The space
Tallowwood House was designed and hand built by our neighbour—a Japanese furniture maker—in 1979. It is a unique, rustic and intimate cabin that includes:

- A private sauna
- A loft bedroom with a king size bed
- A lounge with two daybeds that can accommodate additional guests upon request
- A small, but spacious kitchen with electric cooktops, a fridge, toaster, kettles, moka coffee pot and all the cookware and utensils you could ever need
- An indoor fireplace (Note: firewood is not provided during Between October to March)
- 2 showers (one indoor and one outdoor)
- An outdoor bath (with hot and cold water taps)
- A large outdoor deck
- Outdoor dining table and seats
- A fire pit

Pet policy & fees

- As pet owners ourselves, we wanted to ensure we are pet friendly
- All we ask is that you keep your pets off the bed and lounges and clean any paw marks and hair on the floors
- Pet fees = $50 per pet, per stay

Guest access
You will have private access to:

- The whole house
- Backyard
- Outdoor bath
- Sauna

You will have shared access to:
- Walking trails that traverse the property

To access the house from the driveway/car park, you will need to walk up a pathway that has steps. This pathway is a little steep. Please take this into consideration when booking.

Other things to note
1. From October 1 to March 31, we do not provide firewood due to increased fire risk during these months. If you wish to have an indoor or outdoor fire, please be aware you will need to bring your own.

2. If there are local fire bans in the area, we will notify you of the ban and what is and isn't allowed

3. We are located on 20 acres of rainforest so although our cleaners try their best to ensure the cabin is free of insects we can't promise that there won't be any.
