freezer! The patio is the perfect place to curl up and read if it's too windy for the beach. The whole space has been well thought out and executed. Great communication, too. Can't say enough good things about Lucia and her place.

Lucia was a fabulous host for our week on Spanish Wells. Villa Anna provided exactly the kind of comfortable, simple living we were hoping for. All the appliances work perfectly, there's comfortable seating inside and out and a good sense of privacy. Lucia lives downstairs, and is very easily contacted if you have any problems or need any advice. There's cable TV in the bedroom if you feel like staying in. The best thing, of course, is that the lovely beach is only a couple of minutes' stroll away! If you're planning a trip to Spanish Wells, this is your place!

Lucia picked me up at the water taxi in her golf cart which is the most widely used transportation on the island. On the way home she gave me the nickel tour, which is all I needed since the island is only as big as a nickel. The property was exactly how it was advertised, and Lucia obviously went through a lot of trouble to make it feel like home...and she succeeded!! Those cushions are now blue, and I spent untold hours lying on them feeling the Bahamian sun on my body, watching the clouds go by. It was a lovely property and Lucia gave me all the space I needed, but I always felt that she was around if I needed anything..She offered her bike, and that was my mode of transportation, that and my feet. The neighborhood was quiet, clean, friendly neighbors, one block from the most beautiful, pristine beach. Most days I had the ocean and the beach to myself, quite a gift, and turn around from the chaos of south Florida. Lucia is great, and I can't wait to go back. Thanks Lucia...

Wow where do I start? Our stay with Lucia was amazing!! The photos really don't do it justice, her place is so perfectly charming with every amenity you could ever want. Its only a 5 minute walk (a block maybe?) to a gorgeous beach, 5 minute walk to ice cream. Lucia has bikes that you can use and we definitely took advantage of that, the grocery store and everything else on Spanish Wells is totally accessible by bike. She also picked us up and dropped us off at the ferry took us for groceries and gave lots of advice for things to do/places to go. Because there is a full and well appointed kitchen, we were able to cook most of our own meals. Pro Tip: check the refrigerator and cupboard before you go to the grocery store, you may find things already there that you need. Also the apartment has REALLY great AC which we fully appreciated. We really loved Lucia, her adorable apartment, her cute kitties and sweet dog Bear. We look forward to a return visit.

I don't know what to add to all these great reviews...! So, not surprisingly, our stay at Lucia's was wonderful! She arranged for transportation from the airport, the apartment is beautiful and cosy and has everything you need (she leaves water coffee/tea, bread and a few grocery items in the fridge for your arrival) the deck is great for eating outside or just sunbathe if the beach is too windy... Speaking of wind the beach (which is amazingly beautiful) is great for kiteboarding :) We felt so relaxed! Lucia is very easy to reach and super attentive to your needs, yet she will leave you as much privacy as you want. Oh and she gives the best massages! I can't recommend this place enough!

I would recommend staying here for 2-3 days. We stayed 2 and it was just enough time to explore and keep it moving. Very quiet town. Not much going on. The home was exactly as described.

This is a truly remarkable place to unwind and relax. We explored the island and are so glad we chose Eleuthera over Harbour Island. The people are extremely friendly, including James and his wife Tasha. We had a blast fishing and getting conch on his boat. We slept with the doors open most nights, although the bugs were still out feasting. For those we can't unplug, we had cell service at the house on BTC with $10/day roaming rates on ATT and Verizon. Not that you should be on your phone at all at this house!

