  • What a fabulous cottage and an amazing weekend away for my wife's 40th birthday. The fireplace and pizza oven were big hits with all the family. Hosts were very helpful and rushed round to help us out when we got stuck making pizza dough 😁 Highly recommended place to stay, would love to go back in the summer

  • Nice old cottage in the middle of the Suffolk countryside

    Howard2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning cottage with amazing period features in a lovely peaceful location. The pizza oven is such a fun touch. Would recommend the King's Arms in the village too - such a friendly pub. And the local town of Lavenham is beautiful. (Both in Sammy's recommendations.) It was a perfect spot for a weekend away. Thanks so much!

  • A great fun place to stay. From the outside the property belies it’s age, step inside and it’s historic character becomes apparent. Lovely quiet location, easy to find food and drink supplies nearby. Everything you need for cooking provided. Will happily return.

  • A wonderful quirky cottage, in peaceful surroundings. We had a wonderful long weekend. Didn’t want to leave.

    Deborah2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is absolutely amazing. Myself and my family came for a long weekend winter break and had the most perfect time. The cottage is really old and full of charm. Not sure we would get pizza of the year award but we gave it our best shot and Sammy kindly supplies all ingredients needed, just bring toppings of your choice. Sammy was very quick to respond and was keen to help when we needed her. The kids absolutely loved their bedroom and so did we. We had some great days out and ate in the Kings Head. Nigel the landlord was most helpful when we left a scarf behind. I can’t recommend the square house enough. Thanks Sammy for indeed being a “super host”

    Samantha2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying here, its a beautiful cottage, everything you need is there, great location for country walks, and the pizza oven was a great bonus

  • Lovely cosy cottage with some quirky little touches to make the stay a memorable one. Dogs settled well and the garden was very enclosed so prevented our stressy rescue dog from barking at anyone passing. Very good use of space and always at hand to help out if required with advice ans guidance

A calm and airy cottage, where everything has been chosen with practicality, comfort and beauty in mind.
September Cottage is a light, airy and calm cottage located in the heart of Bildeston, not far from the Market Place. A semi-detached corner cottage on a very quiet residential road. Before you read on about the cottage and the village...a few words about the current coronavirus situation and how I am dealing with it at the cottage. Cleaning: I clean the cottage myself and I’m always very particular about it. I am cleaning and then I will disinfect, paying special attention to doorknobs, light switches, remote controls etc.. As the cottage has no dishwasher, between reservations, I will now remove all glassware, crockery etc and run it, at the hottest setting, through my dishwasher. Sheets and towels will be washed at 90 degrees. I have added antibacterial wipes and spray in addition to the usual stock of washing up liquid, general cleaning spray, hand soap etc. that you will find in the kitchen/bathroom. I am wearing rubber gloves when cleaning and disinfecting and I am using a hand sanitiser before making beds and handling laundry. As it now takes me a bit longer to get the cottage ready I have very slightly altered check-in and check-out times. However, this extra time is only needed when I have a departure and arrival on the same day. Please check with me, when I can I am always happy to accommodate other arrival/departure times. Breakfast: instead of delivering a tray to the porch each morning, I will stock up the cottage fridge with breakfast items that are all still in their original packaging. So it won’t look as pretty as the usual breakfasts where I present everything in lovely jars and containers. Part of the breakfasts are fresh pastries. These I buy in frozen from our local shop and then bake them off, from frozen, each morning, I am still happy to do this (and they ARE delicious) if you so wish. As long as Woosters, the artisan Suffolk bakery, still sells at the weekly market, guests arriving on a Friday will find one of their sourdough loafs on arrival (in a brown paper bag, if you prefer a sealed loaf, please let me know). I will be doing my upmost to give you the full September Cottage experience during these uncertain times. About the cottage: The cottage is entered via a porch with a stable door, there is a small washing machine in here (drying line in the garden), peg rail, wellie rack, shoe horn and shopping basket with a small umbrella. A second door leads directly into the kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped: there is an oven and cooker, a fridge (no freezer compartment, please ask us if you need ice cubes), a butlers sink and a Nespresso machine (please bring your own favourite Nespresso capsules). Electric kettle and toaster. The kitchen cupboard is stocked with Cafetière coffee, Suffolk tea bags, hot chocolate, herbal tea, sugar, Suffolk cooking oil and vinegar, pepper and salt. A small table in the corner of the kitchen is perfect for morning coffee. Breakfast: continental breakfast is included; jam/marmalade, farmhouse bread, cereals, milk, butter and eggs will be in the kitchen and we will pop a breakfast box into the porch each morning with fruit, yoghurt and pastries. The downstairs of the cottage is open plan, beams separate the kitchen from the sitting room, as well as a chimney breast with a double sided wood burner (the first basket of wood, kindling and fire lighters is included between October and April). There is a sofa, armchairs, coffee tables and a hidden television (no life TV but Netflix and Amazon Prime are available and operated by Alexa) as well as a speaker for radio and music (Alexa again). A larger dining table with four chairs sits in the bay window and the old cupboard is filled with books and leaflets on the local area as well as a few board games. There is also small writing desk with a stool and USB plug. Open steps lead from the kitchen to the upstairs bedrooms and bathroom. Please note that there are handrails on the wall side only but no bannisters. The bedrooms have been kept simple with queen seized beds, bedside tables, reading lamps and radios. The beds are made up with feather duvets and crisp cotton sheets. The slightly larger bedroom has a wall to wall built in wardrobe, the smaller bedroom has a chest of drawers and a peg rail. The simple bathroom has a sink, toilet and a shower cubicle. Large bath sheets, hand towels, hand soap, shower gel and shampoo are provided. Small and medium seized dogs are very welcome 🐾. Dog treats, water bowl and dog towels are in the porch. Outside space: The front door is accessed via a shared drive. A few steps across the drive is a small, private patio garden with table and chairs and a lockable shed (should you bring bikes). Easy parking on the road just outside the cottage. The very well stocked village store and 3 pubs are only a couple of minutes walk away.
Bildeston is surrounded by fields and pretty Suffolk villages. There are lovely country walks right on the door step. The largest nearest town is Hadleigh, the nearest railway station is Stowmarket.

