  • Cosy Cabin is as described. A cosy little base for exploring North Wales on a really lovely site. Glan Gwna is the perfect family site with swimming pool, restaurant, shop and family activities such as karaoke on some evenings. The site staff are really friendly and the site itself has some beautiful features with a river running through. The cabin has everything you could need and despite a few hiccups with things being not left quite right by previous guests and a bit of an electricity problem, Rebecca went out of her way to sort things out for us. Would recommend the cabin to small families, plenty of room for 2 adults and 3 kids.

  • A cozy spot perfect for exploring north Wales. The chalet had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Very comfortable beds! The children’s dishware, toys and dvds were a welcome touch!

  • Fantastic place, surprisingly spacious (3 guys) host has been helpful, courteous and quick to respond. Couldn't have asked for a better place. Went to for a couple days, hiking up Snowdon, being a bit of a drive (about 10 miles out) but an absolutely lovely drive. Highly recommend both Snowdon and this lovely cabbin.

My place is close to the beach, Caernarfon Castle (a World Heritage site) and the town itself. Snowdonia mountain range, Bedgellet and forest and so much more. You’ll love my place because of the beautiful surroundings and ease of access to many places to suit all tastes. There is an on-site pool open from May (Whit Weekend) to September. The pool has a full time lifeguard. My place is good for couples, walkers, sailors, solo adventurers, business travellers, families and pets.
Owl's Rest is homely, peaceful and a really relaxing place to stay. This is one of the more spacious chalets on the site due to the careful thought that has gone into the open plan design. The decking are is substantial and is one of the closest to the water, this makes it feel as if you are floating above the lake which is wonderful when you are sitting on the decking. Another unusual feature is that the chalet gets the sun first thing in the morning and is there all day until late in the evening. The decking at Owl's Rest is a great sun trap. If and when it rains, Owl's Rest provides a cosy place to snuggle up, watch films and play the many board games or start a new book. There are also many indoor activities locally to explore.
This is a very friendly area and those around in our experience have always been willing to help. The reception will always point you in the right direction for the site or surrounding areas. It is open in normal business hours. The on-site shop are also very helpful and are open in low season in normal working hours but in high season very early until late at night.
  • Lovely little chalet in a fantastic spot overlooking a small lake. So peaceful and relaxing. Helen's chalet has everything you could need for a relaxed stay in this area. We even made use of the pool a couple if times even though the weather wasn't the warmest. Our daughter LOVED the pool area. The kids actually loved the whole site. They fed the ducks, went on little nature walks and loved star gazing on the balcony in the evenings. Lots to do in the local area, Greenwood Forest Park is 15 minutes away and a really great day out for families. The chalet itself is simple and freshly decorated. Gorgeous views over the pond/lake, not far from the pool and shop but far enough that you wouldn't know it was there unless you went looking. Would definitely return!

    Lorna2018-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay far exceeded expectations. Helen was friendly, tentative and quick to respond to any questions or enquiries we had leading up to, and throughout our stay. The chalet itself was clean, tidy, beautifully presented & situated on a perfect spot surrounded by nature. The site is conveniently located for local supermarkets & restaurants, as well as being in close proximity to some amazing nature trails, country parks and mountains. We entertained 3 children for a week, virtually for free in the outdoors! If you are looking for a perfect family get away, or love the outdoors this one is for you!

