Nestled in the stunning wilderness of North East Tasmania, Little Falu is a Swedish cottage-style tiny home perfect for a romantic getaway or a solo retreat. Experience Lagom and the Swedish tradition of Fika as you unwind in our cosy yet luxurious accommodation. Relax with a bath or savour an afternoon coffee by the crackling fireplace.

The Blue Derby trails and Little Blue Lake are just a 15-minute drive away, offering walking, mountain biking, and a refreshing plunge after a sauna session.

The space
Little Falu is at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, tucked away in the Tassie bush — providing the perfect blend of seclusion and accessibility.

We have good Wi-Fi reception, which you can use to make internet calls. However, if you want a break from your phone ringing, this is the place, as phone coverage is patchy.

Our bathroom is well equipped with a shower, a medium-sized bath, and a flushing toilet.

There are skylights in the loft so that you can stargaze from the comfort of your bed.

In the kitchen, we supply pantry basics like organic loose-leaf teas, coffee, hot chocolate, a range of spices, sugar, salt, pepper, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. For coffee, you can choose a French press or a stovetop. There's a 2-plate gas cooker, a full-sized oven, and a bar fridge. The nearest major supermarket (Woolworths) is 40 minutes away in Scottsdale.

We're on a septic system, and we also care a lot about using only natural and organic products so that they're friendly for the environment and for you.

You're in a natural bush setting and likely to see some friendly wildlife in the evening. Take care driving at night, and please do not feed native animals human food.

Guest access
Little Falu is all yours. On-site parking is available in the gravel designated area, with access to the tiny home via a key safe. Our plot is on a small street with three quiet and friendly neighbours.

You’re 15 minutes from the township of Derby, where you can enjoy various restaurants, cafes, and pubs. The closest place to eat out is about a 10-minute drive in Winnaleah. They serve pub-style meals at the hotel.

The shed on the property isn't accessible to guests. We use it for housekeeping and maintenance. It's also cute to look at.

Other things to note
Please note Little Falu isn’t suitable for children or pets due to the delicate and unique nature of its furnishings and design.

Our fireplace is only available for use during the cooler months, as it is a small space and heat rises. This means that the loft would get uncomfortably hot, and you wouldn't be able to sleep. We have made this decision for your comfort. We have provided a small plug-in heater if required during your stay.

Our loft bed is accessed by a ladder/steep stairs. If you have mobility issues, this property may not be suitable for you.
