This home is located on 2.5 acre wooded lot. We have many options for you to relax and take in nature. There is a nice gazebo located roughly 40 feet from the back deck with seating and fireplace. This is a great place to relax, read a book, enjoy a glass of wine or time with your friends/family. Looking to relax inside the home, enjoy a nice bath in the whirlpool tub or relax in the living area with a gas fireplace and watch your favorite movie on the 50 inch curved TV.
We are at the end of the line for internet service. The service can become spotty at times (maybe happens a handful of times a year). Cell phone service can be limited depending on your carrier and phone. The home is located on the edge of a small swamp. This is normally dried up in the summer but sometimes you can hear deer walking through the swamp while enjoying a fire on the back deck.
This home is located on a shared driveway. It is generally very quiet but there are times that you will have traffic (cars, ATVs, snowmobiles, or walkers) going past the home. We are located 6 miles from Crandon, we has a grocery store, great restaurants, hardware store... If you are looking for additional shopping experience, Antigo or Rhinelander are roughly 40 minutes drive away. There are 3 medical clinics within 20 minute drive and the nearest hospitals would be located in Antigo or Rhinelander. We have 2 casinos located within 30 minutes from our home (Mole Lake Casino and Potawatomi Casino).
  • Responses quickly. Even held the days open for me so I could confirm my plans before booking. Provided coffee, great host.

  • The cabin was Great. We enjoyed every bit of it. Except for one little thing, curtains LOL. It just felt a little creepy with being so dark outside and no curtains to close at night. No curtains in the main living area and the two bedrooms. Just didn't feel like we had privacy. Even though we were surrounded by Woods and out in the middle of nowhere . But there were Neighbors. Plus we had no cell phone reception at all if something should have happened no way to call for help. But you have to expect that when you're up in the Northwoods. Other than that it was great .

  • A great getaway with a cozy feel, this is a great hideaway during spring, fall or winter. No A/C or WiFi, but pet friendly and tucked away off the highway. What a treat!

This renovated farmhouse is just north of Rhinelander. It is a private setting, close to several lakes and has easy snowmobile trail access. There is a boat launch on the Rhinelander flowage just a quarter mile away. You are more than welcome to come to have a quiet get away. We have a young orchard, and a busy beehive. You may see us working around the place, or roasting coffee (If you would like, we would love to share a cup with you). You can watch the sunset from a private deck.
The entire upper floor is available, which includes two bedrooms and a private bathroom. It has a private entrance via an exterior staircase for you to come and go as you please. There is also plenty of space for pets to run around in.
  • It was a very clean and beautiful loft, with beautiful stairs. If you are looking for a little get away, it is the perfect place to spend the night. I would reccomend to others.

You will be staying in a large, cozy and clean two bedroom apartment in historic downtown Antigo, Wisconsin. The neighborhood is safe and quiet, you will be walking distance from unique shops, historic museum, children's playground, gym, and several restaurants, and local bars, as well as a grocery store, the police department, the public library, the city hall and the boardwalk of Antigo lake a nice place to walk or jog.
The apartment is decorated in a retro style, with art made by local artists.
Downtown Antigo is a safe neighborhood, and this apartment is waking distance from just about anything that is interesting in Antigo. There are beautiful turn of the century buildings, unique shops, churches, courthouse, parks with a children's playground, lake with a boardwalk, grocery store, restaurants and bars. Compared to local motels, there is no comparison. Regarding food, the apartment has a full kitchen, a working 1950's retro electric stove with a food warmer, which is a rare pleasure to cook on, but if you choose to go out, there are a number of restaurants to choose from, Across the street, there is Dixie lunch, open from 5 am to 10 pm, and 5th avenue restaurant, fresh inexpensive salad bar and drinks. A block away is Game On, the local sports bar and grill, try their pork wings, and stop by for a game of pool or some mind bending Virtual Reality games as well as multiple screens to watch just about any game you want. If you're a frequent visitor ask them about the big hitters club ($50 annual membership fee entitles you to a free daily drink for a whole year). BB Jacks for Great Pizza, There are several bars around, Taphouse (Good Beer Selection), Skeezos ($1 beers) or Animals (Good Burgers), for the younger crowd, Game On (Good Food and Top Shelf Booze), Three Jokers ($1 beers) & 5th Ave Restaurant for the older crowd, (good beer but can get loud) . Coffee shops in Antigo are not that great, the only place to get a decent cappuccino is in your own kitchen on our
  • The apartment was clean, stylish, and very cozy. My family stayed here while we finished closing on our home. Much cheaper and much more convenient than staying in any local hotels. I would thoroughly recommend this apartment and AirBnB in general to anyone needing a temporary place to stay.

