Beautiful lush green landscapes that drop dramatically down to the river. This is ancient Ireland at its best. Slane is a well-known village in Ireland. Thanks to the rock concerts at Slane Castle and now the new whiskey distillery, Slane now has a vibrant food and music culture with restaurants, cafes and bistros as well as great live music pubs. Be sure to book in on a Wednesday night to see the Wednesday Gang open session in Boyle's of Slane and don't forget to book a tour around the new Slane Distillery. We are also only 6km from the UNESCO World Heritage megalithics tombs at Bru Na Boinne (Newgrange) and only 8km from the Battle of the Boyne centre. We also offer kayaking, recreational tree climbing and bike hire to keep you busy while you're here.
  • Just want to echo what all the other reviewers are saying, this place is really awesome. If you do stay here, definitely check out the communal area (kitchen, dining, lounge). It's a really nice place to chill out. Loved meeting all the farm animals too.

  • Amazing place, great for weekend getaway but still close to Slane town center with local pubs and restaurants :)

    Sara2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The farm is really lovely. The hosts have made great use of the space. The room was nice and cosy and the communal areas and hot tub made our stay extra special. Within walking distance of the village.

  • Had a pleasant week long stay here with a baby and dog. The Swallow's Nest was very spacious, with room to spare even with a travel cot and large crate. Directions and self check-in was very straightforward. We had fresh eggs from the farm in the morning - very tasty - and met the Dexters and pigs on our walk around. Good information available for things to do in the area although I was mostly visiting family anyway. Would stay again!

  • Really nice place very scenic and rustic, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a break from society, Slane is a really nice place with a lot of nice shops and restaurants.

  • Fantastic and magical place! The Swallow’s Nest was perfect. Cozy and warm and situated with a great view of the farm. The team of folks supporting the farm were super helpful, too. This is a must-stay place if you’re planning on spending time in the area!

  • We had a pleasant stay. The farm is located in a very beautiful valley. The farm offers a lot of equipment to choose from. Regarding our room the decoration is really charming, the bed is very good, so much so that you forget to get up. The products from the farm are exquisite. The team is on top, very responsive. Thank you everyone. There are plenty of unusual places to discover in this valley. We will gladly come back.

  • We were very well received by Ger. After a long wait at the car rental agency, she was understanding when we were late compared to the expected time of arrival. Easy communication with Ger. The accommodation was very clean and perfectly matches the description. We had room to install a cot for our daughter. Nothing to say, very welcome! I recommend

    Elodie2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had the pleasure of staying at Ger’s place for a couple of days whilst in Dundalk for a nearby wedding. I can’t really say any more than all the glowing reviews here already do. I can only echo the sentiment. Ger is a lovely woman. A fantastic host, and the kind of person that really makes Airbnb great. We had the journey from hell (delayed flight, delayed train, missed connection) getting there, but Ger made us feel so relaxed once we arrived. Thanks for everything!

Victoria Drummond Tower was built as a Folly Tower in the victorian period in 1858 by Victor Drummond Delap as part of Monasterboice House & Demesne. The tower is regarded as a folly tower built in remembrance of his late mother Victoria Drummond Delap. Recently restored into a small habitable dwelling and is now available for rental for selected months of the year. A very unique and enjoyable place to stay with a vast range of local & historical amenities at your disposal.
Drummond Tower comprises of 4no. floors including a top roof level which guests can enjoy extensive views of the surrounding countryside. The ground floor comprises of a kitchen area with cooking and washing facilities. On the first floor there is a comfortable living room with adequate space to relax and watch TV or read books form the extensive book collection. There are 2no. couches with 1no. being a comfortable double sofa bed. The second floor bedroom is the last of the internal floors which comprises of a queen sized bed with en-suite, shower and washing facilities. One of the great advantages is waking up in the mornings and looking out over the tree tops and the immediate countryside. The top floor level is the external castellated roof terrace. There is 360 degree views of the area and space to enjoy the fine weather. The roof terrace is illuminated so one can access the area during at night to look at the stars
Drummond Tower is situated in the countryside on the Boyne Valley Drive - R168. 5 mins from Monasterboice Round Tower & Melifont Abbey. Newgrange, Dowth, Oldbridge (Battle of the Boyne) and Slane / Collon Village is within 15mins drive. Drogheda is located nearby with shopping, Restaurants and Bars. We would recommend Monasterboice Inn (5 mins drive) with selection of fine food & beverages. Also check out "No. Three" in the local Village of Collon which would be approx 3 miles or visit the lovely village of Slane and have a pint on Boyles Pub
  • Don't book this place. I want to make sure there are no conflicts with my future stays. This was the definition of a dream stay for us. Absolutely everything we wanted in a country castle tower. We will be back as soon as we can!