  • Nicola puts the super in superhost. Fresh breakie every morning, one of the best loaves of bread I've ever eaten and an immaculate home which is perfect for R + R. Our best AirBnB experience to date.

    William2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best airbnb experiences I’ve had. The cottage is charming, stylish and cosy we could hardly drag ourselves away to go on a walk around the village. Would recommend to anyone looking to get away for a relaxing few days.

    Ellie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a weekend in the September cottage with my family. It was my first airbnb experience. I am sure it will not be the last but I am pretty sure it will be one of the best if not the best. The cottage is beautiful and cozy., but it is the small touches by Nicola that makes the real difference. Nicola was always very responsive and came up with recommendations. The woodburner was like a dream. The cottage is very well located, two-minute walk from a very efficient shop. There are great footpaths around and board games along with Alexa and netflix/amazon prime at home. Our only problem was that two days did not suffice

    Yarkin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A very relaxing, comfortable yet modern cottage. Lots of thoughtful touches made us all feel very welcome.

    Vicky2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and cosy cottage with thoughtful additional touches. Lovely host.

    Ellie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We have just returned from a wonderful stay in September cottage. Everything was fantastic. Nicola has clearly worked hard to make the cottage warm and homely, and her hospitality was the best we’ve ever experienced. The breakfast was a highlight, delicious and so thoughtfully put together. It even included a little treat for our dog. As others have said there are so many little touches, such as fresh water for us and our dog, lots of books to read, fire already set and fresh eggs milk and bread laid out on our arrival. The fire was so cosy and we ended up spending most of our time in the cottage as it was so hard to leave! The kitchen is very well stocked and we easily cooked a meal here on one of the nights. If you want to venture out, there are lovely country walks right from the doorstep, and the Kings Head pub was very welcoming to two blow ins from the city. Food was good and plentiful. If you’re looking for a relaxing break away from it all then we highly recommend September cottage.

  • Great space, bigger than I expected with plenty of room for 4 to relax. Kitchen compact but has everything you’d need inc a full sized oven and good range of pots. Useful basket of essentials like milk and coffee was left for us plus a few treats and home grown tomatoes from next door. Thank you! Outside space was lovely for breakfast in the sun and there’s even a grassed area with games for sunny days. Parking for 1 car convenient- right next to the barn.

  • Nice place located behind the well-stocked village grocery store. Hosts are great. Very accessible and friendly. Away from the main road that runs through the village, and therefore good for our two-year old to run around. The village is quiet, with a friendly pub that has its own beer and a child-friendly beer garden and that provides dinner a few nights a week. Surroundings are beautiful, with lots of walking options on public footpaths.

    Frank2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts are very friendly! The barn is a nice and cozy place to stay for some days. Well equipped kitchen (milk in the frigde on arrival, also coffee, tea, spices...), shampoo etc. in the bathroom and enough place to store all clothes in the cupboards. We didn´t use most of the things provided, as we were out for sightseeing the whole day. But looks like everything you need for a vacation stay is there, even books and videos for a rainy day. We enjoyed very much having a good breakfast on the terrace with fresh baked croissants from the shop. You get very good value for your money! Just don´t come with a big van, access to the barn is quite narrow.

  • Helen’s barn house was the perfect getaway home to explore the Suffolk region. It has everything you would need. We will definitely be back.

  • Bank House Barn is a great place to stay. Very quiet, peaceful location. Lovely garden - great for kids. The living space was good, with a huge, comfy sofa. The kitchen was small, but had everything you needed for a wonderful stay. The bedrooms and bathroom were great.

  • Helen’s gorgeous place is in a superb location for magnificent day trips or for just hanging out more locally at stunning Laverton or walks along the river between Dedham and Flatford. Each village and town in the local area is gorgeous and the accomodation is not only spacious, clean and very comfortable but also ideally located for lots of adventures. Don’t miss the church in Bildeston and the croissants at Helens store are super! We highly recommend the property. John and Basia

  • Sue and Mark are fantastic hosts and went out of their way to make us feel at home. They gave us a warm welcome and showed us around and gave us tips on the local area including a great local pub, the 6 Bells, for dinner. The barn is gorgeous and spacious and the views are incredible. I’d thoroughly recommend Sue & Mark’s place to other guests.

