Brodie House & Bungalow, Pet Friendly

DavidRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Brodie House and Bungalow was the perfect location for our trip to Coffs Harbour. We were after somewhere close to restaurants, the beach and golf courses, and this property ticked all those boxes. The property was a really nice size and had good breakout areas to use. Would definitely recommend the house for larger groups or multiple families travelling together. Tracey was really easy to communicate with and very responsive to any questions. A great trip away.

This Airbnb and its location are perfect for a family getaway. Everything was just what we needed for the trip, including the recreation and leisure. Could not have asked for a better combination of accommodation and location. The kids absolutely loved it, too. Eva was quick to respond to any questions or concerns and was helpful with arrangements. Definitely recommend staying at this gem of a beachside location.

Your guide to Bellingen

All About Bellingen

Waterfall Way, Never Never River, the Promised Land: The attractions around Bellingen live up to their fairytale names. On the mid-north coast of New South Wales, roughly halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, lies bohemian Bellingen, enveloped in a protected rainforest, where waterfalls thunder over cliffs and hiking trails lead to cool waterholes populated by native animals and birds all around. Beyond the rainforest, wide-eyed cows graze lazily across rolling green farmland, fed by some of the cleanest water in the country from the Bellingen River; morning mists hang low over flooded river gums here, creating a landscape as bucolic as it is beautiful.

The best time to stay in a holiday rental in Bellingen

There’s no bad time to visit Bellingen, although some times are preferable, depending on your planned activities. Hikers will want to consider midwinter and early spring (July through September), when daily temperatures sit around 65 degrees Fahrenheit, and annual rainfall is at its lowest. Water temperatures can be brisk at this time of year, reaching seasonal lows of 64 in August. Daytime temperatures rarely dip much below 80 degrees in summer (December through February), with long days of sunshine heating up creeks, rivers, and waterholes to the mid-70s. Rainfall is also high at this time of year, but reaches its peak in fall (March through May), when waterfalls are gushing.

Top things to do in Bellingen

Dorrigo National Park

This national park spans 30,000 acres. The best way to gain perspective of its far-reaching expanse is from the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre. For a bird’s-eye view over the Gondwana rainforest that hugs gorges and valleys, wander out on the Skywalk, cantilevered 70 feet above the forest floor. Back inside the center, rangers can advise on the perfect hike, whether you choose the one-hour Lyrebird Link track or the three-hour Wonga Walk to Crystal Falls. More cascades await along Waterfall Way, a dramatic, nature-fueled road-trip linking Bellingen’s forest with the Coffs Coast region to the east.

Bellingen Community Market

From organic produce stalls to hippy fashion and arts and crafts, the Bellingen Community Market is as entertaining as it is eye-opening. There’s not a local who doesn’t attend this buzzy affair, which also draws artists and makers from around the region. It’s well worth timing your visit to coincide with this all-inclusive fete, held on the third Saturday of every month.

Canoe the Bellingen River

There are few more serene ways to soak up the countryside than on a canoe expedition along the Bellingen River, past flooded gums and dairy farms, with azure kingfishers and sea eagles in your company. Paddle at your own pace, or join a guided tour: once a month, you can float at night under the glow of the full moon.
