Places to stay in Casperia
In the middle of the countryside lays this beautiful apartment. It is a small yet cozy place. With a stunning view and only green fields around it.
Small yet accommodating apartment. Great for families that want to spend less and have an outdoor space for their kids to play.
Our area is very countryside. You will definitely need a car to get around. But it is so worth it.
  • Katharina and her husband are very hospitable and nice people. They were very attentive. We stayed in this apartment, only for one night and already left early in the morning. Therefore, I can say very little about housing itself. Despite the fact that the apartment is a little ascetic, it has everything you need for relaxation. A great advantage is its location. Not far from Rome, and at the same time in a very quiet, fabulous place. Lonely Italian country house, surrounded by nature and silence.

  • Their place is awsome, scary when you arrive in the night, as it is very secluded and in the middle of nowhere, but the more rewarding when you wake up in the morning!! Great hosts, very kind, clean place and the thing what you need to come to a rest!

  • Everything was nice. The host waited us until we arrived! I would come back again

  • Katharina is very kind, nice and caring. The house is very quiet and located in the distance. It is very relaxing and very exotic. I loved. The only downside we were devoured by mosquitoes. I recommend

  • Katharina and husband very friendly and helpful. Inside very comfortable and stylish. Peaceful and relaxing area. Hotspot working on and off.

  • For those who want to spend relaxing days immersed in the countryside, Katharina's accommodation is top. Katharina, the owner is very kind and available for anything. The house, equipped with everything you need to live, is immersed in the countryside of Forano, suitable for those who want to relax away from the chaos of the city. To get to the place and to move it is necessary to be self-driving.

  • Casperia is magical. Maria's apartment is super sweet. She was very accommodating in helping us transport our luggage up the hill which was much appreciated. The view out the window in the apartment is amazing. The size of the place is perfect for 2 people. We had coffee and treats waiting for us and even milk in the fridge. Amazing.

  • Cute cottage with stunning views, all perfect. Highly recommended!

  • It is in the heart of the historic center, you get there by walking for about ten minutes in the ancient streets, on foot.

  • Maria Rita is a very friendly person who cares about her guests. He made us find different things in the fridge such as fruit juices and coffee. Also oil, salt, sugar, etc. he told us we could use. Well restored apartment with balcony with view. Very good methane heating. I would stay here again.

Our home on via antica 14, is in the beautiful Sabina Mountains, one hour north of Rome, with train and bus service from the airports to Roccantica. Our medieval village is a completely unique experience of the real italian lifestyle set in a village that was built in 700 AD. You will also love the abundance of hiking trails, the food, and the friendliness of the locals. Our home is very accommodating for couples, solo adventurers, and families.
We have been renting our home for fifteen years through various agencies and are very pleased with our new relationship with AirBnB. There are two good sized bedrooms with queen (matrimonial) beds, dressers, lamps etc. There is a pullout couch in the living room that can accommodate one or two people. Satellite tv will allow you to check the news in a number of languages or to watch the local RAI italian stations. There is a radio and cd player in the living room as well. But the real entertainment lies in the views from either of the two terrazzos. Roccantica, despite its ancient past, has a modern fitness center with cardio and weight machines, fitness classes and other activities. See Sabina Fitness Roccantica on Face Book.
The village is a unique experience due to its medieval history and architecture. It is like stepping back in time, to a more peaceful era. There are two wonderful restaurants in town that are always pleased to welcome our guests. Just walking around the village is an adventure. Our neighbors are lovely and very happy to see guests at our home. There are also hiking trails behind the village that can occupy hours of your time if you find nature to be your refuge.
  • Roccantica is just amazing, and the terraces at the house seem to have the best view of the whole village. The house is big and clean, and has everything one needs even for a longer stay. If the weather is bad, you have to keep in mind that only the bathroom and a small hallway have a view towards the valley, the other rooms may be kind of dark. We had perfect days in the end of October, and in summer I'm sure it is also perfect because cool inside the ancient walls..

  • This was an amazing experience. We were looking for something authentic in the Rome area and found this hidden gem in the Hills. We went to several villages in the area and also took the train to Rome. The village is something you will never forget. What a view and character!!! To get your luggage to the house you need to organize a few steps but it was worth it all. The view is spectaculair and with 3 small kids iT worked out perfectly in the house. We did not expect that Much of the house but iT was absolutely something amazing. What a history in the house and village. The village has two good restaurants. And there are a few swimming Pools in the area. A Nice one was L’Oasis Piscina. And the host provided litterally everything you could think of. Absolutely something to recommend .