  • This is a truly stunning little space if you are looking for a countryside retreat away from the city. It has everything you need if you want to stay in, self cater and chill, from a full kitchen to amazon prime and Netflix. However if you love a walk and a country pub with character and a fire then you are spoilt on this front too. Will 100% be back

    Steve2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the barn was the perfect location for a family Christmas getaway. The barn itself was clean and beautifully decorated and we were so touched by the Christmas decorations and a little Christmas tree which made our stay extra special and made us feel at home. Upon arrival we found a jar of honey from their own bees and a postcard which made us feel welcome. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a Christmas dinner and there were even board games in the cupboard for us to play afterwards. We also appreciated the binoculars which we used to have a closer look at all the wildlife just outside our window. We were thrilled to spot pheasants, muntjac deer, hares and even an owl during our stay. The barn is a perfect place to relax and slow down for a few days.

    Driton2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect bolthole for a weekend relaxing, just what was needed. Loved seeing all the wildlife from the sofa too. Close to lots of nice cosy pubs. Sue and Mark are absolutely lovely and leave you to it once they have made sure you are comfortable - they even lent us wellies following the onslaught of rain in the previous few days! Thank you :)

    Helen2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • A peaceful and beautiful place to stay if you want to escape the city. Spacious, clean and homely, the barn is really a home away from home. Sue and Mark are excellent hosts who made us feel very welcome.

  • Communication was great before and during our stay. Wendy’s place is exactly as described. It’s clean, spacious and has everything that you would need. The location was perfect for us and there is plenty to do around the area.

    Nilpa2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Property is lovely, spacious and clean. The kitchen and conservatory area are definitely the highlights. A lovely garden for relaxing in, which gets good sun. The kitchen is really well stocked with utensils, pans and some condiments/spices/seasonings. The area itself is quiet at night, but can be a bit noisy in the morning/during the day depending on the neighbours (during our stay next door neighbour was working on a motorbike then revving it up and down the street). The house is in a quiet street located on edge of town, 10mins drive to Hadleigh, easy to get in and out from. Street is dark at night so watch your footing when getting home, remember to leave the light on! Great value property and I'd definitely stay there again if I ever went down that way.

    Kas2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • The house was clean, modern, spacious and comfortable with everything we needed thoughtfully provided. The weather was beautiful during our stay so we could take advantage of the outside area. There is parking right outside the door and the village centre is not far away. A lovely property, thank you Anna and Wendy.

    Elizabeth2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely well-equipped modern house in a gorgeous village. The local shop, restaurant and pub are only a 2 minute walk away. We stayed over for a wedding and could not have asked for a better space. The hosts were always quick to respond and super helpful as we were dithering about adding on a day each side (very glad we did). Our toddler loved the garden with mini climbing frame and scooter. We didn’t get to use the gas barbecue on this occasion. Good driveway parking. The surrounding countryside is beautiful. You can take long hikes from your doorstep. The shower is really powerful too, which is always a plus.

My home is a medieval guildhall, recently refurbished, it is comfortable and furnished to a high standard with all modern facilities . The garden is a beautiful space to enjoy. Drive to towns and villages such as the historic Lavenham and the market towns of Sudbury and Hadleigh and Bury St. Edmunds The rate listed of £45 is per person per night.
This is a lovely Suffolk village with many old and interresting houses , and a well attended church stands on the village green. There are lots of beautiful walks and our village shop is successfully run by volunteers. Corncraft is just a short walk down the main road and mustn't be missed, here you'll find a group of artisan businesses, a place that sells plants, Sarah's Attic ( bygones and treasures) a wonderful gift shop selling an enormous range of cards, and there is also an Art and Crafts studio. Also a cafe which serves really good food, from breakfast to afternoon tea. Corncraft has been in business by the same family for many years, well worth a visit.
  • We had a wonderful stay at Vicki’s house, where we were welcomed so warmly into Vicki’s beautiful home. Check in time was at our convenience and we had lovely cake and tea awaiting us on arrival. The space is so homely, Vicki made us feel at home straight away including our unruly two year old son! The bedrooms are lovely, the shower room also spotless and amazing shower. Thank you Vicki for all of your help and kindness to us, we would not hesitate to recommend you for all future guests.

  • A gorgeous place with a thoughtful host- I loved the drawer with 'things you've forgotten' provided in it! Lovely breakfast which was eaten overlooking the colourful garden. We would recommend without hesitation.

  • Vicki is the perfect host! My stay exceeded all my expectations. To say her garden is beautiful is an understatement!

  • Vicki was the perfect host, from the tea and cake on arrival to the helpful advice, kids TV and the great breakfast in her sunny conservatory. The house is lovely and the garden is joy. We stayed for one night with our young children (4 and 6) for a family party in the area, and Vicki was so helpful. The kids loved Vicki's dogs and exploring the garden. We all had a great nights sleep and would thoroughly recommend 'The Little Guildhall.'

