  • We had a lovely stay here. When we arrived everything was so clean. We would recommend staying here and we will stay here again ourselves. There are shops which are very close which is handy.

  • Really enjoyed our stay here. Highly recommend such a nice area and chalet to be in. It was good place to chill but also nice area to go out and adventure.

    Ani2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place with a wonderful setup. It's as enjoyable to explore the beautiful Welsh countryside nearby on a sunny day, as it is to snuggle up inside on a rainy day in front of the fireplace and listen to the rain pound the glass roof windows. Peter was very helpful with his tips of the local places and activities but otherwise allowed us our privacy which is greatly appreciated.

    Cristian2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • I wouldnt hesitate to book here. Incredible value for a home from home stay. Even better with a log fire! Thoughtful touches/provisions and a great nights sleep. Fantastic!

    Natasha2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's place was amazing and the pictures really don't do it justice. Super easy to self-checkin and the cottage had everything you'd need to get started. We did a few of the walks around the local area, and being so close to caves, waterfalls and beaches - we found the 4 days flew by. 5/5!

    Chris2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Peter was an excellent host & his place was well situated. We took walks from the door & also a couple of trips to the coast & caves. The place was lovely, clean, cosy & comfortable with plenty of local information.

My place is close to Waterfalls, caves and mountains with fantastic walking. It is just a 2 minute walk from Porth Yr Ogof Caves, and 2 minutes from the start famous Four Waterfalls Walk. You’ll love my place because of the comfy bed, the cosiness, the kitchen and the stunning location. My place is great for couples. The property is a larger than average shepherds hut (21 feet long) with underfloor heating, log burner and it is insulated with lambs wool. This is Glamping at it's best!
The hut is warm and cosy with a very comfortable king size bed and luxurious bedding . A starter kit for the woodburner will be provided.
The hut is situated in the stunning Brecon Beacons national park right in the heart of waterfall country . The small village of Ystradfellte is a 5 minute drive or a 10 minute walk . Pen y Fan the highest peak in the National Park short drive away . Porth Yr Ogof the largest and most impressive cave entrance in the National Park is literally on the doorstep . Right on the four waterfalls walk .There is a pub that serves food (dog and walker friendly )in the village. There are lots of other pubs a short drive away some details and recommendations provided on booking. There are no shops , supermarkets etc in the immediate vicinity .
  • Lovely little getaway with brilliant walks nearby.

    Abbie2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • We went to the Brecon Beacons for a few nights and the stay in Lucia’s Shepherds Hut was bliss. Incredibly cosy, really innovative design and full of great amenities e.g. SMEG fridge and a lovely log burner. The location is equally perfect to enjoy some tranquil isolation, easy to hideaway if desired, or to experience one of the many amazing walks around the Beacons. The Waterfall walk was v cool! Lucia then came to see us on the last day and was nothing but a delightful host. Would definitely stay again in a heartbeat!

    Anthony2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful shepherds hut. Great location. Lots of things to see and do nearby. Would definitely recommend

    Kiri2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed our stay over the weekend, wish it could of been longer. The cabin was immaculately clean and we were plenty warm with the log burner and electric heaters. The bed was also a bonus as it was extremely comfy. Cooking facilities are basic but there are a decent amount of places to eat out nearby. The four waterfalls walk is definitely worth it and there are plenty of other walks nearby as well that will keep you occupied for a weekend or possibly even longer. We will definitely be coming back for summer. Couldn’t recommend this place anymore.

    Toby2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic little place to stay. Just perfect for what we wanted for a night away in the Brecon Beacons. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and just as described. Contact with the host (Lucia) was very efficient and also gave some great recommendations for the local area. Four waterfalls walk is close by and definitely worth doing if staying here!

    Damian2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most perfect stay here for a long weekend, couldn’t recommend it more highly! ❤️ Lucia gave us lots of info on the best places to walk and eat, as well as easy to follow instructions on how to find the hut, which helped massively. The hut itself is perfect - so clean and cosy, and I can imagine it would be as lovely in summer when you can sit out on the decking, as it is in February cosied up inside with the log burner lit! It was a welcome retreat after three long days walking. The location is stunning... the four waterfalls walk is right on your doorstep, and we also did Pen y Fan & Corn Du (15 mins drive), and the Llyn y Fan Fach & Llyn y Fan Fawr lakes and surrounded mountains. We do lots of walking and I can honestly say I’ve never seen such breathtaking views as we did on that walk! We were so lucky with the weather too, gorgeous sunny days, with lots of snow on the tops which made it even more special! We had an amazing meal at the Red Lion in Penderyn, and joined in the pub quiz at the Old White Horse in Pontneddfechan, where the locals were super welcoming and friendly 🥰 There is no wifi or mobile phone signal at the hut (or in surrounding areas), which forces you to stop staring at your phone - something I definitely needed! I would say to make sure you plan what you’d like to do before you arrive, because you can’t google things easily, and also download offline maps on google maps so you don’t get lost on the crazy country roads! We took board games and films in case the weather was bad, and there is also a selection of DVD’s in the hut. I can see why Lucia’s place is always booked up, it’s amazing!