The Tree House is a wonderful open space, and feels much like...a treehouse for adventurous adults! Scott was very easy to get a hold of, and answered all of my questions promptly. His caretaker, James Munroe went well above and beyond his duties and made sure we were well cared for. He took us out snorkeling, line fishing, conching, and crawfish hunting - which in Bahamian is actually LARGE spiny lobsters! The space itself is wonderful, and you cannot beat the view. There is an endless view of the "flats" which you can walk along forever as it is clear, shallow water as far as the eye can see. The town of Current is a bit secluded, all the way on the North end of the island - and a car is a must. We organized that through Scott, who made it very easy. As far as amenities, there is an ice maker(!), electric stove, toaster, coffee pot, coffee grinder, and I believe I spied a popcorn maker too. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and shower. Hot water is hard to come by - there is a water heater with a very limited reservoir. We happened to be there during an unseasonable cold front - and would have appreciated more hot water - but I imagine during the rest of the very warm and humid year it is not a big deal. We had a wonderful time at the Tree House - it felt more like glamping (glamorous camping) as the lack of amenities such as TV and wifi really allowed us to connect with each other and the community. If that is what you are looking for, then this is the perfect spot for you. I highly recommend the Tree House to anyone wanting to visit the Land of Freedom!

Very nice house, very nice place. In absence of the owner, James is there to welcome you. Well placed to spend the day in Spanish Well and / or Harbor Island. The feet in water. Fully equipped.

This is the perfect spot for anyone who truly wants to get away. The home was beautiful and right on the water. Far enough away from the larger areas (which are still quite tiny on Eleuretha) so the stars at night are so beautifully visible. We left the doors open at night with the bug nets on the bed and fell asleep to the tide washing over the rocks. I'll come back to this exact spot again. From the location and quaintness of the home to my experiences with meeting Scott and James it was the most easy going on enjoyable vacation. A few things you should know before you go. Bring a flashlight (it is pitch black at night, I used the flashlight to bring stuff in at night from the car and during a low tide I walked the sandbar and looked at jelly fish and crabs in the water), your own warm blanket (as there where only sheets), towels , and pack coffee and whatever you put in your coffee in your checked bag ( its really expensive and not very fresh, there is a French press and a coffee maker -bring the filters for the tiny coffee maker), and prepare yourself for cold showers (there is a water heater but it lasts for only five seconds). This is a perfect get away for anyone who doesn't want the typical tourist experience. You will not be dissatisfied unless your idea of a vacation is crowds and wifi.

I stayed at the Treehouse for three days and was absolutely thrilled with the design, aesthetics, simplicity and beauty. I prefer a place with character and the Treehouse serves that up well. I was there with a co-worker and friend, we each had a room and it felt very private but also open, airy and cool. Scott was easy to communicate with and put us in very good hands with James, a dear man who took us out on a tour of the cut, where we grabbed conch for bait, fished, walked on the water and learned about Current, a special place where I hope to return soon. Overall I'd highly recommend this house- The couple who left before us, gave an excellent description. We didn't want to leave!

The tree house is a spectacular setting and a great retreat away from the hustle and bustle. It is basic, remote and relaxing. The challenge for us was the food available on the island. Very limited options for fresh produce. The sites of north Eleuthera are not the reason to go. The remote beaches are great. We enjoyed the experience but with the high winds the fisherman were not out so the food options were really limited. The house itself was great.

The treehouse is great for a few nights! Make sure to head out onto the boat with James! You won't regret it! There's a grocery store and a liquor store past the Rubis (sp)! It's possible to get fresh fish at any of the local docs, however make sure you're there between 3:30-5:00p.m. otherwise they head home for dinner and you'll miss em! Eleuthera is a beautiful island, but it's definitely more residential and remote! Make sure to visit Queen's Bath and the Pink Sand Beaches!