    Suzy2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Just returned from one night at Jackie's accommodation. I booked it only a few days ago. We just wanted to get away and do some walking and visit local pubs. We got exactly what we planned. The area is quite rural and you have to drive or walk (min 2.5 miles) to get to the nearest pub/town but it suited us. The circular walk from Semer to Hadleigh is one I would recommend, Stopping in Kersey on the way back for a glass of wine in the Bell Inn. Perfect. Jackie's accommodation is wonderful. It is small, but you have everything you need. I loved the touch of giving us fresh eggs from her chickens, which lived just opposite us. Jackie gave us our own privacy too which was very thoughtful of her. We will return without a doubt. I would highly recommend this accommodation for lots of reasons.

The loft has everything you need for a few days’ stay : fruit trees and chickens in the garden, comfy bed , eggs , butter and bread, flowers on the dinner table. What else you need in the beautiful Suffolk country side? :) Jackie replied to our change of plan really quick and self checkin is super smooth. Thank you Jackie

The Cart Lodge at The Old Rectory, Kettlebaston is just 3 miles from Lavenham. The property is at the end of a lane, set in beautiful gardens. There are lots of walks including 20 mins to the nearest pub and an hour to Lavenham. The Cart Lodge is a snug hideaway for couples and/or individuals seeking a secluded getaway or business travellers needing peace and quiet at the end of the day. Coffee/tea/fresh milk/locally baked bread and home-made jams are provided for the first morning.
Although less than 10 yards from the house, The Cart Lodge is down a slope and behind a yew hedge so totally hidden from the main house. It has its own private terrace which catches the morning and evening sun
The Old Rectory Kettlebaston is situated at the end of a half mile lane overlooking a valley in the heart of the Suffolk countryside. There are wonderful walks from the house, including a 20 minute walk across the fields to the nearest pub. However, the house is only 3.5 miles from the medieval wool town of Lavenham. As well as the villages of Long Melford, Cavendish and Clare and the market town of Bury St Edmunds, there are the National Trust Properties of Ickworth House and Flatford Mill within Constable Country just half an hour away. we are more than happy to tell our guests about our favourite, less known, places to visit
  • 100% recommend the holiday if you fancy a little getaway, the place was spotless!

  • Fantastic place! Maggie and family were great at communicating and at giving local tips for the beautiful surrounding area. The space itself is cosy and clean and cooking facilities were a bonus. Highly recommend the delicious (and reasonably priced) breakfast with lots of locally sourced produce.

  • This accommodation is a great size for 2 for a short stay. We found a few supermarkets nearby to cater for our dinners on the kitchen which was more than adequate. It is in a great location, in the gardens, with morning call from the cockerel and a warm welcome from the small dog, a lovely environment and friendly hosts. It’s in a quiet spot, lovely in winter and I imagine in the warmer months too. A lovely warm building, great for cozy evenings.

    Jennifer2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • What can we say that hasn’t been said so many times by other visitors! If you’re looking for somewhere cosy and warm, tucked away in beautiful countryside with walks from the doorstep, then this is just perfect. Whilst you’re in the grounds of Maggie’s house, you’re tucked away with your own private garden. Maggie couldn’t be a better host - speedy and helpful correspondence whilst booking, really friendly when we arrived and more than happy to give us total privacy during our stay - but equally happy to help out with anything if needed. For those who want it, WiFi was reliable for streaming a film on the Netflix TV. The combi microwave oven worked really well. The fridge with spacious freezer compartment was ample for a week’s meals if you want to take your own food/meals. We can’t praise Maggie or the cottage highly enough.

    Nicholas2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is tucked away on the grounds of Maggie’s gorgeous B&B, surrounded by some fantastic walks. It was lovely and warm despite the winter weather, and Maggie is a great host. We’ll definitely be back!

    Ellie2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in a lovely location. Maggie had loads of local recommendations and we had a lovely time in nearby Lavenham - unfortunately the weather was not good but this didn't stop is enjoying our stay! Would recommend and would love to stay here again - hopefully with better weather next time!

