This beautiful 18th century converted barn, located opposite the owner’s home, within easy and quick access to Waterford and Kilkenny . Has a country style open-plan layout. It provides the perfect base to explore the sunny south east many famous sights and walking trails. Following a day's trekking in the Greenway which is just 6 miles away you can sit and enjoy the stunning views which the barn provides. At the end of the day you can relax beside the cosy stove and plan your next day's outing!
The barn has high speed internet access. However please be aware that the mobile signal is poor inside the barn due to the thick stone walls.
It's a quite cul de sac with just two houses .
  • Marie is so incredibly warm and helpful. I loved the barn, its quirkiness, peacefulness, location and deep comforts. In my top 10 of airbnb experiences. Audrey

  • We absolutely love Marie’s space! This is our second time and we are already looking forward to returning again soon! Thank you so much!

  • The 18th Century Barn is nothing but a little piece of heaven. The peace and quiet, the lovely views, the bath, the fireplace, the ambiance and atmosphere is perfect. Marie is an amazing host, very attentive and went above and beyond to leave a selection of goodies and food for us, which no Air BnB has done before. She will give you your own space to enjoy but if you need anything she responds straight away and is eager to help. We got a great intro to the place with her beautiful son giving us a very informative tour of the barn which was amazing and made us feel right at home from the start. The only negative thing was that we wish we stayed longer ! Loved every minute of it. Thank you Marie.

Very quiet location with gorgeous views. Waterford city is only a 10 minute drive away too. Kilkenny , County Kilkenny, Ireland

A cosy getaway in the heart of the Irish countryside. There are NO EXTRAS on price, and lots to see and do in the South East region. The cottage is full of charm and character, and the owners are a friendly family who live just across the garden. Please note that the gallery bedroom is tiny - although with a very comfortable big bed. The bedroom and stairs make this cottage unsuitable for anyone with limited mobility, but check the reviews! Most people love this place.
The Studio Cottage is a comfortable, fully equipped traditional stone cabin on a picturesque Irish farm. A tranquil spot close to Waterford, Wexford and Kilkenny, so a great place for touring the South East of Ireland. There are 14 sandy beaches on the Hook penninsula, and Europe's oldest lighthouse to visit. Guests at Fruit Hill generally comment on the warmth of the welcome, the peace and quiet, and the unspoiled surrounding area. Richard and Susan have been in the holiday cottage business for 13 years and are on hand to advise or suggest the best places to see. There's internet access; plenty of car park space; a washing machine and dryer in a shared laundry; everything you need for cooking at home but plenty of good restaurants and pubs nearby. A wood-burning stove in the 300 year old firelpace keeps the cottage cosy any time of year.
Everyone comments on the peace and tranquillity, and the slower pace of life here at Fruit Hill. It's not a lonely spot, but tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the world. Campile village is a friendly spot with late-opening shops and a couple of pubs. Duncannon (10 - 15 mins drive) has great pubs for food, and the award-winning Aldridge Lodge restaurant (book well before your stay). New Ross is the nearest town. It has 4 excellent supermarkets including Lidl, Aldi and Tesco. 15 minutes drive. St Michael's Theatre is one of the special things about New Ross, and of course the Dunbrody ship, and the Ros tapestry. There's a great new swimming pool there too, and plenty of places to eat. In a Nutshell is a very special cafe. Kennedy Arboretum is a few minutes from Fruit Hill, as is Dunbrody Abbey and Maze. There are the beautiful Hook Peninsula beaches, Loftus Hall, and Hook Lighthouse all nearby.
  • Lovely stay, our second time and we were glad to be back- thanks again!

    Sophie2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice stay at Susan’s cottage, which is as described in the add. The sitting room is a nice place to relax in front of the incredible chimney. The kitchen is surprisingly fully furnished for this small cottage. Perfect location to wander around Ireland’s Ancient East.

