Jazz Club

“Incredible live music venue. Built in the 1920's, Cliff Bell's saw the roaring 20's and was a part of the burgeoning scene in the Paris of the West. Mahogany detailing and vintage crescent booth seating, this venue laid dormant and was re-opened with much applause later in the century. It is now a great scene for live music and wonderful entertainment.”

“Owned by local chefs and entrepreneurs of color, this spot is consistently listed as one of the best brunch spots in the city. Plenty of vegetarian options, great portions, unique dishes and an impressive list of Benedicts. For carnivores the Duck Bop - an Asian inspired Eggs Benedict on an ample bed of lightly fried potatoes - is highly recommended. Reasonably priced and with a great atmosphere, this place is beyond satisfying. ”

“LGBTQ friendly, WONDERFUL, friendly bartenders (I love Larry, Jack and Alex!) Also this bar is Olive (dog) friendly so we might stop in for a brew from time to time after the dog park. Kinda divey and great night life (music) Highly recommend to experience real Detroit!”

“Check out their website because this photo tells you nothing about how awesome this restaurant environment is. It's set in a historic fire hall, which recently became a very chic hotel called The Foundation Hotel in Detroit. Another incredible new offering in the revitalized city. I remember when this building was for sale for $500,000 in 2011. Crazy right! Definitely worth stopping in for a cafe or a cocktail to check out what they've done. My husband and I had a date night here recently and the food was fantastic. ”

“The entrance is unmarked and in an alley. A really hip/upscale bar that is really good for maybe one drink on a special night. The cheapest cocktail I think is $18. It's worth a visit but not more than 2 rounds unless you got money to burn.”