    Jessica2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • The shepherds hut is a cute and ohhhh so cosy place to stay .The start of the Four waterfall walk is two minutes away from Lucias’s property so another big bonus for its location .The property is spotlessly clean, and we received a big warm welcome .A beautiful place to wake up and hear the river and birds singing .

    Sylvia2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderfully remote and yet still very much accessible. Well located to explore the great outdoors of the Brecon Beacons. Equally charming indoors, particularly when the storms arrived, with plenty of firewood and dvds to keep you occupied. A great bonus being right at the start of the Waterfalls trail too.

  • Bob was an amazing host and was very helpful during this awful time the country is going through. We will be returning to this Cabin when we come back too Wales. The cabin was amazing and slept comfortably the 6 of us that went. Stunning views from the balcony too.

  • Lovely log cabin. Amazing views. Very peaceful. Fantastic hosts.

    Kevin2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy warm log cabin with stunning views of the Welsh valleys. Bedrooms good sizes and comfortable beds. Kitchen fully equipped and was nice to have basics like tea and coffee and cooking oil there. There is no garden as such as it’s set into a hill but I imagine that it’s lovely to use the patio furniture and look over the valleys and at all the different birds in the summer months. Recommend three cliffs beach - was stunning. Swansea is a 25 min drive if you want to go into a town. Local pub walkable.

    Anna2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy dog friendly place with lovely walks. This place is brilliant for nice walks, local pub and also great to just lock yourself away for a cosy family weekend.

    Darren2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best New Year’s Eve stay with 4 children and a dog. So much space. Amazing views. Everything you need is in the lodge. Bob was a fantastic host and very helpful. We drove 4 hours to get to the lodge and would do it again as it was just a fantastic trip and excellent value for money!!

    Jade2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The lodge was well situated, in striking distance of a lot of beautiful walks and stunning coastline. The view from the balcony was amazing. Sufficient parking for three cars. The lodge was well equipped, warm & comfortable and well laid out with a communal lounge / dining / kitchen area - an ideal social setup. Bob our host was prompt and very helpful! Do note that bedrooms are double bed + single; twin beds; and bunk beds for children.

  • Cosy, wooden lodge with amazing views

    Debbie2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Bob and Linda are wonderful hosts. They were quick with their responses and are very understanding. The place was spotless and was wonderfully decorated. The location is a bit tricky to find on GPS but was Bob left us with plenty of instructions and even was standing outside in the rain to receive us. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

