Location
Hidden within the Sunshine Coast hinterlands, the Lake House is surrounded by lush rainforest and total natural seclusion. Less than 10 minutes from Montville — with its boutiques, restaurants, waterfalls, and rainforest walks — and a scenic drive to the beautiful town of Maleny, the retreat offers the rare balance of wilderness and convenience. head in the opposite direction 10 minutes to Palmwoods, home to Rick’s Diner, piggy back Asian street food and local amenities.
The Lake House Experience
An adults-only, off-grid sanctuary designed for quiet, romance, and reconnection (no children, babies, or pets). As the only accommodation on the property, guests enjoy exclusive access to the private lake and surrounding rainforest, over 200 metres from the main residence.
Wake to birdsong in a queen-size bed framed by oversized windows overlooking the lake and rainforest canopy. Seasonal baby turtles glide through the water below, while native birdlife moves through the trees throughout the day. Luxury linens and towels, block-out blinds, and gentle fans for air circulation ensure deep, restorative rest (no air conditioning).
Enjoy slow, intentional meals with a kitchenette, outdoor BBQ, and pizza oven, served on handcrafted ceramics from our pottery studio, The Clay Society. Filtered rainwater is provided for drinking and showering.
Completely off-grid and intentionally Wi-Fi free, the Lake House offers limited 12V power for charging phones only (not laptops). Phone reception is available, though guests are encouraged to disconnect and immerse themselves in the natural rhythm of the rainforest.
A secluded outdoor shower sits behind the cabin, offering a private, grounding experience among the lychee trees.
A seperate eco friendly composting toilet is behind the cabin, private from the sleeping and eating areas. with a built in fan system to stay completely odour free.
Arrival & Access
Guests arrive via a private entrance and driveway, with security cameras at access points for peace of mind. A small luggage cart is provided to carry belongings to the cabin. A fire pit is available for evenings under the stars — guests are asked to bring their own firewood.

we are surrounded by rainforest areas insects and wildlife— we recommend wearing shoes when walking into the lake house areas.
Guest access
The Lake House offers the perfect blend of privacy and tranquility, more than 200 meters from the main house and art studio. With its own private entrance, security cameras, large gates, and dedicated guest parking, you'll feel at ease from the moment you arrive.
A peaceful stroll down Lychee Lane will guide you through nature to the Lake House, we recommend wearing shoes to fully embrace the wild beauty around you, the rainforest is home to beautiful wildlife, insects, and fauna.
there's a handy guest cart to easily carry your belongings to the cabin located at the guest parking area. The cart is for a maximum of 15 kgs luggage and belongings.
Feel free to roam the lush bushland surrounding the Lake House. Guests are invited to gather naturally fallen branches for the fire pit (or bring your own wood), creating the perfect setting to unwind under the stars.

Important Information for Your Stay at the Lake House:
Our Lake House is a peaceful, adult-only retreat, ideal for those looking to disconnect and relax. We do not allow babies, children or teenagers due to safety for the natural deep unfenced water.
As we’re nestled deep in nature, we recommend wearing shoes when exploring the Lake House and its surroundings. If you’re sensitive to insects or wildlife, our tranquil, rainforest environment may not be the best fit for you.
The Lake House is completely off-grid, offering a serene escape with no air conditioning, but we do have fans to keep things cool on warmer nights.
The tap water at the lake house is rain water which is filtered and chemical free, safe to drink there is no need to bring bottled water.
The space is designed for a maximum of two adult guests. We do not accommodate additional people or visitors unless you have booked an event with us which is discussed prior to booking. Fees are charged for events such as weddings, or photo shoots.
We are a smoke-free and vape-free property—please refrain from smoking anywhere on the property.
12 v power is limited to a USB charging port for phones and no power points.
As we cannot control the weather. We provide umbrellas, and while the deck is open-air, many find the sound of rain peaceful. If this could affect your stay, we might not be the right fit for you.
During heavy rain periods parking may be moved to the driest area, with a short walk of up to 50 meters to the Lake House. A luggage cart is available to make your journey easy and comfortable.
