The space
The Gardens Apartment is nestled in the tranquil, leafy riverside suburb of Taroona and is just 10 minutes drive from the Hobart CBD, Salamanca precinct and the ferry or bus to MONA. There is a bus stop 50m from the apartment.

Built in 2013 and fitted out to a very high standard, The Gardens Apartment is completely self-contained and will appeal to tourists or travellers who would like to enjoy some of Hobart’s fine restaurants but who also appreciate having the use of a serious kitchen while away from home - featuring gas cooktop (with flame-fail detection), 3 function oven, dishwasher, fridge and front-load washing machine. There’s also a coffee machine (Caffitaly pod system) with complementary coffee pods and a selection of teas provided, as are some breakfast goodies for our guests' first morning.

The lounge offers high quality 'Tessa' leather lounge chairs and flued gas heating. 40” LED Full HD Smart TV provides Netflix, YouTube, Freeview catch-up as well as two popular social media apps (some require user accounts). There's a Blu-Ray/DVD player and a range of movies for your enjoyment and an Internet radio accessing over 25,000 stations from around the world. There's also a bluetooth stereo soundbar for your own music. NBN broadband WiFi provides great coverage throughout the apartment and is perfect for streaming, internet and email.

The bathroom is compact and stylish and there is a separate toilet.

The spacious upstairs bedroom has a specially designed lighting system, twin built-in robes and new queen-size bed with high quality pocket spring mattress for minimum partner disturbance and a restful night's sleep.

The apartment has its own courtyard and clothes line. Under-cover off-street parking for guests is adjacent to the apartment.

Nearby there’s easy access to beaches, cafés, pubs, restaurants and the renowned Lipscombe Larder - a delicatessen that provides wonderful meals – either ready-to-cook or pre-cooked, as well as a great selection of Tasmania’s outstanding cool climate wines and fine local produce. As the area provides the ideal riding environment for cyclists, we offer the use of two TREK FX 7.1 flat-bar road bicycles for those who wish to use them: a 44.5cm men's and a 38cm women's... and helmets, of course!

PEACE of MIND! Our guests' safety is our No.1 priority. The Gardens Apartment is purpose-built and Council-approved as a Visitor Accommodation and meets all the rigorous health and safety standards required for such accreditation. It is equipped with smoke and carbon monoxide detector/alarms, integrated emergency lighting system, fire extinguisher and fire blanket, flame-fail isolation on gas cooktop, fully-flued gas heater (sealed inlet and exhaust), floor-level safety lighting on the stairs, non-flammable 100% wool carpets, first aid kit, emergency contact sheet and an evacuation plan.

The Gardens Apartment offers outstanding value. It is available for stays of between 3 and 14 nights and the published per-night price is discounted for stays of 7 nights or more in any season (see booking calendar for details).

Guest access
We invite our guests to enjoy the gardens. Guests have exclusive access to the apartment, its courtyard, its clothes line and the carport. They also have shared access to the free WiFi network (NBN) for media streaming, email and internet.

Other things to note
Although access to the apartment from the adjoining carport is flat, level and well-lit, the apartment has an upstairs bedroom. This will make it unsuitable for those unable to negotiate a normal set of stairs without assistance.

We always ask our guests to review our apartment so that other travellers can get an idea of how they have found the standard of our accommodation. We'd like to think that we have thought of everything, but occasionally our guests make suggestions on how we can make our apartment even better. If it's practical to implement those suggestions - we do! For example, the road bikes we offer the use of, came from a suggestion from our first ever paying guest.