Peaceful, small, quiet, private cabin and patio with sink/drinking water, separate shower/toilet room across in the garden, looking out onto stunning countryside of the Brecon Beacons National Park on a safe, quiet, residential street. No cooking allowed but home-made meals can be provided on request, picnics are fine and there is a choice of great pubs with-in walking distance. Super-fast broad-band. Pets welcome. Easy parking. Great walks. Dark skies. Lots of wildlife. See photos/captions.
Covid 19 update: We have to set a 4 night minimum during this time because we are leaving 72 hours between booking for safe cleaning practices. xx Our little cabin used to house a pony and we've been playing with it for a few years to make an easy, relaxing, refreshing hide-away. Where ever possible we have used up-cycled things or made them ourselves. We want it to be a real change from home. See our Photos with detailed captions for the clearest impression (might not be fully view-able on phones.) We respect our guests privacy very much and do our best to leave you in peace and solitude. We only come to the cabin if we have concerns about noise or smoke! So you can loose your self a little in a safe, secure environment. Everyone is welcome from any age or walk of life. We are always delighted to have visitors from anywhere in the world. Children always love it. There are two very comfy single beds (one pulls out from under the other), free private super-fast Wifi, electricity, all bedding, selection of hot drinks, fruit, cutlery/plates/cooler ect for your own picnics and delicious, all-home-made meals available on request. Hot cooking is not permitted. There is a small choice of games and books and leaflets from local attractions. We aim for you to have a relaxing, peaceful, refreshing experience close to the elements, in cosy, informal comfort and security. We are in a Dark Skies Area which is fantastic so we keep lighting low. It gets beautifully dark here even though we are right on a quiet residential street. There are lots of very active bird feeders and the sculpture garden aims to attract and support as much wild-life of all sorts as possible. No creatures are excluded or harmed. There are extra blankets and thick duvets for the cold weather that can arrive suddenly here. Bring warm clothes. The electric convector heater should not be left on when you sleep, if the door is open or you are out. But it will warm the space quickly. Osprey Studios has signed up to the Welsh Sustainable Business Charter and we aim to reduce waste and all fuel use where ever possible. There are recycling bins for you as well as a small garbage bin. There is a good sized fold-out table to spread out your work or meals. Outside, part of your patio is covered so you have shade and shelter, fresh herbs are growing for you to use in teas or your food, there's a table and chairs, a sink with running drinking water, lively bird feeders, visiting friendly horses and cats, a potter's momentum wheel and a stunning, enchanting view. Your area is surrounded by planting so you have some seclusion and can loose yourself in the gentle atmosphere. Our cabin is small, simple and it's NOT posh!! It's tranquil, relaxing and cosy. Sleep with the stable door open or bundle up in bed with the super-warm duvets and soft blankets on a stormy autumn night. We're not fussy about a mess and mud either, so don't worry about coming back off the mountain filthy! Our place is all about getting involved in the natural world and there is a great, varied choice of walks right from the cabin. Pets are very welcome. The shower and toilet are across the garden towards the house. There is low lighting but it does get wonderfully dark. The shower has fantastic pressure and endless hot water. There is no heating in this very small, simple room. The small sink and relief floor are custom-made here at the Studio. There is shampoo, soap and conditioner and an extra towel. Big towels and flannels are in the cabin for you. There are hooks for your clothes. For the same reasons, no smoking or cooking are permitted in the cabin. Smoking on the patio is fine. The cabin is a peaceful and quiet space to rest, paint and work.
Quiet, safe, friendly, family oriented, residential neighbourhood. There is a useful Spar shop and 3 award-winning pubs with great food within walking distance, The Penycae Inn, The Ancient Briton and The Abercrave Inn. (you would be advised to book meals with them on weekends.) Variety of lovely walks right out of the cabin.
  • Lovely little cosy spot at the foot of the mountain. Rebecca does some lovely vegetarian food and there's a good choice of pubs in the area. Very peaceful with great views from outside the cabin. Thanks :)

    Lewis2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We have such a lovely, cosy stay. The cabin had lots of little touches throughout and you could tell a lot of love and thought had gone into the place. We had everything we could have needed and lots of privacy but also Rebecca was a great host if we needed anything. I think it’s a great price and we would definitely stay again. If you’re looking for somewhere quirky to enjoy being in the countryside this is perfect.

    Jordan2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Quirky and cozy, amazing hospitality and picturesque view. The breakfast was lovely. Plenty to do in the surrounding area. Thoroughly enjoyed and recommend!

    Mark2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a tranquil, relaxing, friendly glamping experience then this place will exceed all your expectations! The location and scenery is just beautiful and Rebecca is a very warm welcoming host who ensures you have everything you need but is far from intrusive and leaves you to relax and soak in the local beauty. We stayed in the cabin for 1 night on a very cold frosty January and the cabin kept us toasty and warm with the heater. Which was much needed after a beautiful 5 mile 4 Falls walk. It was the best night’s sleep I had, had for a long time and I did not want to get up in the morning as I was too cosy listening to the birds chirping away. We even had one of Rebecca’s friendly cats greet us at the cabin door when we opened it in the morning and we had the pleasure of it enjoying a good fuss from us :) I would definitely recommend the Ancient Briton and Penycae inn which are both in walking distance for a local pint or food. I would also recommend a relaxing stroll at the nearby Craig-Y-Nos country park (3mins drive away). All in all is was a much needed relaxing weekend at Rebecca’s cabin that really recharged my batteries and I cannot wait to book back again! :)

    Kirsty2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very unique setup. Quiet, beautiful skies. Nature one step away. Horses, cats, dogs.