    Carl2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • I could not recommend this Airbnb enough to anyone looking to stay. The hospitality and communication were excellent. There were little touches that made my stay wonderful. These included fresh eggs, homemade scones with butter and jam upon arrival. Also Susan was lovely, she checked me in, provided wellies when it rained and gave recommendations for what to do in the evening. You would need a car to get around but that's about it for a downside!

    Amy2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful little gem 💎 of a cottage. It”s so full of character. So cosy and clean. Your thoughtfulness is so appreciated. We will definitely be back xx

    Erica2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Susan was very helpful and willing to go out of her way to help. We had a great few days in the sunny south-east@

    Kevin2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a magical treat it was staying in this traditional Irish cottage. The stone fireplace filling the one end of the lounge was a wonderful backdrop for every evening spent recalling our days experiences exploring this eastern part of Ireland. Susan is a wonderful host and has provided a special space which we felt was our "home away from home" for the week of our stay. We highly recommend this peaceful farm haven.

Wexford has got to be the friendliest County in Ireland.
  • A quiet, peaceful break in the countryside for our family of four. Although I didn't meet Susan I felt like I had been staying with friends, such was hers and Richard's hospitality. We found plenty to keep us occupied in the cottage, books, puzzles, dvd's etc, but also enjoyed a few outings - Johnstown castle was a new destination for us and worth the visit. Susan's cottage was clean and beautiful inside with a cozy fire on the cold and wintery February days. A very nice place for a few days break.

The choices they made when restoring this mill are Very thoughtful and the space had all the comforts of home. We loved using the wood stove and sitting in the little sunroom. PS The little black cat that hangs out by the old mill wheel is incredibly friendly and sweet.

A cosy retreat. Easy access to beaches, walks and city. The cottage is annexed to the main house. It includes a bedroom, shower room, kitchen and breakfast room all private.
We live down a quiet country lane which is a cul de sac. We are a five minute drive from Faithlegg House and Golf Course and a ten minute walk from award winning Jack Meade's Pub and Restaurant. Inside the cottage, the rooms are bright and airy. The bed is very comfortable. So everybody tells us.
As well as Jack Meade's Pub and Faithlegg Hotel being minutes away, there is lots more on offer. There are guided historical walking tours with local Andrew Doherty, and boat rides on the Brian Boru from fishing village Cheekpoint, also minutes away by car. Within a 10K radius or less, you will find the quaint seaside village of Dunmore East. Nearby Woodstown, 3k away, offers a lovely beach and a great pub/restaurant. Tramore, boasts Ireland's longest beach, with surfing, bars and lots of restaurants. Waterford, Ireland's oldest Viking city is only 5k away.
  • Lovely little spot. Pretty close to Waterford. Clean, cosy and quirky.

  • Lovely cottage in a quiet area but not too far from the city or supermarket. Leonardo was really responsive to messages and is very helpful. We stayed here with our labrador without a problem. Ask Leonardo for the Italian cook book if you plan to make your own dinner. Recipes are fab and so yum! Will stay again if we're going back to Waterford.

  • Theresa, her husband , and cute little pet Baloo were great hosts. We were warmly welcomed and shared life stories with tea and biscuits after our arrival. We had a nice sleep and a very nice breakfast in the morning. We recommend you to stay in Theresa's house.

  • Amazing host, felt like home from home, unreal hospitality - would definitely come back to stay with Theresa, Micheal and their little dog! Felt like we were staying with family. Thankyou so much

    James2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Theresa and Michael are the best hosts we’ve ever had. No other place could be more welcoming and loving as with them. Along with their adorable dog Baloo, everything felt like home. Both our room and bathroom were impeccable and we were provided with everything we could need, including towels, hair dryer, blankets, etc. We had hours of lovely conversation during the night and the next morning our breakfast was already served! We could’ve not asked for more. We’re so grateful to have had the opportunity to share with them and if we ever come back to Ireland we’re definitely paying a visit to this beautiful home.

