Because of COVID19 we have decided it is best to close the Bungalow throughout April and May. We look forward to getting through this terrible time and opening our home once again to guests from across the globe.
Please take care of yourselves. Can't do that overseas trip?

The space
The Bungalow and our garden are the perfect place to relax after a day of sight-seeing, trekking, canyoning or gallery fossicking.

Kick back, cook a bbq meal and warm your toes by the Chiminea. Alternatively head into Blackheath village to dine at one of our wonderful eateries.

The Bungalow contains a double bed plus a single bed.

There is a kitchenette with a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, electric frypan, toaster, kettle, cutlery, plates etc...plus a few essentials like cooking oil and salt & pepper. There is a bbq on the outside deck and a Chiminea ('fire pit') which is not for cooking (except perhaps marshmallows) but lovely to sit near.

We supply a range of teas, plunger coffee, sugar & milk, spreads & cooking oil.

There is a modern bathroom with heated towel rail (a must in winter!).

Our large garden deck set with table, chairs and a sun umbrella is directly accessible from the Bungalow for you to enjoy a relaxing time.

Guest access
Park in one of the 2 marked spaces on the RIGHT side of our driveway ONLY. Go through the gate on the right side of the house (make sure to close it securely so our dogs DON'T escape), follow the path all the way to the front door of the Bungalow. The garden is for you to enjoy.

The dogs Mimi & Snoopy might bark, then they'll greet you and demand to be patted.

Self check-in if you are arriving after dark or when we are not here.

Other things to note
Follow the directions on your confirmation page - not GPS which might put you in the bush.

We are NOT a few minutes walk to the village - we are NOWHERE NEAR the highway noise!

Just bird song and yes, our dogs do bark occasionally - they like to defend their patch but are generally well behaved and extremely friendly.
We are a dog loving household. If you don't like dogs or have allergies, this is probably not the accommodation for you.

Mobile phone reception is a problem depending on your carrier. It is excellent in the village so you won't be completely out of touch with the world (unless of course you want to be).

* We have wifi and a super booster and it is reliable however we are in the Mountains and atmospheric conditions can interfere. There is NOTHING we can do about this so we apologise in advance for any wifi disruption.

Location

Blackheath, New South Wales, Australia

We are 1,100 metres above sea level so even if you come in summer, pack some warm clothes as you never know what the weather will do.

Bushwalking is fantastic all year round as is the clean Mountains air. Sunsets at Mount Blackheath or Hargraves lookout can be spectacular and sunrise at Govetts Leap is certainly camera worthy.

Misty Valley Bungalow is opposite bushland where we walk our dogs daily.

The quaint little village of Blackheath (6 mins drive) has cafes with great coffee, some excellent restaurants and there are lovely galleries to lose yourself in. We are only 20 mins drive from the tourist activities of Katoomba and then a further 5 mins to trendy Leura shopping.

We are just over 1 hour's drive to Jenolan Caves.

Blackheath is renowned for the best bush-walks in the Mountains and we are under 10 mins drive from the spectacular Govetts Leap and 5 mins to Perrys Lookdown; only 5 minutes from the extraordinary Campbell Rhododendron Gardens (best flowering season is late Sept - mid Nov).

There are several picturesque walks only minutes from our home.

Hello world... Tony is a retired food scientist who dabbled in an acting career while working as a chemist. Deborah is a retired singer & singing teacher who had a 25 year performing career. Since moving from Sydney to the Blue Mountains we have immersed ourselves in the Mountains Community. We sing with one of our local choirs, The Heathens, we are heavily involved in the Blue Mountains Rhododendron Society who operate and maintain the Campbell Rhododendron Gardens and we volunteer where we can with the community. Listing Misty Valley both Reconnect & the Bungalow on Airbnb has given us the opportunity to meet and engage with people from across the globe which has been extremely rewarding. Sharing the beauty of Blackheath and surrounds with travellers from across the globe is a joy. We are very proud to say that we have held 'Super Host' status since the beginning and work hard to provide the best service possible.