    Lucia2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Rebecca's place is a nature home, it blends in so we'll with the nature around. The place is well maintained and has got the required items. The bed was so cozy, wa and comfortable that the heater was not even required. The place has a wonderfully garden with beautiful sculptures made by Rebecca herself. If the weather is good you wake up to birds chirping right outside the room, you could see them up close from the window. Right behind the cabin you get a beautiful view of the mountains with wild horses lurking around. Rebecca herself is an amazing person to talk to, I learnt a thing or two from her during my stay. Leon is a talented individual himself and an amazing person to talk to. If you stay here I would highly recommend getting the home made meals as they were very delicious, infact among the best I have had in Wales. Lastly, be sure to check out the Sculpted works of Rebecca. Definitely recommend this place.

  • Beautiful house in an amazing part of the world, filled with some of the friendliest people and dogs you'll ever meet! Can't wait to come back again

    James2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, Jonathan really makes an effort to make you feel at home. When you first get there, a few overzealous dogs greet you, but they are quickly turned into a great friendly part of your stay. You feel right at home, a working hobby farm, on Jonathan's family home that they've had for the last 100 years (or close to). Beautiful walks in the area, waterfalls, and the host gives you great pub recommendations - check out the Angel. If we're in the area again, will definitely stay here.

  • This is a very quirky place. Very secluded and quiet. Lovely waterfall on the way to the house. Super place if you love dogs. Funny looking geese outside, they were very unusual. No tv in bedroom but there are two tv rooms downstairs.

    Huw2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jonathan's place is highly recommended especially if you love animals. I had a fantastic time with his dogs and cats. We also enjoyed feeding his geese and ducks. Lexi, the dog, is the sweetest and my most favorite. The dogs are house-trained and very friendly. The property is situated next to the stream and the countryside scenery is splendid. So this place is perfect if you want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Jonathan, the host, is very hospitable. Sue, the caretaker, is lovely and accommodating. We will definitely stay there again in the future.

  • Place was great - has a wood fire which works great. Place is a little dated (there is a bit of damp in places - but we only stayed in the main bedroom which is fine - may not be great for small children), but adds to the feel of the place. The living room, kitchen etc is fine. The cottage is within a small farm/zoo and is right within the Brecon Beacons. Nice restaurant/pub nearby as well as big supermarkets.

  • Fantastic cottage, perfect location. Immaculately clean, warm and full of character. Helen and Michaels communication was prompt and was very helpful as I was travelling from UAE for my sons wedding near by. They accommodated my request to arrive a bit earlier and made sure the cottage was warm with some very welcome welsh cakes to have with a cup of tea. Felt they provided a very personal service. Will definitely be staying there again!

  • Kate has a great place here - it's comfortable, warm and very stylishly decorated. There are a host of great things to do round about - we'd recommend the walk to Henrhyd Falls, which is beautiful - and the house is a lovely place to hang out if you need to survive a day or two of rain too! Kate is a great host - responsive and flexible. Would most definitely recommend.

  • A perfectly quant and equipped refuge with all the amenities. A very comfortable space, exactly as shown in the pictures. And Kate was a wonderful host, offering up quick responses and accommodating our request to check in early. Travelling with a 4 month old baby can prove to be tricky but this spot made everything easy and smooth. Highly recommend!!

  • We have just returned from a weekend at Kate’s place in Avercrave and we had the most wonderful time. The cottage was one of the nicest Air b&b’s we’ve ever stayed in, it’s beautifully decorated with everything you could want and need. The treats on arrival were a lovely touch. Luna (our pup) enjoyed the posh pooch treats and even tried out the plush dog bed provided. The cottage is in a great location for lots of beautiful walks, we especially enjoyed the 4 waterfalls walk. I would highly recommend this wonderful cottage to anyone wanting a quiet weekend away in the beautiful Brecon Beacons.

    Lauren2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Kate was the most brilliant host. Communicated with me very quickly when I asked any questions. The cottage was beautiful, clean and had everything you needed for a wonderful stay. We loved walking and seeing the river which is 5 mins from the house. We visited the monkey sanctuary which was a 5 minute drive and is great for kids. We visited a beach on our last day which was only an hours drive. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Highly recommend.

    Grace2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful home located perfectly just outside the brecon beacons offers everything you could want for a nice weekend stay. The amenities are state of the art and very clean and you can literally walk from the house to some beautiful waterfalls with lovely river walks. I would highly recommend this place for anyone with a dog aswell.

The chalet is close to various attractions including Dan yr ogaf caves, the various waterfalls and the Brecon Beacons national park. There’s loads of places you can go for food too. Why not try the Ancient Briton or Abercrave inn for some great pub food. If you don’t want to go out for food you can make use of the kitchen in the chalet.
  • Paula’s place was incredibly clean and it had everything you need for a stay. We had a very comfortable and cosy stay. Ross and Paula were both very friendly with lots of tips about the local sights. The Welsh cakes were a welcome surprise and they were very delicious!