  • A house located on the highest part of this charming fortress, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the valley and the village. The accommodation is large and has two bathrooms; it is also supplied with everything that may be required. The guest is of exquisite courtesy and availability. A memorable experience.

  • This house is incredible, looks even better than the pictures and the view is stunning. Lovely medieval village ! Lee provides a guide for everything which is very helpful. The pool is ten minutes away by car and the entrance is a bit expensive but the pool is really nice. We’ll come back!

  • So fine. Go and see for yourself.

    Jesper2019-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely amazing! Lee provided very detailed instructions for our arrival and many helpful tips for the area. The apartment is comfortable and well equipped. The area is beyond compare - I’m torn between giving Lee the great rating he deserves and letting the cat out of the bag about this unspoilt gem. I can’t wait to come back.

    Susan2019-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying in this charming little village. Lee's home was great and offered great views from the balconies. We enjoyed checking out the surrounding town and enjoying the quiet countryside.

    Lorna2019-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house is in a beautiful village, it looks like it came out of a postcard! Maybe a little 'inconvenient to reach if you have some luggage but it is worth it for the view and the atmosphere. The use of the house is for aware people (there are a lot of instructions, very precise, scattered around and in the compendium that Lee will give you) but it is provided with every kind of accessory

    Appartamento melone
Forcelle al Sole is located just outside the small medieval village of Roccantica. Here the two ancient rural buildings transformed into apartments are situated. The cottages are next to a centennial olive grove and a forest, sited in one of the more striking Sabina's landscapes. Independent apartments are available, all with a bathroom and a kitchen, and organized on two levels: a ground floor and a mezzanine. Moreover, they come with a furnished outdoor area and a solarium corner. The apartments were built from portions of two old stone "caprareccia" dwellings which were completely restored. Both benefit of a unique location and offer a delightful panorama.
  • an exceptional place, ideal for relaxing and spending a few days in complete tranquility

    Luigi2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location for lovers of nature and tranquility. Starry nights and breathtaking sunsets, that's what you go against in this place! Nearby you can do different activities, such as hiking in the various trails or enjoy all the relaxation and peace that Roccantica can give. I really recommend this place, it's good for the soul!

    Maurizio2018-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place with a marvellous view. Great to geht away from it all! We had a wonderful time visiting the old villages around or simply sitting on the terrace watching the valley. The House is cool at Night, just Perfect for sleeping If you Open all windows for a while before going to bed. Highly recommended!

    Sandra2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • No doubt the best view we have ever had on any holiday. The house is in middle of hill above small mountain hamlet and it gives amazing views. The only noise were sheep bells from farm few hundreds meters away and birds. It comes with one issue, one needs to be able to get up there. We have a strong car now but with our previous city car we might have had troubles as the way up is extremely steep and in places made out of lose pebbles. As read in other reviews do big shopping before you come here as you are on isolated location. There is emergency bar/shop in town bellow but its really just emergency shopping. This place is great for just hanging around going for walks to visit donkeys and goats and relax.

    Tereza2018-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay in this beautifully located cottage. The views are absolutely mind blowing.

    Erich2018-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • What a place to kick back, relax and enjoy the view! Great secluded location but easy drive into nearby towns. Outdoor space was amazing. Some of the best sunsets in all our 3 weeks in Italy. Daily talks with the neighboring donkeys were enjoyed. You do have to pay a little extra for wifi and it does have high use limitations, but did not effect our stay negatively at all. Great hosts. Highly recommend.

    Tim2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • The place is really nice, and kept with care. Inside their olive grove, on the first slopes of the Sabini mountains, the view can span over the village and the mountains at a distance. A silence made up of details alone already describes the valley. Some paths are directly accessible (for Monte Pizzuto, 'or Revotto, a small freeclimbing wall or the first alpine mountains in the direction of Monte San Giovanni), but also the sunshine and reading is a good idea. The little villages retain a collection of medieval architecture, and little tourism. Hosts are discrete and available.

Casperia rests on a hilltop on the edge of the Sabina hills. Experience the tranquility of a tranquil medieval village just 1 hour north of the wonders and bustle of Rome with 2 en-suite bedrooms. The local station, Poggio Mirteto, is only 40 minutes from Rome, Tiburtina. Our apartment has been meticulously restored from its 12th century origins and offers guests to share in the delights of Casperia and its strategic location. It is one of the few towns in Europe prohibiting automobiles from the historical centre. Sabina is renowned for its olive oil and local tastings are available. It is possible to enjoy lunch in Rome at the Campo dei Fiori or Trastevere and take an afternoon train back to the calm of Casperia and relax with a glass of local wine while watching the sun go down over the Tiber Valley. You can take cooking lessons or yoga classes. If you wish to explore further afield Florence is 2 hours away while the famous towns of Orvieto and Assisi are significantly less. Sample traditional Italian food including local pizza, all within the area.