Kettles Farm Glamping Pods sit in 10 acres of grassland overlooking a fishing lake in a tranquil location on the outskirts of Rattlesden village. This is a great base for walking, cycling and driving to many places of interest to suit all. Or for just sitting back, relaxing and enjoying the countryside, with all the grassland space it is perfect for children ( and adults) to run about and have fun. All you need to bring is food, drinks, charcoal and personal wash stuff.
Our small pod Wren has a double sofa bed, it does not have a toilet, however it is very close to the spacious toilet and shower block. It has all bedding, cutlery, crockery, kettle, toaster, microwave, hot and cold running water, heating, electricity, fridge freezer, BBQ, tables and chairs inside and out. Plenty of grassland space, well stocked coarse fishery, fire pits available, we provide a starter kit, you can bring your own logs or you may purchase some from us.
Rattlesden village is 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive. There is a shop and 2 dog and child friendly pubs one of which does food from Wednesday to Sunday
  • We had such a lovely time at Kettles Farm Glamping, the accommodation was great, beautiful views and it had everything needed for our stay. You're welcome to come and stay in our family home slap bang in the middle of rural Suffolk. Big skies, a warm family welcome, and take us as we come. We have 3 rooms, one en-suite the other two with shared bathroom. Homely kitchen and a hearty welcome awaits.
We are happy to share our home with like-minded, adventurous people who want something different. The house is large, and unusual, in 1.5 acres of grounds in the heart of rural Suffolk on the River Brett in the village of Monks Eleigh. Notwithstanding that the airbnb system only allows us to show one bedroom there are in fact three available and we can comfortably accommodate six people (for example, three lots of two). The other bedrooms are listed in separate airbnb listings. The price listed is for bed and breakfast in the double bedroom with shared family bathroom. If you would like additional meals these can be provided at an extra charge, as can a picnic if you want to go out for the day. We keep 4 - 6 free range chickens in the garden, so no pets please.
Being in rural Suffolk, you will be out in the countryside a short walk from the centre of the village of Monks Eleigh. There is a local community shop and post office and a gourmet pub called "The Swan". A little further away is the village of Chelsworth, where there is a typical English rural pub called "The Peacock", which sells traditional British real ale, and it has an excellent food menu. Three miles up the road is the medieval village of Lavenham, which has over 300 listed buildings. It was used to film a few of the final scenes at Godrick's Hollow in the last Harry Potter movie. There are some good walks nearby, easy ones for a stroll and some for which you will need your walking boots, particularly if the weather is inclement. One of the nice things about the location is that there is hardly any light pollution and on a clear night you get a fabulous view of the night sky.

The farmhouse is a grade II listed building dating back to the 16th century. It has recently been renovated to restore this magnificent house to its original rustic origins. There is a well kept garden and outside space including a tennis court. The nearby pub serves excellent food and has a well stocked bar. The town of Stowmarket is 2.5 miles away, it has main line trains to London and Norwich, and has a good selection of shops plus the museum of East Anglian life.
This farmhouse has been described as having the wow factor by everyone who has viewed it. It is set in beautiful agricultural countryside and is in the heart of Suffolk which makes for easy access to the coast, towns, forests and heathlands. Whether you want to go out and explore and be active or to stay put and enjoy the garden facilities, including the hot tub, and just relax, then this house is for you. There is a stairlift to the upstairs and a wet room on the ground floor for those who may have limited mobility. A wheelchair can be available on request. A travel cot, high chair, stair gate and bedside guard can be provided on request for young guests.
The Punch Bowl pub in Battisford offers village hospitality and a good menu with some locally sourced food. The Mid-Suffolk area has many and varied restaurants to cater for all tastes. There are brochures and leaflets in the house advising on local facilities. Stowmarket leisure centre has a large swimming pool, squash courts and gym facilities. There is a soft play area for the youngsters. The Museum of East Anglian Life on the Abbots Hall estate is worth a visit if you like to know about the history of the area you are staying in. The Regal cinema has current films showing and the John Peel Centre has live music, plays and exhibitions.
  • What an amazing stay in a wonderful idyllic cottage. Des was a brilliant host with very quick responses and was only next door for our stay should we have had any issues. We stayed over New Year as a group of 6 friends and the cottage was the perfect size. Took a day trip to Southwold and a short walk to the local pub down the country lanes which was very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend staying and thanks Des for your hospitality!

  • We stayed here for Christmas (3 couples). The house was spotlessly clean and incredibly well provisioned - we had everything we needed to make Christmas dinner for a large group. It’s a truly wonderful place to stay. The house is a beautiful property with lots of character, enjoying an enormous and immaculately manicured garden. The hot tub is also a real treat. The surrounding areas are some of the finest Suffolk countryside, perfect for walks of all lengths. Des was an incredibly attentive, helpful and friendly host. Our entire group would highly recommend staying here, we’ll definitely be back.

  • Fantastic place

  • Wonderful, historic, farmhouse in a picturesque part of Suffolk. Great facilities and Desiree was an amazing host.

  • This was an amazing find I booked because we were going to see Ed Sheeran in Ipswich, pictures can’t portray what a fabulous house and gardens this is. We had a fantastic weekend and choose to spend time back at the house instead of too many day trips. There is so much space for everyone and the facilities are 5star right down to the super fluffy towels and Egyptian cotton sheets it’s perfect for a large family get together. Desiree is the perfect host with lots of local tips she lives next door but didn’t invade our privacy in any way but was there if we needed her. There are lots of places worth a visit near by depending on what you want and a perfect little 5k run from the doorstep.

