This is a fantastic place! A lot of time and effort has been put in to make it comfortable and interesting. Make sure you take some time to talk to your fabulous host Melinda, who is a mine of information. At night, the view over the valley under the clear starry sky was simply unforgettable.

We loved our stay at The Dairy and came home feeling relaxed & holidayed like we have been away for a week. Melinda is a great host. It was such a privilege to be in such ideal surrounds to enjoy the fresh country air & watch the gentle swiss cows outside our window. The cottage is warm & friendly with a fireplace so cosy to spend some quality time together playing scrabble, sharing a movie or two, cooking some lovely meals and enjoying wine & nibbles. We can highly recommend The Dairy to others especially it being so close to Tarra Bulga national park for walks and Port Albert for coffee & cake at The General Store.

Melinda is a fantastic host. She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Our children (12 & 9) had a wonderful time meeting the beautiful cows, visiting the neighbours milking shed with Melinda, and exploring Devon North, Yarram and Tarra Valley. The Old Dairy Cottage is a wonderful base for discovering the region. We intend to return soon.

Response from Melinda:

My husband Len and I own a beef producing farm where we practise organic and ethical farming principles and also raise Braunvieh and Tarentaise stud cattle. Originally, in the late 1800's the property was run as a dairy farm and we have converted the old dairy shed into a quaint BnB and had the greatest time decorating and furnishing it to reflect the history and character of the building. We understand that the building was the third dairy to be built here with the second old dairy still standing close by where the cows were milked by hand. We have been having fun collecting farm memorabilia and old bits and pieces as we intend to turn this older building into a little museum and under cover BBQ/outdoor entertainment area for our guests to enjoy in the future.