  • Great Treehouse Cabin tucked away in the woods. The river is close by and the fire pit area seems very nice. Plenty of room for a couple or two. The dog was also happy with the amount of area to roam around freely. Would stay here again.

  • the tree house is a wonderful stay. a very cute place in the middle of the woods (but not far from the city). it was magical seeing the stars at night, exploring the woods, making a fire in the fire pit, and spending time with family in the cozy and fun three house. joseph was a great host - accommodating and responsive . just be aware that there is a lot of taxidermy used as decoration. great nature retreat. fun and different than your usual cabin.

  • Such beautiful views, very relaxing trip!

    Jen2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • A great (second) stay in the treehouse. There were even nice surprise updates since our last visit - the shower, etc. Perfectly clean, beautiful property, comfortable. Thank you!

    Amanda2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Joe's treehouse is a wonderful getaway and great experience! Tucked back in the woods for serenity and relaxation yet close to town. My wife and I surprised our 3 boys and they were blown away and still talking about it a week later!

    Chad2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse is better than one would expect. Clean, comfortable , and secluded, this memorable place offers nature's best in many ways.

    Nancy2019-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a unique spot! My husband and I stayed here for the weekend with our dog and it exceeded our expectations. It is very peaceful and secluded and makes for a perfect getaway. We weren't quite sure what to expect for a treehouse, but the house is updated and in great shape! We especially loved sitting out on the deck watching the river. We are hoping to make it back again someday!

    Adela2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse was the perfect place to escape and recharge! The space was clean, inviting, and charging. We were able to cook at the tree house and contained various small kitchen essentials to prepare our own food rather than dining or for every meal. One of our favorite parts was the outdoor shower...something neither of us anticipated on using, but it was so unique and refreshing! We were SO thankful we were allowed to bring our two small dogs who enjoyed this scenic retreat just as much as we did. If you’re looking for a break from the hustle and bustle, this spot is just what you need! Thanks again for the great stay!

  • A very pleasant surprise. I value quiet more than I value just about anything in lodging. The location is away from any main roads, but still easy to get to. The owners are quiet. The countryside is quiet. Well kept and clean. Two very spacious and well appointed bedrooms (one was really nicy painted and decorated!!). A LARGE full bathroom. A full kitchen with plates, cooking utensils, eating utensils, pots, pans, etc. Everything you need to make your own meals. Full refrigerator/freezer. Normal size microwave. Oven and range. Large living area with big screen TV. And.... bring your dogs with you. Great place. Will stay there again.

Simple and close the location we wanted to be. She accommodated our dogs which was a plus as well! Ed’s on Main had a fantastic fish fry. Highly recommend!

Two bedroom cottage on the lake. There is a full kitchen. The living space also includes a futon, which could be used as a bed for two extra people. There is a TV in the living room.
There are two docks with lake access, swimming off one of them. A two-person kayak is also available, and there is a fire pit near one of the docks. A small fishing boat with motor is available for $20 a day.
If you have a boat on a trailer, there is a boat landing nearby, however the trailer will need to be parked on our lot. You will need to back it in or out the long driveway as there is no turn around.
  • The cottage is on a great location on the lake. The views are amazing and they provide everything you need- even a kayak and a fire pit and wood for the evenings! Wish it would’ve been warmer so we could have tried out the rope swing!!

COVID-19 update: We plan to sanitize and clean between guests. We will also try to allow two nights between guests. The beautiful Northwoods combined with a stay at our small organic vegetable farm is a perfect place to relax. While not on a lake, we are surrounded by lakes, beaches and trails. Cross country ski, snowmobile, snowshoe, ice skate and then come back to our cozy, warm apartment. Centrally located in the Northwoods of Wisconsin it’s the perfect place to slow down and relax.
Our newly built apartment above the garage has the best views of the farm. We live in the 110 year old farmhouse across the driveway with our two boys (3 and 7). The space is very private, but with good access to our farm and all the surrounding area has to offer. We are a busy working farm and most days you can find us out in the fields tending to the 50 different varieties of vegetables we grow. It is a perfect place for those looking for a simple weekend getaway, or folks who are interested in small scale agriculture and food. There is a separate bedroom with a king bed (that can be converted to two twins) in the main room is a comfortable futon, and a travel crib is available if needed. The space is toddler/baby friendly.
Our apartment is the perfect place to base your Northwoods adventures, or just soak up the farm life. We are 15 minutes to Rhinelander and Eagle River, 40 minutes to Minocqua, 7 minutes to Three Lakes and about an hour to the Upper Peninsula. We are 2 minutes drive to a public beach, and within 20 minutes to some more secluded beautiful beaches and hikes and state parks. The Sugar Camp snow mobile trail is easily accessed from our property. Photos of the farm represent it at all seasons. Sometimes the farm is resting under a blanket of snow, or packed full of vegetables in August.
  • Great location for snowmobiling! Trail right off of the property. The apartment was clean and fully equipped with everything we needed. The hosts were very welcoming and attentive. Highly recommend!

