Entire home/apt in Mt Pleasant
The best part about this place is the delightful and relaxing back deck, with comfortable chairs and a fantastic view of the giant container ships and the sailboats and shrimp boats and you can see Fort Sumter and Castle Pinckney and Fort Johnson (which is now a marine lab) and Crab Bank and Patriots Point and Shem Creek and oh, I could go on and on about the birds and the otters and the Diamond-backed Terrapins but thankfully no alligators in our creek!
Public transit is not very good in Charleston, to put it mildly. There's a Water Taxi service from Patriot's Point to downtown Charleston that you can bike over to. I have 3 bikes that can be used (not fancy), and they can go on the Water Taxi so you can explore Historic Charleston by bike, which is really fun. But to enjoy all Charleston has to offer, from the historic district to the beaches to the plantations, you really need to have a car. That said, it's an easy walk from the apartment to a Starbucks, also Shem Creek restaurants and Shem Creek Park.
1 BR, full bath, living room, in garage apt with separate entrance. Right by Shem Creek and Patriot's Point, at the foot of the Cooper River Bridge. Incredibly convenient location: 4 miles to downtown Charleston, 5 miles to Sullivan's Island and beaches. The TV has broadcast channels, but no cable. WiFi in the apt. Dock, fabulous views from the back porch of Ft Sumter and the ships in the harbor . Refrigerator, coffeemaker, 2-burner hotplate (it's in a drawer in the kitchen), toaster oven, & microwave in the apartment. Breakfast not included, but there will be coffee you can make in the morning, and orange juice, and bagels or English muffins, and butter and jam. Hairdryer is in the bathroom. Iron, steamer, and ironing board are in the closet.
I try to be there when guests arrive, so I can show off the place, but it works out ok if I'm away when they arrive and they let themselves in.
•Lots of people walk up to the top of the Ravenel Bridge; the views are spectacular. It’s about 3/4 mile to the foot of the bridge. Bring a windbreaker, it’s usually windy up there.
This place is so peaceful and quiet, it's like living in the country, but it is literally 10 minutes from the heart of downtown Charleston, and less than that to the beaches. So it's the best of both worlds!
•The back porch is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the view. Take your coffee out there in the mornings, or your wine in the evenings, and make yourselves at home.
•Whole Foods is only a half mile away, and Trader Joe’s is just a little farther past it. And there is a huge Harris Teeter grocery store (it's open 24/7) across the street from Whole Foods. And about a million great restaurants in this town...
•Kayaks: There are 2 kayaks for your use. Please ask where the paddles and the life vests are. You are required to have a life vest and a whistle with you. A cel phone in a waterproof bag could come in handy, hopefully you won't need it. These are basic kayaks, and they are not good for long trips or open water. Please enjoy them in the creek here – at high tide you can paddle all the way up to Coleman Blvd and it is amazingly remote and otherworldly. Herons, Egrets, Ibis, Cormorants, Pelicans, it's wonderful. Or you can paddle out the creek and turn left to go up Shem Creek. You can even stop for a bite to eat or a drink at the restaurants along the creek. Watch out for shrimp boats or long-liners or commercial fishing boats: stay to the edges of the waterway.
• Weather and tides and schedules permitting, I would love to take you out for a short boat ride in my motorboat. Charleston from the water is a whole new experience, always different, always fun… We'll just have to see if we can work it into your trip.
•I have 3 bikes you can use. It's really fun to bike across the little Shem Creek bridge around the old Village, and out to the very pretty Pitt Street bridge park which looks out on the IntraCoastal Waterway and across to Sullivan's Island (about 2 miles to the Pitt St Bridge each way). Or you can ride out on the new Shem Creek Park dock (very close by, less than ½ mile), or head over to Patriot's Point which has a nice bike path and you can ride out to the marina that's right on the harbor. Or if you're intrepid, you can bike over the giant Ravenel bridge. Ask and I'll show the bikes to you and tell you the combinations to the locks. There are 2 helmets for you. Please use them!
