“The Fischmarkt (fish market) and its barkers are famous in Hamburg. Its only open on Sundays from 6-9 AM so either you get up early or you go all night and have a morning snack there. “A gorgeous cafe with an excellent brunch on the weekend. Inexpensive and fresh. I love the elegant couches and huge windows. Sometimes it's hard to find a seat. Everyone is friendly and speaks English. Close to the Reeperbahn without the trash.”

“10 min walk: The first thing one notices about Knuth, even before walking in, is that the restaurant’s atmosphere seems to ooze out through the windows and light up the whole street with lively chatter and happy customers. After walking in, it is clear that this is a neighbourhood favourite where locals come to read one of the many magazines and newspapers that are offered while enjoying a hearty cake with coffee served in a huge bowl. Another great thing about Knuth is that the kitchen stays open during the day, and the selection of daily plates always pleases due to their variety.”

“What can you tell about the Pudel? It's the birth place of so many dj*anes. It's the cradle of Hamburg's counterculture. Punk meets Avantgarde meets Lo-Fi meets electronical masterclass. It's still the place to be in long summer nights. Every night (except Tuesdays). Thursdays are great. Watch out for Smallville events!”

“You should at least have a look and go there for a snack. People who work there are very much representing original people from Hamburg. A bit loud, not too friendly on the first view, but with a big heart.”

“Amazing, cozy, romantic and unique place at beautiful sit outside or inside spot in a just local almost non touristic street. YOU HAVE TO go there Perfect to have a glass of wine and hours of talks. Neither cheap nor expensive. Perfect to combine with a drink at "clockers" since it's next door (see below)”

“Best burgers in Hamburg! Get the Stingy Gonzales (it's with guacamole) and maybe instead of the normal fries that come with it, ask if they have chili cheese fries and then have a nice slice of new york cheesecake for dessert. For digestion, ask for a pickleback. And if you see Ulli, Hester or Tim, say Kris says hi.”