  • We greatly enjoyed our stay at Drummond Tower. It’s a unique place that is very clean. We used it as our base for exploring the many historic places in the area. Many sites and several towns are within an easy 20 minute drive. I highly recommend staying at Drummond Tower as the price is untreatable for what you get.

    Jeremy2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures don't do this location justice. Eanan was quick to respond to my messages, and the directions for how to find and access the tower were very clear. Everything was clean and orderly, and waking up early to watch the sunrise over the surrounding area on the very top floor was magical. I would definitely recommend this place to stay if you are planning to be in Ireland!

    Michelle2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Tower has special atmosphere the moment you drive to it, it is pure & beautiful experience for weekend getaway from busy week lifestyle. 10/10!! We would love to come back, and we recommend it to anyone who would like to experience the feeling of waking up feeling like a queen or king!!

  • WOW! if you get the chance to stay here do it! Really a step away from the busy world into your own sweet romantic fairytale feel. • Jolanta was a delightful host. Her place was warm, welcoming, quiet and spotless. and just up the road from a lively pub restaurant with good food and atmosphere. She was there when we arrived and check in was easy. We all had a very nice chat and then we headed out to meet family in the city. Before our stay we had a small problem with our trip and Jolanta was able to find a very easy solution and went out of her way to help us sort it out. I'd highly recommend staying with her when visiting the area. Liam & Mo

Hatch's Castle has many beautiful features including the Dome Hall, the original spiral staircase, and a wonderfully restored drawing room on the first floor, where you can sit down and relax. We're situated in the lovely town Ardee, which is surrounded by many historic places such as the Jumping Church and Newgrange. There are few restaurants around Ardee and several shops. You can find out more on my Face book page Hatchs Castle.
Walking inside Hatch's castle on the Main Street of Ardee is a feeling of space and tranquility. From that moment you know you have entered a castle that is waiting to be explored. There are four floors, each boasting character and an ambiance of true charm and comfort. Ground floor entrance hall with dome ceiling is also used as a dinning room. The 1st floor has the drawing room with an open fire. Here you can help yourself to a drink, relax, read and unwind. Breakfast can be served here in the large window over looking the Main Street. The 2nd and 3rd floor have a bedroom and private bathroom each. It is possible to see Ardee and its surrounding countryside from the roof. There is a cobble stone yard to sit in and a walled garden to enjoy during the summer months.
Ardee has been a wonderful place to be brought up. Everyone is so friendly and I have to say, I can get everything I need here. Sometimes I realised days have gone by and I never moved the car..! I walk along the old railway and up to the jumping church, great bike rides over the bog, where they cut the turf. Nice tea shops, clothes shop, restaurants and lively Irish pubs. Everyone knows everyone in a simple kind of way.
  • This is a unique stay in an actual castle squashed into a row of buildings right in the middle of Ardee! I stayed in the William suite with a room and bathroom down a private hall up a fairly tightly spiraled staircase - carry-on size or daybag luggage recommended. The room did seem to get a little cool in the morning - but it’s a stone castle in February and not unexpected. The room stayed dark with optional indoor shutters and curtains. The bathroom featured a separate soaking tub, rainfall shower and an unexpected toilet room space. The drawing room was inviting and comfortable with excellent WiFi connections. Hands down, the best part was the visit to the top of the turret! Keep going up the spiral staircase, through a fairly small door, a bit further and then you have a turret-top view of the village! Such fun!