  • This ia our 2nd trip here. The chalet is lovely, very comfortable and sparkling clean. We cooked in the chalet all meals and it had all utensils etc that we needed. Stunning location, I am sure we will visit again

    Joeleen2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • I'll start with the good things because there are absolutely loads of good things. Helen was amazing and very helpful. her instructions to get to the home we're really detailed, check-in flawless, she texted on the first day to see if we needed anything. Overall i was very impressed by her. The home itself is adorable, small but just enough space for a holiday with a small family (it was my partner and I and our 16 month old son). everything was very clean and tidy and well arranged. the sofa and main bed we're comfortable. the view is gorgeous, right on the lake, big balcony so close to the lake we fed the ducks from the balcony! really great view. parking is directly outside so overall really happy. nice sized TV with freeview in the living room. the not so good part - smelt/felt a bit damp - Im allergic to cats, mould, and dust and something was setting off my allergy albeit mildly. the house was spotless don't get me wrong I did not see any cat hair, dust, or mould at all! but quite damp - so much so none of our towels dried even though the home was very warm. my shoes and socks and trousers got wet on a hike and didn't dry in the remaining 48 hours we had at the home. the second smaller room smells especially of damp. Helen was amazing and set up a crib and highchair for us so we didn't need to bring our own but the crib is a travel cot and the mattress (like with all standard travel cot mattresses) was extremely hard/bumpy and uncomfortable. we put in a few blankets to make it better - would probably recommend buying a proper mattress for it as they're only about £30. lastly the holiday park - where this home is fine and lovely and the view is spectacular but the park itself isn't amazing - lots of caravans on the lower end, lots are still vacant and just overall it isn't very nice looking. I wish that would've been specified as although Im happy to stay even in a caravan, but my partner hates caravan parks and this was a Father's day present so he was a little disappointed. I'm foreign so maybe "holiday homes" suggest that it is a caravan Park and I'm just not aware of that so apologies if that is the case. very easy to get to and so much amazing nature and castles around overall still amazing value and if I were with anyone else the caravan part wouldn't have mattered - still not sure I would recommend purely because of the dampness / damp smell.

    Isis2018-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • We’ve had a great little break. The chalet was amazing. Beautiful setting on the side of a little lake. Plenty of outdoor space for evening meals and quiet relaxation. Very closed to snowdon and Anglesey.

    Ringo2018-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • What we loved about Owl's Rest is it's name - inspired, although i did not hear any owls among the birds song :) We loved the balcony, being able to eat out, sit out and simply step out first thing to see the sun come up over the lake. Be aware that the switch for the immersion heater is not immediately obvious and the electricity meter involves some serious bending down, which is not so good if your knees are a bit dodgy - like mine! Getting to know Bill in the onsite cafe is a bonus. He is a mind of information about the site and the area in general. Enjoy!

    Jade2018-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully decorated space with lamps, pillows and plenty of heaters! Lots of thoughtful touches like basic cooking ingredients, board games, and candles. Plenty of cooking utensils, pots and pans. Very comfortable beds and bedding. Helen had great communication and directions on how to find the property. The only downside was the property is located in a holiday park, which wasn’t clear in the description. Although on looking back now, you can see other properties in the photos. Saying this, it is still a peaceful location with a nice view of the pond. I would definitely recommend staying here, although with 4 people only for a night or two.

    Amy2018-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the chalet was very clean with modern touches and overlooked the lake. The children enjoyed the amenities on site and it was close to other nearby attractions for days out. We would highly recommend the property for an enjoyable holiday in North Wales.

  • Great location near to Caernarfon and pretty spacious. Kids loved the bunk beds and breakfast bar, both of which we don't have at home. First night was pretty cold as the windows were left cracked open and no heating was on. The electric fan heaters were pretty noisy and needed to be on most of the time. Check out stated on the website as 11am but 10am stated in the cabin

We will aim to visit again for longer. It was ideal as a visit with a baby as he could have his own room and we didn't disturb him whilst watching television.