Down by the Seaside was the perfect house for our family holiday vacation. There was plenty of space for 7 adults and 3 children. The house is on a private, oceanfront property at the end a quiet road, yet walking distance to Tarpum Bay stores and the fishing dock. Our local hosts Fred and Portia were wonderful, made sure we had everything we needed, and suggested a number of great beaches to visit, many of which we had to ourselves. The kitchen is very well equipped, there are two living rooms (one with TV, which was great for the kids) and a front porch to enjoy coffee and cocktails. There are 2 kayaks (also life jackets, water shoes, and pretty much any water supplies you need) which we used daily for exploring the coastline. There is a firepit right next to the water for grilling fresh fish from the dock and watching the sunset, and a great outdoor shower with hot water that helps keep sand out of the house. South Eleuthera is not for everyone-- there is not much tourism and not a lot of restaurant options (especially during the holidays). But if you are willing to cook for yourself and experience the Bahamas more like a local, Down by the Seaside makes a great home base for exploring the island. The house located directly at the sea was just amazing. Everything was as described. Kelly and portia are very friendly hosts with lots of helpful informations about restaurants, markets or attractions u will not find in the usual guides. I will come back to this paradise place!

Our stay in the Sea Spray cottage was great! From the moment we've made our reservation, Marielbys and Cecil were so responsive and nice. They also put us in contact with some car rental, kayak rental options, which was very helpful. Early check-in was not a problem and the cottage was the same as in the pictures. Very cute, small place with an amazing view for a really good price! We liked the location as well. However, you would need a car in this island to explore all the beautiful beaches. The location of the sea spray cottages is more like a residential area and we had the chance to interact with many Bahamian people with great hospitality. Overall, we really enjoyed our vacation and would definitely recommend this place! We will come back again !:)

Everything was great except for the WiFi not working in the cottage because it's a neighbors internet. Location was beautiful and the caretakers were very nice.

Sea Spray Cottage is perfect for the essentialist - a cute little studio with no room for frills. The setting is FANTASTIC and you will surely be living on the small deck overlooking the bay. The sea breeze flows right through the cottage so we didn't need the AC once (in February). Be sure to stop by Twin Brothers for some panfried deliciousness. Small, beautiful, empty beaches abound in Eleuthera. It's quite remote and the people are lovely.

The Sea Spray Cottage is a wonderful experience. It is very small so it's a max 2 person place. The view is outstanding and the snorkeling right below is good.

This adorable cottage has amazing views! It offers the perfect setting for a couple to unwind from the hustle bustle. Here you don't need wifi or tv because falling alseep to the sounds of the ocean and waking up to the beautiful blue and crystle clear waters is more then enough.

Lovely cottage with great hosts and lovely neighbors. A guest who stayed a few weeks before us left a very helpful map marked up with handwritten notes about where to go that we used every day! We highly recommend the Rainbow Inn for dinner. Only thing that would make this place better would be chaise/lounge chairs on the porch to lay on when we were too tired to go anywhere but still wanted some sun. Otherwise, perfect!

Nicole and Cecil made us feel welcome immediately. They greeted us on arrival, earlier than check-in time, and allowed us to go straight to the cottage. The space is represented accurately in the photos and description. It is small but cute and so bright and airy. The view is incredible. You can climb down some rocks to the beach which is great for snorkelling or you can walk a few minutes to the local town beach. We were provided with a full list of other amenities and recommendations on the island. We went to most that were mentioned and were not disapointed! Cecil and Nicole also let us check out at our covenience and without hesitation. This was really helpful as our flight wasn't until later that day. I would highly recommend Sea Spray Cottage. It is the perfect romantic get away - in fact, so pefect that my boyfriend and I got engaged! Thank you for a wonderful stay Marieblys, Cecil and Nicole!

Really great house. Sharon was easy to deal with and was an excellent snorkeling guide 2 spots per day. We caught our dinner and all the all we needed was in the garden or fridge. Perfect house for an island experience. I will return to the Sha Shack for sure.

Sharon provided us with valuable inside info about the Island. She promptly provided feedback to our questions and included detailed info to help us plan and explore. Sharon is friendly, has a warm personality and takes great care to understand the needs of her guests. We were unable to stay with Sharon but she made alternative arrangement and took care of all the bookings! (Sharon even continued to assist us even-though we were not her guests). We really hope to visit T-Bay again and would definitely book with Sharon again! I would recommend her to any family that wants to experience the true Eleuthera culture . Thanks Sharon !!!

