“So it may sound a little odd that one of our top tips is a local cemetery but just hold on a second... Arnos Vale is a absolutely beautiful Victorian Garden cemetery just over the road from Paintworks. It’s an idillic park/woodland retreat in the heart of a bustling city and really a must see whilst you’re staying with us. The cemetery received a £5 million Heritage Lottery grant recently and is now a wonderful community space, perfect for a weekend walk or reading the papers on their terrace with a latte and a slice of cake (yes, it has its very own cafe bar). Open 10-4pm every day. ”
“Restaurant, Bar, Cafe, Riverside venue. Nestled alongside the River Avon on the far side. You access the bar by hailing the motorboat ferry across the river. You can take a lovely stroll or bike ride along the river avon from Netham Lock to the crossing point. There are further walks on the far side of the river. Ferry tours from the city centre also stop here. Live Music on Fridays. Only Open Easter to September.”
“there is a good view of Bristol beside the tower at the top of the hill, and you can walk down to the River Avon, or wander through the nature reserve”
