First, as Athenians do, we will meet in Monastiraki Square in the city center. We'll grab a coffee and do a "volta" -- a leisurely walk through the city to give you a taste of what it's like to be a local! The walk will take about 1,5 hours. During it, I'll share with you my love for Athens -- the hidden paths, beautiful backstreets and hills, its living history, and some personal stories as well. I'll give you a glimpse of the modern Athenian lifestyle, where we hang out, where we eat, and most importantly where we cut loose. We'll end the "volta" at one of the best wine bars in Athens. There, we'll spend 1,5 hours more, and during that time we will do a brief introduction to Greek wine culture, as well as a short master class about wine tasting and food pairing. We'll taste four indigenous grape varieties, combined with a salad, cold cuts, and an assortment of Greek cheeses. Original Cultural walking tour with local expert -Athens

The secret to traveling well is to embrace the local culture, learn the history and influence which has shaped Athens. We will navigate through less travelled paths and see neo classical buildings which were the prestige of the Greek modrrn state. We will make coffee /juice break in the middle of the tour before heading to the Cycladic, Benaki or Byzantine museums where you will get a general view and description from the outside. This will enrich you with the most relevant characteristics of the Hellenic culture. You will learn about the architectural design and variant influences which has shaped Greece. You will get also a description of the presidential palace and Zappeio. Then, we will walk around the old city and explore the Anafiotika 'neighbourhood, a unique houses design. You will get details why this area was built.. We could potentially striking up a conversation with local people and relax around a traditional meal if wanted. I will show you a place with real traditional home made pie made from the Epirus region. Additionally, made on request we could explore another museum and little picturesque streets, ending up to for a drink with the view of Acropolis. However in that case, you will need to consider another 2 hours on top of the basic tour. Please feel free to let me know what suit you the best.

This route is a long walk(about 2h)around the historical center, starting at Syntagma Square and ending in Monastiraki neighborhood. We explore the traditional neighborhoods of Agia Irene, Monastiraki and Psiri while scenting the aromas of the vivid flea market.

Drone Athens Riviera to Cape Sounio's Poseidon Temple Sunset

Together we will discover the memorable ATHENIAN RIVIERA, which starts from the city center and ends at Sounio Peninsula, where the temple of the God of the Sea is located. The total route is around 140km (around 87 mi) by the coastline. For you to get to know the suburbs of Athens and enjoy the views, cliffs, lakes, sea, sun, FOOD, beaches with emerald waters. It is an ideal journey with locals (we will provide all the information needed for a wonderful stay here in Greece)! The pick up point is near the Acropolis museum and from there depending on season we will see many locations such as the Cultural Center (SNFCC) of Athens, the lake Vouliagmeni-a rare geological thermal phenomenon with spa fish-, small towns and villages near the cape, beaches and of course the Temple of Poseidon situated on an idyllic landscape. The Doric temple, which was erected during the Golden age and was devoted to Poseidon is at the southernmost point of Attica region. A trip totally worth it for the views and landscapes you'll get to see. And also for the drone photos and videos we will be doing (4k quality, you'll receive them at your email). We are certain that the sunset (the 2nd best that Greece has to offer) and the aura of the temple will captivate you as it happens with us every single time. (entrance fee @the temple is not incl., winter-summer:5-10€,free for Europeans under 25y) DO IT!