Very quiet, secluded and comfy place without any neighbours, well located in the middle of Eleuthera with good (car) access to great beaches.

It is one of my most happiest things during my vacation in Bahamas to have booked a room of Sarah’s in Eleuthera on AIRBNB. As a tourist who began to experience the international B & B since 2009, I would like to say, Sarah is the best landlord I have met. First of all, she is warm, cordial, gentle, familiar with the local customs, but insists on her personal characteristics as a non-local resident. Besides, she knows how to protect the privacy of visitors, and keeps a very appropriate distance while taking care of the guests carefully and thoughtfully. From the room conditions, Sarah's seaside villa is not large, but very neat and has everything that guests expect to find. She always maintains her rigorous style as a German, but she loves nature, like sports and fitness, and lives a happy life with her dogs at the seaside; therefore, the room is decorated very warm and bright -The room I live in is decorated with mint green home furnishings, and what comes into view is a courtyard full of sunshine and bougainvillea speetabilis when you open the window, where there are also naughty dogs greeting with you. Every morning, Sarah and her fellow friends would prepare fresh coconut milk, fresh ground coffee and healthy breakfast for me. In the morning when I needed to catch the plane at 5:00, Sarah specially got up early to prepare me a breakfast that can be taken out, specifically saying: “the oranges are very sweet”. As a tourist resort of the Bahamas, Eleuthera is quiet with a small population and spectacular scenery, and the world famous Harbour Island pink beach is just in the neighborhood. However, you probably do not know that there is also an untraversed costless pink beach on the south side of the island that is not far from Sarah’s residence. This important tourist information is also what Sarah told me. The map she provides to you about the entire island is very important, and the information is also very comprehensive. The FRANCH LEAVE restaurant she recommended has well-deserved magnificent sunset as she said (but please beware of small mosquitoes). She also recommended many other restaurants, bars and tourist information to me. I will never forget Sarah's warm heart. She not only told me that I could be picked up at the nearest airport for free before my visit, but also helped me to find the luggage lost in Chicago three days ago, during which she helped me to communicate with the governments over and over again and get back my luggage from the airport at the middle part of Eleuthera. I was really moved to cry! When I didn’t have any clothes to change, she presented me the shorts, slippers and even underwear (of course, I felt too embarrassed to accept it). I have ended the journey, but always miss her, her house, her friends and her dogs. I strongly recommend all the friends who are interested in Eleuthera stay...

Sarah was a very welcoming hostess and her communication before our arrival was great. She was able to recommend a great beach for our last day in The Bahamas and was a fun and interesting person to chat to!

Sarah was such an amazing host, she really went above and beyond to make sure my stay was incredibly memorable. From greeting me with a delicious breakfast and a fresh coconut in the mornings to giving me great tips for exploring Eleuthera and discovering it's beautiful scenery. I can't recommend staying with her highly enough! The room is lovely and exactly as shown in the photos. Her home was beautiful and cozy, very close to Governor's Harbour in the centre of the island - a perfect location and just a stone's throw from one of the most beautiful pink sand beaches in the Bahamas. Derek and Sarah were great hosts - helpful and friendly. The B&B is a townhouse that is 10 metres or so from my bedroom window. The sound of the waves was soothing. Clean and spacious bedroom. Tasty and filling breakfast.

Great and friendly host (Arlene), easy communication and quick responses, great apartment with all needed amenities, and good central location (close to highway and only ~10 minute drive to Governor's Harbour). Arlene also provided great practical information about the island.