    Grace2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely stay at the castle!! Amazing hospitality with breakfast food provided, and games to play! The views from the top of the castle are lovely, would definitely recommend a visit! • Very nice cottage in a rural spot. We used it as a base to do Listoke Gin School, which is about 3kms away, and it worked a treat!

  • This was the second time I've stayed in Stephen's place. And would do so again! Can highly recommend this beautiful, cosy house.

  • Spent two nights here on wet and windy evenings in February, the cottage was absolutely idyllic. Despite the weather, the cottage was lovely and cozy and quiet throughout our stay. Very close to commute to Drogheda/Dundalk. Will definitely be returning in the summer months!

    Ciara2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in Stephen's house. It's a fantastic little escape away, and feels very spacious with its double height living area. It's very warm and cozy. We will definitely return for more stays, can't recommend it highly enough.

lovely blend of country side and surround by the sea
  • Beautiful little spot nice for a quiet romantic getaway, nice and private only draw back was the spiral stairs are very narrow. Otherwise it was excellent

  • Is was fantastic, very nice place with a jacuzzi!!!! We enjoyed the peaceful surounding & beautyful nature in the little cottage. Nice bed, cosy house and A friendly host.

  • We had a beautiful time in the cottage. Mark is a great host and we think that we'll come again. Thanks a lot!

    Esther2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wish we had given ourselves more time to explore the area around this cute cottage stay. The cottage itself was tricky to find in the dark but Mark's instructions were invaluable and he always responded really quickly! Nice touches like milk, bread and eggs very much appreciated. Suggest taking some DVDs if you like a quiet night in, on the cosy sofas with the electric fire on as TV signal intermittent (no fault of the host of course!) Hot tub really enjoyable and Mark quick to come pop it on for us.

    Megan2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful property in a peaceful location - everything you need for a home away from home !

    Michael2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Glebe cottage for 3 nights. Mark's attention to detail via message before our arrival provided the information we needed for a hassle free check-in. On arrival, milk, bread and eggs were left for us which was a pleasant surprise. The cottage had everything we needed and we couldn't have asked for a more peaceful and laid back stay. The hot tub was our main reason for booking Glebe cottage and it did not disappoint. Thank-you Mark and family, we will definitely be back!

Situated by the water in Omeath, this end of terrace house is in a quiet area on the edge of the village. 2 minutes walk to the local beach and amenities including shops, pubs & cafe. Great walking trail to Carlingford and treks through the mountains
  • We were quite comfortable in the second floor master bedroom of Elizabeth’s townhouse right on the coast in Omeath. There’s a lovely view from the shared space downstairs, rain or shine, and a walkable pub. As others have noted, the en suite bathroom is very small, but we were happy to see that is partly because the shower is a good size (quite a bit larger than the tiny corner showers that are often found). Elizabeth went well beyond expectations as a hostess. We loved the food, local tips, and especially the conversation. Enjoy!

    Barry2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth was a fantastic host. She is extremely friendly & made our stay very comfortable. Would highly recommend staying with Elizabeth.

    Niall2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth was so welcoming and we really enjoyed our stay with her. The views from her house across Carlingford Lough to Warrenpoint are breathtaking. Elizabeth is quite a character and we really enjoyed chatting to her about Ireland, her life, her family and her time in Australia!

    Kathryn2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth's house is beautifully located on Carlingford Lough, in a quiet area with wonderful views of the mountains across the lough and plenty to see and do in the vicinity. Great hospitality, Elizabeth is a lovely host who cooks yummy Irish breakfasts. The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed (a bit on the short side though if you're taller than 1m90 ;)) and an en-suite bathroom. Warmly recommended!

    Irene2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot stress enough how incredible of a host Elizabeth was. The home was very comfortable, quiet and spotless. The location right by the water was perfect. Elizabeth was very gracious and offered us an amazing Irish breakfast every morning. We enjoyed talking with Elizabeth over tea! She is such a wonderful host!