  • Extremely great views from windows! Sunrise is just amazing! Great location, somewhat 100 steps from Piazza S. Govanni Battista. Note it's pretty hard to climb all the city up though it seems Casperia knows nothing about being in a hurry at all!

  • Excellent location near the top of the town with great views - including a view from the liew😉 Lovely apartment with large, well appointed rooms and a nice kitchen with lots of natural light. Highly recommended

  • Casperia is a magical place and Alessio's home is the perfect place from which to enjoy it. The views are incredible and the home is lovely. We stayed there with friends and had a marvelous time. The bottle of Prosecco was a nice touch (thank you) and Alessio's brother was delightful (he checked us in). I highly recommend staying at Alessio's home - we did not want to leave.

    Rachael2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • My partner, Neil and I had an amazing stay in Casperia at Alessio’s apartment. Both Alessio and his girlfriend Bernadetta (who met us late and showed us where to go on arrival) were perfect hosts. Very friendly!and communicative, and it was just sad we couldn’t take the olive oil they gave us as a gift home with us - hand luggage only - but my dad will appreciate I’m sure! Knowing Casperia very well, as family live in the village, would recommend the location and this apartment to everyone - only challenge is the very small unorthodox shower - but that can be overcome with some small gymnastic movements! Thanks very much for a fantastic holiday, we wanted to stay longer, ciao Italy!

    Hannah2017-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • I had the best holiday, Casperia is an amazing and beautiful place, and Alessio's apartment allows to enjoy views from all sides of it! The flat is very clean, comfortable, has all the necessary appliances and even a fireplace (not that i needed it in September). The best feature for me though were the views from two of the bedrooms, simply breathtaking! Alessio is a very kind host, and i felt very welcomed and looked after. He went out of his way to ensure I had a great stay, and even gave me a lift to the train station at early hours! Thank you very much for everything Alessio, I will definitely come back to Casperia and 7 viste apartment! I really highly recommend this place

External portico with adjacent garden, from which to admire a beautiful sunset, watching the sun disappear over the tops of Soratte. The house is on two floors, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room with a large fireplace, a kitchen and a terrazo.
  • Beautifull warm new house on a hill with views of the valley and beyond. Situated in a quiet rustic village which offers some good stores and beautifull walks. The house is equipped with everything you might need and a fireplace to make it feel like home. Elena and Tiziano received us very well and were always easily contacted for every question that we had. We enjoyed this place so much that we extended our stay.

  • Quiet and clean, quiet and spacious. Great for those who want to get away from the chaos of the city. A few miles from the city but without giving up anything. The house is brand new and very comfortable, both indoors and outdoors. A beautiful glimpse of the Lazio hills for those who want a little time to be with themselves or with friends. Impeccable cleanliness that is fundamental for us ..... for the rest you just have to try. Highly recommended

Casperia is considered one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Central Italy, a small jewel. The old town centre, restored in the past two decades, is closed to car traffic. It offers, to the East, a wonderful view over the Sabini mountains and, to the West, it overlooks the Tiber valley and the mount Soratte, known as celebrated by the Latin poet Horace.

  • A small cellar very welcoming and tastefully decorated, in the heart of a wonderful village. Stefano was flawless with regards to hospitality and communication. We hope to return soon. It was a beautiful experience

  • The Stefano winery is a real gem! The house is very cozy, small but has everything you need. The spaces were very well managed. I didn't want to leave anymore! With the dark wood furniture and the Provencal style kitchen sink, it is also pleasant to wash the dishes! And the bathroom carved into the rock is truly unique! The house is located in a small street inside the village of Casperia which is all pedestrian, very typical. And it's near the entrance to the town, which is not to be underestimated considering that it's all uphill! Stefano was very kind and helpful, patient above all, given my late appointment. I hope to come back soon :)