Everything was perfect. The house fits described in the notice. It is very cozy and with everything you need to make your stay wonderful. The decor of the house is beautiful and has all appliances. It also provides material for water sports such as kayaking, ... The house is located in the center of the island and boasts a spectacular beach nearby. The attention paid Juan was unbeatable. We came to the airport to pick up and they left a car for the entire stay. Definitely a place ara repeat.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Juan's place for three nights and we warmly recommend his place! The house is beautiful, very clean, well equipped (for cooking, watching DVDs or reading, washing clothes etc.). The cottage is perfectly located, it's a few minutes' walk from gorgeous beaches. The environment is super peaceful and quiet (the starry sky at night is spectacular) but there are also local restaurants and bars around. Juan was very attentive and whenever we had a question or a problem (how to get somewhere etc.) he was super approachable and made sure we got to all the parts of the island we wanted to explore(URL HIDDEN)

We adored this lovely homey comfortable cottage. Pictures are accurate. Inside a gated community and a very short walk to a lovely quiet beach. Short drive from Governor's Harbour where there are convenience stores and other amenities. Wayne collected us from the airport and left us with the SUV which was very necessary for exploring the island. Juan checked in with us to ensure there was nothing we wanted for - there was nothing. Juan's cozy cottage was absolutely perfect! My husband and I stayed for a week over our wedding anniversary, and we were very satisfied with our entire experience. The description is very accurate and the beach is even more beautiful in person! Juan was very easy to communicate with, as he was quick to respond to our inquiries during our booking process and our stay. While Juan wasn't able to be on Eleuthera during our visit, he did meet us at the airport in Nassau and he arranged transportation for us from the airport in Eleuthera. It was so nice of him to take time out of his day to come and meet us in Nassau! He supplied us with his phone number and numbers for the care taker on the island. (We didn't need to use it, as we didn't have any problems!) Juan sent us a few messages to make sure we arrived were situated. Juan and his wife are wonderful, caring people, and they genuinely care about their guests! The cottage is located in the perfect spot. We could hear the waves from our bedroom as we slept, and enjoyed walking the beach each morning at sunrise. We were about a five minute walk, or just a minute or two by bike from the beach on the Atlantic side. We had the entire beach to ourselves the whole time! The location is private and cozy and we felt extremely safe during our entire stay. We loved the beachy-decor this idyllic cottage has. We had the windows open the entire time and didn't need the air conditioning at all. The large windows provide a wonderful breeze, and the beautiful marble floors help keep things cool. The only thing I regret is not staying longer! We will absolutely be back to this charming cottage! This is a wonderful value, especially considering the SUV included in the rate! We really enjoyed our time at Juan's house. Eleuthera is incredible, and having four days on totally secluded beaches was beyond what we could've imagined in terms of the perfect vacation. Juan was also a very responsive host, letting us meet the caretaker Wayne early to check in and recommending a car rental agency that would meet our needs. (We went with Big Daddy and they were great!) The reviews of Juan's house didn't quite cover the range of pros/cons, so there were a few surprises; I've tried to outline everything for future travelers! Here's what we liked about the house itself: it's in a safe, quiet neighborhood and is about a thousand feet from a gorgeous beach on the Atlantic where we never saw another person. We honestly couldn't believe our luck with the incredible beach. The downstairs of the house is open and easy to hang out in, and the kitchen is good for basic cooking and eating -- pots, pans, dishes, etc. are all there, and we cooked every night and ate at the lovely dining table. The kitchen also has some simple amenities, like a coffee maker, blender, salt and pepper, etc. The downstairs bedroom is comfortable with a nice air conditioner and ceiling fan, and the upstairs area is very charming if a little warm. The location is about ten minutes' drive from Governor's Harbor proper, and ten minutes from the airport, so it's centrally located and a wonderful spot to set out for exploring all of Eleuthera. There's also an unpaved road at the end of the main road that's good for a morning run, or that will take you to other parts of the island along the Atlantic where you can grab a drink or some food, or explore other beaches. What we wish we'd known: the downstairs bathroom looks nice but is only mostly functional... the toilet ran almost the whole time we were there, the shower curtain fell down repeatedly, the shower's water pressure kicked on our last day, and the sink inexplicably only has a "spray" setting. There is a washer and dryer, but the washer is rusty and doesn't drain, and the dryer keeps running when you open it. The back porch probably isn't kid-safe; much of the wood looks rotten, there's some exposed tar, and lots of hornets. Another thing worth noting because you'll notice it, but which was not a problem and wasn't ultimately a "con" at all, is that there's a boarded up house next door. If you stay here, keep in mind that Eleuthera is expensive and that the house is a great deal compared to what's around. We ended up buying some essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, a dish sponge, laundry detergent, olive oil, and coffee and tried to "pay it forward" by leaving as much there as we could. Also, as others have said, you MUST have a car if you're staying here. Bottom line: I'd recommend Juan's house to anyone looking...