Great location, a perfect base from which to explore Snowdonia and North Wales , simple instructions to follow for access etc. Unfortunately we did not get to meet Mary/Ioan, however they were always quick to respond to any queries. My pet friendly holiday chalet is close to stunning coastline, the mountains of Snowdonia, places of historical interest and outstanding natural beauty. The chalet is situated in a quiet, small, family run holiday park 2 miles from the market town of Caernarfon, a World Heritage Site. There are many things to see and do in the area whatever the weather. The chalet is particularly well situated for those who enjoy the outdoors.
The chalet is well equipped for individuals, couples and families alike. It has 2 bedrooms and a living room with kitchen off and a bathroom. There is outside space for eating, BBQing. It is very easy to heat with electric heaters, and gets comfortably warm in the winter. However, please be aware that my accommodation is not a house, it is a chalet. Therefore, some considerations are worth drawing your attention to: -The rooms are small in comparison to a house, but bigger than a static caravan. - Heating is electric and not central so you have to turn heaters on and off. - The power supply to the chalet is not as strong as a house so the shower is not a power shower. Having said that, you won't 'run out' of electricity. -Hot water for the bath and taps is heated by an immersion heater, with a limited capacity, so you can't have several baths in a row. The shower heats on demand, however. There is no wifi in the chalet at present, but there is wifi in the poolside bar/cafe area onsite. There is freeview TV but no sky.
  • We stayed for 2 nights over the weekend and had a great time! The chalet is small, but very cosy and provides everything needed. Thanks to the instructions Rosie sent out in advance, we knew exactly what we needed to bring, how to get there etc. The communication couldn't have been better, Rosie always responded immediately and detailed... I can only recommend staying there.Thank you very much for everything, Rosie! We had a great time!

  • Nothing to complain, I recommend it.

    Claudio2018-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Just the ticket for a family or group break on a budget. Basically you're getting chalet space and facilities but with a "glamping" price tag. The beds were comfy and although the bedding and towels were a little old, they were clean and certainly useable. We enjoyed the clubhouse and pool onsite and everyone was so friendly. This is a great location and provides easy access to wherever you're wanting to visit in North Wales, Anglesey, Snowdonia and Llyn Peninsular. The only thing to make you aware of is that due to the electricity power supplied to the chalet, you can't use any other power other than lights when anyone has a shower! It's not a showstoppers but worth factoring in if there's a group of you.

  • This place is great. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do, the river running behind the house was absolutely delightful. No trouble for our whole stay.

  • Thanks for letting us have the accommodation over the weekend, was a lovely stay. We went oj a trekking trip to Snowdonia. Although the pipe under the sink was loose and leaking (have fixed it ourselves) and the showers were a little weak in the mornings. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

  • A great location for our visit to Snowdonia and Anglesey. Nicely equipped property with all the facilities our family of 5 needed for our visit. The site has a store, restaurant, bar, swimming pool and laundry facilities. (The bar only operates Thursday through Sunday during the period we were there). Easy access by car to the local sights and only a short drive to Caernarfon, Anglesey and Bangor. No hesitation in recommending this property as a base to explore the area.

Elevated detached 2 bedroom chalet only 6.5 miles from Snowdon. Set on a lovely quiet park in 120 acres of natural surrounds. Ideal for mountain treks, river walks, castle visits and outdoor adventures. 6.5 miles from Snowdon and Llanberis. 5 minute drive from Caernarfon and its lovely castle and bay. 15 minutes to Dinas beach. Near to Zip world and the forest roller coaster. 15 minutes to Bangor city and 40 minutes to the Dublin ferries at Holyhead.
Lovely large balcony. Wake up to the sound of the river. Have an adventure holiday. Climbing Snowdon, only 6.5 miles away ( or take the train in from March to October. Walk along the river. See and hear the birds and other wild life. Visit the Isle of Angelsey or even a day trip to Dublin and enjoy the craic. 5 minute drive to Caernarfon to see our gorgeous castle ( just wait until Wil's becomes our P rince of Wales there) and walled town. We loved the area so much that after our last holiday we sold our home in Kent and moved here. So you have a local host ready to help you plan your Welsh adventure if you require it. Also a big bonus is our chalet is situated on a small site where the animals are all real. No noisy tigers, elephants or bears to annoy you or make you dance. Only real adventures. Although in season the clubhouse is open. The cafe and shop open most of the year. Make real memories not dressed up ones.
Amazing. The views include mountains, rivers, sea and of course sheep. Snow if you are lucky. What's not to like.
  • Debi is a great host - quick replies and very knowledgeable about the local area. Location of this house is great - we were only 15 mins drive to Snowdon and also 15 mins to Llanberis