House is located on a potato farm close to the town of Antigo in a log home.
If you like snowmobiling, this is the place to stay. We are located right next to the snowmobile trails and you can snowmobile from our house to get to the trails.
We are located 45 minutes away from Granite Peak Ski Area. The ski resort has over 70 runs and is open November through April. There are lots of hiking trails and lakes nearby. I’m happy to give you other ideas on what else there is to do in the area if you’d like.
  • Close enough to Granite Peak to ski. Great hiking trails and Tarah gave us a wonderful tour of the potato farm. We really enjoyed her hospitality and wonderful breakfasts during our visit.

    Elaine2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Tarah’s potato farm was a wonderful and warm place to stay in wintry Wisconsin. The home is absolutely beautiful and she is a pleasant conversationalist and the dogs were so sweet to play with. We felt just like part of her family and would absolutely stay again. We got in pretty late and she was so accommodating and made us delicious breakfasts.

    Patric2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Tara is a wonderful host. She greeted us at the door and right off she was very kind and helpful, asking us numerous times if we needed anything. The house is gorgeous and our space was nice also. All of the reviews you read about this home are exactly true with no exaggeration. It truly is that nice.

    Cindi2020-02-01T00:00:00Z

  • A sense of home, being a treasured guest, feeling relaxed and at peace. The amenities were great, but I especially appreciated the hot tub (awwwww....), the delightful breakfasts (yummy and even the coffee was great!) the stories about the history of this family home and HUGE potato farm and the dogs. Most of all? I thoroughly enjoyed meeting and chatting with Tarah, the hostess. I sure enjoyed her company! And the house was quiet ..so peaceful!

  • Great little cabin close to water. Only thing better would be to stay on the water itself. I’d definitely stay again.

    Jamie2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful true north woods experience. The location on the lake with kayaks available was really fun. My wife loves lakes and this fit the bill for her.

    Barbara2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Peaceful and Quiet. Definitely lived up to our expectations and then some !

    Erik2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little cabin, which we did not spend too much time in because we were on the lake during the day or at the bonfire at night. The cabin is about a hundred yard walk to the beach/lake. Has all the appliances you would need. Friendly neighbors. The kayaks were a very nice addition so we did not have to rent those.

It's located on the snowmobile trail for winter fun and ATV/UTV trail for summer/fall fun. 18 hole golf course, public boat launch, public beach, skiing, hiking, and biking trails are all located within 5 miles of this property and is in walking distance of a bar & grill. Located just north of Antigo, our cabin features a master bedroom on the main level with a king bed and loft bedroom with one king and one single bed as well as 2 full bathrooms. Our equipped kitchen allows you to cook as you'd like or take a short walk to Sammy's Bar and Grill for a steak or sandwich. We have 3 flat screen TV's in the property for your viewing pleasure. You can also kick on the gas fireplace and just RELAX! Rather hang outside, we a large firepit for that too! Bring your own wood or purchase locally on your way. Biking, hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, ATV riding, golf, fishing or just hanging out are all within reach when you stay with us! The time is yours!
The neighborhood that surrounds our cabin is abundant with fishing lakes such as Greater Bass, Summit, Clear, Birch, Susan, Lady, Kettle, Alga, Alta and Pirch to name a few. In walking distance is Sammy's Bar and Grill with the local favorite "Sammy's Spuds" you don't want to miss! Did I mention they have the best Moscow Mules around?!? Try your hand at a round of golf at the Bass Lake Country Club that is "just around the corner" and open to the public. Pack a picnic lunch and head to the sand! It's just a short drive down the road to Summit Lake Park beach. No worries, the city of Antigo is a short 15 miles away for your bigger city conveniences. If a bit of casino fun is what you enjoy, the Ho-Chunk Gaming Casino is just 42 miles down the easy drive of Hwy 45. Like winter sports? The snowmobile trail is close enough, you can leave right from the yard and be on the trail within minutes. Rumor has it, it gets nice and cold in the Deerbrook area during the winter season! Check out Langlade County: The County of Trails on Facebook for local info on the area!
  • Erin and Chris were extremely accommodating. There cabin is cosy and nearby good restaurants and right on the snowmobile trails. Highly recommend it for a family or a few couples looking for a riding weekend.