    Émile2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Everything is perfectly like the photos, too bad it doesn't show the human warmth behind them. I don't speak English and they don't speak Portuguese, however, we talked as I already did in a Brazilian accommodation. I had personal problems and they were my safe haven, they made me feel safe, protected. I regret not having booked more days to be with Teresa, Michael and Baloo. They were so careful in every detail, I was received with great love, a fireplace lit and even a waltz dream at the head of the bed. I hope to have the opportunity to meet again.

    Cliciane2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time staying here and there is a reason for that! It’s not just about renting a comfortable, clean room in a lovely home but also about the lovely hosts in Teresa and Michael. 5 mins from a lovely beach too.

  • My girlfriend and I had an absolutely lovely stay at Margaret's Airbnb. A comfy and cozy stay that was in a great location for us to see so many great places (Lismore, The Rock of Cashel, Cahir, Kilkenny etc), and Margaret had so many amazing recommendations that it improved our stay 10 fold. Highly recommend!

  • Margaret's place is an idyllic haven in the countryside. We loved it here! She really has thought of everything for the space - our favourite part was the FULLY stocked kitchen. Since the place is in the countryside, it's great being able to bring your own food & wine and cook and have a lovely evening in. We found it a great location to stay in between the Greenway on the Saturday and hiking Coumshingaun on the Sunday. Thanks Margaret!

  • Perfect spot for relaxing, with great kitchen facilities that we used fully, comfortable beds and cosy seating. We drove to Mahon Falls one day for a walk, and drove into Dungarvan town another day to rent a bike and went on the Greenway. A country home away from city life. Margaret was a great host, left us to our own devices as that was what we had wanted, but was there when we needed her. Lovely lady with plenty of local wisdom.

  • Sonya's place by far exceeded my expectations. The loft is a bit misleading as it is a wonderful little house finished to very high standard, spacious and everything worked perfectly. The shower was absolutely amazing and there was also a fully equipped gym. I do not think you will find another private place as nice as this. Communication with Sonya was great. She answered all my queries instantly. I highly recommend this wonderful place.

  • Amazing! Thank you

    Donatas2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful property. The apartment is totally separate from the main house. I had no need to contact host during my short stay but I’m sure I could have if needed. Space was clean, spacious, warm and comfortable. They asked that I strip the bed before leaving which I did. But this seems like an unnecessary request. I’d expect any cleaner could do that. As an older guy with arthritis, bed stripping is not my forte.

The house is stylish, well equipped and cosy, perfect for a single person or couple. Sonya and John were excellent hosts and Sonya was very quick to respond when I contacted her. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place as I would be happy to book again if I was revisiting the area.

We live 2km from the sleepy village of Ballyporeen, between the Knockmealdown and the Galtee mountains . Our house is 12 km from Mitchelstown, 20 km from Cahir , 50 km from Cork city. Mitchelstown caves are close, also Cahir castle, Rock of Cashel, Althasel Priory, High crosses of Ahenny, Ormond castle, Main Gaurd; So an ideal base to explore the culture and ancient places... Do come!
Our house is renovated to modern standards. It is an original Tipperary county council cottage built in the 19th century for the workers and their families. One of the double beds is in the 'new part', but we have two more rooms in the 'old part'; We'll have to share the bathroom and kitchen as this is my home. and not a hostel/hotel :)
The neighbourhood is very green, we're surrounded by fields, with cows. The local village has 3 pubs, but it's ok to BYO....

We booked last minute on the afternoon we needed a place to stay and Hillary was very accommodating setting us up with 2 rooms with private bathroom and super quick responses via messenger. Most adorable cottage, breathtaking views, quaint decor. Incredible hospitality. We swapped stores over tea and she gave us travel tips for the next day. We will always look back on our first night in Ireland as a peaceful and beautiful rest.