    James2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Super nice little house right on the water with super nice hostess

    Sebastian2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay with Elizabeth. The place was amazing on a quiet street with beautiful views of Carlingford Lough. Elizabeth was a great host. It was wonderful sitting and talking with Elizabeth over tea.

    Brian2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed for 1 night but loved everything about it. The room was large and very comfortable with a private bathroom. The house is really nice and right on the water with great views and its right at the beginning of the omeath to carlingford greenway for anyone who wants to walk that route. Breakfast was really good and Elizabeth is really nice and we had a few great chats. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Everything was amazing and we would highly recommend to stay here.

Tom's Cabin is a cosy, luxury log cabin located on the side of Slieve Foy, only a mile from the medieval village of Carlingford and all its bars and restaurants. From the cabin there are spectacular views of Carlingford Lough, the Mourne Mountains and the Irish Sea. The cabin is next to our house but completely private. It is centrally heated and finished to a high standard with all you need to enjoy a peaceful, relaxing stay in a picturesque setting.
  • We stayed in toms cabin for 2 nights. The place was absolutely amazing. There just so happened to be a storm this weekend but the cabin was still really toasty and cozy. The place is really private and a lovely break from city living! What made it extra special was the spectacular view and the thoughtful breakfast treats and drinks left for us by mark and niki! Would definitely return.

  • Toms cabin was the perfect spot to wind down our busy trip throughout Ireland . The personal touches made this stay remarkable . Toms hospitality far exceeded previous experiences with air b & b . The area provided the best seafood dining we have had . The scenery speaks for itself and we didn’t want to leave . The cabin itself provided all necessary accommodations and supplies . Very warm and Cosy and immaculately clean .

    Liz2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cannot recommend this place highly enough. The most perfect cabin in the most beautiful setting, finished to such a high spec, really breathtaking views of the changing lough, mists rolling in, such peace and tranquility, quintessential dramatic Irish scenery. The cabin is clean and very comfortable, equipped with a cosy, relaxing seating area. We ate outside, listened to music on the speaker, practised yoga on the decking and my partner could even catch Match Of The Day on the Sky TV. Mark and Niki could not have been more accommodating, the most welcoming and gorgeous hosts. No words, just go.

    Ruth2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • I travelled to Carlingford by public transport, Mark kindly collected me. On arrival I was presented with the most amazing place, views and a spotless place with everything one would need. Plus a bottle of wine and some food. I don’t like telling anyone how good this place is, as I want to go back. The quality of the cabin is first class.

  • I really enjoyed my weekend stay in Tom's cabin. Such a peaceful little spot. Will have to return in summer to try out the balcony. Perfect location for the pubs in town, but we couldn’t wait to get back, light the fire & cosy up on the sofa. Everything we needed for a relaxing break. Thanks to the host for swift communication & a lovely house.

  • Tracey's place was perfect for us, so much more space than I expected, amazing views of the mountains behind the home it was such a great way to wake up. Great location so easy to get around the town I would highly recommend Luisin Cottage and we will 100% be back again.

  • This is the most amazing little find if you are looking for a place that is close to the town but really private and quiet. Really cosy and comfortable - you'll want for nothing as it is so well equipped. Really clean and warm. Hosts were superb throughout.

  • Great cosy little cottage right on the edge of town. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided. Would definitely recommend

  • Very nice little place, when we arrived it was just like the photos although it was a little cold and didn't really keep the heat in, we had problems with one if the radiators but was okay we just kept the fire lighting, all the people in the town were very friendly as well. Would definitely recommend, but there were a few daddy long legs but they were just chilling. Thank you

  • Lovely bungalow in an ideal location for exploring. The kids loved the games that were left, as well as the DVDs. We loved the stove and the comfy sofas and the relaxation on a chilly winter's evening. The Centra a minute's walk away was a bonus, handy to pick up the milk that was forgotten in the shop for provisions!