Our place is a back-to-nature to nature- farm setting. For local activities, the Crandon Brush Run & Little Rice Lake are near. Crandon Hosts Kentuck Days in July and Art in the Square in September, and 40 miles from Hodag Country Fest. You’ll love our place because of the location, the farm ambiance, and the beautiful outdoors. The Loft is comfortable for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers ,and families
It is rustic but comfortable. Most people say they get a better night's sleep in the Loft than they do in their own beds!! We do not have WiFi as we want to keep the Loft simple and natural.
Quiet neighborhood, lots of horsepeople in the area. We do allow travelers with horses to stay with a slight increase in cost for the equine overnight.
  • It was a wonderful experience

  • What a wonderful quaint place to stay! Beautiful property with thoughtful touches. Farm fresh eggs and local honey! What a treat! Unique stay and beautiful animals to see. Thank you so much!

  • Great Farm Experience. Fun loft over the barn w/ lots of Horses & Donkies! Very clean & comfortable. Very quiet...w/ the random braying of a donkey to lull you to sleep---Lol. About 30 min from Eagle River but worth it for us. Great space....

    Peter2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lenore and Scott are wonderful people, the loft has everything you could want, so cute, clean, comfortable. Very private but also close to restaurants, bars and most importantly for me, close to the race track. Couldn’t have asked for better hosts, location or facilities. Hope to be back next year!

    Laura2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lenore and Scott's place was amazing! We took a quick overnight trip to relax during our last weekend of summer with our one year old son and dog. We were greeted immediately and given a tour of the farm. Lenore and Scott took time to make sure our son got to meet all of the animals in a fun, safe way. They provided a kennel for our dog and were patient when he barked at the animals (it was his first time meeting different large animals that weren't cattle). The loft had everything we needed and more. Every detail was carefully thought out and planned. We enjoyed dinner in town then a relaxing evening watching a movie and eating popcorn before we settled in for a great night's sleep. In the morning, breakfast items were provided and we walked around to see all the animals once again before leaving. The beds were comfortable, temperature was regulated well, and breakfast was perfect. We enjoyed our little adventure and our son even perfected his horse, pig, and donkey sounds by the end of our stay! Thanks again!

Come and enjoy a relaxing stay at a beautiful, comfortable home on a small lake with two bedrooms and extra sleeping space. It's a vacation spot near Ice Age trails, golfing and fishing. Wildlife such as loons, eagles, numerous other birds, chipmunks and other friendly creatures are there to observe and appreciate. Swim or fish in the clear no-wake lake. Several hiking trails are nearby, and you are just fifteen minutes from a first-rate golf course. Have a camp fire and enjoy!
There are restaurants in the area and another smaller golf course just ten minutes away. Casinos are also fairly close by.
This small lake only has eight cottages on it and the opposite side of the lake is county land so it is uninhabited. There is a small boat landing on the opposite side of the lake for fishing boats. It is a no-wake lake. Bring your kayaks or canoes too. A canoe and other small boats may be available during your stay.

Surrounded by the silence of the forest, you can relax here, away from the bustle of everyday life. Enjoy easy access to snowmobile and ATV trails. Explore the local cross country, mountain bike and snowshoe trails. Ice fish the numerous small lakes, enjoy local restaurants, shops, winery, and art. Always wise to drive a 4x4 or all wheel drive vehicle to this property in winter and spring. Also check out our other Airbnb rental, Ott's Cozy Suite, located 3/4 mile away on this 60-acre property!
Two small bedrooms with a full size bed in each and a usable closet in one, provide sleeping comfort. A full size futon in the living room makes sleeping space for a couple more. Six people is our max. Please don't try to squeeze in more. Our Cozy Cabin kitchen has standard size appliances, cook, bake and serving ware and basic spices for preparing delicious meals. This is an all season cabin with electric heat. We have no air conditioning; but if you keep the windows closed and blinds drawn during the heat of the summer day, the place stays pleasantly cool. The cabin is about 500 square feet. It is cozy; and although technically it can sleep six adults, those six people better like togetherness while they are inside! Realizing that not all groups of 6 want to sleep in 3 full size beds, we don't mind if you want to bring a tent in order to spread out a bit, as long as you don't exceed the total of 6 people at our property. Our water heater and septic system is not set up for large groups. The sweet space inside extends outside with a nice, big, outdoor deck and a fire pit with complimentary firewood. Many people ask if they can bring their well-behaved, quiet pet to our Cozies. We do not allow pets, well behaved or otherwise, inside our rentals. However, if you wish to bring a kennel or leash to keep your well-behaved, quiet, friendly pet outdoors, promise to clean up all waste immediately upon deposit, and repair any unexpected damage your pet might uncharacteristically create such as digging holes, scratching buildings/doors, tearing screens, chewing items not meant for his/her chewing....we don't mind their presence. A past guest, who brought his dog, also brought a canopy which he erected on the deck, under which he put a kennel. It worked great for providing shelter from rain and sun, not only for the dog, but also for his family while they enjoyed their time playing games at the picnic table! For those who find it unacceptable to keep their pet outside, other Airbnbs exist which have a different policy. Please patronize them instead.
Our Cozy Cabin feels remote; but we do have neighbors. We appreciate that you honor our request that this be a quiet retreat. Nature is the main draw; but there are a few little towns within 15-20 miles of our place. Visit Langlade and Oconto Counties' websites for great resources of things to do in our area. Lakewood Area Chamber of Commerce, Red Arrow ATV and Snowmobile Club and Lily Sno-Birds Snowmobile Club also have valuable information on their websites. While we encourage you to explore our acreage, it is REALLY important that you do not trespass on our neighbors' properties. Please talk to us before you explore so we can guide you in acceptable directions. A map of our property is in the Cozy Cabin. Our neighbors do have trail cameras in their woods. Your presence will be detected on their property. Every time a guest "accidentally" finds themselves on private property other than ours, our reputation, and that of Airbnb, is diminished. We'd like to keep hosting. Please don't anger our neighbors by not respecting their property boundaries. If you don't know, don't go!
  • This little cabin is the perfect place to relax in the beautiful north woods. The kitchen had all the basics for cooking and a huge deck to enjoy a meal outdoors. The trails around the house were covered in snow while we were there but with some snowshoes it's a beautiful way to start your day. Lisa was very quick to respond and had great tips for our trip.