You can fish from the dock, and/or catch Blue Crabs. Or you can just enjoy the dock with the Green Herons and the Black Skimmers flying up and down the creek.
Oh, and Patriot's Point golf course is less than a mile away.
I do enjoy interacting with guests, but sometimes it just works out that we barely see each other.

Future plans for the space include a yard built for entertaining, with a fire pit, gazebo, and outdoor games shared with the other unique homes on the lot. (Coming summer 2017)

Welcome to our new, modern loft space with full kitchen and bath! The private apartment is surrounded by an award-winning garden that has been featured on Charleston's Spring Garden Tours. We are located in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of several restaurants/bars, the Terrace Theater and the Charleston Pour House. It's a short, scenic drive to Folly beach and only ten minutes to downtown. Our backyard chickens often roam the garden and are great entertainment for kids.
Riverland Terrace is one of the best neighborhoods in Charleston. It has beautiful oaks, views of the water, a public boat landing, several great restaurants, the Charleston Municipal golf course. It's a lovely place to explore on foot or by bike. It's a quick drive to downtown Charleston (5 miles) and Folly Beach (9 miles).
We are a block from a CARTA (bus) stop and in walking distance to several restaurants, bars, theater and a Sunday Farmer's market. We are on a safe and quiet street with plenty of parking available.
Bikes are available for cruising the neighborhood.
We have six chickens that share the yard but there are no roosters in the flock so you don't have to worry about an early morning wake up.
Our neighbor is a tour guide with the City of Charleston and is often available for private tours if her schedule allows.
A very peaceful and relaxing space both inside and out! Get away from the clutter and the TV.
Steps lead to the second story loft apartment above our studio work space.
We live in the main house and are often on the go, but we are just a phone call away if you need anything or have questions about fun things to do in Charleston.
Private room in Mount Pleasant
Convenient location with new furnishings. Towels, Sheets, and toiletries provided. Hardwood floors/tile through out, Above ground saltwater pool. Personal bathroom not shared with owner. Access to kitchen, Laundry room, Living room and outdoor space.
This is a laid back neighborhood surrounded by beautiful old oak trees, and the neighbors are very open, eclectic and friendly. There is a playground and basketball court on the next street, and you are safe to walk around all hours of the night. It's the kind of place where you don't have to lock your car or your house...not saying that you shouldn't though!
5 min walking distance to public bus, but there are cab services and UBER as well.
I am super clean so you would never notice I had dogs if I didn't tell you, and they sleep in my room, there is no "dog smell" in this house!! You are welcome to bring a dog, just make sure I am aware and we can introduce them to mine accordingly upon arrival. The 1/2 acre yard is also fenced in. Sorry, but i can't do cats!
CLOSE TO EVERYTHING!! I have owned the home for 10 years and reside on the property. I have a bathroom in my bedroom, so guests have their own. house is SUPER clean! There is also a washer and dryer. This is a very safe and beautiful neighborhood and there are many restaurants bars and shops within walking distance. Mount Pleasant is currently the top city to live in Charleston due to its charm, beauty, and convenient location. You're just 10 minutes from Isle of Palms beach and downtown, and about 20 minutes from Folly Beach. I love this part of Mount Pleasant because it is so close to everything!
Guests will have their own private room with queen size bed, cable TV, auxiliary speakers for your devices, closet with provided hangers, mini-fridge, and furniture for storage. You also have access to the Kitchen, Laundry room, and shared living spaces, as well as the pool when the weather is right.
I have lived in the area my whole life and I am very helpful with recommending top spots to visit and dine. I am very open-minded and get along well with pretty much anyone. I'm pretty in tune to what people want or need, so I can be as involved as you may need, or just stay out of they way and give you your privacy!