    Priyank2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Could not fault Debi’s hospitality! Really quick to respond and super helpful and accommodating :) thank you! The lodge was fine for a two night stay. Unfortunate that it was quite cold and had no towels, though we were able to buy some from the on site shop and there was an electric heater that we were able to warm up by! Decent location for exploring Snowdon and good value for the money we paid :) thanks again!

    Tara2018-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • The chalet is very nicely decorated. It’s perfect for anyone wanting a quiet place away or as a base for going out. You also have access to a heated pool / bar / cafe on site Debi was the perfect host, both before, during the stay and after after checkout too. She has excellent local knowledge and can offer suggestions where to go - we did the half-day mountain ride (at Snowdonia Riding School, only five minutes up to road) and can highly recommend that to both horse and non-horse people. You can not get a better, nicer place to stay than this and we can’t wait to go back, would give much more than five stars if I could. Thank you again Debi for having us.

  • Lovely cabin with all you need. Beds good and the balcony area is brilliant to relax on. Walkable into town.

  • Brilliant, quirky little cabin! Beautiful location! All amenities are on site and the host, Deb was brilliant with communication and personal touches!

    Stephan2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • For future travellers, you can expect a very helpful and friendly host! The property was well equipped and immaculately clean, I could not fault it!

    Nicola2018-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Debi’s place is a great location for exploring the mountains of Snowdonia. Caernarfon is only a few miles away with its lovely castle and good for shopping. The chalet was fairly well equipped and I had no problem making a nice roast lamb dinner for three. Also, the beds were very cosy. The internet was disappointing, and phone signal not great, so if this is important to you, then you may need to take trips into town to connect to the WiFi elsewhere. Debi is a fab host and very helpful with a very quick response time to any queries.

    Diane2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice location quiet and close enough to amenities by car, otherwise a 20minute walk. Nice little cozy place with a good size balcony for sitting in the sun playing music having a few beers. Plus is snowdonia is so close from the place which is what i wanted.

  • The chalet is in a fantastic location within Glan Gwna holiday park, at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, overlooking the lake with lovely big trees giving great shade when needed. The chalet was spotless on arrival and had all the amenities for a great stay. Thank you Tina for the wine, milk and plentiful supply of coffee and tea. We enjoyed BBQ’s relaxing on the deck. The kids loved the swimming pool on site and we had some great walks and bike rides from the site (the Lon Eifion cycle track is within easy reach). Llanberis is a short distance for paddle boarding / kayaking. Greenwood Park is also a short drive for a great day out with the kids. We can heartily recommend Ainsworths in Caernarfon for the best fish and chips! Thank you Tina for a great stay. We’re looking forward to returning very soon.