Our accomodation consists of a large bedroom with enough space for our guests to seat and read a book under the backdrop of the beautiful Cooley Mountains. There is ample space in the room for children to play and parents to relax. There are some childrens toys available in the room. The bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom across a spacious private landing area. The kitchen is a shared environment. A continental breakfast is included in the price of our accommodation.
Our home is nestled in the beautiful Cooley Mountains. The surrounding area is a quite rural environment yet only 15 minutes from two major towns. Dundalk and Newry offer everything you could need. The local townland is called Glenmore and it has to be the most friendly part of Ireland. Everyone is very welcoming and only to happy to help each other out. Carlingford is the nearest village only 10mins away by car. It is a beautiful medival village with many historic featured like King John's Castle.

  • We spent one night with our 1.5 year old son in this beautiful landscape. We were greeted very friendly by the family. Our son had a lot of fun with the dear, calm and old dog, the ponies, the pigs, chickens and the two daughters of the family. The room was very large and comfortably furnished. Some toys for younger and older children were an added plus. Everything was very clean. Directly behind the house you could walk between sheep in the mountains. We can fully recommend this accommodation.

    Daniel2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really lovely area- near Carlingford Lough and some of the prettiest scenery we saw in our week in Ireland. We would have loved to stay longer to enjoy the area more. We really enjoyed the hospitality and kindness of this family and appreciated the spacious and private upstairs suite in their lovely home. Very welcoming and beautiful location!

  • Would totally recommend Lloyd's place for families. A really friendly, welcoming family and such a relaxing place to stay. The kids had a brilliant time and didn't want to leave, if they weren't playing with the animals they were out walking with Lloyd's two girls. Thanks for a lovely stay.

  • Absolutely amazing and so much better than we could have hoped. The view is stunning and the family is very warm and welcomming. They gave us good advice to were we could have a lovely dinner, and what to see in Carlingford. In the morning we had a good cup of coffee and the best Irish breakfast there is. The room was big with a good view. We had our own private bathroom which was very clean. The next morning we went for a 3 hour walk, the trail starts at the accomodation. Lloyd is a very good guide! The hike took our breath away. This is a place were we regret we didn’t book more nights. Thank you so much for making our stay so comfortable. You are very kind people, we loved it.

This is a traditional style Mongolian yurt with ash frame and canvas cover. The space has 1 double bed and 2 single beds suitable for a family of 4. The yurt includes large wood-fired stove, electric heater, reading lamp with wireless charger, additional furnishings, lanterns, fairy lights, crisp white linen, bath towels and Hand Made Soap Company toiletries. Holly is fondly known to regulars as the "Back Stage" yurt as it offers unique views of the infamous Concert Field and Backstage area below Slane Castle. Enjoy breakfast on the veranda or just watch the sunset behind the castle as you plan your next day of adventures. There's a BBQ, wood-fired hot tub, clay pizza oven and self-catering organic food packs with ingredients from the farm.
We're on the Slane Castle estate close to the historic village of Slane and Bru Na Boinne (UNESCO ). There are great views across the River Boyne and the surrounding country. We have great family-friendly activities and good dining options on and off the farm. You’ll love my place because of the location, facilities, space & views. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (+ kids).
Rock Farm Slane is set in the heart of the Slane Castle estate in the centre of the Boyne Valley on the banks of the River Boyne. The Glamping is located in a parkland area of outstanding natural beauty with views of Slane Castle and the wider Boyne Valley. There are lots of historical and local attractions close by, but most guests end up staying more time than anticipated hanging out in the Glamping or on the wider organic farm. Slane is one of the best know heritage villages in Ireland. We also offer kayaking and electric bike hire to keep you busy while you're here.

Pine is one of our sweet Shepherd Huts. It has been traditionally designed and has a beautifully crafted interior. Boasting a kingsize bed it creates a cosy and romantic space perfect for two people or couple sharing.
This is a beautifully crafted Shepherd's Hut (wagon on wheels used by shepherds and railway signalmen in times gone by). Pine has its own small but highly efficient stove with a continual supply of eco-firelighters, kindling and firewood to keep you super cosy. We will help you light your fires and keep you warm with plenty of wood during your stay. Pine is located on our secluded woodland hideaway Glamping area with its own communal facilities (kitchen, showers, toilets and seating areas). In Winter Pine is moved to a more sheltered location by the main Glamping facilities and shares the whole Glamping field overlooking Slane Castle with just one other shepherd's hut Apple. This Glamping area also has a BBQ, wood-fired hot tub and clay pizza oven. So don't forget to order our self-catering pizza packs and BBQ meat packs with ingredients from our organic farm.