    Elaine2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Desiree's place is highly recommended as it ticks all the right boxes if you are traveling to suffolk with a large group including kids.. we were 9 of us with kids ranging from ages 1 -13. All of us had a great time! The kitchen amenities and utensils were abundant and pretty ..the bedrooms ample and comfortable..everything clean and cozy... a robust garden and of course the kids toy room --full of lego , dolls, a beautiful doll house, board games , books and movies - it was so popular, the children didn't want to leave! If you are looking for a great family time.. long walks ... tennis games in the garden.. kids running about and a few occasional visitors- squirrels , rabbits , pheasants ( i thought i saw a deer, but not sure) ... .. this is the perfect place. Would love to go there again!

    Alpana2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our family holiday with friends in Desiree’s house. The photographs don’t do justice to the lovely house, and the garden is wonderful with plenty of space for relaxing and playing. The hot tub was used every day! Desiree was very helpful and close by in case we had any questions.

    Sarah2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful visit to the cottage. Desiree is a great host... good communication, extremely helpful and friendly. The cottage was lovely - beautiful original features, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. It has everything you would need - including amazingly fluffy towels! The garden is huge and beautiful - we made good use of the hot tub and tennis court. My son was in heaven with all the space to play football! The location is very peaceful - but you are not too far away from supermarkets etc and easy to get to the coast/surrounding towns. I would absolutely stay again. Thank you Desiree x

This original 1940s Showman’s Wagon has been lovingly restored to it’s former glory. It has a cast iron cooking stove inside, which is for authentic decorative purposes only, not to be used for cooking! Electric points have been added and solar panels for lighting. Essentially, this is for those who enjoy outdoor living with a bit of luxury thrown in.
Inside the wagon there is a curtained area for the main bedroom with a double/twin beds. The kitchen area has a dresser with all your cutlery, crockery and cooking utensil needs plus a drop leaf table with four folding chairs underneath. There is a small oven in the pavilion with two hot plates if you prefer not to cook on the fire pit outside. The other curtained area has a daybed with a trundle underneath which can be made up as twin beds if required. The area in front of the wagon is for your sole use. There are seats, a table and fire pit under the apple trees. You can also park one or two cars to one side of the waggon. The green pavilion is just around the corner and comprises of a kitchen area, shower and toilet. Plus a sitting room should the weather not allow for sitting out in the garden. The tennis court is shared with the house guests.
Combs is a small village with no facilities of its own. Combs Ford is a mile away with a supermarket, shops, doctor’s surgery, pubs, fish and chip shop and petrol station. A mile in the other direction takes you to the village of Battisford where there is a lovely village pub that sells good locally produced food and will provide a takeaway service if needs be. There is also evening and weekend entertainment on certain dates. Stowmarket is a small town 1.5 miles away, it has all the usual shops that you may need plus a few individual ones. The museum of East Anglian Life is in the centre of Stowmarket and well worth a visit. There is also a leisure centre with swimming pool and a soft play area for young children. Stowmarket railway station runs trains to London Liverpool Street, Norwich and Peterborough regularly throughout the day. The east coast is easily accessible with Felixstowe being the nearest town, but the renowned destinations of Southwold and Aldeburgh are just an hour away. Bury St Edmunds is a beautiful historic town and has plenty to offer for a day out. The county town of Ipswich has the newly developed waterfront with a selection of good restaurants.
  • Thank you for a great stay. It was our first experience camping/glamping with the children and it was just perfect. The hut was a god send on the rainy days and a great adventure. Ed and I even had a go at tennis first time since the children have been born! Herbie loved being ball boy. breakfast and dinner cooked on the fire pit was ace. Such a cute little place it worked out well.

    Kerri2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy traditional caravan in a peaceful setting. The kids loved playing in the gardens and toasting marshmallows in the fire pit!

  • A lovely, peaceful place for a break in the Suffolk countryside.

    Harry2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the waggon for 5 days in August 2018. The communications with the host were clear and helpful. The location was easy to find by entering the postcode in google maps. The waggon was very clean and well stocked on arrival as was the log cabin with the private shower and toilet. The kitchen area was also well stocked with glasses, crockery, pans etc and there was a mini oven and hob for cooking, plus use of the communal BBQ (shared with house guests). Everything was very clean. The only drawback was that it was very dark at night if we needed to walk to the toilets. This could be easily fixed with a couple of extra solar lamps.

    Rhodri2018-08-24T00:00:00Z

This is lovely large barn conversion set in beautiful suffolk countryside close to idyllic cosy country pubs. You’ll love my place because of the open fires, original barn beams and lots of space. Its the perfect get away with a beautiful 2 acre garden and fantastic countryside walks.
The barn has two sides to it making it ideal for big families or mixed families who want a bit of space between them. The gardens are magnificent and it also features a fantastic games room which hosts a large pool table. It also has 3 living rooms so everyone can watch what they want on TV!
The Barn is nestled in picturesque country side. It's very quite and perfect for get away.
  • A great house perfect for our family gathering. Superb layout offering both great social areas and privacy when needed. Ideal for more than one family as the bedrooms are well spread out throughout the house and each has its own bathroom. Great dinning area with a large table that comfortably seats 10 people. Suitable for all ages with a living areas at each end of the house. Set on a fantastic plot with large garden, we had 4 cars and there is ample parking for more if needed. Very quiet and peaceful area, great for walking. House is full of character with beams and exposed brickwork. Very cozy with 2 log burners. We immediately felt comfortable as the house has a lived in feel. It is clean and tidy but do not expect a contemporary show home. It suited us perfectly and we fully intend to return...

