An island get away for an entirely unique Sydney experience! Opens directly to jetty over Pittwater Estuary with a small beach and easy to access from ferry or water taxi just off Church Point. This listing is for the upper timber studio only.

The space
Designed by award winning architect Richard Leplastrier, the home is located directly on the waters edge. Home is craftsman built to shipwright standards featuring the use of timbers and beautiful sandstone.

The upper level has a winding sandstone staircase leading up to the open plan timber studio. This listing is only for the upper timber studio.

A rare level grassed lawn to the water's edge provides direct access to a sandy beach, a perfect place for swimming or to enjoy the added waterfront facilities of your private deep water jetty and pontoon.

The property is fully landscaped with natives and succulents and is complimented by dry stone walls and pathways leading through the block with private sitting nooks throughout.

Guest access
Scotland Island is water-access-only, a fact which gives it its unique character and lifestyle. There are three ways to get to Scotland Island: ferry, water taxi or private boat.

The Church Point Parking Precinct comprises the Church Point Reserve Car Park and areas along McCarr’s Creek Road west of Commuter Wharf. Maximum $20 daily and must be paid each day.

Free parking is available on surrounding roads. There is walking access from the end of Eastview Road to Pittwater Road at Church Point Ferry Wharf and plaza. The Pittwater Council Parking permit is not valid for parking in these areas; a special permit is required, or the Pay and Display facilities must be used.

The Church Point Ferry is an integral part of island life, and has been since its inception in 1924. It has transported islanders and western foreshore residents to and from their offshore homes on a daily basis, in all sorts of weather, for 90 years now. Ferry's usually depart hourly, but check the time table here: (URL HIDDEN)

Pink Water Taxis are an on-demand service based at Church Point Ferry Wharf. Call when you are at a wharf and ready to go. Taxis carry up to 6 passengers with normal luggage, and have mobile EFTPOS services available for Mastercard and Visa. Mobile: (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)

You must advise the ferry captain, or water taxi captain you need to get off at EASTERN WHARF. Upon getting dropped off, the house is at the end of the jetty, first house on the right, accessed by crossing the beach.

Getting to the island is part of the adventure.

Other things to note
THERE ARE NO SHOPS ON THE ISLAND. There are two convenience stores near the Church Point Ferry Wharf for basic necessities, and an adjoining restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Bring your own food with you and cook in the kitchen or take the water taxi to many wonderful restaurants and marinas nearby.

When swimming, exercise caution for sharp oyster shells and bring your swimming shoes if you can!