Entire home/apt in North Charleston
The Coastal Studio is located in the Park Circle neighborhood of Charleston: 3 Miles from the NPAC, 5 miles from the airport, 7 miles to DT Charleston, 12 miles to the closest beach, under a mile to Park Circle restaurants and bars.
Park Circle is an upcoming and vibrant community just north of DT Charleston. Some people call it the Brooklyn of Charleston. Within arm's reach of the Tanger Outlets, NPAC, and all major highways you can just about get anywhere in 15-20 mins. Park Circle was developed in the 1940s and 1950s as a neighborhood for the employees of the Navy Base and its industries. The Navy Base was decommissioned in the 1990s and over the past 30 years the area has developed into a hip neighborhood for people who want to be close to everything that CHS has to offer. In the middle of the neighborhood is the circle with a disc golf course. From there, roads and streets span out for miles to create a very unique and walkable neighborhood.
Uber and Lyft are readily available and can get you about anywhere. With no surge rates, you can get DT for about $10.
The Coastal Studio is adjoined to my 1950's cottage. As a guest, you have your own private entrance and studio, your own air conditioning system, and your own private bathroom. No interaction with me the owner unless you need it! I worked with my friend Noah who is a contractor to build a conceptual space this is functional and operates independently of the main house. There is some really great wood work in the bed frame along with a lot of attention to detail throughout the space. I hand selected some great art pieces including a vintage map of the harbour which hangs at the foot of the bed. The studio is a clean and relaxed atmosphere right off of 526. The Queen bed and sheets are brand new and very comfortable. The bathroom is located right down the hall with clean towels, soap and shampoo.
You have full access to the studio and back porch.
I'm here to give advice on the neighborhood and greater Charleston: where to eat, sights, beaches, best bar & restaurants. Aside from that, I'm usually on the go.
Private room in Charleston
Nestled between the Charleston plantations and downtown, enjoy a private ensuite bathroom with a Comfortaire queen bed with dual select comfort settings. Enjoy WIFI, TV, bedroom suit for storage, ceiling fan, & access to kitchen with coffee.
The neighborhood is a mixture of new and old, generally with older small houses. One end of the street houses the Citadel mall and theater (1/2 mile from house). Note that the home is on a busy street. Traffic noise in the room is considered acceptable, as it is has soundproofing on the windows, but we suggest that light sleepers bring a fan or a white noise machine just in case.
This location is central to all areas in Charleston. Downtown is just over 6 miles, Folly Beach is 14.5 miles, and the plantations are only a few miles away. Charleston does have a bus system, CARTA. You can view the schedules online. (Make sure you are looking at Charleston, SC, rather than other cities which begin with a "C"). In my experience, the buses travel less often than desired, may not take you to all places that you might want to visit, and are often delayed. There is a bus stop at the mall almost exactly 1/2 mile from the house. While there is a bus stop one house away, it is used less often for pickups and more often for drop offs. Some streets are better for biking than others. I recommend traveling down HWY 61/Ashley River Road to access downtown, as there is a bike lane for part of the way.
The location is less than a half mile from Citadel Mall, and approximately 6 miles from the start of downtown. (Downtown is approximately 1 mile east to west and 2 miles north to south). A cat frequents the outside, but is never allowed inside, as I have a slight allergy to cats.
The room has a queen Comfortaire mattress that has dual adjustable firmness control. The room includes a night stand, chest, and TV with cable. The ensuite bathroom is used only by you, and has a shower. There is a tankless gas water heater that provides endless hot water. WIFI is included. If you wish to stay more than 27 days, a formal lease and security deposit is required. There is space for one (1) vehicle, and your space is one out of three on the parking pad in the rear of the house. All other vehicles must be parked off site as the other spaces are reserved.