  • The Rock is a lovely quirky home in a beautiful rural setting. Hilary is a font of local and regional knowledge the suggestions and tips she gave us for Cork were spot on. I was over with my son for a cousin’s funeral in the neighbouring village so we do kind of know the area and have our connections there. The house is solid, warm and comfortable and there was a fire blazing every evening on our return. The basics are all there for a great stay and Hilary is an interesting and generous host.

  • Hilary is a very kind, open and generous person, and her house is wonderful. You really feel like you’re at home there. All the other reviews I read made me want to stay at Hilary’s, and it is very convenient for Mitchelstown and beyond. Hope to come back soon.

  • Hilary has very nice place. I highly recommend it. It's very quite around so people can get there proper rest from huge cities. Unfortunately I didn't have chance to meet Hillary in person but she made sure our stay would be great even when she couldn't be there

  • It's been a second time after 6 years ago that I stayed at Nicolas's house. His standard is the same. Lovely room and very convenient for my stay in Waterford. I recommend Nicolas's place to everyone. Thank you Nic!

  • Had a great stay at Nick's, it's very convenient for town as we were able to walk in and around the city centre very easily from his place. Nick was also accommodated our late arrival when we drove down to Waterford after work which was very much appreciated. We opted to change sheets and clean the room/ensuite ourselves on leaving but there's an option to pay for that service either and not have to worry about it. Delighted with the room it was perfect for our weekend break to Waterford.

    Jade2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful home. The room was perfect. The the area was close to center. Enjoyed my stay

    Susan2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place is a perfect walking distance from the center and close to a big Tesco. The room itself is clean, but could use some new touch of paint to make it look a bit more fresh. However, given the price point, the location and the self cleaning clause made it perfect value for money for us.

Beautiful base in Ireland's Copper Coast. Perfect location to take advantage of the lovely scenery, hiking, water sports and horse riding. Also great If you want to just relax, unwind & commune with nature. Beautifully renovated little house/apartment in the quaint village of Annestown in the sunny south east of Ireland. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing retreat to commune with nature and explore the meandering coastline this is the ideal place to come. Breathtaking cliff walks and lots of hidden beaches to explore. Sea & river kayaking available nearby as well as surf lessons, horse riding & mountain bike tours. The apartment is across the road from the beach in the village. The building itself is quite old but was recently renovated and features stone walls, high ceilings and lots of sunlight. It has its own little courtyard out front. The courtyard separates the apartment from a 300 year old thatched house. The sleepy villages of Annestown is a cluster of little houses and a church a few hundred meters from the beach. There is no shop or pub but both can be obtained in the nearby villages of Dunhill and Fenor where there are lovely Irish pubs with music and food. There is a stunning nature walk along a little boreen by the River Anne to Dunhill Castle. Great historical sites nearby and the ruins of the old Copper Mines in Bonmahon. A few kilometres away is the fishing harbor of Boatstrand which is also a great place for swimming. Annestown is a also a popular surf spot. The Copper Coast was declared a European Geopark in 2001 and a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2004. Sea Kayaking, Surf School, Horse Riding & Mountain Biking all near by. Please ask for info. When I am away I leave the key for you and can supply you with all pertinent phone numbers and information via e-mail. There is a caretaker of the property that can answer all your questions too. No public transport in this area. Make sure you bring provisions as there is no shop in Annestown. There are restaurants/bars 4km away however. Please note that things tend to close early in Ireland and many places stop serving dinner at 9pm.
  • A small house both charming and confortable in the middle of an absolutely fantastic landscape ! And, in addition, a perfect host !

  • Mary-Susie is a great host, would definitely recommend. Lots of things to visit around Annestown. We would gladly come back.

    Veronique2019-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Mary Sue and her lovely daughter were lovely and gracious hosts. Their place is a charming hideaway by the sea. Good value for money, too. There is not a pub within within walking distance, but there’s nothing Mary Sue could do about that :). Recommended for budget travellers looking for a place to relax and unwind.

