A private open plan apartment for two people only. 10 minute walk to Olinda village, restaurants/cafes. Popular walking tracks at your door step. Rhododendron gardens and other tourist attractions close by.

The space
Tanha Kita was bulit in 1918 and is an original hills home. The apartment below the main house has a modern feel with open plan living, separate bathroom with shower, toilet and basin, adjoining a 2nd private bedroom for extra family members.

The living area is spacious and contains books, magazines, dvd's, collectors monopoly board stand, chess board and various other popular games. There are toys for children to play with, including lego, dolls, wooden train sets etc.

There is a flat screen TV, dvd player and Wii console with games.
There is an office space with two desks and Free Wifi.

*Please note: the fire place is not usable, however we do have ducted heating and a free standing thermostat heater. There are extra blankets to cosy up with on cooler nights. Warmer evenings we can supply you with an electric fan.

The apartment does not have a full functional kitchen, however we do offer a microwave, kettle, toaster & mini bar fridge which will be stocked with milk, juice, water, butter and other condiments. We supply bread and cereals for a continental breakfast option.
Cutlery, crockery and glasses/cups are provided. There is a kettle, coffee plunger and toaster. Tea, coffee, drinking chocolate is also provided.

The bed in the main apartment is a King size with a memory foam mattress. Linen is provided and extra pillows. There are face, hand and bath towels, a hairdryer, and basic bathroom essentials in the bathroom in case you forgot your own.

The 2nd bedroom is available on request and contains a bed that can be converted to be a single bed or king sized bed for two people. There is a wardrobe with hangers to place your clothing.

You have your own private covered deck at the front door to the apartment overlooking the garden which can be enjoyed all seasons. There are two very comfortable chairs and a table where you can relax outside.

There is a recreation area which includes BBQ facilities, table and seating as well as a play area consisting of a trampoline and basketball hoop.

You are also welcome to collect eggs from our chickens and we have a vegetable and berry garden to explore.

Guest access
Access to the apartment is via downward steps from the car park. Unfortunately we do not have disability access at this time.
You will have full private use of the apartment and a parking space. You are free to wander and enjoy our garden.

Other things to note
Our poodle cross 'Molly' is enthusiastic to greet guests on arrival with a few barks and a wagging tale. She is completely harmless, but over friendly. She will respect your privacy once you have settled in. We also have a cat 'Milo', who like most cats can be curious, however he tends to keep to himself.

As we live upstairs, there could be the possibility that you may hear movement or sounds from above. We will however do our best to keep noise to a minimum.

We can not be held responsible for the failure or outages of public services, such as electricity, water, internet etc. We will make every effort to see the outage is corrected as soon as possible.

Neighbourhood highlights

Tanha Kita is within walking distance to Olinda village, however we are set in a tranquil position of forest making it feel like we are miles away. We are a 10 minute walk to the local cafes and eateries and an abundance of wonderful giftware shops.

There are popular walking tracks virtually right outside our door. Our property almost backs onto the Rhododendron gardens.

It is a short drive to many other wonderful gardens and villages that make up Mt. Dandenong

We have a love for travel and discovering new places. Here in Olinda we have found our most idyllic place to call home. We want to share that with other travellers. Life is an adventure of discovery. There is so much to discover in Mount Dandenong. Every season brings something special, from the occasional snow in winter, the amazing abundance of flowers blooming in spring, the incredible sunsets looking over the ranges in summer and the welcomed coolness from the trees, the colours of autumn, my favourite season. We love to meet new people and of course welcome back friends who enjoy staying with us. Gardening has become a new enjoyed hobby, creating and watching things grow. Cooking meals to share with family & friends is a joy, especially when a lot of the produce comes from our own garden. Music is enjoyed also amongst our talented musical friends from time to time. A love for art, particularly painting, sculpture and mosaic; some of which can be seen around our property. We look forward to meeting you and sharing our environment of which we love so much.