Aside from the room and bathroom, the common area kitchen and living room is available on a first come or shared basis. There is coffee available in the kitchen. While the areas are for use 24 hours, please keep the common room quiet and TV turned down between 11 pm - 8 am. There is a Washer and Dryer in the garage. Please note that it is a front loading washer, which is more efficient (1/3 water use) than the stand up type. Thus, you will only need to use 1/3 of the detergent that stand up washers call for.
I travel extensively so may not be here when you arrive. When I am gone, I have my friend, Liana, acts as the Airbnb manager in my stead.
My place is close to great views, restaurants and dining, and the beach. You’ll love my place because of the coziness, the location, and the people. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and furry friends (pets).
Quaint Cottage Perfect for Couple or Single Travelers. Non-Smoking.
Entire home/apt in North Charleston
Brand new suite includes a full kitchen, sofa, dining area & is loaded with amenities. Located in Park Circle, it's an easy drive to downtown, airport, & walking distance of local restaurants on East Montague Ave. Park Circle is a revitalized community and has been voted the trendiest neighborhood in the Charleston area! The property is pet-friendly and has a fenced-in back yard.
Park Circle was voted by Matador Network as one of the top 10 trendiest neighborhoods in the US. This property is located beside Quarterman Park (Duck Pond) and is a short walk to great dining and nightlife in Park Circle.
You will have a free, designated parking spot. There is bus transportation but I do not recommend it. The property is located inside I-526 and it is extremely easy to get downtown or to the airport. Few properties allow such easy access to all of the Charleston area.
I have a fold out cot for a 3rd person, if needed. Please let me know upon booking if it will be needed.
This pet-friendly, unique apartment is detached from my home. The location (located within the heart of Park Circle) is a very short drive to downtown, the airport, Tanger outlets, etc. However, many guests have a hard time leaving the downtown Park Circle as it provides a wealth of great dining and nightlife, and is within walking distance of the apartment.
As my guests you have private access to the apartment. However, please take advantage of the fenced backyard, fire-pit, grill, etc. If you need to do laundry, just notify me and I will let you inside the main house.
I will not bother you unless you request. That being said, I have made some great friends with previous guests and encourage all to take advantage of the property. I will often be in the backyard, having a drink by the fire pit. You are encouraged to join me if you wish. Basically, your interaction with me is as little or as much as you choose.
Close to DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON, art, culture, restaurants, dining, parks. This is a private room over the garage of my home with a SEPARATE entrance. Brand new construction. Large rm with a sitting area, full bath with tile floors and granite counter. Keurig coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator with a freezer provided. Walking distance to restaurants in the Riverland Terrace neighborhood. A short Uber ride to downtown Charleston ( less than 15 minutes ) and about 15 min to Folly Beach.
The property is located in the historic Riverland Terrace neighborhood. The grounds of the area were once Wappoo Hall Plantation. There is a gorgeous avenue of oaks well over 100 years old right around the corner. This is a great neighborhood to walk or bike in. The Intracoastal Waterway and the Stono River boarder the neighborhood. Beautiful sunsets can be found just across the street. The Loft is very close to downtown Charleston and Folly Beach. This is a premier area of Charleston. Bordering the neighborhood is Terrace Plaza which is home to a small theater ( buy your wine or beer and take into the movie ) and several restaurants.
The Loft is a short Uber ride to downtown historic Charleston. Less than 15 minutes. Also about 15 minutes to Folly Beach. Guests are close to all the area has to offer.
There are two older bikes in the garage that guests may use for neighborhood use only . All they have to do is request in advance. If they are available they are welcome to use them. Also, during warmer months I can provide two beach chairs and a cooler. Check out all the reviews! They sum up how much everyone loves the loft and why. If more than one night guests will be provided a bottle of wine waiting on them upon arrival. Also, mints, crackers and breakfast bars in the event you need a snack. Soap is provided.