Palazzo Forani is situated in a delightful stone hill village only 60km from Rome. The area, known as Sabina, is rich in art, culture, natural beauty and of course gastronomic delights. It will suit couples, singles, families, birthday or anniversary parties and even intimate weddings. At €70 per room per night it is really good value. The guest areas have been renovated with extreme care and respect for the great age of the buildings. Much of the furnishings dates back to the glorious 1700s.
Palazzo Forani also welcomes small groups as there are 3 separate wings. We have a minimum stay of 2 nights. Some bedrooms are triple therefore excellent value at €70 per room per night. We apply discounts for large groups or long stays. The courtyard can be used to eat out in or just relax with an aperitivo. The garden is of the old-fashioned variety, not manicured and landscaped! Palazzo Forani fronts onto one of the typical narrow, stone streets that wind their way around the hill village of Casperia up to the Baroque church and the town hall. Each wing has its own living space and kitchen and can therefore be occupied by different small groups or a large group can cook and eat in the marvellous party room. 12 people can however eat in the Granary kitchen. Please note that in winter we ask for a €200 contribution towards heating - this does not appear on the calculation of costs when you insert the number of guests so you must add it to the total. Also, our prices are on a per room basis which is not enabled on the website so il you calculate how many rooms you need and multiply by 70 you'll have an idea. Do ask us for a price though! We may have a special discount or a large group price for you!
Nearby you will find the wonderful l'Abbazia di Farfa, Lago di Turano, Caprarola, not to mention the jewels of 'Umbria, Orvieto, Perugia and many others.
  • It was a wonderful weekend! You could not think of a better way to celebrate these first 40 years! Casperia is beautiful, the wonderful surrounding countryside and Forani palace a magical place. Deirdre and all the people who participated in the organization of our stay were very kind and helpful. Thanks again for everything! See you soon Federica

  • What a great stay. Yoga in the morning, sightseeing in the day, sundowners in the Piazza, dinner to follow (repeated many times over). Lots of lakes within an hour for some proper swimming, or local pools. Within driving distance of Siena & Monte Cassino. Easy to get to from Rome. Overall just right. Host was impeccable. Stringozzi making lesson from Annamarie (as seen on BBC!! - we discovered that all on our own), was fantastic. Thank you so much.

  • A wonderful family in a beautiful and authentical place. A very nice house, in the middle of olive trees near a typical vilage, a 18 meters pool for refreshing. Lot of visits all around, without mass tourism. The center of Italy is worth the trip !

  • The house and pool are lovely, and the view to the Medieval town of Torri across the valley is truly amazing! Great little clean, well designed house, and the garden is turning into a real little oasis. Gorgeous runs/walks/views past vineyards and olive groves. Great place for a highly restorative week.

    Miriam2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Luigi and his wife Chiara have a wonderful spot in this beautiful, unspoiled region. Next to that, they are both very nice, helpful hosts! The house is basic but everything inside is new and everything we needed was there. Small note: the internet connection is rather slow and not very dependable (although 'unplugging' for a couple of days turned out to be a very good experience!) The terrace and swimming pool are a short walk from the house and are just superb: the pool is big and well maintained and the view is superb. Sabina is a small village, so for shopping you will need to travel a little further. The village has a good bakery, a bar for your morning coffee and a very nice little pizzeria. In all, a perfect spot for a laid-back holiday in the Sabina!

  • Lovely place, surrounded by greenery and kept with great care. Very comfortable bed, spacious and practical bathroom. Breakfast is not included but it is definitely worth trying, Beatrice has set us up on the veranda and served home-made jam and honey, bread and cake and fresh fruit! The small pool is definitely more welcome, my daughter had so much fun (and made friends with the lovely Lidia). There is everything you need to spend even long stays, it would have been nice to stay longer and we will definitely be back soon!

  • This AirBnB is perfect for you if you would like to spend some quiet days surrounded by beautiful vineyards. It is not very easy to reach the AirBnB, there are some small tiny roads to get there, but it is absolutely worth the drive. The room is quite large and clean and the view from the window and terrace is breathtaking. We only stayed there one night and spent almost all our time in the lovely garden outside. Also ask Beatrice for advices for dinner and lunch, there are some pretty nice places nearby. We would definitely go back :)

  • My husband and I have spent two nights with our dog in the beautiful shed that Chiara and her family have inside a plot where their family home is also located. The house has all kinds of details; the equipped kitchen, air conditioning, fan, a shower with very good pressure, television (although we have not used it) .. perfect to disconnect and spend good times in the pool from where you can enjoy spectacular views. In the immediate vicinity you can find good restaurants and very beautiful villages. Chiara and her family (and her little Pincher) have been very hospitable. We would definitely recommend it and will probably return. Thank you!