  • This airbnb is perfect for a big get-together of family and friends. The property itself is stunning, with beautiful half-timbered rooms, and comes has very comfortable beds, a dining table that easily seats 10 people, a kitchen equipped with everything you need, a lounge with ample comfy seating and even a snooker table. Highly recommended!

  • Prospects was a stunning property with accommodation to suit all. The location was quiet and peaceful it was a pleasure to stay there.

  • Gorgeous house, full of quirky rooms and beautiful beams! It is a proper country cottage and surrounded by the Suffolk countryside, perfect for fresh air walks and lazy sunday afternoons. Sharon gave us lots of information and was so easy to contact when we had questions. House had everything you could need, fully equipped kitchen and comfy living room. The bedrooms are spread out enough to give everyone their privacy whilst not feeling like you’ve all disappeared in the house! Loved it!

    Joanna2019-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon’s place is excellent for families. We were there for 3 nights between Christmas and NY with my in-law family. We had one toddler and my elderly father in law who is not very able. The layout of the house worked perfectly for sleeping arrangements and for those that wanted to make a bit of noise in the evening without bothering others.

    Katie2018-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Bundles of character. Strikes a perfect balance between being modern and vintage. Love the layout of the place. Gave both families (both with kids) enough degrees of separation for some privacy. So much indoor space. Woudl love to experience this place in the summer. Can just have the doors open and throw the kids out into the garden! We'll be back. Thanks. Sharon was great.

A very comfortable and well equipped annexe attached to a traditional Suffolk Farmhouse, set in beautiful secluded gardens. The annexe is accessed via a private patio overlooking a beautiful moat and gardens. On the edge of a village and up a private drive, the setting is incredibly peaceful. Surrounded by farmland and footpaths, there is plenty to do. Local activities: - walks - historic town of Lavenham - Constable country and Dedham Vale - many local pubs - great cycle routes
The annexe itself consists of: Open plan living / kitchen area - TV - small dining area - oven/hob - fridge/freezer - double doors opening onto the private patio En suite bedroom/bathroom - super king bed (can be separated to two twins) - wardrobe - chest of drawers - bath - walk in shower We can supply a travel cot on request
Our farmhouse is on the edge of the village of Whatfield in Suffolk. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and very unspoilt. The town of Hadleigh is a 7min drive away, and offers shops, pubs and supermarkets. Local attractions include: - many footpaths (including one outside out door so no need to get in the car!) - cycle routes (safe storage for bikes) - exploring historic Lavenham (15min) with its many restaurants, shops and galleries - lots of award winning pubs, including The Crown at Bildeston and The Red Rose, Lindsey - Suffolk coast - Bury St Edmunds (40min)
  • After looking at the pictures and reviews on AirBnB I must admit I did have pretty high expectations of the accommodation. I can honestly say that it did not disappoint at all. It is a beautifully finished annexe set in rural & quiet surroundings. I booked and arrived at the accommodation quite late and despite this James was on hand to show me into the property and communication throughout was excellent. Throughout the stay Georgina made sure that I was happy with the accommodation and offered advice on the local area.

    Garreth2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most amazing stay at Georgina and Tommy’s. They were such amazing hosts, very helpful and had loads of personal touches. The flat was a great space to stay in, very stylishly done and plenty of room for our baby to sleep in the other room from us. It’s a great location too with lots to do nearby. Thank you v much, we will definitely be back!

    Heather2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very comfortable stay in this annex. It is located on the edge of beautiful Suffolk countryside. It has its own private entrance, kitchenette and sitting room with views onto the lovely garden. The bed was very comfortable and the quiet surroundings meant for a very nice lie in! The en-suite bathroom is modern with a large bath and separate walk in rain shower. We were staying in the area for a local wedding and this annexe was the perfect base from which to explore. Georgina was very helpful and welcoming. I would highly recommend.

We were met by Victoria on arrival and shown round the facilities - lots of goodies left for us which was fabulous and our 4 legged friend was welcomed with open arms (paws?). Victoria was amazing at responding to queries and was the ultimate host. Would 100% recommend this accommodation to everyone. Superb!

  • A wonderful cottage Victoria and Stephen have created. Honestly a lovely place and the pictures do not do justice to all the wonderful touches they have taken the time install. We’d definitely recommended taking the opportunity to stay - our one regret was not staying longer!