Everyone that stays in the Loft loves the privacy and the spaciousness of it. The room is about 320 sq feet with a KING size bed with a new Certa Mattress. There is a comfortable sitting area with a 40 inch flat screen TV where you can sit back and relax. There is plenty of parking and guests enter through a private entrance that is separate from the main house. Guests have their own central Heat and Air to have complete control over their room temperatures. All guests have equated the space to that of a luxury hotel room with everything they could possibly want including an ironing board and iron! Also the Intracoastal Waterway is right across the street. There is a spot across from the house where guests can go to watch the sunset over the water.
The Loft is completely separate from the main house. It is a large suite built over the garage of my home with its own entrance and separate sidewalk from the main house. It ensures total privacy.
I can be available by text at anytime if guests need advise or information. We could run into each other in the drive way. But the guest has total privacy. The entire set up is structured for everyone's privacy. Mine and the guest.
Welcome to the strange nexus of the universe where you can live tiny and large at the same time! We can't wait to host you. Please read our profile and take note of the house rules, then let us know if you have any questions!
If you're driving at the right time, you can be downtown in less than ten minutes or on Folly Beach in fifteen. Or you can easily jump to John's Island, where you can check out the Angel Oak or go wake boarding and play disc golf on Whitney Lakes. When you decide to come back, the perfect location awaits: relaxing and peaceful, with great venues just a walk or bike ride away.
We're very happy to live where we do. The neighborhood, Riverland Terrace, is full of charm and wonderful people. Funky 1950's bungalows are sprinkled throughout. All who live here seem to do so with joy. Joggers, dog walkers, and families abound. There is a golf course, a community garden, and beautiful Wappoo Drive, lined with a tunnel of live oaks. There is a children's park and boat landing. And there is, within a three minute bike ride or short walk, some really great businesses: an indie movie theater (The Terrace Theatre), a jazz bar/cafe (How Art Thou), great restaurants (Zia's Taqueria, Crust, Maybank Public House, & The Lot), and a larger-sized music venue (The Pour House).
There is also a farmer's market at the Pour House on Sundays, 11am-3pm. This is not to be missed, with live music and drinks and local crafts. You can cruise there via the bicycles if you like.
Uber is in full effect in Charleston.
The aforementioned bikes in the shed.
If you go to Folly, parking is free -- just make sure your tires don't touch the road; park on dirt or sand only, and 15 feet from a corner, and you'll get no tickets.
This newly-built tiny home tries really hard to be as wonderful as the cedar tree it sits next to. It even dressed in fancy cedar siding and lathered itself with tung oil. And although its efforts may have failed (it's hard to top mother nature), a definite theme has been born. Runner-up names included Hail Cedar! and 20,000 Leagues Beneath the Cedar.
- Two cruiser bicycles (one smaller, one larger)
- Two comfy beach chairs, beach towels, bag, and a cooler
- Two hammocks!
- Outdoor patio with rocking chairs
- Outdoor shower
- Unique board games designed for two-person play
- Bluetooth speaker
- White noise maker
- A small book collection
The bicycles are especially great, because there are wonderful restaurants and music venues within a leisurely five minute ride. More on that later. Now, onto the house:
It's tiny! But it doesn't feel that way. The light color of the bamboo flooring, the many windows and the high ceilings help to open it up. The loft holds a queen-sized mattress, which sits low to the floor on tatami mats. There is a full bath with a rain-down shower, air vent, and cloth curtain door. There is a fully functional kitchen, with gas stove and microwave. There is a desk/table and a futon couch that opens to sleep an (additional) adult or two young children (who are very welcome).
Amenities for daily living abound: wi-fi; soaps, towels & bed linens; cookware; electrical kettle; coffee maker and french press; a selection of teas and coffee; wine glasses and a wine opener, etc. If you are in need of anything, just ask!
The house sits on the front left corner of our property and is surrounded on three sides by a privacy fence. The front faces the driveway, which is where you'll pull up and park (left side). In effect, because of the tall fence, guests have an entire property to themselves. Next to the house there is a patio with rocking chairs, and a spot for a hammock (which is provided). There is also a lean-to shed, housing the bicycles and beach items. The house key is in a lock box mounted near the front door; we'll share the code before your arrival.