    Jenna2020-03-25T00:00:00Z

  • The perfect place to be one with nature. The word “cozy” is really the perfect way to describe this cute location. They really went out of their way to add detail to the design making it more than just a place to rent, it was an experience. The owners are really good people who care very much about their property and the people who stay there. They really have it set up in a way you can fully enjoy the cabin as well as the outdoors. We will definitely try to come back some day.

    Brett2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa was great! The house manual and all instructions were very helpful and let us know exactly what we were in for. There were enough activities to keep us busy for a few days right there on the property. There was a decent snow fall one night and Mike & Lisa came up to the cabin to clear all the snow out. I would highly recommend checking this place out in the winter!

    Matt2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cozy was very comfortable, clean, and cozy. A very good place to go for a change in pace and scenery. 👍

    Corrindia2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa and Mike were exceptionally kind, accommodating, and communicative hosts. First, the location: their cozy cabin was the perfect warm and wonderful place to escape from the bustle of the city. The beautiful and pristine Wisconsin Northwoods are worthy of feature on a postcard. Next, the hospitality: Lisa warned us well in advance of an approaching winter storm on the second night of our stay and warmly invited us to seek refuge at their home, by their warm wood stove, in case the power went out. Luckily, we slept warm and comfortably through the storm in the sweet cozy cabin. When we awoke to nearly 10 inches of unplowed snow on the day of our departure, again Lisa and Mike jumped to action to help us make it safely out of the woods. We had to dig our cars out of the snow more than once, and ended up waiting for county plow to make it to the wooded roads, but our hosts kindly and patiently accommodated all the while. Overall, our stay was comfortable and relaxing with a twist of excitement and an unforgettable adventure.