  • This was my second time staying at Rock Farm and I already can't wait for the next time. The weather was incredibly cold but it's hard to believe that the hut is a snug as it is inside. Apart from the fires, there are electric heaters and hot water bottles, if you're visiting in the winter. We spent lots of time in the communal living area. Unfortunately one of us was ill for the whole stay so we couldn't do much but it was actually lovely to stay warm and read and recuperate. Niamh very kindly dropped us into town, knowing that one of us was unwell, to save us a blustery walk. Definitely recommend a trip to the distillery and castle and nearby restaurant Inside Out, which was delicious. Don't forget your wellies and your books and enough wine and you'll have a beautiful stay! Thanks so much again Carina, Niamh, Rachel et al! x

  • Our stay at Rock Farm Slane was wonderful and so much better than we ever could have expected. The hut itself is lovely – very cozy and way bigger than it appears in the photos (one of us is 6'3"). The campsite is also amazing, with everything you could possibility need within a few metres. We ordered both the breakfast and pizza packs, which saved us time and hassle of going shopping before arriving. The food provided was super fresh and we were pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes. We especially loved the hot tub, the pizza oven, and having the ability to walk around the farm to visit the animals. The location is fantastic, as well – only a five minute drive to Slane Castle and the Distillery. We highly recommend staying here if you can. We're already planning a trip back in summer :)

Old workers cottage. In a quiet area not to far from a nice village. Halfway between Dublin and Belfast, close to Newgrange and Dowth and the battle of the boyne, for the younger children tayto Park and some nice beaches are approx 30 mins away. Linda will be able to fill you in with any local information needed. The house is heated by solid fuel cooker and also has oil heating. We are constantly refurbishing the house with the income from Airbnb.
We live on a narrow road you have to be careful there can be many obstacles you will find when you come around a corner for example children, animals or tractors.
  • Great! Large country cottage, short drive to Dundalk, Forkhill, and surrounding areas, less than an hour to central Dublin. It's warm, clean and comfortable, and Linda's a considerate host. Many thanks.

  • The Cottage is in a rural area and is completely restful. You have to have your own transport, it is about three kilometres from Tallanstown and there is no public transport. Though not impossible, taxi's aren't readily available. Nearby Ardee is a town with most amenities. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and you'll find Linda and James perfect hosts.

  • A cracking wee treehouse that ideally would have been amazing but our booking was at the beginning of the Covid19 scare and it kind of put a dampener on it. But we will definitely return. Lively hosts with great contact. Thank you.

  • The treehouse is a lovely little getaway in beautiful surroundings. We stayed in February so it was cold outside but very cosy in the treehouse. We made use of the kitchen facilities to make dinner and it was lovely to sit and eat at the window looking out on the trees and countryside. My little daughter just loved the novelty of staying in a treehouse, and so did I! Padraig and Eileen were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. The nearby Templetown beach was beautiful and deserted. I heard the pub down the road does nice food, but in winter this is only on weekends. Also Barry's shop does great ice cream in spring/ summer. There is also wifi and tv in the treehouse should you need them. We will definitely be back to stay! Thank you!

  • The treehouse was perfect. Padraig and his family were so lovely, warm and accommodating. The treehouse itself was cosy and warmed up quickly. Beautiful views from it in the morning 😊 Padraig gave us a jar of honey from his bees. Will definitely return!

  • We stayed in this dream house after visiting Northern Ireland during the weekend. We checked in later than expected and Padraig was very friendly and helpful. The house was immaculate and hot. It has towels, sheets and comforters. Undoubtedly an incredible experience and recommended to anyone who has the opportunity to venture to know a little more about Ireland.