So, we're a daddy/daughter team. I'm Brian, dad to a very sweet six-year-old named Ava. We both love to chat and meet people, Ava just expresses that love by staring at the ground or hiding behind my leg. We're here to help in any way we can, but we also want to give you plenty of space and privacy. Feel free to call or text any time before or during your stay.
This 1940's adorable bungalow is 2.5 miles to downtown Charleston and 10 miles to Folly beach. You are just a short walk from the Avondale district where you will enjoy shopping, dining and nightlife. Cozy, comfortable and convenient to everything!
If you have your own vehicle you'll be very near downtown Charleston, the beaches and within walking distance to the Avondale district. If you don't have a vehicle we recommend Uber, Green Taxi or Charleston Yellow Cab. There is local bus service through CARTA although we would recommend Uber or a taxi for proximity and convenience.
This cozy bungalow in the hip Avondale section is perfect for your Charleston getaway! Built in the 1940's with many of the original details throughout. The front porch is covered in Jasmine and is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee. Eat-in kitchen with stove, oven and refrigerator. Washer & Dryer included! You can take a short 5 minute walk to the Avondale business district where you'll find some of the most popular shopping and dining options in Charleston including: Al Di La (Italian restaurant), Pearlz Oyster Bar, Classic Coffee, Triangle Char and Bar, Avondale Wine and Cheese and more.
Downtown is a short 10 minute drive where you can take in all of the classic Charleston sights. Folly beach is also a short drive away.
The entire home is available for you to use during your stay!
We will make every effort to meet you in person upon arrival. We are available by phone or email throughout your stay. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns!

Relax in beautiful Charleston in this large master suite with Queen size bed and in-suite private bath with jetted tub! Less than 3 miles from Folly Beach and less than a 10-minute drive from historic Downtown Charleston, it's the perfect spot!
The best part of James Island is the slow, relaxed feel of the island. With beautiful, grand Live Oaks, loaded with Spanish Moss...occasionally it feels like stepping back in time. Very convenient to all James Island and Folly Beach restaurants, activities and just a short drive to James Island County Park, this neighborhood is close to everything you might need during your stay!
Public transit is available (CARTA), but a car is also very helpful! Please check the CARTA bus routes before booking if you do not have a car. I am located on Route 31.
I don't own a microwave but do have a clean gas stove with plenty of pots and pans if you need to hear anything up. Tea is also available if you don't do coffee. I keep the temperature around 75 which acclimates nicely here. I have ceiling fans in the bedrooms for a nice breeze as well. I also have two rooms in my house that I sometimes rent to Air BnB so if you're lucky, you may meet another cool couple during your stay. Most of the time they never cross paths but once in a while we all get to meet and hang out. Also, my neighbors dog sometimes jumps the fence to hang out in my yard. He's super nice and won't hurt anybody but he 's fairly big and may startle someone not expecting it. Once again, it rarely happens but once in a while, there's a big brown dog in my yard :). His name is Pup-Pup.
Easy access to Folly Beach - less than a 3 mile drive! Also easy access to Downtown Charleston - less than a 10 minute drive!
This master suite features a comfy pillow-top Queen sized bed with fresh towels and linens provided. The in-suite bath is huge and features a relaxing jetted tub and shower.
There is a Kokopelli inspired music room with instruments and lounging. Lowcountry living with beach elegance surrounded by majestic oak trees on a quiet ½ acre fenced-in property. We are only footsteps from Gold's Gym and a grocery store. Just down the street, visit James Island Park with tons of recreational activities. Right across and down the street from us you will find Kayak Adventures with year around tours of Charleston's winding salt marshes and indigenous wildlife.
Your visit includes breakfast snacks and fresh ground whole bean coffee.