Nestled in the Nicolet National Forest, this upper apartment has 2 queen bedrooms, 2 twin floor mattresses, kitchen and bathroom. Located on the trails, we have plenty of parking for trucks, trailers, ATVS and snowmobiles. Fishermen and paddlers...lakes, streams, and the Wolf River are near! Hikers...visit the many nearby hiking areas including the Ice Age Trail. Hunters...our 60 acres are private, but we are a perfect base camp for hunting the Nicolet National Forest public land.
This is 500 SQ feet of private living space above our two-car attached garage. The only shared indoor area is the entrance from outside into our breezeway which includes a service door to our garage, an entrance door to our Homestead (which we keep closed), and the stairway leading to the Suite. Plenty of parking for trucks, trailers, and ATVs/UTVs/snowmobiles. The Suite/Homestead is on a dead end road, only about 1000 feet from a designated ATV route. A portion of Rose Lake Road is unplowed in winter so snowmobilers have access to snowmobile trails. After the volume of riding the trails all day, you'll love the quiet of our Cozy Suite! A note about Covid -19 -- We pride ourselves in providing clean rentals! However, when you leave your home to stay in ours, you assume all responsibility and risk for avoiding contact with a virus. We promise, like always, to clean and sanitize our places after each guest departure. But, for your own peace of mind, if you wish to bring your own disinfecting products/supplies to do a clean sweep before you settle in, you are very welcome to do so without hurting our pride one bit. These are the steps we take to try to protect ourselves and you from germs: 1) our rentals are vacant of guests for a minimum of 24 hours prior to your arrival 2) our rentals are cleaned and sanitized thoroughly after guest departures. This includes washing with appropriate cleaning products and sanitizing touch point surfaces with bleach solution 3) all bedding (sheets, blankets, coverlets, pillow cases, shams, and mattress pads) are laundered between each stay 4) weather permitting, windows are opened to air the space 5) rugs and furniture are vacuumed and spot cleaned Things we don't do: 1) We do not re-wash and sanitize the dishes. If you wish to do this before using them, please do. Bleach and instructions are located beneath the kitchen sink. 2) We do not take apart every board game and try to sanitize all playing pieces. If this is a concern, please bring your own games. 3) We do not treat rugs/carpeting/cloth furniture with disinfectant. 4) Although we do launder pillow cases, we do not launder the actual pillows after every stay. If this is unsettling to you, please bring your own pillow. Some guests have asked if they can set up a tent, camper or RV on our property. We consider this case by case and charge accordingly; so if you are wondering, please ask. Many people ask if they can bring their well-behaved, quiet pet to our Cozies. We do not allow pets inside our rentals. However, if you wish to bring a kennel to keep your well-behaved, quiet, friendly pet outdoors or in the heated garage below the Suite, we will permit. We also ask that you clean up all pet waste immediately, and that you repair any unexpected damage your pet might uncharacteristically create. Please obtain prior approval before showing up with a pet. If your pet will not tolerate being separated from you while you are in our Suite, please patronize a different Airbnb with a pet friendly policy.
We feel remote, but we do have neighbors. Please DO NOT go exploring before you talk with us so we can make sure you know our property borders. When guests accidentally wander onto our neighbors' private properties, it diminishes our reputation and the reputation of Airbnb. We love hosting, and we want to be a good neighbor so please, please educate yourself before you explore. We have walking trails on our property (60 acres), and our property borders the Nicolet National Forest which features thousands of miles of trails. Walkers and bicyclists will enjoy the forest roads surrounding us, and access to the Ice Age Trail is not too far away. Some area attractions include nearby Lakewood offering an awesome candy and ice cream store -- Sweet Memories Candy; a winery, shops, restaurants, and a local artist Joan White who has her studio right next door! Rent rafts or tubes from Bob and Joni's in Langlade ( 10 miles from us) to ride the Wolf River. Or drive a bit further south on HWY 55 to Herb's, Big Smokey Falls, or Shotgun Eddies to rent their rafts. Visit our directory to see recommendations of places to eat, drink, visit, and explore. Great online resources for more ideas include Oconto and Langlade Counties' and Lakewood Area Chamber of Commerce websites and local snowmobile/atv clubs including Red Arrow Snowmobile ATV Club, Townsend, and Lily Sno-Birds Snowmobile Club.
  • Lisa and Mike were fantastic! Very friendly welcoming people. Their place was right off the snowmobile trial, so super easy to find and access. My family really enjoyed the stay. • Jennifer’s place was amazing! Her house is so stylish and clean and she had everything we needed. Her response time was great and she was super helpful in answering all of our questions. We would definitely stay again!

  • The cabin was beautiful and well kept! Jennifer was a great host and we had a wonderful time. There were so many fun things to do around the area as well. Highly recommend the horseback riding stables across the street!

  • What a great place. I was here on business and was pleased to find this location. The best part was the memorial veterans memorial Park just a few minutes away....great running trails.

    Geoff2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We rented Jennifer’s cabin for a guys golf trip and couldn’t have found a better place. The house comfortably slept 8 grown men and provided plenty of space for things to do both indoor and out (the table in the basement was perfect for our poker game). The lot is just off the main road but is tucked behind trees so there is plenty of privacy which was nice. I had a few questions for Jennifer throughout the weekend and it’s as if she was able to respond to those questions before I hit send. Great communication. Aside from the house being great, a cool thing for us was being just a mile from Bass Lake Golf Course. It was a good course that we ended up playing several times and could get right back to the cabin for dinner and rest.

  • Beautiful, beautiful house. We all loved it. It housed us all 10 of us comfortably and looked super cute inside. Like Joanna Gaines meets Wisconsin. Thanks for being a great host. There was a massive storm during our trip that included tornado warnings, 100mph winds, fallen trees and power outages the duration we were there. Jennifer communicated the status of the storm and updated us the whole time and made sure we were safe. This was super helpful as we couldn’t access it ourselves due to reception so it was a huge help to know what was going on. Would definitely recommend this house to others. There’s a horse riding place right next to the home at a great price that will take you on trails. The lake is like 3 blocks away for boating and swimming.