SNOWDONIA Snowdonia was awarded National Park status in 1951, and is the second largest National Park in England and Wales, most recently it has also become a designated Dark Skies Reserve. Close to Zip World at Bethesda which is approx 20 minutes by car. Snowdonia includes some of the most beautiful – and spectacular – scenery in the UK. From rolling foothills, forests and lakes to dramatic mountain tops, including Snowdon – the highest point in England and Wales. Snowdonia is a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts, with countless opportunities for biking (road and trail), walking, scrambling, climbing and paddle sports. Snowdonia is also widely accepted as the adventure capital of the UK, for more information about activities and attractions please see this page [link]. The area also offers endless opportunity for less energetic pursuits including more gentle walks, angling, golf, bird watching, wildlife, world-famous steam railways, National Trust properties and numerous World Heritage Sites including several castles. LLYN PENINSULAR The Llyn Pensinsula is a renowned tourist destination, with hotspots such as Abersoch and Aberdaron. In the summer people flock to the Llyn for its combination of easy access, good weather and miles upon miles of golden sandy beaches. The Llyn Peninsula offers endless potential for watersports, there is a large and modern marina at Pwllheli, world-class surfing at Hell’s Mouth and numerous fantastic beaches for swimming, sunbathing, sailing, paddle sports and fishing. But the Llyn Peninsula isn’t all about the sea, there are excellent golf courses, and it is a beautiful part of the world to explore by car, bike or on foot; with hidden coves, quaint villages and picturesque harbours. ANGLESEY Anglesey, also known as the Mother of Wales, is linked to the mainland by two road bridges, and is easily reached from Glan Gwna. With golden sandy beaches at Newborough, Llandwyn Island and Maltraeth (amongst others) the island is a wonderful venue for family days out. The more rugged Northern coastline boats the imposing South Stack lighthouse. Towns on the island include Menai Bridge and Beaumaris, with plenty of opportunities for fishing, exploring, culture, sight-seeing and day trips, including boat trips on the Menai Strait and to nearby Puffin Island. Anglesey also boats a fantastic coastal footpath, 125 miles in length, which is possible to walk in sections. Over 95% of the path is within a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. TOWNS & VILLAGES Glan Gwna is just 2 miles from the Royal town of Caernarfon, with its world-famous Castle dating from the reign of King Edward I , and the site of the investiture of Prince Charles in 1969. Caernarfon also boasts the Royal Caernarfon Golf Course, a harbour, shops, restaurants and the newly refurbished Doc Victoria complex and theatre. The Welsh Highland Railway starts from Caernarfon and there are excellent cycle trails in the area. Nearby are the Snowdonia villages of Llanberis (at the foot of Snowdon, and site of two steam railways including the Snowdon Mountain Railway) as well popular tourist destinations such as Porthmadog (again with a world-famous steam railway – the Ffestiniog Railway), Betws-y-Coed and Beddgelert. Slightly further afield on the Llyn Peninsula are Abersoch, Aberdaron and Pwllheli, again all major tourism venues. Some comments from our visitor's Book; A very clean, well-appointed lodge in a wonderful position overlooking the lake. Fabulous views from the living room. In an excellent location from which to explore the surrounding area. Plenty to do and see for all ages within a 20 mile radius. Mr & Mrs T. Derby My favourite place in the lodge was the bunk bed. It was my special place. I really liked the swimming pool too. Ellie (aged 6.)

  • We had a fabulous stay here, perfect location for climbing snowdon and exploring the area. Everything had been considered here, all the touches to make you feel at home. It’s great being on a park to enjoy the amenities like the pool, restaurant and bar. The views from the lodge were beautiful and we left feeling thoroughly relaxed. The hosts gave us all the information we needed beforehand and also offered really useful advice on the area. I would wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation to families and couples alike, we will certainly be returning.

  • We really loved our stay at the Sundowner, it's a lovely house in a very nice location. The house is very comfortable, has everything you need in the kitchen and has lots of books and games for entertainment. Our daughter really liked the Movie and Music quiz games, they were a big hit during the holiday. We spent lots of time on the patio as the weather was fabulous during our stay. The patio gets the sun from the morning onwards so we could have our breakfast outside in the sunshine, and enjoyed nice long evenings watching the sun go down and listening to the owls coming out to hunt. The park is lovely and the poolside bar is nice for a drink. We only ate there once and the food is pretty good. The location is perfect, about 5 mins drive from Caernarfon and 20 mins to Llanberis so it's close to lots of great walking routes and different activities. Caernarfon is a lovely town, we visited there a few times and the castle is well worth a tour. Thanks to Janet and Jack for the brilliant communication, really fast response, received all the information we needed and everything was very clear. It's a real gem of a place and we will definitely be back again!