    Sim2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful little annex that has been recently decorated. Paula was an amazing host who provided us with lovely Welsh cakes on arrival and a batch of eggs fresh from their chickens! The place was very warm and has everything you need for a stay regardless of time (anything else we mightve needed I'm sure they wouldnt have minded us asking!). It's in a great location just outside of Brecon Beacons and was very very clean!

  • Cwtch Caravan was exactly what we needed. A nice break surrounded by nature and countryside. It’s all really authentic, the caravan is really cosy and the log burner is easy to use and control the temperature. Using the shower was easy, the converted pig shed is perfect! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the hosts to be genuine, helpful and kind. Nothing was to much trouble. We’d love to visit again sometime! And promise not to break anything this time! Haha Thank you all so much!

  • This is a really cosy place to stay, me and my boyfriend stayed just one night but wished it could have been longer. We had everything we needed and we were very comfortable, the wood burner kept us really warm. Caroline and Jem were really kind and made us feel really welcomed and even put some balloons and candles for my boyfriends birthday which was so lovely! They made our stay special and we had a great time - highly recommend!

    Monica2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend break in the caravan, it's the perfect place to get away from everything for a while. Jeremy met us on arrival and was very friendly and welcoming, he gave us a tour of the facilities and lots of wood for the fire! We'd highly recommend the walk up Fan Hir, along the ridge to Fan Brycheiniog and back down the valley followed by a pint or two in the Tafarn-y-Garreg pub just up the road.

    Ben2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline was lovey and very welcoming. The place is beautiful and the caravan is very cozy and warm even when in the winter!

    Ricardo2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

  • Exceptional place. Clean, brilliant location, and added extras from Della who went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and prepared for our stay. The flat is very close to the monkey sanctuary the waterfalls. The pub below has a lovely atmosphere- (only went for drinks as there weren't any vegetarian options). Highly recommend the Curry House which does deliveries via Just Eat, as well as sgwd gwladys- a small pub/restaurant that does lovely breakfasts (inc. veggie and vegan). Overall was an absolutely lovely stay! Thanks, Della x

  • We had a lovely stay at Della's place. The location is brilliant, so close for good walks and close to some gorgeous waterfalls. The apartment was sparkling clean and had everything we needed. The weather wasn't great (storms) so we spent more time in the apartment than expected. We had a couple of questions and Della got back to me straight away with the answers. Would recommend!

    Chelsea2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our first impression was wow! Della's place is very immaculate and we had a very comfortable stay. It only took us 15 minutes at a leisurely pace to reach the henrhyd waterfall. We stayed for valentine's day, and loved the thoughtful touches. Great little place to stay to explore the nearby walks and waterfalls. The wifi was a little slow but we did go during a storm. We would highly recommend for anyone looking to explore the waterfalls.

  • Words cannot express how grateful I am to Ian and Laura. I was on holiday in their cottage, when my country started closing boarders. They were quick to assure me that if needed, I had a safe place to stay. And when it became clear i needed to leave in a hurry, midway through my stay, they were kind an supportive and told me the rest of my days would be good when this whole scary mess was over. The home and location is beautiful, but it is the kindness over the owners I cant speak highly enough of.

    Jennie2020-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely cottage. My wife and I only spent two days here but we were very surprised by the size of the accomodation and how homely it felt. It had everything we needed. We would love to come back to this area again when we can spend more time.

  • It was the best accommodation in our trip through Wales. It was very well equipped, wireless worked great, fireplace was available, house was very nicely decorated, the garden with river was an absolute highlight. The place did not have much to offer, but next door was a place with everything you need, plus the National Park is absolutely worth seeing. Can only recommend it!

  • I would recommend this place a million percent. Perfect location, beautiful flat with a perfect host. Immaculately clean with lots of added extra touches. We have had the perfect weekend and we will definitely be back x

    Kay2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nigel’s communication on booking and when we were en route to Swansea was excellent: prompt and comprehensive. We were in Swansea for our son’s birthday, an occasion that Nigel was kind enough to mark with a bottle of wine. The apartment itself was easy to reach from the road through the city centre and there is free car parking a five-minute walk away. The accommodation – bedroom, bathroom & kitchenette – was warm, very fresh & spotlessly clean. Although it is only a short distance from the city centre, the location itself is quiet and I slept better than I often do when away from home. There are a number of places to eat around the marina basin – we had a nice meal in a Chinese restaurant only a 5-10 minute walk away. This apartment would well suit a couple on a weekend break in the city.