    Andrea2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer was great at communicating and quickly responding to any questions or help we needed.

    Kristi2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • The house was great - beautiful inside and in a great location. Bass Lake Golf Course, just one mile away, and trout fishing just down the road at Vozka's are a must. The park 2 miles down the road has trails & swimming and paddle board/kayak rental at Jack Lake. We had to drive a bit further for ATV rental and rapid rafting at Shotgun Eddy's, but both were worth the drive. If we had had one more day, we would have gone horseback riding across the street.

    Michael2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer’s cabin is one for the books! Beautiful interior with new updates throughout. Great open space to hangout and socialize. The hot tub is a great touch. Jennifer was super helpful, if we needed anything! 10/10 would recommend.

  • Paula and Frank were great hosts and went above and beyond to make our quiet anniversary weekend extra special. They even left us a special gift. We enjoyed the beauty of the lake, the cabins cute decor and the local area restaurants. We also met a few of the locals. We will cherish all the memories we made.

    Dawn2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin on a beautiful lake! Great sandy beach for the kids to swim! Paula was so friendly and helpful, she was wonderful with our kids and so thoughtful. I would recommend this vacation rental to anyone. Couldn't have asked for more!

  • Amazing!! This property was perfect for a family getaway. From the moment we got there until we left, Paula and her family made us feel at home. We cannot thank them enough for helping us with our family memories. The cabin is perfect. The kitchen is great for making meals for the whole family and the bathroom and rooms are all so welcoming and have everything you need and more. They were so kind to take us on a boat ride around the lake to show us everything the lake has to offer. We even saw baby loons!! Oh and the sunsets here are right from a postcard. Pack your bags and look no further. Book NOW!!!! Until next time!

  • The cabin is super cute and perfect location to everything Rhinelander has to offer. The sandy beach and gorgeous lake is amazing! Only thing is the bunk beds are tiny and not really suitable for adults, the cabin definitely gets warm in the summer because there is no AC and it would be nice to have firewood available for the campfire pit. But otherwise Paula, Frank and Sadie 🐾 were great hosts and we can’t wait to come back!

    Stacey2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • A nice, quiet, and relaxing place on the lake.

    John2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • We felt like we were in a Leanin' Tree greeting card! What a wonderful, relaxing weekend.

    Renee2018-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin setting is perfect for those who wish to experience the Up-North Wisconsin vacation. The lake offers all one could seek in the north woods: good fishing (caught Large Mouth Bass off the pier), swimming for your dog, peddle boating. We were taken on a pontoon boat ride to experience the many bays of Thompson Lake. The Three Coins restaurant next door is wonderful ( I had Elk).

Summer fun! Golfing-a half mile away...horseback riding about 5 miles away....Ice Age Trail just minutes from the door...on the atv/snowmobile trail....Beautiful Bass Lake fun swimming, boating, basking in the sun (bring your own boat/water toys.) Summer brings the beauty of the outdoors into the house with windows looking out across lake and woods. Relax, rejuvenate, and spend quality family time!
Beach is dependent on the time of your trip. There will be more "beach" closer to the end of August. Bass Lake is beautiful for swimming. Being a natural lake, there are rocks and leaf decay further out where you tread water. One side of the dock has lily pads unless there is boat action, so not sure how it will fair this summer. Refer to the pictures. As of end of April 2019, the water is high, but it will go down! For little tykes, the inside "L" shape is perfect with few rocks. Usually, the end of the dock is about 4-5 feet deep, and about another 12-15 feet BEYOND the dock it gets quite deep. There are several public boat landings. The lake is great for fishing. We recommend life vests at all times and require our own children and grandchildren to wear them on the dock and lake-side at all times. Enjoy the firepit before you turn in for the night!
  • Our stay was perfect, the house is very comfortable, the view of the lake is stunning, especially at sunset. Debra is a perfect host, communication very fast and responsive. The welcome note and the breakfast ( with farm raised eggs) is a very thoughtful touch, much appreciated. Would definitely stay again.