    Bill2019-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Mary Sue's place. A small but really nice furnished house at the back of her own house. Mary Sue was great. She gave us all kinds of useful advice and she was totally cool with us checking in and checking out. Unfortunately we had other plans otherwise we would have stayed longer and explored the next door cliffs even closer.

    Johannes2019-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This charming little place,it will steal your heart and captivate your mind, it's 7km from the nearest little town, but it is truly, an Irish experience, beautiful landscape, in every direction. It's small but very charming, ideal for a couple, who want to explore. Mary sue, is a wonderful host, and full of knowledge, she won't let you down. Hope to get back in the summer 😍. Peter & ry.

  • This is a lovely bungalow that is perfect for a family, especially if you have young children. There were high chairs and a travel cot all set up for our use. The living room was cozy with the fire on. The decor was stylish and the beds were comfortable. The location is great, very peaceful but in a small estate so you do not feel isolated. Stradbally is a beautiful little place and the cove is wonderful.

  • To Oli and Liz, Now that was a most wonderful and enjoyable stay! I really loved chatting with both of you. You were such amazing hosts with your offers of lifts and your lift to the church, Liz. I am deeply grateful for such a vibrant, caring and passionate (politic discussion) experience. And that was just you two. Your place is stunning, wonderful decor, so clean and comfortable. And the location is just a few minutes walk from the train and bus station and a few more minutes to the city centre. Thank you both so much for your vibrancy! I just need an excuse to come back again, now.

You’ll love my place because of the cosiness, the views, and the location. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and furry friends (pets). We are only 45 minutes from Cork city, 1 hour drive from Waterford and Limerick city. The new Greenway in Dungarvan is a big attraction for cyclists and keen walkers well worth a visit, Ardmore village is well worth a visit , with the lovely cliff walk and and lovely beach, Youghal is also worth a visit, with lovely food at the Sir Walter hotel
The Cottage is compact yet it is more than adequate for 2 people to have a quiet relaxing short break in comfortable surroundings.
We live in a very lush and mountainous area of West Waterford, North Cork, we are so fortunate to have lovely views and gorgeous scenery
  • The place is a cute one bedroom apartment with kitchen-livingroom area all together. The bedroom is spacious and has a small wardrobe for leaving belongings. Note that the shower is inside the bedroom separated from the bathroom, also, if you have long hair, be aware that there is not much water pressure. The central heating worked perfectly and there is fireplace as well that can be used if needed. The kitchen is fully equipped with plates, cutlery and pots and was kept clean. All-in-all, the stay was pleasant and the place has all you might need for a weekend or a few days surrounded by nature!

  • The cottage is a beautiful place to stay! Theresa allowed me to check in slightly earlier because it was empty from the night before, which was very handy as I arrived earlier than expected. The stove was lighting when I arrived, a lovely touch! There's plenty of kitchen utensils and cooking facilities, and the dogs that greet you at the doorstep in the morning are very friendly and excited to meet new people. Would definitely recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a walking trip, or a cosey quiet night away!

