Description

The space

2.9km to the CBD, The house is 5 mins walk to tram and train lines. Situated off Smith St (One of the main hubs of Collingwood) Close to restaurants, cafes, retail stores, bars, art galleries, and more. Victorian refurbished modern with timber floors. There's heating, and a fan if it's too hot in the summer time. The house is in a a quiet family street, away from all the noise of the city, so it's chill at night time.

The bed is a real double, with all new bedding and sheets. It's suitable for two people, or if you'd like I also have a blow up queen mattress.

The kitchen features a stovetop oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, and large fridge, please clean up after yourself when cooking.

Internet is unlimited, I also have a Netflix account for your convenience. You may also use my MAC or iPad if you require computer access.

The bed is in the front room of the house (Entry and exit through the front door is via this room), But we can accommodate to make this room private by closing the door to the hallway if you'd like full privacy in the evenings, when guests stay I exit and enter via the back gate of the house.

Guest access

You may access all parts of the house (Accept the bedrooms) as you like, but please follow the golden rule and treat it the same respect you would treat your own house :)

Interaction with guests

I've lived in the area for the past 13 years, I have a large network of friends who are artists, designers, fashion designers, writers, photographers, and more. I would be more than happy to show you around, invite you out to meet people, tell you about all the best places to eat, drink, socialise, and if you're lucky there may be a house party on that we could definitely check out. There are always exhibitions in the area, if you enjoy the arts? And it's always good to check out the local events blogs to see what's happening in the area. The night life in my area is fun, definitely the best part of Melbourne, reminds me of Brooklyn NY, and many parts of Europe.

The neighbourhood

FITZROY/COLLINGWOOD
Perch in a Brunswick Street bar and celebrate the way that sometimes the more things change, the more they stay the same in this bohemian enclave.
While inevitably undergoing inner-city gentrification, Fitzroy has retained its creative edge thanks to a great mix of art galleries, studios and specialist bookshops. Idiosyncratic bars pop up on Smith Street, Marios. Polyester and Brunswick Street Books still call Brunswick Street home, and Johnson Street continues to flaunt its Spanish heritage, especially during the November Hispanic Fiesta.
Brunch and bar hopping on Brunswick Street
Grab an all-day breakfast, an outdoor lunch and hang around until evening to make merry in Brunswick Street's bars and pubs.
Ring the doorbell for the privilege of classic cocktails at The Attic, listen to vinyl crackle at Black Cat or go frou frou at Polly. Prop up the bar alongside old-timers and bearded musos at Sullivans-style pubs like Labour In Vain, the Standard, the Napier or Marquis of Lorne.
Fossicking Fitzroy
Browse quaint and quirky shops selling vintage wares and locally designed goodies. Try Vintage Sole, Somebuddy Loves You, The Untitled Shop, FAT 4, Hunter Gatherer and in.cube8r. Flick though cult classics at alternative bookstore Polyester Books or rifle through records at the music shop sibling. Do your one-stop independent design shopping on Saturdays at the Rose Street Artists' Market.
Tour d'Art
Get snapping the local street art and commissioned murals, and check out studios, galleries and workshops like Brunswick Street Gallery, Alcaston Gallery, Sutton Gallery, Window99, PanelPop and Centre for Contemporary Photography.
East to Smith Street
Get your dancing shoes on and head to Smith Street. Pick up the appropriate footwear at the outlets along the strip, or at one of the growing number of stores stocking local designer wares. Check out the bands and DJs at Yah Yah's, Panama, Kent Street and Collingwood World.
How to get there
By tram: Number 112 from Collins Street or Number 86 from Bourke Street.
By bus: From the city take Route 200 towards Bulleen, 201 towards Doncaster or 207 towards Donvale.

By boyfriend and I stayed two nights at Win's place. The house is in a quiet neighbourhood, close to shops, public transport and restaurants (5-10 min walk to Smith street). The room is very nice, has a comfortable bed and an own entrance. The shared bathroom is nice and clean. We didn't meet Win, but the check in and the communication via airbnb during our stay was easy. Would definitely recommend to stay there!

Win's place is great. Located in Fitzroy/Collingwood with easy access to a whole range of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants down Smith St & Brunswick Street. Supermarkets etc are also located just a short 5/10 minute walk away. The 86 tram stop is conveniently located at the end of Easey St. The room is nice and big, the bed very comfortable and you're given your own space. We made use of the washing facilities and Win's recommendations of where to go in and around Melbourne which was extremely helpful. Overall really great place to stay whilst you're in Melbourne and Win is the ideal host. Would stay here again if visiting Melbourne, thanks Win!

We spend 13 nights at Win's house. The house was nice, cosy and clean. The location was perfect, close to transport, restaurants, café's and store's even though they were a little expensieve. At night you have nice café's where you can drink. We have not seen Win much around, but if we contacted him he responsed quickly. We would recommend the house to friends!

Win is a very kind host and responded always quickly. The house is very nice and clean. We had our own entrance to our room with a very comfortable bed. We loved the perfect location which was very close to a nice district with nice bars, cafes and restaurants. At the same time the place is very quiet. We would definitely recommend Wins house and stay there again!

Win's place is perfect. The location is amazing and communication is easy. Win responded straight away to any query and went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable. I stayed at 112 Easey Street on two separate occasions during my three week trip to Melbourne and both times it was such a relief to arrive in the beautiful home. It is a chill oasis, with the nicest host. Thank you Win! I will definitely be back!

Hi, I'm Win

Father to a beautiful son, I work in I.T, and I coach my son's basketball team. Yew! :)

I live a fairly chilled and relaxed lifestyle, try not to take things too seriously.

I love to cook and try different recipes, more so to impress my son :) I've always enjoyed cooking for others rather than myself, being able to share my love for food with friends is priceless.

My network of friends are from all walks of life, designers, fashion, artists, photographers, label owners, writers, and musicians, Melbourne's North has such a great subculture of people living in the area.

Throughout my 20's and even now, I've travelled all over the world. I try to travel somewhere new each year. Europe and South East Asia are always my favourite, although I have a love for New York City, it keeps pulling me back there... What a magical place.

I look forward to meeting you.