Wonderful stay with our family of 4. We enjoyed the home, it had everything needed. Even some kids toys for the beach! The beach is a short couple minute walk. I would highly recommend this place to everyone!

Juan and his site manager, Wayne, were very welcoming and helpful. The cottage is located in a gated community with a lot of privacy which are both good things. The closest beach is only a short walk away on the Atlantic side of the island but my purpose was to spend as much time in the water snorkeling and looking at sea life so I spent most of my time on the Caribbean side of the island. Having the car was indispensable for this. I really enjoyed Eluethera and hope to be back soon and often. When I do go back I hope Juan's place is available because it was ideal for my purposes and very comfortable.

We had an awesome time on Eleuthera and loved staying in the cottage. It has everything you need, really good cooking equipment, a pretty veranda, super comfortable beds and a super comfortable couch :) Also, you can reach great beaches and places, and grocery stores, easily from there. Melisa is a very nice and chill person and we got along pretty well. Thank you! We really enjoyed our time in your cottage :)

What a beautiful beach house! Sooo much better than the pictures. Light colours, big spaces, really nice interior design, full equipped, so quite, so amazing! We felt really lucky for finding this place and I just can't wait to be back! Nicely located in the middle of the island half way to the north and the south. Don't think twice we you're looking for your place on the outstanding island of Eleuthera :D

Our stay on Eleuthera was great! The cottage was very clean, comfy, and spacious. The cottage came with access to snorkel gear and beach chairs. Melisa was a fantastic host and made us feel very welcome. She was very helpful in organizing airport transfers and a car rental. I would definitely return to Cat Nap cottage in the future.

The house was exactly like we expected it to be. Nice, clean and in a quiet neighbourhood. It had all the facilities we needed like kitchennecessities, AC, WIFI, etc. We were even able to use snorkling gear. However, we didn't manage to turn the AC in the kitchen on. The one at the bedroom was working well. We did not meet Melisa herself, but she was well reachable via Airbnb. When the power went off in the area, she contacted us right away. Melisa offered to arrange a rental car and airport transfer which we refused. It was nice of her willing to help but we managed to arrange it much cheaper and more efficient since our car was waiting for us at the airport (no airport transfers needed). The apartment is located in the middle of the island. We explored the northern part in one day, the southern part on another and at the third day we visited beaches on the east side of the island. We loved Eleuthera, this island is exactly like the pictures you'll see on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps when you search for 'Bahamas'. The most beautiful spots on the island in our opinion: * Queen's Bath; * Lighthouse Beach; * French Leaves Beach. In addition we advice to rent a car with a 4-wheel drive to explore lighthouse beach and other 'off road' places. Thanks Melisa for your hospitality!

The house was great. Melisa had Menus from the surrounding restaurants, map of the island, etc. and very responsive.

Melisa is a wonderful host! She picked us up at the North Eleuthera airport (extra$80 round trip) early on time and drove us back in very early morning. It is a very long island and has a lot nice places to see, so you will definitely need a car. She let us use her ford suv for $50 per day. The house is very new and nicely renovated. Spacious with 2bedrooms 2 baths. Her closet has beach gear, towels, goggles, sunscreen, chair etc. In the living room/kitchen, there's a collection of recent movies, sofa is very comfortable:) There's a golf cart to get around off to the nearby beach but we didn't get a chance to use it. She is very helpful in giving directions around the island and go to harbor island. She provided us a lot information and is very considerate.

everything at Melissa's place was wonderful. It was definitely a larger space for a single person (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms) - but i was looking for a quiet, off the beaten track location to chill out for a few days and this place fit the bill perfectly. I did rent a car for the 3 days i was there (Melissa arranged that too!) and there is a flight to reach this island ($140 roundtrip). The house was well-equipped with all essentials and i really enjoyed myself there.