Stay in a beautifully restored 2 bed farmhouse in Ballylooby, Cahir, Co. Tipperary in the heart of the Golden Vale. Situated on a working farm, this 100 year old farmhouse comes full with Irish charm and character.
This is an incredible opportunity to stay in a beautiful traditional Irish cottage in the heart of the Irish countryside. Located in a working farm with cattle and horses, this cottage is a real gem with the famous Irish hospitality included. Contains 1 bedroom with double bed, and 1 single bedroom.
There are TONS of things to do in the area: COUNTRYSIDE: Walk the Vee in the nearby Sugar Loaf mountains. The Vee is famous because of the breathtaking panoramic views afforded to travellers and sight seers going through the pass. The journey rises to about 2,000 feet (610m) above sea level above Bay Lough, and as it does so it gives wonderful views of a portion of the ‘Golden Vale’ between the Knockmealdown and Galtee Mountain Ranges. RAMBLING: If walking is your thing, then the area around the Vee, Bay Lough, Loughglenbridge, Sugar Loaf Hill, Knockshanahullion and Gortacullen Wood (just under the Vee following the Tipperary Heritage Way sign) offer a multitude of choices no matter what type of road walking or mountain climbing you fancy. Take a look at our Walks section to give you an idea of some of your options. HISTORY: Visit nearby Cahir Castle, one of the largest castles in Ireland, is sited on an island in the river Suir. It was built in 1142 by Conor O'Brien, Prince of Thomond. This is a magnificent must see option for any visit to Cahir. The Rock Of Cashel is also a short drive away. It's huge, it's complex, it's iconic, there is nothing like it anywhere else in the world and it's right here in Cashel at the heart of Tipperary. The Rock of Cashel (Carraig Phádraig), more formally St. Patrick's Rock, it is also known as Cashel of the Kings. Reputedly the site of the conversion of Aenghus the King of Munster by St. Patrick in the 5th century AD. Long before the Norman invasion The Rock of Cashel was the seat of the High Kings of Munster. SHOPPING: The cottage is a short drive away from the heritage town Cahir, full of interesting shops and pubs and an excellent tourist office set on the banks of the majestic river Suir (perfect for a lazy afternoons picnic!) GOLF: There are many golf courses in the area, including Cahir, Tipperary, Thurles, Ballykisteen and Dundrum House golf club. If you are a golfer this is the perfect location for you! EQUESTRIAN: Tipperary is home to Coolmore Stud in Fethard and many equestrian entreprises due to the superb quality of its limestone based grass. Whether you want to go horse trekking, racing or play polocrosse, there is something for everyone here. Cahir is a really beautiful part of Ireland and we look forward to welcoming you!

  • We only had one night at Pat’s place but wish we could have stayed longer! It’s an adorable, well equipped farm house. His Pony Paddy is quite the character and we loved feeding him apples. Everyone in the nearby town was so friendly and the food and pubs were excellent. Definitely worth a visit.

Our newly renovated private apartment is part of our family property in a quiet area of beautiful Tramore and is minutes from beach and town centre. Doneraile Walk, cliffs and sea views next to property. Private decking & BBQ area. Air-conditioning for heat/cooling.
It's a one room apartment. There is a double bed and a couch which can be made into a single bed if required. Fully equipped kItchen/dining area and shower/bathroom.
Nice quiet neighbourhood close to the town centre but far enough away for it to be quiet even during the busier summer season. Well off the main road with Tramore tennis club within a stones throw of property. The Coastguard Station Coffee Dock is just a minutes walk away. There is also a pub, restaurant and convenience store just three minutes walk from the property
  • We had a great stay in Tramore, Dermot was a great host with a great Airbnb property. Highly recommend!

The kitchen allows you to cook basic meals but would perhaps benefit from one or two additional things if you're planning a more elaborate meal. The panoramic windows with incredible sea views definitely make this place worth a visit.

Everything was sparkling clean as well. The location is absolutely magical - walking on the cliffs and seeing the sunset or petting the local donkeys - what more could you ask for? • Ideal location right beside the beach and promenade with some excellent restaurants and cafes within 2 minutes walk. Very reasonably priced. A bit on the cold side but Tramore was being lashed by easterly winds while we were there and the electric heaters and open fire heated the place nicely. Very good immersion,Hot water not a problem ! If however you’re somewhat obsessed with clean grouting around the tiles then this isn’t the place for you! Overall cleanliness was good though the exterior was a bit shabby and weather beaten. I didn’t meet Colin personally but in fairness he was very quick to respond to any text I sent him. We’d be happy to stay at Colin’s place again.

    Dom2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for my needs and good value compared to others locally. Colin very responsive. Car access to the apartments via the gate is by mobile phone so make sure you understand the process if you need to park inside the grounds.