  • Excellent communication, great hosts, nice b&b and the best wake up to the view of the lake! Only 10/15 minutes drive to all amenities needed and so close to Snowdon. Recommended for an excellently located, nice, affordable apartment in a quiet place.

There is everything you need to have a quiet weekend away or extended stay. There is space to sleep up to 6 guests, with a master double bed, set of bunk beds and fold out sofa bed.
There is a lake located on site which is a lovely walk. There is also a river walk that takes you right through the site.

  • We have mix of feedback on this property. Let me start with the good things - The host Howard is really communicative. Had clarified all our queries before our journey in fact until the previous day of arrival. The property is very big – big rooms, big bed with firm mattress, really spacious for children to play inside. River is just next to the property that gives a nice beauty. Kids really loved it. Worth for money as cheaper compared to close by property. May not be bad, but good to mention about this – the property looks pretty old may need little refurbishment. The Front yard space is quite spacious to sit and enjoy a coffee, but it was not clean and untidied when we arrived (may be due to rain and wind). Anyway, we did not get a chance to sit outside due to rain. Shower was not working as expected and has some conditions to use it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend others for visit mainly during summer.

  • Excellent view from the property if you are looking for a nice relaxed beautiful stay go no further. However only thing to make sure is get your soaps and tea and coffee sugar as you may have to walk to the site shop to buy these.

  • Good place and the sound of river flowing in the morning is priceless. The park is good location for Caernarfon and snowden peak. Only thing to improve is could do with more cleaning and new set of bed linen. Overall good place and would recommend.

  • What a lovely location. Thanks to an excellent description from our hosts, we found the site without any issues and were surprised to find how conveniently it was located for getting to a few local sites, including just a half-hour drive from Tryfan - a 'must' for any keen hikers and climbers. The chalet itself has a nice open and inviting feel, perfect to enjoy your breakfast out on the decking, and allow a fresh breeze through thoughout during hot summer months. There are plenty of pots, pans and other equipment with shops accessible by car for those who wish to cook (although there are also other options on site). Communications were quick and very inviting. Definitely a great holiday for our group of 6 guests.

  • Have just spent 2 nights at Helen's chalet. All was accurate to description and enjoyed chats with Helen by e-mail prior to our trip. The weather was horrendous but we were warm and cosy and had everything we needed in a fantastic location. The fireworks on Saturday were an enjoyable bonus and everyone we met at the park was very friendly. We would definitely return.

  • A well-equipped dog-friendly base in which to stay and explore North Wales. Lots of amenities to keep children, families, couples and four-legged friends occupied. The lodge is set in a super location with walks on site - you may be lucky enough to see the herons on the lake and explore the site further to discover the surrounding river and catch sight of a kingfisher! The location is key to this property. Just don't forget your bedding.

    Catherine Jane2018-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location. Idyllic views over the fishing lake where the ducks visited every morning with their ducklings. A beautiful Heron also visited every morning and in the evening you can sit out on the decking and listen to the owls as the pipistrelle bats mill around, basically if you love nature and outdoors then this is a great spot! If you want an outdoor heated pool, a bar with entertainment and pool tables, and a pizzeria then Glan Gwna also offers great facilities for this. The site is dog friendly and boasts a beautiful riverside walk. The lodge is well located for access to Caernarfon, additionally, Anglesy, Abersoch and Snowdonia are within ~30 mins drive. Helen an Malcolm were great with communication before and during our trip. We would recommend a visit to Glan Gwna 84.

    Annie2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Helen's place is a sweet coach home for a vacation. It's in a nice park and the surrounding is just peaceful. It's very close to everything from the castle to the town centre. We enjoyed the stay and two things that would make this perfect would be fans and towels. We had to open the French door in order to let the air flow better in the house but also let the bugs fly in. And the house didn't come with any towels and for foreign visitors, that would be a bit inconvenient.

    Karmen2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