  • *snowmobile weekend * We had 2 couples and 2 family friends with us (6 total) and our stay was in mid February for a snowmobile weekend trip. The home is about a block off the snowmobile trail (camp susan/ice age trail) More than plenty of room in the home. We had an enclosed 4 place trailer/truck and an open 2 place trailer/truck. (Because we drove separately our other vehicle we parked elsewhere, since we had family about 2 miles down the road. (Dropped off our gear and road our sleds over)) There was a bad snow storm during check out hours and she offered us to stay longer during the day to avoid driving in the worst part of the storm. We declined the offer, but were grateful for the option. Our weekend stay went great, only one little mishap and that was on the trails with an over heated sled due to trail conditions and nothing to do with our stay. (Wink)

  • MARO Hills is a special place that our family recommends with all our hearts. The home is very clean and comfortable and has everything you could need. We would 100% recommend a stay here. The location was perfect for a family vacation with day trips to Minocqua and Eagle River a short ride away. We enjoyed swimming and fishing at the nearby lakes and took a wonderful family hike in the woods at the Cedric A. Vig Outdoor Classroom (CAVOC) in Rhinelander. Leslie and Phil were kind, courteous and always attentive to our every need. We are veteran AirBnBer's - this one is a gem not to be missed.

    John2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic peaceful location! Awesome property with nice open space. We were able to cook at night and have conversations easily between the kitchen and living room! Phil and Leslie are fantastic and left tons of great snacks and bottled water for us to enjoy. We enjoyed everything about the stay. Super clean, great views, and awesome hosts...cant ask for much more!!

    Matt2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nice up north vibe. Close to Rhinelander, Minocqua, and Eagle River. Great price for 3 bedroom house with plenty of parking. Hosts were very accommodating. Accessible entrance for mobility impaired was appreciated y our group.

    Greg2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, was very clean and nice and close to a public beach.

    Lawrence2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Phillips and Leslie were very accommodating. The house was clean and they supplied snacks! We stayed there to go snowmobiling. Before we had arrived, the driveway to the house and the trail leaving their property towards the snowmobile trail was marked. The trail is about 1.5 miles down a side road from their property. We got a foot of snow over our stay so they made sure the driveway was plowed by the time we checked out. I would stay here again.

On Big Lake, this cozy historic homestead offers a spectacular lake view and plenty of room to ramble. Set in 80 acres of rolling wooded hills this property also boasts over 1000 feet of pristine shoreline. Comfort and privacy on the Chain of Lakes.
This is truly a unique property on the Three Lakes Chain of Lakes. It is a large tract on the southernmost end of the chain in a secluded bay. There is plenty of room to walk in the woods and fields, all on our land, and the bay is quiet and very pristine, a wonderful place to kayak and fish. The bay was formed when the dam at Burnt Rollways raised the lake levels by about four feet so there are still lots of stumps and logs on the bottom. We swim there but typically wear water shoes when we do. It’s wonderful fishing! They love the permanent floating dock and all the structure on the bottom but you have to set your bobber correctly so you catch fish and not log bass. :) The pier is just across the road from the house but we own all the frontage so you won’t be sharing with neighbors. The house faces west and has a high perspective so sunsets are spectacular!
Well, I guess the fact that I can't see anybody else's house from ours. It is quiet, private, and stunningly beautiful no matter which direction you look.
  • Absolutely delightful in all ways!!

  • Stayed here with my wife and kids for second time. Great amount of space for a family to enjoy. Kathy was a great communicator and very nice to talk with. Kids loved the 2 horses (Tex and Ginger). The lake and private dock will keep boaters and fishermen happy. Highly recommend and hope to stay again next summer.

  • With 3 young adults and a pet dog, I did a lot of research before concluding that this property fulfilled our needs for a brief getaway to the Wisconsin northwoods. Good value, ample room, quiet solitude, direct lake fishing access on premises, nearby proximity to small town (for local groceries, gas, ice cream parlor, etc), recreational items including small boat, canoe (and a cool bonus paddleboat). We saw deer, hummingbirds, and horses on the property during our stay as unexpected pluses. As host, Kathryn was exceptionally prompt in responding to questions we had prior to booking, and helped as a factor in finalizing our decision to stay here. One minor problem we had was resolved with creativity and promptness and Kathryn went out of her way to more than satisfy our needs. Kathryn turned out to be what I think a model Airbnb superhost is and should be. Her very welcoming demeanor, quick responsiveness to our needs and questions, and how the home was furnished (kitchen, bath, bedrooms, living room) provided for our every need. Don't expect the Hilton, but more than sufficient for that "up north" cabin/house feel. The furnishings inside were very comfortable and clean; all the decor and rustic items around the home were very charming and interesting. Notes and directions inside the house are all very detailed and specific and funny (she and husband Mike are quite the pair!). Just as we arrived a big storm passed and blue-bird skies/high pressure system made fishing very tough but we caught a few walleye and a perch during evening bites. The kids loved being out on the water and enjoyed some great sunsets. Overall, a very nice stay.

  • We had a lovely, quiet couple of days to relax and enjoy nature. Thanks Kathryn for the great hospitality.
