This charming cottage has 180° views overlooking Lake Daylesford and the Wombat State Forest. Away from the main road, it's quiet and completely self contained with off street parking. You're only minutes to Daylesford's many cafes and delightful local attractions; or you can wind down in this relaxed space undisturbed.

The space
Argie Cottage was originally built in the 1860s and has been in the family for four generations. It's just 6 x 8m, but very cosy, comfortable and clean.
You'll find a well appointed kitchen, open plan lounge-dining area with electric and gas heating and a freshly renovated bathroom with a washing machine (ironing facilites are available on request).
It's peaceful here. There are books to read, table games, an antiquated sound system for music, or there's the superb view to gaze at… it's always changing and mornings and sunsets are mesmerising.
From the verandah, or walking in the neighbouring "Argie" (Cornish HIll Reserve), you can see wallabies, koalas, echidnas, a wide range of colourful birdlife, and native flora.

Guest access
There are two dwellings on the property, with separate driveways and plenty of space between for your privacy. You have access to everything in the cottage including the outdoor seating areas under the back porch and the front verandah with that view! We hope you'll enjoy it's olde world charm as much as we do.

Other things to note
Check in: 4pm onwards;
Check out: 11am

We proudly offer Argie Cottage as a retreat, free from WIFI and TV screens, providing instead a fabulous range of books, table games, music and that wonderful view. If you wish to plug back into the world wide web, WIFI is available at many cafes in Vincent Street (main drag of Daylesford): eg, Himalaya bakery, Frangos and Frangos café, or at the Groovy Daylesford Library during business hours.

If you fancy a movie, there's a fab little cinema in the REX on Vincent Street** run by volunteers; our cinema is a great asset to the town.

**(2018-2019: Due to current renovations at the REX, movies are showing at the quite marvellous historic town hall).

Location

Daylesford, Victoria, Australia

Just on the edge of town, Argie Cottage is nestled in the Cornish Hill Reserve (affectionately known to the locals as "The Argie"). The Dja Dja Wurrung clan were the original inhabitants of Cornish Hill and the greater Daylesford region. We proudly acknowledge their country, the elders and their input in all aspects of aboriginal cultural heritage.

Daylesford's historic township boasts many outdoor and indoor attractions and activities. Known as the spa centre of the Central Highlands, generations have been coming here to take the waters for their health and wellbeing. There is a wide variety of therapies to choose from and Argie Cottage is walking distance to many of these.
Other attractions in walking distance are the lakes, botanical and community gardens, galleries, museum, library, markets and the lure of Vincent street - the main drag - where funky cafes, fine dining, speciality shops are waiting to tempt you.