Really awesome little spot. The house is basic but had everything we needed. I recommend getting a car while in the island as most things are quite spread out. The neighbor Ron is super nice. We enjoyed hanging out on the deck in the sun

We spent a super wonderful week in A Frame House. Tom and Liz gave us lots of help(arrange airport pick-up, car rental info, surf board rental etc.) Everyday we can see Atlantic ocean from house and milky way at night. Neighbor Ron is very friendly (gave us some fish n rice he cooked, delicious!) and he also recommended some good places to go. The kitchen is fully equipped. We cooked almost every day. The Grocery is not very near. But if you rent a car, it will not be a problem. (highly recommend for renting a car on the island, helping to exploit the Eleuthera) BTW, Eleuthera is a quiet and very beautiful island. If you prefer such place, A Frame House should be your choice. I'll definitely be back some day.

From our arrival to departure, we felt at home in this charming A frame. We loved staying in surfer's beach, walking and running along the back roads, swimming at the beach and taking in the expanse of the ocean from the back deck.

We had a great time at the A frame house. The location was excellent to explore the wonderful island of Eleuthera. The house was small but it was big enough to spend and enjoy a few days with my husband. It seemed newly built or renovated, and it all worked well (the shower, the air conditioned). We could see the ocean from the window, that was nice. If I had to look for a flaw it would be the bed, the mattress wasn't the most confortable I've slept in (but it wasn't bad either). We didn't get to meet Tom and Liz, but they made it very easy to access the house and they had very nice details (such as leaving water, and those small details you appreciate when you are going to spend only few days at a spot, such as not having to sugar or salt). I would definitely recommend this house for anyone looking to visit Eleuthera in an autonomous way.

Really cute house which is in a great location to explore northern eleuthera and go to harbour island. The road to the house is difficult to drive on as it is unpaved, but as long as you drive slowly and carefully, it is fine. Tom and Liz were very responsive and friendly, even though we never had a chance to meet. The house had everything it needed and we really enjoyed our stay.

We did not meet the host but they were completely attentive to emails and answered our questions promptly. They are very helpful as needed to all issues. We enjoyed our stay at the A Frame House and would definitely stay there again!

My wife and I had a great time here. I wrote another review for this location so check that out - but I can't stress enough that it's totally one of the best places on the island to stay. We can't wait to come back!

Joanna's house is fantastic and we strongly recommend it! We fell in love with her place and with Eleuthera and are already planning to go back for another stay. The house is very comfortable and tastefully decorated, it has all necessary amenities and more, and the kitchen is very well equipped: in fact, we cooked a lot. The beach, just in front of the house, is magnificent: we were the only people in miles of beach, the water was calm, turquois, and incredibly clear. We also saw a lot of starfish. Both Johanna and John were extremely friendly and took care of everything in a prompt manner. We really have no criticisms, our only regret is that we didn't stay longer! Thank you, Joanna!

I stayed in the house Joanna March 20 to 30 with my wife and our son and had a great time. The house is positioned in front of a beautiful Caribbean side beach (always so calm sea). Always deserted as if it were private with the excellent wooden sunbeds to lie in comfort. The house is clean, comfortable, efficient, also the kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed to cook, this is a very important for us Italians, in fact, for 10 days we never went to the restaurant at 10 miles ..... north on the high way is a wonderful store that sells all organic vegetables ... and Tarpum bay 3 miles south is the fishing pier that by 14 you can find fresh fish. From the house you can enjoy every night of Enchanting sunsets .... John also for any problem is always present ... thanks BE ADVISED TO STAY HERE