  • Victoria and Stephen were great hosts. I booked the accommodation at the last minute but Victoria was very prompt at replying to my enquiry and we received a really warm welcome on arrival. The Lodge space is beautiful, with thoughtful touches throughout, as are the surrounding grounds which all made for an enjoyable, relaxing country escape. The views to the rear of the property are wonderful, the sunsets a particular highlight! Thank you Victoria :)

We love to travel to new places but we also like our home comforts, so that's what we're aiming to provide but this time in a real Mongolian yurt (or Ger as they are called in Mongolia). The yurt is great for a real back-to-nature experience with an exotic twist. Sleep under the stars but all snuggled up and cosy at the same time! Space for a family or a wonderful romantic break with your loved one any time of year!
Hollow Trees Farm and Jimmy's Farm are great fun for kids and adults, or head off to Thetford Forest for cycling & Go Ape. Easy access to the coast or the lovely Suffolk villages & towns. Country walks are on your doorstep and the village play equipment is just a few minutes walk away.
  • This yurt is delightful and puts glamping on a high level. It has a designated ‘bathroom’ which was spotless, although a short walk away. The yurt is very comfortable and well supplied with crockery etc. everything one needs! We had a great time with our three granddaughters, a fun place to share time.

  • We had three wonderful nights in Gertie the Yurt. The Yurt itself was beautifully appointed with comfy beds, great furnishing and that all-important feature: good reading lights. It was also extremely cosy, and just a single log on the wood-burning stove warmed us up in less than 15 minutes. Our ten-year-old twins loved running around outside - toasting marshmallows on the fire, playing football under the moonlight, exploring the local footpaths across the fields. All in all, a fabulous family holiday experience.

    Roman2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely stay with all the little touches which bought the stay to life for the kids - the marshmallows were consumed hot and cold!

    Rachel2018-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect glamping experience! The yurt was surprisingly spacious for our family of 5 and had plenty of tea, coffee, milk, bedding, towels etc. The complimentary marshmallows for toasting over the fire pit was a lovely unexpected touch. The bathroom was clean and the campsite well maintained. Surrounded by beautiful Suffolk countryside, we will definitely be returning one day.

    Rachael2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Val and Graham greeted us upon arrival and showed us around. Everything was extremely clean and easy to use. Would definitely recommend and return. We loved it!

    Kayz Kelli2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • The location is lovely and rural but within a few miles we found plenty to do with our four children. The Yurt is well equipped and was warm and clean and the bedding comfortable. The private bathroom was much appreciated and the shower nice and hot. We enjoyed using the fire pit one evening. Overall a really lovely weekend and we'd be happy to recommend it.

    Lorne2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt is luxurious and comfortable, a better nights sleep wouldn't be found in any hotel. Toasting marshmallows in the evening at the fire pit and getting to know the few other guests in this idyllic, remote part of Suffolk was fabulous. The surroundings offered so much in the way of activities and visits for the chi,Drew and ourselves, along with a multitude of places to eat. I can heartily recommend the Museum of East Anglian Life, Stonham Barns Owl Sanctuary and Hollow Trees farm.

Thanks so much and lots of love to Tilly the dog too who was a fun addition to the stay.

  • MC and family were wonderful hosts and very welcoming. It is a beautiful house in a peaceful location. I even saw some monkjack deer walking past from the bathroom window. The swimming pool is an added bonus. We would definitely recommend. Particularly enjoyed homecake cake and tea on arrival - a lovely touch.

  • Old Rectory is a beautiful house set in an attractive garden. MC and Tim are remarkable hosts with a welcoming family. Far more comfortable and relaxing than a corporate hotel.

  • Our first ever airbnb and massively impressed. Beautiful property and MC is such a wonderful host. A must stay if you ever get the chance. The surrounding area is picture postcard, lush country side and the property is a great place to explore the local area. Icing on the cake being the sunshine and use of the beautiful swimming pool.

Glamping is the fun way to have a back-to-nature experience combining camping with a touch of luxury, without the hard work of pitching a tent or lugging your own kitchen sink and sleeping bag with you. It's camping in style - home comforts included! Our site is in a peaceful meadow in the lovely Suffolk countryside, well away from the road so the children can play in safety and you can relax. 20% DISCOUNT FOR BOOKINGS OF 7 DAYS OR MORE!
We love to travel to new places but we also like our home comforts, so that's what we're aiming to provide but as a slightly different experience- in the middle of a field! Our site is in a delightful spot, very peaceful, surrounded by trees and overlooking farmland. Our pods have been designed by us and built by local craftsmen over the last 2 years. We hope you like them as much as we do.
Buxhall is ideally located for exploring both the Suffolk countryside and coast with Felixstowe around 40 mins by car. Southwold, famed for its beach huts, pier, lighthouse and Adnams beer is approximately an hour away with Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings nearby. Inland, Medieval Lavenham and historic Bury St Edmunds are only 20 minutes away. The village itself is home to the Buxhall Crown - #1 of 47 restaurants in Stowmarket on Trip Advisor (bookings only) and Granary Crafts, a delightful bygones museum, craft shop and tea room. Both are within easy walking distance from your pod. Stowmarket's Museum of East Anglian Life is worth a look and hosts some events during the summer months while Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre has an indoor swimming pool, gym and assorted activities including PlayWorld for children up to the age of 12 in the summer.

You're welcome to come and stay in our family home slap bang in the middle of rural Suffolk. Big skies, a warm family welcome, and take us as we come. We have three rooms, one en-suite the other two with shared bathroom.
The price listed is for bed and breakfast.