  • "The Dunes" it's a very comfortable apartment, very close to the beach and perfectly well located, near shops, downtown and bus stops, but at the same time is very quiet and private. The place is very comfortable, and clean, and Nigel is a great host that always replied very fast and was super kind. I really enjoy my stay at his place and definitively will recommend this place if you're looking for a nice and comfortable place!

    Rodrigo2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for Swansea itself and for access to The Gower and Brecon Beacons. Spotlessly clean and Nigel was great at communicating and sending all necessary information.

Set amongst the beautiful waterfall country, on the border of the Brecon beacons & surrounded by country fields. You are spoilt for choice with walks on the doorstep, cycle paths, waterfalls, plenty of attractions & country pubs. Our house is a lovingly renovated Edwardian property. We have two cats and a small friendly dog called Coco (kept downstairs). We are happy to give you privacy, but also available if you need assistance. A cooked breakfast is available on request for £10 per person.
The room is a generous double at the front of property. As well as a double bed, there is a also a single memory foam mattress and space for a travel cot. There is a smart TV with access to Netflix and catch up TV, a sofa & arm chair, to relax and put your feet up, watch a film & unwind. There is also a mini fridge, kettle and teas, coffee, biscuits and snacks, so you have everything you need to feel at home. We also cater for vegan and gluten free diets, please ask when booking if you require dairy free milk etc.
The house is located on a quiet street, with only a few other houses. It is a semi-detached building and to the left of the property there are fields and a country lane, leading to various walks & henryd waterfalls. We are within 20 mins of the M4 motorway and easy access to Swansea and the stunning beaches of the Gower peninsula. Rural yet close to all amenities, local shopping and cafes in Ystradgynlais town just 3 miles away. There are also many pubs and restaurants in the area. There are many local attractions nearby, including Dan yr Ogof Caves (& dinosaur park), Craig y Nos castle & country park, Wales chimp & monkey sanctuary (where you can also apply to be a keeper for the day, if you're not content just looking around). Of course you have plenty of waterfalls to visit, with henryd on our doorstep and the 8- waterfall walk. Along with many other lovely walks and cycle paths, feel free to ask us for more info, we do a lot of walking! Being on the borders of the Brecon beacons there are also many hiking opportunities for more adventurous walkers. Y Cribarth is just opposite the house, also known as the sleeping giant, as you can see a man's silhouette when approaching from Ystradgynlais. A little further a field, there is llyn y fan fach, where the myth of the lady of the lake and the herbalists of myddfai is well known. Pen y fan is a very popular hike, being the highest peak in South Wales.
  • 5 Star! Great host! Great room! Before my partner and I even stayed, Rebecca was so lovely, when planning this trip I worried about where we would eat as we are both vegan. She told me about so many places to eat and also places to visit. The area in general is very vegan friendly and the breakfast that Rebecca provided was absolutely amazing (probably one our top highlights of the stay) so she can cater to all dietary requirements. The room had everything we needed, clean and homely. If you're a animal lover she has two cats (the black one is super friendly) and a small dog. I would highly recommend whilst you're staying to have a reflexology treatment by Rebecca and have the breakfast. In terms of travel we had a car which definitely made it easier for us to see the sights, however the views from the house are pretty beautiful too. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

  • What a wonderful place! Enjoyed everything there is about this perfect little retreat. Kieran and his mum were so welcoming and friendly, giving you everything you could ask for & also hints and tips for things to do and places to eat. The place itself is gorgeous, homey and an absolute delight to stay in!! Words do not do this place justice!! We would be back to stay again in a heartbeat.

    Emily2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nothing bad to say about this place. From the bottle of prosecco left on the table to the hot tub that was waiting for us to jump in even though we were late (close to 10pm), every box was ticked . The storm made our stay even more adventurous as the strong winds felt like they would take the little pod flying. The mattress was extra soft and that's where my back felt neglected, but this is a personal preference and I don't expect to have it catered everywhere i go. Who enjoys sleeping on a cloud will definitely be happy here. The tub never went under 35°c event after we sat in it during the cold rain for more then 45 minutes. Don't let the bad wether scare you ( we went during a storm) and we were still able to explore the area as google maps will guide you to good parking sports to visit the waterfalls in the area. Kieran, thanks again for everything. We had a chance to meet someone on our way out as we was gone for most of the day. Lovely to meet her and good luck with this little slice of heaven!
